REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL
GROUPS?

2. My magazine is mainly aimed at social groups which are a younger audience who are. Interested in rock music.
It aims to draw in a target audience between 16-25.
The language use in the Double page spread of my magazine is representative of the younger social groups as it
is laid back but also modern meaning that the language is not only up to date but is also contextual to the modern
era. Also, the sharp bright colours in the magazine reach out to a younger audience as it gives the magazine a
rock look however still looks as though it is for a younger audience.
Secondly, my magazine aims to represent a more rock based social groups. Although , the reds and yellows are
bright colours to contrast the lack background is another theme. This reaches out to a rock based audience as in
my research the majority of the people I asked said black was a prominent colour in the theme of rock. Also the
person on the front of my magazine is a screamer and also the lead-singer of a rock band. The audience would
recognise this and so would be more inclined to buy the magazine. Furthermore, the grunge font that I use
throughout the magazine creates a dirty splattered feel across the magazine which represents a crazy rock
approach to the magazine of which will appeal to my target audience.
Finally, my magazine is representative of male social groups. Throughout, my magazine ales dominate the
contents and double page spread. Although, my magazine is aimed at males it is also aimed at women and I
believe that women will be more likely to buy a magazine which is full of their favourite male artists.
