Was Tsar Nicholas Emperor Unfit
Tsar Nicholas II of Russia: An Emperor Unfit to Rule Ravaged Russia At the end of the nineteenth
century, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia reluctantly took command of an empire overflowing with
revolutionaries who were seeking change in response to hardships that their nation was facing. His
timid personality, coupled with his lack of political education and military experience, made him unfit
to calm the war fueled chaos that would soon envelop Russia. Nicholas series of unfortunate,
unprepared and uninformed decisions began with his marriage and eventually ended with his decision
to abandon the capital to lead his armies, ultimately leading to the demise of his imperial family s
three hundred year dynastic tradition. The turn of the century illuminated Russia, commonly labeled
as backwards by the other European powers, as the last remaining European autocracy. Russian
society still operated on the estate system, which was characterized by an enormous gap between the
upper class nobility and the lower class peasantry. Peasants comprised eighty percent of the population
and only a fraction were educated. They had little understanding of government and were highly
patriarchal. Many served as serfs. It was not until the 1860s that these serfs were freed from legal
bondage by Nicholas grandfather, Alexander II. However, this was not enough to satisfy Russian
citizens newfound taste of freedom. In the years following, they demanded he establish an elected

Essay on Amillennialism
Amillennialism Amillenianism literally means no millennium. This name stems from the disbelief that
there will be a literal thousand year period called the golden age, either before or after the return of
Christ (Gregg 459). This view unlike the others, is not a new concept, even though the name is new. In
fact, R.B. Strimple claims this particular view has been around as long as Christianity (83).
Amillennialists generally assume that all millennium prophecies are fulfilled in between the first and
the second coming of Christ (Gregg 459). The time subsequent to the first coming and prior to the
second coming is known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Believing that the two resurrections in Revelation 20:4 6 are occring at the same time is blasphemy
and heretical in my opinion. This passage clearly confims a different timing for each, first resurrection
at the first coming, second resurrection at the second coming. This alone makes me mad. Along with
the resurrection wickedness, amillenialists will disagree with the thousand year reign on earth.
Revelation 20:3 speaks about Satan being locked away in the abyss so that he cannot tempt or deceive
the nations earth. I personally believe that God will reign in both heaven and on earth during the
thousand year period.
Dispensational Premillennialism Dispensationalism is a period of time during which man is tested in
respect to his obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God (Pentecost 391). There are three
components of dispensationalism that I need to go over before I get deeper into the theology of it;
first, dispensationalism consistently interprets the Bible literally. I have found that other views go
literal and symbolic, depending on the subject, but not dispensationalism. Second, dispensationalism
distinguishes between the church and Israel. This kind of approach allows us to understand that at one
time, God was dealing with Israel, but now He is dealing with the church, and one day He will deal
with Israel again. Lastly, dispensationalism has to do with understanding God s ultimate purpose; that
is,

Examples Of Love At First Sight Essay
Is Love at First Sight Possible?
Love at first sight is the experience of starting to be in love with someone as soon as you see them for
the first time. To a large extent, love at first sight is possible to start a relationship but not possible to
maintain a relationship in a long run.
Love at first sight involve passion, which is recognized as one of the components of love. Eros, one of
the six love style suggested by John Alan Lee (1976) in the color wheel theory of love, is defined as
passionate love. Strong physical and/or emotional attraction is the basis of such kind of love style.
Later research on this theory of love by Clyde and Susan Hendrick (1986) also suggested six love
attitude scales using factor analysis, supporting the existence ... Show more content on

Study shown that couples who want to make their relationship permanent (e.g. through marriage) tend
to have higher level of commitment than passion, while couples who never thought to make their
relationship permanent tend to have higher level of passion (Gonzaga, Turner, Keltner, Campos,
2006). This shows that commitment is a much important factor when transforming people s bonding
to a long term relationship, but not passion. Even if dating couples are married base on the infatuation,
such passionate love may not last long. As love at first sight is a kind of love that only involves intense
passion, people may idealize their partner when getting along with each other (Ben Ze ev, 2000),
which means people are often in love with the idealized image but not the real one. However, such
situation may not hold long. Study found that the amount of passion between couples who had
intensely passionate courtships decline very quickly over the first twenty four months after reaching
the peak level due to marriage (Niehuis, Reifman, Feng, Huston, 2014). Once the passion fade and the
couple still did not develop sufficient level of intimacy and commitment, which is an important factor
for long term relationship (Sternberg, 2007), to maintain their bonding, the couple may divorce. These
research studies reflect that although love at first sight has

Psychoanalytic Theory Of Human Development
Psychoanalytic Theory
Psychoanalytic Theory is a theory of human development that holds that irrational, unconscious drives
and motives, often originating in childhood, underlie human behavior. It is thought to influence every
aspect of thinking and behavior, from the smallest details of life to the crucial choices of a lifetime.
Sigmund Freud is an Austrian physician who believed the stages of human development were
characterized by sexual pleasure centered on a particular part of the body.
Oral Stage (Birth to 1 year) In infancy, everything the child gets a hold of goes to their mouth. The
lips, tongue, and gums are the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. They love to suck on
their fingers or pacifier majority of the time, even in their sleep.
Anal Stage (1 3 years)
The anal is the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. During this time children are
beginning toilet training. They are now able to interpret when they need to use the restroom and able
to communicate to the parents when they need to go.
Phallic Stage (3 6 years)
During this stage, the penis is the most important body part, and pleasure is derived from genital
stimulation. This is the time when they begin to discover their genitals, girls may ask questions while
on the other hand, boys may feel a sense of pride.
Latency (6 11 years)
During this age of development sexual needs quieten down and children begin to focus on social
activities with friends.

Personal Interest Project Analysis
The way society shapes the way that individuals see people who have a disability is what my Personal
Interest Project is about. It is on the way that individuals see people with a disability and whether or
not this is base around other people in society s ideas. People often come to conclusions based on
family expectations and their views towards something, views within the community for example
peers impact thoughts and values and play a major role in each others views. The reason for this topic
choice is due to having a huge interest in this field and wanting to do something that was different and
that would relate across a broad number of my subjects. This PIP is going to show how society
impacts on people s thoughts and changes the way things are seen and thought about. Society has a

These included an interview and I also handed out questionnaires as part of my primary research. As
for my secondary research I conducted analysis of data from varied resources such as the internet,
magazines and previous PIP s. The reason for conducting an interview was so that I was able to get
emotions, body language, thoughts and opinions first hand from a parent/carer s point of view. This
information however may be slightly bias because they were her daughters therefore I had to go
through it very carefully being aware of this. An interview was a good choice because it gave me an
idea of what both the carer and the dependent go through. Questionnaires were chosen because it is
easy to give out, collect and collate. They can give bulk statistical responses which is what was
needed. The responses were quite helpful and it was a very sufficient way to gather data. Data analysis
was used for a lot of this PIP because I needed to gather information about the different types of
disabilities that people can have. It was also needed to ensure a good quality of of information and to
ensure that my information is not

JAPANESE STRATEGIC FAILURES IN THE SPRING OF 1942 Essay
After successfully executing operations in the Southeast and the Southwest Pacific by the spring of
1942, what should Japan have done next?
I can run wild for six months ... after that, I have no expectation of success.
Unconfirmed quotation attributed to Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander in Chief Japanese
Combined Fleet.
Setting the stage Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is believed to have foretold of the suffering that was to
befall Japan, and in fact was said to have argued heavily against waking a sleeping giant. Did
Yamamoto recognize the shortcomings of Japan s war strategy even before the first shots were fired?

Even in the years leading up to the war, Japan s military believed in the superiority of their technology
and personnel. For instance, even when Japanese naval leaders correctly perceived the shift of carrier
based aircraft becoming the predominant offensive capability, they made the error of believing that
American naval air would never be a worthy opponent. 2 pg. 359
Once success is tasted, the possibility of failure becomes less believable. The Japanese were able to
move so swiftly in the Pacific in the first 6 months of war that they seemingly believed that they could
continue uncontested indefinitely. Once again, as in their early victories in the Russo Japanese War
over three decades earlier, Japan possessed in the stronger hand at the outset of conflict, because they
were the initiators the conflict and had the capability to plan for all of the moves they would make at
the outset. Their opponents in both wars were initially left with no choice but to only be able to react
to Japanese attacks, and in only limited fashion were the opponents able to turn the tables and force
the Japanese to react. An example of being able to turn the tables was the April 1942 Doolittle raid,
which forced the Japanese to change their operational plan to one of requiring the destruction of the
U.S. carrier fleet. The fact

Carnival Cruise Lines Of Carnival
Carnival Cruise Lines is one of the most profited and vacationed cruise line. All over the world,
tourists venture this billion dollar cooperation and have never thought their business strategy to keep
them profitable every year. With all the fun it comes, it has a big price tag to operate these liners. But,
their current strategy will eventually decline if the cooperation does not implement new ways to keep
the company successful.
In the recent years, the Carnival was a successful cruise lines that ventured around the world. It was a
two company competitive market of only Carnival and Royal Caribbean; which Carnival was the
largest in the industry. Carnival has 6 corporations headquartered Globally and 10 Sub Cruise lines
that are owned by Carnival. Carnival branded and marketed in every country by allowing their cruise
lines offered many amenities to cruise around the trans antic seas. Carnival was the highest in
productivity until Norwegian, Disney, MSC cruises, started to brand their opportunities and offerings,
that declined the market of Carnival.
Carnival Corporation Current Strategic plan is profitable, but could be better considering their market
share is compared to Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. The Cruise lines North American market share in
2011 was at a 52.9% for Carnival. In addition, 51.6 % World Wide Cruise Market share which is
impressive, but can use improvement. Their current strategy with the market share dominates the
industry, but Carnival does not

Personal Pilate Action Plan
Specific Goal:
I would like to improve my performance in the pilates exercise of roll ups. The pilates roll ups targets
and strengthens the abdominal muscles and spine. It also tones the buttocks, lower back and hips. I am
choosing an exercise that targets core strength because I have Crohn s Disease and this affects my
core. I want to build core muscle and this will help my digestive system. My fitness test in one of my
first pilates classes showed I have a weak core because I had a difficult time doing the Hundreds
exercise and roll ups. If possible, I would like to double my performance in the roll ups exercise over
the course of two weeks.

The first point, holding a plank is an activity I may do every morning before going to school. Before
eating breakfast or getting ready, I can awaken myself up and challenge myself by doing a plank on a
pilates mat beside my bed. Second, the roll ups exercise may be done very easily in my bedroom on
my mat before going to bed. Whereas, performing crunches every second day gives me time to
recover from my previous workout and still progress with myself to attain my goal. I either have time
in the morning or at night and my action plan incorporates both times. The only resource this action
plan requires is a pilates mat and I will use my mother s mat at home and I already have a treadmill in
my basement.
Timely Goal:
Today, it is Friday October 23, 2015 that I am creating my goal for an exercise in pilates. I will have
class on Monday October 26, 2015 in which I will be able to work on my roll ups. Considering the
two hour pilates class I have every Monday and the measures I am aiming to take outside of class, I
am hoping to achieve my target in two weeks from now. Therefore, in my pilates class on Monday

The Christian Worldview Of The Holy Bible
The term worldview refers to an accumulation of core beliefs, which influence the understanding man
has of the world. Because a worldview refers to individual beliefs, everyone s worldview is different.
The Christian worldview is based off of the Holy Bible, and because of that, God shapes the way
Christians understand the world around them. However, the Bible is not the only influence that
Christians are exposed to, and they must constantly monitor their worldview to be certain that it does
not stray from the truth in God s Word. If Christians are able to identify some key beliefs that are in
the Bible, it can make the task of monitoring their worldview easier. The beginning of the Bible, the
Creation, is one of these foundational beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A recurring idea called Gnostism is an example of flawed theology which can be exposed by the
Creation story. The Gnostics claimed that the one true God is too high and pure to be contaminated by
our lower, physical reality. . . Thus, when Gnostics read the Old Testament, they concluded that the
God presented there must be an inferior god. (Wittmer) The story of Creation reminds Christians of
how the world should be, well and good, and can help to paint a clearer picture of what the restored
earth will be like. The Gnostic ideas are valid only if God created an imperfect world. Christians
know, because of the Creation story, that God created a perfect world. Christianity, like its parent faith,
Judaism, embraced what he [N. T. Wright] and others called creational monotheism. They affirmed the
goodness of creation and of God s continual activity within creation. Thus, for them, salvation was not
a matter of being delivered from the material world to a state of disembodied bliss, but instead, a
restoration of God s intended order for the creation. (Stonestreet. 2014) Thus, the claim that an inferior
god made a tainted creation is false, because the Creation was perfect, and God is the highest being.
Because of the Creation story, Christians can recognize Gnostic ideas as flawed theology, affirming
the story of Creation as a fundamental base for the Christian

Funeral Rites Of Misenus
The introduction of Misenus into the beginning Book VI of the Aeneid demonstrates the Roman belief
that a dead body brings pollution: both physically and spiritually. In order to combat this Aeneas is
instructed to carry him to his place of rest and lay him in a tomb. Then you must bring black cattle to
begin purification . This purification ritual exemplifies the notion that a dead body brings pollution to
the community it is found within. The in depth funeral rites described in Book VI in regards to
Misenus exemplify the modern Roman belief and rituals regarding death. First they lit a large pyre
with Misenus armour placed on top. Secondly they heated water cauldrons to wash and anointed his
body and then placed him in his familial purple robes: further exemplifying the importance of body
purification. Then there are descriptions of lighting the pyre and offerings being burnt: incense,
sacrificial food, and bowls filled with oil. The ashes are then cooled with wine and placed in a bronze
casket that is then carried around the comrades thrice. Finally, in this description, a mound is made
and in this case called Mount Misenus: a lasting memory. The funeral rites of Misenus demonstrate
important, modern, roman qualities. In the Bronze Age, when the myth of Aeneas is set, traditions
toward burial and death were different. The fact that Virgil depicts this ancient, mythological funeral
in an Augustan Rome manner exemplifies the importance of this burial, thus

Invasion of Privacy and Libel Case Study
Invasion of Privacy and Libel Case Study
Invasion of privacy is something that is a major concern among Americans. In this paper I will discuss
Steve, who has recently joined a church. The church doctrine is such that members are to reveal
indiscretions from their past. Steve has told them of some of his indiscretions but Steve is not happy
about this and decides he would rather leave the church. The church leaders have told Steve even if he
leaves his neighbors as well as members of the church will be notified of his past. In this paper I will
discuss which privacy torts are involved as well as if this is a libel case. I will also discuss whether the
expectation of privacy applies to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would be easier to pursue actions if what Steve disclosed something such as armed robbery or any
number of felonies in which case the church may feel the need to notify the police. Had he told them
of his pension to jay walking it would not hold as much weight if any. It should be noted that in this
case should not be considered intentional intrusion invasion of privacy. The reasoning for this would
be that when we discuss this tort it should be noted that this involves delving into an individual s
private life or thoughts and being unauthorized. If however the church had gotten ahold of Steve s
information from listening in on his conversations with members of the church. It should also be noted
that tort of appropriation is not a factor as well. The explanation for this is that the individual involved
did not consent to his/her use of their picture or likeness or even their name for any type of personal
gain.
According to the definition of expectation of privacy which is you expect privacy as society agreeing
with you, Steve would not really be entitled as a result of the church not saying in words that privacy
would be given. I think that Steve naturally thought that a church would keep his indiscretions to
themselves. I think that the majority of people would be inclined to think the same however it is never
safe to assume anything. A good example of an expectation of privacy could be in the Catholic
Church. When an individual

no fear, or pain. The community could not make choices and the members of the community did not
have any feelings. As the plot progresses, the chief elder provided the children with their perspective

Food During World War II Essay
Food played a pivotal role in the daily lives of all persons in Vichy France during World War II. The
finding and gathering of food consumed long hours of the average person s life through ration cards
and queques. The search and the worship of food was an integral part of life to all people from the
general public to the Resistance Fighters. Food is a necessity of all life, for the Nazi Germans it was a
tool to control the Vichy French Regime and people as the daily hunted for food and reveled in eating
it. As Germany invaded France, it relieved the former government and the Vichy Regime of its control
of the food supply and duties of caring for the well being of the people. However, Nazi Germany s
first priority was the health of its fatherland and its troops that required a vast and constant source of
food. France was forcibly cut off from its old trading partners and her imports contracted rapidly. This
left only meager supplies to the French people that was carefully controlled through the German
rationing system. By 1944, Domestic agriculture outputs was 40 percent lower than the average 1930s
yields. They seized the best animals and a large majority of hay leaving on the undernourished for the
French farmers and their markets. This was a complete culture turnabout and shock when compared to
the relative abundance of food in prewar France. One where, not only, was there enough but there

Nymphal Ticks Case Study
Pathogenesis
Initial infection
Nymphal ticks require at least of 24 hours of attachment in order to build a sufficient bacterial load
(Hildenbrand et al., 2009). Borrelia bacteria remain localised in the area of the bite before subsequent
inflammatory responses cause vasodilation allowing Borrelia to disseminate throughout the host s
body (Pachner Steiner, 2007).
Immune evasion mechanisms
Across the three main strains of Borrelia, on average 8% of coding DNA in their genome is devoted
purely towards synthesizing surface lipoproteins (Pal Fikrig, 2003). This large allocation and
subsequent recombination allows Borrelia change the expression of their outer surface proteins (Osp)
as well as the variable major protein like sequence (vls) almost instantly, preventing the immune
system from developing a specific response (Stewart et al., 2005). An example of this is OspA, which
is extremely immunogenic, is down regulated once tick feeding has begun and then increased again
after Borrelia has infected the nervous system (Fallon et al., 2010). This ability to change the
expression of Osps also allows Borrelia to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

has been shown to have the ability to form cyst like forms, almost entering latency, in which they can

study, Gruntar et al. (2001) found that Borrelia garinii are particularly resilient as they can return to its
motile state even after freeze then thawing the cysts. Another theory states that the inflammatory
response may cause permanent damage to neurons therefore causing symptoms of pain, fatigue and
malaise months after initial infection (Hildenbrand et al.,

Similarities Between The Holocaust And The Holocaust
All around us people are being discriminated for what they look or act like, the color of their skin,
religion, and language. During the civil rights movement the citizens of the United States were
fighting over equality.Unfortunately, a few people might have said they didn t want African Americans
in their country and that opinion spread to other people and the world of the African Americans was
completely turned upside down. There is a similar story sorta like the civil rights movement and it was
called the Holocaust. The Holocaust was where at one point the Jewish religion was considered racist
and needed to be treated differently from other religions. Although, the holocaust and the civil rights
movement based around two different groups of people and what happened to those people both talk
about discrimination of both groups. In each of these two events two different groups of people were
being targeted as different. In the holocaust the Jewish people were called different ; all because one
man thinks that the Jewish religion shouldn t exist everyone else begins to feel that way. As time went,
on this man, Adolf Hitler, may the jews feel nonhuman and that they have no identity in the world. On
the other hand, in the civil rights movement, it was African Americans who were considered different.

The Social Darwinism Of The World War I
American Social Darwinism
For their point of view does not permit of a live and let live kind of carrying on. It is a point of view
that justifies itself by a whole hearted acceptance of the worst of Neo Darwinism, the Allmacht of
natural selection applied rigorously to human life and society and Kultur (p.22, Headquarters Nights
by Vernon Kellogg).
In the years following World War I, the Social Darwinist movement lost some of its momentum due to
the unpopularity of Germany s Neo Darwinism. Support for an individualistic and nationalistic based
Social Darwinism died and was replaced by the state enforced Social Darwinism of eugenics. Despite
the widespread Christian attack on Darwinian tenets, Christians did not fight the eugenics movement
in an effective way. Eventually, even legislatures controlled by Christians fell to the false promises of
eugenics. Despite poignant criticism of eugenics among scientists in the United States, more than
30,000 individuals were forcibly sterilized. In an ironic twist of fate, the Nazis Party s adoption of
American Eugenics programs led to the virtual extinction of Social Darwinism in the United States.
Social Darwinism stems from a misapplication of Darwin s theory of evolution. In 1859 Charles
Darwin published On The Origin of Species, which describes the mechanism for changes in the traits
of a population over time. This mechanism, called natural selection, favors the survival, and hence the
reproduction, of those

Examples Of Odd Behavior In America
After disembarking on my voyage, I have finally reached land. I have classified this land as America,
the land of the free. Upon my arrival, I witnessed a group of people unknown to the outside world the
modern day Americans. I have spent the past few weeks observing them along with their behaviors.
The first ritual belonging to the Americans that I studied was how they spent majority of their day at
work. Americans possess a wide variety of jobs to choose from such as a gardener, musician, or
construction worker. The Americans use the money they have earned while at work and put it towards
leisure activities; however, these activities focus primarily around one subject themselves. This odd
behavior is most observed in the women of the American people. For example, female Americans will
dedicate entire days to improving their outer appearance; these days may include activities such as
dyeing one s hair, putting on makeup, applying fake tanner, or ... Show more content on

The topic of sex if often avoided in daily conversation. Not only is sex considered to be taboo, but it is
also predetermined. The American people schedule when to have sex in order to avoid pregnancy as if
pregnancy is some sort of unwanted occurrence. In order to know when it is safe to have sex, the
female Americans often track their cycle and predict when they are ovulating the time when women
are most fertile. Even after a women does become pregnant, the event is still treated as awkward
shameful even. This idea is best exemplified by the choice of dress that pregnant women choose to
wear. Female Americans, who have been impregnated, tend to choose to wear loose and baggy
clothing in order to hide their current state. Once it is time for the child to be born, the American
women will seek the assistance of a physician within a health care facility; they typically wish to be
alone when this act is taking

What Are The Consequences Of The Boston Tea Party
On the night of December 16, 1773 the Boston Tea Party became a crucial part in American history.
This incident was an act of rebellion against the British government that was led by Samuel Adams
and the Sons of Liberty. Prior to the affair the patriots dressed as American Indians. Without delay the
Sons of Liberty stepped aboard three ships and threw an entire shipment of East India Company tea
into Boston Harbor.
This protest was a reaction to the Tea Act of 1773 that was passed by British Parliament. This act
violated the colonists rights and made them believe the law didn t represent them. This lead to the No
taxation without representation slogan. The Boston Tea Party was an enormous step in the start of the
American revolution,

The Basic Myth Of Our Culture Is That Consumption Is The...
The basic myth of our culture is that consumption is the goal of life (gtd. In Glickman). Consumption
is an important aspect of everyday life as we are continuously consuming products. The clothes we
wear, the food we eat and the devices we use to communicate with people are produced by companies
for our consumption. Companies turn to advertising agencies to come up with ways to effectively
market their products and create demand. Advertisement agencies make use of profiling and niche
marketing to target the groups of customers that the product will appeal to (McFall 5). Advertisers use
societal stereotypes, for example, gender stereotypes to link a particular product to a group of
consumers in order to create a demand for the product. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Advertisements sell the masses the idea of what it means to be male or female and what is the
expected behaviour of a particular gender (Cortese 57). An example of this is seen in how toy
companies market products for boys and girls differently (Cortese 57). Action oriented toys are
marketed to boys while passive toys are directed towards the direction of girls (Cortese 57).
Advertising s role of creating gender stereotypes then follows children into their teenage years as
adverts continue to have an effect on how children s identities are constructed (Frith and Mueller 92).
Advertisements continue to use visual images of men and women to persuade people to purchase
certain products (Cortese 57). Advertisements take a product, remove the meaning associated to that
product then insert a new meaning in order to create a new cultural meaning ( McFall 66).
Advertisements create a new meaning of what it means to be attractive as women shown in
advertisements stereotype beauty or attractiveness to be associated with young, slim and perfect
flawless body shapes (Cortese 59. This is a problem as advertisements present unrealistic beauty
norms by using intensive retouching tools to create perfectly proportionate models (Frith and Mueller
92). Although a very small portion of women actually have the body shapes shown in advertisements,
women are

Swing Dance During The Harlem Renaissance
The definition of swing dance can be described as a synchronized dance with jazz music that have a
related variety of partnered dances which includes Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, and Smooth Lindy.
Swing dance is a type of social dance that was created sometime during 1920 to 1950. It is a dance
that is associated with Jazz which is a type of music that can be seen having influence from Africa but
was created and spread in the United States during the Harlem Renaissance. The Harlem Renaissance
took place during the 1920s and 1930s, which is seen as the movement of colored people which led to
the creation of new literatures, art, music, and dance. The motivation of the Harlem Renaissance was

The dances like the art and literature of the Harlem renaissance took popularity and influenced further
future dances and work which were carried on by the dance pioneers. There are many names that
come into mind when talking about the creation of social dance during the Harlem Renaissance, for
example: Frankie Manning, Herbert White Whitey , and Norma Miller. Frankie Manning is famous for
his swing skills in Lindy Hop. Frankie Manning was a dancer, innovator and choreographer. He is
known to be the innovator of adding the aerial moves to Lindy Hop and for most of his lifetime he
was an unofficial Ambassador of Lindy Hop. Frankie started off touring as a dancer and
choreographer with Whitey s Lindy Hoppers in the 30 s and 40 s. Since then Frankie Manning has
been credited for inventing the Lindy Hop. Whitey is known for creating the Whitey s Lindy Hoppers,
a dance troupe of professional dancers he recruited from the Savoy Ballroom where he worked as a
bouncer. With his dance troupe, they traveled spreading swing dance throughout America creating
dance history. Also part of Whitey s Lindy Hoppers, Norma danced at the savoy ballroom where she
got discovered and ever since being discovered was in the business as a swing dancer. Norma Miller is
one of the most famous swing dancers, and she is so popular that she was credited with the name of
The Queen of Swing. These pioneers helped create, develop, and spread the art of swing throughout
the nation and preserved the true origins of swing and with their stories we learn the history of

Examples Of Superpowers In Unbreakable
Many kids were asked when they were little who their hero was. The same kids would answer with
their elders, never with a fictional superhero. A superhero is defined as a benevolent fictional character
with superhuman powers, such as Superman. The argument of the movie, Unbreakable, directed by M.
Night Shyamalan, is whether or not David Dunne has superpowers. Dunne is considered to have
superpowers due to his extreme capability of strength. Dunne has miraculous strength in situations
involving life or death. This is first apparent to viewers when Dunne appears in the hospital after a
high speed train crash. Dunne is shown as the only survivor. It becomes apparent that he is unusual
from this point on. He survived through grace. Ironically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

High Dynamic Range Of A Digital Photography Technique
2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple
exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image
editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a
scene, image or imaging device is deļ¬ned as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal
level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range
of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using
floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern display devices have
limited dynamic rage for displaying HDR image, so tone mapping technique have been used to solve
this problem. Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range
image that will be displayed on devices. The tone mapping operators can be classiļ¬ed into two
categories: global operators and local operators. Global operators can be described as spatially
uniform methods because the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR
image. Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and preserve the intensity
orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped
images. Local operators, which reproduce the tonal values in a spatially variant manner because

Positive And Negative Effects Of Dictatorships
I have always found the human need for power and domination interesting, which is why I choose it
for the Research Project. I am interested about how the Dictatorial style of government affects the
overall growth of the humanities globally. My goal for this project is to research and understand the
positive and negative effects of dictatorships on the academic growth as well as growth in the
humanities. There are clear negative effects like the loss of literature in countries such as Germany,
where specific types of book from certain eras were burned. In addition to that there are positives such
as leaders focusing on education more than other areas of government spending. The paper that would
be written using the information gathered through research on this topic would be persuasive, arguing
that though there are some positive effects, dictatorships have an overall negative impact on intellect
and the humanities.
My working research question is: Are the net effects of dictatorships on the areas of the humanities
including art and literature as well as academics as a whole positive or negative? My corresponding
thesis statement is: On the grounds of global loss of art and literature as well as suffering academics,
dictatorships have a negative effect on the country they govern as well as the world as a whole. I will
research historical occurrences of dictatorships globally. In addition to that I will research the effects
on academics in specific countries. I will also

Lexus and the Olive Tree Summary
The Lexus and the Olive Tree, written by Thomas L. Friedman, investigates the phenomenon of
globalization in our world and how it has established a new international system that has replaced the
cold war. This new system of globalization connects people from all over the world from Southeast
Asians fighting a recession to Thai bankers to entrepreneurs in the United States. Friedman credits that
the democratization of technology, information, and finance has shrunk our world from small to tiny
where people all over the world can now transfer information cheaper, deeper, and faster. The walls
that once separated our world have now been torn down with the development of the Internet and the
television.

can t resist, such as transparency, standards, free press, corruption, bond and stock markets, and
democratization. Chapter 10 questions your company or countries connectivity based on productivity
and explains how the evernet is now exploding across the country. Chapter 11 goes over some
questions to evaluate to see where your company or country stands, such as the growth, the weight,
and the brand.
Chapter 12 dives into the theory of conflict prevention using the analogy of McDonalds. He states that
as of 1999, no two countries that both had McDonalds had fought a war against each other and that the
only three Middle Eastern countries that do not currently have a McDonalds are Syria, Iran, and Iraq.
Section two ends with the Demolition Man in chapter 13 and The Winner Takes All in chapter 14. The
demolition man is basically the danger that because globalization is moving so fast and with such
force, it could wipe out the ecological and cultural diversity that took millions of years to produce. It
also explains that the gap between the winner and the loser is getting even bigger because of the
effects of globalization.
The two chapters in section three are dealing with the backlash and the groundswell. The backlashers
consist of those who feel threatened by globalization because they can t keep and therefore

Tony Smith Die Analysis
Die, made in 1968, is a minimalist sculptural artwork by renowned American artist Tony Smith. Smith
had originally prototyped the sculpture in 1962, when he made a six inch cardboard model, but he did
not have Die fabricated until 1968. The final format of Die is a six foot cube of quarter inch hot rolled
steel that is held together by internal steel bracing. To have it created, Smith worked with the
Industrial Welding Company in Newark, New Jersey, which owes to its rusty, industrial external
appearance. As one of first steel sculptures, it went on to inspire much of his later work. During
exhibitions, the 500 pound steel Die sits on the floor, inviting patrons to walk around it and view it
from one or more sides at a time. As Smith explained,

Western Medicine focuses on dealing with the symptoms of the disease in many cases and treatment
suppresses these, rather than curing the problem. This can lead to a lifetime need for drug therapy.
A one size fits all approach if you are diagnosed with a particular condition you will be prescribed a
particular type of Drug e.g. if you have raised cholesterol you will probably be given a stronger.
Dosing and regimen is standardized this is ok for the majority of patients. But you may fall outside the
norm and therefore the treatment doesn t work as well for you or you have tolerability problems.
Treatment with conventional medicine in many countries is very expensive and without access to
health insurance can be out of the reach of many. Even in countries where there is free access to health
care, certain Drugs or treatments may not be available, due to the local health care services being
unable to pay for them.
The modern focus on disease and the time and other pressures many physicians are under means that
sometimes the patient can feel like they are on a treatment treadmill and not being listened to.
Alternative Medicine The Pros
Most alternative medicine practices work to restore balance to the body. This allows the body to heal
itself. This holistic approach can often impact positively on other aspects of the patient s life.

Jesus Is Not Ashamed And Call You Brother
Jesus is not ashamed to call you brother. Let that sink in a little. Don t rush past that sentence. You.
With everything you thought about yesterday (yeah, he heard those thoughts) and the temptations to
which you yielded (yeah, he saw that too). Yes, you, struggling Christian. Jesus is not ashamed to call
you brother (or sister).
As I recently read Hebrews, I was struck in a fresh way with the power of this reality. Jesus is not
ashamed to be associated with me. And not simply in a friend sort of way or even a servant sort of
way. The Bible says that Jesus calls me friend and servant but it also says more. His pride of
association with me is on the familial level. He is not ashamed that I am a part of his family. But not
only is he not ashamed of me, he delights in me. The writer of Hebrews goes on later to say that it was
for the joy set before him that he endured the cross. What was that joy set before him? It was me. And
it was you. Brothers and sisters added to the family of God that they might reign with Him in the new
heavens and the new earth. When Jesus looks at us, he is proud.
But I fear that while we would all check the box and say we believe this truth, in practice we fail to
live out its implications.
Personal Implications
Too many Christians walk through life as if the Gospel is not true. When we sin, we rightly feel the
conviction of the Holy Spirit. And rather than boldly coming before the throne of grace in our time of
need, we cower and shrink

How Did The Atomic Bomb Affect Society
On the 6th August 1945 the Enola Gay, a USA warplane, dropped an atomic bomb (called the Little

The bomb exploded at around 580 m above the ground with the equivalent power of 15 kilotons of
TNT. Sixty six thousand people died instantly from the heat and impact of the bomb. Three days later,
on the 9th August, the US decided to drop a second and bigger atomic bomb (called the Fat Man ), on
the Japanese city of Nagasaki. The Fat Man had an equivalent power of 20 kilotons of TNT, causing

Beauty In Marigolds, By Eugenia Collier
In the short story, Marigolds, by Eugenia Collier, the theme that is shown through the story is, Beauty
can be found even in the darkest times. An example of this theme is represented through Lizabeth s

The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the
midst of ugliness and sterility. She had been born in squalor and lived in it all her life (Collier 223).

The marigolds symbolizes beauty throughout the story. The time period of the story was during the
Great Depression, from 1929 39, and as the text describes it, The Depression that gripped the nation

214). This represents how life must ve been during the time, with every man and women depressed
and silent. However, Lizabeth still remembers, through all the bland memories of brown dust, the
vivid memory of Miss Lottie s marigolds. She recalls the marigolds as, ...a brilliant splash of sunny
yellow against the dust... (Collier 213). This symbolizes the beauty and significance that Miss Lottie s
marigolds had towards Lizabeth s time during the Great Depression. In such way, through the haze of
darkness, shines the beauty of Miss Lottie s marigolds. In conclusion, in the short story, Marigolds, the

A Single Story Analysis
When Adichie refers to a single story, she is describing that a person or group of people may be
disillusioned due to their lack of exposure to other perspectives and ideas. For instance, Adichie states
that when she read American and European storybooks as a child, all of the characters were of the
white race and exemplified white characteristics, leading to an ignorant and close minded depiction of
the world. Moreover, when Adichie began reading African literature, she found that people like me,
girls with skin the color of chocolate, whose kinky hair could not form ponytails, could also exist in
literature (Adichie 1:07). This illustrates that in both African and European literature, characterization
is limited to the demographics known to the writers, the story is restricted based on one s viewpoint.
Furthermore, the danger in simply reading or writing a single story is that over time, a person, or
group of people, can become bias due to their lack of exposure to cultural and ethnical diversity. For
example, Adichie describes that when she met the family of Fide, her houseboy, and saw that one of
Fide s brothers had woven a beautiful basket she was taken aback because it had become impossible
for me to see them as anything else but poor. Their poverty was my single story for them (Adichie
3:43). This seemingly minor misconception exposes Adichie to the dangers of following a single story
, a reality check which changed her perception of the world. Furthermore, the

Anne Bradstreet Beliefs
Faith and God are tendencies in several of Anne Bradstreet s poems. She epitomizes God as an
equitable force in life that commands humans and their hindmost faith. In her poem, Anne Bradstreet
depicts how sensibility in one s mind can be heavily disturbed by material dispossession even when
God is our principal concern in life, and no matter how devout the person is. The sudden impact of her
house burning down with her possessions was a very harsh one. We can realize her struggle and pain
through the event by how her poem reflects with grief and sorrow, in lines 8 10, she begs God not to
leave her helpless. Even though her pain is not relieved quickly, we can see how her faith in God gives
her strength and hope for something better, and she acknowledges God as an unbiased ruler that will
reward pure people in the afterlife. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She demonstrates us that immense personal losses are hard to confront, but that at the closure of our
lives, these items turn out to be worthless and that nothing can correlate to what God has for us in
Heaven, this proven by line 36, Adieu, Adieu, all s vanity , and line 38 where she questions the true
value (nothing) of these losses. Afterwards she falls into details about the gift we can all receive if we
have pure hearts that deserve it. We can see a comparison of a house in heaven to a house in Earth, and
two profound differences the house on heaven had were that it was created by the Architect or

  • 2. Was Tsar Nicholas Emperor Unfit Tsar Nicholas II of Russia: An Emperor Unfit to Rule Ravaged Russia At the end of the nineteenth century, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia reluctantly took command of an empire overflowing with revolutionaries who were seeking change in response to hardships that their nation was facing. His timid personality, coupled with his lack of political education and military experience, made him unfit to calm the war fueled chaos that would soon envelop Russia. Nicholas series of unfortunate, unprepared and uninformed decisions began with his marriage and eventually ended with his decision to abandon the capital to lead his armies, ultimately leading to the demise of his imperial family s three hundred year dynastic tradition. The turn of the century illuminated Russia, commonly labeled as backwards by the other European powers, as the last remaining European autocracy. Russian society still operated on the estate system, which was characterized by an enormous gap between the upper class nobility and the lower class peasantry. Peasants comprised eighty percent of the population and only a fraction were educated. They had little understanding of government and were highly patriarchal. Many served as serfs. It was not until the 1860s that these serfs were freed from legal bondage by Nicholas grandfather, Alexander II. However, this was not enough to satisfy Russian citizens newfound taste of freedom. In the years following, they demanded he establish an elected parliament, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on Amillennialism Amillennialism Amillenianism literally means no millennium. This name stems from the disbelief that there will be a literal thousand year period called the golden age, either before or after the return of Christ (Gregg 459). This view unlike the others, is not a new concept, even though the name is new. In fact, R.B. Strimple claims this particular view has been around as long as Christianity (83). Amillennialists generally assume that all millennium prophecies are fulfilled in between the first and the second coming of Christ (Gregg 459). The time subsequent to the first coming and prior to the second coming is known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Believing that the two resurrections in Revelation 20:4 6 are occring at the same time is blasphemy and heretical in my opinion. This passage clearly confims a different timing for each, first resurrection at the first coming, second resurrection at the second coming. This alone makes me mad. Along with the resurrection wickedness, amillenialists will disagree with the thousand year reign on earth. Revelation 20:3 speaks about Satan being locked away in the abyss so that he cannot tempt or deceive the nations earth. I personally believe that God will reign in both heaven and on earth during the thousand year period. Dispensational Premillennialism Dispensationalism is a period of time during which man is tested in respect to his obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God (Pentecost 391). There are three components of dispensationalism that I need to go over before I get deeper into the theology of it; first, dispensationalism consistently interprets the Bible literally. I have found that other views go literal and symbolic, depending on the subject, but not dispensationalism. Second, dispensationalism distinguishes between the church and Israel. This kind of approach allows us to understand that at one time, God was dealing with Israel, but now He is dealing with the church, and one day He will deal with Israel again. Lastly, dispensationalism has to do with understanding God s ultimate purpose; that is, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Examples Of Love At First Sight Essay Is Love at First Sight Possible? Love at first sight is the experience of starting to be in love with someone as soon as you see them for the first time. To a large extent, love at first sight is possible to start a relationship but not possible to maintain a relationship in a long run. Love at first sight involve passion, which is recognized as one of the components of love. Eros, one of the six love style suggested by John Alan Lee (1976) in the color wheel theory of love, is defined as passionate love. Strong physical and/or emotional attraction is the basis of such kind of love style. Later research on this theory of love by Clyde and Susan Hendrick (1986) also suggested six love attitude scales using factor analysis, supporting the existence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Study shown that couples who want to make their relationship permanent (e.g. through marriage) tend to have higher level of commitment than passion, while couples who never thought to make their relationship permanent tend to have higher level of passion (Gonzaga, Turner, Keltner, Campos, 2006). This shows that commitment is a much important factor when transforming people s bonding to a long term relationship, but not passion. Even if dating couples are married base on the infatuation, such passionate love may not last long. As love at first sight is a kind of love that only involves intense passion, people may idealize their partner when getting along with each other (Ben Ze ev, 2000), which means people are often in love with the idealized image but not the real one. However, such situation may not hold long. Study found that the amount of passion between couples who had intensely passionate courtships decline very quickly over the first twenty four months after reaching the peak level due to marriage (Niehuis, Reifman, Feng, Huston, 2014). Once the passion fade and the couple still did not develop sufficient level of intimacy and commitment, which is an important factor for long term relationship (Sternberg, 2007), to maintain their bonding, the couple may divorce. These research studies reflect that although love at first sight has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Psychoanalytic Theory Of Human Development Psychoanalytic Theory Psychoanalytic Theory is a theory of human development that holds that irrational, unconscious drives and motives, often originating in childhood, underlie human behavior. It is thought to influence every aspect of thinking and behavior, from the smallest details of life to the crucial choices of a lifetime. Sigmund Freud is an Austrian physician who believed the stages of human development were characterized by sexual pleasure centered on a particular part of the body. Oral Stage (Birth to 1 year) In infancy, everything the child gets a hold of goes to their mouth. The lips, tongue, and gums are the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. They love to suck on their fingers or pacifier majority of the time, even in their sleep. Anal Stage (1 3 years) The anal is the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. During this time children are beginning toilet training. They are now able to interpret when they need to use the restroom and able to communicate to the parents when they need to go. Phallic Stage (3 6 years) During this stage, the penis is the most important body part, and pleasure is derived from genital stimulation. This is the time when they begin to discover their genitals, girls may ask questions while on the other hand, boys may feel a sense of pride. Latency (6 11 years) During this age of development sexual needs quieten down and children begin to focus on social activities with friends. Genital ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Personal Interest Project Analysis The way society shapes the way that individuals see people who have a disability is what my Personal Interest Project is about. It is on the way that individuals see people with a disability and whether or not this is base around other people in society s ideas. People often come to conclusions based on family expectations and their views towards something, views within the community for example peers impact thoughts and values and play a major role in each others views. The reason for this topic choice is due to having a huge interest in this field and wanting to do something that was different and that would relate across a broad number of my subjects. This PIP is going to show how society impacts on people s thoughts and changes the way things are seen and thought about. Society has a strong impact on what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These included an interview and I also handed out questionnaires as part of my primary research. As for my secondary research I conducted analysis of data from varied resources such as the internet, magazines and previous PIP s. The reason for conducting an interview was so that I was able to get emotions, body language, thoughts and opinions first hand from a parent/carer s point of view. This information however may be slightly bias because they were her daughters therefore I had to go through it very carefully being aware of this. An interview was a good choice because it gave me an idea of what both the carer and the dependent go through. Questionnaires were chosen because it is easy to give out, collect and collate. They can give bulk statistical responses which is what was needed. The responses were quite helpful and it was a very sufficient way to gather data. Data analysis was used for a lot of this PIP because I needed to gather information about the different types of disabilities that people can have. JAPANESE STRATEGIC FAILURES IN THE SPRING OF 1942 Essay After successfully executing operations in the Southeast and the Southwest Pacific by the spring of 1942, what should Japan have done next? I can run wild for six months ... after that, I have no expectation of success. Unconfirmed quotation attributed to Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander in Chief Japanese Combined Fleet. Setting the stage Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is believed to have foretold of the suffering that was to befall Japan, and in fact was said to have argued heavily against waking a sleeping giant. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even in the years leading up to the war, Japan s military believed in the superiority of their technology and personnel. For instance, even when Japanese naval leaders correctly perceived the shift of carrier based aircraft becoming the predominant offensive capability, they made the error of believing that American naval air would never be a worthy opponent. 2 pg. 359 Once success is tasted, the possibility of failure becomes less believable. The Japanese were able to move so swiftly in the Pacific in the first 6 months of war that they seemingly believed that they could continue uncontested indefinitely. Once again, as in their early victories in the Russo Japanese War over three decades earlier, Japan possessed in the stronger hand at the outset of conflict, because they were the initiators the conflict and had the capability to plan for all of the moves they would make at the outset. Their opponents in both wars were initially left with no choice but to only be able to react to Japanese attacks, and in only limited fashion were the opponents able to turn the tables and force the Japanese to react. An example of being able to turn the tables was the April 1942 Doolittle raid, which forced the Japanese to change their operational plan to one of requiring the destruction of the U.S. carrier fleet. All over the world, tourists venture this billion dollar cooperation and have never thought their business strategy to keep them profitable every year. With all the fun it comes, it has a big price tag to operate these liners. But, their current strategy will eventually decline if the cooperation does not implement new ways to keep the company successful. In the recent years, the Carnival was a successful cruise lines that ventured around the world. It was a two company competitive market of only Carnival and Royal Caribbean; which Carnival was the largest in the industry. Carnival has 6 corporations headquartered Globally and 10 Sub Cruise lines that are owned by Carnival. Carnival branded and marketed in every country by allowing their cruise lines offered many amenities to cruise around the trans antic seas. Carnival was the highest in productivity until Norwegian, Disney, MSC cruises, started to brand their opportunities and offerings, that declined the market of Carnival. The Cruise lines North American market share in 2011 was at a 52.9% for Carnival. In addition, 51.6 % World Wide Cruise Market share which is impressive, but can use improvement. Whereas, performing crunches every second day gives me time to recover from my previous workout and still progress with myself to attain my goal. • 11. The Christian Worldview Of The Holy Bible The term worldview refers to an accumulation of core beliefs, which influence the understanding man has of the world. Because a worldview refers to individual beliefs, everyone s worldview is different. The Christian worldview is based off of the Holy Bible, and because of that, God shapes the way Christians understand the world around them. However, the Bible is not the only influence that Christians are exposed to, and they must constantly monitor their worldview to be certain that it does not stray from the truth in God s Word. If Christians are able to identify some key beliefs that are in the Bible, it can make the task of monitoring their worldview easier. The beginning of the Bible, the Creation, is one of these foundational beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A recurring idea called Gnostism is an example of flawed theology which can be exposed by the Creation story. The Gnostics claimed that the one true God is too high and pure to be contaminated by our lower, physical reality. . . Thus, when Gnostics read the Old Testament, they concluded that the God presented there must be an inferior god. (Wittmer) The story of Creation reminds Christians of how the world should be, well and good, and can help to paint a clearer picture of what the restored earth will be like. The Gnostic ideas are valid only if God created an imperfect world. Christians know, because of the Creation story, that God created a perfect world. Christianity, like its parent faith, Judaism, embraced what he [N. T. Wright] and others called creational monotheism. They affirmed the goodness of creation and of God s continual activity within creation. Thus, for them, salvation was not a matter of being delivered from the material world to a state of disembodied bliss, but instead, a restoration of God s intended order for the creation. • 12. Funeral Rites Of Misenus The introduction of Misenus into the beginning Book VI of the Aeneid demonstrates the Roman belief that a dead body brings pollution: both physically and spiritually. In order to combat this Aeneas is instructed to carry him to his place of rest and lay him in a tomb. Then you must bring black cattle to begin purification . This purification ritual exemplifies the notion that a dead body brings pollution to the community it is found within. The in depth funeral rites described in Book VI in regards to Misenus exemplify the modern Roman belief and rituals regarding death. First they lit a large pyre with Misenus armour placed on top. Secondly they heated water cauldrons to wash and anointed his body and then placed him in his familial purple robes: further exemplifying the importance of body purification. Then there are descriptions of lighting the pyre and offerings being burnt: incense, sacrificial food, and bowls filled with oil. The ashes are then cooled with wine and placed in a bronze casket that is then carried around the comrades thrice. Finally, in this description, a mound is made and in this case called Mount Misenus: a lasting memory. The funeral rites of Misenus demonstrate important, modern, roman qualities. In the Bronze Age, when the myth of Aeneas is set, traditions toward burial and death were different. The fact that Virgil depicts this ancient, mythological funeral in an Augustan Rome manner exemplifies the importance of this burial, thus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper I will discuss Steve, who has recently joined a church. The church doctrine is such that members are to reveal indiscretions from their past. Steve has told them of some of his indiscretions but Steve is not happy about this and decides he would rather leave the church. It would be easier to pursue actions if what Steve disclosed something such as armed robbery or any number of felonies in which case the church may feel the need to notify the police. Had he told them of his pension to jay walking it would not hold as much weight if any. It should be noted that in this case should not be considered intentional intrusion invasion of privacy. The reasoning for this would be that when we discuss this tort it should be noted that this involves delving into an individual s private life or thoughts and being unauthorized. If however the church had gotten ahold of Steve s information from listening in on his conversations with members of the church. It should also be noted that tort of appropriation is not a factor as well. The explanation for this is that the individual involved did not consent to his/her use of their picture or likeness or even their name for any type of personal gain. According to the definition of expectation of privacy which is you expect privacy as society agreeing with you, Steve would not really be entitled as a result of the church not saying in words that privacy would be given. I think that Steve naturally thought that a church would keep his indiscretions to themselves. I think that the majority of people would be inclined to think the same however it is never safe to assume anything. A good example of an expectation of privacy could be in the Catholic Church. The finding and gathering of food consumed long hours of the average person s life through ration cards and queques. The search and the worship of food was an integral part of life to all people from the general public to the Resistance Fighters. Food is a necessity of all life, for the Nazi Germans it was a tool to control the Vichy French Regime and people as the daily hunted for food and reveled in eating it. As Germany invaded France, it relieved the former government and the Vichy Regime of its control of the food supply and duties of caring for the well being of the people. Borrelia bacteria remain localised in the area of the bite before subsequent inflammatory responses cause vasodilation allowing Borrelia to disseminate throughout the host s body (Pachner Steiner, 2007). Immune evasion mechanisms Across the three main strains of Borrelia, on average 8% of coding DNA in their genome is devoted purely towards synthesizing surface lipoproteins (Pal Fikrig, 2003). This large allocation and subsequent recombination allows Borrelia change the expression of their outer surface proteins (Osp) as well as the variable major protein like sequence (vls) almost instantly, preventing the immune system from developing a specific response (Stewart et al., 2005). An example of this is OspA, which is extremely immunogenic, is down regulated once tick feeding has begun and then increased again after Borrelia has infected the nervous system (Fallon et al., 2010). It is a point of view that justifies itself by a whole hearted acceptance of the worst of Neo Darwinism, the Allmacht of natural selection applied rigorously to human life and society and Kultur (p.22, Headquarters Nights by Vernon Kellogg). In the years following World War I, the Social Darwinist movement lost some of its momentum due to the unpopularity of Germany s Neo Darwinism. Support for an individualistic and nationalistic based Social Darwinism died and was replaced by the state enforced Social Darwinism of eugenics. Despite the widespread Christian attack on Darwinian tenets, Christians did not fight the eugenics movement in an effective way. Eventually, even legislatures controlled by Christians fell to the false promises of eugenics. Despite poignant criticism of eugenics among scientists in the United States, more than 30,000 individuals were forcibly sterilized. In an ironic twist of fate, the Nazis Party s adoption of American Eugenics programs led to the virtual extinction of Social Darwinism in the United States. • 26. High Dynamic Range Of A Digital Photography Technique 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is deļ¬ned as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern display devices have limited dynamic rage for displaying HDR image, so tone mapping technique have been used to solve this problem. Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range image that will be displayed on devices. The tone mapping operators can be classiļ¬ed into two categories: global operators and local operators. Global operators can be described as spatially uniform methods because the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR image. Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and preserve the intensity orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped images. This story tells about true life. It tells about lying, crime, murder, and deceit. To sum it all up Tell Tale Heart is appropriate for my age. The first reason why Tell Tale Heart is appropriate is because it teaches you a lesson. It teaches you a lesson by showing you that everything that is done in the dark comes to the light. That the first reason why the Tell Tale Heart is appropriate for middle school students. Another reason Tell Tale Heart is appropriate is because it is a lesson to younger kids. • 35. Jesus Is Not Ashamed And Call You Brother Jesus is not ashamed to call you brother. Let that sink in a little. Don t rush past that sentence. You. With everything you thought about yesterday (yeah, he heard those thoughts) and the temptations to which you yielded (yeah, he saw that too). Yes, you, struggling Christian. Jesus is not ashamed to call you brother (or sister). As I recently read Hebrews, I was struck in a fresh way with the power of this reality. Jesus is not ashamed to be associated with me. And not simply in a friend sort of way or even a servant sort of way. The Bible says that Jesus calls me friend and servant but it also says more. His pride of association with me is on the familial level. He is not ashamed that I am a part of his family. But not only is he not ashamed of me, he delights in me. The writer of Hebrews goes on later to say that it was for the joy set before him that he endured the cross. What was that joy set before him? It was me. And it was you. Brothers and sisters added to the family of God that they might reign with Him in the new heavens and the new earth. When Jesus looks at us, he is proud. But I fear that while we would all check the box and say we believe this truth, in practice we fail to live out its implications. Personal Implications Too many Christians walk through life as if the Gospel is not true. When we sin, we rightly feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit. And rather than boldly coming before the throne of grace in our time of need, we cower and shrink ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Beauty In Marigolds, By Eugenia Collier In the short story, Marigolds, by Eugenia Collier, the theme that is shown through the story is, Beauty can be found even in the darkest times. An example of this theme is represented through Lizabeth s thoughts after she tears apart Miss Lottie s marigolds. As Miss Lottie looms over Lizabeth, she thinks, The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the midst of ugliness and sterility. She had been born in squalor and lived in it all her life (Collier 223). This shows Lizabeth s realization that the witch she had known for all her childhood years was simply a woman who wanted to create beauty through her wretched condition. • 39. A Single Story Analysis When Adichie refers to a single story, she is describing that a person or group of people may be disillusioned due to their lack of exposure to other perspectives and ideas. For instance, Adichie states that when she read American and European storybooks as a child, all of the characters were of the white race and exemplified white characteristics, leading to an ignorant and close minded depiction of the world. Moreover, when Adichie began reading African literature, she found that people like me, girls with skin the color of chocolate, whose kinky hair could not form ponytails, could also exist in literature (Adichie 1:07). This illustrates that in both African and European literature, characterization is limited to the demographics known to the writers, the story is restricted based on one s viewpoint. Furthermore, the danger in simply reading or writing a single story is that over time, a person, or group of people, can become bias due to their lack of exposure to cultural and ethnical diversity. For example, Adichie describes that when she met the family of Fide, her houseboy, and saw that one of Fide s brothers had woven a beautiful basket she was taken aback because it had become impossible for me to see them as anything else but poor. Their poverty was my single story for them (Adichie 3:43). This seemingly minor misconception exposes Adichie to the dangers of following a single story , a reality check which changed her perception of the world. Furthermore, the ... • 40. Anne Bradstreet Beliefs Faith and God are tendencies in several of Anne Bradstreet s poems. She epitomizes God as an equitable force in life that commands humans and their hindmost faith. In her poem, Anne Bradstreet depicts how sensibility in one s mind can be heavily disturbed by material dispossession even when God is our principal concern in life, and no matter how devout the person is. The sudden impact of her house burning down with her possessions was a very harsh one. We can realize her struggle and pain through the event by how her poem reflects with grief and sorrow, in lines 8 10, she begs God not to leave her helpless. Even though her pain is not relieved quickly, we can see how her faith in God gives her strength and hope for something better, and she acknowledges God as an unbiased ruler that will reward pure people in the afterlife. ... She demonstrates us that immense personal losses are hard to confront, but that at the closure of our lives, these items turn out to be worthless and that nothing can correlate to what God has for us in Heaven, this proven by line 36, Adieu, Adieu, all s vanity , and line 38 where she questions the true value (nothing) of these losses. Afterwards she falls into details about the gift we can all receive if we have pure hearts that deserve it. We can see a comparison of a house in heaven to a house in Earth, and two profound differences the house on heaven had were that it was created by the Architect or God(line 44) and that it was eternal(line ...
