Various fonts are tested for different elements. Photos are edited by smoothing skin, highlighting features, and changing eye color to match the theme. Text is arranged, sized, colored and styled throughout multiple iterations. Reference is made to real magazines for conventions like placement of taglines, interviews and photos. The final design includes a masthead, cover lines, photos, prices and other standard magazine cover elements.
This document provides details about the design process for a magazine cover. The designer chose a bold red masthead and took a photo shoot with colored lighting to create dramatic effects. They used selection tools to cut out backgrounds and eraser tools to refine edges. Secondary images were added, resized, and given borders. Fonts, colors, and layout elements were adjusted to make the text and images stand out. The goal was to create a design inspired by an example magazine that looked professional and engaging for readers.
The document summarizes the process taken to create a magazine front cover and double page spread for a class project. It describes editing a photo to remove spots and brighten the skin, then using the edited photo on the cover. It also discusses designing the layout, adding bold text and headings, and struggles inserting images. For the double page spread, it placed the main edited image on the left with identifying text above, and wrote an article on the right in Word before importing to InDesign. Overall, the author is happy with the professional look but wishes better photos were taken.
The document discusses editing a photo using Photoshop tools to resemble a magazine cover photo of Kate Moss. The author used Photoshop tools like changing colors, brightness, smudging, and spot healing to edit their photo. They were pleased with the results but felt the background photo quality could be improved.
The document describes the process of designing a magazine contents page. Key points:
- Photos and bold colors are used to make headlines and sections stand out.
- Advertisements and additional photos are added to engage readers and preview articles.
- Feedback suggested making changes to look more professional, so photos of indie artists were replaced with images that better fit the rock magazine style.
- The revised contents page uses varied photos, cropping, and a subscription call-out to be more realistic.
The student created a magazine for a school project. They conducted research by analyzing existing magazines, distributing a questionnaire, and editing photos for their magazine. Their influences were Kerrang and NME magazines. They designed a logo and edited photos to have a consistent bright style. Feedback was positive overall but suggested improving images and clarifying the target audience. The student felt they best executed their research presentations and double page spread, though time management was a weakness.
The student created a magazine for a school project. They conducted research by analyzing existing magazines, distributing a questionnaire, and editing photos for their own magazine. Their final product included a logo, front cover, contents page, and double page feature spread. Based on feedback, they would improve their target audience definition and take more photos. Overall, their PowerPoint research and double page spread were strongest elements, while time management and initially lacking interview ideas were weaknesses.
This document provides details about the pre-production style sheet for a graphic design project. It includes explanations for why various images, colors, fonts, and patterns were chosen. The images showcase bold, colorful styles that depart from the creator's usual pastel aesthetic. Locations for shooting include York College studios, the creator's home, and their brother's home. The overall theme will be portraiture edited in a postmodern style. For layout, single images will be used on pages rather than multiple images crammed together to better showcase details. Proposed inside pages include split faces, rotoscoping, and neon effects.
The document provides an analysis of existing magazine front covers and images to inform the development of the author's own magazine production work. Key points:
- The author likes rotoscoping and neon effects seen in some images, and wants to incorporate these styles into their own work to make it unique.
- Various magazine covers are examined for layout, color themes, target audiences and main focuses. Features like busy backgrounds with focal images/text are noted.
- Images with neon and rotoscoping effects are favored for having bold, eye-catching styles that contrast with plain backgrounds.
- Collecting references will help the author create a magazine with interesting graphic designs, effects and contrasts to attract audiences and stand
- The strengths of the research so far have been gaining solid ideas for the graphic design project through learning about the topic. However, more work could be done, like conducting surveys or including more secondary research.
- An unexpected finding was that most graphic design work is now focused online and through social media, rather than print, which was unexpected but makes sense given technology trends.
- This research will specifically impact the project by helping understand what people like and don't like about different graphic designs through their feedback, to test out designs in experiments before finalizing the project.
The document summarizes the layout, target audience, color themes, and main focuses of several magazine front covers. Key details include:
- The layouts use varied background colors and shapes to make the covers visually interesting without being too busy. Target audiences range from teenagers to young adults.
- Color themes include pastels, neon tones, and complementary hues that match clothing or graphic elements on the cover.
- The main focuses seem to be movies, fashion, and graphic design based on cover images and publications researched. Examples of graphic design techniques like rotoscoping are highlighted.
The student reflected on their progress in designing a graphic design product targeted at 15-25 year olds. They researched graphic design and photographers to inform their project ideas. Through experimenting with Photoshop tutorials, the student identified computer issues as a potential problem and the importance of regular saving. Later weeks involved collecting graphic design images for inspiration, considering survey feedback, and continuing experiments with different styles to make the final product interesting and engaging.
This document provides a summary of the student's progress and achievements over the first 7 units of their course. It reflects on what they have learned and how their skills have developed. The student plans to create a magazine for their final major project (FMP) based on their interest in print design and magazines from their childhood. To further improve, the student aims to be more creative in their ideas and add more detail to future projects to make a strong FMP.
- The student has been experimenting with different graphic design techniques like neon effects and 3D elements to influence their magazine production. They completed tutorials on neon glasses, adding shapes to images, and 3D flowers.
- The experiments helped the student learn what effects they enjoy making and will include in their project. It also helped them identify any problems to address before production.
- While the experiments are influencing their work, the student wants to further study magazine cover designs to create an attractive, unique cover that draws in their target audience for their graphic design magazine.
This document provides a summary of the student's progress and achievements over the first 7 units of their course. It reflects on what they have learned and how their skills have developed. The student plans to create a magazine for their final major project (FMP) based on their new interests and skills in areas like Photoshop. They believe experiences in their second year projects will help them design a better FMP by expanding their ideas and including more details and research.
The document describes experiments done in Photoshop to create special effects on an image. Specifically, it details steps taken to darken the background of a photo while making a pair of glasses glow with neon color. The key steps included:
1. Adjusting brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, and levels to darken the background and make it blue-toned.
2. Masking the glasses to isolate them on their own layer.
3. Inverting the glasses layer and adjusting hue/saturation and lightness to make the glasses glow blue.
4. Adding gaussian blur to the glasses layer to enhance the glow, and changing the layer blend mode to screen.
5. Paint
The document summarizes the layout, target audience, color themes, and main focuses of 4 different magazine covers.
For the first cover, it notes the use of shapes and colors in the background, and that the target audience is 12+.
The second cover has bright, eye-catching colors and likely targets teenagers and young adults. Pastel colors give it an aesthetic look.
The third cover has a simple pink background and targets ages 17-27. Light pastels complement the graphic design element on the model's face.
The fourth cover discusses neon effects and rotoscoping styles that could be used, noting the unique and eye-catching nature of the designs. Busy backgrounds make the

The document is a proposal for a graphic design magazine project by Imogen Minto. It outlines that her main area of focus will be graphic design and photography as she will take her own images. Her rationale is that she has learned skills in magazine design over two years but wants to move beyond fashion magazines. Her concept is a magazine featuring different graphic designs, artworks, and photoshop tutorials. She will conduct research online and through surveys. Her evaluation plan is to take screenshots during the process to aid reflection on what went well and areas for improvement.
This document summarizes information about three artists - Milton Glaser, Stefan Sagmeister, and Annie Leibovitz. It provides details about their careers, educational backgrounds, notable works and publications. Milton Glaser is an American graphic designer known for designs like the I 'heart' NY logo. This document provides an opportunity to reflect on the learner's progress through the first 7 units of their qualification course. It asks the learner to think about what they have learned, how their knowledge and skills have developed, and how this has influenced their choice of final project. The learner indicates that they would like to create a magazine for their final project, as they enjoy print design and creating whatever they want. They note that making a magazine would remind them of a time when people read print publications rather than using their phones constantly.
The document summarizes the student's process of creating a fanzine about Frank Ocean through research, planning, time management, and reflection on technical and aesthetic qualities. The student researched Frank Ocean's background and music career online. They planned the fanzine layout, including childhood information and music statistics. Time management was good, though a few planned rotoscopings were cut due to time constraints. The fanzine has a consistent theme with colorful, detailed rotoscoped images of Ocean in circles alongside text.
The document provides details on research conducted on fanzines, including an analysis of existing fanzine products and initial ideas for creating a fanzine about musician Frank Ocean that would utilize rotoscoping techniques to feature cartoon-style images of him. References and ideas for developing page layouts, fonts, and color schemes are also included to plan the fanzine.
The document analyzes and summarizes several existing magazine covers. It finds that they commonly have a minimalist and neutral color scheme, with occasional pops of bold color. Images focus on clothing and models in clean, bright lighting. Layouts are simple with large central images and fonts that are easy to read. While basic, these designs look elegant and help the magazines stand out on shelves. The analysis considers incorporating similar minimalist styles for a new magazine, including a patterned background and subtle use of color.
The document outlines Imogen Minto's initial plans for a fashion magazine project with a minimalist theme. Some key points include:
- Imogen wants to create a fashion magazine with a minimalist, clean aesthetic using pastel colors unlike her previous bold magazine.
- She lists three potential ideas - fashion, celebrities, and photography - and chooses fashion as she has experience with it.
- Imogen details plans for including sketches, multiple models of different body types, and a gallery of clothing photos rather than text.
- A mood board and font choices are presented to inspire a fresh, simple look through colors like yellow, blue, pink, green and patterns.
The document provides details about Imogen Minto's process for producing a magazine. Some key points:
- Imogen has begun layout work, adding patterns to the front cover and designing double page spreads for sketches and model photos.
- Imogen experimented with editing photos in Photoshop to brighten them and make the model's eyes pop more. She smoothed the model's face using Gaussian blur.
- For the front cover text, Imogen tested different fonts and styles to make certain words like "NEW" stand out through size, color, and boldness.
- Imogen chose fonts that were clear, balanced, and professional looking for the magazine text and titles.
LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

How to Setup Warehouse & Location in Odoo 17 InventoryCeline George
In this slide, we'll explore how to set up warehouses and locations in Odoo 17 Inventory. This will help us manage our stock effectively, track inventory levels, and streamline warehouse operations.
2. Process
• The first week of production I have started the layout for my magazine. The front cover of the magazine I have done some lines
in a corner to add some patterns to it to make it look more eye-catching as I started to think It might look a little plain as I think
I’m going to be adding some colour with the outfits I choose when picking the photos.
• I’ve also made the double page spread the first one is about the sketches I have also made I’ve just done the layout of what I
might want it to look like. I did the sketches on paper I will need to scan them in to the computer so I can add them to magazine
and then add the text I have written up for them on word.
• The next double page spread is about the model wearing the clothing in the studio but I wont be taking the photos till next
week. I haven't done a lot in that one yet but u have done the background for both which I have screenshots off.
This is the pattern I did for the front cover. I did this by going onto
Photoshop and getting the ‘line tool’ and started to create lines until I
was happy with the look. At fist the lines were really faint as you might
be able to see so I thought I would make some lines stand out more by
clicking on a layer that had a line and doubled tapped on it to bring up
the layer style and went to the bottom to drop shadow and messed
around with the settings to make the line look thicker even though I just
made a shadow.
I then created another bit underneath them set of lines to make it look a
little more exciting and different and I did the exact thing the to the
other one.
The last part I did this week for the magazine front cover was adding the title for it. I chose naked
as I thought it went well with the theme I’m wanting to do. As you will see in the other
PowerPoint’s. I chose the font I wanted which is again in the PowerPoint’s but the font I chose for
this is called ‘Orator std’ I really like font as its bold and and easy to read as its spread out
equally.
You can see that I have put the title of the magazine on top of the lines I did. I did this because I
feel it creates a very interesting look to it than it just being the title on it’s own with the
background being white as that would look boring and not interest my target audience.
3. Process
After I took the pictures of my model I chose
ones I thought would look good for the front
cover. I liked these photos because I feel that
they look professional compared to the other
pictures I took. I really like the one where my
model is looking to her left. What I did to edit
them which I have actually fund a better way to
do now when I’m doing other edits for my other
images but with this one I went onto images at
the top and then went down to auto contrast
which made it brighter a little bit. However
when I edit my new pictures I have found a
better way to brighten the pictures up and
change the colour tone to make it a little bit
more colourful as the tone in this picture is
quite neutral and dull as its darker.
4. Process
As you can see here that I have edited this picture and chose a different image
for the for front cover as well. So here I actually wanted to experiment with the
effects of changing the brightness and the colour balance as it was quite dark
before. So what I did was go on image and adjustments and starting clicking
on
Which brought up all different colour balances I could change to make the
picture look like the bottom picture. I also found out new things to edit
pictures with to make them loo more air brushed and make things stand out
even more so what I id to try out and see what I could do to improve my
picture was clicking on ‘quick mask’ and made sure I was on filter and went
down to blur then Gaussian blur and messed around with how much blur I
wanted my model to have I didn’t want to have it too strong to the point
where it was obvious that I edited it but I did go a little more dramatic than as
I wanted to experiment first before actually doing my final piece. I also did a
similar thing with the eyes so clicked on ‘quick mask making sure I was on the
black colour and then zoomed into the eyes and coloured them in which you
will see in the next slide when I actually do my proper front cover. Then with
the colour white which erases the colour over the pupil then clicked the quick
mask again which selected what I just did and went to image adjustments and
clicked on colour balance and hue/saturation and messed around with making
my models eyes a brighter blue to make them pop on the cover.
5. Original
As you can see from the first image it’s the original one that I took in the studio a couple of
weeks ago, then with the other images I edited them to create a brighter look as you can see.
How I made it brighter was going on the layer of the photo then clicked on image,
adjustments, brightness and contrast and messed around on there to see what looked good I
didn’t get any screenshots of what I chose because I just wanted to mess around and see
what I could do and didn’t really think it would work and I clicked on other styles in
adjustments like hue/saturation one and moved things around there to create the bottom
picture which I really like the look off.
Another thing I did was made the eyes stand out more as I when I
look at magazines online I can see that they make the eyes stand out
the most as that attracts people eyes straight to theirs. How I did this
was by going on edit in quick mask and made sure I was brush tool
and the colour black and started to draw around the eye which made
them go red as you can see in the middle photo so it going from
normal on the left image to the next picture then clicked on the
white colour which removed the red colour and I did that for the
black bit in the eye ‘pupil’ so when I click on image and adjustments
and then clicked on the colour changes like brightness or
hue/saturation ones and made the blue stand out more.
As you can see in the picture underneath the eyes the face with the
red stuff all over my models face I did the same thing as I did =with
the eyes but on the face but instead of changing the colour as that
wouldn’t look realistic I wanted to smooth put the face a little to
make it look air brushed as most magazine producers like to make
the model look beautiful and look like they’re not wearing a lot of
makeup. So I went onto filter and blur and then to Gaussian blur and
changed the levels to where I wanted it which wasn’t very strong so
it still looked natural and not look like I edited her face and when I
was done I clicked ok and zoomed put to see the whole page and it
looked very natural but smoother.
Edited
6. I wanted the title behind the models head so the model could standout.
The way I did this was first moved the model layer behind the title layer
but because the picture has a background to it so the title was then
covered so I thought I’d move the picture back to where it was then got
the rubber tool and went over the title bit to make it look like it was
behind the models head.
For the top picture of the ‘NEW, fashion and sketches’ I’ve added to the cover of the magazine. I wanted
something to pop so I changed the words ‘new’ to a yellow as it adds colour to the cover and makes it
stand out to the eye. The font I used for the words new was ‘Abadi MT Condensed Extra Bold Regular’ I
liked it because it was bold but still looking professional to the eye than it being all fancy handwriting I
wanted it to be bold so you could also see the yellow colour as it’s a light colour and hard to see. With
the fashion and sketches the font I used for this them both was ‘Perpetua Titling MT light’ which is easy
to read and isn’t too bold where I looks too much when looking at it, its got a nice look to it with the
bold with the word ‘new’ above it.
For this part of the magazine which is still on the front cover I liked the way it looked with the models
name to be bigger with the the other words to be smaller which makes the name pop out the most but
still noticing the other words around it. The font I used for this part was ‘PT Sans Regular’ I made all the
text go to the left side and with the models name I made it go to the left as well but wanted ‘Amy’ to be
more onto of ‘Foster’. I liked this font as it’s subtle but still looks nice to look at . I like it because its
similar to the other fonts that I have used by the way its spread out its not like fancy font where its all
joint together making it hard to look at I want all my text to be clear and easy to read as it will attract
more people to my magazine.
I also have added ‘do you only better’ as this magazine is to let girls that like fashion to wear whatever they
want and feel confident in so by saying do you only better they can look at that and feel good about
themselves. The font I used for this was ‘Rockwell Regular’ again very similar to the fonts I’ve used but the
space between each letter. I also changed the ‘only better’ to yellow as well to match the words ‘New’.
The last bit I added was the issue and the date I did this because when I was looking at magazines it had
this on the magazine so I thought make it look like an actual magazine as that’s what I’m aiming to do.
The font I used was the same as the ‘AMY FOSTER’ part which is the ‘PT Sans Regular’ as I liked this font
the most so thought id use the same as the other one.
7. Original These 2 are the same one bigger
This is the one I chose
Similar to
the last one
but thicker
One I don’t like
As you can see here are some different fonts for my models name ‘AMY FOSTER’ the first one is the original one
that I started off with and decided it wasn’t standing out as much as I wanted it to so I went on to dafont and
chose a font that I felt would look good but at first I just got a few that I thought might look good with it so the
first one I got was actually the one on the right which to me gave space vibes which is not what I'm going for so I
then I chose the one next to it which is the thicker one which I thought looked okay but I still felt it looked simple
so that’s why I went to the one net to it and chose that one for my magazine because even though it’s very similar
to the one before it just felt it would work easier for what I did next to it. I do like all of them even the one on the
far right I feel that it looks cool but it would go with my theme very well but I like what the font did to the A.
8. So this is the one I chose from the other slide and said what I wanted to do next
with it would make it look better and would work a lot easier as the one before
the one I actually chose which you would of seen in the slide before it wasn’t
really work very well as you can see from the images below this one. I also very
quickly made the font bigger so it went over the models body to make it stand out
even more.
Next thing I did to the font was messed around with it to create
this cool effect as it would add more to the cover as it was
looking quite bland so what I did was, I went onto character
and changed this part to 132pt which separated the font like
this and I made sure the A was leveled with F and the same
with the Y and the R.
This is the final thing I did for that part of the magazine so I copied the name
and moved it over a little to create a shadow and then changed the colour the
yellow to fit the yellow sub-headings so it all matched and it created this which
I think looks really good I like how its different I never really see this and if I do
its usually with a white colour behind it so I thought going yellow would look
better and cooler.
9. 3 slides up you can see what I did to make my magazine look
like the old version and decided it didn’t look so good, not very
eye catching which is what I’m trying to do to get people to like
it especially my target audience. So I decided to change it to
this which you will see here.
So I moved the ‘Internet Superstar’ above my models
name as I thought it was the best place to put it and made
sense as its about my model so putting it above her name
people would know who we are on about. I also changed
the issue part for the magazine I put it under the title of
the magazine as it made more sense an where magazine
companies usually put it so I changed that and the last
part I changed was the sub-headings which I changed lot
to be honest because before in yellow it said ‘new’ and
now it has “do you but better’ and ‘Identity Matters’
which is kind of an inspiration for people who read the
magazine as we want people to be positive about
themselves and others.
10. Process
For the first double page spread I wanted to add a pastel blue colour to it, as I want some colour to my magazine so I chose this
colour as I thought it’s not in your face and will still be able to read the text.
The next bit I did was the title for this page which is sketches, and I thought instead of it just bring sketches in a normal form like
the way I’m typing now so I thought id change it up and make it look a little more interesting and fun to look at so I went onto
wrap text and clicked on style and went on to squeeze and started to mess around with the bend, horizontal and vertical distortion
to create the look in the middle picture. In the last image on the left can see I drew a sketch of a model to fit the theme of this
page and I feel that it makes it look prettier than it just being the title and that’s it. I add two dots on either side just to make it
look cuter and have more to it.
On the other side I started to type up the work I wrote on
word and put it under the photos I’m wanting the sketches to
be. I’m not entirely sure if I want to keep it like this for the
layout but I will see when it come to adding the sketches in.
the other way I would make the layout be is having the
images on the side like this but I
thought it wouldn’t look that
professional as most magazine have
the column look to them as it
looks professional and easier to
read.
11. Process
• In todays work I sorted out the text, making sure they’re all
levelled and the same size. I also made the first letters
bigger for each one so people know they’re talking about
different things for each picture. As you can see in the
bottom photo I levelled the text and the photos out by
getting the blue lines to help me level out the two things I
wanted to look right and look professional as it wouldn’t
look to great if the text and the pictures aren’t levelled or
the text is too big.
• I also changed the font for the word sketches I wanted it to
match the theme in a way it looking like I wrote it out
myself to fit the sketches as they will be drawn out. I got
the font from dafont and I wrote in the search bar on
dafont ‘sketches’ and looked through some to see which
one I liked the most.
• What I’m wanting to do next for this page is maybe add
more text to each sketch as that will make it look better
personally as there isn’t a lot of text for each one so if I
wrote out more for all of them it will look like a proper
magazine and look interesting as well as It looks quite
bland still but hopefully when I add the sketches to t and
wrote more it will look a lot better.
12. So what I did next was added more text to each column of
clothing descriptions because I felt that there wasn’t enough
text. It looked a little weird as it stopped half way on the
page so thought I’d add more text to make it look a lot more
interesting.
Moved the title bit ‘sketches’ to the top of the page instead
of it staying in the middle as I still had 2 more outfits to talk
about and didn’t want to make another slide for just 2
outfits so I thought to make it look better and more like
magazine to put it all together. I also feel because I have a
double page spread of just pictures I thought id balance it
out with a whole page full of writing but still have pictures
on it as well which are the sketches which you will see in the
bottom photo.
I decided to change the rectangles up right because it
would fit the sketches in a lot better as they are
horizontal where the boxes were landscape. With the
sketches I drew them on piece od papers and then
scanned them into the computer to then put then
place them in there right places as you can see in the
picture at the top has text saying what outfit is what
so it made it easier for me to know where to put each
sketch.
14. Process
The first bit I did was the same as the other double page spread but this one is
green instead. I’m not sure how I’m wanting to lay this on out. Like with the
other one I changed when I put the text on but I'm thinking I might do the same
layout like the last double page spread and because I have more images of the
model as this one is about the actual clothing I will want to add more to it so I
will make a couple of pages for this fashion one. Plus when I look at magazines
on the internet all of them have a column look to them so I will want to add that
to mine so it looks like a magazine as that’s what I’m aiming for. I might change
the font as well for this slide too but I will see when I go on dafont which is
where I got the other one from. What I will be doing next for this one is going on
word to write up what I’m wanting to add for each outfit I took a picture off.
15. Before
What I did today was focus on this page for the magazine. I wanted to t least
start it to get an idea of what I wanted to do because before I did anything
with it, as you could of seen in the slides before it was only fashion on one
side and then 3 boxes and didn’t really know what to do with it so I decided
to go onto Photoshop and start editing the pictures I took off my model in the
studio of the ones I wanted and then just placed them around the 2 pages of
this page to see what I could do with them. I started to look on Google again
to see what magazine double page spread looked like to try and get an idea
off what I wanted.
What I decided to do was create columns so I clicked on the rectangle tool
and 4 little square boxes which you can see in the pictures on the left and
paced the boxes inside the rectangle shape to then get the photo’s I edited
and put it in front of the square and clicked on the picture layer and pressed
on ‘create clipping mask’ making sure the square box was under the picture
layer so the photo would go inside of the box like you can see in the photo at
the bottom.
The picture I took of my model is
above the square box so when I click
the’ create clipping mask’ it will go
inside the box.
16. This is what it ended up looking like, I am wanting to change up the some of the photos
to someone else either me or another friend to make it look more exciting than just
having the same model throughout the whole magazine as magazine don’t usually have
one model in it they get different females to wear the same clothing so people see what
it looks like on different people.
The next bit I did was the other side of the magazine and I wanted to make it look like a
polaroid picture so I did this by clicking on the rectangle tool and made the white part as you
can see in the picture on the left. I then got the tool again and made a smaller rectangle in the
shape and put it higher up leaving space at the bottom to make it look like a polaroid photo I
thought it was a really nice look to this page as its full of pictures and wanted it to fit the
theme of it all which I feel like it does. As then as you can see with the picture at the bottom is
the completed bit I might add more to it if I think of more ideas but so far I’m really liking the
way it looks.
So this is the completed look but like I said I might add more to it if I get
more ideas, I do want to change some of the pictures to another model to
change it up a little but I feel that’s all I will do. I also added ‘fashion’ on the
bottom bit of the polaroid to make it look like it was written on. The font I
used for the word ‘fashion’ was ‘BeautyDream Regular’ which I think is a
really nice looking handwriting font to again fir the theme for this page.
17. The last thing I added to my magazine was an advert, I chose a
fragrance advert with a model and a tiger. As you can see wit the
layers the main thing I was doing was creating a layer mask and
adding solid colours on the two pictures to create this look. As you
can see the model is coloured blue and the tiger is red so when you
layer them on top of each other you can see the the effect of them
both how I’ve made the tigers colour not as bright so the blue can
still pop through. I also wanted the tigers eye to be on the model
eye which I think adds a really cool look as her eye is now red
looking. This is when I chose to do a fragrance style look because I
feel that it looks like an advert that would see for a fragrance so I
thought id use that idea for mine so I wanted a posh kind of name
which you can see I chose ‘Vane’ which has 2 meanings to it just
different spelling so I has 2 in 1, the other meaning is you’re
obsessed with yourself. I also put fragrance under the title for the
advert to let people know what the advert is a about. I got all the
text from dafont because it has aesthetic fonts which go well with
this advert.
