Cities face difficult issues on a regular basis, the responsibility to resolve these issues is placed
upon the City Council. These elected officials have a multitude of people expecting them to make
correct decisions in the communities best interest. But who is to say which call is the right call on
any number of issues, that s why council members must use their best judgment when making
decisions. After watching the September 21, 2016 Bloomington City Council meeting, this
became clear to me. There were a couple issues that really stood out to me and seemed vital to

Keeping facilities maintained and updated is attractive to those outside the community, and could
potentially attract new citizens and businesses. Proposition 13 36 requests the sale of General
Obligation bonds in the amount of $2,000,000, the funds generated will be used to improve
/rehabilitate 5 public facilities used by many in the community. Firstly, Banneker Community
center needs a lobby floor replacement, roof and gutter replacement, as well as repairs to the
masonry. Secondly, the Cascades Golf Course needs fairway improvements, and other various
clubhouse renovations. In addition, Franks Southern Ice Arena is in need of new bleachers,
installation of an ammonia callout system, and a restroom rehabilitation. Additionally, the Goat
Farm needs a barn roof replacement, gutters, downspouts, siding, along with the painting of the
barn and silo. Lastly, Rose Hill Cemetery is in need of multiple mausoleum roof replacements in
addition to gutters, downspouts, and minor masonry repair. Making these repairs and upgrades
would directly improve the quality of life in the city, as well as adding to its overall attractiveness

The distribution, audience, narrative style, and dramatic content, of comic books were the direct
descendants of the pulp magazine. They were called pulp magazine because they were printed on
the cheapest paper for non costly mass distribution, these publications were as old as newspaper
comic strips. Pulp magazines can be traced to their Civil War era ancestors, called dime novels.
Unlike the funnies, pulp magazines styles were outside of the mainstream and featured adventure,
fantasy, and suspense. In 1933, Harry Wildenberg and Max Gaines took the traditional comic and

Throughout the novel The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, Rudy Steiner has shown his heroic
capability by continuously putting other s needs before his own. His interminable behavior
towards the less fortunate, Liesel, and many different characters demonstrates his boldness and
bravery to help others, just as a hero would do. From the beginning of the book, you can infer
that Rudy is an altruistic character from his actions of defending Liesel in front of her

just give up hope when you lose an arm or a leg, or is there some other way to make the best of a
situation? Hope was not given up by us persistent human beings and that is how artificial limbs
were thought of. Instead trying to get around, we thought of artificial legs to help those who have
lost them. Instead of only having one arm, we thought of artificial arms to be able to have two
again. Prosthesis not only brought hope to those who were seriously injured and lost their limbs,

about 500 years until it began to progress into something better. The next wave of prosthesis came
from Ambroise Pare, a Frenchman born in 1510. He was a surgeon for the French Army and was
