Human Public Toilets For World Toilet Day Essay
On the contrary to public knowledge, November 19th is a United Nations (UN) observance for World
Toilet Day. Although it is unclear as to who invented the first latrine, for Homo sapiens, public toilets
are one of the major markers for sophistication as a species. With eradicating unrestricted urination
and defecation behaviors, this helps humans to keep cities clean and overall reduces the risk of
disease.
With this knowledge at hand, one could infer that other mammals have adapted this same behavior of
sharing toilet spaces. In fact, rather than excreting randomly, many mammals have specific sites
assigned for this activity. These sites are assigned to specific locations that are away from where the
animals reside to sleep and feed.
However, where Homo sapiens differ from other mammals, is that human public toilets are designed
primarily for sanitation purposes. As described by the United Nations, World Toilet Day, on 19
November, is about taking action to reach the 2.4 billion people living without a toilet, (UN 2016).
The United Nations then further express how sanitation is a global development priority, and how
sanitation, or lack of, can impact the livelihood of people (UN 2016).
In contrast, other mammal communal latrines serve a more unique purpose than just health. Not to
neglect sanitation as being an important factor in the overall survival of a group, but other mammals
have devised more diverse ways to use their excreta. These communal latrines seem to have

Essay about Neurotransmitters
Neurotransmitters
Neurotransmitters are chemicals made by neurons and used by them to transmit signals to the other
neurons or non neuronal cells (e.g., skeletal muscle; myocardium, pineal glandular cells) that they
innervate. The neurotransmitters produce their effects by being released into synapses when their
neuron of origin fires (i.e., becomes depolarized) and then attaching to receptors in the membrane of
the post synaptic cells. This causes changes in the fluxes of particular ions across that membrane,
making cells more likely to become depolarized, if the neurotransmitter happens to be excitatory, or
less likely if it is inhibitory.
Neurotransmitters can also produce their effects by modulating the production of other ... Show more

Some dopaminergic (i.e., dopamine releasing) neurons run from the substantia nigra to the corpus
striatum; their loss gives rise to the clinical manifestations of Parkinson s Disease (Korczyn 1994);
others, involved in the rewarding effects of drugs and natural stimuli, run from the mesencephalon to
the nucleunucleus accumbens.
The second neurotransmitter family includes amino acids, compounds that contain both an amino
group (NH2) and a carboxylic acid group (COOH) and which are also the building blocks of peptides
and proteins. The amino acids known to serve as neurotransmitters are glycine, glutamic and aspartic
acids, all present in all proteins, and gamma amino butyric acid (GABA), produced only in brain
neurons. Glutamic acid and GABA are the most abundant neurotransmitters within the central nervous
system, particularly in the cerebral cortex; glutamic acid tends to be excitatory and GABA inhibitory.
Aspartic acid and glycine subserve these functions in the spinal cord (Cooper, Bloom, and Roth 1996).
The third neurotransmitter family is composed of peptides, compounds that contain at least two and
sometimes as many as 100 amino acids. Peptide neurotransmitters are poorly understood: Evidence
that they are, in fact, transmitters tends to be incomplete, and restricted to their location within nerve
terminals, and the physiologic effects produced when they are applied to neurons. Probably the best
understood peptide

1928 Olympics Research Paper
In the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympic Games, Canada had a tremendous amount of success. In
fact, it is considered Canada s Golden Age of Sport. Canada won a total of 15 medals. Comparatively,
in the previous Olympic Games, the 1924 Olympics to be specific, Canada only won a total of 4
medals. This rapid increase in success caught the interest and imagination of Canada. It motivated the
nation to engage in recreational sports, especially for women as female athletes had immensely
evolved following the 1928 Olympics. In addition, track and field for both men and women in the
1928 Olympics was a major success as Canada had a total medal count of 8 in track and field. The
track and field section of the Olympics for Canada also witnessed a ... Show more content on

The triumph of the athletes in the track and field division of the 1928 Olympics entertained the people
which led to them wanting to contribute to their countries success as well. The nationalism within
these Canadian citizens kicked in as they wanted to represent their country at the Olympics and
prolong Canada s victories. Furthermore, children were growing up in the midst of this major
Canadian Olympic success which sparked a passion for them at a young age for sports like track and
field. While participating in sports such as track and field these children realized how amazing this
sport really is which ultimately led to them wanting to achieve success professionally and represent
their country in the process. As you can see, track and field was really modernized and started gaining
popularity following the 1928 summer

Nursing Intervention Essay
Introduction
The county identified for investigation of its health problems is Prince George s (PG) county, which is
one of the 24 counties in Maryland. PG is located along the eastern edge of Washington, D.C. Some
health problems experienced by the community are diabetes and the related comorbidity, heart disease.
According to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene s Maryland Vital Statistics
Annual Report 2011, the age adjusted death rate for Prince George s County ranked third in diabetes
and eighth in heart diseases among 24 Maryland jurisdictions (Institute for Public Health Innovation,
2014). This paper seeks to assess the health problems facing the PG community, identify a priority

John Smith And Pocahontas Analysis
Within two passages, The (Untrue) Story of John Smith and Pocahontas and The General History of
Virginia the capturing of John Smith is portrayed. The story of the capturing and rescuing of John
Smith is briefly documented in this form: John Smith was captured by a person claimed as Powhatan,
who was understood to be the tributary leader of several tribes on the tidal rivers and creeks. One day,
Warriors associated with Powhatan captured Captain John Smith in the late 1607 and threatened to kill
him. However, within a month of his capture, Smith was free, in Jamestown, and reporting that he had
concluded an arrangement in which Powhatan would provide the colonists with food. The stories do
show this historical event rather variously. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a mere glance at the passage, one can see that Pocahontas is mentioned about twice during the
whole duration. In paragraph two, through Smith s perspective, it says: After they had presented him
with a feast in their best barbarous manner, they held a long discussion. At the end of that discussion,
two great stones were brought before Powhatan. Then, as many of them as could do so grabbed
Captain Smith. They dragged him to them and laid his head on the stones, ready with their clubs to
beat out his brains. But Pocahontas, the King s dearest daughter, begged them to stop. When her
entreaties failed, she put his head in her arms and laid her own upon his to save him from death. Upon
seeing this, the Emperor was contented that Captain Smith should live . From this, we can see that
Pocahontas did not rescue Smith s life as said in The (Untrue) Story of John Smith and Pocahontas .
Using the story from both passages The (Untrue) Story of John Smith and Pocahontas and The
General History of Virginia it is possible to compare and contrast the

The Ironic Theories Of Mind
For centuries, inquisitive minds have struggled to comprehend the notion of a non physical soul. They
attempted to explain the soul using tangible, representative parts of the human body. Throughout
history, scientists and philosophers have explained the representative theories of mind using a variety
of logical and experimental techniques. The logical arguments produced cardiovascular and ventricle
theories of the mind, and the experimental techniques led to the encephalic theory of mind and
medical practices like phrenology and more recently MRI brain scanning.
The Greek philosopher Empedocles presented the first mind/soul theory, suggesting the heart and
blood were the physical embodiment of the mind/soul. Empedocles cardiocentric view was later
termed the cardiovascular theory. Empedocles believed the mind/soul resided in the heart and blood
because both were centrally located within the body. Another well known philosopher, Aristotle,
agreed with Empedocles belief, but used anatomical observation, instead of logic, to support his claim.
Aristotle observed a warm heart and a cold brain while conducting dissections of the deceased. During

The encephalic view, popularized by Alcmaeon of Croton, considered the brain to be the physical
expression of the soul/mind. The great physician, Hippocrates, reinforced Alcmaeon of Croton with
his clinical study of epilepsy. Epilepsy, at the time, was perceived as a spiritual problem. However,
Hippocrates strayed from the church s teaching, believing the disease could be explained by natural
causes within the brain. The Greek anatomist, Herophilus, gathered further information supporting the
encephalic view through careful observation of specialized brain structures. Erasistratus, another
Greek anatomist, supported the encephalic view with his study of comparative

Things Fall Apart Research Paper
Racial tensions dominate both the issues in Ferguson and the culture in the novel Things Fall Apart by
Chinua Achebe causing the destruction of the status quo and pointless violence. In both cases, racial
tension leads to inessential violence and death while causing the public to rise up and question what is
going on in their community.
In Things Fall Apart and during the unrest in Ferguson innocent people were killed. After Okonkwo
returned from exile he was devastated by the state of his tribe. Angered by the changes the white men
had brought upon the village he executed one of their messengers (Achebe 189). This tension between
the white men and the Igbo people triggered Okonkwo to take the life of a harmless messenger. The

Following Michael Brown s death, great public outcry rang out across the country. Throughout the
United States riots promoting racial equality were staged. N.A.A.C.P. president, Cornell Williams
Brooks, said, We marched because Eric Garner mattered. We marched because our children s lives
matter. Black lives matter. We march because all lives matter (Yokley). Many African Americans
questioned methods of police and other governmental run agencies. As a result of these riots and
protests an investigation was run in the Ferguson police department. The results showed the police did
not treat both blacks and whites equally (Ferguson Unrest). Consequently, changes were made to the
Ferguson police situation. While changes ended up being made in Ferguson, they were not in
Okonkwo s village. Following the white men coming to the community, a large portion of the tribe
converted to Christianity and joined the white men. Just like in Ferguson several members of the
community, including Okonkwo and Obierika, questioned this lifestyle. On page 170, the novel says,
He mourned for the warlike men of Umuofia, who had so unaccountably become soft like women
(Achebe). Okonkwo believed part of the white men s culture made the tribe soft and would not
tolerate it. Racial tensions in both Ferguson and Umuofia led members of the community to

Analysis Of Paulo Freire s The Banking Theory Concept...
In the essay The Banking Concept of Education, Paulo Freire creates the argument that teachers
simply deposit knowledge into students and the students then only store the deposits, without having
any input of their own. He says that the student records, memorizes, and repeats these phrases without
perceiving what four times four really means.... (318).
The teacher teaches and the students are taught; the teacher chooses and enforces his choice, and the
students comply; the teacher chooses the program content, and the students (who were not consulted)
adapt to it. Those are only some of the points made by Freire in the banking theory. Although Freire is
talking about education, this theory can also be applied to modern day advertisement. Companies
plaster advertisements anywhere they can, from billboards to television screens, telling viewers what
they need to look like, act like, be like, and talk like, while the viewers simply take in that information
and conform to it.
In this Sisley advertisement, two models are snorting what would be expected to be cocaine, but
instead it is a white dress. The words Fashion Junkie are printed underneath the brand name. The
bright white of the dress creates a contrast with the pitch black background, creating an atmosphere of
darkness. Additionally, both models are caked with heavy eye makeup, and the model on the right has
her eyes rolled back giving the appearance of being high. This Sisley advertisement uses Freire s

Corruption In Culture
Why corruption is rampant in sport?
Corrupt Culture
Corruption has always existed in society and no country will get rid of it entirely. Many people
considered that political corruption is a cultural issue. Some of them also stated that gift giving is part
of our culture and often be used to quibble their corrupt acts (Larmour, 2012). However, people should
not confuse gift giving with bribery or corruption and culture should not long be the excuse of culture.
In fact, it is unreasonable to assume that political culture are inherently corrupt and rooted in any
society. Political leaders violate social and political norms do not mean that there are no norms
(Alatas, 1968). Corruption in politics is the result that political leaders rationally make and
economically calculated. In this situation, culture does not play a vital role in this decision. Since
corruption is not a cultural circumstance in politics, anti corruption programs might be efficiently
implemented. This is because the prevention will not focus on the changes of culture, instead it could
aim at the vulnerabilities of a particular moment in corruption history.
However, corruption in sport is different from political corruption that there exists a specific and
vulnerable environment for corruption. It is mentioned by Boniface (et al., 2012) that most players are
trained and live in a closed environment. Under the tremendous pressure from medical advisors and
sports management, their behavior are controlled and

Sql Injection Attacks, Prevention Techniques, And Why It...
CS674 Shankar Subedi
[ SQL Injection Attacks, Prevention Techniques, and Why It Matters]
SQL injection attacks pose a serious security threat and it has become a predominant type of attacks
that target web applications utilizing the backend databases. It allows attackers to obtain unauthorized
access to the database and retrieve potentially sensitive information. These attacks are launched
through specially crafted input to trick the database into executing any SQL queries. In this paper I
will present a review of different types of SQL injection and how they could be performed. I will also
analyze some of prevention techniques available to mitigate the SQL injection attacks. Finally, I will
discuss why it is very important and needs considerable attention.

training and access in local clubs nationwide. Since then the number and range of technology
programs have expanded. These programs have introduced computers to youth in thousands of sites
nationwide and reportedly changed the intellectual and learning characteristics of clubs once
predominantly known for athletic activities (Branch Associates 2004). Computers are becoming
givens in Boys Girls Clubs.
Research has shown the importance of BGCA technology programs given the lack of options, high
quality access points for club members, such as in the home (Henriquez and Ba 2000). Other research
has demonstrated that positive learning outcomes are associated with this access and with Club Tech
in particular

Dulce Et Decorum Est Irony Essay
Wilfred Owen exhibits the intense fear of warfare through Dulce Et Decorum Est . Owen wakens the
memories of the passing of one of his allies. He had succumbed to the excruciating pain of sulfur gas
right before Owen s eyes, leaving him traumatized. Dulce Et Decorum Est is an allegory for bound, ill
fated camaraderie. Through the use of oxymora, imagery, and allusion, Owen is able demonstrate core
shaking loss. Using final words of the poem, Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori, Owen makes an
allusion to Roman poet Horace s Odes. The Latin phrase translates to: it is sweet and fitting to die for
one s country. This saying becomes the centerpiece of the poem s irony. Firsthand experience with war

The Public School System Of Education
The public school system of education in the United States of America needs to change for many
different reason, we not only need for our schools to change we need it to be done as soon as possible.
We live in a society where our children are failing to meet the academic standards or enhanced their
social skills to be prepared for the outside world. My second reason for our schools to change is that
they are overcrowded for insists one teacher in one classroom can teach up to 15 to 20 kids. My last
reason is the budget for our schools, we are losing funding for many different things raging from
materials to creative classes.
Besides parents themselves teachers are extremely important because they are the key to our children s
education future. Madeline Levine said ( One thing we know for sure is that kids learn better when
teachers are invested and paying attention and showing they care. ) Which is very true, you see
without teachers our kids would be sitting ducks however, it is also up to us the parents to teach our
kids as John Hood said in his article ( Providing students opportunities at school does not guarantee
success if student watch television rather than do their homework and parents let them. ) We as the
parents and teachers need some type of communication and understanding because our children are
failing, some are struggle to meet the academic standards. The school board created this program
called no child left behind and you would think that is a good thing

Book Review of The Face of Battle by John Keegan Essay
THE FACE OF BATTLE
John Keegan, the author of The Face of Battle is allowing the reader to view different perspective of
history, from the eyes of the soldier. Although by his own account, Keegan acknowledges, I have
never been in a battle. And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle
can be like. Keegan scorns historians for pointing the finger of failure after an evolution occurs and
not examining the soldier s point of view while the battle is transpiring.
Keegan chooses the three well documented campaigns of Agincourt in 1415, Waterloo in 1815, and
Somme in 1916 to answer the question of his thesis: To find out how men who are faced with the
threat of single missile and multiple missile ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
King Henry V sought to regain some French territory lost in the Hundred Year War and set out on a
120 mile journey to Maisoncelles where the English came head to head, or 300 yards, with the French.
The English bowmen enticed the French to action and when the French responded they were met at
the English line which consisted of three groups and archers on the right and left. Keegan goes on to
tell of how the different groups of warriors affected each other: the archers versus the cavalry and
infantry, the cavalry versus infantry, and infantry versus infantry. The worse effect must have been on
the French soldiers that after the order was given to kill all survivors unless they were rich, noblemen,
or worth a ransom. The third chapter, titled Waterloo, June 18th, 1815 , skips ahead four hundred years
to Waterloo in 1815 after Napoleon returned from his exile in Elba to face the Prussians and the
British soldiers. Keegan gives an extremely thorough look at the battle evolution and breaks the
timeline down into five phases: diversion, weakening the center front with artillery, further weakening
the center front with cavalry, infantry attack, Prussia reserve arrival and Napoleon s defeat. Keegan
goes on to describe how no soldier on either side would have been able to view the entire battlefield
and how the events of combat for eight straight hours, after already going through a skirmish with the

Homo Neanderthalensis- the Neanderthals
Since their discovery more than a century ago, the Neanderthals have hovered over the minds and
have baffled the best laid theories of paleoanthropologists. They seem to fit in the general scheme of
human evolution, and yet they re misfits. (Jurmain, Kilgore, Trevathan and Ciochon. p.367) In a way
they are like us the modern Homo sapiens but yet are a very different species. But the real question
that needs to be answered is why the Neanderthals were considered a different species than the Homo
sapiens and what made them go extinct?
The first Neanderthal remains were discovered in the year of 1856 in Germany. This discovery of a
skullcap and partial skeleton in a cave in the Neander Valley (near Dusseldorf) was the first

Viewed from the side, the occipital bone is somewhat bun shaped. The forehead rises more vertically
than that of a H. Erectus, and the brow ridges arch over the orbits instead of forming a straight bar.
The Neanderthals were robust, barrel chested, powerfully muscled. They also had a large, thick skull,
a sloping forehead, and a chinless jaw. This robust skeletal structure, in fact, dominates hominin
evolution from H. Erectus through all premodern forms. (Jurmain, Kilgore, Trevathan and Ciochon.
p.370). Neanderthals had a compact body of short stature. Males averaged 1.7 m (5ft 5in) tall and an
estimate to weigh 84kg (185lb), and females averaged 1.5 m (5ft) tall and an estimate 80kg (176lb).
(Smithsonian 2007c). Neanderthals also differed from modern Homo Sapiens in that they had a low
forehead, double arched brow ridge, larger nasal area, projecting cheek region, weak chin, obvious
space behind the third molar, heavily built bones, broad scapula, short lower leg and arm bones
relative to the upper portions, occasional bowing of the limb bones, the hip rotated outward, a long
and thin pubic bone, and large joint surfaces of the toes and long bones. (Smithsonian 2007c).
Neanderthals had noses that were broad and very large. They had limb bones that were thick and had
large joints which indicate they had strongly muscled arms and legs. The shin bones and forearms
tended to be shorter than those of modern humans. The pelvis was wider from side to side

Early Contractor Procurement Essays
Summary
Intro
What is early contractor procurement?
Early Contractor Procurement is a way to get the contractor involved before the construction phase
begins, (Mosey, 2011). The idea of this is to make use of the contractor and their knowledge and
understanding of the construction industry. This means fewer disputes over design issues.
When the client has invested time and money into design, and the contractor isn t involved, and then is
expected to complete all the work, it is likely for there to be disputes but the client would be missing
out on the contractor s ideas on how to save on costs. So is partnering up early on and getting to know
the job, the client and its goals the right way to go?
When this is done it is called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers join the project team as early as possible and
participate in appropriate stages of
Design review and specialist design contributions, including added value proposals n issues such as
sustainability;
Risk management and value engineering to reduce costs;
Price finalisation through second tier tenders or supplemental works package business cases;
Construction phase programming, to establish deadlines for the key deliverables of all parties; (Mosey,
2011).
What is wrong with single stage tendering?
Single stage tendering prices are based on incomplete information. That the client has to understand
and take into consideration when looking into the risk of the project. This creates a false sense of
security and a situation where both parties are looking to pick holes in the design work. Robert Smith
calls it legalised gambling as the attractive apparent cost is balanced with the sureness with transfer of
risk (Smith, 1995) page 44, cited in (Mosey, 2011).
The single stage approach also excludes the contractor, its subcontractors and suppliers from
everything pre construction phase, meaning that they cannot contribute towards ways of saving costs.
So there is little that the client can do to make these changes as they didn t have this initial
communication (Mosey,

Although Foucault believes that people are not the authors of society, discourses are governed
independently of anyone s purpose (Learning Companion 2), the institutions he mentions help to keep
order in society, although he is concerned about who can claim the authority of who has the power to
rule how others should behave (Foucault cited by Silva, 2009, p319). When looking at Buchanans
report I have found his findings to be similar to Foucaults in the way that they believe that rules have
to be in place to have social order in society; Buchanan was commissioned to do his report by the UK
government in 1961 which was Traffic in Towns aimed at finding solutions for urban space to
accommodate pedestrians and cars. He found that social order was linked to the segregation of
humans and motor vehicles and the need to create an array of measures in urban design for the
regulation of the conduct of drivers and pedestrians, this vision is in contrast to Mondermans thesis of
a shared approach. Buchanans model assumes individuals should conform to rules and a state that
solves problems and looks after individual behaviour by having rules in place to help control
situations (Buchanan cited by Silva, 2009, p341). When comparing the differences and similarities of

The Bowenian Approach to Family Therapy Essay example
The Bowenian Approach to Family Therapy Summer D. Parrott Liberty University March 1, 2015
Abstract This paper will summarize the theory of family systems developed by Murray Bowen. It will
describe the eight key components to Bowenian therapy and the techniques used during practice.
Strengths and limitations will be exposed, followed by a summary of the importance of integration
between psychology and family systems theory. Keywords: Bowen, integration, family systems theory
Part I Introduction Bowen family systems theory is based on the view that the family is an emotional
unit. The theory uses systems thinking to describe the interactions and relationships within the family.

Those who are undifferentiated, on the other hand, react emotionally and impetuously. Unable to
maintain their own autonomy, they become fused with others in their family. Their emotional patterns
are in sync with other members and they have a difficult time separating what they feel from the
emotions of the family unit (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intelligence does not determine the level of
differentiation. Highly intelligent people can have low differentiation. The level of differentiation
refers to the degree in which a family member can think and act for themselves while dealing with an
emotional issue (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intimate relationships often include bouts of anxiety. In families,
as the anxiety increases between two people, they make seek to bring in a third person to attempt to
gain stability. This process is known as triangulation. With the involvement of the third person, the
anxiety is spread across more people and appears to lighten. While the tension may appear to decrease,
the possibility of increasing the original problem persists. With three players now involved, the
original dyad fails to solve the problem which caused the anxiety to begin with (Bevcar, 2009). Bowen
researchers consider triangles to be a normal part of relationships. Triangles are the basis of Bowen s
multigenerational theory (Rabstejnek, 2012). If anxiety and reactivity can be properly managed,

Essay on Fredrick Douglass
After reading the Narrative of the Life of Fredrick Douglass, An American Slave, I have received a
better understanding of the life of a slave. Douglass has a way of explaining the trials and tribulations
of a slave, which makes the reader, look at the situations in a different perspective. Douglass narrative
was originally oral and he eventually sat down and wrote it as story of events of that time during his
life. I believe he wrote it not just to tell his story but for other abolitionists of the time to actually feel
what the slaves went through.

Douglass main argument in the narrative was to end the institution of slavery as a whole. His goal was
to appeal to the middle class people of that time and convince them to get on board with the
abolitionist movement. Douglass had a great writing style that was descriptive as well as convincing.
He uses standard English instead of the vernacular which showed his intelligence. He stays away from
expressing personal emotion because someone who is filled with emotion is not rational. If he was too
engaged in his emotions he would not be taken seriously, you had to be rational in order to convince
the northern abolitionists. Also staying away from the horrific details of the time help him grasp the
attention of the women who in turn would convince their husbands to help by donating money and
eventually ending slavery. He used his words effectively in convincing the readers that the slave
owners were inhuman and showed how they had no feelings for other human beings. He also attempts
to portray them as corrupt Christians. The churches at the time were losing their parishioners and their
congregations. If Douglass successfully proved them as corrupt Christians the ministers would also
jump on board for the movement, and their support was a necessity.
I feel as though Douglass had a great argument about the treatment of African Americans at the time

Eight Chemical Reactions
There are many reaction types that can occur when compounds come together to form different types
of products. In chemistry, there are eight different basic types of reactions. The eight basic reactions
include: combustion, synthesis, decomposition, precipitation, single replacement, double replacement,
acid/base, and redox reactions. These reactions are categorized into their reaction type by their
differences and similarities. The first type of reaction is combustion. A combustion reaction is when a
substance is combined with oxygen and releases heat and light energy. An example of a combustion
reaction is the combustion of hydrogen. When a balloon with oxygen and hydrogen is supplied with
heat by a candle, it triggers an explosive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another known name for this type of reaction is a displacement reaction. These type of solutions
mostly occur in liquid solution and the amount of energy used in this type of reaction is smaller than
that of a synthesis or decomposition reaction. In this type of reaction, in a compound, an element
replaces a similar element. For example we have elements A, B, and X. In this equation we heave
element A + compound BX. Element A will replace element B to form B + AX. (A + BX B + AX)
Another reaction is a double replacement. This reaction usually produces an insoluble gas or water.
Double replacement is when in two compounds, ions will exchange places in a liquid solution
(aqueous solution) to form a new compound. For example A, B, X, and Y are ions in the first part of
the equation, AX + BY. The ions X and Y will replace each other to form a new compound to form AY
+ BX. ( AX + BY AY + BY) A different type of reaction would be an acid/base reaction. This reaction
is a neutralization. An acid is a substances that looses protons which are H+ ions and a base is a
substance that receives protons. When equal amounts of protons are lost by an acid and the same
amounts of protons are being received by a base, they neutralize each other. That creates a product that
is neither acidic nor basic by the two substances (acid and a

of the powerful emperor that Schindler painted in Goeth s mind helped change his decisions to kill the
next two people he had a problem with and his merciful decision helped saved their lives. Through
these couple scenes, we evidently see how influential Schindler s persuasion and motivation is not
only on himself, but also with some of the most stringent people, such as Amon Goeth. Schindler s
self motivation is most powerfully shown when he changes his goal from making lots of money to

Doing Business in Another Country
Executive Summary
In order to successfully introduce a product into a foreign market it is important to know the culture of
the country you plan to do business in. In order to introduce mobile handsets into a market like
Venezuela, the supplier must be well acclimated with the purchasing habits, tastes, and willingness to
purchase the product that is being sold. Understanding these things starts with building a knowledge
base about the major aspects of the culture and your target consumer. With this being said I am
providing a brief overview of the country of Venezuela.
Venezuela boasts a population of well over 27 million, and represents a large potential market for any
firm looking to do business within the country, because it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is very intriguing for a society that has a high unemployment rate. Most of Venezuela s
population finds itself educated because public education is provided. Even though education is free,
there is an astounding 20 % of the population that has received no formal education at all. This is
outrageous because Venezuela has a compulsory educational system, which means that people are
required to by law to go to attend school for 9 years. This shows that even though education is
provided for free there are still families so poverty stricken that they are not able to send their children
to school; because they need to work to provide more support for the families. The children that do go
through the public education system can attend Universities which are also free. Although the
education in Venezuela is provided for free, this is also a reason why the education system is not the
greatest. Providing education from grade school through college stretches educational funds thin,
which results in each level of education being under funded. It has already been established that the
majority of the people of Venezuela are literate. In this society there are jobs that require the certain
skills such as a lawyers, judges, politicians, or businessmen etc; but in the society as a whole basic
skills are being seen as all that is required for the average person. As mentioned earlier Venezuela is a
society that relies heavily on the production of

Comparing The Code Of Chivalry In Sir Gawain And The Green...
In the days of knights, kings, and jousts, there existed the knightly code of chivalry. This code is seen
throughout medieval texts and is described as, a moral system which went beyond rules of combat and
introduced the concept of Chivalrous conduct qualities idealized by the Medieval knights such as
bravery, courtesy, honor and great gallantry toward women...The Code of Chivalry was the honor code
of the knight. The Code of Chivalry was an important part of the society and lives of people who lived
during the Medieval times and was understood by all. (Alchin). The respected knight not only
followed these rules, but also lived to serve a king. In the two tales of Sir Gawain and the Green
Knight and Morte D Arthur, three of the chivalrous rules are clear to see. In these two tales, the three
rules of the nights that are prevalent in the stories are, courage, honesty, and strength. In the first story,
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain also shows an immense amount of courage throughout the
story. One example of Gawain s courage is when he steps in for King Arthur to hit the Green Knight
with the axe. Courage, or valor, is described as, ...the strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to
encounter danger with firmness and personal bravery. (Kelly). When the Green Knight is mocking the
crowd of warriors, Arthur steps up to hit the man with an axe. Knowing the terms of the deal, Gawain
couldn t bring himself to allow his king to be struck with an axe. When Gawain

Donald Trump Sociology
Donald Trump s unprecedented victory in the presidential election has polarized the nation, to say the
least. Some individuals exult. For many other Americans, however, the election s outcome represents
the beginning of a regime where fear dominates the sociopolitical atmosphere. Trump has been readily
forthcoming with his aggressive anti immigration policy, which in its worst state included, among
other strategies, a promise to deport all illegal immigrants and a plan to reinforce the border with
Mexico. Opponents accuse the president elect of racist motivations because his policy plan appears to
create a hostile environment that explicitly targets Latino minority groups.
Indeed, Trump has inflated the issues surrounding Mexican immigration ... Show more content on

Trump connects problems that were once associated with African American ghettos to the newer
Latino enclaves. These problems are not cultural but systemic, according to Massey: The out
migration of middle class families from ghetto areas left behind a destitute community lacking the
institutions, resources, and values necessary for success in post industrial society. Socioeconomic
immobility caused by historic institutional racism against blacks created communities in Los Angeles
where economic hardship was the norm. Unlike other immigrant groups who possess certain
economic and racial characteristics conducive to success in the modern social climate of the United
States such as the Korean Americans, Latinos can only make a feasible living in the high poverty areas
which blacks once occupied and were consequently forced to inherit all the deeply embedded social
issues of those areas. A Mexican culture of crime thus does not cause the high incidence of crime in
Los Angeles s economically desperate neighborhoods as Trump would have the nation believe. Rather,
the crime stricken culture present in the inner city is the symptom of systemic and historical processes
which dictate the modern environment in

Women And Stereotypes Of Women In The Bachelor
The Bachelor is a T.V daring show, In the reality show the bachelor women are often portrayed as the
stereotypical woman. Women on the show all have this dainty appearance which also enforce
stereotypes of femininity like cattiness, and a dependency on men. In general, many of the women
who go on The Bachelor are portrayed as overly emotional, jealous, possessive or even crazy. The
Bachelor preserves a part of gender roles that include dating as well as marriage. The show displays a
particular kind of femininity that has to do with a world that is run by a man. The good girls are
defined by their passivity and commitment to real true love on are against the bad girls who seem to
be in the game for themselves or do not show the proper attitude. The shows grabs the audience by
displaying certain behaviors that some will be acceptable and another would not be acceptable for a
young women to act. The female contestant will have most likely a non traditional role and will often
hold weird job titles, instead often hold obscure job titles that imply unemployment, including free
spirit , dog lover , chicken enthusiast or even, twins (Rivera) . The makers of the show do that because
they want to make women seem leaser than or make it seem like they only have to depend on the man
to bring in the cash to the household. During the show women have to make sure they show emotion
however not to much emotion. Each characteristic the contestant has can not over shadow

Emily Dickinson s I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died
The Surprising Elements of I heard a Fly Buzz When I Died In some instances within literature,
writers surprise readers by incorporating ideas that the reader may or may not expect. Within Emily
Dickinson s poem I heard a Fly Buzz When I Died , readers are introduced to a ghostly speaker that
discusses the scene of their deathbed. Readers are exposed to many surprises throughout various
aspects of the poem. One aspect of the poem that surprises readers is the relationship between the
speaker and the fly .The first surprise involved in this relationship, is the combined revelation of the
fly and the speaker s death. As the poem begins, the speaker says to readers, I heard a fly buzz when I
died (Dickinson, 1). After reading that the speaker heard the buzz of a fly, readers may expect the
death of the fly or more detail on the fly itself. However, the speaker hits readers by telling them that
they heard the buzzing at the moment of their own death. Dickinson is immediately telling readers that
her poem contains supernatural elements that link to the fly. This may come as a shock to readers,
since they may ponder the significance of the fly within the speaker s death, as it is not yet revealed by
the end of the poem s first line. The relationship between the speaker and the fly continues to be
surprising, as the speaker describes the fly as the power that controls their life (the gateway between
life and death). The speaker says: There interposed a Fly With

Twyla Tharp Dance Analysis
On October twentieth, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Harris Center in Folsom Lake College, a dance
performance called Twyla Tharp Dance was exhibited by The Department of Dance. The dance
contained three shorter works with two intermissions. Each of the pieces were completely different
from each other because each piece had its own unique style so there was not a particular
classification. In any case, there was one particular piece called Country Dances choreographed by
Twyla Tharp was a fascinating piece in a way that it was there for amusement, as well as bringing
back the old dancing style to the audiences to remind them how great the old days were. Each dancer
of the piece truly understood their own character and danced to their own heart desires. ... Show more

For the dance piece called Country Dances . The utilization of space was wide because the dancers
were moving around the entire stage. However, they were mostly in the center of the stage so all the
audiences in the room could see them better. The timing and rhythm of this piece were perfect. The
movements the dancers make were all synchronized along with the music. It was like the song was
made for that specific piece. The use of movement qualities and dynamics convey feeling and tone to
the audience were smooth. It gives the audience a relaxing and peaceful feeling to watch and enjoy the
piece. Not to mention, the production elements such as lights, costumes, and music were important to
this piece. The lights were warm and bright which gave the audiences a feeling of the old days where
it was peaceful and fun. The costumes were a mixture of warm and cool colors because there are
dancers wore light green dress while some other female dancers who wore light orange dress. The
music peaceful and matched the mood for the piece

Suicide in Bartleby and Life in the Iron Mills Essay
Suicide in Bartleby and Life in the Iron Mills
Life in the Iron Mills and Bartleby are centered on characters who are alienated laborers, looking for
means through which they cannot be deprived of their humanity. Hugh Wolfe and Bartleby are both
workers who have been victimized by the capitalistic system. As Karl Marx explains, the capitalistic
system exploits the laborer and thus robs the laborer of his humanity through alienating the laborer.
Both Wolfe and Bartleby become victims of the system, for they are not only alienated and
dehumanized. But in their struggle against the system, they take their own lives. Their suicides are
representative of how far alienation reached into the lives of Bartleby and Wolfe and how far ... Show

I should have been quite regulated with his application, had he been cheerfully industrious. But he
wrote on silently, palely, mechanically. (Melville 9). This nature of working disturbed the employer
because he noticed the machine like style of Bartleby s. Bartleby s lack of human qualities bothered
the narrator, as he did later become concerned about Bartleby s condition and began to inquire of his
past.
It is evident that the alienation process has already begun to take hold on Bartleby, long before he took
the scrivener position. He is doing work for which he is being paid for and refuses to do any favors.
He knows that his labor is for sale and that he will do only what the lawyer s money buys, and nothing
more. Second, Bartleby makes it a point to explain that he would prefer not to do something, inserting
the fact that he is the one deciding. Through his disobedience and his repeating the phrase I would
prefer not to Bartleby was struggling to preserve his humanity. Bartleby refused to allow the lawyer to
exploit his labor and his energy. The manner in which he was trying so hard to preserve his autonomy
shows how he wished not to be further alienated from the work process, for he wanted control over
exactly what task he did or did not perform.
Later in the book we find Bartleby taking up residence at the office where he worked. When Bartleby
s employer approached him about the fact that he was living in the office and asked him to leave the

  • 2. Human Public Toilets For World Toilet Day Essay On the contrary to public knowledge, November 19th is a United Nations (UN) observance for World Toilet Day. Although it is unclear as to who invented the first latrine, for Homo sapiens, public toilets are one of the major markers for sophistication as a species. With eradicating unrestricted urination and defecation behaviors, this helps humans to keep cities clean and overall reduces the risk of disease. With this knowledge at hand, one could infer that other mammals have adapted this same behavior of sharing toilet spaces. In fact, rather than excreting randomly, many mammals have specific sites assigned for this activity. These sites are assigned to specific locations that are away from where the animals reside to sleep and feed. However, where Homo sapiens differ from other mammals, is that human public toilets are designed primarily for sanitation purposes. As described by the United Nations, World Toilet Day, on 19 November, is about taking action to reach the 2.4 billion people living without a toilet, (UN 2016). The United Nations then further express how sanitation is a global development priority, and how sanitation, or lack of, can impact the livelihood of people (UN 2016). In contrast, other mammal communal latrines serve a more unique purpose than just health. Not to neglect sanitation as being an important factor in the overall survival of a group, but other mammals have devised more diverse ways to use their excreta. These communal latrines seem to have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about Neurotransmitters Neurotransmitters Neurotransmitters are chemicals made by neurons and used by them to transmit signals to the other neurons or non neuronal cells (e.g., skeletal muscle; myocardium, pineal glandular cells) that they innervate. The neurotransmitters produce their effects by being released into synapses when their neuron of origin fires (i.e., becomes depolarized) and then attaching to receptors in the membrane of the post synaptic cells. This causes changes in the fluxes of particular ions across that membrane, making cells more likely to become depolarized, if the neurotransmitter happens to be excitatory, or less likely if it is inhibitory. Neurotransmitters can also produce their effects by modulating the production of other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some dopaminergic (i.e., dopamine releasing) neurons run from the substantia nigra to the corpus striatum; their loss gives rise to the clinical manifestations of Parkinson s Disease (Korczyn 1994); others, involved in the rewarding effects of drugs and natural stimuli, run from the mesencephalon to the nucleunucleus accumbens. The second neurotransmitter family includes amino acids, compounds that contain both an amino group (NH2) and a carboxylic acid group (COOH) and which are also the building blocks of peptides and proteins. The amino acids known to serve as neurotransmitters are glycine, glutamic and aspartic acids, all present in all proteins, and gamma amino butyric acid (GABA), produced only in brain neurons. Glutamic acid and GABA are the most abundant neurotransmitters within the central nervous system, particularly in the cerebral cortex; glutamic acid tends to be excitatory and GABA inhibitory. Aspartic acid and glycine subserve these functions in the spinal cord (Cooper, Bloom, and Roth 1996). The third neurotransmitter family is composed of peptides, compounds that contain at least two and sometimes as many as 100 amino acids. Peptide neurotransmitters are poorly understood: Evidence that they are, in fact, transmitters tends to be incomplete, and restricted to their location within nerve terminals, and the physiologic effects produced when they are applied to neurons. Probably the best understood peptide ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Canada won a total of 15 medals. Comparatively, in the previous Olympic Games, the 1924 Olympics to be specific, Canada only won a total of 4 medals. This rapid increase in success caught the interest and imagination of Canada. It motivated the nation to engage in recreational sports, especially for women as female athletes had immensely evolved following the 1928 Olympics. • 6. John Smith And Pocahontas Analysis Within two passages, The (Untrue) Story of John Smith and Pocahontas and The General History of Virginia the capturing of John Smith is portrayed. The story of the capturing and rescuing of John Smith is briefly documented in this form: John Smith was captured by a person claimed as Powhatan, who was understood to be the tributary leader of several tribes on the tidal rivers and creeks. One day, Warriors associated with Powhatan captured Captain John Smith in the late 1607 and threatened to kill him. However, within a month of his capture, Smith was free, in Jamestown, and reporting that he had concluded an arrangement in which Powhatan would provide the colonists with food. The stories do show this historical event rather variously. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In paragraph two, through Smith s perspective, it says: After they had presented him with a feast in their best barbarous manner, they held a long discussion. At the end of that discussion, two great stones were brought before Powhatan. Then, as many of them as could do so grabbed Captain Smith. They dragged him to them and laid his head on the stones, ready with their clubs to beat out his brains. But Pocahontas, the King s dearest daughter, begged them to stop. When her entreaties failed, she put his head in her arms and laid her own upon his to save him from death. Upon seeing this, the Emperor was contented that Captain Smith should live . From this, we can see that Pocahontas did not rescue Smith s life as said in The (Untrue) Story of John Smith and Pocahontas . • 8. The Ironic Theories Of Mind For centuries, inquisitive minds have struggled to comprehend the notion of a non physical soul. They attempted to explain the soul using tangible, representative parts of the human body. Throughout history, scientists and philosophers have explained the representative theories of mind using a variety of logical and experimental techniques. The logical arguments produced cardiovascular and ventricle theories of the mind, and the experimental techniques led to the encephalic theory of mind and medical practices like phrenology and more recently MRI brain scanning. The Greek philosopher Empedocles presented the first mind/soul theory, suggesting the heart and blood were the physical embodiment of the mind/soul. Empedocles cardiocentric view was later termed the cardiovascular theory. Empedocles believed the mind/soul resided in the heart and blood because both were centrally located within the body. Another well known philosopher, Aristotle, agreed with Empedocles belief, but used anatomical observation, instead of logic, to support his claim. Aristotle observed a warm heart and a cold brain while conducting dissections of the deceased. During Aristotle s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Hippocrates strayed from the church s teaching, believing the disease could be explained by natural causes within the brain. • 9. Things Fall Apart Research Paper Racial tensions dominate both the issues in Ferguson and the culture in the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe causing the destruction of the status quo and pointless violence. In both cases, racial tension leads to inessential violence and death while causing the public to rise up and question what is going on in their community. In Things Fall Apart and during the unrest in Ferguson innocent people were killed. After Okonkwo returned from exile he was devastated by the state of his tribe. Angered by the changes the white men had brought upon the village he executed one of their messengers (Achebe 189). This tension between the white men and the Igbo people triggered Okonkwo to take the life of a harmless messenger. The killing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following Michael Brown s death, great public outcry rang out across the country. Throughout the United States riots promoting racial equality were staged. N.A.A.C.P. president, Cornell Williams Brooks, said, We marched because Eric Garner mattered. We marched because our children s lives matter. Black lives matter. We march because all lives matter (Yokley). Many African Americans questioned methods of police and other governmental run agencies. As a result of these riots and protests an investigation was run in the Ferguson police department. The results showed the police did not treat both blacks and whites equally (Ferguson Unrest). Consequently, changes were made to the Ferguson police situation. While changes ended up being made in Ferguson, they were not in Okonkwo s village. Following the white men coming to the community, a large portion of the tribe converted to Christianity and joined the white men. Just like in Ferguson several members of the community, including Okonkwo and Obierika, questioned this lifestyle. On page 170, the novel says, He mourned for the warlike men of Umuofia, who had so unaccountably become soft like women (Achebe). • 10. Analysis Of Paulo Freire s The Banking Theory Concept... In the essay The Banking Concept of Education, Paulo Freire creates the argument that teachers simply deposit knowledge into students and the students then only store the deposits, without having any input of their own. He says that the student records, memorizes, and repeats these phrases without perceiving what four times four really means.... (318). The teacher teaches and the students are taught; the teacher chooses and enforces his choice, and the students comply; the teacher chooses the program content, and the students (who were not consulted) adapt to it. Those are only some of the points made by Freire in the banking theory. Although Freire is talking about education, this theory can also be applied to modern day advertisement. Companies plaster advertisements anywhere they can, from billboards to television screens, telling viewers what they need to look like, act like, be like, and talk like, while the viewers simply take in that information and conform to it. In this Sisley advertisement, two models are snorting what would be expected to be cocaine, but instead it is a white dress. The words Fashion Junkie are printed underneath the brand name. The bright white of the dress creates a contrast with the pitch black background, creating an atmosphere of darkness. Additionally, both models are caked with heavy eye makeup, and the model on the right has her eyes rolled back giving the appearance of being high. This Sisley advertisement uses Freire s ... • 11. Corruption In Culture Why corruption is rampant in sport? Corrupt Culture Corruption has always existed in society and no country will get rid of it entirely. Many people considered that political corruption is a cultural issue. Some of them also stated that gift giving is part of our culture and often be used to quibble their corrupt acts (Larmour, 2012). However, people should not confuse gift giving with bribery or corruption and culture should not long be the excuse of culture. In fact, it is unreasonable to assume that political culture are inherently corrupt and rooted in any society. Political leaders violate social and political norms do not mean that there are no norms (Alatas, 1968). Corruption in politics is the result that political leaders rationally make and economically calculated. In this situation, culture does not play a vital role in this decision. Since corruption is not a cultural circumstance in politics, anti corruption programs might be efficiently implemented. This is because the prevention will not focus on the changes of culture, instead it could aim at the vulnerabilities of a particular moment in corruption history. However, corruption in sport is different from political corruption that there exists a specific and vulnerable environment for corruption. It is mentioned by Boniface (et al., 2012) that most players are trained and live in a closed environment. Under the tremendous pressure from medical advisors and sports management, their behavior are controlled and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My last reason is the budget for our schools, we are losing funding for many different things raging from materials to creative classes. Besides parents themselves teachers are extremely important because they are the key to our children s education future. Madeline Levine said ( One thing we know for sure is that kids learn better when teachers are invested and paying attention and showing they care. ) Which is very true, you see without teachers our kids would be sitting ducks however, it is also up to us the parents to teach our kids as John Hood said in his article ( Providing students opportunities at school does not guarantee success if student watch television rather than do their homework and parents let them. ) We as the parents and teachers need some type of communication and understanding because our children are failing, some are struggle to meet the academic standards. • 31. Book Review of The Face of Battle by John Keegan Essay THE FACE OF BATTLE John Keegan, the author of The Face of Battle is allowing the reader to view different perspective of history, from the eyes of the soldier. Although by his own account, Keegan acknowledges, I have never been in a battle. And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle can be like. Keegan scorns historians for pointing the finger of failure after an evolution occurs and not examining the soldier s point of view while the battle is transpiring. Keegan chooses the three well documented campaigns of Agincourt in 1415, Waterloo in 1815, and Somme in 1916 to answer the question of his thesis: To find out how men who are faced with the threat of single missile and multiple missile ... King Henry V sought to regain some French territory lost in the Hundred Year War and set out on a 120 mile journey to Maisoncelles where the English came head to head, or 300 yards, with the French. The English bowmen enticed the French to action and when the French responded they were met at the English line which consisted of three groups and archers on the right and left. Keegan goes on to tell of how the different groups of warriors affected each other: the archers versus the cavalry and infantry, the cavalry versus infantry, and infantry versus infantry. The worse effect must have been on the French soldiers that after the order was given to kill all survivors unless they were rich, noblemen, or worth a ransom. The third chapter, titled Waterloo, June 18th, 1815 , skips ahead four hundred years to Waterloo in 1815 after Napoleon returned from his exile in Elba to face the Prussians and the British soldiers. Keegan gives an extremely thorough look at the battle evolution and breaks the timeline down into five phases: diversion, weakening the center front with artillery, further weakening the center front with cavalry, infantry attack, Prussia reserve arrival and Napoleon s defeat. Keegan goes on to describe how no soldier on either side would have been able to view the entire battlefield and how the events of combat for eight straight hours, after already going through a skirmish with the ... Ichabod Crane, the main character in Washington Irving s short story entitled, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow , shows that he is an extremely awkward individual throughout the story. The author adds, Katrina and her father are having a party tonight. Should I attend?...Well, Brom Bones will be there. He said if he caught me near Katrina, he d flatten me like a pancake (Irving 13). This confirms that Ichabod does not enjoy confrontation at all. Early Contractor Procurement is a way to get the contractor involved before the construction phase begins, (Mosey, 2011). The idea of this is to make use of the contractor and their knowledge and understanding of the construction industry. This means fewer disputes over design issues. When the client has invested time and money into design, and the contractor isn t involved, and then is expected to complete all the work, it is likely for there to be disputes but the client would be missing out on the contractor s ideas on how to save on costs. So is partnering up early on and getting to know the job, the client and its goals the right way to go? When this is done it is called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What is wrong with single stage tendering? Single stage tendering prices are based on incomplete information. That the client has to understand and take into consideration when looking into the risk of the project. This creates a false sense of security and a situation where both parties are looking to pick holes in the design work. Robert Smith calls it legalised gambling as the attractive apparent cost is balanced with the sureness with transfer of risk (Smith, 1995) page 44, cited in (Mosey, 2011). The single stage approach also excludes the contractor, its subcontractors and suppliers from everything pre construction phase, meaning that they cannot contribute towards ways of saving costs. Although Foucault believes that people are not the authors of society, discourses are governed independently of anyone s purpose (Learning Companion 2), the institutions he mentions help to keep order in society, although he is concerned about who can claim the authority of who has the power to rule how others should behave (Foucault cited by Silva, 2009, p319). When looking at Buchanans report I have found his findings to be similar to Foucaults in the way that they believe that rules have to be in place to have social order in society; Buchanan was commissioned to do his report by the UK government in 1961 which was Traffic in Towns aimed at finding solutions for urban space to accommodate pedestrians and cars. He found that social order was linked to the segregation of humans and motor vehicles and the need to create an array of measures in urban design for the regulation of the conduct of drivers and pedestrians, this vision is in contrast to Mondermans thesis of a shared approach. Those who are undifferentiated, on the other hand, react emotionally and impetuously. Unable to maintain their own autonomy, they become fused with others in their family. Their emotional patterns are in sync with other members and they have a difficult time separating what they feel from the emotions of the family unit (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intelligence does not determine the level of differentiation. Highly intelligent people can have low differentiation. The level of differentiation refers to the degree in which a family member can think and act for themselves while dealing with an emotional issue (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intimate relationships often include bouts of anxiety. In families, as the anxiety increases between two people, they make seek to bring in a third person to attempt to gain stability. This process is known as triangulation. With the involvement of the third person, the anxiety is spread across more people and appears to lighten. While the tension may appear to decrease, the possibility of increasing the original problem persists. With three players now involved, the original dyad fails to solve the problem which caused the anxiety to begin with (Bevcar, 2009). Bowen researchers consider triangles to be a normal part of relationships. Triangles are the basis of Bowen s multigenerational theory (Rabstejnek, 2012). He stays away from expressing personal emotion because someone who is filled with emotion is not rational. If he was too engaged in his emotions he would not be taken seriously, you had to be rational in order to convince the northern abolitionists. Also staying away from the horrific details of the time help him grasp the attention of the women who in turn would convince their husbands to help by donating money and eventually ending slavery. In chemistry, there are eight different basic types of reactions. The eight basic reactions include: combustion, synthesis, decomposition, precipitation, single replacement, double replacement, acid/base, and redox reactions. These reactions are categorized into their reaction type by their differences and similarities. The first type of reaction is combustion. Another known name for this type of reaction is a displacement reaction. These type of solutions mostly occur in liquid solution and the amount of energy used in this type of reaction is smaller than that of a synthesis or decomposition reaction. In this type of reaction, in a compound, an element replaces a similar element. For example we have elements A, B, and X. In this equation we heave element A + compound BX. Element A will replace element B to form B + AX. (A + BX B + AX) Another reaction is a double replacement. This reaction usually produces an insoluble gas or water. Double replacement is when in two compounds, ions will exchange places in a liquid solution (aqueous solution) to form a new compound. For example A, B, X, and Y are ions in the first part of the equation, AX + BY. The ions X and Y will replace each other to form a new compound to form AY + BX. ( AX + BY AY + BY) A different type of reaction would be an acid/base reaction. This reaction is a neutralization. An acid is a substances that looses protons which are H+ ions and a base is a substance that receives protons. When equal amounts of protons are lost by an acid and the same amounts of protons are being received by a base, they neutralize each other. That creates a product that is neither acidic nor basic by the two substances (acid and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
