his very upbringing, Grendel was cursed, set apart from the rest of nature. This isolation became
evident throughout the novel as it seemed both humans and nature were against him. In the novel
Grendel by John Gardner, the theme of nature fighting what is unnatural is supported by the motifs of
animals, snakes, and trees. The prevalence of nature s clash with that which is unnatural is evident in
the reoccurring images of animals throughout the novel. Gardner emphasizes nature s resistance to
Grendel as [a bull] snorted through this nose and pawed more deeply, spattering grass and black earth

Chlorofluorocarbon and hydrochlorofluorocarbon refrigerants have been widely used in traditional
cooling systems. These refrigerants accelerate the depletion of the Earth s ozone layer. Therefore,
adsorption air conditioning technology attracted much attention recently as an alternative solution due
to its advantage of environmental friendliness. This system as it powered by waste and/or solar heat
can help to reduce required energy and thermal pollution. This paper presents an overview of research
which have been carried out on adsorption cooling systems powered by waste heat from automobiles.
Many adsorption pairs have been studied. Zeolite water as a working adsorption pair has been widely
used in automobile adsorption cooling systems. This pair has been powered by exhaust gases from the
engine due to its relatively high working temperature. Silica gel water pair has been also widely used
in automobile adsorption cooling systems. It has been powered by waste heat from water coolant in
the engine due to its relatively low working temperature. Results show that this technology can help in
increasing overall engine efficiency and reduce thermal pollution from engines. Various modifications
in adsorption cooling systems are still required. One of the bottlenecks which prevents the
improvement of adsorption cooling technology is its relatively low performance compared to
conventional vapor mechanical compression technologies.

in order to control them as they would with domesticated cattle. This philosophy transcended from
generation to generation to where it was instilled into their processes of thought and their way of life.
Whites have taunted Blacks attempting to belittle their character, squander their self confidence, and
brand them the infamous word nigger . While some carried oppression on their shoulders, a selected
few rose above the negativity and began to spread self love, self efficiency and the rise of black power.
Black became beautiful and the process of dehumanization was being reversed. W.E.B. Dubois,
Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X were a few of the candidates that advocated for the Pan African
movement.
William Edward Burghardt (W.E.B.) Dubois was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts in 1868. As
a child, he did not have much experience with racism. He completed high school at the young age of
16 and went on to attend Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee where Dubois experienced racism
and segregation for the first time. He then went to Berlin to earn a second B.A. and then became the
first African American to earn a doctorates degree from Harvard University in 1895. While at Harvard
University, he wrote a doctoral dissertation named The Suppression of the African

family obligations and lack of movement. Gregor s obligations to his family result in his inextricable
role as a provider for the Samsas. Because of the large debt accrued by his father, Gregor has been
working for the past five years, and must work an estimated six or seven more years in order to repay
it. During this decade of work, he must give up his own aspirations and individuality in order to

Muslim religious group. Malcolm was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the fourth

housewife, Earl Little was a preacher along with being an active member of the Universal Negro
