Singapore performed well in the TIMSS 2007 study in both Grade 4 and Grade 8 mathematics. At Grade 4, Singapore scored at the advanced international benchmark level and was among the top performers. At Grade 8, Singapore also scored at the advanced benchmark and was among the top 5 performing countries. Singaporean students reported more positive attitudes towards mathematics compared to international averages, especially at Grade 8 where they had higher rates of valuing mathematics. Overall, the study shows Singapore's students achieving at high levels in mathematics and having constructive mindsets around the subject compared to other nations.
