An effective teacher is one who can help all students develop their skills, gives extra help to struggling students, provides clear explanations to help students learn rather than confuse them, engages students through various resources, and teaches passionately. Effective learning means retaining knowledge long-term and finding real-world applications, not just answering tests. For the Chilean education system to succeed it needs good teachers from the start, with universities properly training and only allowing experts to teach. The author hopes to contribute by putting in maximum effort to become a good teacher who considers all student needs and learning styles.

2.  What is an effective teacher?
An effective teacher is a teacher who is capable of overcoming all the differences of
their students and helps their students to develop all their competences. Teachers
who make the most of their time and help the students who are behind the average
level of the class. Furthermore, effective teachers need to give clear explanations to
their students, because their purpose is to make they learnt and not to confuse them.
To do that they can use more resources for engaging their students and make they
learnt in an easier way. Moreover, effective teachers enjoy teaching and do they
work passionately. It is noticeable for students when teachers love what they are
doing, because they are always available to solve their students’ doubts.
 What does effective learning mean for you?
An effective learning means that the contents that students have learnt at school last
throughout the time. Besides, when students learnt effectively, they have not learnt
just for answering a test their knowledge live on. Taking the concept of effective
learning to the teaching of English, teachers should teach their students things that
will be useful for them in real life, because if they see the usefulness of what they
are going to learn they will be more motivated and the learning would be certainly
effective.
 What does the Chilean education system need to be successful?
Chilean education needs to have good teachers, because they are the ones in
charge of making students learn the most. They need to be proficient enough in
order to be able to teach, because they have a huge responsibility. Besides, to be
successful Chilean education needs to improve from the beginning, it means that the
universities which are forming teachers must have good teachers and must let them
to teach just when they are experts and ready to be the best in what they are doing.
Otherwise, Chilean education will not succeed.

3.  How do you hope to contribute to the national education system?
I am studying pedagogy to make changes in Chilean education and I pretend to do that
by making my best effort in order to be a good teacher. There are many factors to
consider for being a good teacher and I will try to take into an account most of them.
Different learning styles, different capabilities, different social backgrounds, among
others… All of those things should be considered at the moment of teaching, because
a good teacher must fulfil all their student’s needs and not be concerned about just a
few of them.
