2. Process
• The process of this is that I used the paint
bucket tool I did this because it saved a
lot of time and it also made it easier to
make the hole back of it blue and then I
made a cloud using the pencil tool and
then I duplicated it to save a lot of time
because it would have taken a lot of time
to draw them all on their own to make
more clouds and then turn down the
opacity to change the tone of the white.
• I also use the zoom in and zoom out tool
so I could see the whole cloud and it
made it easier to see exactly what I was
drawing and I also made like a little
animation just of the clouds because In
future I might want to make the clouds
move to make the clouds look like they
are moving to make the animation look a
little bit better
3. Process
• The process of this one was where I was
animating it to make the clouds move
and to make it look more realistic for
my background of my game
• The tools that I had used in this was the
opacity tool to make the clouds fade a
little bit because it made them look a
little bit more realistic because not
every cloud would have been fully white
because real ones don’t I also made
them move in a little animation I was
moving them side to side to show that
the clouds were moving all of the time,
the animation style was stop motion I
choose this because it was easier to
make them move a little bit and so on
4. Process
• The process of this one was that I made it
look like the sky and some grass to show
that I was going to be a good day on my
game. This background is universally
recognised because people will know the
blue is for the sky and the green is used
for the grass and a few other games use
these as the background because its easy
for people to know and kids know it and
it can help them
• The tools that I had used to make this
was the pain bucket tool I used this
because it made it quicker to draw
otherwise, I would have had to draw the
background pixel by pixel and it would
have taken quite a lot of time and I
wanted to give the effect that it was set
during the day, and I wanted it to look
like there was grass to show that it was
somewhere outside and not inside.
5. Process
• The process of this one was that I
changed the blue in the background to
show it going darker and I used the
gradient tool I did this because it
helped make the sky look like it was
getting dark because it had a darker bit
at the top and it started to get a little
bit darker to make different shade of
blue to make it darker and I also added
a sun so that I could show a sunset in
the background.
• I made these because I wanted to
show a daytime background and then
the sun setting because in future I
might to add daytime and night-time
levels
6. Process
• The process of this one was that I showed like
the sun moving and starting to go down and i
tried to make like a sunset to show that it is
going to get dark, the animation on the
screen was that the sun started in the top
right corner and it started to come down into
the middle to show the sound setting and it
starting to get darker when the sun is moving,
it was moving not to fast but you could see it
moving a little bit and it started to fade
behind the grass and slowly started to
disappear I wanted to show this because I
wanted to show that the sun was starting to
set and then disappearing and them the stars
come out because then I could use it as the
levels getting harder as it starts to get
darker.
• In this one I wanted to show like a sun going
down and it starting to get dark in the
background
7. Process
• The process of this one was that I made
the sun disappear and then change the
shade of blue in the sky and made it
darker and then I put some stars there to
show that it was night.
• I wanted to make this one because I
wanted to show that it was during the
night because if I wanted to make a level
during the dark for my game, I would
have already had the background if I had
wanted to use it in the future.
• I think that this background is simple, but
it doesn’t really have to be complicated
because if it was, they can be a little bit
distracting, and the stars are easy to draw
because it only like a few dots and you
can just turn the stars on and off to show
them twinkling.
8. Process
The process of this one was that I made like some
mountain that looked like they are in the
background I got the perception of the mountain
being further way because I had put the grass
Infront of the mountain to make it look like it was
further away, and it is the colours of the mountain
because they're not blue and I also started to do a
little bit of shading and drew some grass I used a
different layer for the shading so if I did it wrong, I
could have just deleted the shading without
rubbing out the mountain.
I made this one because I wanted to show the
mountain that is in the background, and I wanted to
show that a mountain isn’t just one colour, so I put
a little bit of darker bits to show like rocks and like a
drop near the top of the mountain.
9. Process
The process of this one was that I started to draw some tree like it
was going to be set in like a forest of some kind and I used the pencil
tool to draw them I did this because then I could make all the tress a
different size so they didn’t all look the same because it would have
been a little bit boring. I duplicated all the trees, but I did draw
some more on the tress that I duplicated so I could make them a
little bit different from each other I did this because I wanted to
save a little bit of time because they would have taken to long and I
could change them after I duplicated them. I also drew the sky with
some clouds in it
I also wanted to show that my mountain was during the day, so I
made it with a blue sky and some clouds so show it was day and I
was also putting some tress at the bottom of the mountain because
I wanted to show something like a forest because people in my
survey wanted to see a little bit of a woods
10. Process
The process of this one was that
I finished off making the tree so
it would look more like a Forrest
and I also drew some snow on
the mountains to make them
look a little bit more realistic
On this one I wanted to show
that the mountain was a snowy
mountain so I wanted to show
that it had some snow on it and
it looked like it was coming
slightly of the mountain it gives
you an idea of the magnitude of
the mountains because of the
snow so the mountain must be
tall
11. Process
The process of this one was that I duplicated all of
the layers I did this to save a lot of time because I
would have had to draw it all again and it would
have taken too long but I did change the sky colour
to a nigh time colour to show it was night from
the one that I had just made and then I started to
make all of the things that I had made and them
made them a little bit darker and I also forgot to
make all of the clouds on a separate layer so I can
move them so I did that as well
I also wanted to show the mountain and the
background and see what it would look like during
the night because in the future I might have
wanted to make some levels in my game during
the night to make it a little bit scary I did this to
show it was night and I wanted to make the game
more difficult as it starts to get dark.
12. process
The process of this one was that I
finished off making the clouds and then
coloured in the clouds on the
background underneath and this is the
fished background that is during the
night, and I also made the same one
but with a brighter blue to show that it
was during the day. I did this by hiding
the sky layer and just drawing over the
daytime and make the blue aa darker
one to show night.
13. process
The process of this one was that I was trying to make
an animal that could be used in my final game and
the tools that I used were the pencil tool and the fill
tool.
I made this character because I wanted to show
something that lived in the UK and in the wild to
show that it was set somewhere in the UK with a
mountain and some woods, I did find a template
from the internet, but I did change it a little bit, so it
wasn’t exactly the same as the one that I had found
the image at the bottom was the one that I found,
and I copied it a little bit. It wasn’t drawn to scale
when I made it, but I was able to make it bigger by
resizing it I did consider animating the walking later I
did make it walking a little bit during my game.
14. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• The elements of my experiments that I will include in my final product will be some of the
backgrounds because I think that they would look good especially the cloud one because I
think that it would be good and make my game more realistic.
• I choose these designs and animation styles because I thought that they would look really
good and go really well with pixels because the mountains and the trees went really well
with the theme because it had some animals that normally live in the woods and maybe
near a mountain.
• The things that I found easier was making the background because it was just colouring in
the background
• The things that were a bit difficult was making the mountains because sometime when I
was drawing I didn’t really know when to make the point at the top of the mountain it
wouldn’t join up properly
– I did like the final product because I think that in the end I got the mountain exactly how I wanted it and
it looks really good and I also like the way that I have made the goat and it looks really good.
– I was also experimenting with the characters that I had made because I wanted to make them move but
some of the time it got a bit hard but I got there in the end.
– I also think that the title screen was really good because I made the letters to spell mountain mani
