Similarities Between The Vow And The Dybbuk
In the films The Vow, directed by Henryk Szaro, and The Dybbuk, written by S. Ansky,
the creators of both works describe a classic story of a promise between two fathers to
wed their unborn children together. The Vow and The Dybbuk begin with this promise,
but unfortunately in each film one of the fathers dies before the promise is fulfilled.
Ultimately, the children find each other but are posed with troubling complications that
prevent them from being together and having the promise fulfilled. Through the similar
plot structures, there are evident similarities between the two films, but there are also
differences among the methods that both writers used to approach the story. The creators
represent these similarities and differences in The... Show more content on

In regards to costume, both films were similar through the representation of Polish
nobility with their traditional outfit of a long robe. Because of the prominence of this
traditional form of clothing, both films have an emphasis on the traditional values of
society as represented through the older generation depicted in the films. However, in
both films, the younger generation conflicted with this orthodox culture in that they tried
to separate from the traditional values. For example, in The Vow, Jacob broke away
from many of his values in his time in Vilnius through performing activities such as
changing his clothing after receiving criticism from the more modern society (The Vow,
0:35:48). In The Dybbuk, Khannon also rejects similar cultural values by rejecting God
and accepting Satan after not being able to wed Leah (The Dybbuk, 1:01:10). The moral
conflict within these characters supports the message of intergenerational conflict
between the orthodox Yiddish culture and this new arising Yiddish culture through the
use of costumes and surroundings of the characters. Not only was this cultural conflict
present in the film, but it was also present in the life of S. Ansky who wrote The
Dybbuk. S. Ansky had resided in a town where he would provide books for the local

Suspense in Steven Spielberg s Movie Jaws Essay
Suspense in Steven Spielberg s Movie Jaws
Steven Spielberg, the creator of Jaws, uses many different techniques to draw in the
suspense of viewers and to capture their imagination. These techniques include special
effects to create tension, different camera angles to show facial expressions and group
shots. The classic Jaws music, known by millions of people, also helps build up tension,
to let us know when the shark is approaching. He uses colours, so that we can associate
signs and symbols to forthcoming events, e.g. the colour red is associated with danger.
We will be using all of the above devices to help analyse different parts of the film.
As soon as the film starts, from the title sequence, these techniques are ... Show more

The waves give off a really eerie effect, the whole scene just seems to bee too calm.
The next scene is off the girl swimming, but there is no music playing at all, and makes
the atmosphere feel eerie. You wonder what is going to happen next. Also the girl is
totally naked at this time, which makes her seem very vulnerable, as there is nothing
between her and the shark, except water. She is also away from the party, which makes
her seem unsafe.
The camera then starts to switch from the girls point of view, to the sharks point of
view. The girl is totally defenceless to the shark s capabilities, but using this effect allows
you to relate to both characters.
Next, you see a shot of the girl kicking her legs, and the camera slowly zooms in. This
shows the view from the shark s point of view, and shows the audience that the danger is
getting closer, which is certainly building the tension up.
The fact that we do not see the shark makes the audience feel quite uneasy, as in a way
we are uncertain of what the danger is. It also builds up a lot of fear, from our point of
view.
There are a lot pauses in the attack, which allows you to see the unconscious boy,
slumped on the beach. To me this shows us that the girl s only chance of survival is
totally oblivious to the current events, and is unaware of her screams. Also when the
camera switches onto the boy, it gives a chance to
Duty Of Care For Negligent Act
Introduction
Background to the answer:
ISSUE:
The area of law is Negligence and the issue is Adams (Plaintiff) injuries and his chances
of success in any legal action he might take in negligence against Simon (Defendant). The
question to be taken into consideration is that;
Could the defendant be found to have caused the damages?
Rule and Application
This aspect will address Duty of care for negligent act, standard of care and causation.
1st essential DoC: Did the defendant owe a Duty of Care to Plaintiff?
Historical approach from Donoghue v Stevenson
(I)Reasonable foreseeability
In tort law, foreseeability has been defined as the notion that a particular action viewed
under particular circumstances would lead to an anticipated result. This means that there
was a foreseeable injury, and a person has a chance of taking precautions and refrain from
the behaviour that could likely lead to the harm (Birmingham Brennan, 2012).
In saying this Simons damage to Adam was that of a foreseeable type even though he
had to throw his helmet that bounced on the ground and striked Adam through
frustration. In the case of The Wagon Mound No2 [1967]1AC617, The defendant s
vessel, The Wagon Mound, leaked furnace oil at a Wharf in Sydney Harbour due to
the failure to close a valve. Some cotton debris became embroiled in the oil and sparks
from some welding works ignited the oil. The fire spread rapidly causing destruction of
some boats and the wharf. It was held that the defendants
Second Amendment Exceptions
Making Exceptions to the Second Amendment The second amendment reads: A well
regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the
people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (United States Constitution). This
amendment was made in order to keep the freedom of the people of the United States
safe from a tyrannical government. This is not only inferred from but proved by the
words, being necessary to the security of a free State . On December 14th of 2012, in
the town of Newton, Connecticut a man named Adam Lanza forced himself into Sandy
Hook Elementary School and opened fire on the students and staff before ending the
spree by taking his own life. At the end of the tragic event, Lanza had killed... Show more

The constant discussion of taking away firearms or limiting their uses, causes the
public to go to the nearest firearm dealer and purchase the sorts of weapons being
banned before the legislation is enforced. Now there is a bigger problem, people who
have never touched a firearm now are an owner of such weapons. Some people decided
to give away these banned firearms, and could possibly give that weapon to a criminal
through private purchasing, making the amount of private sales increase drastically. With
more private sales, more unregistered firearm owners now have the banned firearms in
their possession making it easier to commit crimes such as the previously mentioned
mass shootings. Ironicly the laws made to stop such shootings actually just make it
Persuasive Essay On Visit To College
No matter what grade you re in, campus visits in any form are beneficial. A camp at the
university or college, a campus event, or your usual campus visit are all great ways to
experience the place you re considering calling home for your college years. My mom
had some great advice in this process for me which was what helped keep my somewhat
levelheaded during the college decision process.
Don t wait until senior year to do your visits
This is a sure way to be incredibly stressed out. Amongst all the efforts to survive the
year, don t put yourself in the situation of making a four hour trip one way to visit a
campus. It s a huge mistake.
My mom got onto me about this. She was excited for me to be preparing for this next
adventure in my life, but she and I had to coordinate schedules to make four or five hour
drives over the course of a day or a weekend.
With two of my visits, we drove down on Saturday, spent the night, did some seeing
around town (mostly involving food) on Sunday, and visited the campus on Monday in
the morning so we could drive back home on Monday. Make the most of your trip to
the campus, especially if it s farther away from home. Find a couple places to check out
or make your study home while you re in school.
2. Talk to a professor on campus
Even if you don t know what you want your major to be, talk to a professor on campus. If
you know your major, great. Talk to someone who s involved in teaching the program to
get a feel for if this
The Arab Spring Uprisings Essay
The Arab Spring Uprisings are political protests against the governments of Tunisia,
Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Morocco, and Jordan. (Manfreda, ) The protests
began in Tunisia when a vegetable vendor set himself on fire in protest of the actions
of the government. This incident is said to have been the spark that fueled the action of
the people to overthrow their governments. This region is being watched by every
country in the world. The world is watching to see how it will affect their political and
economic relationships with one another. Will the areas become democratic nations or
will they become shell states where terrorism runs rampant? December 17, 2010 was a

Social Criticism Of Abortion
According to Wikipedia, abortion is the premature exit of the products of conception (the
fetus, fetal membranes, and placenta) from the uterus. It is the loss of a pregnancy and
does not refer to why the pregnancy was lost. Abortion is a very contentious issue and
the attitude towards it has always been and is still very controversial. It has caused
uncounted deaths and several violent confrontations between the supporters of the two
separate parties. Pro life supporters advocate that everyone has the right to life, even
Fetus, and Pro choice supporters argue that the right to abortionis absolute. In Abortion,

reproductive life, one that should be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pollitt also insisted that woman should not have anyone s permission to make healthcare
decisions. Contraception is one of these decisions that woman should be making with her
doctor. She referred to the example of Trust Woman, a popular motto in the pro choice
movement. The movement gave the absolute right and freedom for every woman in the
abortion issue. It also supported women to make their own decisions, no one else can
make a better decision (p.15). Women seeking to terminate a pregnancyunderstand what
s going on. They don t need a patronizing reminder from politicians, or difficult rules
imposed by doctors, or even ethics from church or family. They only need to trust
themselves and take the right decision according to their life, health, and body. Pollitt has
even gone further with defending abortion as a constitutional right. The Supreme Court
has ruled on it, in 1973, in Roe v. Wadecase, which affirms the legality of a woman s
right to have an abortion under the Fourteenth Amendment. Why is it then, that women
who seek an abortion, are treated like criminals? Laws prohibiting abortion prevent
women from making the personal choices that enable them to live the lifestyle they
want, reducing their ability to contribute effectively to the society. Moreover, the ideal
abortion law, according to Pollitt, is a blank piece of paper. She approaches the

St. Thomas Aquinas Cosmological Proof of God s Existence St. Thomas Aquinas was
born in A.D 1225 close to Naples. Thomas Aquinas was the seventh son of lower

so they sent him to Monte Cassino. Monte Cassino was one of the big, great and wealthy
Benedictine monasteries. After the monastery, Thomas went to a University just founded

Thomas Aquinas gives for proof of God s Existence is the Argument from Gradations
of Perfection, or also known as Argument from The Hierarchy of beings. Among beings
there are some more and some less good, true, noble and the like, which means that
some are better or worse than others. But more and less are predicated of different
things, according as they resemble in their different ways. Now the maximum in any
genus is the cause of all in that genus; as fire, which is the maximum heat, is the cause of
all hot things. there is something which is truest, something best, something noblest and,
consequently, something which is uttermost being. This being is what we would call
God. Therefore there must also be something which is to all beings the cause of their
being, goodness, and every other perfection; and this we call God. God in the fourth way

reproductive management products was estimated at more than $3.7 billion in 2013.
This market, which includes a broad range of contraceptive drugs, contraceptive
devices/implants, and fertility drugs, is expected to expand at a healthy compound
annual growth rate of more than 7%, increasing by more than $1.5 billion over a span
of 5 years. A recent report released by Grand View research stated that healthcare
provider training has been more focused on IUDs and implants due to more young

Superficial Prejudicial Sacrificial What is beauty ? It seems that throughout centuries the
definition of beauty has changed drastically; it is constantly being redefined. Looking
back to the 1400 s through the 16th century, the ideal woman of that time was, by today s
definition, voluptuous and very full figured. Ivory skin and red lips were considered
very attractive. During the Victorian era, women strived to have a small 12 tummy; they
wore tightly laced corsets, sometimes risking their health, to achieve a cinched waist.
Women were very conservative with their makeup and preferred a very natural look. As

Marge Piercy selectively combines the two words girl and child because both are
typically symbols of innocence. Many see, and possibly even participate in, shaming
girls for being less than beautiful. Piercy pushes to make a point that although it s
common, it isn t right. Once girls reach a certain age around puberty, their perceptions
are altered and are also easily influenced. In the poem, the girlchild is persuaded that
there is something wrong with her outer appearance, so she went to and fro apologizing
(11). Not only was the girlchild brainwashed into thinking she was inadequate being
herself, but her peers were also programmed into believing that there is a standard of
universal beauty that everyone should strive to attain. Today, many young girls are
exactly like the girlchild ; they are raised from children to fit a specific criterion on how
they should look and behave. The standards may change, but they all demand that the
girlchild become someone, or something, that she

What I want to be able to do is to change the lives of people with the same materials they

eternity, kneeling with the celestial spheres of the sky weighing down heavily on his
shoulders. The Farnese Atlas is an enormous sculpture standing at seven feet tall and is
currently located at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, in Italy. Although
their actual form and matter are different, both the Atlas and The Farnese Atlas are
similar in the way that both paintings portray a male character with a serious or stern
expression, carrying a large spherical burden or load on their shoulders. Also, both
pieces seem to be copies of other pieces made before their own time. Vik Muniz s Atlas
is his own interpretation of The Farnese Atlas, and The Farnese Atlas is an interpretation

Sources of literature refer to prefabrication, off site construction, pre assembly and
modularisation concepts either respectively or collectively, (Haas et al., 2000).
Prefabrication Haas et al (2000), prefabrication normally involves a single skill or
trade, such as electrical, or piping, and this can be defined as a manufacturing process,
which generally takes place at a specialized facility, in which various materials are joined
to form a component part of a final installation (Tatum et al., 1987). Components
manufactured off site and is not a complete system can be referred to as prefabricated
components. Furthermore Jaillon Poon (2009) proceed to describe prefabrication as, a

The components of preassembly may be completed at the job site eg specialized factory,
in a remote location other than the place of final installation. Usually preassembly often
contains portions of systems, and work that is from a variety of crafts is naturally
necessary for the installation. It is considered to be a combination of prefabrication and
modularisation and may make use of fabricated components completed off site and then
assembled near the site. These units can then be installed, similar to modules (on site).
(Klerk, 2013) It is apparent that no single definition exists for these concepts but it does
however seem that these terms all adhere to a general theme, specifically: Components
manufactured in a controlled environment, either on or off site and then assembled at the
project location. (Klerk, 2013) Industrialisation this term is used to try incorporate all
three aspects of offsite construction work which is; modularization, prefabrication, and
preassembly. The industrialization process can be described as an investment in
equipment, facilities, and technology with the intention of an increase in output, a
decrease in manual labour, and improving quality of work (Warszawski 1990). The
process uses the concepts of manufacturing and applies them to construction. It also
implies the use of a fully integrated and automated project process to a certain extent.
The term industrialization was commonly used in the 1970 s to define all forms of

Keep It Liquid
Keep It Liquid
Introduction:
The objective of this lab was to witness the change in temperature of cyclohexane with
different substances added. There are certain techniques for a solid, liquid, and a gas to
have a certain phase change (Hall, 15). There are also different ways for there to be a
phase change when it involves a solid, liquid, or a gas. The process of phase change is
usually being witnessed in the different weather changes we have. When snow begins to
fall in the winter it falls as a liquid, starts to freeze from the atmosphere, then fully freezes
when it is set on the ground from the winter temperature. It then begins to melt and turn
back into a liquid as the temperature begins to heat up, then evaporates as the liquid starts
to boil and steam up. (Phase Change, 17). In this experiment, we hypothesized that our
trial three with 0.612 grams of benzoic acid would have the greatest effect on temperature
change since it held the greatest amount of mass.

In results, we see how much each trial had been effected with the different substances and
different amounts added to cyclohexane.
In an experiment similar to ours, after their data has been obtained, the enthalpy curve
is calculated to be calculated (Haun, 2017). In our experiment, the freezing point of
cyclohexane is 6.55 В°C (Solvents, 2017). With trial two and three, we calculated the
molarity and molality. For trial two, we had the molarity of 0.637160081 M and had the
molality of 8.188m, which is provided below.
In this equation shown above, our trial three our molarity ended up as 0.63716014 M and
our molality ended up being 8.18627m.

Just in Time
1.Executive Summary
This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the Just In Time system, the
advantages and disadvantages of the system and how it would benefit AG Z. The Just In
Time (JIT) system is a process where goods are ordered as required, as opposed to the
currently used batch processing system where goods are made in bulk and stored in
warehouses until sold. The Just In Time system was initially developed to not only cut
down the amount of waste produced by other systems, which was seen as incurring
unnecessary costs rather than adding value to the company, but to also meet customer
demands with minimum delays. It has been found that when implemented correctly the
JIT system can benefit the company in numerous ... Show more content on

In its simplest terms, the Kanban system is used to alert the production team exactly what
needs to be produced, the quantity required and the designated time frame (Horngren,
George Srikant 1997).
5.Expected Results
The Batch Processing System currently used at AG Z is a system where products are
produced in bulk quantities or batches whether required by the customer or not. These
goods are then stored in warehouses until required. This process produces large amounts
of waste in both inventory and warehousing as the goods are not sold immediately, and
could be required to be held for any length of time.
The Just in Time system however is a process that produces necessary products as
required. This system is highly beneficial as it reduces the amount of inventory waste,
as the goods are made to order. It also reduces warehousing costs as the goods are made
and shipped directly to the customer rather than being held for extended periods at the
warehouse.
As a result of these benefits, the JIT system has been particularly effective for companies
with a high customer demand on newly developed technologies such as computers. If the
product is produced when required and as specified by the customer, this not only allows
the customer to order exactly what they want with modern technology, but it also benefits
the manufacturer who is guaranteed a return on the goods straight

Cinderella Syndrome
I think the time has come for someone to write Cinderella: The Sequel.
How did we get here? In 1697, French writer Charles Perrault updated an age old fairy
tale about a young woman named Cinderella to appeal to his contemporaries, French
nobility and bourgeoisie. So many of the early versions of the tale boasted a very
resourceful young woman who played an active role in her destiny. Perrault, however
wrote his Cinderella as a well mannered, docile, selfless women who would fit
seamlessly with the ideal 17th century upper class society. Historically, fairy tales have
reflected the values of society in which they were written or revised mirroring its

a merger and acquisitions of the neighboring county, and he d be gone a lot on business
trips.
The stress and loneliness of long separations would lead to disagreements, but again
love would prevail. Then a child would be born to Cinderella and the Prince meaning
more stress. The child would be diagnosed with a learning disability and Cinderella and
the Prince would each wonder whether the cause might have been the other s having
parties too hard in their younger days.
Their feelings of guilt and blame would generate into quarrels. A second child would be
born. More changes and more stress. Cinderella s mother in law would sometimes
interfere and criticize their parenting. Bickering would continue and get worse.
Then Cinderella and the Handsome Prince would go to a marriage counselor. They tried

Facts In The Case Of M. Valdemar, And Pickman s Model
Darkness surfaces as a cast of its own. The difference between love and darkness is a
very thin line. At some points, a person may not realize they are teetering between one
and the other. Danger can be intertwined throughout one s journey in finding love. It
leads to darkness in varying degrees. Edgar Allen Poe s, William Wilson and The Facts
in the Case of M. Valdemar, and H.P. Lovecraft s, The Outsider and Pickman s Model
were written in the 19th and 20th centuries. During these time periods, these men may
have been considered reclusive, but are best known for their unprecedented horror fiction.
Forbidden darkness is prevalent throughout all four works. The central theme is of regret
for things that the narrators never found.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
P. Lovecraft story, The Outsider, the narrator, who was never given a name, was
mysterious in nature. He lived in a lonely castle and had no friends. He went looking
for adventure and decided to see what lied on the other side of a church (love) and a
graveyard (darkness). The narrator is yearning for human contact. A feeling of
belonging and a sense of love is what he needs to fill the void in his chest. The Outsider
is unaware of his outward appearance. He might be not only yearning for sunlight, but
also to shed some inner light on whom he is. The narrator is plagues by the memories
of his childhood. These are memories of fear and sadness. Wretched is he who looks
back upon... (Lovecraft ) He is strangely content with the thoughts of his younger
years, clinging to the memories. The narrator does not know where he was born or
who his parents were. He knows that someone took care of him, but cannot remember
more than an old worn face. Yearning for love and acceptance, he struggles with his
inner self. To me there was nothing grotesque in the bones and skeletons... This was a
description of his everyday life. Death did not scare him. Many of the transformations in
this dream story are composed of death and decay rather than uplifting and gorgeous.
Yet, the narrator would dream of the outside, lying in the fields reading books with
happy people and sunny skies. This is directly related the Outsider s identity because he

  • 2. Similarities Between The Vow And The Dybbuk In the films The Vow, directed by Henryk Szaro, and The Dybbuk, written by S. Ansky, the creators of both works describe a classic story of a promise between two fathers to wed their unborn children together. The Vow and The Dybbuk begin with this promise, but unfortunately in each film one of the fathers dies before the promise is fulfilled. Ultimately, the children find each other but are posed with troubling complications that prevent them from being together and having the promise fulfilled. Through the similar plot structures, there are evident similarities between the two films, but there are also differences among the methods that both writers used to approach the story. The creators represent these similarities and differences in The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In regards to costume, both films were similar through the representation of Polish nobility with their traditional outfit of a long robe. Because of the prominence of this traditional form of clothing, both films have an emphasis on the traditional values of society as represented through the older generation depicted in the films. However, in both films, the younger generation conflicted with this orthodox culture in that they tried to separate from the traditional values. For example, in The Vow, Jacob broke away from many of his values in his time in Vilnius through performing activities such as changing his clothing after receiving criticism from the more modern society (The Vow, 0:35:48). In The Dybbuk, Khannon also rejects similar cultural values by rejecting God and accepting Satan after not being able to wed Leah (The Dybbuk, 1:01:10). The moral conflict within these characters supports the message of intergenerational conflict between the orthodox Yiddish culture and this new arising Yiddish culture through the use of costumes and surroundings of the characters. Not only was this cultural conflict present in the film, but it was also present in the life of S. Ansky who wrote The Dybbuk. S. Ansky had resided in a town where he would provide books for the local children to read

Suspense in Steven Spielberg s Movie Jaws Essay Suspense in Steven Spielberg s Movie Jaws Steven Spielberg, the creator of Jaws, uses many different techniques to draw in the suspense of viewers and to capture their imagination. These techniques include special effects to create tension, different camera angles to show facial expressions and group shots. The classic Jaws music, known by millions of people, also helps build up tension, to let us know when the shark is approaching. He uses colours, so that we can associate signs and symbols to forthcoming events, e.g. the colour red is associated with danger. We will be using all of the above devices to help analyse different parts of the film. As soon as the film starts, from the title sequence, these techniques are ... The next scene is off the girl swimming, but there is no music playing at all, and makes the atmosphere feel eerie. You wonder what is going to happen next. Also the girl is totally naked at this time, which makes her seem very vulnerable, as there is nothing between her and the shark, except water. She is also away from the party, which makes her seem unsafe. The camera then starts to switch from the girls point of view, to the sharks point of view. The girl is totally defenceless to the shark s capabilities, but using this effect allows you to relate to both characters. Next, you see a shot of the girl kicking her legs, and the camera slowly zooms in. This shows the view from the shark s point of view, and shows the audience that the danger is getting closer, which is certainly building the tension up. The fact that we do not see the shark makes the audience feel quite uneasy, as in a way we are uncertain of what the danger is. It also builds up a lot of fear, from our point of view. There are a lot pauses in the attack, which allows you to see the unconscious boy, slumped on the beach. To me this shows us that the girl s only chance of survival is totally oblivious to the current events, and is unaware of her screams. Also when the camera switches onto the boy, it gives a chance to

Duty Of Care For Negligent Act Introduction Background to the answer: ISSUE: The area of law is Negligence and the issue is Adams (Plaintiff) injuries and his chances of success in any legal action he might take in negligence against Simon (Defendant). The question to be taken into consideration is that; Could the defendant be found to have caused the damages? Rule and Application This aspect will address Duty of care for negligent act, standard of care and causation. 1st essential DoC: Did the defendant owe a Duty of Care to Plaintiff? Historical approach from Donoghue v Stevenson (I)Reasonable foreseeability In tort law, foreseeability has been defined as the notion that a particular action viewed under particular circumstances would lead to an anticipated result. This means that there was a foreseeable injury, and a person has a chance of taking precautions and refrain from the behaviour that could likely lead to the harm (Birmingham Brennan, 2012). In saying this Simons damage to Adam was that of a foreseeable type even though he had to throw his helmet that bounced on the ground and striked Adam through frustration. In the case of The Wagon Mound No2 [1967]1AC617, The defendant s vessel, The Wagon Mound, leaked furnace oil at a Wharf in Sydney Harbour due to the failure to close a valve. Some cotton debris became embroiled in the oil and sparks from some welding works ignited the oil. The fire spread rapidly causing destruction of some boats and the wharf. Second Amendment Exceptions Making Exceptions to the Second Amendment The second amendment reads: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (United States Constitution). This amendment was made in order to keep the freedom of the people of the United States safe from a tyrannical government. This is not only inferred from but proved by the words, being necessary to the security of a free State . A camp at the university or college, a campus event, or your usual campus visit are all great ways to experience the place you re considering calling home for your college years. My mom had some great advice in this process for me which was what helped keep my somewhat levelheaded during the college decision process. Don t wait until senior year to do your visits This is a sure way to be incredibly stressed out. Amongst all the efforts to survive the year, don t put yourself in the situation of making a four hour trip one way to visit a campus. It s a huge mistake. My mom got onto me about this. She was excited for me to be preparing for this next adventure in my life, but she and I had to coordinate schedules to make four or five hour drives over the course of a day or a weekend. With two of my visits, we drove down on Saturday, spent the night, did some seeing around town (mostly involving food) on Sunday, and visited the campus on Monday in the morning so we could drive back home on Monday. Make the most of your trip to the campus, especially if it s farther away from home. Find a couple places to check out or make your study home while you re in school. 2. • 8. Social Criticism Of Abortion According to Wikipedia, abortion is the premature exit of the products of conception (the fetus, fetal membranes, and placenta) from the uterus. It is the loss of a pregnancy and does not refer to why the pregnancy was lost. Abortion is a very contentious issue and the attitude towards it has always been and is still very controversial. It has caused uncounted deaths and several violent confrontations between the supporters of the two separate parties. Pro life supporters advocate that everyone has the right to life, even Fetus, and Pro choice supporters argue that the right to abortionis absolute. Pollitt also insisted that woman should not have anyone s permission to make healthcare decisions. Contraception is one of these decisions that woman should be making with her doctor. She referred to the example of Trust Woman, a popular motto in the pro choice movement. The movement gave the absolute right and freedom for every woman in the abortion issue. It also supported women to make their own decisions, no one else can make a better decision (p.15). Women seeking to terminate a pregnancyunderstand what s going on. They don t need a patronizing reminder from politicians, or difficult rules imposed by doctors, or even ethics from church or family. They only need to trust themselves and take the right decision according to their life, health, and body. Pollitt has even gone further with defending abortion as a constitutional right. The Supreme Court has ruled on it, in 1973, in Roe v. Wadecase, which affirms the legality of a woman s right to have an abortion under the Fourteenth Amendment. Why is it then, that women who seek an abortion, are treated like criminals? Laws prohibiting abortion prevent women from making the personal choices that enable them to live the lifestyle they want, reducing their ability to contribute effectively to the society. Moreover, the ideal abortion law, according to Pollitt, is a blank piece of paper. She approaches the

Now the maximum in any genus is the cause of all in that genus; as fire, which is the maximum heat, is the cause of all hot things. there is something which is truest, something best, something noblest and, consequently, something which is uttermost being. This market, which includes a broad range of contraceptive drugs, contraceptive devices/implants, and fertility drugs, is expected to expand at a healthy compound annual growth rate of more than 7%, increasing by more than $1.5 billion over a span of 5 years. A recent report released by Grand View research stated that healthcare provider training has been more focused on IUDs and implants due to more young women requesting these types of contraceptive devises. (Grand View Research, Inc., 2015, p. 01) Grand View further stated that the North America contraceptives market accounted for the largest share of Contraceptive growth at over 30.0% in 2014 owing to, the high incidence rates of abortion, rising population of women within the age group of 15 44 years, and high patient awareness levels in the region. They forecast that the presence of an extensive product pipeline portfolio is expected to boost industry growth throughout 2020. Mirena, manufactured by Bayer, is a non seasonal, long acting intrauterine contraception device that is indicated to treat heavy menstrual bleeding and to also to prevent conception in women for up to 5 years. • 12. Girlchild Christina Piercy Analysis Professor Zednik English 102 19 October 2014 Superficial Prejudicial Sacrificial What is beauty ? It seems that throughout centuries the definition of beauty has changed drastically; it is constantly being redefined. Looking back to the 1400 s through the 16th century, the ideal woman of that time was, by today s definition, voluptuous and very full figured. Ivory skin and red lips were considered very attractive. During the Victorian era, women strived to have a small 12 tummy; they wore tightly laced corsets, sometimes risking their health, to achieve a cinched waist. Women were very conservative with their makeup and preferred a very natural look. As time progressed, the roaring 20 s brought new sexy trends. Women tried to hide their... Many see, and possibly even participate in, shaming girls for being less than beautiful. Piercy pushes to make a point that although it s common, it isn t right. Once girls reach a certain age around puberty, their perceptions are altered and are also easily influenced. In the poem, the girlchild is persuaded that there is something wrong with her outer appearance, so she went to and fro apologizing (11). Not only was the girlchild brainwashed into thinking she was inadequate being herself, but her peers were also programmed into believing that there is a standard of universal beauty that everyone should strive to attain. Today, many young girls are exactly like the girlchild ; they are raised from children to fit a specific criterion on how they should look and behave. The standards may change, but they all demand that the girlchild become someone, or something, that she

Using garbage scavenged from Gramacho, one of the largest landfills in America, Muniz models trash into images of classical portraits with his own twist. ...I m trying to step away from the realm of fine arts, I think it s a very exclusive, very restrictive place to be... What I want to be able to do is to change the lives of people with the same materials they deal with every day , Muniz stated in film Wasteland. The film Wasteland, directed by Lucy Walker, tracks the development of Muniz series of monumental photographic portraits made from trash. The Farnese Atlas is a 2nd century Roman marblereplica of a Hellenistic sculptureof Atlas, a Titan sentenced by Zeus to hold up his burden for eternity, kneeling with the celestial spheres of the sky weighing down heavily on his shoulders. The Farnese Atlas is an enormous sculpture standing at seven feet tall and is currently located at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, in Italy. Although their actual form and matter are different, both the Atlas and The Farnese Atlas are similar in the way that both paintings portray a male character with a serious or stern expression, carrying a large spherical burden or load on their shoulders. Also, both pieces seem to be copies of other pieces made before their own time. Vik Muniz s Atlas is his own interpretation of The Farnese Atlas, and The Farnese Atlas is an interpretation or copy of a Greek

Sources of literature refer to prefabrication, off site construction, pre assembly and modularisation concepts either respectively or collectively, (Haas et al., 2000). Prefabrication Haas et al (2000), prefabrication normally involves a single skill or trade, such as electrical, or piping, and this can be defined as a manufacturing process, which generally takes place at a specialized facility, in which various materials are joined to form a component part of a final installation (Tatum et al., 1987). Components manufactured off site and is not a complete system can be referred to as prefabricated components. The components of preassembly may be completed at the job site eg specialized factory, in a remote location other than the place of final installation. Usually preassembly often contains portions of systems, and work that is from a variety of crafts is naturally necessary for the installation. It is considered to be a combination of prefabrication and modularisation and may make use of fabricated components completed off site and then assembled near the site. These units can then be installed, similar to modules (on site). (Klerk, 2013) It is apparent that no single definition exists for these concepts but it does however seem that these terms all adhere to a general theme, specifically: Components manufactured in a controlled environment, either on or off site and then assembled at the project location. (Klerk, 2013) Industrialisation this term is used to try incorporate all three aspects of offsite construction work which is; modularization, prefabrication, and preassembly. The industrialization process can be described as an investment in equipment, facilities, and technology with the intention of an increase in output, a decrease in manual labour, and improving quality of work (Warszawski 1990). The process uses the concepts of manufacturing and applies them to construction. It also implies the use of a fully integrated and automated project process to a certain extent. The term industrialization was commonly used in the 1970 s to define all forms of

There are certain techniques for a solid, liquid, and a gas to have a certain phase change (Hall, 15). There are also different ways for there to be a phase change when it involves a solid, liquid, or a gas. The process of phase change is usually being witnessed in the different weather changes we have. When snow begins to fall in the winter it falls as a liquid, starts to freeze from the atmosphere, then fully freezes when it is set on the ground from the winter temperature. It then begins to melt and turn back into a liquid as the temperature begins to heat up, then evaporates as the liquid starts to boil and steam up. (Phase Change, 17). In this experiment, we hypothesized that our trial three with 0.612 grams of benzoic acid would have the greatest effect on temperature change since it held the greatest amount of mass. In results, we see how much each trial had been effected with the different substances and different amounts added to cyclohexane. In an experiment similar to ours, after their data has been obtained, the enthalpy curve is calculated to be calculated (Haun, 2017). In our experiment, the freezing point of cyclohexane is 6.55 В°C (Solvents, 2017). With trial two and three, we calculated the molarity and molality. For trial two, we had the molarity of 0.637160081 M and had the molality of 8.188m, which is provided below. In this equation shown above, our trial three our molarity ended up as 0.63716014 M and our molality ended up being 8.18627m. The Just In Time (JIT) system is a process where goods are ordered as required, as opposed to the currently used batch processing system where goods are made in bulk and stored in warehouses until sold. The Just In Time system was initially developed to not only cut down the amount of waste produced by other systems, which was seen as incurring unnecessary costs rather than adding value to the company, but to also meet customer demands with minimum delays. It has been found that when implemented correctly the JIT system can benefit the company in numerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In its simplest terms, the Kanban system is used to alert the production team exactly what needs to be produced, the quantity required and the designated time frame (Horngren, George Srikant 1997). 5.Expected Results The Batch Processing System currently used at AG Z is a system where products are produced in bulk quantities or batches whether required by the customer or not. These goods are then stored in warehouses until required. This process produces large amounts of waste in both inventory and warehousing as the goods are not sold immediately, and could be required to be held for any length of time. The Just in Time system however is a process that produces necessary products as required. This system is highly beneficial as it reduces the amount of inventory waste, as the goods are made to order. It also reduces warehousing costs as the goods are made and shipped directly to the customer rather than being held for extended periods at the warehouse. As a result of these benefits, the JIT system has been particularly effective for companies with a high customer demand on newly developed technologies such as computers. If the product is produced when required and as specified by the customer, this not only allows the customer to order exactly what they want with modern technology, but it also benefits the manufacturer who is guaranteed a return on the goods straight

In 1697, French writer Charles Perrault updated an age old fairy tale about a young woman named Cinderella to appeal to his contemporaries, French nobility and bourgeoisie. So many of the early versions of the tale boasted a very resourceful young woman who played an active role in her destiny. Perrault, however wrote his Cinderella as a well mannered, docile, selfless women who would fit seamlessly with the ideal 17th century upper class society.
