Ani bought 3 kg of long beans and 500 g of chilly.
What is the weight of the vegetables in kilograms?
Strategy 1: Trying a Simpler Case

          gram              kilogram
         1000 g              1.0 kg
         500 g               0.5 kg

To solve the problem:
3 kg = 3.0 kg

So,       3.0 kg + 0.5 kg
        = 3.5 kg
Strategy 2: Choosing Operations

2. Information needed Total of the vegetables (kg)

3. Operations          Addition and division
4. Solve               a.  Convert:
