Exatest
There is now a test named Exatest . With this test, magnesium levels are not determined
through blood or blood serum. It is a noninvasive procedure that determines magnesium
levels in the soft tissue, which is where 99% of magnesium is found.
The problem with this test is the price. At this time, it s too costly for most people.
Therefore, the best remedy at this time is to be proactive by taking the recommended
daily dosage of magnesium, which we ll discuss later.
In spite of this, a deficiency in this mineral may be the basis of more diseases than any
other nutrient. Magnesium is the most critical mineral required for the electrical stability
of every single cell in our bodies. Are you beginning to grasp the importance of this

Norman Shealy, symptoms can be subtle initially. Most of the magnesium is stored in our
tissue, twitching and itching is frequently a first symptom. Additionally, nausea,
vomiting, and fatigue are symptoms that are commonly in the early stages of deficiency.
As the deficiency continues to worsen, you may notice tingling, numbness, a change in
personality, seizures, abnormal heart rhythms, coronary spasms, or increased fatigue.
Also according to Dr. Sidney Baker , a magnesium deficiency can affect skeletal muscles,
which can initiate symptoms such as neck pain, cramps, muscle tension and soreness,
backaches, and headaches.
Other indications are tightness in the chest feeling as if you are unable to take a deep
breath. Additionally, you may not be able to stop sighing. So if you re in a conversation
and the other person keeps sighing, it doesn t necessarily mean that you are boring him
or her. That person could have a magnesium deficiency.
The symptom of muscle contractions can in turn instigate problems such as menstrual
cramps, urinary spasms, or constipation. Other symptoms can occur for example, feeling
like you have a lump (my mother called it a frog) in your throat and you have difficulty
swallowing. Some other usual indicators could be sensitivity to loud noises, which is
brought on by muscle tension in your ear and difficulty adapting to approaching bright
How Did Conficius Bring Peace And Justice
Conficius grew up in a time where feudal lords where constantly fighting each other for
control because the government was weak. As a result, Conficius never forgot his
childhood misery caused by the horrendous atrocities committed by the rulers. Since his
mom work was not enough to survive for both of them, he started working at a really
young age, which provided him with the opportunity to understand the people s lives.
Instead of learning the art of fighting, Conficius read through many books seeking one
solution that would bring peace and justice to his people. Conficius main goal was to end
corruption and restore peace, but he needed a government position to implement his
policies. He believed that the differences between classes would
Persuasive Essay On Wild Horses
Wild horses are something that most people know about, at least to an extent. To
many they are the embodiment of the word freedom , they are creatures that have
been around for centuries roaming free in the mountains and wilderness, pretty much
left unchecked except by their natural predators. Gorgeous, majestic, and full of spirit
are words that can all be used to describe wild horses and pictures of them make great
desktop backgrounds and calendars that show a peaceful and wonderful view of
nature. What, then, is the issue with the wild horses and why are there arguements
over what needs to be done with them? As a brief explanation wild horses are
becoming a nuisance for everyone around them the ecosystem and humans alike.
When left unchecked, as they had been before, what happens, and why is it such a big
deal? One very big word can explain it all: Overpopulation. Eventually the
overpopulation of these beasts would cause, and already has started to cause, an
imbalance and irreversible damage in the ecosystems they roam in. Problems that
would, and do, occur would be the fact that there would not be enough food or water
for them as well as other herbivores, which, in turn, would cause omnivores and
carnivores to lack a food source once their prey starts dying out due to starvation.
Some species may even die out, plants and animals alike, if something is not done
sooner rather than later. Poor grazing management would be included into the
overpopulation category simply because the more horses there are the more grasses
and other plants they would need to eat on a daily basis. Not all of the plant depletion
was caused by the horses, however. They had a huge help from one particular species:
Humans. Humans have long since conquered many areas in the world and have taken
much of the land from the animals that occupy the area alongside them, even wiping
out whole species within a short time period. Very little space is left for creatures, like
the wild horses, to roam and graze because ranchers were allowing their cattle to graze
in the same spots as the wild animals who then had to find other sources of food and
ultimately caused the entire recourse to either be gone completely or very sparce. Now

Biography of Agustin Recha Mora
Agustin Recha Mora was born in May 1954, in Granada, Spain. He moved to Bilbao in
1967 and he is teaching as a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Bilbao since 1979.
Recha Mora has been into a lot of contests and he has won many awards. Most of his
work was for a reason, which is to show the importance of the loss. In this report, I will
be analyzing the form, content and context of one of his works which is called Street

To begin with the line, we can see that the artist used one point perspective in order to
draw this painting. Therefore, this painting is consisted mostly from lines, we can see the
lines in the center of the image that takes our eyes until the end of the road where we can
notice the buildings. Moreover, there are a lot of horizontal and vertical lines in drawing
the buildings and some of them in drawing the shops and windows of the building.
Value in this painting is used in many parts. The lower part of the painting, the artist
played with the red color and changed the value to darker to show the damage more

notice a change in value in the squares on the sidewalk from grey to beige and we can

At low temperature gasifiers a significant fraction of gas heating value is entrapped in

The Twelve Tables
The Twelve Tables and Valerio Horatian Laws were passed in 449 BC in Rome by the
plebs in the tribune assembly and the patricians in the senate, respectively. The Twelve
Tables originally sprouted from the Lex Terentilia, which was an attempt from the
plebs to define and limit consular power of the patricians. However, since the
patricians avoided it and the plebs were divided on the issue, the law was changed.
Patricians edited the law to form the Decemvirate, a group of ten that had consular
power to write laws. This group created the Twelve Tables, laws important to the
Republic, like defining property rights, but more importantly sanctified patrician power.
The broader significance of the Twelve Tables was the continuation of patrician
domination over the plebs. The reason plebs were divided on the Lex Terentilia was
because of the patricians complete monopoly of communication with the gods. The plebs
were afraid that limiting patrician power could limit them in more ways than the
patricians could. After the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Livy s example of this was a patrician named Coriolanus who was a strong opponent to
the tribune s power. When plebian tribunes came to his door and tried to put him on
trial, he cried I am not bound by you! . After these laws, patricians could no longer
defend themselves under this ideal, and directly empowered the plebian tribunes and
aediles because of it. But it was how they were ratified that is significant to the Roman
Republic. The Pontifex Maximus led a tribune meeting to ratify the very Twelve Tables
that had led to this secession. The patricains recognized the plebs will to compromise,
and in return ratified the Valerio Horatian Laws. This full circle compromise is key in
recognizing that both classes of the Roman Republic recognized the importance of the
other side, and that the so called Conflict of the Orders isn t so cut and dry as many
would think.
Archetypal Symbols In The Patriot
The Patriot is a heart breaking movie that follows the journey of Benjamin Martin, a
father of seven children (Gabriel, Thomas, Margaret, Susan, Nathan, Samuel, and
William) and an ex warrior who fought against the Great Britain army while carrying the
burden of a parent. It is filled with clash of ideals, where Benjamin s priority to save his
children from experiencing the war met with the reality that his country needed him to
act.
The story began with Benjamin s return to his hometown. The member of the family
were introduced one by one. It was also revealed that the situation between the
Continental army and the Great Britain government is getting more complicated each

He is a smart person. Benjamin Martin even considered him as genius. If not for his
taking the Continental army lightly, Benjamin may not have been able to lead the
Continental army to victory. He has the trait of the mad scientist.
And for the woman, we can categorized Charlotte Selton as the tomboy who has the
appearance of the madonna. She is reliable, as can be seen from her taking care of
Benjamin s children during the war.
With a lot of character, there are quite a number of conflicts happened inside the movie.
The first kind is the man against himself conflict. This kind of conflict can be seen from
the argument between Benjamin and Gabriel that resulted in Benjamin questioning his
own resolves. Benjamin also had the same kind of conflict when he was devastated by
the death of Gabriel.
The second kind is the man against man conflict. Benjamin was having this kind of
conflict with Gabriel and also Tavington. He was having an argument about the humanity
in the battlefield with the former (when Gabriel s group found out about the innocents
killing that Benjamin s group did). Benjamin also fought against Tavington because the

Summary Of The Mirror By Virginia Woolf
The way one person perceives the world is not always the way another perceives, just
as a reflection shows a person but reflected backwards. The mirror does not create
falsehood; it instead shows the views of every side. Every person is going to see
something different when looking into the mirror depending on where they stand. When
Virginia Woolfwrites she tells the world of an idea everybody can relate to. She writes
on women and men and shows how they related through the mirror. Sometimes to
empower and others to educate those that don t have that view point or understand.
She writes both the common and uncommon views and shows how they both stand
together in one mirror. Two text which reflect two Ideas through the mirror to show
the world are Professions for Women and Thoughts on Peace in an Air Raid. Ladies
are well represented in Virginia Woolf s stories such as Professions for Women and
Thoughts on Peace in an Air Raid. Both of these Texts reflect the standard for women at
this time. In Professions for women Virginia Woolf tells of her story of being a women;
showing her views of the world through reflectionof her life. Virginia Woolf starts by
creating powerful small ideas when she writes, it is true, I am a women; it is true I am
employed, but what professional experiences have I had? Using her short chops of
information she has simplified herself so that more people can see her in their mirror.
This is great because it simplifies Woolf making her more common,
Self Reflection Essay
On Sunday, December 3, 2017, I delivered my first oral presentation on Janette, a peer
in my Communicating Effectively course at Manhattanville College. The objective of
the project was to familiarize yourself with a classmate, ask/answer questions provided
by Professor Brosnan, and then share the knowledge you gained about the individual
in a two minute presentation. The presentation was required to introduce the
classmate, what graduate program they are pursuing, why he/she is in the program,
their long term career goal(s), current occupation, favorite class, and an interesting fun
fact. The oral presentations were done in the classroom without any visual aid,
allowing you to use notes if preferred. By analyzing my 1 minute and 25 second
presentation using the 7 Step Presentation Process I uncovered my strengths and
weaknesses as a presenter. As a student, I never paid much attention to my presentation
skills and was never required to take a class that made me assess them. I never
considered myself a fearful presenter or one that is petrified of speaking in front of an
audience. I always measured my fear as average, like the usual presentation jitters that
everyone gets. This presentation revealed to me that every presentation is relative to
the audience, objectives, topic, and implementation. This self reflection is the first
time I have every truly assessed my skills and I think that is a fear in itself. After every
presentation throughout my college career I rarely took the time to evaluate myself
and make self improvements. In 7 Steps to Fearless Speaking , Lilyan Wilder
discusses the 5 fears of public speaking one of them being avoidance (Wilder 15).
Although Wilder is referring to the avoidance of preparing for your speech, it is
evident my fear is avoiding self evaluation. I have avoided my fears as a public speaker
by just categorizing them as normal . My presentation strengths consisted of both verbal
and non verbal skills. While listening the recording of my presentation without any
visual, I could hear my animated voice tone. When speaking about exciting parts of
Janette s life such as her dream to move into Finance and her current occupation at Pepsi
my tone changed. This voice

water. High waves keep crashing against our raft, keeping us constantly wet. On the
bank of the river, rocks as tall as a small sky scraper tower over us. There are eight of us
in the raft, split up evenly along the sides of it. Our guide sits in the very back with his
single paddle, maneuvering the boat and watching out for hazards ahead. The raft we
are in is fairly old, but is still reliable. Gray patches are covering holes that were probably
caused by hitting a rock at a wrong angle. The boat is very sturdy and thick, but is
extremely flexible in order to allow us to easily pass over the different rapids. The
boat maneuvers perfectly as if it were an amusement park ride on a set track. The
middle of the boat holds a box that contains various items such as extra gear and a first
aid kit in case of an emergency. The ride is rough and the boat is almost always jerking

Essay Buried Child
It s amazing what a secret can do to a person. Keeping secrets among friends can be fun,
or helpful when you need to confide in someone you trust. Other secrets can do more
harm than good. They can fester inside you and cause endless pain. In amp;quot;Buried
Child, amp;quot; this is the case. The family is permanently altered by their secret, which
becomes a growing moral cancer to them, leaving each impotent in their own way.
The play takes place on Dodge s farm. About thirty years ago, the farm was fertile and
prosperous. Dodge and Halie didn t have a wonderful marriage, however. Things took a

There is a major difference in the effect this impotence has on Bradley and Tilden. While
Bradley denies the truth, telling Tilden he doesn t know, he wasn t born yet, Tilden is
on an active search for the body of this child. Bradley wants the secret to remain a

The land represents the soul, and is fertile for Tilden because in his way he is seeking

corn husks, but leaves his head uncovered, he is covering him with something good that
the land, or in this case his maimed soul, has produced. He is trying to help Dodge to
realize that the truth must be told. Bradley comes into the room and throws the husks
off, shaves Dodge s head and cuts him while he is helpless, like a punishment for the
secret. Then he covers him up, head and all, with the
The Possibilities, Conventions and Devices of the Comic...
Henning Wagenbreth is a German illustrator, designer and typographer. He has
illustrated many books (for both children and adults), posters, newspaper and
magazine editorials and comic strips (Wagenbreth 2014: ONLINE). For the purpose of
this analyzing a narrative text, I have chosen his comic strip series called Plastic Dog . I
will specifically focus on the two comics shown as Figure 1 and Figure 2.
In general, the essay will be a deconstructive analysis of the possibilities, conventions
and devices of the comic strip as a narrative text. Within this analysis, the essay will
examine the postmodern characteristics of Plastic Dog . It will also investigate how these
characteristics can help the reader to better understand the narrative possibilities of the
comic form and the meaning making strategies within it.
According to Mieke Bal (1985: 5) a narrative text is a text that tells some kind of story
(Bal 1985: 5). A story is a series of logically and chronically related events that are
caused or experienced by actors (known as the fabula)(Bal 1985: 5) and are presented
in a certain manner. The question that will guide this essay is whether the comic form is
only primarily geared towards the telling of a story opposed to an experience in which
narrative is secondary to the visuals.
The Plastic Dog comics epitomize a postmodern point of view. This means that they
disrupt the boundaries between high and low art and are written and illustrated through
pastiche and
The Training Of An Army Basic Training Failure
Growing up the daughter of an Army Basic Training failure was an embarrassment for
quite some time. My father went to Basic Training straight out of high school, came
back shortly after leaving. He was discharged for injuries of his knees; he was weak.
One would not assume a child of someone who failed Basic Training would be eager to
go, however, I knew it was my time when I received a call from a recruiter asking me
to come in. It was my chance to show my dad who I am without him, as well as fight
for my country. I conquered Basic Training the summer in between the end of my
junior, and the start of my senior year, at the age of seventeen. Even with the extra
motivation, Basic Training was no easy task. There are four steps to Basic Training:
two flights, reception, training, and graduation. May 31st, the day my family and I had
been waiting for, ship day. I woke up at 3:30 a.m. to fly to Missouri. I left with two other
people: Boone and Hiple. Boone was 18, he had graduated from high schooltwo weeks
prior to shipping out for Basic Training. He would go straight through Basic and onto
Advanced Individual Training (AIT); while both Hiple and I will go through Basic.
Then next year, to continue our journey in the U.S. Army, the two of us, accompanied
by others, will leave for AIT. That morning a recruiter dropped us off at the airport, our
families came back with us through security and waited with us for our flight. I was of
course stopped through security,
Obesity In America
Eating too much junk food is a problem for many Americans. Currently, 9.3 percent are
diabetic, while 35.7 percent of Americans are obese ( Statistics About Diabetes ) (
Overweight and Obesity Statistics ). Even more Americans could become diabetic in
the future because obesity is known to cause it. If Americans keep getting heavier at
the current rate, 42% of the population will be obese by 2030, according to Alexandra
Sifferlin, in a TIME article. The government should raise taxes on candy and other fatty
snacks to help decrease obesity and the number of diabetic people. Decreasing these two
health problems would lessen the amount of money needed for health insurance. In
addition, willpower is an issue for many people and if a bag of potato... Show more

This would lead to cheaper health insurance premiums! Additionally, decreasing health
cost premiums would allow all people to have health coverage. This will cutback on
the urgency to find an antidote for obesity and diabetes. As a result, a large sum of
money could be saved when it came to researching cures. A cure for these diseases
would be awesome, but less people being affected by it would be even better! By
decreasing the amount of obese and diabetic people, health insurance would be more
affordable. If 100 percent of the population were obese (which is not true, this is just an
example) then the insurance companies would be forced to demand more money in
premiums and pay more money to care for those individuals. They use this extra money
to cover the costs of all doctors visits, medications, blood tests, and any other additional
medical problems you may have in the future. For example, obesity can cause high
cholesterol, high blood pressure, gout, breathing problems, some cancers, and even
diabetes. Lastly, and most importantly, those companies want and need to make a

attachment and cognitive theory. The session will begin with an intake and assessment
where the therapist will gain insight on who the client is and what their situation is

approach where the therapist will tie in the intake and assessment with the Adult

asking Andrew to describe his childhood relationships to his parents with examples of
significant events (Textbook). The questions are geared toward possible experiences of
rejection, being hurt, upset or any other experiences that may had a negative impact on
Andrew (Textbook). By doing this, it will help Andrew understand how his relationship
with his parents as a child might help explain his difficulty with expressing emotions.
From gaining this understanding, it can help him move forward and start thinking about
how he start to form more positive attachments. Before the end of the first session, the

Reflective Essay About Music
Music is something that the majority of people don t regard as crucial. However there is
me, I care about music, moreover, I also pity for people. Feeling unwanted is something
that is unfortunately mutual among teens. Everyone may not prefer the same sort of
music I enjoy and I may dislike what others appreciate. It s totally alright, nonetheless,
people feel it s acceptable to criticize others merely because of their musicchoice. It is
uncalled for, consequently, I believe that everyone should include people and let them
feel wanted.
Getting picked on is inevitable, however, it may be for the smallest reasons. I was
introduced to a band Panic! At The Disco , and I ve heard about them before, and it
was not positive. Enjoying the music they made was seen as a sin, and the people
who did enjoy it were seen as outcasts. It s surprising to observe how peers just assume
someone s entire character solely of their music taste. I came face to face with these
people numerous times. The conversation would start off with how much I enjoy their
music. One can simply choose to dismiss what I say or add to the discussion and say
how much they enjoy other s music. Instead, one decides to strike against my opinion
and note that I shouldn t listen to Panic! At The Disco because the people that do are
looked down upon. After constantly hearing this and feeling that I was a burden,
speaking out was a necessity. I addressed the issue at hand and made sure everyone knew
that this was not
How Did Thomas More Contribute To Society
A man considered the most famous in England must be famous for a something, and
Thomas More had a very important reason. Thomas More was a writer, lawyer, and
History changer. More was famous for his book, Utopia which became famous in all of
Europe. Thomas More was an important figure in the renaissance, and helped contribute
to create our society today.
Early on, More was already born under an attorney, which started his journey to law
school. Even while studying law, he made certain to divide time for work, and prayer.
More went to Oxford University, he wrote comedies and studied Latin there. The
Archbishop of Canterbury (Morton) believed More would become a great man. While
studying law, More decided he would dedicate himself to religion and become a monk.
After becoming a monk, he realized that his nation needed him, and so Thomas More

Thomas More inspired many later important renesansie figures to change what they
changed, to preach what they preached. More s different beliefs sparked a fire within
others, which with along other embers, started the beautiful fire known as the
renesansie. More begun by changing local beliefs, and grew to further beliefs when he
became a member of parliament, and when he wrote his book (Utopia), which
expressed these unheard beliefs that made sense to many, and changed the way many
thought. More was important because of his ability to share, he spread his ideas
throughout his time, and even after. More was also sadly a victim of King Henry VIII
s terrible rule, which caused the early end of More, which made others go against King
Henry and his despicable ways. More changed history for the better and helped start the

Oeltamivir Research Papers
Influenza remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality, and incurs substantial
economic costs due to hospitalization particularly for the elderly aged 65 years or more,
and among those with high risk medical conditions. Albeit influenza vaccination is
considered the most effective control measure for both healthy populations and the
chronically ill, it is less effective in the elderly and immunocompromised patients. Thus
effective drugs for influenza are still necessary, and neuraminidase inhibitors represent
the mainstay of anti influenza treatment today. Oseltamivir, the most famous
neuraminidase inhibitor, has become a drug of public health importance since it was
included in influenza pandemic management plans. Many systematic reviews and meta
analyses of oseltamivir efficacy in treatment and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The bioavailability of the carboxylate is estimated to be approximately 80%, and the
time to maximum plasma concentration of the carboxylate is between 2.5 and 5
hours. The volume of distribution of oseltamivir carboxylate is heavily influenced by
its polar physicochemical characteristics and lies between 23 and 26 liters, with
approximately 3% of the drug bound to plasma proteins. Concentrations in the lung
have been reported as high as five times higher than corresponding plasma levels, and
the drug is also well distributed to the nasal mucosa and the tissues of the middle ear.
Oseltamivir shows dose linear kinetics, with an elimination half life of approximately
7.7 hours in healthy individuals. Oseltamivir carboxylate is eliminated primarily by
kidney via glomerular filtration and tubular secretion, with an average half life of 6 10
hours. Both clearance and tissue distribution are reduced by probenecid. Less than 20%
of an oral dose of oseltamivir is eliminated in the
The Adopt-A-Rock Project
THE GAME OF STONES: KYANITE QUARTZITE
ABSTRACT
The main objective of this Adopt A Rock project is to analyze and categorize thin
section #86 as well as educate the reader about kyanite quartzite and its role on Earth. To
identify the #86 thin section: First, using individual mineral characteristics and
descriptions under a petrologic microscope, followed by hand sample diagnostics.
Metamorphic rocks are significant pieces in the Earth s geochronology. As they develop
from the transformation of existing rock types, in a process called metamorphism, which
means, change in form . Metamorphic rocks are important since they make up a large
part of the Earth s crust. Among these rocks is kyanite quartzite. A perfect example of a

A popular country that contains kyanite quartzites is Norway (MГјller, et al, 2007).
Norwegian kyanite quartzite occurrences as potential deposits of high purity quartz raw
material (MГјller, et al, 2007). Kyanite quartzites are rare fine grained quartzites with
70% to 85% mode of quartz and less than 15% mode kyanite (Al2SiO5) which occur in
Proterozoic supracrustal rock units (MГјller, et al, 2007). Kyanite quartzites appear in
four less populated cities in Norway: SolГёr, Surnadalen, Nasafjellet and Skjome
(MГјller, et al, 2007). Kyanite Quartzite can also be found in the Southeastern part of the
United States. The largest kyanite mine on Earth is hosted at Willis Mountain in the
Piedmont Province of Virginia, and several smaller bodies occur through this region
(Owens and Pasek, 2009). Kyanite quartz deposits are the biggest and most plentiful of
the group of high alumina quartzose deposits in the Southeast (Espenshade and Potter,
1960). The primary kyanite deposits in the Farmville district are the deposits of kyanite
quartzite at Willis Mountain and Woods Mountain in Buckingham County, at Leigh and
Baker Mountains in Prince Edward County (Espenshade and Potter, 1960).
As well as being an exquisite metamorphic rock, Kyanite Quartzites do have a particular
economic value to the world also (MГјller, et al, 2007). Low concentrations of trace
elements in quartz, quartz is almost free of fluid inclusions, size and exposure of

It is a noninvasive procedure that determines magnesium levels in the soft tissue, which is where 99% of magnesium is found. The problem with this test is the price. At this time, it s too costly for most people. Therefore, the best remedy at this time is to be proactive by taking the recommended daily dosage of magnesium, which we ll discuss later. In spite of this, a deficiency in this mineral may be the basis of more diseases than any other nutrient. Magnesium is the most critical mineral required for the electrical stability of every single cell in our bodies. Are you beginning to grasp the importance of this mineral? One ... Additionally, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue are symptoms that are commonly in the early stages of deficiency. As the deficiency continues to worsen, you may notice tingling, numbness, a change in personality, seizures, abnormal heart rhythms, coronary spasms, or increased fatigue. Also according to Dr. Sidney Baker , a magnesium deficiency can affect skeletal muscles, which can initiate symptoms such as neck pain, cramps, muscle tension and soreness, backaches, and headaches. Other indications are tightness in the chest feeling as if you are unable to take a deep breath. Additionally, you may not be able to stop sighing. So if you re in a conversation and the other person keeps sighing, it doesn t necessarily mean that you are boring him or her. That person could have a magnesium deficiency. The symptom of muscle contractions can in turn instigate problems such as menstrual cramps, urinary spasms, or constipation. Other symptoms can occur for example, feeling like you have a lump (my mother called it a frog) in your throat and you have difficulty swallowing. Some other usual indicators could be sensitivity to loud noises, which is brought on by muscle tension in your ear and difficulty adapting to approaching bright
  • 3. How Did Conficius Bring Peace And Justice Conficius grew up in a time where feudal lords where constantly fighting each other for control because the government was weak. As a result, Conficius never forgot his childhood misery caused by the horrendous atrocities committed by the rulers. Since his mom work was not enough to survive for both of them, he started working at a really young age, which provided him with the opportunity to understand the people s lives. Instead of learning the art of fighting, Conficius read through many books seeking one solution that would bring peace and justice to his people. Conficius main goal was to end corruption and restore peace, but he needed a government position to implement his policies. He believed that the differences between classes would

To many they are the embodiment of the word freedom , they are creatures that have been around for centuries roaming free in the mountains and wilderness, pretty much left unchecked except by their natural predators. Gorgeous, majestic, and full of spirit are words that can all be used to describe wild horses and pictures of them make great desktop backgrounds and calendars that show a peaceful and wonderful view of nature. What, then, is the issue with the wild horses and why are there arguements over what needs to be done with them? As a brief explanation wild horses are becoming a nuisance for everyone around them the ecosystem and humans alike. When left unchecked, as they had been before, what happens, and why is it such a big deal? One very big word can explain it all: Overpopulation. Eventually the overpopulation of these beasts would cause, and already has started to cause, an imbalance and irreversible damage in the ecosystems they roam in. Problems that would, and do, occur would be the fact that there would not be enough food or water for them as well as other herbivores, which, in turn, would cause omnivores and carnivores to lack a food source once their prey starts dying out due to starvation. Some species may even die out, plants and animals alike, if something is not done sooner rather than later. Poor grazing management would be included into the overpopulation category simply because the more horses there are the more grasses and other plants they would need to eat on a daily basis. Not all of the plant depletion was caused by the horses, however. They had a huge help from one particular species: Humans. Humans have long since conquered many areas in the world and have taken much of the land from the animals that occupy the area alongside them, even wiping out whole species within a short time period. Very little space is left for creatures, like the wild horses, to roam and graze because ranchers were allowing their cattle to graze in the same spots as the wild animals who then had to find other sources of food and ultimately caused the entire recourse to either be gone completely or very sparce. Now the horses

  • 8. The Twelve Tables The Twelve Tables and Valerio Horatian Laws were passed in 449 BC in Rome by the plebs in the tribune assembly and the patricians in the senate, respectively. The Twelve Tables originally sprouted from the Lex Terentilia, which was an attempt from the plebs to define and limit consular power of the patricians. However, since the patricians avoided it and the plebs were divided on the issue, the law was changed. Patricians edited the law to form the Decemvirate, a group of ten that had consular power to write laws. This group created the Twelve Tables, laws important to the Republic, like defining property rights, but more importantly sanctified patrician power. The broader significance of the Twelve Tables was the continuation of patrician domination over the plebs. The reason plebs were divided on the Lex Terentilia was because of the patricians complete monopoly of communication with the gods. The plebs were afraid that limiting patrician power could limit them in more ways than the patricians could. After the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Livy s example of this was a patrician named Coriolanus who was a strong opponent to the tribune s power. When plebian tribunes came to his door and tried to put him on trial, he cried I am not bound by you! . After these laws, patricians could no longer defend themselves under this ideal, and directly empowered the plebian tribunes and aediles because of it. But it was how they were ratified that is significant to the Roman Republic. The Pontifex Maximus led a tribune meeting to ratify the very Twelve Tables that had led to this secession. The patricains recognized the plebs will to compromise, and in return ratified the Valerio Horatian Laws. This full circle compromise is key in recognizing that both classes of the Roman Republic recognized the importance of the other side, and that the so called Conflict of the Orders isn t so cut and dry as many would think.

The mirror does not create falsehood; it instead shows the views of every side. Every person is going to see something different when looking into the mirror depending on where they stand. When Virginia Woolfwrites she tells the world of an idea everybody can relate to. She writes on women and men and shows how they related through the mirror. Sometimes to empower and others to educate those that don t have that view point or understand. She writes both the common and uncommon views and shows how they both stand together in one mirror. Two text which reflect two Ideas through the mirror to show the world are Professions for Women and Thoughts on Peace in an Air Raid. Ladies are well represented in Virginia Woolf s stories such as Professions for Women and Thoughts on Peace in an Air Raid. Both of these Texts reflect the standard for women at this time. In Professions for women Virginia Woolf tells of her story of being a women; showing her views of the world through reflectionof her life. Virginia Woolf starts by creating powerful small ideas when she writes, it is true, I am a women; it is true I am employed, but what professional experiences have I had? Using her short chops of information she has simplified herself so that more people can see her in their mirror. This is great because it simplifies Woolf making her more common,
  • 11. Self Reflection Essay On Sunday, December 3, 2017, I delivered my first oral presentation on Janette, a peer in my Communicating Effectively course at Manhattanville College. The objective of the project was to familiarize yourself with a classmate, ask/answer questions provided by Professor Brosnan, and then share the knowledge you gained about the individual in a two minute presentation. The presentation was required to introduce the classmate, what graduate program they are pursuing, why he/she is in the program, their long term career goal(s), current occupation, favorite class, and an interesting fun fact. The oral presentations were done in the classroom without any visual aid, allowing you to use notes if preferred. By analyzing my 1 minute and 25 second presentation using the 7 Step Presentation Process I uncovered my strengths and weaknesses as a presenter. As a student, I never paid much attention to my presentation skills and was never required to take a class that made me assess them. I never considered myself a fearful presenter or one that is petrified of speaking in front of an audience. I always measured my fear as average, like the usual presentation jitters that everyone gets. This presentation revealed to me that every presentation is relative to the audience, objectives, topic, and implementation. This self reflection is the first time I have every truly assessed my skills and I think that is a fear in itself. After every presentation throughout my college career I rarely took the time to evaluate myself and make self improvements. In 7 Steps to Fearless Speaking , Lilyan Wilder discusses the 5 fears of public speaking one of them being avoidance (Wilder 15). Although Wilder is referring to the avoidance of preparing for your speech, it is evident my fear is avoiding self evaluation. I have avoided my fears as a public speaker by just categorizing them as normal . My presentation strengths consisted of both verbal and non verbal skills. While listening the recording of my presentation without any visual, I could hear my animated voice tone. When speaking about exciting parts of Janette s life such as her dream to move into Finance and her current occupation at Pepsi my tone changed. This voice

He has illustrated many books (for both children and adults), posters, newspaper and magazine editorials and comic strips (Wagenbreth 2014: ONLINE). For the purpose of this analyzing a narrative text, I have chosen his comic strip series called Plastic Dog . I will specifically focus on the two comics shown as Figure 1 and Figure 2. In general, the essay will be a deconstructive analysis of the possibilities, conventions and devices of the comic strip as a narrative text. Within this analysis, the essay will examine the postmodern characteristics of Plastic Dog . It will also investigate how these characteristics can help the reader to better understand the narrative possibilities of the comic form and the meaning making strategies within it. According to Mieke Bal (1985: 5) a narrative text is a text that tells some kind of story (Bal 1985: 5). A story is a series of logically and chronically related events that are caused or experienced by actors (known as the fabula)(Bal 1985: 5) and are presented in a certain manner. The question that will guide this essay is whether the comic form is only primarily geared towards the telling of a story opposed to an experience in which narrative is secondary to the visuals. The Plastic Dog comics epitomize a postmodern point of view. This means that they disrupt the boundaries between high and low art and are written and illustrated through pastiche and
