6. Qualitative Research
• Definition
Research that has more information and is more than one word
makes the person make there research better
• Advantages
That it gives you more than one word answer and it gives you more to work
with
• Disadvantages
That you get loads of information that isn’t useful and they get off topic
• Example
– Focus groups

• Definition
research measuring changing levels of media consumption amongst target audiences
• Advantages
Time Savings, Cost Efficient
• Disadvantages
Not as easy to measure and analyses.

8. Market Research
• Definition
Finding out what's in the market what's already been made
• Advantages
That you can find out what's in the market so you don’t
make the same thing

You might have thought of your own idea but it might
already be a thing
• Example
Look for things that are out there and try to find things like
the product you want to make like if you were making a
horror film you would look at films in the genre
9. Production Research
• Definition to get information on the content of production related
issues.
• Advantages Helps in scanning multiple marketplaces and the ongoing
trends in such marketplaces easily.
• Disadvantages how much time it takes to do the questionnaires and the
interviews
• Example, research online, YouTube, books, sticky notes
10. Terminology
• Objective its not influenced by personal feelings, interpretations
and factual infomation.
• Subjective influenced by emotions and opinions
• Valid justifiable : being at once relevant and meaningful
• Reliable consistently good in quality or performance; able to be
trusted.
