Protected cultivation provides many-fold advantages over open field seed production of vegetables. The beauty of vegetable hybrid seed production under protected conditions is that it could be implemented at a micro or macro level depending upon the need, space, and seed crop requirements. This technology is highly productive, amenable to automation, conserves water, fertilizer, and land, and provides the required environment to overcome the biotic and abiotic stress and enhance yield as well as the quality of seeds. Protected cultivation offers a very congenial environment for producing healthy, virus-free, and genetically pure hybrid seed with higher seed yield per unit area.

Anthracnose of cotton is caused by 2 species of Colletotrichum which are seed borne in nature. This Cotton disease has worldwide distribution. In India , it was 1st reported from Bihar in 1918 by Butler. The Average estimated yield loss ranges from 1-3% to as high as 80-90%. The major symptoms are seen on the leaves. The leaves develops water soaked circular , Sunken , reddish brown lesions . When the condition is dry the tissue in the center of the lesions drys & fall down .It can be control by spraying Bordeaux mixture on seedlings .

Analysis of 100 g of edible fruit contains 91.5g of water, 6.4 g of Carbohydrates, 1.3g of Protein, 0.3g of fat and 0.5g of mineral matters.
Its green leaves are the main source of vitamin C (38-104.7mg/100g).

Cultivate the soil 3-4 time to pulverize and good
structure.
Farm yard manure(FYM) can also be add before
ploughing.
It can be cultivated in line sowing or broadcasting

1st October – 15th November is optimum sowing
time for crop in Pakistan.
14. Seed rate
4-5 Kg per acre seed is required to produce a
optimum crop stand
Germination is start with in 10-12 days after sowing
15. Irrigation
1st irrigation should be carried immediately after
sowing the seed
Subsequent 1 or 2 should be carried until seed start
germinating
After this the funnel crop should be irrigated at an
interval of 15 to 21 days
Light and frequent irrigation are suitable for best
production

1st hoeing and weeding should be carried out after one
month of sowing

Weed can be controlled by both means of chemicals and
