The document describes the process used to create a poster in Photoshop. Multiple continuous shots of a model were taken and layered in Photoshop using blending modes like overlay and multiply. Colors were enhanced, particularly for the eyes, and the overall tone was made cooler by adding blue. The initial image was reworked to be more eye-catching. Faces from the trailer shoot were also used. Text was added using downloaded fonts and various Photoshop tools like magic wand and Gaussian blur to refine edges.

2. Since I was unable to use my
original method (long exposure
photography), I’ve made
continuous shots while the model
was moving from side to side.
Then, I’ve inserted these images
into Photoshop and layered them
on top of each other using layer
modes such as overlay, multiply
and opacity. Not to mention
”layer modes” were useful for
enhancing the colours of
particular aspects such as eyes,
since I wanted the protagonist to
have extremely blue and
saturated eyes. Moreover, I’ve
highlighted all of the layers and
changed the overall colour tone
of the image using ‘Colour
Balance’ making the photograph
look a lot more cold by adding in
more blues rather then reds.

3. When I thought the image was
done, I’ve changed my mind.
The reason why I’ve decided to
redo it is because it wasn’t eye-
catching enough and it didn’t
get as much ’good feedback’ as
this attempt. Even tough I’ve
used these images for my trailer
shoot, I’ve decided to also use
them in my poster because they
are expressive. The poster is
more obvious in terms of
context than the previous one.
The steps I took in order to add
the faces are exactly the same
as the previous slide.
I’ve used a Photoshop font and
added to it in order to make it
more original. Since the title
has the word “Mortal”, I’ve
joined the letters using a square
brush tool. For the title, I also
used “shadow drop” & gradient.

4. Then, I’ve proceeded to add
more text. In order to make it
more professional looking, I've
downloaded film poster credit
font. Additionally, I’ve placed
the actors name right above
the film title and coloured it in
blue to match with the overall
colour palette.The “coming
soon” font was used from a pdf
image which had a
background. I used the magic
wand tool to outline it, deleted
the background and used a soft
brush to smudge the edges, I
also smudged it using blur
settings “Gaussian Blur”.Then,
I’ve changed the layer settings
to “Multiply”, made a new layer
with no layer settings, merged
them together and locked the
layer. Using the ’lock’ settings,
I’ve used a soft brush (blue) to
give it a gradient effect.
