Causes, Problems, and Cures for Air Pollution
When people think of air pollution, they most immediately picture heavy smog drifting over cities and
industrial plants. This is the first and most evident form of air pollution.
To better understand the subject, we need to define the term air pollution. Air pollution is the presence
in or introduced into the air of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects. These substances
linger and cause many adverse problems. Humans and other living creations rely on the atmosphere
for reparation. When air quality is dampened by pollution, immediate and long term consequences
take place. Pollution has caused allergies, disease, damage to crops, and even death. It is important
that we fully understand the causes, problems, and possible solutions of air pollution so that we can
make an educated decision for Earth s future.
There are many causes of air pollution. We can divide air pollutants into two categories. there are
invisible and visible air pollutants. The smog you might see lingering over a city is a good example of
visible air pollution. Invisible air pollutants are obviously not as noticeable, but they can be just as
deadly, if not more so. Examples of invisible pollutants include nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, and
carbon monoxide. Air pollution can further be split into primary and secondary pollutants. Primary
pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide, are ones directly

restriction on remittances of capital abroad. Amounts paid out to foreign shareholders and partners are
not taxed. Repatriation of capital is also tax exempt, subject to the amount not exceeding the original
investment. Foreign investors may invest in Brazilian financial institutions subject to a few conditions.
Brazil s Trade Policy: According to a WTO policy document on Brazil, Brazil considers the

Compare And Contrast Iroquois And Delian League
Two of the most iconic confederacies in history, the Iroquois and Delian League have shaped the
cultural landscapes of North America and Greece respectively. Despite the similar democratic
principles in both regions, the confederacies incentives for their beginnings were vastly different, as
the Iroquois was seen to sustain internal safety with expansionist policies, while the Delian League
was to resist external pressure without any imperialist motives.
The beginnings of the Iroquois confederacy were triggered by the prevalent ethnic tensions between
the many nations in the North American region. Established prior to European contact in the 1450s,
the idea of a confederacy was masterminded by the Peacemaker, commonly known as Dekadawina. ...

Kinship was traced through the female line, as the Western headed father figure consisted of the
progeny of the woman and her female descendants. On a macro scale, the family was integrated into a
system of clans, clans into nations, and ethnic groups into the confederation. This confederation
featured a system known as the Grand Council , where each associated family would be placed in a
hierarchy. The hierarchy would dictate the tasks each family or nation would be responsible for.
Within the council itself, the decision making process resembles that of a two house congress in one
body, with the older brothers , the nations of the Mohawk and Onondaga, and younger brothers , the
nations of the Cayuga and Oneida each comprising a side of the house. Between these two distinct
houses, the older brothers of the Mohawk and Onondaga occupy an executive role, hence its name,
and possess a veto that could be overridden by both the younger brothers as part of the process. The
resulting decision by the Mohawk and Onondaga are not final, however, as the head chief of the
organization, known as the Hononwiretonh, whose duty is to sit and listen to the debate, is the final
voice within this decision process. As can be seen, this legislative system provides for numerous
checks and balances of power and depends on

The Advantages Of Consumer Driven Personal Technology
Advantages of Consumer Driven Personal Technology
Improved technology has had impacts across various spheres of human life. It has enhanced various
sectors such as education, business, recreation, as well as the health departments(Ibm, 2013). In
business, technology has been of great importance to the consumers who like making online

which people do business today. The kind of technology that enables consumers to purchase products

Time starved consumers have the ability to create a new kind of communication touch point in various

platform for consumers to make purchases without physically gong to the shops. This saves them
enough time for doing other activities. Parents find it easier shopping while taking their kids to

How Did Lenin Come To Power
Lenin thought the idea of a revolution, and the planning of it was effortless and simple to carry on. He
believed the attack had to be made in three key places, including Petrograd, Moscow and Baltic Fleet.
He believed the Petrograd soldiers were able to obtain the Winter Palace, the General Staff Building
and other important buildings adding that this would cause Alexander Kerensky to surrender.
Notwithstanding, the Bolshevik Central Committee did not accept his ideas, leading to an ultimatum
sent by Lenin, in which he resigned to the Committee, and stated that he would have the right to issue
propaganda to those other members of the party.
Many members from the Committee, stated that Lenin s plan, that was focused to be executed before

Developing a Brief for Opening a Business Office in...
Scenario: Task is development of a briefing that focuses on opening a business office in Northeast and
Central Asia. This brief will liaison with the Department of Defense to provide the most appropriate
and needed information regarding the area and will include a summary of the political, cultural,
economic and communications issues for the region, their primary differences with the United States,
and the potential for success of any venture for the area. Geographic Area: Northeast and Central Asia
include the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia and others in the region: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,
Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Northeast Asia is generally defined as mid northeastern
China and Mongolia. Some include North Korea into this boundary; some include Japan, depending
on the context and purpose. Generally, South Korea and Japan are not included because of their level
of modernization and ties to the West: Background: China is its own unique issue within the paradigm
of this region, and should be treated separately since its own hegemony and characteristics do not
always coincide with the rest of NE and Central Asia. In fact, outside of ethic and cultural groups,
China s characteristics flow more like a spoke and wheel; the wheel being the major urban centers,
particularly Beijing, with the spokes allowing for flow both to and from the cities. Countries in

Corporate Scandals And Allegations Of Fraud
Corporate scandals and accusations of fraud have amplified intensely over the last decade. The cost of
fraud has reached over $400 billion dollars a year, not to mention the loss of investments and jobs.
Corporation fraud involves creative, complex methods in which to overstate revenues, understate
expenses, over value assets, and underreport liabilities. To hide financial problems, management will
manipulate stock prices, minimize taxable income, and maximize compensation. It s been my
experience... that the past always has a way of returning. Those who don t learn, or can t remember it,
are doomed to repeat it (Berry, p. 417, 2009). Enron Corporation, WorldCom, Incorporated, and

Upper management abused their responsibilities by misstating financial records. Management
manipulated earnings in order to make the numbers appear good so they will in turn receive a bonus.
Companies such as Enron, WorldCom, and Global Crossing had a board of directors that simply were
not doing their job of overseeing the financial reporting (Petra, 2006). Fraudulent activities were
caused by conflicts of interest between the directors and executive officers. Accountants and auditors
helped deceive the public by certifying that the financial statements were true and correct of
fraudulent corporations. Incentives drove auditors behaviors to create this hidden fraudulent activity
between the client and the auditor. The fear of losing the client almost guaranteed that the auditor
would comply with the management s decisions. Unfortunately, investors placed their faith in the
auditors reports, which certified the net income was accounted for correctly. With the support of the
auditors behaviors, these large corporations were able to hide the fraud for a long time.

Western View Of Human Nature
This week we have learned about four different views of human nature. The two views that I found
most interesting were the the traditional western view and the Darwinian challenge to the traditional
western view. In the Darwinian challenge, Charles Darwin argued that humans developed from
nonhuman animals. The strengths of Darwin s arguments are that he used fossils to support his claims.
The fossils are real evidence that everyone can look at and examine and they do show how humans
have developed over the years. The weaknesses of his arguments are that he undermined the idea that
living things and their parts are designed for a purpose. The next argument I found interesting was the
the traditional western view. In this view Plato argues that

But he who greatly excels in beauty, strength, birth, or wealth, or on the other hand who is very poor,
or very weak, or very much disgraced, finds it difficult to follow rational principle (Aristotle, Politics,
Book 4, 4.11) Every country was first born through the discovery of new lands, then the battles of
power and dominance, learned experience from failed mistakes and the skill of compromise to keep
peace with its inhabitants. While a ruling king may have been necessary for times in early
Mesopotamia or ancient Egypt, we see the Roman Kingdom begin its painful growth of expelling its
kingpin and slowly developing into a republic. It created government offices such as the tribune of the
people and the censorship in a struggle to remain in control, but in the end, the people fought for their

An International Criminal Court
The establishment of an international criminal court was a slow, arduous process. Following the
horrific human rights violations committed by the Nazis in World War II, the global community began
to take the proper steps to combat the notion that being at war sanctions gross abuses of human rights.
It was not a lust for violence that elongated the process of establishing the ICC (international criminal
court), but rather the long time battle between accepting that the world is increasingly affected by
globalization and holding fast to the age old tradition of prizing state sovereignty above all. The scale
of the genocide carried out against all peoples not of Aryan descent in the 1940s was the catalyst
needed to start talks about prizing guaranteed rights over the incessant need to abide by antiquated
customary law. Whilst many argue that the ICC and ad hoc tribunals such as the International
Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former
Yugoslavia (ICTY) fail to provide a comprehensive international legal framework, they serve other
important purposes. Firstly, the ICC and its parent tribunals played a major part in ending the culture
of impunity. Oftentimes, in states where there are violations of international humanitarian law, the
government is wrought with corruption. Politicians and government officials abuse the rights of their
citizens and others under the guise of sovereign immunity. Tribunals, and later the ICC,

The, Gone Home, And The Video Game
During the readings and observations of the articles from Mahiri/Sablo, and the video game Gone
Home seems as if literacy such as writing, reading and language became well know for
communicating and associating with people who come from our/different discourse communities and
backgrounds. Both articles explain the cultural meaning of literacy and voluntary writing their way for
others like myself to correlate and understand. The two African Americans (Troy and Keisha)
developed their literacy skills to incorporate their ways of how they feel and talk about specific
reasoning and situations. The game gone home provides skills such as text, language and verbal
communication to benefit how people associate and understand how it s processed. These articles are
appealing and provide an importance for writing and communication with people who in their
environment. There are many discourse communities who provide their own unique way of writing. If
we decide to come to the terms of accepting how they interact with others in their own way, Our
species will enhance its diversity and build more acceptance towards other discourse communities and
individuals. Researchers and journalist are observing their work with other discourse communities
around the world. People use literacy and voluntary writing to understand the ability of how to read

Cali Cartel vs. Tijuana Cartel
The drug trade is a very large and complex system. There are many different organizations involved at
different levels. There are groups that operate only in growing and selling the product, and only
groups that buy and distribute the drugs. In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of
two of the largest growers and sellers in the drug trade: The Cali Cartel of Columbia and the Tijuana
Cartel of Mexico. The Cali Cartel is the largest, richest, and most complex producers and distributors
of cocaine. The cartel concentrates almost entirely in cocaine. Over time they have developed an
extremely large and sophisticated distribution system and have generated an extraordinary amount of
wealth. Because of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The regional director reports directly to one of the top drug lords, based in Colombia. This structure
has worked very well and it is because of the cartels complex system that they have been so
successful. However, these organizations would cease to exist if they didn t reside within the
governments that they do. The Cali Cartels operations are made much easy because of warring
paramilitary groups in Columbia. These groups protect the growers in their specific areas. If there
were to be peace in Columbia and the two groups agree to a ceasefire, the growers would then be
vulnerable to government intervention. In Mexico, the AFO thrives on the large number of corrupt
Mexican officials. The cartel makes it a very smart choice for a government official or law enforcer to
help them. Not only are they bribed, but they are also threatened with violence. Everyone in Mexico
knows from the history of this group that they mean business and any threat is very legitimate.
Because of the large amount of corruption in the Mexican government, the Tijuana cartel flourishes.
Both of these cartels are custom made for the area they are located in. If the systems were to switch
geographic locations, they would not be nearly as successful. Over the years, the groups have molded
to form the perfect fit for a drug cartel to operate in their specific area. As

Feminism Is House Of Spirits By Isabel Allende
Feminist theory began in the late 18th century, the main goal was to diminish sexism in society and
create equality for men and women. Throughout the years, women have succeeded in gaining equal
rights. Unfortunately, there are still issues today. For instance, women are paid 78% of what men are
paid. One novel that portrays the argument of Feminism is House of Spirits by Isabel Allende. To
begin with, Men are characterized as violent and destructive beings while women are forgiving and
possess magic. All the women in the book have names that mean light. Finally, the men in the book
have all the power while women remain submissive. The character who represents men is Esteban
Trueba. After the love of his life dies, Esteban moves to a village where he grew up. He begins to
enrich the city and becomes the dictator. Throughout his time as a Dictator, Esteban rapes young
women and keeps some as his maids. He does this for the feeling of empowerment. All the civilians of
the village are afraid of Esteban. He holds grudges and is violent towards the people who defy him.
Although Esteban and Clara have children, it does not stop him from being violent. They have one girl
named Blanca and two boys. Besides Clara s three generations in the book, there is Pedro Garcia s
generation. Pedro Garcia is a trustful peasant of Esteban also called Patron. The Pedro family is
compliant with Esteban. Even though Pedro Segundo son of Pedro Garcia, remains faithful to Esteban.

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep Essay
Is The World Really What it Seems?
The world is barren from war and nuclear dust; however, a few remain to roam the lonely world that
Philip K. Dick has created in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. This is a captivating book, and
anyone into action or thriller novels should definitely pick up this book and read it. The novel grabs
the reader s attention and does not let go because of Dick s straight forward and easy to follow writing
style.
Despite a futuristic, isolated setting, Rick Deckard is living on earth after World War Terminus while
most of his fellow humans have left to Mars. Also after the war most animals went extinct so those
still on the planet created electric animals. Rick is a bounty hunter and is not allowed to leave because
he is looking for several androids that have killed innocent humans. With the money Rick could earn,

Dick did so many things right in his novel; however, there are a few issues with Do Androids Dream
Of Electric Sheep. There are so many unanswered questions when the book ends; it almost makes the
reader feel like the book was read for nothing although it does answer the main question of the book.
Another thing is how Philip K. Dick wrote the book; he wrote it in a very relaxed fashion which is
easy to read and comprehend. Dick is very straight forward in his writing, but his informal style
results in a lot of sentence fragments, for example Conscious of his defeat and failure, Rick settled
back. And helplessly, waited for what came next. (111). It is almost seems like the little details did not
matter to him, which is an important part to making a book complete. However, he wrote his book in
this style for a reason, he did this because it creates a raw story that is easy to absorb and feel the story
instead of having to concentrate on the written words, it automatically just makes

Hif-1 Lab Report
Through this experiment we have successfully cloned and expressed Crassostrea virginica homolog of
hypoxia inducible factor 1. This transcription factor, Hif 1, has many unknown possible cellular
signaling pathways. One possible pathway interaction is between Hif 1 and its role in apoptosis and
cell cycle control, since one of the effect of hypoxia is cell death. In the apoptosis pathway, the tumor
suppressor protein, p53, is inhibited via Mdm2. This pathway has not been fully determined yet in the
eastern oyster, thus it is speculated that Hif 1α and p53 could interact directly or indirectly via Mdm2
(Schmid, 2004). Hif 1 and its control of cell cycle arrest can be evaluated using protein protein
interactions. In order to determine the actual pathway, the possible interaction of Hif 1 and Mdm2 can
be tested for this indirect control of apoptosis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tomorrow Passage In Macbeth
Tomorrow

The first theme the Tomorrow passage speaks to is the flight theme of the play Macbeth. Earlier in the
play we saw many people leave after Macbeth had killed those people in fear of their own life. We see
a lot of people that flee instead of fighting because they knew Macbeth had all the power and they
wouldn t be able to overthrow him. Bring me no more reports; let them fly all! (Macbeth Act 5 Scene
3 Line 1). He is saying that he doesn t want to know anything anymore, because his prophecies told
him that he has nothing to fear. He doesn t think any of the prophecies will come true. We interpret
this as hawks and sparrows, when the hawk, which is Macbeth sees a sparrow, which is anyone that he

bundles of different properties and perceptions, and it is impossible to picture someone without these
properties, same way it is impossible to picture the sun without light. Hume argues that the reason
why most people believe that personal identity is unchangeable is the misinterpretation of self
awareness, Hume believes that humans could never be truly aware of themselves, but through
experience using their senses and imagination they might think that they are truly aware of
themselves, but they are only aware of their surroundings. Therefore, it would be sound to conclude
that Hume s theory of the self is a critical aspect of David Hume s philosophy as it helps shape his

A Brief Note On The Largest Open Mall Center
Our town, like most, has one, two, or more large enclosed shopping malls, plus several strip centers.
The largest open mall in town is not far from our house and is the one my wife shop at most often. It is
a large open shopping area with buildings in clusters of two, to six. There is ample parking, and two or
more of the stores is accessible from each parking space. The complex is anchored by a twelve screen
theater, and three big box stores. The variety of merchandise will rival any of the large enclosed malls.
Here you can find everything, clothing, household items, food, auto parts, sports and hardware. Unlike
the enclosed malls this shopping center has the largest number national chain restaurants in town,
along with a cafeteria, donut shop, and several locally owned eateries. There is in one art gallery that
also serves coffee and a selection of teas, a hobby shop and three places that sell art supplies, which
we both use. One of our favorite stores is a Bakery chain store, they not only have the best tasting
coffee they, have the largest assortment of goodies to go with it. For lunch, they serve a choice of
sandwiches, salads and soups. At dinnertime, they add a great choice of pizza and beer, plus the

Comparison of Into My Heart and I remember I remember
Both poems are about the past and are similar in many ways, but I remember, I remember seems much
more upbeat about the past than into my heart
A.E. Housman s poem describes the lost content of a speaker who is made unhappy when he realises
the happy times he had when he was young are gone forever.
In Thomas Hood s poem the speaker is also made unhappy when he is made aware that he can never

way; Into my heart makes its point in an obviously sombre way, but I remember I remember creates

far country symbolises time rather than distance. It is a memory from a long time ago that is very
different from the life that the speaker is now leading. The memories seem happy because the
symbolic landscape is rural and idyllic. This landscape has hills, farms and spires, which suggest that
the speaker once led a simple life, which is very different from the life he is now leading, and a life to
which he can never return.
I remember, I remember uses a child s perspective to represent the past: the little window where the
sun came peeping in at morn, and he thought the fir trees dark and high were close against the sky
because that is how gigantic they mu st seem, to a child who is not yet fully grown. Each stanza
focuses on a different detail of his past, but they all use the same structure, in every stanza a pleasant

Fact he is so upset that he wants to die and there are many references to death in the poem: I often

The Conflict Between Christian Faith And Those Of Islamic...
As a global collective, the human past is purely one of conflict. Power struggles are widespread and
unique in context, but these struggles are not special in the presence or complexity of the self versus
other conflict within them. One of the strongest examples for this assertion is the First Crusades. At
face value, any observer can immediately take notice of the separation between those of Christian
faith and those of Islamic faith. If additional diligence in research is provided, any one of these
observers begins to find the endlessly deeper self versus other struggles present on both sides,
specifically amongst the Christian military. Numerous accounts from Christian actors serve to support
this argument; the recorded thoughts of both soldiers and intellectuals detail the surprising amount of
divisions between what should be the Christian united. The relationship between the self and the other
present in the mindset of the actors of the Crusades shows that a definite, dynamic, yet necessary
division between all groups of people exists, no matter the already established bonds of any collective.
One of the most complicated pieces to the self versus other puzzle is the dynamic nature of its
idealistic segregation. Each person involved with the First Crusade had an undeniable loyalty to God.
In an effort seemingly meant to cultivate more glory, some saw it fitting to sacrifice established
intercommunity bonds for the sake of peer provided glory. The glory promised by Pope

The Role Of Prohibition In The 1920 s
Prohibition Alcohol is an integral part of contemporary and 1920 s society . The 1920 s gave way to
the rise of alcohol culture, through the 18th amendment by the outlawing of the sale, transportation,
and manufacturing of alcohol. The subsequent public disobedience of prohibition led to a corruption
of morals, government, and the emergence of organised crime which still plagues America today.
Prohibition was a time that garnered immense crime, poverty and passion. The demand for alcohol
during prohibition allowed gangsters to take over the newly defunct alcohol industry. This illegal
commerce made gangsters and their personnel millionaires, for the first time the American dream,
going from rags to riches, was conceptualized and realized. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Chemotherapy Disadvantages
1. Many early cancers often are not associated with any pain and often few, if any, clinical symptoms.
Discuss why this might be so?
Many individuals who are in their early stages of cancer do not experience any pain because cancer
can induce its signs and symptoms. The reason behind this can be the location, size of the cancer.
Also, the addition, some cancers will not show signs and symptoms. These diseases, such as
pancreatic cancer, are sometimes referred to as silent. They are often diagnosed at a late stage when
the disease is much more difficult to treat or even cure (Cancer Signs and Symptoms Overview, 2013).

Misrepresentation Of Chinese Culture
Nowadays, some chinese culture are misrepresented by people in other countries. In the essay,I will
talk about three kinds of misrepresentation of Chinese culture.
Due to the movie montage and some exaggerated shooting techniques, some foreigners have a deep
misunderstanding of Chinese Kung Fu (like Kung Fu dodge and the internal strength).
However, the essence of Chinese martial arts is to move as much in order to keep fit and keep calm.
People who practice the martial arts, naturally have more strength and good at fighting. But all these
achievements were based on the perennial hard work. It s ridiculous to consider using a few days to
learn Chinese Kung Fu.
When I talked with my American friends, the most common answers I get are Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan,
and Kungfu. Honestly, kung fu is such a mysterious thing to me.
The representation of Kung Fu in China has a large difference from those in the US movies. We call it
the type of martial arts Wu Shu (Wu refers to martial arts;Shu means a hero).
Because I grew up with a lot of martial arts novels, I was glad meet a martial arts artist called
Christopher Pei who was the first Kung Fu artist I have ever seen.
The first thing master Pei told me was Kung Fu s misunderstanding of martial arts ( martial arts or
discipline ,an exhibition of traditional Chinese martial arts and all in one sports.) To be aware of this
fact, I felt a bit disappointed. I believe that Kung Fu is a generation after generation of secrets, only in

Effects Of Wetlands On The Environment Essay
WETLANDS
wetlands are defined as transitional land between terrestrial and aquatic systems where the water table
is usually at or near the surface or the land is covered by shallow water. (Cowardin et
al.,1979).Wetlands are one of the most productive life support systems in the world characterized with
waterlogged soils and recognized for their unique role in regulating global biogeochemical cycles
(Reddy and DeLaune, 2008). In the context of global biogeochemical budgets, it is the carbon (C)
cycle that wetlands influence the most. carbon density of wetlands are higher among all other
ecosystems due to its high productivity and slow decomposition rates, (Kayranli et al., 2010 ).
Recent works by the Ramsar Convention s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP), states that
there are evidences showing importance and under estimated role of wetlands in both carbon storage
and the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.(2) significant amount of carbon
dioxide is emitted through degradation of wetlands .
Wetlands play an important role in regulating exchanges of greenhouse gases (water vapour, carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide) to and from the atmosphere . They depending on
temporal ,spatial and typical features ,wetlands tend to be sinks for carbon and nitrogen and sources
for methane and sulphur compounds..3 (figre 1) fig 1

disobey deliberately, but rather because one s own beliefs don t parallel. In the novel The Stranger by
Albert Camus there is a prevalence of characters breaking societal rules, but as a result these
characters face the consequences. Albert Camus connects these actions to the overarching themes of
the books in order to convey his message more effectively. To what extent does the topic of defiance
of societal rules in The Stranger convey the theme of Absurdism in the novel? The sub themes of
femininity, individuality, and isolation connect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meursault isolates himself from the lifestyle that the society attempts to condition him, but this
pressure from society isn t understood by him. One will not realize that they are breaking societal
rules if they are entrapped into a world of their own and believe that that world is perfectly fine the
way it is.
The sub theme of femininity is prevalent throughout the novel, however it is much more minor
compared to the larger ideas Albert Camus shares. Femininity is a theme that goes hand in hand with
Absurdism throughout the novel. It is through Meursault s indifference to love and women that this
theme becomes present. It is not a directly expressed much like the others. Not only Meursault
expresses this, but also Raymond. At the point in the novel after Raymond finds that his girlfriend
cheated on him and used Meursault to write the letter, Raymond shares with Meursault the actions he
took upon his girlfriend as if it were a righteous act. Raymond had smacked her around. And then I
told her exactly what I thought of her. I told her that all she was interested in was getting into the sack.
... He d beaten her till she bled....What bothered him was that he still had sexual feelings for her.
(Camus 34) And the mere fact that Raymond only had sexual feelings shows the lack in value of
women. Meursault also shares this attitude towards women, specifically

Poverty and Underdevelopment of India
Health education linkages inequality in distribution of stock of human capital means underinvestment
on the one hand and mal investment on the other, as total and per capita stocks of human capital
figures in women and backward castes indicate. Perhaps, the main reason lies in the failure of human
investment revolution in economic thought to really revolutionize common thinking. individuals as
well as state policy makers still perceive education expenditure as consumption and as a burden on the
state which reduces public savings. it is misleading to treat public expenditures of backward castes
and women as welfare but must be treated as capital formation .
Poverty and underdevelopment of India does not permit adequate investment in general, including
education. From the private angle, weaker sections who should invest more in education have their
present consumption needs focusing on survival where education is perceived as luxury. Even if
people took loans, they prefer investment in more tangible and resale able assets which yield higher
ROR in short gestation periods to investment in human capital. The state is constrained by its
available resources and by its welfare expenditure approach to education. Further, the capital market is
too poorly organized to provide funds for investment in education. Thus to bring equity in distribution
of human capital between different groups serious efforts have to be made towards reducing
discrimination in schooling, improving

Solution Of Air Pollution Joe Science Auto Grader, Grade: 94 A paper rater Causes, Problems, and Cures for Air Pollution When people think of air pollution, they most immediately picture heavy smog drifting over cities and industrial plants. This is the first and most evident form of air pollution. To better understand the subject, we need to define the term air pollution. Air pollution is the presence in or introduced into the air of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects. These substances linger and cause many adverse problems. Humans and other living creations rely on the atmosphere for reparation. When air quality is dampened by pollution, immediate and long term consequences take place. Pollution has caused allergies, disease, damage to crops, and even death. It is important that we fully understand the causes, problems, and possible solutions of air pollution so that we can make an educated decision for Earth s future. There are many causes of air pollution. We can divide air pollutants into two categories. there are invisible and visible air pollutants. The smog you might see lingering over a city is a good example of visible air pollution. Invisible air pollutants are obviously not as noticeable, but they can be just as deadly, if not more so. Within the council itself, the decision making process resembles that of a two house congress in one body, with the older brothers , the nations of the Mohawk and Onondaga, and younger brothers , the nations of the Cayuga and Oneida each comprising a side of the house. Between these two distinct houses, the older brothers of the Mohawk and Onondaga occupy an executive role, hence its name, and possess a veto that could be overridden by both the younger brothers as part of the process. The resulting decision by the Mohawk and Onondaga are not final, however, as the head chief of the organization, known as the Hononwiretonh, whose duty is to sit and listen to the debate, is the final voice within this decision process. Management manipulated earnings in order to make the numbers appear good so they will in turn receive a bonus. Companies such as Enron, WorldCom, and Global Crossing had a board of directors that simply were not doing their job of overseeing the financial reporting (Petra, 2006). Fraudulent activities were caused by conflicts of interest between the directors and executive officers. Accountants and auditors helped deceive the public by certifying that the financial statements were true and correct of fraudulent corporations. Incentives drove auditors behaviors to create this hidden fraudulent activity between the client and the auditor. The fear of losing the client almost guaranteed that the auditor would comply with the management s decisions. Unfortunately, investors placed their faith in the auditors reports, which certified the net income was accounted for correctly. With the support of the auditors behaviors, these large corporations were able to hide the fraud for a long time. • 13. Western View Of Human Nature This week we have learned about four different views of human nature. The two views that I found most interesting were the the traditional western view and the Darwinian challenge to the traditional western view. In the Darwinian challenge, Charles Darwin argued that humans developed from nonhuman animals. The strengths of Darwin s arguments are that he used fossils to support his claims. The fossils are real evidence that everyone can look at and examine and they do show how humans have developed over the years. The weaknesses of his arguments are that he undermined the idea that living things and their parts are designed for a purpose. The next argument I found interesting was the the traditional western view. In this view Plato argues that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. An International Criminal Court The establishment of an international criminal court was a slow, arduous process. Following the horrific human rights violations committed by the Nazis in World War II, the global community began to take the proper steps to combat the notion that being at war sanctions gross abuses of human rights. It was not a lust for violence that elongated the process of establishing the ICC (international criminal court), but rather the long time battle between accepting that the world is increasingly affected by globalization and holding fast to the age old tradition of prizing state sovereignty above all. The scale of the genocide carried out against all peoples not of Aryan descent in the 1940s was the catalyst needed to start talks about prizing guaranteed rights over the incessant need to abide by antiquated customary law. Whilst many argue that the ICC and ad hoc tribunals such as the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) fail to provide a comprehensive international legal framework, they serve other important purposes. Firstly, the ICC and its parent tribunals played a major part in ending the culture of impunity. • 35. Essay on Comparison of Into My Heart and I remember I... Comparison of Into My Heart and I remember I remember Both poems are about the past and are similar in many ways, but I remember, I remember seems much more upbeat about the past than into my heart A.E. Housman s poem describes the lost content of a speaker who is made unhappy when he realises the happy times he had when he was young are gone forever. In Thomas Hood s poem the speaker is also made unhappy when he is made aware that he can never re visit those happy times he experienced as a child. They both explain the same idea in a different way; Into my heart makes its point in an obviously sombre way, but I remember I remember creates two moods: a happy and bucolic mood with images of his beautiful ... It is a memory from a long time ago that is very different from the life that the speaker is now leading. The memories seem happy because the symbolic landscape is rural and idyllic. This landscape has hills, farms and spires, which suggest that the speaker once led a simple life, which is very different from the life he is now leading, and a life to which he can never return. I remember, I remember uses a child s perspective to represent the past: the little window where the sun came peeping in at morn, and he thought the fir trees dark and high were close against the sky because that is how gigantic they mu st seem, to a child who is not yet fully grown. Each stanza focuses on a different detail of his past, but they all use the same structure, in every stanza a pleasant memory is said, followed by how upset he is that he can never experience it again, in Fact he is so upset that he wants to die and there are many references to death in the poem: I often wish the night had borne my breath away! and [The] summer pools could hardly cool the fever on my brow! are just two examples. His memories are full of bright colours and natural imagery, the reds and whites, roses, violets and lilies, swallows, feathers, summer pools and fresh air, all help to make the speakers memories more vivid and fresh. • 36. The Conflict Between Christian Faith And Those Of Islamic... As a global collective, the human past is purely one of conflict. Power struggles are widespread and unique in context, but these struggles are not special in the presence or complexity of the self versus other conflict within them. One of the strongest examples for this assertion is the First Crusades. At face value, any observer can immediately take notice of the separation between those of Christian faith and those of Islamic faith. If additional diligence in research is provided, any one of these observers begins to find the endlessly deeper self versus other struggles present on both sides, specifically amongst the Christian military. Numerous accounts from Christian actors serve to support this argument; the recorded thoughts of both soldiers and intellectuals detail the surprising amount of divisions between what should be the Christian united. The relationship between the self and the other present in the mindset of the actors of the Crusades shows that a definite, dynamic, yet necessary division between all groups of people exists, no matter the already established bonds of any collective. One of the most complicated pieces to the self versus other puzzle is the dynamic nature of its idealistic segregation. Each person involved with the First Crusade had an undeniable loyalty to God. In an effort seemingly meant to cultivate more glory, some saw it fitting to sacrifice established intercommunity bonds for the sake of peer provided glory. The glory promised by Pope ... The 1920 s gave way to the rise of alcohol culture, through the 18th amendment by the outlawing of the sale, transportation, and manufacturing of alcohol. The subsequent public disobedience of prohibition led to a corruption of morals, government, and the emergence of organised crime which still plagues America today. Prohibition was a time that garnered immense crime, poverty and passion. The demand for alcohol during prohibition allowed gangsters to take over the newly defunct alcohol industry. This illegal commerce made gangsters and their personnel millionaires, for the first time the American dream, going from rags to riches, was conceptualized and realized. ... • 39. Misrepresentation Of Chinese Culture Nowadays, some chinese culture are misrepresented by people in other countries. In the essay,I will talk about three kinds of misrepresentation of Chinese culture. Due to the movie montage and some exaggerated shooting techniques, some foreigners have a deep misunderstanding of Chinese Kung Fu (like Kung Fu dodge and the internal strength). However, the essence of Chinese martial arts is to move as much in order to keep fit and keep calm. People who practice the martial arts, naturally have more strength and good at fighting. But all these achievements were based on the perennial hard work. It s ridiculous to consider using a few days to learn Chinese Kung Fu. When I talked with my American friends, the most common answers I get are Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Kungfu. Honestly, kung fu is such a mysterious thing to me. The representation of Kung Fu in China has a large difference from those in the US movies. We call it the type of martial arts Wu Shu (Wu refers to martial arts;Shu means a hero). Because I grew up with a lot of martial arts novels, I was glad meet a martial arts artist called Christopher Pei who was the first Kung Fu artist I have ever seen. The first thing master Pei told me was Kung Fu s misunderstanding of martial arts ( martial arts or discipline ,an exhibition of traditional Chinese martial arts and all in one sports.) To be aware of this fact, I felt a bit disappointed. I believe that Kung Fu is a generation after generation of secrets, only in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Effects Of Wetlands On The Environment Essay WETLANDS wetlands are defined as transitional land between terrestrial and aquatic systems where the water table is usually at or near the surface or the land is covered by shallow water. (Cowardin et al.,1979).Wetlands are one of the most productive life support systems in the world characterized with waterlogged soils and recognized for their unique role in regulating global biogeochemical cycles (Reddy and DeLaune, 2008). In the context of global biogeochemical budgets, it is the carbon (C) cycle that wetlands influence the most. carbon density of wetlands are higher among all other ecosystems due to its high productivity and slow decomposition rates, (Kayranli et al., 2010 ). Recent works by the Ramsar Convention s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP), states that there are evidences showing importance and under estimated role of wetlands in both carbon storage and the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.(2) significant amount of carbon dioxide is emitted through degradation of wetlands . Wetlands play an important role in regulating exchanges of greenhouse gases (water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide) to and from the atmosphere . They depending on temporal ,spatial and typical features ,wetlands tend to be sinks for carbon and nitrogen and sources for methane and sulphur compounds..3 (figre 1) fig 1 All types of wetlands have the capability of sequestering and storing carbon through photosynthesis ... Those who don t, are either labeled as defiant or as a non conformist. One who defies societal rules doesn t necessarily disobey deliberately, but rather because one s own beliefs don t parallel. In the novel The Stranger by Albert Camus there is a prevalence of characters breaking societal rules, but as a result these characters face the consequences. Albert Camus connects these actions to the overarching themes of the books in order to convey his message more effectively. The sub theme of femininity is prevalent throughout the novel, however it is much more minor compared to the larger ideas Albert Camus shares. Femininity is a theme that goes hand in hand with Absurdism throughout the novel. It is through Meursault s indifference to love and women that this theme becomes present. It is not a directly expressed much like the others. Not only Meursault expresses this, but also Raymond. At the point in the novel after Raymond finds that his girlfriend cheated on him and used Meursault to write the letter, Raymond shares with Meursault the actions he took upon his girlfriend as if it were a righteous act. • 42. Poverty and Underdevelopment of India Health education linkages inequality in distribution of stock of human capital means underinvestment on the one hand and mal investment on the other, as total and per capita stocks of human capital figures in women and backward castes indicate. Perhaps, the main reason lies in the failure of human investment revolution in economic thought to really revolutionize common thinking. individuals as well as state policy makers still perceive education expenditure as consumption and as a burden on the state which reduces public savings. it is misleading to treat public expenditures of backward castes and women as welfare but must be treated as capital formation . Poverty and underdevelopment of India does not permit adequate investment in general, including education. From the private angle, weaker sections who should invest more in education have their present consumption needs focusing on survival where education is perceived as luxury. Even if people took loans, they prefer investment in more tangible and resale able assets which yield higher ROR in short gestation periods to investment in human capital. The state is constrained by its available resources and by its welfare expenditure approach to education. Further, the capital market is too poorly organized to provide funds for investment in education. Thus to bring equity in distribution of human capital between different groups serious efforts have to be made towards reducing discrimination in schooling, improving ...
