The Japanese Political System
From the Meiji Restoration era, democratization efforts were undertaken to modernize Japan. A
bicameral system of legislature as well as local, though unelected assemblies were created in the
image of the Prussian model (Haddad, 2012, p. 50) and a Constitution placing absolute power with
the monarch was formed. Although the main intention of the oligarchs behind the Constitution was
to have the national Diet as an advisory body, they created a series of transcendental cabinets which
answered to the Emperor (Haddad, 2012, p. 50), Bureaucrats were important tools during this period

David Miescher Essay
Deoxyribonucleic acid or its more common name DNA is the hereditary material that makes up
all humans and living organisms. DNA is an incredibly complex molecule that acts as an
instruction book for cells. This molecule was discovered in the late 1800 s by a Swiss biochemist
named Friedrich Miescher. Miescher isolated analyzed and recognized DNAas a unique
macromolecule. Johannas Friedrich Miescher was born in 1844 to a distinguished scientific
family. In college, Miescher studied medicine but after his graduation in 1868, he decided to
pursue physiological chemistry. This was due to a hearing impairment caused by a severe attack
of typhoid fever. In 1869, he stayed at the laboratory of Felix Hoppe Seyler. By combining his
knowledge of medicine and organic chemistry he isolated and chemically characterized DNA. At
the time of this discovery, many believed that cells were largely made of proteins. Miescher
contradicted this opinion by noting that the presence of something that cannot belong among any
of the proteinsubstances known hitherto . He showed that this substance was derived from the
nucleus of the cellalone and, therefore, named it nuclein . He then went on to prove that nuclein
was present in many cells and contained phosphorous carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. These findings
were so revolutionary that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Youth International Party Research Paper
The Youth International party was an American activism group, born out of the anti war movement,
concerned with civil rights. The Youth International Party has also been referred to as Yippies, who
are now known for their theatrical style of collective action during the sixties. The group mainly
consisted of hippies, counterculture revolutionist, political workers, and activists. The Yippies
harbored collective action by using elements of performance to demonstrate their cause. In 1967 to
1968, Yippies constructed multiple street demonstrations in protest of the United Statesmilitary
involvement in the Vietnam War. The group was founded by Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, two
men that became a symbol for radical activism. The group was founded by the two activist in 1968.
Yippies goal for these performances were, protesting Johnson s Vietnam policy, argued for an end
to the draft, and made the case for a different kind of American society, one based not on capitalism
but cooperation. (Shawyer 2008: 14) Yippies strategies were to use street theatre to create an
experience to draw attention to America and communicate that the average American did not have

All Summer Long Book Report
My book was unbelievable and incredibly good! The book title for my amazing and wonderful
book is All Summer Long by Melody Carlson. The genre of this book is a romance, it is very sweet
and all about trying to find love. My book was written in 2016. So it s practically new! It s so new
that it hasn t been analyzed for a Lexile number yet. The audience for this bookis a mature group
because it is a romantic book and about love. I think fifth grade and through any other age would
be appropriate. My rating for this book would be five stars because it was a well written and
executed book. It was very sweet, but suspenseful at the same time and always left me wanting

The Mission Station Of Spain
The main theme of the story in the mission is about a group of Jesuits who established a mission
station around the borderland of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil around 1750. Meanwhile, they
converted the local Indians to Christianity. At the end, Cardinal Altamirano ordered Jesuits to
leave the mission. Without the protection of the church, the local Indians were killed or slaved by
Portuguese. The script of the movie was written from a real historic event in 1754 1756, the
Guarani War, which Guarani communities defend their homeland against Spanish Portuguese for
almost three years. The fuse of the war was ignited by the Treaty of Madrid in 1750, which was
signed by the king of Spain and Portugalto completely determine the border between Spain and
Portugal in South America by the area around Uruguay river. Around that time, the Jesuit mission
stations and the local Indians were growing rapidly both economically and regionally with their
outstanding plantations, which was much better than those in Portugal s own territory. As a
consequence, the Portuguese wanted to take over control the land and slave the Indians. They
forced the Catholic churchto dissemble their mission station and did the massacre right after they
leaved. The paradigm that director used was carefully selected. The story of the movie was told
from a vision of Cardinal Altamirano, who was writing a letter to the pop for explaining what had
happened. Within the story, the two main narratives were not on

New World History
Learning about Pocahontas in class made me very interested in the topic of Native Americans
coming over to The New World . I grew up learning that Native Americans were perfectly fine
with people coming over from England to conquer their land, as Disney casually depicts it. During
my research for the paper I watched The New World which was nothing like Disney s Pocahontas.
Even though they both were missing some key history elements. The New World was directed by
Terrence Malick, produced by Sarah Green, and the screenwriter was also Malick. The filmmakers
were pretty accurate with the big parts of the movie; I could imagine that these parts of the movie
were changed to make movie more exciting and entertaining. The film blends recorded... Show

So the props, costumes, sets, etc. were hand built for the film by these masters, utilizing native
woods, plants, leaves, metals, fabrics, etc. and working from historical writings and drawings,
and with the assistance of an advisory board consisting of more than a dozen archivists,
librarians, professors and others. The important recreation of Fort James was accomplished with
wood chopped out of growth in the actual Jamestown area, just as the English would have in
1607. All other elements clothing, makeup, hair designs, guns, swords, bows arrows, etc. were
constructed under Fisk s supervision from materials which would have been available to the
Indians and to the English colonists at that time (IMBD, 2). In the film, Fort James was actually
built on land off of Little Creek Dam Road in Toano, Virginia. The city of Werowocomoco was
built across the river in the Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area, which is a very beautiful
area. The agecroft hall in the movie is the real hall from the fifteenth century. It was transported
from Lanacashire to Windsor Farms on the James River in 1925. It is now also open to the public.

Colon Cancer Research Paper
Cancer is something that not only affects the person diagnosed with it, but also the people who
know them. When my grandmother got colon cancer in 2008, the family was distraught with the
news and didn t know how to react. After she had died from cancer in 2009, I wasn t aware of
exactly what kind of cancershe had and how the severity was. I didn t even know what each of
the stages meant. After I found out what kind of cancer she had, I still wasn t sure how it was
caused, what kind of effects it had, what kind of treatments she had, and if there was any way it
could ve been prevented. Although there isn t a precise reason as to what causes colon cancer,
there are several risk factors. Two of those risk factors are genetic mutations which are familial
adenomatous polyposis and hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer. Familial adenomatous
polyposis is an uncommon disorder which makes thousands of polyps develop along the lining of

For stage zero colon cancer patients, the cancer cells haven t spread past the inner lining of the
colon so surgery is the only thing needed. The surgery is usually done by polypectomy if the
tumor is small enough; if not, a colon resection, or colectomy is needed. By stage one of colon
cancer, the cells have spread throughout many layers of the colon, but not through the colon s walls
so surgery would only be needed to take out the part of the colon that has cancer or any lymph
nodes. Stage two and three treatments include more colectomy and chemotherapy and possibly
radiation treatments depending on how many cancer cells were removed. For stage four of colon
cancer, there is a small chance that surgery could remove the cancer cells since it could spread to
the liver, lungs, the lining of the abdominal cavity, or other lymph nodes. If the cancer is too
widespread, then colectomy or diverting colostomy might be

Essay on Gender and Music Preference
Gender and Music Preference There are so many different forms and genres of music that people
admire. Even older genres that have seemed to die out still have fans such as disco or polka.
Many researchers discuss why people favor the music that they do. This has been a popular
topic in music research considering how important music has become in everyday life. Music is
played in the car, on the internet, on cellphones, and even behind commercials on television. It is
hard to imagine a world without it. Now there are many reasons discussed about why people
prefer one kind of music over another, such as one s age. One s age could determine what music
was popular when they were a kid, or what genres they have been around to experience.... Show

Music genres can be split into categories for what genders are dominating the majority of their
listeners. Heavier music such as rap and rock seem to appeal more to a young male because of the
reoccurring themes of aggression and independence. Whereas lighter music normally involves
themes of emotion and love which a girl can better relate too. As mentioned above, I believe age,
ethnicity, culture, and genetics all play a role in musical preference, but gender should not be left
out. While some believe that music preference all belongs to the individual and not about fitting
into the generic stereotypes. I disagree and believe that gender does take part in the music selection
one makes.
Literature Review Kelly D. Schwartz and Gregory T. Fouts created a study set out to examine the
personality characteristics and developmental issues of three different groups of adolescent
music listeners. The first group analyzed was adolescent listeners who preferred light qualities of
music. The second group was those who preferred heavy kinds of music, and the last were for
those who preferred a wide range of music. One hundred and sixty four adolescents participated in
the study. The results of this research showed that each of the three music preference groups was
tended to demonstrate a unique profile of personality and developmental issues (2001), Susan A. O

The Internet Does Not Represent A Democratisation Of The...
The question that I considered writing about in my essay was The internet does not represent a
democratisation of the media because the online world mirrors the inequalities of the offline world
. The argument I am making is that the offline world does not mirror the inequalities of the online
world. The online world is a huge database that is used to engage emphasis of inequalities of the
offline world. This simply signifies discriminationas being notorious on the online world.
An example of this which I think is a big factor is internet equality, also known as Net Neutrality .
Net neutrality is the principle that all online traffic should be treated equally. If you are paying
for a certain speed of internet connection, you should be able to use that to its full potential all
the time, regardless of which website or service you are accessing. Right now you are paying
one price for your internet connection, companies do not have any right to dictate what you use
that internet for as they can only charge you for the internet itself, but if huge companies such as
Time Warner Cable and Comcast had their way, each month they would charge you extra to
watch Netflix or use Facebook on top of many already trying to impose bandwidth caps on how
much data you can download every month. To put it in to perspective similarly, it would be like a
water company charging you extra because you decided to use your water for coffee instead of the
laundry. The reason why the example

Iago s Disrespect In Othello

Othello is known as one of many of Shakespeare s plays that involve drama, romance and tragedies.
The protagonist, Othello has a complex relationship with the antagonist, Iago. Othello, a respectful
person who is honest and seems to easily believe others. Whereas, Iago, a selfish person who has
no respect for others. Iago s disrespect is shown throughout the play. Othello and Iago both have a

Throught the beginning of the play there were some clear evidence to emphasize Iago s hatred
for Othello. It all began when Othello chose Cassio a arithmetician to be his lieutenant instead
of him[Iago] (1.1.97,125). When Iago found out he became very frustrated that a person who is
good with numbers became Othello s lieutenant. This ultimately led to his hatred towards
Othello. Iago has also shown his hatred by using animals to describe Othello. Once Iago shouts
to Brabantio calling Othello an Old black ram and Barbary horse (1.1.4 5). In an effort to trying
to provoke Brabantio about Othello sleeping with his daughter. Iago is highly offensive and racist
towards his own leader. He also loathes Othello because he suspects that Othello leaped into [his]
seat (2.1.315 20). Iago heard rumors about his leader are having affair with on his very own wife
and becomes furious. This is significant because this caused him to want to take revenge by using

Now I will get into how courageous my grandmother is. When I was 8 months old my mother
and grandmother were walking back from the grocery store. When suddenly they were surrounded
by wild hunting dogs they must have smelled the raw meat in my grandmother bag. So my
grandmother took off running the opposite way of us to lead them away from us. The dogs

young to remember all this but she showed me the scars from the attack.
One day I and all the kids were outside playing and a huge snake crawled up on our porch. We
were terrified running, screaming, jumping, and throwing stuff at the snake. My grandmother was
so brave she went and picked up a shovel and cut the snakes head off; and that was the end of that.
Last but not least my Aunt Betty called my grandmother one day and she was very hysterical.
Her husband my Uncle Tim was punishing his dog King and out of nowhere King turned on him.
King bit his thumb off and was trying to bite Uncle Tim s throat. King would not calm down so

Yeats Poetry Analysis
The poetry of Yeats remains relevant because he examines both the local and universal through
heightened symbolism.
Discuss the accuracy of this view with detailed reference to AN IRISH AIRMAN FORESEES HIS
DEATH and other poems set for study.
Composers explore the local and universal to communicate their text s relevance to their world
using historical evidence and present day knowledge to inform responders about their struggles.
W.B Yeats examines the ideas of annunciation, the past and spiritualism within his world. Both
poems, An Irish Airman Foresees His Death and The Second
Coming, extrapolate, through heightened symbolism, the ideas of the past and the present and the
impact they have had on Ireland and Yeats. Throughout the poems Yeats references the spiritual
and historical issues existing within Yeats s world. As Louis Bogan (1938) states, We can trace in
Yeats, the continually enriched and undeviating course of an inspired man, suggests Yeats ontology
towards man and his existence.
Yeats s philosophies examine the historical and philosophical concepts and their effect on
immortality and the environment through his heightened use of analogies to convey his concerns
for his country and the wider world. Yeats s interest in our existence and purpose in life is
formed from the Greek philosopher, Plato. He believed in Plato s principle of immortality
whereby death is a separation from the soul of his body evident in his poem An Irish Airman
Foresees His Death.

Juxtaposition In Cold Blood
In Cold Blood and the Death Penalty Is the killing of certain people morally acceptable? In his
novel, In Cold Blood, Capote makes an argument about the death penalty. In Cold Blood, written
by Truman Capote, is a seemingly objective account of the Clutter murders of Holcomb Kansas.
Capote details both the lives of the Clutters and the lives of the two men involved in their murder.
In this novel Capoteargues against the death penalty using devices such as simile, metaphor,
juxtaposition, and. In the first passage of the book, Capote writes about the incident and the
resulting deaths. He writes At the time not a soul in sleeping Holcomb heard them four shotgun
blasts that, all told, ended six human lives (Capote 5). This is an example of juxtaposition because
it shows the contrast of the sleeping town and the tragedy that was occurring at the same time.
Capote uses this juxtaposition, not only to detail the nature of the crime, but also to make a subtle
argument about the case. After finding out that the Clutters have been murdered, the community is
shocked and horrified. They cannot sleep at night because of the fear that the... Show more content

Abstract : This paper looks at the intersection of cultural memory, war and literary narrative in
the specific context of the civil wars that raged Sri Lanka. It would consider the dynamics of
cultural memory of an ethnic minority group during a civil war. To achieve this , the paper would
attempt a close study of Shobasakthi , the Tamil Eelam writer s titular short story The MGR

War has many fall outs. Like the Nigerian poet John Pepper Clark Bekederemo states The
casualties are not only those who are dead . Literary writings have represented many facets of
war ranging from the great epics like The Mahabharatha to our postcolonial postmodern writings
on terrorism, genocide and exile. In order to understand the context of the narrative of
Shobasakthi s story , it is necessary to briefly consider the many trajectories of the Sri Lankan
civil war. Sometimes called the pearl of the Indian Ocean, meaning resplendent in Sinhala, once
described by travellers as a paradise and named by Arab seafarers as Serendib, Sri Lanka was what
an Eighteenth Century writer had in mind when he coined the word serendipity .However the
nation s gruesome and protracted civil wars have reduced these myriad nomenclatures to the
poignant Tear drop in the Indian Ocean. In the Sri Lankan context multiple historicisations, various
narratives of the same history occur since the nation is marked by a diversity of ethnic, religious
and linguistic identities. These include Sinhalese, Sri Lankan Tamils, Indian Tamils, Muslim
moors, Tamil Christians, and the Eurasian Burghers. Historians, political science scholars
Richardson, Stokke and others have located different reasons for the civil strife in Sri Lanka to
understand why and how simmering ethnic differences escalated into a full scale insurgency

The Importance Of Adaptation In Japanese Americans And...
Every human being, every animal, every plant has had to adapt in their life in order to survive.
Adaptation relates to everything, there is no life without adapting. The word adaptation means
modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions
of its environment: a heritable physical or behavioral trait that serves a specific function.
Adaptation is important because if Brent (The Burn Journals), the Japanese Americans, and
Temple Grandin didn t have adaptation they wouldn t have been able to live a normal life. One
way that someone might show adaptation in their life is when someone is born into a religious
family. They adapt to going to religious celebrations and don t think anything of it after they
have been doing it through their childhood. They have adapted to that certain schedule. There
are also different ways adaptation can be shown. The three examples from our literature will
show how they have used adaptation in parts of their life. In 1942 the Japanese Americans were
relocated because of their race. They had to adapt to a new way of life by realizing they had to
work harder to just live. Temple Grandin was an autistic young adult that was always moving.
Temple had to adapt to the new surroundings every time she moved to a new location. The Burn
Journals is about a boy, named Brent Runyon, and he tried to commit suicideby lighting himself on
fire. He had to adapt to a new way of life in hospitals and having no

Negative Visualization Oliver Burkeman Summary
In Oliver Burkeman s essay, The Benefits of Negative Visualization , he discusses how Negative
Visualization is more likely to make people happier than positive visualization. Burkeman supports
his argument by describing Ottogen s experiment and how one spends more time in thinking how
well things will go instead of achieving one s goal due to one s lack of motivation.

Body Imaging Influenced by Media Essay
It is no secret that today s society defines beauty as thin, long legged women with statuesque
bodies. Examples are found everywhere just by glancing at the closest magazine ads or by
scrolling down the latest fashion article online. Normal, everyday women are being forgotten and
tossed aside to make room for the Top Model like women currently crowding up Hollywood. Media
depicts women as an unattainable image. They pressure ladies to buy the products they re
advertising; luring them with false advertisements promising that with it, they too could be perfect.
While the media portrays women in a certain way for advertising and marketing benefits, it has
caused numerous negatives effects to women s self esteems nationwide, it contradicts... Show more

In 2004 a study was conducted of an analysis of popular children movies. It was proven that 60
percent of female characters were thin and it was presented as a positive female trait. Also, in
2004 where only five percent of the females in the United States were diagnosed as underweight,
30 percent were presented as underweight in the films. There are also numerous websites online
now geared towards pro anorexia. There are blogs out there specifically made to help people hide
and get away with their eating disorders. They perceive eating disorders as a healthy lifestyle
choice and encourage other women to follow in their footsteps. In 1954, Leon Festinger create the
Social Comparison Theory which hypothesized that people are impulsed to evaluate and compare
themselves to similar persons. That theory also stands true today, in 2013, with women everyday
comparing themselves to each other and celebrities they see onscreen. Research back ups the theory
that media parading the thin ideal hypothesizes lower self esteem, eating disorders, and the favoring
of comparing themselves to thin socialites.
The media pressures women to conform to the rail thin models they display on their ads, and are

The Central Dilemma Of Environmental Ethics
The central dilemma in environmental ethics is determining the value of nature: what kind of
value does it have, what aspects of the environment have value, and from what or whom does
environmental value ultimately derive? Many philosophers have proposed answers to these
inquiries, but every ethic is weak in one or more of these areas. Holmes Rolston III, an American
philosopher, preacher, and naturalist, has proposed a deontological argument that addresses each of
the key subjects in the debate surrounding the valuation of nature (Holmes Rolston III, 2016, para.
1 2, 4). Although several essential components of his case include numerous references to
macroevolution, an aspect with which Young Earth Christians would disagree, his ethic is logical,
well crafted, and on the whole aligns with a Biblical perspective of Creation. It would not seem at
first that a former Presbyterian pastor would be especially interested in the realm of environmental
philosophy, yet Rolston s environmental ethic is surprisingly elegant (Holmes Rolston III, 2016,
para. 2). His overall ideology can be summarized in the following statement: Values exist in the
world objectively apart from human choice or human or animal consciousness (Smillie, n.d., para.
1). Rolston s ethic is informed by teleology, from whence is derived his object with will argument.
This philosophy is based on the idea that all organisms have purpose in living, namely life itself;
thus, valueresides in the object with will

Supply Curve Between Price And Quantity
A market is a physical place where buyers and sellers come together in one place to transact with
each other. The demand curve shows the relation between price and quantity demanded other
things equal. The supply curve shows the relation between price and quantity supplied other
things equal. Where these meet is the equilibrium. This is the output where firms should
produce. A need is a necessity, something you can t do without. A good example is food. If you
don t eat, you won t survive for long. The market is mankind s most valuable tool for meeting the
needs of the people because only a market understands the needs and wants of customers, and
how these differ. They also understand the buying behaviour of customers (why, what and how
they buy) and the nature of demand in the market (how are prices set the factors that influence
the quantity of demand) A very good example for markets meeting mankind s needs is the
electronic market. They provide an easier way for start ups to enter a national market,
particularly if the business has identified a small niche segment of that market. They tend to be
highly price competitive since it is quite easy for customers to search for products from a variety
of suppliers and to compare the best prices available (just about every consumer goods market
has one or more price comparison website). They also provide things that we didn t even know
we needed for example mobile phones. Who knew 30 years ago mobile phones would have been

I myself am very dedicated to music and I love to play the piano and learn and play all types of
music. I remember when I was a little girl I would sneak out of classes and go to the music room
where there was a piano and just play all of her music. For me, it was a way to get away from
everything I was going through. Her music was deep and had meaning to every single word in
the lyrics. To me, that was all I needed. I would do research on her and see what she would be
doing and her interests and we were just interested in the same kinds of things. She was and
always will be my biggest idols. When I was younger, I always longed to go to her concert and
sit in the audience and just feel her music in me. By freshman year, I finally got tickets to see her
and it was the most amazing experience ever. It meant so much to me that I was actually in tears
while she was singing live and it felt so perfect. A few years later, my senior year, I went to go
see her again. And this time it was an even better feeling. Her drive and determination to help

Sumer, Southern Mesopotamia
writing is the physical manifestation of a spoken language. It is thought that human beings
developed language c. 35,000 BCE as evidenced by cave paintings from the period of the Cro
Magnon Man (c. 50,000 30,000 BCE) which appear to express concepts concerning daily life.
These images suggest a language because, in some instances, they seem to tell a story (say, of a
hunting expedition in which specific events occurred) rather than being simply pictures of animals
and people. Written language, however, does not emerge until its invention in Sumer, southern
Mesopotamia, c. 3500 3000 BCE. This early writing was called cuneiform and consisted of
making specific marks in wet clay with a reed implement. The writing system of the Egyptians
was already in use before the rise of the Early Dynastic Period (c. 3150 BCE) and is thought to
have developed from Mesopotamian cuneiform (though this theory is disputed) and came to be
known as heiroglyphics.

transference at this time between China and Mesopotamia. The ancient Chinese practice of
divination involved etching marks on bones or shells which were then heated until they cracked.
The cracks would then be interpreted by a Diviner. If that Diviner had etched `Next Tuesday it
will rain and `Next Tuesday it will not rain the pattern of the cracks on the bone or shell would
tell him which would be the case. In time, these etchings evolved into the Chinese script THE

Reflection On Winter
Narrative Self Reflection A large purpose of the narrative is to show the change a person must go
through in order to change long term habits, and the setting heavily reflects on that, because both
the character and the setting changed. It is set over the course of a year, which is shown through
lines such as flowers bloom , and it grows colder . It is also shown in the title of each poem, which
both corresponds to the season, and the stage of recovery the main characteris in. These help to
establish the setting, along with specific language choices. In my narrative, I used the metaphors of
different seasons to convey my message. In literature, winter traditionally symbolizes difficulty
and struggle, and it is used in the narrative to convey exactly that. The lines falling into darkness
/ it grows colder are representative of the winter approaching, however, it also acts as a metaphor
for his heart growing colder, and him feeling as if he is falling into darkness, which represents
mystery and fear. The tone of mystery and fear creates a somber mood, because the helplessness
he feels contributes to the fear he faces. The connotations associated with the seasons also apply to
the character. Springtime connotes feelings of rebirth and growth, just as he is growing as a
character. He refers to his family as my light . Light is often connoted with purity and goodness,
and he considers his family to be the light of his life. During the summer, the protagonist describes

crews with a visual indication in the cockpit of smoke or fire in the cargo compartments. The
airplane had a total of 26 smoke detectors. The main cargo compartment had 7 smoke detectors

around the globe have reached the lowest since 1973 and gas prices the world over are soaring,1
the world has turned back to the electric car.1 The electric car was endorsed by the United States

All Out War
Within war torn Europe, prior to World War II, various sentiments from World War I were still
being held not only by the governments of Europe but the citizens within them. These
sentiments caused Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, to bully the rest of Europe into submission so
that he could build his military up and unleash war like never before. Hitler used foreign policy
to complete his plans to destroy the Versailles treaty, rule and colonize the rest of Europe, and
exterminate all racial inferiors; such as Jews. Peace and trust between countries also began to
wither from discrete pacts being signed in fear of the Germans. The annexation of Sudetenland
from Czechoslovakia also was a significant event prior to an all out war. War was finally
unleashed by Hitler when the Polish, British, and French denied him access to Danzig and
railways throughout Poland. All these events combined would explain how World War II erupted
in Europe. For example, this all out war in Europe was first derived from Hitler s foreign policy

Manufactures also depended more on the customer, information technology, and the increase in the
use of technology in all parts of the economy. Companies such as FedEx, UPS, Airborne Express,
and USPS shipped parcels at a faster rate and were more reliable than other rail, motor, and water
carriers.
Trends and opportunities of the parcel service industry include globalization, e commerce, and
supply chain management. Internet logistics was FedEx and UPS s fastest growing business. The
internet enabled customers to link directly to retailers and their manufacturers. In 2001, parcel
carriers served almost all of the online market. They were able to provide information on packages
to customers through tracking systems on the web. This allowed customers to plan ahead and
decrease delays in deliveries. It also allowed for faster transactions and lower communication costs.
Parcel companies created partnerships with large Internet retailers. These partnerships allowed
parcel service companies to expand its overall delivery volume. Parcel companies improved tracking
by implementing several technological innovations. These included laser scanners and bar codes,
state of the art software programs, satellite and cell phone communication equipment, electronic

The Cultural Aspects Of Culture
Culture is a group of characteristics such as customs, beliefs and attitudes that groups of people
share within a certain geographic area. Different geographic locations have different norms and
cultures that are followed by the people that live in that specific location. That being said, religion
can be indigenous or non indigenous. Indigenous religions are religions that are native to a place.
Some good examples of indigenous religions are Shintoism, which is native to Japan, Christianity
which, originated in Rome and Islam, which is believed to be originated in Mecca. A couple
examples of non indigenous religionare Voodoo and New Age. Religions originate when people
that live close get together share their belief systems and can distinguish right from wrong. When
a religion is created the cultural rules get included in the religious rules. For example, in
Buddhism, nuns have way more rules that have to be followed than the priests. Buddhism is native
to India, and women in India are ruled and taken care of by the men. Primarily, the men in this
country have power over the women and it is believed that while creating these rules the culture and
norms were incorporated into it. Although, when studying religions it is good to have the
origination, it can be harmful as well. Studying religions can be biased because the people are so
drawn to the origin, that they might focus more on the cultural aspects. For example, some

Themes InBreaking Dawn, By Stephenie Meyer
In the book Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer there are many differences and similarities to
this other book The Elite by Kiera Cass. There are the difference of themes and the setting and the
characters in each book. They are shown by using dialogue and the description in the seperate
books. The book Breaking Dawn is the story that shows love between Bella and Edward only
growing deeper and more meaningful. In the book The Elite there is the main characterAmerica
Singer and how she is know really showing her true emotion to Maxon the prince.
During Breaking Dawn when you first start to read it, you know that it is a fantasy book and
this is something that is not true in The Elite, this book is based on the idea of Kings and
Queens but this is something that is more realistic and is may happen. But in some sense you
could say that this is a similarity and something that it true between each of the books. But one
of the many similarities is the strong theme in each of the books, that theme is love and love is
the one thing that almost of the characters in the book experience. Each of the characters are able
to feel the deep emotion that love holds. But the love is also different. It is shared between
different people and it is a different meaning to each person in each of the books. The Elite shows
the love between 6 girls and one man. Breaking Dawn, the love is between Bella and Edward but
then is basically projected to other characters in the book. These characters are able to witness and
understand how important the main characters of each book are valuable to each other.
The setting in each of the books really shows how the importance of symbols makes the setting
very important. The symbols that each of the setting holds is also shown by the characters and how
they are able to add to the setting and the symbolism. In each book the symbol is used a a gift to
each of the main characters. In The Elite America is given a bracelet. This bracelet symbolizes
there love and also there conflicts. When having one of their many conflict America shows that

Abstract
The reason for conducting this lab is discover is changing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)
concentration will affect the rate of reaction. During the experiment, the H2O2 rate will be
changed and pressure will be measured using a gas pressure sensor. The data suggests that as the
hydrogen peroxide concentration increases, the rate of diffusion increases and that my hypothesis
is valid.
Introduction
Hydrogen peroxide is a by product of biochemical metabolism. The accumulation of hydrogen
peroxide can be deadly, so it must be decomposed. One of the decomposing factors is an enzyme
called Catalase. Catalase breaks hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Since this is a
decomposition reaction, it is exothermic. Hydrogen peroxide can gradually degenerate itself, it
decomposes much faster with the help of Catalase which lowers the activation energy to the
minimum energy barrier that hydrogen peroxide molecules should overcome to decompose.

Non Reciprocal Trade Arrangement Is Africa Growth And...
The first RTA I chose to discuss is a Non Reciprocal Trade Arrangement called Africa Growth and
Opportunity Act (AGOA). USTR.gov states, In 2013, U.S. goods imports from sub Saharan
African under AGOA and the related GSP program totaled $26.8 billion, more than three times
the amount in 2001, the first full year of AGOA trade. There are challenges for this agreement as
the site later states, Exports of U.S. poultry have been effectively excluded from the South African
market for 15 years due to a range of trade barriers and other measures. This agreement has
potential to assist the African economy in numerous ways as the exports can create large revenue
for Africaand can also provide employment opportunities. The difficulty lies with changing trade
barriers that could begin to cause more products and materials to have higher taxes associated.
The second RTA I chose is called Free Trade AreaAgreement (FTAA). As export.gov states, The
FTA includes a non binding statement of intent to eliminate barriers to trade in services such as
tourism, communications, banking, insurance, management consulting, accounting, law, computer
services, and advertising. The benefits are mutual and the United States has made tremendous
profit on exports. The site later states, U.S. exports to Israel grew from $2.5 billion in 1985 to
$11.3 billion in 2010. This agreement can become challenging as the economy can shift and with
the presidential election threatening to put more taxes on

My Long-Term Aerobic Goal
Over the term of the semester, I was able to fully achieve my fitness goals (and then some), due
to a well structured workout plan, persistence and continued exercise throughout the semester,
and reasonable goals. Due to this I was able to significantly improve my cardio and core strength.
My long term aerobic goal was to be able to run the 1.5 mile benchmark run in 9 minutes and 30
seconds, a 3 minute improvement over my initial 11:48 that I tested at initially. I thought this was a
reasonable goal over the course of 1 semester given a consistent amount of practice. I met this goal
about Вѕ into the semester and was able to consistently run the 1.5 miles every workout session
in about 9:10. My aerobic workout schedule consisted of going outside and running the 1.5 mile
course every session, pushing myself to my limits every time and thus incrementally improving
my time. I found tht the most difficult aspect was to master my own self effort, as my own
internal effort seemed to make the difference between a terrible time and a fantastic, fast, run.
Once I was able to control this, however, my times became consistent, and I met my goals every
day. My times slowly decreased until I was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my initial fitness testing, I was only able to do 22 curl ups, significantly below average, and thus
I thought it would be reasonable to set a goal of 60 curl ups in 1 session, which is considered
average. By doing many repetitions of 10 curls ups each every day, I was able to build up my muscle
strength to the point where I could go for long periods doing curl ups with little to no fatigue.
This was a much more prominent change than the one I noticed with my aerobic workouts, as I
would collapse entirely from exhaustion after 20 repetitions early in the semester, whereas later I
could do curl ups exceedingly well. I in fact reached 94 curl ups on my final fitness

Criminal Justice System
Based on those statistics, it s safe to believe that Norway s criminal justice system is doing
something right. The few citizens that go to prison usually only go once. How does Norway
achieve this? The country relies on a method called restorative justice, which aims to repair the
harm caused by crimerather than punish people. This system is purely focused on rehabilitating
prisoners. The United States, on the other hand, places focus on incarceration and incapacitation.
This is where the methodologies clash: should the criminal justicesystem be responsible for
rehabilitating its citizens? The Norwegian government certainly thinks so. They accomplish their
goal through a system of normalcy; for Norway, removing people s freedom is... Show more content

If we treat people like animals when they are in prison they are likely to behave like animals. Here
we pay attention to you as human beings (Sterbenz, 2014). Bastoy has been labeled one of the
most liberal prisons in the world. Prisoners and guards actually work as a team, tending to farm
animals and chopping wood for the winter. They play cards, ski, cook, and take classes. Under
Nilsen s tenue, Bastoy, has received increasing global attention...for the humane conditions under
which the prisoners live in houses rather than cells in what resembles a cosy self sustaining village
(James, 2013).
Bastoy was an experiment, and Norwegian officials hoped that it would rehabilitate prisoners and
instill values like responsibility, trust, leadership, and accountability. The system is working. The
reoffending rate from Bastoy is remarkably low at a mere 16%, which is 4 percentage points
lower than the country of Norway, as a whole. It is clear, when looking at the results of Nilsen s
approach, that the prison has successfully lowered recidivism rates.
All of these traits are vastly different from the US prison system. In general, prison should have
five goals, as described by criminologist Bob Cameron: retribution, incapacitation, deterrence,
restoration, and rehabilitation. In his words though, Americans want their prisoners punished first
and rehabilitated second (Cameron, 2014). Norway adopts a less punitive approach. A 2007 report

Informative Essay On The King Cake
Brynn Hardie
30 January, 2017
Mrs. Heidi Baccigalopi
HISTORY Today I will be talking about the history of King Cakes and Mardi Gras. The King
Cake is a brioche style cake traditionally made throughout the State of Louisiana during the weeks
prior to Mardi Gras. The King Cake tradition is thought to have been brought to New Orleans from
France in 1870. The celebration of Mardi Gras came to North America from France where it had
been celebrated since the Middle Ages. It s decorated in royal colors of PURPLE which signifies
justice , GREEN for Faith , and GOLD for power . Today in New Orleans, the king cake is an oval
shaped braided cake similar to a coffee cake which has cinnamon within the braids ... Show more

In 1871, the tradition of choosing Queen of Mardi Gras was determined by who drew the prize
within the cake. Today, such a find is still deemed to be a sign of good luck and it customary for
the person who discovers the hidden plastic baby to host the next party. In the past such things
as coins, beans, pecans, or peas were also hidden in each King Cake. In the early 19th century,
the public celebration of Mardi Gras consisted mainly of maskers on foot, in carriages and on
horseback. In 1837, a costumed group of revealers walked in the first documented parade , but
the violent behavior of maskers during the next two decades caused the press to call for an end
to Mardi Gras. Fortunately, six New Orleanains who were former members of the Cowbellions,
a group that presented New Years Eve parades in Mobile, AL, saved the New Orleans Mardi Gras
by forming the Comus organization in 1857. The men beautified the celebration and proved that it
could be enjoyed in a safe manner. Comus coined the word Krewe and established several Mardi
Gras traditions by forming a secret

The Causes for the Conflict between Palestinians and Israelis
Conflict Between Palestinians and Israelis; The Cause
Against a backdrop of an ever increasing number of internal conflicts and the crash of
conventional means of conflict resolution to attain a resilient peace in divided societies, this paper
presents a two track approach to peacekeeping and conflict resolution. One track is represented by
peacemaking, defined as endeavors at finding a resolution to the issues in conflict at the political
leadership level. The other track, peacebuilding, refers to contact proposals at the grassroots level
targeting at the enhancement of intergroup relations. After a conversation of role of grassroots
peacebuilding in a peace process some groundwork findings on the bond between peacemaking and
peacebuilding in two divided societies, Palestine and Israel, will be discussed.
War is not a common phenomenon anymore after the post cold war era. According a research
conducted on active armed conflict across the world at the Uppsala University in Sweden, of all
the 101 active armed conflicted between the late 80s and mid 90s, only six were actually between
two different states (Solenberg Wallensteen, 1997). These statistics clearly indicates that the
conflict in today s world is more internal and ethnic based.
The majority of the states are ethnically diverse. Nation state is a loosely used term since
according to one survey conducted in the early 70s indicated that out of 132 nations only 12 were
truly nation states. Similarly in 1983 out of

Emotional Voices Of Shakespeare s The Merchant Of...
William Shakespeare expresses Shylock and Hamlet s emotional voices explicitly throughout both
plays: The Merchant of Venice and Hamlet. The emotional voices in both texts were due to the
tragic incidences each protagonist Shylock and Hamlet endured. In The Merchant of Venice the
emotions seen within the text are hatred and penitence, whereas in Hamletthe audience can infer
that the emotions portrayed are depression, pain and terror; thus instigating that there is a
contrasting concept between The Merchant of Veniceand Hamlet. This can be seen through Hamlet
s situation where his emotions were triggered by his father s passing. As stated in Act 4 Scene 4, he
utters: My thoughts be bloody or be nothing worth . The word bloody suggests that he has
malicious intentions as he indicated obliviously that he wanted to avenge his father. Hamlet cannot
afford to think of anything other than his unsettled task: execute his father s assumed murderer.
This brings out his emotional voice vengeance as the death of his father had an enormous impact on
him, leading him to become depressed and paranoid throughout the play. Dissimilarly, Shylock s
emotionhad been caused by the mistreatment he suffered as a result of him being a Jew in a
Christian community. Anti Semitism was omnipresent in Venice, signifying that Shylock was
discriminated against pervasively. This led him to channel all his anger towards the Christians
because of the inevitable exploitation he

Internal Conflict At Gideon
Internal conflict is when the character has a problem that they deal with in a personal way. When a
character is dealing with internal conflict, no one else knows but themselves and the reader.
External conflict is when there is a problem that many characters are involved in. When a character
is dealing with external conflict, the antagonist of the story and a few other characters are involved.
Internal and External conflict are the same because they are both problems the characters deal with
in the story.
The author introduces conflict after Gideon, their cook, saves the little boy from going blind.
The mother was so amazed with what he did, that she decided to tell everyone she knew. To the
people, what Gideon did was magical and the plant he used to help the boy needed to be found.

  • 2. The Japanese Political System From the Meiji Restoration era, democratization efforts were undertaken to modernize Japan. A bicameral system of legislature as well as local, though unelected assemblies were created in the image of the Prussian model (Haddad, 2012, p. 50) and a Constitution placing absolute power with the monarch was formed. Although the main intention of the oligarchs behind the Constitution was to have the national Diet as an advisory body, they created a series of transcendental cabinets which answered to the Emperor (Haddad, 2012, p. 50), Bureaucrats were important tools during this period as they were the people with the knowledge necessary to enable the country to function. .... • 3. David Miescher Essay Deoxyribonucleic acid or its more common name DNA is the hereditary material that makes up all humans and living organisms. DNA is an incredibly complex molecule that acts as an instruction book for cells. This molecule was discovered in the late 1800 s by a Swiss biochemist named Friedrich Miescher. Miescher isolated analyzed and recognized DNAas a unique macromolecule. Johannas Friedrich Miescher was born in 1844 to a distinguished scientific family. In college, Miescher studied medicine but after his graduation in 1868, he decided to pursue physiological chemistry. This was due to a hearing impairment caused by a severe attack of typhoid fever. In 1869, he stayed at the laboratory of Felix Hoppe Seyler. By combining his knowledge of medicine and organic chemistry he isolated and chemically characterized DNA. At the time of this discovery, many believed that cells were largely made of proteins. Miescher contradicted this opinion by noting that the presence of something that cannot belong among any of the proteinsubstances known hitherto . He showed that this substance was derived from the nucleus of the cellalone and, therefore, named it nuclein . He then went on to prove that nuclein was present in many cells and contained phosphorous carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. These findings were so revolutionary that... • 4. Youth International Party Research Paper The Youth International party was an American activism group, born out of the anti war movement, concerned with civil rights. The Youth International Party has also been referred to as Yippies, who are now known for their theatrical style of collective action during the sixties. The group mainly consisted of hippies, counterculture revolutionist, political workers, and activists. The Yippies harbored collective action by using elements of performance to demonstrate their cause. In 1967 to 1968, Yippies constructed multiple street demonstrations in protest of the United Statesmilitary involvement in the Vietnam War. The group was founded by Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, two men that became a symbol for radical activism. The group was founded by the two activist in 1968. Yippies goal for these performances were, protesting Johnson s Vietnam policy, argued for an end to the draft, and made the case for a different kind of American society, one based not on capitalism but cooperation. (Shawyer 2008: 14) Yippies strategies were to use street theatre to create an experience to draw attention to America and communicate that the average American did not have any control over the political processes that go on. Yippies recognized how this issue... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. The Mission Station Of Spain The main theme of the story in the mission is about a group of Jesuits who established a mission station around the borderland of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil around 1750. Meanwhile, they converted the local Indians to Christianity. At the end, Cardinal Altamirano ordered Jesuits to leave the mission. Without the protection of the church, the local Indians were killed or slaved by Portuguese. The script of the movie was written from a real historic event in 1754 1756, the Guarani War, which Guarani communities defend their homeland against Spanish Portuguese for almost three years. The fuse of the war was ignited by the Treaty of Madrid in 1750, which was signed by the king of Spain and Portugalto completely determine the border between Spain and Portugal in South America by the area around Uruguay river. Around that time, the Jesuit mission stations and the local Indians were growing rapidly both economically and regionally with their outstanding plantations, which was much better than those in Portugal s own territory. As a consequence, the Portuguese wanted to take over control the land and slave the Indians. They forced the Catholic churchto dissemble their mission station and did the massacre right after they leaved. The paradigm that director used was carefully selected. The story of the movie was told from a vision of Cardinal Altamirano, who was writing a letter to the pop for explaining what had happened. Within the story, the two main narratives were not on ... • 7. New World History Learning about Pocahontas in class made me very interested in the topic of Native Americans coming over to The New World . I grew up learning that Native Americans were perfectly fine with people coming over from England to conquer their land, as Disney casually depicts it. During my research for the paper I watched The New World which was nothing like Disney s Pocahontas. Even though they both were missing some key history elements. The New World was directed by Terrence Malick, produced by Sarah Green, and the screenwriter was also Malick. The filmmakers were pretty accurate with the big parts of the movie; I could imagine that these parts of the movie were changed to make movie more exciting and entertaining. The film blends recorded... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the props, costumes, sets, etc. were hand built for the film by these masters, utilizing native woods, plants, leaves, metals, fabrics, etc. and working from historical writings and drawings, and with the assistance of an advisory board consisting of more than a dozen archivists, librarians, professors and others. The important recreation of Fort James was accomplished with wood chopped out of growth in the actual Jamestown area, just as the English would have in 1607. All other elements clothing, makeup, hair designs, guns, swords, bows arrows, etc. were constructed under Fisk s supervision from materials which would have been available to the Indians and to the English colonists at that time (IMBD, 2). In the film, Fort James was actually built on land off of Little Creek Dam Road in Toano, Virginia. The city of Werowocomoco was built across the river in the Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area, which is a very beautiful area. The agecroft hall in the movie is the real hall from the fifteenth century. It was transported from Lanacashire to Windsor Farms on the James River in 1925. It is now also open to the public. • 8. Colon Cancer Research Paper Cancer is something that not only affects the person diagnosed with it, but also the people who know them. When my grandmother got colon cancer in 2008, the family was distraught with the news and didn t know how to react. After she had died from cancer in 2009, I wasn t aware of exactly what kind of cancershe had and how the severity was. I didn t even know what each of the stages meant. After I found out what kind of cancer she had, I still wasn t sure how it was caused, what kind of effects it had, what kind of treatments she had, and if there was any way it could ve been prevented. Although there isn t a precise reason as to what causes colon cancer, there are several risk factors. Two of those risk factors are genetic mutations which are familial adenomatous polyposis and hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer. Familial adenomatous polyposis is an uncommon disorder which makes thousands of polyps develop along the lining of your colon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For stage zero colon cancer patients, the cancer cells haven t spread past the inner lining of the colon so surgery is the only thing needed. The surgery is usually done by polypectomy if the tumor is small enough; if not, a colon resection, or colectomy is needed. By stage one of colon cancer, the cells have spread throughout many layers of the colon, but not through the colon s walls so surgery would only be needed to take out the part of the colon that has cancer or any lymph nodes. Stage two and three treatments include more colectomy and chemotherapy and possibly radiation treatments depending on how many cancer cells were removed. For stage four of colon cancer, there is a small chance that surgery could remove the cancer cells since it could spread to the liver, lungs, the lining of the abdominal cavity, or other lymph nodes. • 9. Essay on Gender and Music Preference Gender and Music Preference There are so many different forms and genres of music that people admire. Even older genres that have seemed to die out still have fans such as disco or polka. Many researchers discuss why people favor the music that they do. This has been a popular topic in music research considering how important music has become in everyday life. Music is played in the car, on the internet, on cellphones, and even behind commercials on television. It is hard to imagine a world without it. Now there are many reasons discussed about why people prefer one kind of music over another, such as one s age. One s age could determine what music was popular when they were a kid, or what genres they have been around to experience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Music genres can be split into categories for what genders are dominating the majority of their listeners. Heavier music such as rap and rock seem to appeal more to a young male because of the reoccurring themes of aggression and independence. Whereas lighter music normally involves themes of emotion and love which a girl can better relate too. As mentioned above, I believe age, ethnicity, culture, and genetics all play a role in musical preference, but gender should not be left out. While some believe that music preference all belongs to the individual and not about fitting into the generic stereotypes. I disagree and believe that gender does take part in the music selection one makes. Literature Review Kelly D. Schwartz and Gregory T. Fouts created a study set out to examine the personality characteristics and developmental issues of three different groups of adolescent music listeners. The first group analyzed was adolescent listeners who preferred light qualities of music. The second group was those who preferred heavy kinds of music, and the last were for those who preferred a wide range of music. One hundred and sixty four adolescents participated in the study. • 10. The Internet Does Not Represent A Democratisation Of The... The question that I considered writing about in my essay was The internet does not represent a democratisation of the media because the online world mirrors the inequalities of the offline world . The argument I am making is that the offline world does not mirror the inequalities of the online world. The online world is a huge database that is used to engage emphasis of inequalities of the offline world. This simply signifies discriminationas being notorious on the online world. An example of this which I think is a big factor is internet equality, also known as Net Neutrality . Net neutrality is the principle that all online traffic should be treated equally. If you are paying for a certain speed of internet connection, you should be able to use that to its full potential all the time, regardless of which website or service you are accessing. Right now you are paying one price for your internet connection, companies do not have any right to dictate what you use that internet for as they can only charge you for the internet itself, but if huge companies such as Time Warner Cable and Comcast had their way, each month they would charge you extra to watch Netflix or use Facebook on top of many already trying to impose bandwidth caps on how much data you can download every month. To put it in to perspective similarly, it would be like a water company charging you extra because you decided to use your water for coffee instead of the laundry. The reason why the example ... Discuss the accuracy of this view with detailed reference to AN IRISH AIRMAN FORESEES HIS DEATH and other poems set for study. Composers explore the local and universal to communicate their text s relevance to their world using historical evidence and present day knowledge to inform responders about their struggles. W.B Yeats examines the ideas of annunciation, the past and spiritualism within his world. Both poems, An Irish Airman Foresees His Death and The Second Coming, extrapolate, through heightened symbolism, the ideas of the past and the present and the impact they have had on Ireland and Yeats. Throughout the poems Yeats references the spiritual and historical issues existing within Yeats s world. Yeats s philosophies examine the historical and philosophical concepts and their effect on immortality and the environment through his heightened use of analogies to convey his concerns for his country and the wider world. Adaptation relates to everything, there is no life without adapting. The word adaptation means modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions of its environment: a heritable physical or behavioral trait that serves a specific function. Adaptation is important because if Brent (The Burn Journals), the Japanese Americans, and Temple Grandin didn t have adaptation they wouldn t have been able to live a normal life. One way that someone might show adaptation in their life is when someone is born into a religious family. They adapt to going to religious celebrations and don t think anything of it after they have been doing it through their childhood. They have adapted to that certain schedule. There are also different ways adaptation can be shown. The three examples from our literature will show how they have used adaptation in parts of their life. In 1942 the Japanese Americans were relocated because of their race. They had to adapt to a new way of life by realizing they had to work harder to just live. Temple Grandin was an autistic young adult that was always moving. Temple had to adapt to the new surroundings every time she moved to a new location. • 22. The Central Dilemma Of Environmental Ethics The central dilemma in environmental ethics is determining the value of nature: what kind of value does it have, what aspects of the environment have value, and from what or whom does environmental value ultimately derive? Many philosophers have proposed answers to these inquiries, but every ethic is weak in one or more of these areas. Holmes Rolston III, an American philosopher, preacher, and naturalist, has proposed a deontological argument that addresses each of the key subjects in the debate surrounding the valuation of nature (Holmes Rolston III, 2016, para. 1 2, 4). Although several essential components of his case include numerous references to macroevolution, an aspect with which Young Earth Christians would disagree, his ethic is logical, well crafted, and on the whole aligns with a Biblical perspective of Creation. It would not seem at first that a former Presbyterian pastor would be especially interested in the realm of environmental philosophy, yet Rolston s environmental ethic is surprisingly elegant (Holmes Rolston III, 2016, para. 2). His overall ideology can be summarized in the following statement: Values exist in the world objectively apart from human choice or human or animal consciousness (Smillie, n.d., para. 1). Rolston s ethic is informed by teleology, from whence is derived his object with will argument. This philosophy is based on the idea that all organisms have purpose in living, namely life itself; thus, valueresides in the object with will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Where these meet is the equilibrium. This is the output where firms should produce. A need is a necessity, something you can t do without. A good example is food. If you don t eat, you won t survive for long. The market is mankind s most valuable tool for meeting the needs of the people because only a market understands the needs and wants of customers, and how these differ. They provide an easier way for start ups to enter a national market, particularly if the business has identified a small niche segment of that market. It is thought that human beings developed language c. 35,000 BCE as evidenced by cave paintings from the period of the Cro Magnon Man (c. 50,000 30,000 BCE) which appear to express concepts concerning daily life. • 30. Reflection On Winter Narrative Self Reflection A large purpose of the narrative is to show the change a person must go through in order to change long term habits, and the setting heavily reflects on that, because both the character and the setting changed. It is set over the course of a year, which is shown through lines such as flowers bloom , and it grows colder . It is also shown in the title of each poem, which both corresponds to the season, and the stage of recovery the main characteris in. These help to establish the setting, along with specific language choices. In my narrative, I used the metaphors of different seasons to convey my message. In literature, winter traditionally symbolizes difficulty and struggle, and it is used in the narrative to convey exactly that. The lines falling into darkness / it grows colder are representative of the winter approaching, however, it also acts as a metaphor for his heart growing colder, and him feeling as if he is falling into darkness, which represents mystery and fear. The tone of mystery and fear creates a somber mood, because the helplessness he feels contributes to the fear he faces. The connotations associated with the seasons also apply to the character. Springtime connotes feelings of rebirth and growth, just as he is growing as a character. He refers to his family as my light . Light is often connoted with purity and goodness, and he considers his family to be the light of his life. During the summer, the protagonist describes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. A Report On The Plane Detectors The airplane was equipped with a smoke and fire detection and warning system to provide flight crews with a visual indication in the cockpit of smoke or fire in the cargo compartments. The airplane had a total of 26 smoke detectors. The main cargo compartment had 7 smoke detectors installed, and in the 4 lower cargo compartments were 19 smokedetectorsinstalled. During the preflight checks the flight crew tested the operation of the smoke detectors by enabling their test function from the cockpit. The flight engineer reported that no problems were encountered during the functional check of the smoke detectors before the flight. The main cargo compartment smoke detectorsystem consists of detectors located in the compartment ceiling that were designed to provide a smoke indication whenever the smoke around a detector reached a certain density. Five of the seven smoke detectors were mounted on the left side of the ceiling at locations corresponding to cargo containers 2, 5, 8, 11/12, and 14. The other two detectors were mounted next to each other near the ceiling centerline at locations corresponding to cargo containers 17 and 18. The smoke detector switch, which is located on the flight engineer s upper panel, provides a means for testing the smoke detectors and the system wiring. The smoke detector switch has the following labeled positions: OFF, NOR [normal], and 1 through 7. However, the system is not able to identify the specific sensor(s) detecting smoke in ... There are many ways to read the novel Alice in Wonderland, it holds not one point of view, but many which can be interpreted in several ways. Analyzed from the critical viewpoint of physiological, readers may discover some interesting and remarkable surprises. The specific point I would like to discuss today are the physiological disorders this novel holds, such as the lunatic Red Queenwho was wrapped whole with narcissistic behaviors and personality disorders, the unimaginable feeling of loneliness portrayed throughout Alice s adventure, and a dream anxiety disorder/psychosis or schizophrenia which represented itself as the actual story, viewed through the main character Alice. To begin with, there are many characters in Alice in Wonderland, who, despite the normality in their world, are rather odd; all whom which held a distinctive characteristic that revolved around all their actions, words, and surroundings. These sentiments caused Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, to bully the rest of Europe into submission so that he could build his military up and unleash war like never before. Hitler used foreign policy to complete his plans to destroy the Versailles treaty, rule and colonize the rest of Europe, and exterminate all racial inferiors; such as Jews. Peace and trust between countries also began to wither from discrete pacts being signed in fear of the Germans. The annexation of Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia also was a significant event prior to an all out war. War was finally unleashed by Hitler when the Polish, British, and French denied him access to Danzig and railways throughout Poland. All these events combined would explain how World War II erupted in Europe. For example, this all out war in Europe was first derived from Hitler s foreign policy and the policy s effects on peace... Different geographic locations have different norms and cultures that are followed by the people that live in that specific location. That being said, religion can be indigenous or non indigenous. Indigenous religions are religions that are native to a place. Some good examples of indigenous religions are Shintoism, which is native to Japan, Christianity which, originated in Rome and Islam, which is believed to be originated in Mecca. A couple examples of non indigenous religionare Voodoo and New Age. Religions originate when people that live close get together share their belief systems and can distinguish right from wrong. When a religion is created the cultural rules get included in the religious rules. For example, in Buddhism, nuns have way more rules that have to be followed than the priests. Buddhism is native to India, and women in India are ruled and taken care of by the men. Primarily, the men in this country have power over the women and it is believed that while creating these rules the culture and norms were incorporated into it. Although, when studying religions it is good to have the origination, it can be harmful as well. But in some sense you could say that this is a similarity and something that it true between each of the books. But one of the many similarities is the strong theme in each of the books, that theme is love and love is the one thing that almost of the characters in the book experience. Each of the characters are able to feel the deep emotion that love holds. But the love is also different. Lab Report On Hydrogen Peroxide Hydrogen Peroxide Rate of Reaction By Kevin Frappier 10/15/2017 BIOL133 Abstract The reason for conducting this lab is discover is changing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) concentration will affect the rate of reaction. During the experiment, the H2O2 rate will be changed and pressure will be measured using a gas pressure sensor. The data suggests that as the hydrogen peroxide concentration increases, the rate of diffusion increases and that my hypothesis is valid. Introduction Hydrogen peroxide is a by product of biochemical metabolism. The accumulation of hydrogen peroxide can be deadly, so it must be decomposed. One of the decomposing factors is an enzyme called Catalase. Catalase breaks hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Since this is a decomposition reaction, it is exothermic. Hydrogen peroxide can gradually degenerate itself, it decomposes much faster with the help of Catalase which lowers the activation energy to the minimum energy barrier that hydrogen peroxide molecules should overcome to decompose. USTR.gov states, In 2013, U.S. goods imports from sub Saharan African under AGOA and the related GSP program totaled $26.8 billion, more than three times the amount in 2001, the first full year of AGOA trade. There are challenges for this agreement as the site later states, Exports of U.S. poultry have been effectively excluded from the South African market for 15 years due to a range of trade barriers and other measures. This agreement has potential to assist the African economy in numerous ways as the exports can create large revenue for Africaand can also provide employment opportunities. In The Merchant of Venice the emotions seen within the text are hatred and penitence, whereas in Hamletthe audience can infer that the emotions portrayed are depression, pain and terror; thus instigating that there is a contrasting concept between The Merchant of Veniceand Hamlet. This can be seen through Hamlet s situation where his emotions were triggered by his father s passing. As stated in Act 4 Scene 4, he utters: My thoughts be bloody or be nothing worth . The word bloody suggests that he has malicious intentions as he indicated obliviously that he wanted to avenge his father. Hamlet cannot afford to think of anything other than his unsettled task: execute his father s assumed murderer. This brings out his emotional voice vengeance as the death of his father had an enormous impact on him, leading him to become depressed and paranoid throughout the play. Dissimilarly, Shylock s emotionhad been caused by the mistreatment he suffered as a result of him being a Jew in a Christian community. Anti Semitism was omnipresent in Venice, signifying that Shylock was discriminated against pervasively. This led him to channel all his anger towards the Christians because of the inevitable exploitation he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
