Question 4

       Who would be the
       audience for your
        media product?
Age?

My target audience is based on teenagers aged between 14-25. I
think this is an appropriate age because my magazine includes
pictures of teenagers of different ages and articles that may only
be understandable or appropriate for mature teens. Some artists and
bands will be of a much older age, so I also interpreted that into my work.

                   16 19 19, 18, 21, 20, 19 32, 35
  18
Gender?
My magazine is gender neutral as it will include bands or
individuals that girls and boys may like.
The colours of my magazine are also gender neutral – red,
orange, blue…

 I showed that my magazine
 was gender neutral by
 adding pictures of boys and
 girls into my magazine.

Depending on which issue of ‘Broadcast’ you buy, the magazine
may inflict women over men or vice- versa. This may be because
of the cover star of that week.
Type of music?
There are many genres of music but my magazine focuses on ‘rock’,
‘acoustic’, ‘alternative’ and ‘punk’. This is shown to my audience by the
pictures, colours and fonts I use.

My audience would specifically be for people who enjoy Biffy Clyro,
Weezer, Coldplay, Green Day, Blink 182, Sum 41, The script, All Time Low
and many more bands like these.
I like these artists because even though most of their songs are ‘Rock’ or
‘Alternative’, they offer to their fans a variety of genres- by this I mean,
acoustic aswell.

They use real instruments
and no auto tune.
Stereotype

My music magazine might be read by teenagers who may have a specific way
of dressing, looking and maybe even talking.

Many stereotypical ‘groups’ like different music, for example-
-‘Chavs’ – rap music
- ‘Party’ – Auto-tuned music
- ‘Emo’ – Rock, heavy music
There are also many unclassified ‘groups’.. Such as people who listen to
acoustic songs, hip hop and drum&bass.

Although my magazine has a specific genre, it does not stereotype people.
Whoever wants to read my magazine can.
My magazine may have set artists or songs which relate to a certain
stereotypes, however, it does not in any way and is free for anyone to read.
