Raising Money For The Fund
Raising money for the Rally for the Jimmy Fund over the last few weeks has been an eye opening
experience into both the world of fundraising for charity as well as in professional sales. Getting out
into the real world and applying skills from classroom that were still fresh in your mind was a far
better learning experience than weekly homework assignments. The Jimmy Fund is a charity that does
a great job branding and making its presence known so convincing people to donate was less of telling
them about the product and more getting them to open up their wallets and actually make a donation.
As the weeks progressed and we began to learn more and more about selling it became much easier to
speak with people and get my point across about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third week I focused on Emails to people that I knew that worked in with an attached interest
gaining statement with my personal donation link for them to send along to anyone they believed
would be willing to donate. The fourth week was where I focused more on my family members and
family friends, sending texts, personal emails, and making calls to people that would take the time to
donate. Finally, the fifth week was meant for follow ups as well as reaching out to a close contacts that
would put me over my goal of $601. I believe that this approach would let me find out what worked
and what didn t while still giving me time to reach my goal.
I chose the people that I requested donations from very carefully, I believed that it was important,
when it came down to it to have people that I truly believed would make a donation and focused hard
on them rather than sending spam emails to everyone I can asking for donations. My immediate
family was an easy choice, my mother loves volunteering and my father has a sales career so they
were an easy target for getting a donation, especially since raising a lot of money gave me a better
grade. After that I focused on family that work in business and had a lot of connections who would
want to donate to the cause, I have two cousins working at the startup Gradifi, a brother who works for
a growing company, Domo, in Utah, my dad at Ironside, and a cousin at Dell/EMC in

Settling In The West Essay
Settling in the west After the Civil War, a dynamic period in American history opened the settlement
of the West. The lives of Western miners, farmers, and ranchers were often filled with great hardships,
but the wave of American settlers continued. railroads hastened this nation during this period, many
Native Americans lost their homeland and their way of life. Back in the day, the cowboys were often
people who herd and tend to the cattle. Cattle ranching or the practice of raising livestock such as
sheep or cattle for meat or wool, was driven by the population in the west and their desire to eat meat.
When Cortez defeated the empire of the Aztec and Mayan they were rich beyond their mind, but they
lacked cattle so they imported cattle to Tampico, Mexico where there was lots of open range for cattle.
Hence they created cattle ranching for meat. The cattle ranches not only provided meat, but also
leather and candles. Small cattle and small farms of the Anglo colonies could be controlled by foot but
the bigger cattle s required different technology. They created the method of lassoing and it took many

Historians believe that one of the reasons that helped cause pioneers to settle west were because they
wanted to find better jobs to support their families and they were told they would have a better life in
the west. With many people moving west sometimes it caused a problem of crowding, but people still
wanted to move west. The biggest factor that contributed to brining pioneers west was an opportunity
to buy land. Land in the West was cheaper than land in the East. People moved West in many ways,
such as the railroad or by foot. When people moved into Iowa they began to build and establish farms.
People who settled in the frontier faced many problems. Women in the frontier sometimes had to work
side by side next to the men in farms or they made clothes and sewed

Traditional Native American Culture
Long before the white man discovered America, people have already been living here. These people
are known as the Native Americans. As the settlers came to the native land, they brought firm beliefs
with them that ended up causing great conflicts with the native people. It was clear that the travelers
and the native people could not live among one another since the native people has their own set of
values and they were much different than the white man s beliefs. Traditional Lakota spirituality is a
form of religious belief that each thing, plant and animal has a spirit. The traditional Native American
community was a small group of related families. Each community included a headman, a man would
accomplish this position of leadership by demonstrating characteristics valued by the group, such as
generosity, wisdom, fortitude, and spiritual power gained through dreams and visions. The Natives felt
that the more isolated and rural the population was the more traditional it tended to be. Fraternal
societies were also significant within the community life. Memberships to this society was by
invitation only. The point of the society was to function as a tribal council. One important leader in the
society was a healer, respected for wisdom as well as curative powers. This healer ... Show more

At this festival, there is dancing, feasting, fasting and religious observations. Most ceremonies in the

The Fascination Of Social Network
The Fascination of Social Network Nowadays, people have their own cell phones, tablets personal
computers. According to an article Social Media: The New News Source written by Kristin Marino,
social networking sites are a top news source for 27.8% of Americans, ranking below newspapers
(28.8%) and above radio (18.8%) and print publications (6%) (Marino). Because of these kinds of
information technology products, not only teenagers start using social networking sites, but also our
previous generation, like our parents, even our grandparents. Social networking sites are helping us to
connect to other people and the world. It is a brilliant embodiment of communicating method,
especially notable for its superb spreading speed, the wide range of information and the convenience
of establishing friendships. Social networking is how people connect to each other now and in the
future. As we all know, Facebook is the most popular social networking site. To give some statistics,
there are 1,374,000,000 people using Facebook in the world (Statistic Brain RSS), but Facebook is not
the beginning of social networking. It started with Bulletin Board System. It is an online place for
users to communicate with a central system where they could download files and post messages to
other users (Liu). From late the 70 s to now, people show a great improvement on the Internet. In
developed countries, the majority of people use social networks to communicate by chatting, blogging

Tea Drinking In The 1800s
Tea was declared the National Drink of England in 1784. The eighteenth century saw the
transformation of tea as an everyday necessity for the poor and working class of the British society. To
meet the domestic demand at home, the British East India Company imported great volumes of tea
from China. The tea import increased from an estimated 64 tons in 1711 to 6800 tons in 1791. Even
heavy import tax could not deter an increasingly expanding domestic market for the Chinese tea. As
tea drinking had become obsession with the British society, consumption of tea replaced home brewed
beer, gin, milk and traditional infusions of indigenous plants. This great transformation in the
consumption pattern of British society led to the commodification of

WHAT IS GOODWILL?
The main method used by businesses to classify assets is to split them into tangible assets, which have
a separate existence from the business (examples of which would include buildings, land and
machinery), and intangibles which do not. Some clear examples of intangibles include goodwill,
patents, research and development expenditure and trademarks. Intangible assets are usually created
within the organisation over a period of time, by the company itself, rather than acquired from an
external source and are rarely sold off individually – they can normally only be sold in conjunction
with associated tangible assets.
Robins, in his essay FRS 10: Goodwill and Intangible Assets identifies three sources of goodwill ...

It was not allowable to carry goodwill at cost indefinitely.
By immediately writing off purchased goodwill the company makes the treatment of goodwill
equitable throughout the company. As inherent goodwill is not shown as a direct asset in the usual
balance sheet it seems contradictory and inconsistent to record purchased goodwill. In addition, as it is
not possible to realise goodwill independently of the company and it cannot be attributed a capital
worth in a liquidation it seems unrealistic to record goodwill as an asset in the balance sheet. This
would also suggest that amortisation of the intangible asset over any period should not be deferred and
attributed to any future income.
However, in practise the immediate write off to reserves is not altogether straightforward. As the
goodwill has already been allocated an economic value for the purposes of the company sale it is
difficult to argue that purchased goodwill is not an asset. The immediate writing off the amount to
reserves ignores the existence of purchased goodwill. As outlined by Robins, it is also inconsistent to
charge expenses incurred for building up inherent goodwill to the profit and loss account and to write
off purchased goodwill against the reserves By amortising the intangible fixed asset through the profit
and loss account either over its economic useful life or over a specific number of years, the goodwill

Tony Kushner s Angels Of Americ A Gay Fantasia On...
The Struggles Accompanying Homosexuality in Tony Kushner s Angels in America
Set in the late 1980s, a period of regression and tragedy for the homosexual community, Tony Kushner
s play, Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, explores the lives of four gay men
living in New York. Kushner s two part drama expounds some of the many difficulties encountered by
gays during this time period. While two of his characters, Joe Pitt and Roy Cohn, both struggle
significantly with their sexual orientation and identity, their troubles surface as a result of different
aspects of their lives. Joe Pitt, who, as it becomes clear, is a closeted homosexual, holds both political
and religious views that do not mesh well with his sexual orientation. Current Reaganite and lifelong
republican, Joe was raised on conservative, right wing values. As if that weren t enough, Joe is also a
Mormon and belongs to a religious community that forbids any sexual behavior between two people
of the same gender and deems such homosexual acts a sin punishable by a disciplinary council (
Homosexuality ). During his first homosexual encounter, Joe expresses his fears of punishment not
simply from his church community, but from God himself:
JOE: I... want... to touch you. Can I please just touch you... um, here? (He puts his hand on one side of
Louis s face. He holds it there.) I m going to Hell for doing this. (123)
As a result of his religious upbringing, Joe believes that acts of homosexuality

Swot Analysis Example
SWOT usage SWOT has been used by countless practitioners, marketing researchers, and is a frequent
and popular tool for business marketing and strategy students. Its simplicity and catchy acronym
perpetuates its usage in business and beyond as the tool is used to assess alternatives and complex
decision situations. In the business arena the grouping of internal and external issues is a frequent
starting point for strategic planning. It can be constructed quickly and can benefit from multiple
viewpoints as a brainstorming exercise. Typically, managers first consider internal strengths and
weaknesses (at the top row of the 2 × 2 grid) which can include image, structure, access to natural
resources, capacity and efficiency, and financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 142 studies were examined for trends, issues, uses of SWOT, and value added in long term
planning. Specifically, studies were sought that indicated sole use of SWOT analysis or if SWOT was
used in combination with other long range strategic planning tools. The authors next used affinity
diagrams to group and classify the collected studies using summaries on index cards. Affinity
diagrams are a popular text clustering technique used to categorize large number of seemingly
disparate comments ([41] Dobrzynski, 2007; [106] Levesque and Walker, 2007; [132] Plain, 2007;
[196] White et al. , 2002; [117] Mango, 2006). The affinity diagram methodology was chosen due to
its importance as an interpretative, qualitative approach to research, allowing for investigation and
emergence of multiple contextual variables or classification schemes. The objective of the
methodology is to utilize the qualitative data for explanatory purposes and to generalize findings in
support of theory based on a distillation of the various respondent comments. The clustering of issues
into logical categories helps draw inferences from the data collected. Thus the goal is to better
understand categories of service failures and identify the service failures that result in customer
defection. The researchers summarized, grouped, and clustered the comments by key themes and
focus areas. Through the iterative process, major classifications were identified

What Is Infrared Pading
When it comes to repairing asphalt pavement, timing is critical. The longer that a break in the
pavement is allowed to go without proper repair, the more likely it becomes that you will incur
extensive damage that will be costly to resolve. Once a pothole develops, it can allow a substantial
amount of water to reach the pavement s supporting foundation. The foundation becomes eroded,
additional potholes form and existing potholes turn into craters that can cause serious damage to
vehicles and painful injuries to pedestrians. What Causes Potholes? Although potholes can potentially
result from improper installation of the asphalt pavement, most of the time, they are weather related. If
cracks are not filled, water can leak underneath the pavement. Sand and gravel may collect in the
crack as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To understand why infrared paving is an ideal choice for repairing potholes, it might be helpful to
review how traditional repairs are typically made. In most cases, the contractor would remove the
damaged area by cutting it out with a saw before installing new asphalt. This method leaves a seam
where the new asphalt meets the existing pavement, and this seam is a weak point that could fail,
allowing water penetration to occur. Furthermore, if the weather is quite cold, the contractor might
have to resort to a temporary patch using a cold mix material, requiring a second repair once
conditions permit. Infrared paving eliminates cold seams and can be performed in cooler weather than
most hot mix repairs. In fact, infrared paving can often be performed in the middle of winter in the
Connecticut area. Infrared technology is used to heat and soften the area needing repair as well as a
small part of the surrounding pavement. Once the area has been softened enough, the asphalt is
worked and new asphalt is mixed in if it is needed. The repaired area is seamlessly fused to the
existing pavement for a strong, durable repair that is often virtually

How Did Greek Culture Influence The Minoan Culture
In order to explain the influence the Minoan and Mycenaean cultures had on the later Greeks it is
important to understand the beginnings of Greek culture. The first known civilization of Greek culture
were the Minoans, consequently, there is not a lot of information about this group (The Flow of
History, 2007). The language used by the Minoans is referred to as Linear A, the language is said to
have been the foundation for later Greek language. The Mycenaeans broadened the Linear A language
to make it their own, it is known as Linear B.
The Minoans were thought to be a peaceful society, conversely, the Mycenaeans were geared most
toward warfare. The peacefulness of the Minoan culture is depicted in their artwork, pottery, as well as
their architecture (The Flow of History, 2007). The ruins of the palaces from the Minoans do not
display any fortification to indicate they needed to protect themselves from enemies. The weapons
used in later Greek culture was similar to the weaponry crafted by the Mycenaeans, as well as the
Minoans. The noted difference is the metal, the Minoans and the Mycenaeans crafted their weapons
with bronze the later Greeks used iron (Matthews et. al., 2014). ... Show more content on

goddesses, as well as the heroes of both the Minoans and the Mycenaeans. The Minoan culture
worshipped Zeus in the form of a child who died as an adult, conversely, the Mycenaeans worship
Zeus as an immortal god who created and ruled both mortals as well as

Red Meat Consumption Report
This week s readings were eye opening. I have always known that red meat consumption was high in
the U.S. but I under estimated how high. When I moved here 10 years ago I was surprised on how
much meat people ate. I went to a friend s house for dinner and they had barbequed steaks. I got a
huge steak on my plate, and I thought it was for everyone to share but I was told that it was mine. This
stuck with me since and I always go back to that moment I too became a heavy meat eater. In Rwanda
where I am from a rib eye steak is for a family of 4, not for one person. I grew up consuming not more
that 4 6 ounces of meat daily. If the whole world adopted the American diet, it would be a disaster for
the environment. I do eat meat but I eat a lot

literature? Universal themes help convey Stephen Crane s Poem, War is KInd . These themes are
common among civil war litatureare. Crane uses Warfare, Life at home, and Patriotism. He uses these
three themes because they can cover what happened and how people felt during the wars. There is also
an ironic tone to the poem because it is difficult to understand war being kind in any way. War is Kind

Volkswagen Cause And Effects
CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF VOLKSWAGEN COURT SETTLEMENT
Although many individuals are unaware of the TDI diesel emissions court settlement between
Volkswagen and their customers; there are two causes and several effects. John German discovered
the Volkswagen emissions scandal. It turns out that, the lawsuit came about due to cheating software
that Volkswagen installed in their 2.0 and 3.0 liter diesel vehicles. In turn, a few effects of the cheating
software resulted in a 14.7 billion dollar lawsuit between Volkswagen and their buyers, disappointed
customers, and huge inconveniences (Bartlett,2017). Due to the software installed in TDI diesel
vehicles, there are up to 11 million vehicles affected.
In May of 2014, John German discovered, and went public about the Volkswagen emissions scandal
(Kretchmer, 2015). John German is a senior co lead for the International Council on Clean
Transportation. Mr. German has worked for the Washington based Environmental Protection Agency
for 13 years, which indicates that he knows what the requirements and enforcement are. German
partnered with West Virginia University and conducted the ICCT study. During the ICCT study,
German noticed detrimental nitrogen oxide emission levels; which leads him to think Volkswagen
diesel cars were malfunctioning. German felt vehicles were malfunctioning because they were passing
emissions testing, yet the vehicles had up to 35 times permitted levels of nitrogen oxide.

Unions Are A Most Effective Way Of Protecting Worker s Rights
2. Do you agree that unions are a most effective way of protecting worker s rights? Should U.S. labor
law be changed to be more in line with international labor codes?
Answer: Yes, I agree that solidarity campaigns in support of workers and/or unions are an effective
way of protecting worker s rights. Without the formation of unions such as the United Farm Workers
founded by Chavez and Huerta in 1962, vulnerable workers would have no defense against the
systemic exploitation and violations against their rights as workers and as human beings (Brubaker,
2007, p. 96). Exposed by the Human Rights Watch (HRW), is the fact that agricultural work in the

Also, after a request for better working conditions in Bangladesh were denied, ten workers leading the
protest were beaten by police, detained, and deported. Senator Byron Dorgan reported that under the
Jordanian Free Trade Agreement, we ended up with people of Bangladesh working 120 hours a week,
turning Chinese cloth into apparel designed for the U.S. market, which enters the U.S. duty free.
According to a 2006 Harris poll, 75% of Americans support the protection of international workers
rights, therefore, the creators of these laws need to recognize the need for reform in the laws affecting
workers of the world (Brubaker, 2007, p. 106).
3. Does the idea of community supported agriculture appeal to you? What would it take to make
something like this happen in your community?
Answer: Yes! I love the idea of community supported agriculture for several reasons. In the first place,
the goals identified, such as mutually beneficial relationships with a community of consumers,
environmentally sustainable farming practices, and public education on contemporary agricultural
issues makes sense to me. Also, the high quality, locally grown produce is more available and
affordable, and even reduces the negative environmental impacts caused by conventional production
and distribution systems. Those who cannot afford to buy adequate food are incorporated into the
planning of the distribution of the crops, and since diet can be a risk

The United States Should Be Indicted For Crimes Against...
Introduction In February 2014, a report was released by the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights
in the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The report detailed a number of human rights
abuses that the country has allegedly committed. Because of the report a United Nations committee
has called for the Security Council to refer North Korea to the International Court (ICC) for
committing crimes against humanity. Using the report that the Commission issued as a guideline, I
will examine whether or not it is plausible to state that the United States of America should be indicted
for crimes against humanity as compared to the DPRK. Representatives of North Korea have stated
that the United States needs to accept the accusations of the broad international community. It seems
that North Korea thinks that the United States has committed crimes against humanity. Whether or not
there is validity in that statement, it is worth investigating and comparing. Crimes against humanity as
defined by the ICC any of the following acts that are committed in widespread or systematic attack
directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack: murder; extermination;
enslavement; deportation or forcible transport; imprisonment; torture, rape/sexual slavery, enforced
prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of

Sundiata Character Analysis
What makes a man worthy to be honorable? Is his greatness something earned through struggle or just
a title that has been passed down? It is the man Sundiata is destined to have been, the greatest king, as
he is portrayed in D.T Niane s classic tale Sundiata: an epic of old Mali. This classic tale shows the
impact of courage, power, and motherly love on the life of the ancient africans kingdom s greatest
king. D.T Niane s shows the life of a man once being looked down upon, to now being known as one
of the greatest in history.
Courage or the act of being courageous is something that can depict if a person is being weak. This act
ties into the classic tale when identifying the strength it took Sundiata to walk. Sundiata was at an age
where other young boys were gathering objects for their mothers and he simply could not, due to the
fact that he was unable to walk. However, In a great effort he straightened up and was on his feet at
one go, but the great bar of iron was twisted and had taken the form of a bow. (Page 21) A boy who
once couldn t walk was now walking. He who once had to depend on his mother can now be the one

Teletech Corporation Essay
Background
Headquartered in Texas, Teletech Corporation operates under two main business segments: the
Telecommunications Services segment, providing various telephone services to business and
residential customers and the Products Systems segment, which manufactures computing and
telecommunications equipment. In late 2005, the Securities Exchange Commission revealed that
billionaire Victor Yossarian acquired a 10% stake in Teletech and demanded two seats on the board of
directors. He felt that the firm was misusing their resources and not earning a sufficient return. He
stated that Teletech should sell off its Product Systems segment and focus on creating value for the
company s shareholders. A detailed analysis will reveal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While both Mr. Phillips and Ms. Buono make strong arguments for their respective sides of the debate,
further analysis is needed to decide which methodology is the best fit for Teletech.
Comparable companies were needed in order to calculate the WACC for each business segment. The
comparable companies were chosen using the following measurements: similar product lines,
revenues, and bond ratings. Alltel Corporation, Sprint Corporation, and Bellsouth Corporation were
determined to be comparable companies for Teletech s Telecommunications Segment. Avaya Inc.,
Lucent Technologies, and Commscope Inc. were comparable comps for the Product and Systems
Segment. (see Exhibit 1). The three comps for each segment were than averaged to create an
appropriate WACC for each separate segment of Teletech.
The market risk premium of 5.5% and the risk free rate of 4.62% (30 year U.S. Treasury) were given
in the case. The beta and the pre tax cost of debt are based on our averaged comparative company
analysis. Using the averaged beta of 1.05, the pretax cost of debt of 5.79%, (based on bond ratings)
and the weighted average of debt equity, the telecommunications segmented hurdle rate is calculated
at 8.64% (see Exhibit 2).
Using the same market risk premium and risk free rate (5.5% 4.62% respectively) given in the case,

The Crime Of Hate Crimes
Hate crimes are very common in today s society, they can range from various ethnicities and
orientations as well as the severity of the crime committed. A hate crime is defined as the violence of
intolerance and bigotry, intended to hurt and intimidate someone because of their race, ethnicity,
national origin, religious, sexual orientation, or disability. The purveyors of hate use explosives, arson,
weapons, vandalism, physical violence, and verbal threats of violence to instill fear in their victims,
leaving them vulnerable to more attack and feeling alienated, helpless, suspicious and fearful . These
attacks are fueled by a hatred for the victim s personal lifestyle. As mentioned above, hate crimes are
not specific to one group of people, the crimes can be found in every aspect of society, some are just
more obvious than others. In a 2014 study it was found that 51 percent of hate crimes were motivated
by the victims ethnicity. Race was the second highest rate of motivation. According to this study, it has
been determined that majority of hate crimes can be classified as simple assaults . In relation to these
statistics it is estimated that only 4% of the assaults resulted in an arrest. It is also believed that more
than 60% of hate crimes are not reported. These are not reported because the victims think that
nothing will come out of reporting their attacks. Also, the actual victims reported only 22% of hate
crimes, while someone else reported 12%. These types crimes

Comparison Of Warren Prior And Richard Cory
Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson, and Warren Prior by Alden Nowlan are both poems
which discuss the unhappiness people tend to hide about themselves. In these poems, irony is used to
show how each persona is deeply unsatisfied with the circumstances they face although appearing
different to their peers. To begin with, Richard Cory is about a man named Richard Cory who is
notorious for being wealthy and seemingly has the type of lifestyle others would envy. However, what
was seen on the surface was deceiving, because at the end of the poem we learn that Cory commits
suicide. Likewise, Warren Prior is about a male who grew up on a farm where his parents worked
extremely hard in order to be able to afford an education for their ... Show more content on

In both poems, we see irony used as a device to bring emphasis to the theme of the poem. For
example, in Richard Cory the townsfolk absolutely adored Cory, and [they] wished [they] were in his
place. But, this was due to the fact that the townsfolk only viewed the exterior of Cory and saw that he
was clean favoured. As well, the townsfolk were well aware that Cory was richer than a king.
However, they were not aware of the true feelings Cory carried as they focused on materialistic
properties rather than personality traits. Thus, being a case of situational irony as most would expect
someone with great wealth to be content with their life. Moving on, in Warren Pryor irony is shown
within the son s relationship with his parents. The parents of the son grew up poor on a farm and
simply wanted a better life for their son, so they worked extremely hard to send him to school and free
him from the stony fields. Despite the great efforts the parents went through to watch their son receive
an education, the son himself was throttled [with] rage. This is because the son enjoyed his life on the

Persuasive Essay On Forgiveness
In a biblical manner, forgiveness roughly translates to letting go . Instead of holding a grudge to the
offender, we should give them pardon. In Luke 11:4, we are given the passage of: And forgive us our
sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver
us from evil. Jesus used an example of this when comparing a person seeking repayment from a debt
found in Matthew 18:23 35. Likewise, the act of forgiving does not come easy. In order to begin the
journey of forgiveness, one should first let go of any resentment towards the particular person or
situation that is causing destress. Once the resentment is gone, one can attempt to abandon the notion
of being rewarded for their loss whether financial, personal, or something else. Forgiveness also
entails benefits that can improve health and increase our progress towards living a wholesome
Christian life. Proverbs 14:30 tells us that a heart with a peace and calmness in it gives life to the body
but one with jealousy and bitterness leads to wrong desires similar to rotting bones. However, the
greatest part to forgiving others is to exemplify how God forgave us for our own sins. In order to be
forgiven by God, we must forgive people for their sins. If we fail to do this though, God will not
forgive us for our sins (Matthew 6:14 15). 2 Peter 1:10 dictates that Christians should be more eager in
making their calling and election since doing these makes sure that we will never fail. Our calling is
God s salvation for us while our election is God picking us to be saved. Since God called and elected
on us from his own glory and goodness, we must serve as examples to others by pursuing Godly
virtues while actively living in a Christian lifestyle. Numerous people struggle in letting go of their
respective past and carry on their baggage into their future. Not only does this prevent them from
growing, it prevents them from achieving a happy life. As we interact with people similar to this, we
can show them that they too can be resolved from their past issues.
Personally, I forgive pretty easily as I think holding grudges is a waste of time and does not
accomplish anything positive. However, I did have a hard time

Comparison of William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and...
The two short stories A Rose for Emily and The Yellow Wallpaper are two very similar but at the same
time very different. The main characters Emily Grierson, from William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily ,
and the narrator, from Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow Wall Paper, are both in the same boat
that many women were placed in the late 1800 s and the early 1900 s. Both of these two stories were
written in a generation that women were looked downed upon and made to feel less important than
males. I feel these two stores are similar in terms of where women stood in society at that time and
how society affected emotional downfalls in both of these main characters. These women are both the
protagonists of each of those two stories who both go from being extremely depressed and lonely to
absolutely insane. However, these stories are written in totally different point of views which creates
two totally different outlooks. A rose for Emily is written in third person while Yellow Wallpaper is
written in first person. Also, the characters are different in terms of that they have two completely
different personalities. The two authors ideas in both of these stories focus on how women are looked
down upon in different situations and generations in society at that time of history. The Yellow
Wallpaper is written in first person, which kind of gives it a personal dairy feel into the characters
mindset that is suffering from post partum depression but the main

Ida B. Wells was a woman dedicated to a cause, a cause to prevent hundreds of thousands of people
from being murdered by lynching. Lynching is defined as to take the law into its own hands and kill
someone in punishment for a crime or a presumed crime. Ida B. Wells amp;#8217; back round made
her a logical spokesperson against lynching. She drew on many experiences throughout her life to aid
in her crusade. Her position as a black woman, however, affected her credibility both in and out of

Her energetic campaign for truth and justice gave her a lot of attention to fuel her crusade. All these
factors support the fact that her background made her an ample spokes person for the anti lynching
campaign. Adding to her credibility, personal experiences also gave her more of a drive to continue
her crusade.
She became a leading community activist through a sequence of events. In 1884 Ida was riding a train
in a first class car, when she was asked to move to the smoking car. When she refused, two conductors
tried to physically move her. She instead got off the train and filed a discrimination lawsuit. The
lawsuit was initially won, but the Tennessee Supreme Court overturned the verdict. After the train
incident, in 1889, Ida went to The Free Speech paper; this is where her most promising worked
developed. In 1892, three of her friends were brutally killed during a lynching. This one particular
event opened the eyes of Wells and prompted her to write some of her most controversial works yet.
However this type of writing got the Free Speech office ransacked and destroyed. The other owner of
the Free Speech barely escaped with his life, but he carried the message that if Ida were to show her
face ever again in Tennessee she would be killed. Now with all this ammunition based on personal
experience, even as an African American woman, she had gained credibility to be able to speak with

Short Story Gryphon By Charles Baxter
In the short story Gryphon by Charles Baxter, it starts out with Mr. Hibler, a boy named Tommy and
his 4th grade class teacher, getting sick and needing Miss Ferenczi as a substitute. Miss Ferenczi
basically abandons the lesson plan and just talks and talks about very interesting things in place of
having class, even going so far as to bringing in a tarot pack to tell the class fortunes on the last day.
Though Tommy liked Miss Ferenczi, other classmates were upset with her, so she then gets fired and
the class spends the afternoon with Mrs. Mantei s class for science. In the story, Tommy was shown to
have defended Miss Ferenczi. I think this is because she was a change from Tommy s usually boring
life. In lines 468 485 and 621 626, Tommy s mother tells him to do chores and ignores his excited talk
about Miss Ferenczi, which implies that Tommy has routine chores to do daily, and is kind of bored of
them. Because he was so used to coming home to a list of chores every single day and having a
routine schedule, he was excited to have something new, Miss F, and wanted to keep it that way,
therefore defending her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The, The Fire, And The Rope
By far Dana showed the most relevance to the novel. She impacted on Rufus s decisions and made
him think for himself. Dana is an African American woman in her late 20 s teleporting back in time
during the antebellum to her old ancestors, which later she discovers about, and also is considered a
slave. Dana has connected to every character throughout the novel. Rufus, Sarah, Alice and many
more. Throughout her journey to Maryland during the 1700 s and 1800 s she learned many things, like
believing only in herself. To begin with, Rufus s life depended on Dana, since she was the only one
who knew how to help him every time he got into a problem. The novel s chapters correlate with
every situation Rufus got into; the river, the fire, the fall, the fight, the storm, and the rope. The reason
Dana saves Rufus s life is because later on she discovers that he is her great, great ancestor whom she
had to save, to save herself. This shows the relevance of her presence there, not only she cared for
Rufus, but also considered herself as the one who supposed to help him. Another example that shows
Dana s relevance in the novel is by helping other slaves. For example, Alice, after the fight between
Isaac and Rufus because of Rufus s attempt to rape Alice who apparently was Isaac s wife. The reason
this shows her relevance to the novel because once again, she saves Rufus from being killed by Isaac
after her try to convince them to run and Rufus will let them escape without telling

Canadian Food Research Paper
4 Canadian food Last Friday, my friend and I were taken to the cafeteria by Mr. Brian and ate famous
Canadian food, poutine, for the first time. Poutine is popular fast food in Canada, and it includes deep
fried potato with gravy and cheese curds. The appearance is not good, but the taste is excellent. I was
surprised to eat my first taste and I want to know Canadian food more. Basically, Canadian food is
mostly a mixture. A former prime minister in Canada, Joe Clark said, Canada has a cuisine of cuisines.
Not a stew pot, but a smorgasbord . It means that Canadian food is influenced by various immigrants
and all in all, the roots are First Nation, the UK, and France. This is some examples of famous
Canadian food, Pemmican from First Nation, Nanaimo bar from Vancouver, poutine from France, and
pancakes and maple syrup from the UK and New England.

There are various theories about the history of poutine, but the most widespread claim comes from a
restaurant in Warwick, Quebec in 1957. The owner is the first one to have served poutine as we know
it today and it has developed in stage and now there are a lot of flavor for poutine with beef and
lobster.
All in all, Canadian food was originated from other countries and have been developed in Canada. It is
commonly said that Canada is a melting pot of cuisines. As one of the reasons for the fact, Canadian
food connects with multiculturalism. As people migrated to Canada during the war, some traditional
food like poutine and pancakes were brought to Canada in the past. As the result, multiculturalism in
Canada was promoted and now food around the world are creating a culture of Canada while
intermingling. Therefore, as multiculturalism is progressed, Canadian food will vary in the

  • 2. Raising Money For The Fund Raising money for the Rally for the Jimmy Fund over the last few weeks has been an eye opening experience into both the world of fundraising for charity as well as in professional sales. Getting out into the real world and applying skills from classroom that were still fresh in your mind was a far better learning experience than weekly homework assignments. The Jimmy Fund is a charity that does a great job branding and making its presence known so convincing people to donate was less of telling them about the product and more getting them to open up their wallets and actually make a donation. As the weeks progressed and we began to learn more and more about selling it became much easier to speak with people and get my point across about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third week I focused on Emails to people that I knew that worked in with an attached interest gaining statement with my personal donation link for them to send along to anyone they believed would be willing to donate. The fourth week was where I focused more on my family members and family friends, sending texts, personal emails, and making calls to people that would take the time to donate. Finally, the fifth week was meant for follow ups as well as reaching out to a close contacts that would put me over my goal of $601. I believe that this approach would let me find out what worked and what didn t while still giving me time to reach my goal. I chose the people that I requested donations from very carefully, I believed that it was important, when it came down to it to have people that I truly believed would make a donation and focused hard on them rather than sending spam emails to everyone I can asking for donations. My immediate family was an easy choice, my mother loves volunteering and my father has a sales career so they were an easy target for getting a donation, especially since raising a lot of money gave me a better grade. After that I focused on family that work in business and had a lot of connections who would want to donate to the cause, I have two cousins working at the startup Gradifi, a brother who works for a growing company, Domo, in Utah, my dad at Ironside, and a cousin at Dell/EMC in ... • 3. Settling In The West Essay Settling in the west After the Civil War, a dynamic period in American history opened the settlement of the West. The lives of Western miners, farmers, and ranchers were often filled with great hardships, but the wave of American settlers continued. railroads hastened this nation during this period, many Native Americans lost their homeland and their way of life. Back in the day, the cowboys were often people who herd and tend to the cattle. Cattle ranching or the practice of raising livestock such as sheep or cattle for meat or wool, was driven by the population in the west and their desire to eat meat. When Cortez defeated the empire of the Aztec and Mayan they were rich beyond their mind, but they lacked cattle so they imported cattle to Tampico, Mexico where there was lots of open range for cattle. Hence they created cattle ranching for meat. The cattle ranches not only provided meat, but also leather and candles. Small cattle and small farms of the Anglo colonies could be controlled by foot but the bigger cattle s required different technology. They created the method of lassoing and it took many ... Historians believe that one of the reasons that helped cause pioneers to settle west were because they wanted to find better jobs to support their families and they were told they would have a better life in the west. With many people moving west sometimes it caused a problem of crowding, but people still wanted to move west. The biggest factor that contributed to brining pioneers west was an opportunity to buy land. Land in the West was cheaper than land in the East. People moved West in many ways, such as the railroad or by foot. When people moved into Iowa they began to build and establish farms. People who settled in the frontier faced many problems. • 4. Traditional Native American Culture Long before the white man discovered America, people have already been living here. These people are known as the Native Americans. As the settlers came to the native land, they brought firm beliefs with them that ended up causing great conflicts with the native people. It was clear that the travelers and the native people could not live among one another since the native people has their own set of values and they were much different than the white man s beliefs. Traditional Lakota spirituality is a form of religious belief that each thing, plant and animal has a spirit. The traditional Native American community was a small group of related families. Each community included a headman, a man would accomplish this position of leadership by demonstrating characteristics valued by the group, such as generosity, wisdom, fortitude, and spiritual power gained through dreams and visions. The Natives felt that the more isolated and rural the population was the more traditional it tended to be. Fraternal societies were also significant within the community life. Memberships to this society was by invitation only. The point of the society was to function as a tribal council. The eighteenth century saw the transformation of tea as an everyday necessity for the poor and working class of the British society. To meet the domestic demand at home, the British East India Company imported great volumes of tea from China. The tea import increased from an estimated 64 tons in 1711 to 6800 tons in 1791. Even heavy import tax could not deter an increasingly expanding domestic market for the Chinese tea. • 8. Fei Lecture WHAT IS GOODWILL? The main method used by businesses to classify assets is to split them into tangible assets, which have a separate existence from the business (examples of which would include buildings, land and machinery), and intangibles which do not. Some clear examples of intangibles include goodwill, patents, research and development expenditure and trademarks. Intangible assets are usually created within the organisation over a period of time, by the company itself, rather than acquired from an external source and are rarely sold off individually – they can normally only be sold in conjunction with associated tangible assets. Robins, in his essay FRS 10: Goodwill and Intangible Assets identifies three sources of goodwill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was not allowable to carry goodwill at cost indefinitely. By immediately writing off purchased goodwill the company makes the treatment of goodwill equitable throughout the company. As inherent goodwill is not shown as a direct asset in the usual balance sheet it seems contradictory and inconsistent to record purchased goodwill. In addition, as it is not possible to realise goodwill independently of the company and it cannot be attributed a capital worth in a liquidation it seems unrealistic to record goodwill as an asset in the balance sheet. This would also suggest that amortisation of the intangible asset over any period should not be deferred and attributed to any future income. However, in practise the immediate write off to reserves is not altogether straightforward. As the goodwill has already been allocated an economic value for the purposes of the company sale it is difficult to argue that purchased goodwill is not an asset. The immediate writing off the amount to reserves ignores the existence of purchased goodwill. As outlined by Robins, it is also inconsistent to charge expenses incurred for building up inherent goodwill to the profit and loss account and to write off purchased goodwill against the reserves By amortising the intangible fixed asset through the profit and loss account either over its economic useful life or over a specific number of years, the goodwill can ... Kushner s two part drama expounds some of the many difficulties encountered by gays during this time period. While two of his characters, Joe Pitt and Roy Cohn, both struggle significantly with their sexual orientation and identity, their troubles surface as a result of different aspects of their lives. Joe Pitt, who, as it becomes clear, is a closeted homosexual, holds both political and religious views that do not mesh well with his sexual orientation. Current Reaganite and lifelong republican, Joe was raised on conservative, right wing values. As if that weren t enough, Joe is also a Mormon and belongs to a religious community that forbids any sexual behavior between two people of the same gender and deems such homosexual acts a sin punishable by a disciplinary council ( Homosexuality ). During his first homosexual encounter, Joe expresses his fears of punishment not simply from his church community, but from God himself: JOE: I... want... to touch you. Can I please just touch you... um, here? (He puts his hand on one side of Louis s face. He holds it there.) I m going to Hell for doing this. Its simplicity and catchy acronym perpetuates its usage in business and beyond as the tool is used to assess alternatives and complex decision situations. In the business arena the grouping of internal and external issues is a frequent starting point for strategic planning. Specifically, studies were sought that indicated sole use of SWOT analysis or if SWOT was used in combination with other long range strategic planning tools. The authors next used affinity diagrams to group and classify the collected studies using summaries on index cards. Affinity diagrams are a popular text clustering technique used to categorize large number of seemingly disparate comments ([41] Dobrzynski, 2007; [106] Levesque and Walker, 2007; [132] Plain, 2007; [196] White et al. , 2002; [117] Mango, 2006). The affinity diagram methodology was chosen due to its importance as an interpretative, qualitative approach to research, allowing for investigation and emergence of multiple contextual variables or classification schemes. The objective of the methodology is to utilize the qualitative data for explanatory purposes and to generalize findings in support of theory based on a distillation of the various respondent comments. The clustering of issues into logical categories helps draw inferences from the data collected. Thus the goal is to better understand categories of service failures and identify the service failures that result in customer defection. The researchers summarized, grouped, and clustered the comments by key themes and focus areas. Through the iterative process, major classifications were identified ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. What Is Infrared Pading When it comes to repairing asphalt pavement, timing is critical. The longer that a break in the pavement is allowed to go without proper repair, the more likely it becomes that you will incur extensive damage that will be costly to resolve. Once a pothole develops, it can allow a substantial amount of water to reach the pavement s supporting foundation. The foundation becomes eroded, additional potholes form and existing potholes turn into craters that can cause serious damage to vehicles and painful injuries to pedestrians. What Causes Potholes? Although potholes can potentially result from improper installation of the asphalt pavement, most of the time, they are weather related. If cracks are not filled, water can leak underneath the pavement. Sand and gravel may collect in the crack as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To understand why infrared paving is an ideal choice for repairing potholes, it might be helpful to review how traditional repairs are typically made. In most cases, the contractor would remove the damaged area by cutting it out with a saw before installing new asphalt. This method leaves a seam where the new asphalt meets the existing pavement, and this seam is a weak point that could fail, allowing water penetration to occur. Furthermore, if the weather is quite cold, the contractor might have to resort to a temporary patch using a cold mix material, requiring a second repair once conditions permit. Infrared paving eliminates cold seams and can be performed in cooler weather than most hot mix repairs. In fact, infrared paving can often be performed in the middle of winter in the Connecticut area. Infrared technology is used to heat and soften the area needing repair as well as a small part of the surrounding pavement. Once the area has been softened enough, the asphalt is worked and new asphalt is mixed in if it is needed. The repaired area is seamlessly fused to the existing pavement for a strong, durable repair that is often virtually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Did Greek Culture Influence The Minoan Culture In order to explain the influence the Minoan and Mycenaean cultures had on the later Greeks it is important to understand the beginnings of Greek culture. The first known civilization of Greek culture were the Minoans, consequently, there is not a lot of information about this group (The Flow of History, 2007). The language used by the Minoans is referred to as Linear A, the language is said to have been the foundation for later Greek language. The Mycenaeans broadened the Linear A language to make it their own, it is known as Linear B. The Minoans were thought to be a peaceful society, conversely, the Mycenaeans were geared most toward warfare. The peacefulness of the Minoan culture is depicted in their artwork, pottery, as well as their architecture (The Flow of History, 2007). Without the formation of unions such as the United Farm Workers founded by Chavez and Huerta in 1962, vulnerable workers would have no defense against the systemic exploitation and violations against their rights as workers and as human beings (Brubaker, 2007, p. 96). Introduction In February 2014, a report was released by the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The report detailed a number of human rights abuses that the country has allegedly committed. Because of the report a United Nations committee has called for the Security Council to refer North Korea to the International Court (ICC) for committing crimes against humanity. Using the report that the Commission issued as a guideline, I will examine whether or not it is plausible to state that the United States of America should be indicted for crimes against humanity as compared to the DPRK. Representatives of North Korea have stated that the United States needs to accept the accusations of the broad international community. It seems that North Korea thinks that the United States has committed crimes against humanity. Whether or not there is validity in that statement, it is worth investigating and comparing. • 29. Persuasive Essay On Forgiveness In a biblical manner, forgiveness roughly translates to letting go . Instead of holding a grudge to the offender, we should give them pardon. In Luke 11:4, we are given the passage of: And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Jesus used an example of this when comparing a person seeking repayment from a debt found in Matthew 18:23 35. Likewise, the act of forgiving does not come easy. In order to begin the journey of forgiveness, one should first let go of any resentment towards the particular person or situation that is causing destress. Once the resentment is gone, one can attempt to abandon the notion of being rewarded for their loss whether financial, personal, or something else. Forgiveness also entails benefits that can improve health and increase our progress towards living a wholesome Christian life. Proverbs 14:30 tells us that a heart with a peace and calmness in it gives life to the body but one with jealousy and bitterness leads to wrong desires similar to rotting bones. However, the greatest part to forgiving others is to exemplify how God forgave us for our own sins. In order to be forgiven by God, we must forgive people for their sins. If we fail to do this though, God will not forgive us for our sins (Matthew 6:14 15). 2 Peter 1:10 dictates that Christians should be more eager in making their calling and election since doing these makes sure that we will never fail. Our calling is God s salvation for us while our election is God picking us to be saved. Since God called and elected on us from his own glory and goodness, we must serve as examples to others by pursuing Godly virtues while actively living in a Christian lifestyle. Numerous people struggle in letting go of their respective past and carry on their baggage into their future. Not only does this prevent them from growing, it prevents them from achieving a happy life. As we interact with people similar to this, we can show them that they too can be resolved from their past issues. Lynching is defined as to take the law into its own hands and kill someone in punishment for a crime or a presumed crime. Ida B. Wells amp;#8217; back round made her a logical spokesperson against lynching. She drew on many experiences throughout her life to aid in her crusade. Her position as a black woman, however, affected her credibility both in and out of America in a few different ways. Her parents nurtured the background of this crusader to make her a great spokesperson. She also held positions throughout her life that allowed her to learn a lot about lynching. She was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her energetic campaign for truth and justice gave her a lot of attention to fuel her crusade. All these factors support the fact that her background made her an ample spokes person for the anti lynching campaign. Adding to her credibility, personal experiences also gave her more of a drive to continue her crusade. She became a leading community activist through a sequence of events. In 1884 Ida was riding a train in a first class car, when she was asked to move to the smoking car. When she refused, two conductors tried to physically move her. She instead got off the train and filed a discrimination lawsuit. The lawsuit was initially won, but the Tennessee Supreme Court overturned the verdict. After the train incident, in 1889, Ida went to The Free Speech paper; this is where her most promising worked developed. In 1892, three of her friends were brutally killed during a lynching. This one particular event opened the eyes of Wells and prompted her to write some of her most controversial works yet. However this type of writing got the Free Speech office ransacked and destroyed. The other owner of the Free Speech barely escaped with his life, but he carried the message that if Ida were to show her face ever again in Tennessee she would be killed. Now with all this ammunition based on personal experience, even as an African American woman, she had gained credibility to be able to speak with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Short Story Gryphon By Charles Baxter In the short story Gryphon by Charles Baxter, it starts out with Mr. Hibler, a boy named Tommy and his 4th grade class teacher, getting sick and needing Miss Ferenczi as a substitute. Miss Ferenczi basically abandons the lesson plan and just talks and talks about very interesting things in place of having class, even going so far as to bringing in a tarot pack to tell the class fortunes on the last day. Though Tommy liked Miss Ferenczi, other classmates were upset with her, so she then gets fired and the class spends the afternoon with Mrs. Mantei s class for science. In the story, Tommy was shown to have defended Miss Ferenczi. I think this is because she was a change from Tommy s usually boring life. In lines 468 485 and 621 626, Tommy s mother tells him to do chores and ignores his excited talk about Miss Ferenczi, which implies that Tommy has routine chores to do daily, and is kind of bored of them. Because he was so used to coming home to a list of chores every single day and having a routine schedule, he was excited to have something new, Miss F, and wanted to keep it that way, therefore defending her. ... As stated in lines 39 50, Miss Ferenczi wasn t a substitute the class had seen before, and the pool was only four unemployed mothers they d all had before, which probably made Tommy hope Miss F was different. When Miss F really ended up being different, telling the strangest stories and even the class fortunes, Tommy started out thinking she was crazy, but then began liking and respecting her, and even defending her. This shows that Tommy didn t like things in a steady, boring routine, and that he defended Miss F because she wasn t like that, but rather was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The, The Fire, And The Rope By far Dana showed the most relevance to the novel. She impacted on Rufus s decisions and made him think for himself. Dana is an African American woman in her late 20 s teleporting back in time during the antebellum to her old ancestors, which later she discovers about, and also is considered a slave. Dana has connected to every character throughout the novel. Rufus, Sarah, Alice and many more. Throughout her journey to Maryland during the 1700 s and 1800 s she learned many things, like believing only in herself. To begin with, Rufus s life depended on Dana, since she was the only one who knew how to help him every time he got into a problem. The novel s chapters correlate with every situation Rufus got into; the river, the fire, the fall, the fight, the storm, and the rope. The reason Dana saves Rufus s life is because later on she discovers that he is her great, great ancestor whom she had to save, to save herself. This shows the relevance of her presence there, not only she cared for Rufus, but also considered herself as the one who supposed to help him. Another example that shows Dana s relevance in the novel is by helping other slaves. For example, Alice, after the fight between Isaac and Rufus because of Rufus s attempt to rape Alice who apparently was Isaac s wife. The reason this shows her relevance to the novel because once again, she saves Rufus from being killed by Isaac after her try to convince them to run and Rufus will let them escape without telling ... A term that describes the hatred or entrenched prejudice towards women and the downgrading of females in social hierarchies. This form of discrimination to women is thinly disguised in today s modernising world, but nevertheless remains deeply manifested in society. Koro Apriana developed his views and opinions from his childhood where his elders imprinted the rules and moral values of the Maori people in order to prepare him for his role as chief. However, in those years, the role of the women in society was to remain in the home tending to children and preparing meals; whereas in the modernising western world women have been empowered and viewed as capable. • 36. Mitostop Body Mitostop is said to be effective in slowing the growth of malignant brain tumours. Although this experimental drug is effective in slowing down the growth process of the tumour, Mitostop causes Arteriovenous Anastomoses (AVA s) that over time can affect the normal functioning of the body and its organs. The drug Mitostop increases the occurrence of AVA s within the body by 1000 times. When glucose levels are low the liver breaks down glycogen to glucose and releases it into the bloodstream (Jenkins Tortora, 2013). If this function were impaired due to a lack of blood flow through the liver cells due to the formation of AVA s homeostasis would not be maintained within our bodies creating an imbalance. He is handling all the phone calls while the receptionist is at lunch. A patient calls and says he must have a prescription refill for Valium and that the provider, a friend, calls in the medication prior to any flights. Poutine is popular fast food in Canada, and it includes deep fried potato with gravy and cheese curds. The appearance is not good, but the taste is excellent. I was surprised to eat my first taste and I want to know Canadian food more. Basically, Canadian food is mostly a mixture. A former prime minister in Canada, Joe Clark said, Canada has a cuisine of cuisines. Not a stew pot, but a smorgasbord . It means that Canadian food is influenced by various immigrants and all in all, the roots are First Nation, the UK, and France. This is some examples of famous Canadian food, Pemmican from First Nation, Nanaimo bar from Vancouver, poutine from France, and pancakes and maple syrup from the UK and New England. Therefore, in the absence of specific procedures or guidelines, commanders must determine a Marine s compliance with standards in this regulation. This regulation prescribes the authorization for wear, composition, and classification of uniforms, and the occasions for wearing all personal, (clothing bag issue), optional, and commonly worn organizational Marine uniforms.
