This study was a seminal replication on attention blink similar to the one done by Raymond et al, in a
rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) task. This study predicted that there would be a higher
accuracy for identifying the first target, T1 and lower accuracy for the second target, T2 depending on
the lag, given that T1 was accurately reported. 193 students participated in the experiment. This
experiment was a part of the course requirement. There was a stream of 19 letters, each lasting for 100
ms. The target letters, T1 and/or T2, to be identified were either a J or a K or both from the stream of
19 letters presented. In this study, a total of 60 trials were conducted for each participant. For T1, there
were 30 J and 30 K targets. T2 comprised of 24 J, 24 K and 12 null targets. The participants were
asked to decide whether they saw the letters J, K, both or neither following the RSVP stream. They
were asked to do so by using a button click mechanism. At the end of all the trials, the participants
were presented with a summary of their performance report. It was observed that the percentage of T1
reported does not vary significantly as a function of lag. Also, the percentage of T2 reported varied as

Hurricane Sandy Hurricane Sandy was a devastating storm that affected Countries in the Caribbean as

Family Social Exchange theory is the idea that social change and stability represent a process of cost
and benefit between the two parties or individuals: how much effort is put into the relationship versus
how much effort our companion is contributing. This theory proposes that in order to understand one
another and the choices made by them, we must understand what that individuals finds to be
motivating or rewarding.
Main Assumptions As there are many assumptions on social exchange, one of the assumptions to
know is that people are motivated by self interest. Meaning that we seek things or relationships that
are beneficial to ourselves. Like weighing the cost and rewards of a relationship or product that is
bought for a purpose. Thus, we, as human being finds more pleasurable to engage in a relationship or
interactions that will be more beneficial and rewarding, while avoiding the least cost or punishment.
When people choose to help others, they do so because of personal gain they expect to obtain from
doing so. An example could be that someone might feel that their job takes advantage of them and
therefore, that person decides to quit the job and look for another job if they think that they could get a

7th Annual Celebration of the Negro Spirituals
7th annual Negro spirituals were the event I attend, the event took place in Nicholls state university
February 10th at 7:30pm in Mary and Al Danos Theater / Talbot hall. We Celebrate black history
month because back in 1926 Dr. Carter G. Woodson wanted to honor Frederick Douglass and
Abraham Lincoln Birthday. The event had about 100 150 that attended.
Opening of the celebration was by Dr. Shane Anderson, chair, department of music, Nicholls state
university. The celebration started with an opening prayer from Pastor Revered David Rhodes, Sr.
followed by Nicholls choir A celebration of the Negro Spirituals concert series. It was dedicated to the
life, Memory and legacy of the late Dr. Thomas DeVore Carey (1931 2002) the celebration was a sing
on, the instrument that was being played in every participant singing was the piano. My favorite act of
the whole celebration was by Dr. Wilfred Delphin it was just him playing the piano with no singing
involved, I thought it was very peaceful just hearing his fine musical talent and observing around. ...
The unexpected thing that happened to me was walking into the event with it being full of people I
was shocked because the celebration, so, the celebration, so it nice being able to experience it, along
with seeing how many other people attended as well. Outside, they didn t have many cars for the
amount of people in the building so I was thinking it was going to be a little event with not many
