2. The audience
My product represents the
teenager/young adult social group
(male), who are in college/university
who enjoy rap/hip-hop music.
My model also reflects the social group
as he is around this age and uses slang
within his language “you get me?”, as
well as wearing clothing of the typical
college student but I felt like no props
were needed. In my contents page I
have 2 pictures of people one black
person and the other Asian however my
intentions are to aim this magazine at
everyone but this just reflects the
diversity of east London.
3. Colour scheme
My colour scheme is really aimed at men
however to get as many readers as possible
I have not excluded women from reading
this magazine as there are certain sections
in this magazine which suit any gender, it is
just this issue that is slightly more aimed at
men simply because the stereotype is more
for men listening to rap more than women.
On the other hand there are women that
like these colours but I just feel like they
are more masculine. The writing on my
front cover and contents are black and
white. Moreover if this were to be more
aimed at women I would go for slightly
lighter colours such as pink as this is a
stereotypical colour for women.
4. Summary
So in summary this product is aimed at the urban youth,
male/female including any social, ethnic and cultural
backgrounds although the majority of people that listen to
rap/hip-hop are African Americans as they started this genre of
music in the 1970’s therefore based on these stats this
magazine is still aimed at anyone who likes these genres as rap
has become a very multicultural as people from all backgrounds
listen to rap and rap themselves such as Eminem, Drake etc.
