2. The Importance Of Fostering Independence In The Small
Child
I answered a question once on a forum where someone asked about fostering
independence in their small child. I told some variation of the following story (probably
with less colorful descriptions):
When my oldest son was about 17 months old, he decided to start putting his dishes in
the sink after he finished eating, just like his mom did. Mom that would be me.
Well, my father essentially did nothing he deemed women s work and my husband was
also terrible about not picking up after himself. So since my small child was male and
lots of males in the immediate family behaved an awful lot like cavemen, I in no way
wished to discourage this behavior. I was concerned that any discouragement would
cause him to conclude that males ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem is this denies them the chance to exercise their brain. It also teaches them
that initiative is a bad thing, and they should only do as they are told. The result is that
many children arrive at the age of 18 having had precious little opportunity to practice
decision making or exercising their own initiative.
I had my eye on the long game. This small child s body was changing rapidly. One of the
metrics that was changing most rapidly was his height.
But even after his body changed and he grew taller, he would have the same mind and
he would remember what he had been taught when he was smaller. It is similar to the
principle that you shouldn t let a puppy jump on the couch if you don t want the dog
jumping on the couch after they are full grown. It may be cute when they are a small
puppy, but a large dog that weighs 100+ pounds jumping up on your lap can actually hurt
you. It isn t simply that it stops being cute. It becomes downright dangerous.
Forcing kids to engage in responsible adult behaviors like putting away their dishes, but
doing it by making them your little push button automaton is totally the wrong answer.
Get out of their way. Let them explore and play, decide and do as they see fit.
I am quite fond of the quote That government is best which governs least. I think it
applies equally to parenting. I mostly interceded enough to stop them from hurting
3. The Violence, The Religious And Violence Essay
1 This world that we are currently living in is very insecure. The violence, the
religious background, the memories, the enemies, the overcoming; our different
circumstance of life s meaning, and how we deal with it. The really insecure part of it
all is that literally anything can happen. Any moment, any blink of an eye, any second,
in fact any millimetre of a second. Meanwhile, any measurement of time that anything
event could happen, it matters how we choose to do action that identifies who we are,
of the impact. Anything can happen. Sometimes these things happen eventually, and
we as humans become really frustrated, and angry. Why? Because we do not
understand. We do not know why. We do not know the purpose. Or did not deserve it
at all. These are the common situations of how we deal with the outcome. Most people
know the appropriate way to handle these situations such as having enough hope, faith,
and eventually moves on. Other times, we do know the appropriate way, yet we take it
further to the opposition of taking revenge and prey on people harmfully such as
abducting, kidnapping, raping, persecute, etc. Sometimes, these events occur based on
the obsession of technology; antisocial. They think it is so unfair to them, and wants to
see it recur again to someone as a way of joy to them; In order for them to finally feel
the fairness. Which of course is unacceptable, therefore is not fair at all. And who came
up with all that revenge situations anyways because like

Astronomers are the type of scientists who study the physics of the universe beyond
Earth. Galileo Galilei is a famous astronomer and is often known as the father of modern
astronomy. He created the first telescope with 30x magnification. Nicolaus Copernicus
was a famous Polish astronomer who established the concept that the Sun, rather than the
Earth, is the center of the solar system and is Earth s main source of light. His discovery
lead to the concept that the Earth and other planets rotate around the Sun. Therefore,
because of his discovery, he changed the way people viewed our solar system.

6. The Causes Of Prison Incarceration In The United States
The U.S. incarcerates 716 people for every 100,000 residents, more than any other
country. In fact, our rate of incarceration is more than five times higher than most of the
countries in the world, resulting in the United States of American having incarceration
rate far higher than any other country. The total number of prisoners held under the
jurisdiction of state and federal correctional authorities on December 31, 2015
(1,526,800) decreased by 35,500 (down more than 2%) from the previous year.
Researchers have studied different trends and causes of prisonovercrowding; one that s
prevalent is racial disparities towards minorities. Though African Americans and
Hispanics make up approximately 32% of the US population, they comprised 56% of
all incarcerated people in 2015. African Americans and whites use drugs at similar
rates, but the imprisonment rate of African Americans for drug charges is almost 6
times that of whites. Prison overcrowding is caused by several different of issues, such
as enough dorm room in prisons, crime rates changing rapidly, amendments to laws and
new improvements to law enforcement tactics. Overcrowding in prisons causes many
problems, which is why it is a serious concern in the U.S. Once the causes of crowding
have been established, researchers can begin to address the problems it causes and deal
with them. According to Vera.org/priceofprisons, The United States
spends over $80
billion on incarceration each year. Being a Florida native, my

Deductive Reasoning: Deductive reasoning is regularly needed for officers when they
are completing various job duties. This reasoning comes from being able to look at
provided facts and data, and drawing a reasonable conclusion. Constables should be
able to see how the facts connect to each other, and should be able to look beyond the
basics to find a deeper meaning. The PATI uses travel time and syllogism questions to
measure the candidate s deductive reasoning ability. How to Prepare: Start by
becoming a skilled observer. This will enable you to sharpen your segmenting skills,
which you ll need to be able to break down facts and information into related
components, and piece them together. Inductive Reasoning: Inductive reasoning is
looking at a wide variety of facts to find commonalities that will allow constables to
come to their own conclusion based on other pieces of information they know to be true.

Menurut bahasa, kata gender diartikan sebagai the grouping of words into masculine,
feminine, and neuter, according as they are regarded as male, female or without sex yang
perempuan. Penguatan definisi tersebut diperoleh lagi dari Encyclopedia of Sociology,

10. Acid Base Balance Case Study
Maintenance of acid and based balance in the body is essential for normal function of
biological processes, mainly because of the dependence of pH level for enzyme
function. The body concentration of acids and bases is controlled so that the pH of
extracellular body fluids is maintained within the range of 7.35 to 7.45. The body
maintain this balance by a mechanism that generate buffer and eliminate acids and bases.
A baseis an ion or molecule that can accept or combine with a hydrogen ion and an acidis
a molecule that can release a hydrogen. (Grossman, Port, 2014). Acids and bases exist as
a buffer system. For example, a mixture of a weak acid can reversibly become base or a
mixture of a weak base can reversibly become acid. There are two type of acid base
imbalance; metabolic and respiratory.
Metabolic imbalance is a disorder that produce an alteration in the plasma bicarbonate
concentration from the addition to or the loss from the extracellular fluid of
nonvolatile acid or alkali. A reduction in pH because of a decrease in bicarbonate is
called metabolic alkalosis. Respiratory imbalance involves an alteration in partial
pressure of carbon dioxide due to an increase or decrease in alveolar ventilation.
Respiratory acidosis is the result of a decrease in pH, ... Show more content on

14. Essay on It s Time to Abolish Religion
Can a society exist emancipated from religion? Will its foundations decay due to the
absence of it, or will it flourish and achieve a new stratum of knowledge which will
result in a peaceful co existence? The word religion has its roots in the Latin word
religare which means to bind together, or to connect; on the contrary I argue religionhas
been an apparatus of division, rather than achieving collectivism, thus doing much more
harm than good. History represents the bloody warfare instigated and propagated in the
name of religion; it is the antithesis of peace and unity. Religion has imposed limitations
upon development of knowledge; therefore hampering the growth of humanfaculties, and
narrowing the realm of free thinking men. Time... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Individuals need to learn to recognize one another as members of only one family, and
stop applying the filters of culture, or religion to divide one another.
Karl Marx quoted religion is the opiate of masses. He believed the bourgeoisie class
used religion as a means to control and oppress the proletariat class; however, the
governing system may have evolved in the past years, the theory is still applicable to
majority of societies today. Individuals who occupy powerful positions within society
often resort to using religion as means to subjugate and oppress the people belonging to
minority groups; the most transparent example is the birth of caste system within the
religious dogmas of Hinduism which is demonizing the Indian society still today.
Implementation of religion in social and political institutions is a method powerful
people use to legitimize their oppression, which creates further havoc upon the society;
because it is no longer administered by a neutral governing body, consequently it is
serving the interests of few powerful individuals, meanwhile ignoring the rest of the
populace. The unbalance created by religion continually disturbs all facets of society, be
it political, or social sphere; the result is ongoing tension among the inhabitants
eventually leading to revolutionary mindset. The separation of religion and state is an
integral element in securing a society in which all are treated equally under the law,
15. The Role Of External Auditors On Public Financial Statements
External auditors play important roles in delivering credibility of public financial
statements to stakeholders outside of the audited firms (The Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Australia, 2008). Published financial statements can be used by
stakeholders as a basis for evaluating the financial position of firms, analyzing the
performance of management, or making investment decisions (International Organization
of Securities Commissions, 2002). Published financial statements will also be used by
institutions such as rating agencies to decide the worthiness of the firms, and by banks,
to decide the amount of loans that banks are willing to lend to (International Organization
of Securities Commissions, 2002). Thus, the public is significantly influenced by the
examined financial statements by external auditors (International Organization of
Securities Commissions, 2002). For management, they need to make estimates and
judgments to write financial statements, such as choosing among alternative accounting
principles by considering the existing and potential clients base of the firm; Whilst, the
auditors are responsible of examining statements made by management and to express
opinion on them (The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, 2008). Auditors
will collect evidence to ensure reasonable assurance that the disclosures and detailed
numbers in the statements are free of material misstatements (Francis and Krishnan,
1999). In addition, auditors also
16. Legal Services And Legal Service
Commoditisation is defined as removing the uniqueness from a service, rendering it
generic. Legal services, in this context, comprises of different entities giving legal
advice to the public. The commoditisation of legal services describes how there has
been a recent rise in the number of legal services and legal fees are starting to become
the only difference between them . A commercial approach is applying the law in a
business sense. Therefore, I will be discussing the controversy regarding whether the
price based competition in the legal sector will make legal services a commodity in the
future and if taking a commercial approach whilst giving legal advice will increase or
reduce its quality.
The preconception that access to legal services is expensive may stop areas of society
from using them. The recent legal aid cuts, which stood at 8.75% in 2015, could lead to
the assumption that receiving legal advice is too costly and potential consumers may
not subsequently use the legal services in any form. Also, as it is becoming normal for
legal disputes to be settled outside of court, acknowledging the high cost of legal fees
due to its link with commerciality, potential consumers may look for cheaper
alternatives to using legal services and they may seek to avoid paying what they feel
might be extortionate fees for legal advice which may not reach their expected standard.
The belief that legal services are not accessible and the lack of faith in its effectiveness
may reduce

20. Frankenstein As An Experimental Error
Frankenstein was the type of mad scientist who would isolate himself in a laboratory,
secretly creating another human life, only to discover he created a monster (Haynes,
2006). The Frankenstein story was a product of the subconscious rather than the
conscious mind of its own author (Haynes, 2006). The monster replied to the beauties
of nature, to the joys of domesticity and ideas of excellent novels (Haynes, 2006). The
monster had both an alter ego and even denied that he had a child while married to
Elizabeth (Haynes, 2006). According to the novel Frankenstein is known as the
innocent victim of a mistake and his careless supporter has brought him the brain of a
murderer instead of a dignified person, for inserting into his creature (Haynes, 2006).
The evil character of the Monster is now considered an experimental error, rather than
the predictable result of Frankenstein s hubris, and the allegation is that the creation of

focused on the fact that the creation of the Monster was possible only because
Frankenstein would let his normal, healthy mind become filled with evil and perverted
thoughts (Haynes, 2006). When the monster eventually fades away, it leaves only his
reflection in the mirror (Haynes, 2006). The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is

The border between juvenile justice and criminal justice did not endure the juvenile court
s first century. By the 1980s, there was general disappointment with both the means and
the ends of normal juvenile justice. As with every other social repair efforts, it is difficult
to say whether frustration with juvenile justice was born of erroneous concept or of
wretched execution. The administering accepted by justice policy, however, was
unmistakable. Juvenile courts began to adopt the sentiment and standpoint of criminal
courts. Many States redesigned their laws to curtail the confidentiality of juvenile court
proceedings and juvenile court records. Most States increased the legal etiquette used in
juvenile court and shifted the objective of the juvenile justice process away from
individualized intervention. Instead, juvenile courts and juvenile justice agencies began

enacted laws to toss more youths to criminal court where they could be tried and

The intended audience of Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner s Freakonomics is
