Why Was The Anzac Day Important In Australia
Why is the Anzac legend important for future generations?
It was a remarkable day and a day in which it was easy to pick out the wasters, also the brave men.
I am delighted with our Australian troops, the way they take the gruel is splendid.
(T. J. Richards https://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/04/17/1082140118215.html )
ANZAC day is a very special and important day to Australians. It is a day where we honour and
remember the soldiers who fought and died for our country. It is also a day where we come
together and appreciate our freedom and reflect back on how far Australia has come since WWI.
Most importantly, it is a day to reflect on the spirit of the ANZACs. I believe that the ANZAC
legend is important for future generations to be aware ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the 19th century, Australia s first involvement in the great war in 1915, meant changes
to lives of people from all walks of life, out on the battlefields and even back home, in Australia.
The impact on ultimately all aspect of Australian society, however, did not end when the guns
fell silent in November 1918. Instead, it was continued for years, when the tens of thousands of
soldiers returned with their problems because of the war which it effects on Australian life seem
much more apparent. The war s impact in Australia, in terms of food, was generally its increase
in price by 32% between 1914 and 1918, which was very low compared to other European
countries, where there was also rationing, because of food shortages. WW1 also impacted them
by the effected the put towards the war and to see people to know who they were. Without WW1
we probably won t be here today under a roof with our phones and TVs we have today.
To all Australians, ANZAC day is a tradition, paid for in blood and celebrated in our freedom. It
is a day in which not only do we salute the ANZACs, but in paying tribute to them, we also take
the opportunity to invigorate our national spirit and pride. Ever since WW1 Australia has had
more freedom then they did back in 1913. One of the main reasons why many soldiers sign up to
go to the war was to get more freedom and to be able to make their own choices. Thanks to the
soldiers, today Australia

How Did Geography Affect The Indus River Valley
One historical river valley that was affected by geography was, ancient china. Ancient china land
of the silk road home of the terracotta warriors makers of the most deadliest component to
weapons, gunpowder. Ancient china was surrounded with geological features such as
mountains, rivers, deserts and oceans.with all of those challenges surrounding them they were the
most isolated civilization but the most clever. Ancient china had two rivers the yangtze and the
yellow river also known as the river of sorrows because when it flooded it killed people and
washed away people s farm, but the flood brought fresh water and silt for farming, king shun hired
someone to redirect the river so it would not flood, his name was Gun.he had a son named yu,after

Crimminal Defense Lawyers
Crimmal Defense Attorney A stable career is what one always strives for but actually selecting

an argumentative person who enjoys standing up for myself and others; the fact that the pay is

Biblical Viewpoint Research Paper
Biblical Viewpoint Genesis 2:24 (NIV) says, That is why a man leaves his father and mother
and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Males and females are different but God
made them different for the purpose of completion and unity rather than any sort of domination
over one another. God created men and women to be partners and to reflect his love. Genesis 1:27
(NIV) says, So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male
and femalehe created them. God did not discriminate when he created men and women; not the

Christians should be feminists. As Galatians 3:28 (NIV) says, There is neither... Show more content

Women are not statistically a minority, but due to the nature of society they are considered a
political demographic. Slowly but surely, women are making their way into the American
political system. In 1981 Sandra Day O Connor was named the first female Supreme Court
Justice. Today, Hillary Clinton is leading the Democratic polls for the 2016 Presidential race. This
goes to show the headway women are making in politics, but there is still more to be done.
According to the Parliamentary Union, America ranks 58th in women s political leadership

where they rank amongst women in political leadership. It is time for voters and politicians to step

Nation-State and Transnational Entities
Introduction
There is a distinct difference between a nation, state, and nation state. Modern Nation State
developed over the 20th century to compensate for the inadequacy portrayed by pluralistic empires
and extreme nationalism. It is as a result of states seeking to expand their fixed territory that various
wars emerged. Countries in Europe after experiencing the full effect of such wars opted to integrate
thus forming the EU which is a transnational entity. In order to enjoy the full benefits of
globalization it is expected in future transnational entity will play a major role than individual
modern nation state. Nevertheless, currently modern nation states, still want to maintain the distinct
characteristics of modern nation states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A nation can exist even without territorial boundaries. However, nationalist movements of the 19th
century aimed at ensuring nation had land they would call their own resulting in the concept of
Nation State. A nation state is an independent country or a state owned by nation of people. Japan
for instance is a nation state owned by the Japanese. Iceland is another example of nation state.
Important to note is that the two are islands thus limiting cross border immigration. Therefore the
populations there have been able to maintain their national identity as defined by the language and
culture (Opello Rosow, 2004; Gepin, 2010).
United States of America
The United States possesses attributes of modern nation state. Specifically it has fixed territory,
Government that exercises legitimate authority, sovereignty over its territory, a population that is
loyal to it and thus exercises a high sense of National identity (Opello Rosow, 2004). Using federal
and state laws the US foster its fixed territory by Governing and ensuring peaceful relationship exist
between it and its neighbors Canada and Mexico. It manages border relationship, regulating border
crossing, settles any border conflict through bilateral cooperation.

Speech On Social Expectations
Often in their lives, individuals are plagued by unrealistic societal expectations that threaten
individual s personal moralities which lead them to act in certain ways that they would later regret.
A person s desire to be a part of a community, one in which they can feel accepted by social
standards, is what can ultimately bring them to their morality s demise. Despite having social
expectations bring down one s honour due to certain situations, it is important to remember that at
times, it is not the outside world that inherently plagues individuals, rather, it can be the individuals
themselves. Social expectations that seep into our own egos have the power to make one s own
expectations into something that can set individuals up for failure. However, as tragic as certain
mistakes can be, it is important to remember that the recovery from one s downfall is what matters
the most. In order to effectively restore honour and certainty in oneself, one must learn to take a
proactive approach to their adversities stemming from unrealistic social standards that brought them
to their downfall. As human beings require feelings of accomplishment, honour, and certainty in
order to most effectively function and achieve other feats in their lives, a proactive approach to the
adversities that threaten their honour and certainty is vital. Recently, I have been dealing with my
own struggles with restoring honour in my work and certainty in my capabilities. In grade 9 when

Liberal Art Definition
Liberal art help the student to have a better understanding of the world around them. It is
important for any professional to have broad general knowledge, this will give more critical
thinking and creative in the different situation of their professional live (). For example, an
engineer will only be in contact the most part of the time with machines or equipments and won t
be interact with other people. The class of job does not matter because in either way it will be end
it up with people interactions. This explain the reason why Ungar described liberal artsas a
conservative approach to preparation for life (). With this statement true, it is more than obvious
than the liberal arts should taught with more emphasis and deep in high school

Effects Of Technology On Companionship
I am writing to you to talk to you about how technology is growing and how it is impacting
people s humanity. Some may say technology is impacting people positively but my worry is that
technology can hinder people s humanity the same way it helps others. It has and still will
negatively impacted on our everyday lives and our humanity if actions are not taken. I believe
technology is affecting companionship due to the constant use of cellphone to communicate with
friends and family. This trait of humanity is crucial in our lives because friends have alway been
there to help us get through rough times as well as bringing out the true side of you. Throughout
history companionship has alway part an significant role in people s lives as demonstrated in the
oldest piece of literature, an epic called Gilgamesh. In the epic, the main character Gilgamesh went
through many journeys with his best friend, Enkidu, who always had Gilgamesh s back. For
instance, the time that Gilgamesh was afraid to face Humbababut Enkidu stepped up to protect
Gilgamesh. Today, technology has grown so much that we are able to communicate with
cellphone via texting which is causing people to forget how to have a real conversation. But the
bright side is that people are able have complete control over what you re going say.
To start off, the basic to companionship is the fact that conversion is an essential to making friends
and talking to them. Texting is become an important part of people s lives that

Flappers Essay
Flappers
War is often followed by change; World War I is no exception. World War I is often labeled the
cause for the rise of a feminine revolution the flapper . Before the term flapper began to describe
the young independently minded woman of the early Twenties (Mowry 173), the definition that is
most prominent today, it had a 300 year long history. The young woman of the 1920 s was new and
rebellious. In her appearance and demeanor, she broke the social constructs of her society.
When the war started, women had to take over the jobs of men and they learned to be independent.
These women exemplified the beginning of change. Coupled with enfranchisement and the
increased popularity of birth control, women experienced a new ... Show more content on

The car, a new invention, was another tool in their rebellion; it was fast and could be reckless.
Flappers used cars for three purposes: to drive, to ride and for petting . Petting was the sexual
activity practiced in the back seats of cars. People also had petting parties, which mortified the older
generation.
The carefree attitude of the younger generation was attributed to the psychological trauma caused
by the unprecedented casualty level of the war. This generation had the theory that each day might
be the last, therefore lived it to the fullest. This mental change was accompanied by a change in the
physical styles of women. Fashion trends that were held in high regard by tradition were
challenged to demonstrate the new risquГ© way of life.
The Gibson glamour girl preceding the flapper wore long tresses, a high neck starched shirt, and a
long skirt over restrictive undergarments. The flapper did not adhere to these types of restrictions.
Pantaloons and corsets, the Gibson girl s undergarments, were not conducive to the dancing of the
flapper or the need for physical freedom. They were replaced by underwear called step ins
(Rosenberg 2). The flapper fashion showed much more skin than the Gibson girl s outfit. She
wore a loose fitting dress that came just to the knees, with a dropped waistline and often showed
the arms. The look worn by the flapper was called the garconne meaning little boy. The hair was
first cut very short into a bob then even

Analysis Of The Garrison Ncoic For The Camp Bucca
From January 2005 through December 2005, SFC Paulo Sousa served as the Garrison NCOIC
for the Camp Bucca, Iraq. This story speaks about the efforts to develop, establish, and execute
the beginning of a logistical support operation to include MWR events at a newly established
Forward Operation Base (FOB). The 1st Battalion, 102nd Field Artillery (RAOC) was responsible
for the Garrison Command at one of the world s largest detentionfacility. The mission spanned base
support operations, installation equipment requirements, and life support operations. This story

The Garrison Command was comprised of 4 officers and 2 enlisted Soldiers to run a supply
section, a billeting section, a public works department with KBR, construction oversight,
movement control, DFAC operations, an emergency services, and human resource. Within these
areas were responsibilities such as supervision of the camp dining facility, operating a badging
section, and running a movement control cell for all operations leaving our AO. In addition to this
it quickly became clear that his role as a Garrison NCOIC for the masses was more realistically a
landlord for over one thousand tenants.
The NCOIC position was unique in Camp Bucca. There were over four Lieutenant Colonels, 3
Command Sergeant Majors, and 5 First Sergeant that all lived and worked on less than sixteen
acres. SFC Sousa s daily operational tempo was consumed with challenges ranging from advising
on logistic support requirements for life support on the base to finding out who he should talk to
about establishing a Department of Defense Activity Address Code (DoDAAC) for this new
installation. In addition to this, he became the subject matter expert for Morale and Welfare
Recreation (MWR) matters.
One of the first major challenges was the establishment of a DoDAAC. Prior to his arrival at Camp
Bucca, the Supply Support Activity (SSA) was dealing with units and all units have their own
DoDAAC. This is the method normally used to request supplies, request and track

Anne has had enormous success in directing operas, including serving as stage director for over 60

Alvarez Hypothesis
The Alvarez hypothesis is the most popular hypothesis, there is to be for the extinction of the
dinosaurs. This is due to the fact that this theory has lots of scientific proof to support its theory.
There is a crater that is approximately 150 kilometers in width. Experts have analyzed this crater
and have come to a conclusion that an asteroid that had a width of 10 kilometers crashed at
Chicxulub on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico around about 65 million years ago (this around the
same time the dinosaurs went extinct. (Pilkington, 2001)

Experts have found fractured crystals also known as shocked quartz between the soil layer that was

The soil layer from the time of the extinction of the dinosaurs has been analyzed by experts and

Theme Of Symbolism In A Raisin In The Sun
Symbolism is by far one of the most intriguing figurative language devices in English literature. It
can make a simple, little object so much more important than it actually seems, all that s needed is
to peek behind the curtains a little, add some imagination and some deep thought. Symbolism is a
very powerful aspect that can add much more emotion and context to almost anything, symbolism
is practically everywhere. There is even symbolism in Lorraine Hansberry s play, A Raisin in the
Sun, although not much it still is present and is fairly important. First, lets focus on Act II, Scene
III in the play, this play has the most symbolism throughout the whole play. This is where
Hansberry seems to incorporate symbolism in a subtle but very important way.
In about the beginning of the play we see that mama enters the room and crosses to check on a
plant on the window sill:
(She crosses through the room, goes to the window, opens it, and brings in a feeble little plant
growing doggedly in a small pot on the window sill. She feels the dirt and puts it back out.)
(Hansberry 1915)
It seems that mama really has an interest to care for this plant that does not seem to be doing so
well. She even states that the plant is not doing well:
MAMA: Lord, if this little old plant don t get more sun that it s been getting it ain t never going to
see spring again. (Hansberry 1915)
The plant seems to symbolism a few different ideas throughout the play but could possibly
symbolize much more.

The Stages Of Phil Runs
When PHIL runs, it has three distinct stages that the code runs through. First is the initialization
stage. This is where the code that needs to be set up first runs. The next stage is the execution
stage, which is arguably the most important stage. This is where the majority of the code executes.
Any code in the execution stage repeats until the user terminates it. The final stage is the
termination stage, which happens after the user terminates the execution stage. This is where all
tasks stop and any code which needs to complete, can do so safely. Tasks in PHIL are pieces of
code that will execute repeatedly. Tasks can be anything from the satellite propagation to the
sensors. The Lua script handles the scheduling, initializing, execution, and termination of these
tasks. Each task runs according to how the Lua script has it scheduled and the code will continue
to run until the user gives the command to terminate the task. Figure 2 shows the architecture of
PHIL. This portion of the reboot focuses on the simulation side and not the flight software side. As
these tasks run, they may have data that other tasks require to successfully run. A way of handling
this transfer of data from one task to another is to adopt a Publish and Subscribe System. This
system allows for the transferring of variables without getting in the way of the scheduler and
makes sure that all tasks receive the same data for that given moment of time. For example: The
satellite propagation publishes

The biggest challenge that they face as a company is they do not have the room the increase
expenditure by such a vast amount. Currently there is $3,675,000 in promotional dollars allocated
as follows; sales and administration expense (995,000), cooperative advertising programs with
retailers (1,650,000), consumer advertising (562,000) and trade promotion (467,000). adding the
$225,000 increase in consumer advertising will not allow the 5% of expected sales for total
promo expenditures. John Bott, the vice president of sales disagreed with the budget allocation
and noted that sales expenses and administration cost were projected to be $65,000 in 2008. This
led him to believe that an additional sales representative would be needed to service company
accounts because 50 were being added. Therefore he estimated this addition would cost at least
$70,000 including salary and expenses in 2008. Bott also stated that That s about $135,000 in
additional sales expense that have to be added to our promotional budget for 2008
My recommendation is that they do not invest the additional $225,000 in consumer advertising.
Considering the additional amount will only be going into magazines which do not provide enough
incentive for a purchase decision from the buyer. I believe that Haverwood should allocate the
amount 50/50 and invest half

Peter The Great Absolute Monarchy

absolute monarch? This is a form of government in which the ruling monarch has absolute power
amongst the people. The royal government is dominant and ruling over its own aristocrats and all
of the other authorities. Basically, in absolutism, there are no other powers that can hold more
ground than the monarchy itself. There are many absolute monarchs that are present in our
society and even to this day, However, I firmly believe that Peter the Great is the epitome of the
various absolute monarchs who ruled from 1682 1725. Prior to Peter the Great, Russia was

The World Is Bias Analysis
The world is biased whether some want to believe it or not. My own essay is biased.Whenever
someone is one sided we automatically accuse him or her of being quite prejudice. Humans are
always inclined to interpret situations in an individual way. People perceive each other in society
fairly critically and diminish traits by looking at someone s flaws. Although biascan be
detectable, some types of bias are hard to point out. We consistently categorize the world
attempting to lose threats. There is a variety of bias that is used in print media and also in person
but why is that? How would we be able to conquer this biases we have in society as it is? Firstly

New Mexican Culture In Bless Me, Ultima
Traditional New Mexican culture is the backbone of Bless Me, Ultima. Although there a lot of
qualities taken from the culture, readers will view the novel from multiple perspectives and
separate the realistic representations of the culture from fiction. Analyzing different elements from
the novel will demonstrate how the relationship between them brings the world of Bless Me,
Ultima to life. The elements of the llano, owl, and whirlwind will specifically examine Ultima and
her role as a curandera. These are just three of the elements, but all of them together are essential to
Tony s understanding of Ultima and his coming of age we see throughout the novel. In the
beginning of the novel, Antonio is with his siblings at night when they first... Show more content on

She teaches Antonio that even the plants [have] a spirit (Chapter 4). The llano is a sacred place
for her. The reader can see the importance of the care and handling of the plants is to Ultima
because she has a specific process of how to handle them. There is much history behind her
practice and she takes great pride in it. The llano is an extension of Ultima because as a
curandera, she uses plants as physical healing as well as spiritual healing. Ultima and Antonio have
an unexplainable connection through the whirlwind. When she places holds Antonio s hand, he
feels the four directions of the llano met in [him], and the white sun shone on his [soul]. This is
referencing an Aztec and indigenous perspective as physical and spiritual markers in finding one s
identity. Ultima is the whirlwind helping him to grow and mature into a young adult. In this scene,
the whirlwind is a powerful and positive force, but in western cultures, winds are almost always
seen as destructive and evil. This is a common contrast readers see throughout the novel with
Ultima. Each element, the owl, llano, and whirlwind, are a projection of everything Ultima
symbolizes. She is a guardian who watches over her family and the town, protecting them from the
evils that try to do harm. She is a healer that provides physical and mental healing. She is a teacher
that assists Antonio on his journey to becoming a young

Financial Principles and Concepts

Financial Principles and Concepts Financial concepts can be used when a company is considering
various options. Which options cost more and which options will result in higher gains are two of
the financial factors that affect decisions. In the University of Phoenix (n.d.) scenario, Guillermo s
Furniture Store has several options to consider which can help bring the revenues back to the
company. This paper explains and relates three basic principles and concepts to the scenario.
Financial Principles When it comes to corporate finance, there are many principles that are

Financial Concepts Financial concepts are just as easily related to the furniture store scenario as
the principles. The following concepts are only a few of the many financial concepts that are
important when making business decisions. Guillermo s furniture store provides many ways to
look at these concepts. An important financial concept, that can be applied in almost any situation,
financial or not, is the concept of the opportunity cost, or the difference between the value of one
action and the value of the best alternative, (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007, p. 20). Options are very
valuable and Guillermo had both the call option, the right to buy another company, and the put
option, the right to sell his company (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007). Guillermo s opportunity cost
would be the cost of not choosing one option, to buy or sell, over the other. Another cost concept
that can be applied involve sunk costs, costs that have already been incurred and subsequent
decisions cannot change them (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007). A sunk cost for Guillermo would
be the materials used in his special stain that he had already purchased before he chose the broker
option where his special stain was no longer needed. The zero sum game concept is when a
transaction occurs where one party gains at the expense of the other (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe,
2007). In this scenario, if

Winter Song Poetic Devices
The Winter Song
When this work was assigned, I immediately chose the winter song Jingle Bell Rock. In my
opinion, this song sounds like a typical puertorican song. It is happier, with a lot of movement. I
also like it because of all the poetic devices that the song has. I will be showing you some of these
poetic devices this song has.
The first poetic device that I found in the first line Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock (1).
Every time they say this line it means how much music there is in Christmas. Another poetic
device is Jingle bells ring (20). It means how the bells sound. In the analysis, I found how all the
music in christmas is related to the bells.
Also another poetic device is Snowing and blowing (3). They use

Why the Police were Unable to Catch Jack the Ripper Essay
Why the Police were Unable to Catch Jack the Ripper
In the Victorian Times, smog was a big problem. It made visibility extremely bad, so the murders
would have been harder to witness. There were lots of prostitutes because there weren t many
jobs available for woman, so they were forced on the streets. Most turned to alcohol. The people
out at the time of the murder would have been tramps and drunks, not reliable witnesses. The East
End streets were maze like, and easy to escape from. These were a few of the problems the police
encountered.

creating more racial hatred. The press received lots of letters from the murderer but held them
back. Like the Dear Boss letter, They didn t give it to the police for a few days, slowing down any
action that could have been taken.
The police had only just been set up when the murders occurred, so had no previous experience.
The only way to prove someone committed a murder was to catch them in the act or get a
confession. Though they increased the number of officers, they only ever came across the
bodies, warm. There was more than one police force operating in London at the time, which
meant that there was a lack of communication. In fact, the superior officers told their subordinates
to not reveal any evidence they retrieved to their rival force, each police force wanting the glory
of catching the Whitechapel murderer. The Metropolitan police force was responsible for all of
London, except the city of London, which had its own separate, City Police force. They were both
working on the case because one of the murders had been committed in the area where the City
Police operated, as opposed to the other ones which occurred in the Metropolitan police forces area.

While in the early 1920s, this was the time of the Great Depression, a time where poverty and

Essay on 1 Kings
1 Kings
Introduction In 1 Kings 18 19 we are introduced to one of the most magical men in the Bible, and
to one of the greatest miracles. Along with Moses and Jesus, Elijah is among the great miracle
workers of the world. Elijah used miracles to bring Israel up out of shambles, if just for a moment.
He also showed extreme faith and perseverance in the face of great odds. But the true character of
Elijah lies in his name, which literally means, Yahweh is my God (Anderson 246).
Prelude to The Contest
In order to understand chapters 18 and 19 of 1 Kings, one must get some background on its main
character. In 1 Kings 17, we are first introduced to Elijah. At the time, Israel is at one of its lowest
points. King Ahab and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elijah tells Obadiah to go to Ahab and tell him that he wants to meet with him. When the meeting
occurs, Ahab refers to Elijah as the troubler of Israel (1 Kings 18:17). Elijah responds by saying
that Israel has brought the trouble upon themselves by worshiping Baal. This is the first statement
of the reason that Elijah has been sent on this mission. Ahab is then instructed to gather all of his
people and the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:19).
It is at this point that we come to one of the most dramatic events in the entire Old Testament.
One man, Elijah, challenges the most powerful king in the land and his prophets to a contest of
faith. He declares that the worshipers of Baal will cut a bull into pieces and set it upon the altar
of Baal. As the lone representative of Yahweh, Elijah will then cut up a bull and set it upon the
altar of Yahweh. The prophets are then to call upon Baal to strike the altar with fire. Elijah will
then call upon Yahweh to strike his altar with fire. The true god could then be determined.
The prophets do as instructed and call upon Baal to ignite their altar. They call out and dance, but
nothing happened. All the while Elijah is taunting them, asking them why Baal is not responding.
The failure of Baal to react is made even more dramatic when one recognizes the fact that Baal is
the supposed god of weather,

Concentrated Growth
Concentrated growth is the first strategy of the fifteen principal grand strategies, Pearce Robinson
(2015) define concentration growth as firms that direct resources to the profitable growth of a
single product, in a single market, with a single dominant technology. Concentrated growth
typically sees the most success in mature markets where the product market is not saturated.
Concentrated growth is one of the lowest risk strategies, but only when used in a stable market
because it typically does not perform well in a market with a lot of up and down movement. A
volatile market could be disastrous if a company focuses in on one product and the market crashes
down around it. Sacramento Business College could potentially use concentrated growth to build
strength in one of their three major programs to build stronger enrollment and program upgrades.
The Information Technology (IT) program would benefit the most from adopting a concentrated
growth strategy because upgrading the curriculum would be fairly simple compared the other
programs and would be the most profitable program to have increased enrollment in.

NFL rules stipulate that footballs must be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch
and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.
Former NFL official Jim Daopoulos, in an interview with ESPN on Monday morning, explained
the process in which footballs are managed. Two hours and 15 minutes before each game, officials
inspect 12 footballs from each team and put a mark on them to indicate they meet the proper
requirements and are good for usage. Then those footballs are given to the ball attendant.
There also is a second set of six footballs, used specifically for the kicking game, that are marked
appropriately and remain in the possession of officials at all times.
Officials check balls as they go into the game, and if the ball doesn t feel perfect, they can throw it
out, Daopoulos said. There is always the possibility that balls can lose air due to the conditions.
A team can be fined if it is found to be knowingly altering the weight of the football.
The NFL s game operations manual states: Once the balls have left the locker room, no one,
including players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs
in any way. If any individual alters the footballs, or if a non approved ball is used in the game, the
person responsible and, if appropriate, the head coach or other club personnel will be subject to
discipline, including but not limited to, a fine of $25,000.

Comp 2 Class Reflection
Writing is a skill that needs to be practiced. Before this class, I didn t care about the writing because
my high school teachers didn t care about my writing, as long as I turn a paper, I would be fine.
Now, at the end of my Comp 2 class, I can assure I have improved my skills. From simply using

another example is the class, instead of writing ENGL 1231 201 I wrote ENGL 1231, Section 201.

Ayurveda As The Mother Of All Healing Essay
Ayurveda is known as the Mother of All Healing (Parasuraman, 2014). The term Ayurveda is
from Sanskrit. Ayu means life and Veda means knowledge. Ayurveda means the science of life. It
is the science of life that determines and guides one on how to live a happy, healthy, and long life.
Ayurveda consists of many concepts, ideas, remedies, and therapies that are useful in achieving a
perfect balance in life. The perfect balance of mind, body, and soul is considered to be complete
health in Ayurveda(Behere, 2013). Ayurveda does not focus only on the body or solely the mind.
In Ayurveda, to reach the highest level of happiness and health, the mind, body and the soul needs
to be treated. The mind, body and soul are all aspects of one s life that impact health, mood,
energy, etc. Ayurveda does not consider an organism a system of organs but a system of
relationships which define the functions (Jayasundar, 2010). Ayurveda is a holistic science that
aims to promote health and longevity, prevent illness, and serve as a system of healing the whole
person, body and mind (Behere, 2013). Three Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha
In Ayurveda, the imbalance in life is categorized into doshas. Doshas are the elements that make up
the body. The literal meaning of doshas is that which can become vitiated (Jayasundar, 2010).
Doshas have different functions but they work together to lead to balance in the body. The doshas
are the balances and display homeostasis. Homeostasis in

Dead Sea Scrolls Important To The World Today
The finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls is very important to the world today because they show
tangible evidence that God s Word is real and everlasting. They have had the greatest Biblical
impact on holy and historic events throughout history. The Dead Sea Scrolls have even been called
the greatest manuscript discovery of modern times. For these reasons, the Dead Sea Scrollsare
important to us today.
The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of different texts that were first discovered by a young boy
named Juma and his cousins, who were Bedouin goat herders, in 1947 in a cave at the Khirbet
Qumran in the West Bank near the Dead Sea, from which they derive their name. Then, in 1949
archaeologists searched and discovered more scrolls in ten other caves in the area. The texts are of
great historical and religious value. They include the third oldest known surviving texts of works
included in the Bible and they date back 1,000 years from the oldest known texts at that time and
are when Jesus lived. They also contain previously unknown stories about biblical figures. The
texts are written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Probably the Dead Sea Scrolls have had the
greatest Biblical impact. They have provided Old Testament manuscripts. The Dead Sea Scrolls
have demonstrated that the Old Testament was accurately transmitted during this interval. In
addition, they provide a wealth of information on the times leading up to, and during, the life of

Benefits Of Live And Virtual Domains Enhances Training
Air Force units and personnel need to train in a complex tactical, operational, and strategic level
environment, under all likely threat and weather conditions, emulating potential contingency
locations world wide, while integrating with composite, joint, and coalition partners. XX
Combining the unique benefits of live and virtual domains enhances training by increasing
opportunities to train with joint and multinational partners, enabling realistic combat scenarios, and
ensuring interoperability of systems. While live training exercises are limited by the number of
players available, through distributed LVC OT more players can be brought into training
scenarios. This expanded access to training events allows for a realistic blue forcelaydown for
readiness training that supports specific theater campaign plans and named operations. Rather
than relying on costly just in time live mission rehearsals, joint and combined forces tied together

The Philosophy Of Progressive Education
Progressive Education
Progressive Education refers to a pedagogical movement that started as a means to reform
traditional teaching methods. The approach in Progressive Education is a method of teaching that
recognises the value of self expression, flexible and informal classroom atmosphere and proper
attention for every student. It lays emphasis on learning through experience rather than memorising
facts without having clear understanding of certain concepts and literature. Progressive Education is
a result of the progressive thought of various 19th century educators who decided that there had to
be a better way of imparting knowledge and educating children. Some influential progressive
educators were John Dewey and William H. Kirkpatrick.
The primary philosophy behind Progressive Education is to build a system of education where a

Usually, such type of teaching is characterised by a rigid classroom atmosphere wherein the teacher
stands in the front of the classroom and teaches by delivering lectures. There is minimal scope for

students the flexibility and opportunity to question things, concepts and supports a method of
leaning where students are allowed to explore their capacities. It teaches them how to think about
certain things and question them, and not about what to think and passively accept as facts of life.
This type of teaching acknowledges the need for greater interest and depth of understanding.

Analysis Of Dave Barry s Guys Vs.
A short essay Guys vs. Men written by Dave Barry, presents Dave s perception on the difference
between Guys and Men . Dave presents his essay in a comical way that generalizes the men vs.
guys and also gender biased generalization. Dave argues that men hold too much of responsibilities
and many expectations in which guys do not and they live happier life. One of the methods he uses
to support his argument is a comparison. Other method he uses is the description of how he views
men vs. guys and gives his perspective. And the last method he uses to further his argument is the
use of hyperbole, exaggerationthrough out the essay.
First method of development Dave uses to further his argument is a comparision and gender biased
generalization. His temptation to buy new and unnecessary things just because he is a guy can be
compared when he compares females urge to rearrange furniture with males urge of using newest
and latest technical equipments. Dave separates guys and women by giving their choice that is
somewhat statistically true, that women are more interested in decorating house oppose to
buying latest version of technical items. Dave s use of logos play significant role here to support
his argument. Not only he compares guys and women, but also guys with his auxiliary dog. (919).
He compares that guys do not follow rules even though they know they are not suppose to do
things they do, just like his small auxiliary backup dog. Dave is saying that his

The Major Economic Problems That Have Plagued Latin America

During the 20th century Latin America went through a change after the U.S made the clam to

this gap the poor gets poorer and the rich become Carlos Slim. Carlos Slim was the world s

The Five Themes Of Geography In Wailuku
My name is Elijah Holdeman I was born in Wailuku, (Maui) Hawaii. Today I would like to visit the
five themes of geography in Wailuku. We will look at the location, the place, the region, the human
/environment interactions, and the movement. LOCATION
Wailuku is located in the North East Part of Maui on the border of the peninsula sticking out to
the ocean. Wailuku in ancient times was home to many ancient hawaiian rulers including
kamehameha (1758 1782). In the 19 hundreds Wailuku became the location of the century
mission stations and the birthplace of the great sugar industries. I believe this area was chosen
because it separates the past two great water supplies. Now it is a beach front and central power
area. (20*53 31* N 156*30,8* W) East of The mainland U.S.. PLACE ... Show more content on

A lot of roads are different than roads in the main land. Human characteristics includes natives
beating up or harming foreigners (haole). Most humans are Hawaiian or Japanese. The natural
environment is the mountain peak pu u kukui. And the beach all other land is houses and resorts.
The difference between Wailuku and other towns in hawaiiis the reason it was built, the history, the
wars and battles, and the central of government. At this day and age it is a mix of many different
cultures. In the ancient times there was only polynesian culture. At this time it is around half native
hawaiians and half a mixtures of different

Green Eggs And Ham By Dr Seuss
My favorite childhood book was called, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Green Eggs and
Ham is about how Sam wants his friend to try green eggs and ham, and after much convincing, he
tries them and likes them ( WikiSummaries , 2016). The theme of this book is about how you
shouldn t make up your mind about something without trying it. This book is about imagination
and the genre of the story is comedy. I remember reading this book for the first time and I really
enjoyed the book because it was funny and it was fun to read. I also learned a lot from this book
because the theme is about how you shouldn t make up your mind about something without trying
it. This means you shouldn t jump into not trying something fast without seeing if you

Planet Of Slums By Mike Davis
In the book, Planet of Slums Mike Davis discusses, why there are mast migration from the rural
villages to the megacities of the Third World. What megacities are is a city when the total
population in it exceeds over eight million. He also discusses how the treason of the state,
international banks and the ideas thinkers like Hernando de Soto makes the lives of people in the
urban south much worse. Urban south are cities like Mexico City, Delhi, Dhaka, Cairo, Beijing,
Lima and etc (Davis 4) that experience in major increase in population by more than ten times its
size from 1950 to 2004, it is cities in the third world. Mike Davis believed that, the government,
international banks and thinkers such as Hernando de Soto are the one responsible for making the
condition in the urban south terrible for the poor while good only for the officials and the rich.
Mike Davis says that after 1950, people moved from villages to the cities despite knowing that
the condition in those cities are bad. [In urban south people are poor and hungry so they do any
job to make money. Such as, picking up cigarette bud, selling body parts, and etc]An example that,
Mike Davis gives is why the population in the cities at china is increasing.
It is, instead, the small to medium sized cities and recently city ized towns that have absorbed the
majority of the rural labor power made redundant by post 1979 market reforms. In part, this is the
result of conscious planning: since the 1970s the

Analyzing Richard Branson Essay
For the purposes of our assignment I will attempt to put Richard Branson in a sort of box that he
would surely object to and would certainly pop out of like a jack in the box. The difficulty with
attempting to analyze the leadership style of Branson is that everything that has been written about
him prefaces his achievement with his larger than life personality. There s no denying that Branson
is fun and passionate, but he s also very bright and very hardworking. I think that if Branson took
the Myers Briggs Type Indicator Profile he would discover that he is ENTP: an extroverted,
intuitive, thinking, perceiving human being. From his autobiography, Losing My Virginity it s
clear that Branson is action oriented, enthusiastic and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and someone s passing on an idea in a drunken slur. Good ideas come from people everywhere,
not [only] in the boardroom. One might also argue that his extroversion is also well documented
from his hot air balloon rides to the very name he selected to represent his brand. A brand name
like Virgin demands recognition just for the name itself and I m sure in 1970 s England it drew
the attention. Virgin seems to have a knack for doing things in a sort of fun way no matter what
the product. When you think of Virgin Mobile, you think about how easy they made it for
anyone (everyone) to have cell service. Similarly, Virgin Atlantic seems to make travel for
anyone easier and a possibility by offering lower fares to many destinations. You imagine a
younger hip executive flying Virgin Atlantic, while a stodgier older executive would fly British
Airways. Even ventures that failed, such as Virgin Vodka, still conjure up the idea of fun. It s
become a way of life brand . In Good to Great, Collins discusses how Philip Morris found success
when it diversified away from tobaccos by staying close to sinful products such as coffee,
chocolates and beer. In a similar way, Virgin has branded its easy, fun, energetic way about doing
things. We even joked in class that a Virgin bank might be the fun bank to transact business.
Branson is not only passionate about the business that he at the helm of, but he also finds time

The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende Essay
In the novel The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende the epilogue is a conclusion to all that has
happening in the novel. In the novel The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende the epilogue is a
conclusion to all that has happening in the novel. In demonstrates the overall themes of recurring
cycles throughout the lives of the characters, and also of the importance of the past and memories.
The cycles run throughout the book, but in the epilogue we see how they are beginning to be
broken and new cycles are being formed. The tone of the final chapter is both hopeful and cheerful
at the beginning, and melancholic almost to depression by the end. The symbol of the old house on

This relates the end of the novel back to the start. Another connection between the finish and
start of the novel is that at the last paragraph states, Clara wrote them so they would help me
now to reclaim the past and overcome terrors of my own. The first is an ordinary school
copybook with twenty pages, written in a child s delicate calligraphy. It begins like this:
Barrabas came to us by sea... while on the first page is begins Barrabas came to us by sea, the
child Clara wrote in her delicate calligraphy. She was already in the habit of writing down
important matters, and afterward, when she was mute, she also recorded trivialities, never
suspecting that fifty years later I would use her notebooks to reclaim the past and overcome
terrors of my own. This completes the cycle of the novel, by coming full circle back to the
beginning. However, although Alba is continuing the cycles, she is also breaking them. The most
important cycle she is stopping is the cycle of revenge that is ongoing through the book. Even
though she would like to get even with Esteban Garcia for raping and torturing her, she realizes that
he only did it to get revenge for what her grandfather did to his grandmother. Alba states The day
my grandfather tumbled his grandmother, Pancha Garcia, among the rushes of the riverbank, he
added another link to the chain of events that had to complete itself. Afterward the grandson of the
woman who was raped repeats the

  • 2. Why Was The Anzac Day Important In Australia Why is the Anzac legend important for future generations? It was a remarkable day and a day in which it was easy to pick out the wasters, also the brave men. I am delighted with our Australian troops, the way they take the gruel is splendid. (T. J. Richards https://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/04/17/1082140118215.html ) ANZAC day is a very special and important day to Australians. It is a day where we honour and remember the soldiers who fought and died for our country. It is also a day where we come together and appreciate our freedom and reflect back on how far Australia has come since WWI. Most importantly, it is a day to reflect on the spirit of the ANZACs. During the 19th century, Australia s first involvement in the great war in 1915, meant changes to lives of people from all walks of life, out on the battlefields and even back home, in Australia. The impact on ultimately all aspect of Australian society, however, did not end when the guns fell silent in November 1918. Instead, it was continued for years, when the tens of thousands of soldiers returned with their problems because of the war which it effects on Australian life seem much more apparent. The war s impact in Australia, in terms of food, was generally its increase in price by 32% between 1914 and 1918, which was very low compared to other European countries, where there was also rationing, because of food shortages. WW1 also impacted them by the effected the put towards the war and to see people to know who they were. Without WW1 we probably won t be here today under a roof with our phones and TVs we have today. To all Australians, ANZAC day is a tradition, paid for in blood and celebrated in our freedom. It is a day in which not only do we salute the ANZACs, but in paying tribute to them, we also take the opportunity to invigorate our national spirit and pride. Ever since WW1 Australia has had more freedom then they did back in 1913. One of the main reasons why many soldiers sign up to go to the war was to get more freedom and to be able to make their own choices. Thanks to the soldiers, today Australia ... Modern Nation State developed over the 20th century to compensate for the inadequacy portrayed by pluralistic empires and extreme nationalism. • 8. Speech On Social Expectations Often in their lives, individuals are plagued by unrealistic societal expectations that threaten individual s personal moralities which lead them to act in certain ways that they would later regret. A person s desire to be a part of a community, one in which they can feel accepted by social standards, is what can ultimately bring them to their morality s demise. Despite having social expectations bring down one s honour due to certain situations, it is important to remember that at times, it is not the outside world that inherently plagues individuals, rather, it can be the individuals themselves. Social expectations that seep into our own egos have the power to make one s own expectations into something that can set individuals up for failure. However, as tragic as certain mistakes can be, it is important to remember that the recovery from one s downfall is what matters the most. In order to effectively restore honour and certainty in oneself, one must learn to take a proactive approach to their adversities stemming from unrealistic social standards that brought them to their downfall. As human beings require feelings of accomplishment, honour, and certainty in order to most effectively function and achieve other feats in their lives, a proactive approach to the adversities that threaten their honour and certainty is vital. Recently, I have been dealing with my own struggles with restoring honour in my work and certainty in my capabilities. In grade 9 when I signed up to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Effects Of Technology On Companionship I am writing to you to talk to you about how technology is growing and how it is impacting people s humanity. Some may say technology is impacting people positively but my worry is that technology can hinder people s humanity the same way it helps others. It has and still will negatively impacted on our everyday lives and our humanity if actions are not taken. I believe technology is affecting companionship due to the constant use of cellphone to communicate with friends and family. This trait of humanity is crucial in our lives because friends have alway been there to help us get through rough times as well as bringing out the true side of you. Throughout history companionship has alway part an significant role in people s lives as demonstrated in the oldest piece of literature, an epic called Gilgamesh. In the epic, the main character Gilgamesh went through many journeys with his best friend, Enkidu, who always had Gilgamesh s back. For instance, the time that Gilgamesh was afraid to face Humbababut Enkidu stepped up to protect Gilgamesh. Today, technology has grown so much that we are able to communicate with cellphone via texting which is causing people to forget how to have a real conversation. But the bright side is that people are able have complete control over what you re going say. To start off, the basic to companionship is the fact that conversion is an essential to making friends and talking to them. Texting is become an important part of people s lives that ... Before the term flapper began to describe the young independently minded woman of the early Twenties (Mowry 173), the definition that is most prominent today, it had a 300 year long history. The young woman of the 1920 s was new and rebellious. In her appearance and demeanor, she broke the social constructs of her society. When the war started, women had to take over the jobs of men and they learned to be independent. These women exemplified the beginning of change. The car, a new invention, was another tool in their rebellion; it was fast and could be reckless. Flappers used cars for three purposes: to drive, to ride and for petting . Petting was the sexual activity practiced in the back seats of cars. People also had petting parties, which mortified the older generation. The carefree attitude of the younger generation was attributed to the psychological trauma caused by the unprecedented casualty level of the war. This generation had the theory that each day might be the last, therefore lived it to the fullest. This mental change was accompanied by a change in the physical styles of women. Fashion trends that were held in high regard by tradition were challenged to demonstrate the new risquГ© way of life. The Gibson glamour girl preceding the flapper wore long tresses, a high neck starched shirt, and a long skirt over restrictive undergarments. The flapper did not adhere to these types of restrictions. Pantaloons and corsets, the Gibson girl s undergarments, were not conducive to the dancing of the flapper or the need for physical freedom. They were replaced by underwear called step ins (Rosenberg 2). The flapper fashion showed much more skin than the Gibson girl s outfit. • 16. Theme Of Symbolism In A Raisin In The Sun Symbolism is by far one of the most intriguing figurative language devices in English literature. It can make a simple, little object so much more important than it actually seems, all that s needed is to peek behind the curtains a little, add some imagination and some deep thought. Symbolism is a very powerful aspect that can add much more emotion and context to almost anything, symbolism is practically everywhere. There is even symbolism in Lorraine Hansberry s play, A Raisin in the Sun, although not much it still is present and is fairly important. First, lets focus on Act II, Scene III in the play, this play has the most symbolism throughout the whole play. This is where Hansberry seems to incorporate symbolism in a subtle but very important way. In about the beginning of the play we see that mama enters the room and crosses to check on a plant on the window sill: (She crosses through the room, goes to the window, opens it, and brings in a feeble little plant growing doggedly in a small pot on the window sill. She feels the dirt and puts it back out.) (Hansberry 1915) It seems that mama really has an interest to care for this plant that does not seem to be doing so well. She even states that the plant is not doing well: MAMA: Lord, if this little old plant don t get more sun that it s been getting it ain t never going to see spring again. (Hansberry 1915) The plant seems to symbolism a few different ideas throughout the play but could possibly symbolize much more. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Stages Of Phil Runs When PHIL runs, it has three distinct stages that the code runs through. First is the initialization stage. This is where the code that needs to be set up first runs. The next stage is the execution stage, which is arguably the most important stage. This is where the majority of the code executes. Any code in the execution stage repeats until the user terminates it. The final stage is the termination stage, which happens after the user terminates the execution stage. This is where all tasks stop and any code which needs to complete, can do so safely. Tasks in PHIL are pieces of code that will execute repeatedly. Tasks can be anything from the satellite propagation to the sensors. The Lua script handles the scheduling, initializing, execution, and termination of these tasks. Each task runs according to how the Lua script has it scheduled and the code will continue to run until the user gives the command to terminate the task. Figure 2 shows the architecture of PHIL. This portion of the reboot focuses on the simulation side and not the flight software side. As these tasks run, they may have data that other tasks require to successfully run. A way of handling this transfer of data from one task to another is to adopt a Publish and Subscribe System. This system allows for the transferring of variables without getting in the way of the scheduler and makes sure that all tasks receive the same data for that given moment of time. For example: The satellite propagation publishes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Currently there is $3,675,000 in promotional dollars allocated as follows; sales and administration expense (995,000), cooperative advertising programs with retailers (1,650,000), consumer advertising (562,000) and trade promotion (467,000). adding the $225,000 increase in consumer advertising will not allow the 5% of expected sales for total promo expenditures. John Bott, the vice president of sales disagreed with the budget allocation and noted that sales expenses and administration cost were projected to be $65,000 in 2008. This led him to believe that an additional sales representative would be needed to service company accounts because 50 were being added. Therefore he estimated this addition would cost at least $70,000 including salary and expenses in 2008. Bott also stated that That s about $135,000 in additional sales expense that have to be added to our promotional budget for 2008 My recommendation is that they do not invest the additional $225,000 in consumer advertising. This is a form of government in which the ruling monarch has absolute power amongst the people. The royal government is dominant and ruling over its own aristocrats and all of the other authorities. Basically, in absolutism, there are no other powers that can hold more ground than the monarchy itself. There are many absolute monarchs that are present in our society and even to this day, However, I firmly believe that Peter the Great is the epitome of the various absolute monarchs who ruled from 1682 1725. Although there a lot of qualities taken from the culture, readers will view the novel from multiple perspectives and separate the realistic representations of the culture from fiction. The following concepts are only a few of the many financial concepts that are important when making business decisions. Guillermo s furniture store provides many ways to look at these concepts. An important financial concept, that can be applied in almost any situation, financial or not, is the concept of the opportunity cost, or the difference between the value of one action and the value of the best alternative, (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007, p. 20). Options are very valuable and Guillermo had both the call option, the right to buy another company, and the put option, the right to sell his company (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007). Guillermo s opportunity cost would be the cost of not choosing one option, to buy or sell, over the other. Another cost concept that can be applied involve sunk costs, costs that have already been incurred and subsequent decisions cannot change them (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007). A sunk cost for Guillermo would be the materials used in his special stain that he had already purchased before he chose the broker option where his special stain was no longer needed. The zero sum game concept is when a transaction occurs where one party gains at the expense of the other (Emery, Finnerty, Stowe, 2007). In this scenario, if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is the first statement of the reason that Elijah has been sent on this mission. Ahab is then instructed to gather all of his people and the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:19). It is at this point that we come to one of the most dramatic events in the entire Old Testament. One man, Elijah, challenges the most powerful king in the land and his prophets to a contest of faith. Former NFL official Jim Daopoulos, in an interview with ESPN on Monday morning, explained the process in which footballs are managed. Two hours and 15 minutes before each game, officials inspect 12 footballs from each team and put a mark on them to indicate they meet the proper requirements and are good for usage. Then those footballs are given to the ball attendant. There also is a second set of six footballs, used specifically for the kicking game, that are marked appropriately and remain in the possession of officials at all times. Officials check balls as they go into the game, and if the ball doesn t feel perfect, they can throw it out, Daopoulos said. There is always the possibility that balls can lose air due to the conditions. A team can be fined if it is found to be knowingly altering the weight of the football. The NFL s game operations manual states: Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs in any way. Dave argues that men hold too much of responsibilities and many expectations in which guys do not and they live happier life. One of the methods he uses to support his argument is a comparison. Other method he uses is the description of how he views men vs. guys and gives his perspective. And the last method he uses to further his argument is the use of hyperbole, exaggerationthrough out the essay. First method of development Dave uses to further his argument is a comparision and gender biased generalization. His temptation to buy new and unnecessary things just because he is a guy can be compared when he compares females urge to rearrange furniture with males urge of using newest and latest technical equipments. Dave separates guys and women by giving their choice that is somewhat statistically true, that women are more interested in decorating house oppose to buying latest version of technical items. Dave s use of logos play significant role here to support his argument. Not only he compares guys and women, but also guys with his auxiliary dog. (919). He compares that guys do not follow rules even though they know they are not suppose to do things they do, just like his small auxiliary backup dog. Dave is saying that his ... • 45. Planet Of Slums By Mike Davis In the book, Planet of Slums Mike Davis discusses, why there are mast migration from the rural villages to the megacities of the Third World. What megacities are is a city when the total population in it exceeds over eight million. He also discusses how the treason of the state, international banks and the ideas thinkers like Hernando de Soto makes the lives of people in the urban south much worse. Urban south are cities like Mexico City, Delhi, Dhaka, Cairo, Beijing, Lima and etc (Davis 4) that experience in major increase in population by more than ten times its size from 1950 to 2004, it is cities in the third world. Mike Davis believed that, the government, international banks and thinkers such as Hernando de Soto are the one responsible for making the condition in the urban south terrible for the poor while good only for the officials and the rich. Mike Davis says that after 1950, people moved from villages to the cities despite knowing that the condition in those cities are bad. • 46. Analyzing Richard Branson Essay For the purposes of our assignment I will attempt to put Richard Branson in a sort of box that he would surely object to and would certainly pop out of like a jack in the box. The difficulty with attempting to analyze the leadership style of Branson is that everything that has been written about him prefaces his achievement with his larger than life personality. There s no denying that Branson is fun and passionate, but he s also very bright and very hardworking. I think that if Branson took the Myers Briggs Type Indicator Profile he would discover that he is ENTP: an extroverted, intuitive, thinking, perceiving human being. From his autobiography, Losing My Virginity it s clear that Branson is action oriented, enthusiastic and... One might also argue that his extroversion is also well documented from his hot air balloon rides to the very name he selected to represent his brand. A brand name like Virgin demands recognition just for the name itself and I m sure in 1970 s England it drew the attention. Virgin seems to have a knack for doing things in a sort of fun way no matter what the product. When you think of Virgin Mobile, you think about how easy they made it for anyone (everyone) to have cell service. Similarly, Virgin Atlantic seems to make travel for anyone easier and a possibility by offering lower fares to many destinations. You imagine a younger hip executive flying Virgin Atlantic, while a stodgier older executive would fly British Airways. Even ventures that failed, such as Virgin Vodka, still conjure up the idea of fun. It s become a way of life brand . In Good to Great, Collins discusses how Philip Morris found success when it diversified away from tobaccos by staying close to sinful products such as coffee, chocolates and beer. In a similar way, Virgin has branded its easy, fun, energetic way about doing things. We even joked in class that a Virgin bank might be the fun bank to transact business. Branson is not only passionate about the business that he at the helm of, but he also finds time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
