Storytelling is the art of using language, gestures, and physical movement to share a story with a live audience. It involves orally presenting a narrative with characters, structure, and a sense of completeness. There are benefits to both reading a story aloud from a book and telling a story from memory without the book. Reading allows less mistakes but lacks a personal experience, while telling allows seeing children's faces but risks mistakes. Effective storytelling requires practice and uses preparing the environment, voice, body language, and language to engage listeners. Benefits of storytelling include helping children learn about the world, develop skills like listening and imagination, and support emotional and intellectual development.
Today, a story could be oral, written or digital. Stories help us relate personally to universal truths and add an emotional connection. Stories are an inseparable part of growing up. It is definitely an experience that most of us have gone through. Here is presentation that highlights on why people are more influenced by storytelling approach of teaching.

We all love a story; it’s part of what we are as human beings. In fact it’s been said that the original learning technologies were the story and the conversation. But how can we use this natural way of learning for organisational learning? This presentation was part of the Learning and Skills Group webinar series where, Dr. Maureen Murphy, Managing Director at Aurion Learning and and Pat Kenny, eLearning Manager at HSE explored the practical side of developing and using stories for learning.

Stories are the most powerful vehicle for instruction as they incorporate the categories and processes used by the child in understanding and interpreting the world: a beginning, a middle, and an end, binary oppositions, absolute meaning, emotional and moral categories.
Kieran Egan
"Storytelling is a way of sharing experiences and feelings with others using words, actions, and imagination. It's like telling a story with your whole body and mind. Storytelling can be super fun and useful in many ways!
First, it's a participatory activity, which means everyone can join in. You can use words, actions, and even your voice to make stories exciting. The best part is, storytelling tells a story with a beginning, middle, and end, just like your favorite books and movies. And when you listen to stories, it's like going on an adventure with your imagination.
So, how do we use storytelling? Well, it's like a magic tool that can do a lot of things!
We can learn valuable lessons about kindness and goodness through stories. Through the choices made by fictional people, it teaches us how to make moral decisions. These characters have lessons to teach us about bravery, charity, and honesty.
Narratives can occasionally introduce us to novel and exciting concepts. It expands our mental capabilities and encourages creativity and intelligence. You can make up imaginary places and fictional animals!
When we tell stories, we become little creators. We make up characters, places, and adventures, which is like painting with words and ideas. It's super cool for our brains!
Also, storytelling can help us get better at talking and writing. We hear new words and different ways to say things in stories. This helps us become better at communicating with others.
And guess what? When we listen to stories, we often want to read more and more. It's like getting a taste of a delicious treat and wanting more. So, storytelling can make us love reading.
Building a language and literacy foundation happens well before students enter our classrooms. It is important to surround young children with many different language and literacy experiences. This presentation explores ways to provide students with rich, engaging environments to support their growth and development as readers, writers, and thinkers.

Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

2. What is story telling?
What is a story? What is a telling?
Storytelling is the art of using language, vocalization, and/or
physical movement and gesture to reveal the element and
images of a story to a specific, live audience.
Person-to-person oral and
physical presentation of a story
to an audience
Specific structure of narrative
with a specific style and set of
characters and which includes a
sense of completeness
3. Read aloud or tell stories?
You don't have to learn the story
and you don't worry about making
mistakes
BUT...
You must be careful not to read
quickly and you must pay
attention to the listeners
You are giving children a personal
experience. You can see children's
faces
BUT...
You must learn the story well
enough to tell it without the book.
Risk of making some mistakes
5. How do you tell stories?
Preparing the
environment
Your
manner
Your voice
The
language
Your body
and
face
6. Benefits of Storytelling
Through the stories you can...
Know your world,
learn values and
new knowledge
and vocabulary
Develop learning
strategies:
listening,
imagination,
memorize, erc.
Develop every kind
of intelligence and
build a emotional
development
7. Activities
Teacher
tells a story
Children cross out
the words they
have listened
In turns, children
may invent an end
for the story
Associate each
keyword with
a gesture
8. Web applications
You can choose the
characters, the
background and
the language
You can add gestures and change the camera ange
You can watch and
listen to your story
Create your own video-story
