The student learned to use various technologies through constructing their music magazine project. They gained skills using iMacs, cameras and camera equipment like soft boxes, backdrops and flashes. Software programs like Photoshop, InDesign, and WordPress were also important to learn, as Photoshop allowed editing of images and text for the magazine cover, while InDesign and WordPress facilitated layout of text articles and research notes. Overall, the student learned to utilize iMacs, cameras, equipment and software, which were all essential parts of constructing their magazine.

I have used many different pieces
of equipment whilst making my
music magazine. I have learnt
how to use the iMacs, the
cameras, camera equipment,
Photoshop, Wordpress, etc. My
skills have grown rapidly
throughout this project. I have
learnt loads of new things about
the technologies of constructing
my project. I have learnt a lot
about the iMac OS X’s. I have
learnt how to use all of the
software programs as well. The
iMacs are a very important part in
the construction of my magazine
because without them I wouldn't’t
be able to do anything.
I have leant how
to use the iMacs
properly, using
them to my
advantage to
make my
magazine the
best it could be.

Horseshoe Flash Trigger: Infra red
signal sent to Strobe flash – triggers the
flash in-sync with the camera shutter.
Soft boxes: The model lights use soft
boxes – they disperse the light and give
a softer, rounder light on the subject.
Backdrops: s lit with a further two
strobes on full power to create a high
exposure, white background.
These are all very important when making a magazine cover. They all have
their own job roles in order to make everything work. At the start I didn’t know
how to use or work most of this equipment but now I do. I have learnt how
soft boxes can have a massive effect on the outcome of the photograph and
how important they are in the construction of my magazine

4. Softwar
e
As well as using a lot of hardware
equipment, I had to use a lot of
software as well to make my
magazine. This is also an
important part to the construction
of my magazine. The main
software program I used was
Photoshop. This application
allowed me to create my magazine
cover to how I want it. You can do
many thins on this program such
as distort an image, text, etc.
Change shapes, colors, sizes to
photographs/images and include
different text. At the start I had no
clue how to work this program but
Another important application
was Indesign and Wordpress.
These are both programs
involving text.
Wordpress is a blog where I got
all my information from,
research, etc. This I very helpful
as it helped me keep all my
notes, coursework in a safe
place.
InDesign was the application I
used to put my text onto my
article. It let me change the text
and let me put my articles in to
columns.
Both these applications are
very important elements to the
construction of my magazine.
