Brand Equity
UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY
ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS
Kevin Lane Keller Tuck School of Business Dartmouth College
UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY
ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS One of the most popular and potentially
important marketing topics to arise in the 1980 s was the concept of brand equity. The emergence of
brand equity, however, has meant both good news and bad news. The good news is that it has raised
the importance of the brand in marketing strategy which heretofore had been relatively neglected and
provided impetus for managerial interest and academic research activity. The bad news is that the
concept has been defined a number of different ways for a number of different purposes, ... Show

Role of brands to consumers. To consumers, brands provide important functions. Brands identify the
source or maker of a product and allow consumers to assign responsibility as to which particular
manufacturer, distributor, or provider should be held accountable. More importantly, brands can take
on special meaning to consumers. Because of past experiences with the product and its marketing
program over the years, consumers learn about brands. They find out which brands satisfy their needs
and which ones do not. As a result, brands provide a shorthand device or means of simplification for
their product decisions. If consumers recognize a brand and have some knowledge about it, then they
do not have to engage in a lot of additional thought or processing of information to make a product
decision. Thus, from an economic perspective, brands allow consumers to lower search costs for
products both internally (in terms of how much they have to think) and externally (in terms of how
much they have to look around). Based on what they already know about the brand its quality, product
characteristics, etc. consumers can make assumptions and

Fertility Rate And Age Specific Fertility Rates
This paper will explore the population phenomena pertaining to Singapore acquiring and sustaining
low fertility, which has ultimately resulted in an ageing population. There is a multitude of
interconnected factors that have contributed to Singapore s low fertility, and more importantly how
this has reduced younger populations being added every year. However, this paper will focus on the
premise that women s higher educational attainment has prompted a delay in marriage, and thus a
delay in having babies. Therefore, this paper will evaluate statistics retrieved from the International
Data Base from the Census Bureau Website that include the Total Fertility Rate and Age Specific
Fertility Rate in Singapore over a span of twenty years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Age Specific Fertility Rate is contingent on the age of a woman and places her in groups of
women based on their age and then predicts how many babies each woman is expected to have over a
period of time based on a specific population (Poston Bouvier, 2010, p. 45). In Singapore, the Age
Specific Fertility Rate peaked for women between the ages 30 34 in 1997, 2007, and 2017. However,
while there was a reduction in fertility rates for all ages across a women s life span from 1997 to 2007,
there was a slight increase in fertility rates in 2017 for the age groups 30 34, 34 39, 40 44, and 45 49
(Refer to Graph 1). While elderly women tend to have fewer babies on average than younger ones,
which is true for Singapore, the slight increase in childbearing in later years indicates changes in the
structure of individual lives and the society as a whole. This data ultimately suggests that women in
Singapore are waiting longer to get married and have children, which are pertinent causes of the
country s low fertility and ageing population. While there are many societal and economic factors
contributing to delays in marriage and reproduction, this paper will focus primarily on the increase of
Singaporean women obtaining higher education and subsequently joining the workforce. In the article,

English Major Essay
In recent years, the English major has faced an increasing amount of scrutiny. While the number of
English majors throughout the United States is rapidly declining, majors with roots in science,
technology, engineering, and math are praised as worthwhile and immediately beneficial. Beginning
shortly after the Great Recession of 2008 2009, humanities based majors have been deemed
expendable and trivial. President Barack Obama s 2011 State of the Union Address only served to
propel this mindset as he renewed his commitment for his Educate to Innovate platform that
specifically targets [science, technology, engineering, and math degrees] as a means of helping to
rebuild America s economic edge (Luangphinith 64). In effect, society now surmises English as
archaic and obsolete in the quick paced world (65). Although the English major is plagued with a

Some assumed career paths include teaching or writing novels, but the English major s world is much
broader than just a few tired options. English majors can be found alongside science based majors,
penning articles for scientific publications because many [scientists] never received the education in
the humanities... that would allow [them] to explain to nonscientists what [they] do and why it is
important (Jackson Hayes). They are seen drafting contracts in support of the Department of Defense
or ensuring policy is followed in the spheres of information, communication, industrial, and personnel
security. They are chosen to head major companies due to their ability to communicate with others.
Some even find a niche in interacting with foreign customers because they are already equipped with
the sense of appreciation for different cultures and customs. English majors are not simply restricted
to a classroom. They, with a plethora of literature under their belts, are taking on the world in an

Why Do Monarch Butterflies Move
Mexico was once the locations where large colonies of monarch butterflies migrated to. However in
the recent years the size of the colonies have began to shrink. The monarch butterflies tend to
hibernate in the winter in reserve forests. It is believed one reason for the decline of monarch
butterflies migrating to the reserve forests in Mexico is because of the number of insects in these
forests had increased along with the destruction of these forrest. Another reason for monarch
butterflies migrating to these different areas is to follow their food source which is the milkweed. The
milkweed was at one time found in large numbers through out Canda. However due to climate
changes throughout North America which included freezing teperatures and

Historiography Of The British Empire
Any historiography of The British Raj must first start with the understanding that The British Raj fits
within the broader historic concept of The British Empire. In the late 19th Century, many historians
proposed that the history of The British Empire could be broken down into The First British Empire
and The Second British Empire. The British Raj falls within the category of The Second British
Empire within this view. The previous British involvement in India, via The East India Company,
would largely fall within First British Empire. The opinions of historians, not any official decree by
British law or authorities, are the basis for the concept of multiple periods of The British Empire.
There was never an official start, or end date, for either period of empire. The British Empire was
never an official entity, as in there was not a document or constitution dictating how it was
administered. As a result, the colonial administrations varied depending on the colony to which they
belonged. The views on The British Empire, during its height, were not a single monolithic view
shared by all British citizens, but varied across the full spectrum from unwavering support to strong
opposition. Joseph Chamberlain s 1897 book The True Conception of Empire provides an excellent
quote that sums up a common mindset of the era. We feel now that our rule over these territories can
only be justified if we can show that it adds to the happiness and prosperity of the people,

KPMG Sued by New Century Trustee Over Subprime Lender s Demise
By Sophia Pearson April 2, 2009 00:36 EDT
April 2 (Bloomberg) KPMG International, which oversees the fourth largest U.S. accounting firm,
was sued by the trustee for bankrupt subprime lender New Century Financial Corp. over claims it
failed in its role as gatekeeper.
Negligent audits and reviews by KPMG LLP, the U.S. member firm of KPMG International, led to
New Century s collapse, according to lawsuits filed yesterday in state court in Los Angeles and federal
court in New York. The suits, filed against both KPMG International and KPMG LLP, seek at least $1

KPMG advised New Century to alter the way it calculated reserves for repurchasing mortgage loans
that didn t meet certain conditions, according to the Los Angeles complaint. New Century s
calculations for required reserves were wrong and violated generally accepted accounting principles,
the complaint said.
Mistakes in calculation grew to more than $300 million and repurchase requests soared to $8 billion
once New Century s true financial condition was known, the complaint said. The company could no
longer borrow money to finance its lending business and collapsed owing billions.
Professional Standards
Any claim that we acquiesced to client demands is unsupportable, Ginsburg said. KPMG acted in
accordance with professional standards in New Century, and we will vigorously defend our audit
work.
Last year, a report by bankruptcy court examiner Michael J. Missal concluded KPMG could be
accused of professional and negligent misrepresentation although the firm had possible legal defenses
to such claims. The 581 page report, unsealed in March 2008, didn t conclude that KPMG engaged in
fraud.
Thomas, the trustee s attorney, won a $521.7 million verdict in a similar lawsuit brought by a
Portuguese bank against BDO Seidman, the seventh largest U.S. accounting firm. A jury found in
August 2007 that the firm failed to detect a fraud leading to the collapse of a client of Banco Espirito

My Life As A Registered Nurse
Have you ever had a moment in life that validated the direction in which you felt compelled to follow?
A moment which never escapes your mind because it represents one of the purest, symbolic instances
you have experienced? Or a moment as simple as being handed a book to encourage you to further
your dream? A time to inspire you to succeed in becoming something even more significant than you
already are? Or had a moment offering you the opportunity to enhance your knowledge, and thrust
yourself into the world you so deeply want to be a part of? I was handed the Merck Manual along with
a kind gesture and warm hearted encouragement which aided in igniting a fire, reaffirming what I felt

Having the ability to comprehend and sympathize with individuals that came into the clinic for
different medical conditions not only made me a better person but will also make me a more
competent nurse in my future. I still have the manual I was given that fateful day. I will never get rid
of it. I will cherish the manual and the memory of the kind lady that gave it to me. Mary believed in
me and my future. The tome means more to me than I could ever portray on paper. The manual not
only lit a fire in my soul but represents my goal. This symbolism is what makes me continue to carry it
from home to home. Having someone believe so deeply in me and always encouraging me to follow
my dream was very instrumental during the time that I worked for the clinic, and continues to be as I
continue on my path of becoming an RN. I will use The Merck Manual again, now that I am actively
pursuing my nursing degree. It will be a fundamental instrument to refresh my mind on diagnosis,
treatments, procedures, and other things I may have forgotten. It will reacquaint me with the world of
which I truly desire to be a part

Comparing Sexuality In Stephanie Meyer And Twilight By...
If there is one thing that has not changed in the past one hundred years it is the populations love for a
thrilling, eerie story; including those about vampires. However, what has changed in the last one
hundred years is cultural appropriation and the idea of vampirism itself. So despite being written in
two entirely different centuries with two entirely different vampire etiquettes, the novels Twilight by
young adult author Stephanie Meyer and Dracula by 19th century gothic author Bram Stoker, both use
of the matter of sexuality through characters actions and to help develop the good vs. evil based plot
throughout the stories. Although there are no actual physical acts of sex done by the characters in
either of the two novels, the lust and idea of sexuality is extremely present in the characters behaviors
throughout both. In Twilight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

stared because their faces, so different, so similar, were all devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful. (Meyer
19) To most vampires this attention the Cullens receive would be ideal, however because they choose
not to feed on humans this makes it all the more difficult for them to resist. It is the physical attraction
as well as reaction Bella has towards Edward that initially brings them together, and what keeps Bella
around. She knows the risk she is taking by being with Edward and consequently being with him is
what got her involved with the evil vampire, James, which created the main conflict in the book. There
is no exception to the physical beauty of the vampires in Dracula either. It is stated several times
throughout the book that creates a longing feeling towards the monsters even though they know it

Global Warming Is One Of The Biggest Concerns To Our Planet.
Global Warming is one of the biggest concerns to our planet. As of right now, ice caps are melting, sea
temperatures have risen, and animals have changed their migrating patterns. Not only this, but plants
are blooming earlier and fish are migrating towards cooler water. These effects are not just a
coincidence. Mankind is causing the decline of our earth at a rapid pace from pollution, to cutting
downs trees, and countless other activities. This form of climate change is destroying ecosystems,
killing wildlife, and damaging our planet. Mankind must take a stand to become more eco friendly and

3). The greenhouse effect can not be stopped entirely, since it is a natural occurrence; however, there
are solutions mankind can take to reduce its effects on our planet. Some may argue that humans are
not the main cause of global warming, but science proves otherwise. Although humans do cause a
cooling process on the earth, it is significantly smaller, and it is not enough to balance out the warming
effect. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, as cited in the NOAA states, Earth s average
surface temperature has risen by about 1.5 degrees fahrenheit since 1880 [due to human activities]
(2007, p. 3). This number may seem small in perspective, but in reality, the earth should maintain the
same temperature and that is not what is happening; consequently, earth s temperature has been
rapidly changing more than it ever has before. The main reason this number is so large is because of
the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution was a period of time where machines and
manufacturing flourished. Although it was good for the economy, it was deadly for the earth. This
spike in machinery was ultimately the leading start of a chain of events that lead to why global
warming is at the highest it has ever been. Such a dramatic rise in temperature in over these short
years is an obvious sign that the earth is warming.

Strategic Issues the Association Should Address Essay
TO: APSA Council
RE: Council Discussion Topic: Organized Sections
This overview is designed to help launch a Council small group discussion about journals, and about
strategic issues the Association may wish to address. The memo notes salient issues the Association is
or will soon face. The themes included here are surely not complete and the goal is for a discussion
that helps ferret out or sharpen heretofore unarticulated issues as well as the ones we see now.
I. Introduction
APSA Organized Sections have been a mainstay of the Association since first formed in the early
1980 s. There has not been a comprehensive review of Sections and the ways in which the prominence
of Sections has shaped the Association since then, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This increases the total cost of APSA membership commensurately, especially consequential if a
member seeks to join multiple sections. We worry this may discourage multiple section membership,
diminish opportunity for cross fertilization among fields; and create sticker shock for APSA
membership in general.
At the same time, there may be potential value for the Association of being aligned with a bundle of
journal content organized across topical areas a kind of journal based analogue to the annual meeting
division structure.
As a specific matter, APSA has the opportunity help the State Politics and Policy Organized Section
purchase its journal from the university press that now owns it, by lending the Section money with
payback revenues over 10 years. Assuming the business deal made sense, would such a step make
sense from the standpoint of an Association wide journals policy.
APSA might seek to bring Section journals more under the Association umbrella itself and applying
journal guidelines, unbundling subscriptions from Section membership (while leaving editorial control
with the Sections.)
C. Governance and Liabilities
APSA s Organized Sections operate under the Association s Tax ID number, and legally are elements
of APSA as a corporation. A few APSA sections engage in outside activities such as separate
conferences. Generally, these are handled entirely by section members

was able to communicate effectively with students as they created lesson plans they were personally
passionate about, and topics students could relate to. Students were consistently engaged and teachers
were able to create lesson plans that they were passionate about and that the students would latch onto.

School systems that create classes that actively discuss racial and ethnic identity and history serve as
an empowering dynamic. The documentary Precious Knowledge presented a battle over Ethnic
Studies classes that were offered at Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) in Arizona during 2009.
Divisive issues were not the product of these discussions, but a reluctance of white Americans who
held the social, political, and economic privilege. The Ethnic Studies classes that were offered at
TUSD empowered the Mexican American students in the community by allowing them to learn more
about their history, who they were, and how they fit into the social structure in the U.S. society. The
classes taught the students about the systematic structures within the United States, providing students
with a holistic understanding of the racial and ethnic issues relating to their personal social political
position, as well as others in the sociopolitical system. Courses similar to these are critical for students
from underrepresented backgrounds and whites to engage in at the high school level because they

Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine Has Come A Long Way Over The
Therapeutic nuclear medicine has come a long way over the last decade. More than 20 million
Americans now benefit each year from nuclear medicine procedures used to diagnose and treat a wide
variety of diseases (SNMMI and Safe/Beneficial Medical Uses of Radiation, 2017).
This type of therapy is often used as a means to treat hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, bone metastases
from prostate and breast tumors, as well as other types of cancer and diseases. It can be used alone or
in combination with other therapeutic means of medicine, such as surgery or chemotherapy. Radiation
therapy is used in the treatment of approximately 40% to 60% of patients who are diagnosed with

This treatment may be very aggressive but, when it comes to cancer, being thorough is of utmost
importance.
Therapeutic nuclear medicine is used in many different ways to help and treat patients when they are
fighting cancer or other diseases. Doctors will take the steps to do whatever they can to make sure that
the patient will survive or at least achieve improvement in their health to some degree. When a patient
is undergoing surgery to remove the cancer cells, the doctors will often have them go through
radiation beforehand to shrink the cancer or tumor down to a size that is easier to remove and to
ensure they are not removing more than necessary. Often during surgery, the surgeons will again treat
the patient with radiation while they are open so that the radiation is hitting the direct tumor or cancer
cells being targeted. Another benefit is that it provides the radiation treatment without having to direct
it through the skin again. This reduces the amount of radiation that the patient is getting to a certain
degree. Once the surgery is over, the patient will often have to continue with more treatments to make
sure that, if anything was missed, it will be attacked by the radiation and be prevented from spreading.
Eliminating the cancerous cells can often take more than one type of medical therapy, and it can often
take multiple treatments (Radiation

The Letter Of The Hebrews
The Letter to the Hebrews was clearly written in regards to a specific group of Christians who were
under some type of dilemma in regards to their religion (Rayburn 1490). Most everything else about
this letter though is unclear. The true author of the letter, audience, and location of this audience all
remain uncertain to this day. The letter has been attributed to the apostle Paul, however early scholars
still cannot be sure if he was the true author. They actually believe that it is more likely that he is not
the author. Even though Paul has been credited with writing this letter, there are many reason why
scholars think that this appears to be more and more unlikely. For one, all of Paul s other letters
indicate that he wrote them. It is not a characteristic of him to keep his letters anonymous. Another
indication that scholars have examined is that the overall style of writing and content in this letter is
much different than in any of the others. In addition, Hebrews 2:3 seems extremely unlikely to be able
to connect up with Galatians 1:12 in the sense of where the messages were first received (Rayburn
1490). Hebrews 13:23 reference to Timothy gives us insight that he was a friend of both the writer and
the readers, which can limit the author to someone who was a member of Paul s circle. A biblical
scholar by the name of Origen once stated, Who it was that really wrote the Epistle [Hebrews], God
only knows (Dockery 749). Because of this, the author of Hebrews and

The Bungalow Craze in the US
The Bungalow Craze The bungalow style was a major influence in the drastic change of American
society and how people lived. It influenced a major shift in gender role of women in society, creating
easier housekeeping techniques and greater employment and career opportunities for women by
confronting economic and social issues in society using domestic architecture. The simpler home
design expressed many tensions of Progressivism in attempting to solve social issues of the time. The
transformation brought about new ideas as well as fears that had to be confronted. The spread of
factories from the industrial age left anxiety concerning the loss of independence and masculinity. The
middle class population was becoming salaried workers, loosing economic and moral independence.
The Progressive Era had created a deep desire to reshape institutions and values as well as faith to
reform the people. At the same time, the Arts and Crafts Movement grew in response to the spread of
factories. It drew inspiration from John Rustic, an Oxford artist, who believed that machines were
robbing people of the creativity and pleasure of work situations. The bungalow design was influenced
by a variety of social and economic trends that expanded the middle class and became a powerful
means of transformation in American society. Arts and Crafts promoters associated the bungalow
design with creative manual work, independence, and a way to return to manhood of common work
practices. The bungalow

Hamlet And Oedipus Comparison
ll of the tragic heroes have unfortunate things in common. They all have certain qualities that make
them a tragic hero. Hamartia is a required trait for the person to be considered a tragic hero. Also,
hubris is needed to complete the tragic hero. The thing is there are multiple definitions of a tragedy.
People believe that regular people are more capable of partaking in a tragedy. Hamlet and Oedipus are
examples of the traditional tragedy. Hamlet s actions were all voluntary. He knew what he was doing
and the consequences. Oedipus suffered from fate of his family. He didn t realize exactly what he was
doing or the consequences. Oedipus is the truest tragic hero according to the traditional definition of a
tragedy, the downfall of his royalty and uncontrollable fate is a perfect example.
There are two definitions for a tragedy. One of them is the traditional version. Aristotle is the creator
of the elements of tragedy. He came up with a basis to analyze tragedies. There are six different parts
to a tragedy. They are plot, character, diction, thought, spectacle and song. Plot is the order of events
in the story. Plot is a huge deal when dealing with tragedies. Character is the people who act in the
play or story. Tragic heroes are a main part of the story. Everything is based around the tragic hero and
his downfall. The hero always has a flaw that characterizes his unfortunate events. Fall of hubris is a
major key in the tragic hero s traits. This means he or she has excessive pride. This restricts them from
getting help from people occasionally. Also, the main character is affected with hamartia. They are
completely ignorant towards certain important facts throughout their downfall. Which causes terrible
things to happen right in front of them without them noticing. Thought is referring to what the tragic
hero is thinking throughout the plot. They express this through lengthy conversations and soliloquies.
Their soliloquies are very popular and usually carry a heavy amount of information about the
character that the audience needs to know. Diction is the vocabulary the characters use. It is important
to know the kind of connotation the words relate to. The characters express their feelings through

Then the movie focused on the question what did really happen to the dinosaurs? Sixty five million
years ago, a six mile wide asteroid hurtling through space at 15 kilometers per second slammed into
what is now Mexico s Yucatan Peninsula at a site known as Chicxulub. The impact had left a crater
110 to 170 miles in diameter buried nearly a kilometer underground and sparked massive volumes of
ash into Earth s atmosphere. This impact is believed to end the existence of the dinosaur and paved the
way for the rise of mammals and other species which is now in existence. Scientists have identified
139 impact craters scattered over the surface of the Earth as a result of the main impact. The collision

Annual Catholic Appeal Essay Sample
The Money Team ACA
The Annual Catholic Appeal has done a lot for the community like helping out with the youth. They
do different things like gives schools money to keep the school up and going. They also encourage
leadership for the youth so they will be leaders and so they won t be followers. They are helpful to the
community in many ways. The Annual Catholic Appeal makes a big difference in the community by
encouraging leadership, supporting young people, and providing money for catholic school students.
It is important for me and the Archdiocese of st. Louis to come together for the annual
Catholic appeal because together we can really make st. Louis a better place for everyone.
st. Louis a better place by spreading and putting God in everyone s life. Some of the ways that the
Archdiocese do that is by building Catholic schools which we attend. Catholic schools are really
helping around st. Louis it s putting faith and God in everyone s life to make him a better person. It s
very important for them to have that because they could be doing other things that will harm the
community and I think it s a good thing that the Archdiocese is doing what they re doing to strengthen

Analysis Of Into The Wild By Jon Krakauer
In Jon Krakauer s engrossing novel Into the Wild, the arrogant author has ulterior motives for writing
about the tragedy of Chris McCandless by including himself in the story for his own personal benefit.
He does this rather than reporting on the death in hopes of informing the world on the reasons behind
such a shocking incident. With wants to make others feel he is accomplished, the egotistical narrator
wanders off topic describing his personal climb up the Devils Thumb. Instead of allowing the reader
to decide their individual thoughts on McCandless and adventurers, Jon Krakauer acts bias by stating
what he believes led Chris into the wild. He makes the decision to write the book with the thought of
only money on his mind.
Although not specifically stated, evidence proves that the selfish Krakauer is consumed by the fact
that producing the book will earn him money. For example, the Outside article he previously wrote
about Chris is assigned to him not chosen because of his own interest in the story. Krakauer releases
this information when he says, Shortly after the discovery of the corpse, I was asked by the editor of
Outside magazine to report on the puzzling circumstances of the boy s death. His name turned out to
be Christopher Johnson McCandless (Krakauer Author s Note). Clearly, before being given the
responsibility to write the article, Krakauer has no idea who about McCandless story leaving money as
the only plausible motive for the article and eventually the

The Production Of Flashlights By 50 % ( $ 2 ) Essay
Introduction
The supplier of the company has increased the price of an important component (LED Bulb) in
the production of flashlights by 50% ($2). The company has already tried to look for solutions
such as changing the supplier or finding a replacement of the part but it has been unsuccessful
because it has an agreement with the supplier and would need the specific part to produce the
product. The challenge faced now by the company is to absorb the costs bared and find a solution
to earn profits from the available amount of products.
Effects of Cost Increase
The cost has increased by a significant amount and this would decrease the company s raw material
purchases, sales volume, production and profit:
 The raw material purchases would be affected as with the same amount of money used in
purchasing the materials, less number of raw materials could be purchased, for example: if we
the material cost per unit is $4 and we purchase raw materials of $1,000,000, we can produce
250,000 units (1,000,000/4). Whereas if the material cost increases to $6, we would only be able
to produce 166,666 units (1,000,000/6) with the same amount of investment in raw materials.
 The production capacity would be affected as there would be less amount of raw materials
available with the same amount of investment as the current quarter.
 The sales volume would decrease because the production would be less as it is directly affected
by the raw materials purchased.
 The

The Pros And Cons Of The Predator C
The Predator C, Avenger developed and built by General Atomics Aeronautical, is an upgraded
version of its predecessors the MQ 1 and MQ 9 and is meant to support military operations well into
the next decade. Powered by a Pratt Whitney PW545B turbofan engine the Avenger is capable of
speeds up to 400 knots true air speed (KTAS), and operational altitudes of up to 50,000 feet, well
outpacing its predecessors (CITE). The Avenger has also been further optimized to reduce its Radar
Cross Section (RCS), making it less detectable by enemy air defenses. Beyond its ability to out fly the
original Predator UAS, the Avenger is able to be equipped with a more capable and configurable
sensors and weapons package. These advancements make the Predator C Avenger the most capable

This, in fact, could prove to be very limiting for its use in military operations outside of the U.S. Navy.
At one point during the development of the MQ 8 series, the U.S. Army briefly tested a four bladed
version of the MQ 8A, but quickly halted testing concluding that the smaller and cheaper Raven could
provide the same capabilities (CITE). Although the MQ 8C has improved lifting capacity, the Army
has not shown renewed interest in the new platform. The Avenger on the other hand has a massively
configurable weapons delivery system. Capable of carrying weapons as large as 2,000 pounds, such as
hellfire missiles, and a variety of smaller weapons, the Avenger stores its weapons payload inside a
bay in its fuselage. This highly configurable bay allows up to seven different kinds of weapons to be
easily reconfigured in order to support a wide variety of hunter killer type missions (CITE). In
addition, the weapons package can be completely swapped out for a sensors package, furthering its

When I Love To Read Literature
Sometimes all it takes to turn the person who hates to read, into the person who loves to read. I know
that this has been the case for me at least. When I was a child I hated to read more than anything, but
over time I learned to appreciate it more and more. I believe that there are three authors, who were
able to influence a young child who hated to read, and created a young adult who doesn t mind
reading and on occasion does it for fun. Those three authors are Gary Paulsen, John Flanagan, and
Stephen Hunter. The first author to have an effect on my reading habits has to be Gary Paulsen. Gary
Paulsen was the other of many books, but the ones I remember the best are his Hatchet series, and his
book the rifle. The books main character Brian Robeson, who is flying in a small airplane to join his
father for a few months, but once in the air the pilot of Brian s plane unexpectedly suffers a heart

U.s. Marine Corps And The Military
After watching this film for several times, a viewpoint comes into my mind that almost all of people
are not inborn soldiers, but it s quite clear that most of them could be soldiers through a series of
training in the army. Unlike a majority of jobs in our daily lives, soldiering could be more complicated
and it needs people to take a high level of risk in the war and even some people sacrifice their lives in
order to defend their countries rights and protect citizens safety. Therefore, many people may have
formed a false concept that only specific groups of people are suitable for selecting as soldiers. In fact,
anyone s son will do it and they can do it very well. In the end of this film, most soldiers family
members express that they are proud of their sons or daughters. That s because their sons or daughters
assume responsibility and make great contributions to the society.
The storyline of this film is about the basic training in the military. This film s scenario is about the
U.S. Marine Corps. In this film, it shows us the details of recruiting soldiers and some procedures
about how to train these young people into soldiers and killers. In the beginning of this film presents a
picture of the Soviet Union soldiers and also tells us that these people would be the U.S. soldiers, if
their grandparents had immigrated to the United States. At the same time, their parents would very

Violence in Entertainment and Its Effect on Society Essay
Does entertainment influence society s attitude towards violent behavior? In order to fully answer this
question we must first understand what violence is. Violence is the use of one s powers to inflict
mental or physical injury upon another, examples of this would be rape or murder. Violence in
entertainment reaches the public by way of television, movies, plays, and novels. Through the course
of this essay it will be proven that violence in entertainment is a major factor in the escalation of
violence in society, once this is proven we will take all of the evidence that has been shown
throughout this paper and come to a conclusion as to whether or not violence in entertainment is
justified and whether or not it should be censored. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As recently as November of 1995, New York City officials believed that the burning of a toll booth
clerk was a result of copycat violence, resulting from a similar scene in the movie Money Train. In
1994, Nathan Martinez shot and killed his stepmother and half sister after watching the movie Natural
Born Killers at least six times. Later, Martinez, who had shaved his head and wore granny sun glasses
like Natural Born Killer s main character Mickey Knox, reportedly told a friend, It s nothing like the

lying in the center of a highway in an attempt to show their courage and dedication to their sport. This
movie was later blamed for inspiring real life imitators; (one of whom died). In numorous experiments
based at pre schools, researchers have observed children playing before and after seeing violent

aggressive. They are much more likely to hit, punch, kick, and grab to get their way. In other words,
violent entertainment teaches children how to use aggression for personal gain (Medved 75). It is also
hard to believe that movies like Rambo III with one hundred and six killings and Terminator 2 which

Clashes of Eastern v Western views of strategy were experienced. These views are all but opposite in
many areas. These differences included the likes of the way they made decisions, executed plans and
analysed their results. The best example as evidenced by the case study would be that fact that the
marketing manager, when asked by the consultant, failed to produce a formal marketing plan. The
consultant took this a sign of incompetence instead of seeking to better understand the reasoning
behind the difference.
Finally, from the presentation of the case study it is recommended that when entering a foreign
country one should make sure that whoever is sent to act as an expatriate in the host country has a
high level of cross cultural literacy. The person who is given the task should be adequately trained and
qualified who has ideally been to the host country destination beforehand. In this case this was
arguably not the case and the consultant who was the expatriate consequently had trouble both
understanding the culture and dealing effectively with the managing partners reactions and actions.

this deceitful happiness, outrage breaks out from the government. It is unacceptable to stray from the
norms. It is a topic also portrayed in today s society. 1984, Brave New World, and contemporary

Moral Education and Emotional Lying Essay
Moral Education and Emotional Lying
There is a long tradition, fathered by Aristotle and recurring like some recessive gene in recent virtue
theorists, that holds that the emotions, like acts, must be trained . Consider the following:
[In Beckett s portrayal,] Emotions are not feelings that well up in some natural and untutored way
from our natural selves, that they are, in fact, not personal or natural at all, that they are, instead,
contrivances, social constructs. We learn how to feel, and we learn our emotional repertoire. We learn
emotions in the same way that we learn our beliefs from our society. (Nussbaum 1990, p287)
Emotions, in Aristotle s view, are not always correct, any more than beliefs or actions are ... Show

The problem arises, however, when we consider two agents: Agent X acts in accordance with social
demands, or, does not act (also in accordance with social demands) while considering this merely a
means to ensure such social harmony as he can get. Agent Y exhibits or does not exhibit emotions also
in accordance with social demands, while considering this also merely a means to ensure social
harmony. Neither Agent X nor Agent Y believe in what they are doing, in any sense deeper than the
wish to conform to reasonable social demands.
We can portray this situation as follows:
Agent CA conforms with respect to acting.
Agent CE conforms with respect to emoting .
Agent BA believes in his acts.
Agent BE believes in his emotions
Are Agents CA and CE not on equal footing with agents BA and BE as regards ethics, for better or
worse?
Apparently not. There is widespread dislike of Agent CE as a hypocrite, an accusation rarely hurled
against Agents CA, BA, or BE. Even Williams (1973, p224) states that simulating emotions one does
not feel could be misleading, even deceitful .
Agent CE is in a bind: if he responds as society dictates, he is a hypocrite; and if he does not, he is a
misfit or (in extreme situations) a psychopath . Agent CE has been trained in the sense that he knows
what is expected of him, and does it; and his motives are those of prudence. However,

Comparing Mariana And The Lady Of Shalott
The poetry written during the Industrial Revolution reflects the mentality of 19th century British
citizens with anxious, questioning tones, and the desire for returning to simpler times with romantic
ideals. Both Mariana and The Lady of Shalott evoke questions about the place for women during the
Industrial Revolution because Lord Alfred Tennyson characterizes both female characters as
vulnerable in the absence of a man. The portrayal of the characters Mariana and The Lady of Shalott

A Short Note On Fernandopulle s Work Of Uninsured
Sered and Fernandopulle s work of Uninsured in America brings awareness to the tainted health care
system implemented by the United States. This book was completed in 2004 during the election year,
at the time George W. Bush became president, and speaks for over 40 million Americans that lack
basic health insurance. More than one hundred interviews were conducted with uninsured women,
men, and their families as well as with a number of wellness centers, health care providers, and policy
makers. Interviewee s situations were highlighted as they describe their personal gravitational pull into
death spirals as their diseases and conditions were left untreated, and their debt accumulated due to a
deprivation of health insurance. The authors directly denunciate the development of the caste of the ill,
infirm, and marginally employed to employment and health insurance. The authors state that, the
current American system in which health care is linked to employment is creating a caste of the
chronically ill, infirm, and marginally employed. (Sered and Fernandopulle, 2005, p. 15) They refer to
the working poor as part of this caste because of the long lasting immobility from the death spiral as
well as recognizable physical features usually due to occupational conditions. People of this caste take
on jobs that are part time. Part time work is both low paying and does not offer health insurance.

Dilemma Of Informed Consent
Currently, there are nearly as many human biological samples stored in the United States as there are
people in the United States, and many of the sources of the samples remain unknown because
informed consent was not previously required. The main dilemma between informed consent and
scientists lies within the ethics and practicality of research on tissue removed from a patient s body for
surgical purposes. Meanwhile, the tissues are studied in labs across the country. In recent years, the
HeLa cell line and the cells backstory have precipitated outrage towards how the tissue was obtained,
managed, and the inadequacy of informed consent from Henrietta Lacks and her family. Since then,
other cases have become public regarding the lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The medical definition of informed consent is The process by which a patient learns about and
understands the purpose, benefits, and potential risks of a medical or surgical intervention, including
clinical trials, and agrees to receive the treatment or participate in the trial. Informed consent generally
requires the patient or responsible party to sign a statement confirming that they understand the risks
and benefits of the procedure or treatment (Medical Definition of Informed consent). The definition
goes over medical and surgical procedures when the tissue is still part of the patient; however, tissue
removed from the patient during an operation, is not mentioned. Consequently, a gray area emerges
and scientists scramble to decipher between what is ethical and what is practical. The ethical side
corresponds to the patient s right to their body, including his or her tissue. Although, again, there are
not any laws protecting a human s right to their tissues removed from the body. The practical side
relates to the cost of future research and patient confidentially in terms of linking unidentified tissue
samples to the original patient. The practicality of voiding using consent forms, in terms of tissue,
eliminates the confusion within the scientific community, reduces additional cost burdens and
decreases potential privacy breaches to the original patient. Scientists, including David Korn,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Kabuki
Kabuki, a type of Japanese performance, was an art form that became incredibly popular during the
Edo Period. Ignoring the audiences profound love for Kabuki, the Japanese government installed
countless regulations with the sole purpose of constraining the art. Despite the Japanese government s
clear distaste for Kabuki, Kabuki still managed to thrive and shape traditional Japanese society during
the Edo Period. Kabuki was an elaborately detailed, carefully executed art that thrilled its audiences.

The government restricted Kabuki s art in countless different ways and even interfered in their

every city: the Floating World. The Floating World was the most undesirable part of Japanese cities
and had the rowdiest customers. Jonathan Leonard, in his book Early Japan, says that: The townsfolk
demanded lusty pleasures. These they found in what was called the Floating World of restaurants and
theaters, prostitutes and bath girls, wrestlers, singers, and dancers (Leonard 1968, 168). The Floating
World was a sort of underground red light district run and occupied by the lower classes. This resulted
in the audiences of Kabuki performances turning out to belong to those lower classes. (analyze that?
What does it mean?))) This unfortunate location of Kabuki invoked a strong dislike towards it from

that the Satguru has come to the terrestrial plane and has brought with Him, the secret knowledge of
spiritual freedom and adds that through embrace of the Nūr of the Satguru, one attains immortality.
The first two lines of this verse, which are almost similar to the opening two lines of the eleventh

holder of the key to, salvation. This fact resonates with the stipulation in the preamble of the Ismaili
Constitution that Imam s Ta lim lights the murids path to spiritual enlightenment and vision.
Essentially, these two lines encapsulate the theme of the redemptive attribute and role of the Satguru,
discussed in verses eleven, eighteen, nineteen, twenty three and twenty six of this granth. Apart from
serving as a reminder to the believers to seek emancipation through the Satguru, the Ginans, through
their persistent emphasis on the redemptive function of the Satguru, seek to highlight the fact that,
leading the faithful to spiritual liberation is one of the most significant roles of the Satguru and may as
well be His raison d être. Thus, one of the recurring themes of the Ginans is mukti or salvation, just as
the most frequent entreaty found in Ginans is for deliverance, while one of the commonest
appellations of the Satguru in the Ginans is tāraṇhār, which

Music Piracy And Civil Law
Music piracy is an infringement that involve the copying or selling of creative works that which the
copyright owner, composer, or artist did not consent to. Before the invention of newer technology that
allowed for the piracy process to become less difficult, music piracy was much easier to control. With
this new and improved technology of the 21st century, users of the web began adding media files to
the internet, which made all previous difficulties substantially less challenging. It was much easier for
people with little to no knowledge of technology and old piracy methods to gather media files. Piracy
may seem petty, but the effects are major. Not only is it illegal, when music is copied and or shared the
value decreases with each download. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many citizens are unaware that downloading music although free is illegal and others may think of
piracy as a victimless. Individual artists, ranging from celebrity musical acts like Metallica to the stay
at home mothers who sell digital scrapbooking kits in their free time, frequently speak out against
piracy when talking to their fans. Grassroots organizations also work to educate the public about
music property rights through online marketing campaigns. Technology has given the Music
companies a fighting chance in preventing music piracy. Software programs can be created to require
authorization codes or online registration forms that make piracy more difficult because they are only
given with legal copies. For downloadable content, digital rights management systems limit the
number of devices that can play a particular movie or song in order to stop people from sharing
unauthorized copies. Unfortunately, there are still resourceful hackers and people in the piracy
industry that still continue to find ways to get around these measures. Lawsuits may seem like an
obvious way to stop piracy, but legal action is typically a last resort with the widespread use of the
Internet, it is way too time consuming and expensive to track down every web site and person that is
involved in the production and sharing of illegal music files. Piracy laws also vary from country to
country, making enforcement rather

The Protest Of The Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin...
When you think of protests what do you think of? Most of the protests that people see on television
are a group of people marching in the streets. These protests can either be peaceful or harmful. San
Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a different approach. His protest was not in the
streets, it was on the football field. He kneels during the national anthem before games. Everyone has
their own thoughts on his protest, some agree, some do not agree with his protest. Colin Kaepernick s
form of protest is a very ineffective way of protest while disrespecting the people that represent and
angering many. On August 14th, 2016 was the first time San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin
Kaepernick decided to sit down for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, not standing for the national anthem is a legal form of peaceful protest, which is a First
Amendment right. And even though President Obama disagreed with Kaepernick s actions he did say
that Colin was exercising his constitutional right to make a statement. I think there s a long history of
sports figures doing so (ProCon.org) Refusing to stand for the national anthem is disrespecting the
flag and every member of the armed forces. Celebrities and others have all chimed in and gave their
opinion on Colin s protest. One person to chime in and has a lot patriotism in her family history is
Carole Ishlam, she is one of the great great great granddaughters of Francis Scott Key, the writer of
the national anthem. It just blows my mind that somebody like Kaepernick would do what he does to
dishonor the flag of this country and the national anthem Ishlam said in an interview. She continued,
we have young men and women overseas fighting for this country, people that have died for this
country (ProCon.org) Even supporters of Kaepernick s message disagree with his actions. One of
these supporters is New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who said, It s an oxymoron that you
re sitting down, disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out (ProCon.org) Not
only did celebrities talk about it, people who are fighting in the war and are representing the flag have
put out their own opinions on Kaepernick s

Raymond s Run Identity Quotes
Many people have trouble finding out their identity and sometimes choose the path of stereotypes, tell
them what to do. The song Whatever it Takes makes you think about how you must try to achieve
your goal and not get put down by other people. Also how everyone has a job while they have to work
hard to active goals they know there are other things that come in the way and change how you think
about other people . The song Whatever it takes is about how a person is willing to do anything to get
what he/she wants. They both have a ton of commonalities in themes like stereotypical , identity ,
perseverance, and responsibility. This can also be seen in the story Raymond s Run by Toni Cade
Bambara. The main character in this story is Squeaky. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Brand Equity UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS Kevin Lane Keller Tuck School of Business Dartmouth College UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS One of the most popular and potentially important marketing topics to arise in the 1980 s was the concept of brand equity. The emergence of brand equity, however, has meant both good news and bad news. The good news is that it has raised the importance of the brand in marketing strategy which heretofore had been relatively neglected and provided impetus for managerial interest and academic research activity. The bad news is that the concept has been defined a number of different ways for a number of different purposes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3 Role of brands to consumers. To consumers, brands provide important functions. Brands identify the source or maker of a product and allow consumers to assign responsibility as to which particular manufacturer, distributor, or provider should be held accountable. More importantly, brands can take on special meaning to consumers. Because of past experiences with the product and its marketing program over the years, consumers learn about brands. They find out which brands satisfy their needs and which ones do not. As a result, brands provide a shorthand device or means of simplification for their product decisions. If consumers recognize a brand and have some knowledge about it, then they do not have to engage in a lot of additional thought or processing of information to make a product decision. Thus, from an economic perspective, brands allow consumers to lower search costs for products both internally (in terms of how much they have to think) and externally (in terms of how much they have to look around). Fertility Rate And Age Specific Fertility Rates This paper will explore the population phenomena pertaining to Singapore acquiring and sustaining low fertility, which has ultimately resulted in an ageing population. There is a multitude of interconnected factors that have contributed to Singapore s low fertility, and more importantly how this has reduced younger populations being added every year. However, this paper will focus on the premise that women s higher educational attainment has prompted a delay in marriage, and thus a delay in having babies. Therefore, this paper will evaluate statistics retrieved from the International Data Base from the Census Bureau Website that include the Total Fertility Rate and Age Specific Fertility Rate in Singapore over a span of twenty years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Age Specific Fertility Rate is contingent on the age of a woman and places her in groups of women based on their age and then predicts how many babies each woman is expected to have over a period of time based on a specific population (Poston Bouvier, 2010, p. 45). In Singapore, the Age Specific Fertility Rate peaked for women between the ages 30 34 in 1997, 2007, and 2017. However, while there was a reduction in fertility rates for all ages across a women s life span from 1997 to 2007, there was a slight increase in fertility rates in 2017 for the age groups 30 34, 34 39, 40 44, and 45 49 (Refer to Graph 1). While elderly women tend to have fewer babies on average than younger ones, which is true for Singapore, the slight increase in childbearing in later years indicates changes in the structure of individual lives and the society as a whole. This data ultimately suggests that women in Singapore are waiting longer to get married and have children, which are pertinent causes of the country s low fertility and ageing population. While there are many societal and economic factors contributing to delays in marriage and reproduction, this paper will focus primarily on the increase of Singaporean women obtaining higher education and subsequently joining the workforce. • 5. English Major Essay In recent years, the English major has faced an increasing amount of scrutiny. While the number of English majors throughout the United States is rapidly declining, majors with roots in science, technology, engineering, and math are praised as worthwhile and immediately beneficial. Beginning shortly after the Great Recession of 2008 2009, humanities based majors have been deemed expendable and trivial. President Barack Obama s 2011 State of the Union Address only served to propel this mindset as he renewed his commitment for his Educate to Innovate platform that specifically targets [science, technology, engineering, and math degrees] as a means of helping to rebuild America s economic edge (Luangphinith 64). • 7. Historiography Of The British Empire Any historiography of The British Raj must first start with the understanding that The British Raj fits within the broader historic concept of The British Empire. In the late 19th Century, many historians proposed that the history of The British Empire could be broken down into The First British Empire and The Second British Empire. The British Raj falls within the category of The Second British Empire within this view. The previous British involvement in India, via The East India Company, would largely fall within First British Empire. The opinions of historians, not any official decree by British law or authorities, are the basis for the concept of multiple periods of The British Empire. There was never an official start, or end date, for either period of empire. The British Empire was never an official entity, as in there was not a document or constitution dictating how it was administered. As a result, the colonial administrations varied depending on the colony to which they belonged. The views on The British Empire, during its height, were not a single monolithic view shared by all British citizens, but varied across the full spectrum from unwavering support to strong opposition. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, as cited in the NOAA states, Earth s average surface temperature has risen by about 1.5 degrees fahrenheit since 1880 [due to human activities] (2007, p. 3). This number may seem small in perspective, but in reality, the earth should maintain the same temperature and that is not what is happening; consequently, earth s temperature has been rapidly changing more than it ever has before. The main reason this number is so large is because of the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution was a period of time where machines and manufacturing flourished. When a patient is undergoing surgery to remove the cancer cells, the doctors will often have them go through radiation beforehand to shrink the cancer or tumor down to a size that is easier to remove and to ensure they are not removing more than necessary. Often during surgery, the surgeons will again treat the patient with radiation while they are open so that the radiation is hitting the direct tumor or cancer cells being targeted. The Letter Of The Hebrews The Letter to the Hebrews was clearly written in regards to a specific group of Christians who were under some type of dilemma in regards to their religion (Rayburn 1490). Most everything else about this letter though is unclear. The true author of the letter, audience, and location of this audience all remain uncertain to this day. The letter has been attributed to the apostle Paul, however early scholars still cannot be sure if he was the true author. They actually believe that it is more likely that he is not the author. Even though Paul has been credited with writing this letter, there are many reason why scholars think that this appears to be more and more unlikely. For one, all of Paul s other letters indicate that he wrote them. It is not a characteristic of him to keep his letters anonymous. Another indication that scholars have examined is that the overall style of writing and content in this letter is much different than in any of the others. In addition, Hebrews 2:3 seems extremely unlikely to be able to connect up with Galatians 1:12 in the sense of where the messages were first received (Rayburn 1490). The simpler home design expressed many tensions of Progressivism in attempting to solve social issues of the time. The transformation brought about new ideas as well as fears that had to be confronted. The spread of factories from the industrial age left anxiety concerning the loss of independence and masculinity. The middle class population was becoming salaried workers, loosing economic and moral independence. The Progressive Era had created a deep desire to reshape institutions and values as well as faith to reform the people. At the same time, the Arts and Crafts Movement grew in response to the spread of factories. It drew inspiration from John Rustic, an Oxford artist, who believed that machines were robbing people of the creativity and pleasure of work situations. Oedipus is the truest tragic hero according to the traditional definition of a tragedy, the downfall of his royalty and uncontrollable fate is a perfect example. There are two definitions for a tragedy. One of them is the traditional version. Aristotle is the creator of the elements of tragedy. He came up with a basis to analyze tragedies. There are six different parts to a tragedy. They are plot, character, diction, thought, spectacle and song. Plot is the order of events in the story. Plot is a huge deal when dealing with tragedies. Character is the people who act in the play or story. Tragic heroes are a main part of the story. Everything is based around the tragic hero and his downfall. The hero always has a flaw that characterizes his unfortunate events. Fall of hubris is a major key in the tragic hero s traits. This means he or she has excessive pride. This restricts them from getting help from people occasionally. Also, the main character is affected with hamartia. They do different things like gives schools money to keep the school up and going. They also encourage leadership for the youth so they will be leaders and so they won t be followers. They are helpful to the community in many ways. • 24. Analysis Of Into The Wild By Jon Krakauer In Jon Krakauer s engrossing novel Into the Wild, the arrogant author has ulterior motives for writing about the tragedy of Chris McCandless by including himself in the story for his own personal benefit. He does this rather than reporting on the death in hopes of informing the world on the reasons behind such a shocking incident. With wants to make others feel he is accomplished, the egotistical narrator wanders off topic describing his personal climb up the Devils Thumb. Instead of allowing the reader to decide their individual thoughts on McCandless and adventurers, Jon Krakauer acts bias by stating what he believes led Chris into the wild. He makes the decision to write the book with the thought of only money on his mind. Although not specifically stated, evidence proves that the selfish Krakauer is consumed by the fact that producing the book will earn him money. For example, the Outside article he previously wrote about Chris is assigned to him not chosen because of his own interest in the story. Krakauer releases this information when he says, Shortly after the discovery of the corpse, I was asked by the editor of Outside magazine to report on the puzzling circumstances of the boy s death. His name turned out to be Christopher Johnson McCandless (Krakauer Author s Note). Clearly, before being given the responsibility to write the article, Krakauer has no idea who about McCandless story leaving money as the only plausible motive for the article and eventually the ... • 25. The Production Of Flashlights By 50 % ( $ 2 ) Essay Introduction The supplier of the company has increased the price of an important component (LED Bulb) in the production of flashlights by 50% ($2). The company has already tried to look for solutions such as changing the supplier or finding a replacement of the part but it has been unsuccessful because it has an agreement with the supplier and would need the specific part to produce the product. The challenge faced now by the company is to absorb the costs bared and find a solution to earn profits from the available amount of products. Effects of Cost Increase The cost has increased by a significant amount and this would decrease the company s raw material purchases, sales volume, production and profit:  The raw material purchases would be affected as with the same amount of money used in purchasing the materials, less number of raw materials could be purchased, for example: if we the material cost per unit is $4 and we purchase raw materials of $1,000,000, we can produce 250,000 units (1,000,000/4). Whereas if the material cost increases to $6, we would only be able to produce 166,666 units (1,000,000/6) with the same amount of investment in raw materials.  The production capacity would be affected as there would be less amount of raw materials available with the same amount of investment as the current quarter.  The sales volume would decrease because the production would be less as it is directly affected by the raw materials purchased.  The

Therefore, many people may have formed a false concept that only specific groups of people are suitable for selecting as soldiers. In fact, anyone s son will do it and they can do it very well. Agent BE believes in his emotions Are Agents CA and CE not on equal footing with agents BA and BE as regards ethics, for better or worse? Apparently not. There is widespread dislike of Agent CE as a hypocrite, an accusation rarely hurled against Agents CA, BA, or BE. Even Williams (1973, p224) states that simulating emotions one does not feel could be misleading, even deceitful . Agent CE is in a bind: if he responds as society dictates, he is a hypocrite; and if he does not, he is a misfit or (in extreme situations) a psychopath . Agent CE has been trained in the sense that he knows what is expected of him, and does it; and his motives are those of prudence. However,

The definition goes over medical and surgical procedures when the tissue is still part of the patient; however, tissue removed from the patient during an operation, is not mentioned. Consequently, a gray area emerges and scientists scramble to decipher between what is ethical and what is practical. The ethical side corresponds to the patient s right to their body, including his or her tissue. Although, again, there are not any laws protecting a human s right to their tissues removed from the body. The practical side relates to the cost of future research and patient confidentially in terms of linking unidentified tissue samples to the original patient. The first two lines of this verse, which are almost similar to the opening two lines of the eleventh verse of this composition, reaffirm that the Satguru is indeed the custodian of the knowledge of, and holder of the key to, salvation. This fact resonates with the stipulation in the preamble of the Ismaili Constitution that Imam s Ta lim lights the murids path to spiritual enlightenment and vision. Essentially, these two lines encapsulate the theme of the redemptive attribute and role of the Satguru, discussed in verses eleven, eighteen, nineteen, twenty three and twenty six of this granth. Apart from serving as a reminder to the believers to seek emancipation through the Satguru, the Ginans, through their persistent emphasis on the redemptive function of the Satguru, seek to highlight the fact that, leading the faithful to spiritual liberation is one of the most significant roles of the Satguru and may as well be His raison d être.
