• Circulation: the public availability or knowledge of something
• Hits: the amount of times someone has requested/ listened to a song
• Box Office Figures: the exact amount a certain movie has made
• Ratings: information on how frequent people watch a certain show
• Sales: the amount of times people have bought a certain product

3. Primary Research
• Definition the main research material
• Advantages is the main type of research
• Disadvantages isn’t always reliable
• Example a questionnaire

4. Secondary Research
• Definition a secondary piece of information
• Advantages can compare it to a different type of
information
• Disadvantages isn't always true
• Example market research

5. Quantitative Research
• Definition research that you can quantify or measure
• Advantages can see how much of something is
• Disadvantages isn’t always accurate
• Example pie chart

6. Qualitative Research
• Definition research that goes into more depth
• Advantages can get deeper opinions on somethings
• Disadvantages wont always be accurate
• Example reviews, responses, discussions, forums

7. Audience Research
• Definition research conducted on a certain audience
• Advantages can get group opinions
• Disadvantages not everyone in in the group will agree
• Example focus groups

• Definition asking questions to the public about a certain product
• Advantages can get opinions and suggestions from the public
• Disadvantages not everyone wants to answer questions
• Example questionnaires

9. Production Research
• Definition finding information and resources required to produce a piece
of media
• Advantages can find things you want to include in the piece of media
• Disadvantages might not be able to find certain pieces or images you want
• Example making a game and cant find the right background

10. Terminology
• Objective something you have to achieve
• Subjective something you need to research
• Valid something you’re able to use
• Reliable something you can count as true.
