A Successful Analysis Of Data Using Ancova
A successful analysis of data using ANCOVA is dependent on assumptions that relate to the study
design, namely, a continuous dependent variable, a categorical independent variable with two or more
independent groups, a continuous covariate variable, and the need for independence of observation
(Field, 2012). Other assumptions are presented during the course of the SPSS analysis to ensure data
does not violate assumptions, even though there is some leeway for violation of certain assumptions.
For the analysis, time spent stalking after therapy (stalker2) was the dependent variable, the
intervention group (cognitive behavior therapy contrasted with psychodynamic therapy) was the
independent variable, and time spent before therapy (stalker1) was the covariate to control for
incoming behavior. Two study designs are associated with ANCOVA pre post study designs and
condensing the outcome of inappropriate variable, but only after the preliminary assumptions have
been satisfied (Huitema, 2011). The Stalker.sav data was appropriate for measuring the same
dependable variable in two or more unrelated independent groups over two points; hence the pre post
study design. Linearity Assumption There was a linear relationship between the time spent stalking
before therapy (pre) and the time spent stalking after therapy (post) for each intervention type, as
evidenced by the scatterplot below. Testing for Normality From the Tests of Normality table below,

Discuss The Differences Between The Chesapeake And New...
Starting in the 1600 s, the English began immigrating to the New World. While the settlers from both
the Chesapeake and New England colonies were originally exposed to the same religion within the
Anglican Church, as well as primarily the same intention within the government system, the colonies
differed in how they would manage their societies once they were settled in the New World. The
Northern New England areas economy was built upon rocks. Their soil was very rocky, farming was
much harder than in chesapeake. The people who settled in this colony were families not single white
men who were to be indentured slaves. These factors created the New England colonies. As far as the
social aspect of the two colonies, there were significant differences in how the colonies were
populated. New England came over with big families which they would use to begin small
communities. The relationships that were already built between these settlers would go to benefit them
and provide the means to creating the society in an organized and well thought out manner. When you
are able to develop and rely on ones you trust making a wholesome community becomes easier, the
supplies, the labor needed to be done and issues that need to be dealt with come at a faster pass with a
trusted group of people (doc 1). The Ships List of Emigrants Bound for New England, 1635, lists
families who boarded the ships, giving the relation and age of each member (doc 2). Within these

Descriptive Of The Starry Night
The Starry Night is one of the most famous paintings in the history of western culture. It was painted
by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889 and is recognized as his finest work. This artwork is oil on canvas and is
currently in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. An interesting fact about the artwork is that it is
painted from Van Gogh s memory, unlike his other works which are painted outdoor. This painting is
the view from the east facing window of his asylum room at Saint Reme de Provence. The view
includes the starry sky, cypress tree, village, and hills. This morning I saw the countryside from my
window a long time before sunrise, with nothing but the morning star, which looked very big. wrote
Van Gogh.
The first thing I notice in The Starry Night is the sky in the background because it stands out the most.
There are many shining stars, the big bright crescent moon and wind swirls painted throughout the
blue sky using contrasting colours like orange, yellow and white. Through the swirling wind, thick
curve lines are flowing across the sky to form this spiral like formation. Eleven yellow stars which
look like huge fireballs lighten the whole art piece by contrasting with the cool blue, dark night sky
that contains a variety of shades of blue and grey. There is also the crescent moon at the top right hand
corner that is bigger and emits an even brighter light compared to the rest of the stars. Next, I notice
the giant cypress tree on the left side because of how its proportion is a lot bigger than everything else
in the rest of the painting. It blocks out part of the sky and the village located at the bottom. The
village houses are tiny and painted in the shade. It is compact and is close to the hills and its
surrounding objects which makes the houses blend in and become unnoticeable.
Many elements and principles are portrayed in this art piece. To begin with, the first thing I see and
grabs my attention is the swirling wind. Rhythm and Movement can be seen and it creates a flow to
the rest of the painting in which leads your eyes to follow along the path of the swirl and brings you to
the next subject. It allowed me to view the art piece up to down and left to right, as I started from the
swirl to the stars

Planned Behavior
The Theory of Planned Behavior
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) predicts an individual s intention to engage in a behavior at a
particular time and place ( Summary of theory of planned behavior. Abstract, 2016). It theorizes that
individual behavioral conduct is driven by behavior intentions, where conduct intentions are function
of three determinants: an individual mentality toward behavioral conduct, subjective standards, and
perceived behavioral control ( Summary of theory of planned behavior. Abstract, 2016).
Icek Ajzen Theory of Planned Behavior was proposed in 1985 through his article, From Intentions to
Actions: A Theory of Planned Behavior. The theory was developed from the Theory of Reasoned
Action , which was proposed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theory consolidates some of the focal concepts in the social and behavior sciences, and it
characterizes these ideas in a way that grants prediction and comprehension of specific behaviors in
specified contexts (Ajzen, 1991). Demeanors toward the conduct, subjective standards with regards to
the behavior, and perceived control over the behavior are typically found to anticipate behavioral
intentions with an increase level of accuracy. Thusly, these intentions, in combination of perceived
behavioral control, can represent an instinctive proportion of discrepancy in behavior (Ajzen,

Mormon Beliefs Of The Mormons
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also known as the Mormons was formally organized
in a small log cabin in upstate New York in 1830 (Worldwide Statistics, 2017). By 1947, the initial six
member church had grown to one million members. Today, current church members are over fifteen
million.
One of the Mormons religious belief is missionary work. The Mormons missionary work is based on
the New Testament. They serve in pairs and teach the gospel and try to attract believers to the name of
Jesus Christ. Mormon Missionaries love what they do and love to share the message of God and His
plan and the divine mission of Jesus Christ. Mormon missionaries can be seen throughout the streets
across the world spreading the word and their faith. Companionships are usually either both males or
both females, never one of each. Companionships are established to look out for one another as most
missionaries live far from home (10 Things to Know, 2017).
According to Mormonism 101 (2017), The fundamental principles of our religion are ... concerning
Jesus Christ that He died was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; all other
things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it. Some other beliefs of the Mormons, are
that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, Christ allows us to be saved from our sins and the original
Church as read in the New Testament has been restored. To further go into detail of these three, the

The 1960s were the golden years for American auto manufacturers such as Chevy, Ford and Chrysler.
With cheap gas prices at 30 cents and the roads open, americans had the need for speed. The
americans need for speed was met by such cars as the Mustang , the camaro, and the super charged
Road Runner. The 1960 s automobiles belonged to a distinct decade of automobile history with the
muscle and pony cars.
The mustang was first introduced in April of 1964. The Mustang was one of the first cars to be labeled
as a muscle car.Contrary to popular belief the mustang was not named after the horse, and it was
named after the P 51 Mustang fighter plane. The car was first introduced at the World s Fair in

PRINCIPLES OF FINANCE 1 Unit 2, Written Assignment Introduction, Housing bubble refers to a
period in the real estate industry when the houses have the rapid increment in the price, and this price
is above the average price. In this paper, authors by using the basic macroeconomics concepts,
considered the macroeconomic environment during the early 2000 s and talked about the factors
which helped to the setting of the federal funds rate, from three perspectives. Influence of increasing
in demand, speculation, and overzealous investing in the housing market, are some of the reviewed
factors in this paper. Also, it discussed and examine the role of US monetary policy in setting the
prices in the housing market. Throughout the paper, we read about the Federal Open Market
Committee (FOMC) and will determine the Federal fund rate. FOMC is, in fact, the underlying

Essay on History Impacts Intercultural Communication
History Impacts Intercultural Communication
Why would it be important to examine the role of history in Intercultural Communication?
When we examine the role of history in Intercultural Communication, we gain an understanding of
how our past influences our communication skills with people from other cultures. We need to learn
and understand why we communicate the way we do. It can be very helpful in improving our relations
with other cultures. Studying the histories of cultures that are different from ours gives us a frame of
reference that can lead to better intercultural communication. It is not only important to study the
histories of other countries cultures but our own American subcultures as well. We need to understand

National histories are usually recorded in some way so as to preserve them for future generations to
learn from. Typically, a nation will only teach its own history to its students and only touch upon the
histories of other nations as they pertain to our own.
How is the history of gays and lesbians relevant to intercultural communication? Whether mainstream
society likes to admit it or not, gays and lesbians have their own sub culture. It is a sub culture that has
existed since the beginning of time but has only recently been recognized as a reality. Homosexuals
have a place in the histories of every culture throughout the world. As stated in a previous paragraph,
all histories are important to intercultural communication. When we learn about and understand other
cultures we create the ability to communicate more effectively with others. The history of gays and
lesbians has a place within every culture so it is just as important to intercultural communication as
any other histories are.
How can we negotiate histories in interactions? When we interact with people from other cultures it is
important to understand that there is a history behind how they view us and how we view them. Many
cultures within our country, as well as throughout the world, have such different belief systems from
ours that if we don t make a point of learning about the history behind other belief systems

The Effect Of Substrate Concentration On Activity Of Catalase
The purpose of this experiment was to analyze the effects of substrate concentration and temperature
on activity of catalase. The activity was measured by observing the amount of time it took for 10 mL
of oxygen to evolve as an outcome of the catalyzed breakdown of hydrogen peroxide. Increased
temperature and substrate concentration will both effect the activity of a catalase enzyme. We used 4
different temperatures of an enzyme, as well as a variety of scientific materials. The results of this
experiment confirmed the hypothesis that was tested.
Introduction:
A catalase is an enzyme that is typically found in all living organisms that are exposed to oxygen. A
catalase catalyzes the decompositions of hydrogen peroxide to hydrogen and water. Catalase are
categorized as tetramers because they are polymers consisting of four monomer units. The complex
structure of the catalase tetramer as well as the hydrophobic nature of heme and its potential in
generating reactive oxygen species indicate the need for tightly controlled and assisted assembly of
catalase (Baureder). They are much different from the peroxidases, with considerable pleated sheet
structure, and usually with a bound NADPH molecule (Dunford 12). Enzymes are important because
they protect the cell from oxidative damage by reactive oxygen species. Catalase levels help to define
the oxidative state of cells (Terlecky).
Change was not predicted to occur if there was no catalase present. Although, the higher the

Clinical Support System Analysis
1. A Clinical Support System is a system that aids physicians and clinical staff in finding the right
course of action for patient care. The system recommends the action and also explains why that route
was chosen for that specific patient. An example of a clinical support system is one that assists with
the retrieval of scientific medical information as well as takes into consideration the particular clinical
context. The system does not perform the clinical decision making but it provides relevant
information, analyses and recommendations about the specific patient, this helps the healthcare
provider make an educated decision about the care that needs to be provided. Clinical support systems
can also allow for patient specific alerts, situation specific alerts, and assist physicians with order sets
to facilitate decision making which enhance the effectiveness and quality of care.
2. The critical difference between a clinical decision support system and a personal health record is
that the two differ greatly in the degree to which they interpret data and recommend patient specific
action (Cimino Shortliffe, 2014, p.190). A clinical decision support system are clinical systems that
allow clinicians to consult expert knowledge for the diagnosis and treatment planning of the patient.

Controversy Regarding Cannabis-Related Legislations in Canada
There is presently much controversy regarding Cannabis related legislations in Canada, as while there
is a great deal of individuals supporting conditions in the present, there are also numerous people who
are against contemporary laws. It is presently illegal to grow cannabis plants in Canada, but the
authorities allow cannabis to be consumed for medical purposes. Many people in Canada believe that
cannabis should be legalized in the country, with some of the most recent polls pointing toward the
belief that the majority of individuals in the country consider that the substance should not be illegal.
Although it would be difficult to assess the effects that legalizing cannabis would have, it is only safe
to assume that the government should express more tolerance concerning the substance, considering
that more than half of Canada s population has expressed its support in regard to the drug.
Individuals who consume cannabis for recreational purposes are certain that the fact that this

Russian Revolution And The Soviet Revolution
For over three hundred years, Russia had been controlled by an autocratic government known as the
tsarist regime. This empire was ruled by a series of tsars who had absolute dictatorship over the
country. (BBC, 2014). From around the time of Peter the Great s reign, the empire began to impose its
will on the people with absolute disregard for their lives and liberty. This incorporation of force
caused repression and unrest amongst the people and the Russian Revolution was essentially an
outburst from this. (Columbia Encyclopedia, n.d). The Russian Revolution consisted of two separate
strikes in 1917, the first of which overthrew the imperial government and the second strike which
placed the Bolshevik party in power. The Russian Revolution evidently brought a drastic
transformation to the government, society and economy of Russia. The communist party who took
power over Russia did evidently improve the economy and reshape the military forces which proved
vital for Russia in WW2. (Quizlet, 2015). Overall, the Russian Revolution was beneficial to the
country s development. Today, in modern history we credit Vladimir Lenin for the Revolution s
succession. However, many people forget to acknowledge the role played by Leon Trotsky who stood
by Lenin s side throughout the Revolution. I believe that Leon Trotsky and his actions during the
Russian Revolution were essential to the security of the revolution and therefore his overall impact
and status is heroic.

Long Distance Running Advantages
The Benefits of Long Distance Running
Health professionals and the general public have thoroughly researched and discussed the advantages
and disadvantages of long distance marathon running; the physical and mental benefits make it
apparent that long distance marathon running is overall an activity that supports a healthy lifestyle.
Nathan Critchfield

Senior Project Research Paper
October 20, 2017
When considering the topic of health benefits and the risks of running long distances the well known
story of the original marathoner Pheidippides is often brought up. The story is often told that
Pheidippides, after running nearly twenty six miles from Marathon to Athens to declare that the
Athenians had won the Battle of Marathon, fell dead from exhaustion. This version of the first
marathon often casts a negative light on the health benefits of running. However, this is not the full
story. The real story involves Pheidippides traveling one hundred forty miles in an attempt to recruit
the Spartans to aid the Athenians in their upcoming battle; then running again the return trip to report
to the Athenians that aid would not be coming before the Persians arrived to battle. Finally, he ran the
twenty six miles to Athens to report the Athenian victory. That is when he finally collapsed from
wounds and exhaustion. From this tragedy, we see that at some point distance running can be harmful
or even fatal. The real question is, have marathons reached

Conformity In Dead Poets Society
Carpe diem, seize the day, boys, seize the day. Mr. Keating told this quote to the boys almost every
day and he wanted them to be their own individuals. While watching the movie, Dead Poets Society,
we realize how important it is to have individuality and to not conform to everyone else s normal ways
to live. The Dead Poets Society was filmed by Peter Weir in the year 1989, starring boys attending a
preparatory school, who are being forced to ideas of conformity, not being able to have their own
ideals, and dealing with their overbearing parents. Conformity is a huge deal back in 1959, you couldn
t talk back to your teachers, your parents, or anyone for that matter. Conformity can have a negative
undertone in school because students are supposed to be individual and should not have to be the same
as everyone else. Students should be able to act how they want to be who they are. Children in school
should be given their own opportunity to do what they please. Non conformity can have a positive
undertone in school because not being conformed to everyone else s norm, you are a special
individual. Being able to do as you want is good to becoming your own person and not being like
everyone else in school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They do not have their own thoughts and can t do things on their own. A person that I think is similar
to Mr. Keating is my mom. She pushes me to better myself. She gives me all of the encouragement I

minutes. She is always there to help me sort out through the problems in life and is always there to let
me talk to her about life. She gives me a lot of physical and mental support in life. Just like Mr.

story are Russia, America, and the Atlantic Ocean. The time is the early 1980 s. The main characters
are Jack Ryan, an intelligent American CIA agent who lives in London, and
Marko Aleksandrovich Ramius, a Soviet submarine captain. Other characters in the book are
Seaman Jones, a navy man, and Skip Tyler, a crippled submarine engineer. The story begins in Russia

To make sure no one interferes with his decision to defect, Ramius kills the political officer onboard.
The Soviet Union found out that Ramius is going to defect, so they sent anything they had to destroy
the Red October, but they had trouble tracking it because it was nearly undetectable by Soviet
technology. At the same time, Jack Ryan was sent from London to the U.S. to deliver pictures of a new
Soviet submarine. After showing the pictures to the Deputy
Director of intelligence, Ryan goes to his friend Skip Tyler to try to figure out what type of submarine
it is. Tyler noticed it is a new type of Soviet sub with a stealth drive. A few days later, the U.S.S.
Dallas was near the coast of Iceland when Seaman Jones noticed a strange noise. He recorded it and
played it over and over again. Others onboard of the
U.S.S Dallas listened to the noise. They decided to follow the noise.
One man noticed a lot of Soviet boats were in the Atlantic Ocean and were heading for America.
The White House and Pentagon were notified and they feared Russia might be getting ready to attack.

Masculinity Issues In Policing Essay
Before discussing what traits lead to problems in policing, we must first identify the problems in the
first place. One problem that comes to mind is Corruption. Despite recruiter s best efforts to weed out
the rotten apples or those susceptible to attaining any personality trait that could be a problem in the
long run, many will still serve and have traits such as authoritarianism, suspiciousness, brutality,
ultraconservatism and so on. We have touched base in lesson notes many times on such personality
traits and how they effect the community in terms of public confidence and whether these traits allow
an individual to act in a lawful manner. To me, all these traits lead to other traits. It leads to a whole

Both men and women officers hold macho value and attitudes in terms of the stereotypical tough guy.
Although there are problematic traits in the police force, many individuals hold traits which give them
the upper hand over their follow officers.
Being the stereotypical tough guy includes behavioral traits such as control, dominance, and lack of
sentimentality. Masculinity is a cultural trait in which individuals are not born with. It is a cultural
norm where you have to display your masculinity in ways such as their behavior for one, the clothing
they wear and the way they talk. In terms of women and femininity, most try to prove themselves to
men. The Police have a lot of power [they have the ability to save lives but many chose to abuse that

Officers have the ability to arrest individuals without proper evidence or cause. In our lesson notes,
despite Starsky and Hutch being a form of media depicting police officers in a way in which is

Cultural Sensitivity
In this era of globalization, people from different countries, cultures, languages and backgrounds are

Organizational Behavior
The organization that I am a member of is a church organization. Churches have become more

when the church was made up of one group of people. Today they have become more diverse in

My church, which consists of about 100 to 150 members has a very diverse population. For example,
our congregation consists of Blacks, Whites, Porto Ricans, and Jamaicans. I am very familiar with the

You must be able to jump start them when they get frustrated. My motto; which I have mounted on the
wall, at the entrance of the sanctuary, is Reposition, Purpose and Plan. I tell people you must first of
all reposition yourself. You must be willing to change some things in your life in order do better and
receive greater. You have to change the way you think about yourself and the way you handle things,
such as yourself, your emotions, your finance, and your relationships in order to be successful in life.
You must know your purpose. People who don t know their purpose are like people who fight with
their eyes closed, they are just beating the air and hitting nothing. I tell them in order to find your
purpose, you must find what you are passionate about. Find what you love to do and you will then
have found your purpose. When passion develops purpose comes alive. I then tell them to make a plan
for your life. If you fail to plan for your life you plan to fail in your life. All successful people have a
plan. We call them strategies. Every time anyone walks thru the doors, they see this message. It also
helps me to keep the members motivated to change.

The meditation sessions, which are held at the Minster s Old Palace, are supported by Roman Catholic

What Is Walzer s Theory Of Aggression
What is Walzer s Theory of Aggression ?
According to Michael Wazler, the theory of aggression implies to the ideologies of jus ad bellum as
detailed in the international law. He uses domestic correlation as the basis of the theory by explaining
how the rules that govern citizens apply to the international community. The rights that apply to the
citizens are similar to those of the states. He argues that Every violation of the territorial integrity or
political sovereignty of an independent state is called aggression He subdivides the theory into six
main points that act as the standards of comprehending war from a moral point of view.
The international community constitutes of independent nations that Wazler uses to demonstrate the
concept of a civilized society.
The states that form the international community have rights. The foundation of the rights is the rights
guaranteed to persons.
It is a crime for a state to use force against the other. Such actions comprise the state s rights.
The justification of violence as a means of defending oneself where individuals and states use it as a
method of enforcing laws
Hostility serves to validate war
It is possible to punish and ward off aggressors
Walzer seeks to point out that when states emphasize on their rights, they must also be (somehow) the
objects of punishment
How does Walzer modify that theory in the section of the book on jus ad bellum, and why does he feel
it needs modification?
He uses the

Chair Steve Dasbach said, It shows that there is no tragedy that politicians won t try to capitalize on to
further increase the power of government. Desbach also thinks that if any government with the power
to kill their own citizens through the criminal justice system also has an obligation that no innocent
person is ever executed (LP Warns 1). Some say that the best defense against domestic terrorism is a
vibrant, open political system where no American will feel excluded or voiceless. This would lead to
an American foreign policy that does not interfere in the affairs of other nations. This policy would
help fight against terrorist like Terry Nichols, Timothy
McVeigh, and the others who may have contributed to the bombing of the
Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Nichols was found guilty for his part in the bombing of the federal
building in Oklahoma on April 19, 1995. On this day 168 people were killed, more than 500 people
were injured, and including the death of eight federal agents. Nichols was convicted for conspiracy
and involuntary manslaughter; he was sentenced for life in prison and was also acquitted by the jury
on the charges of first and second degree murder

  • 2. A Successful Analysis Of Data Using Ancova A successful analysis of data using ANCOVA is dependent on assumptions that relate to the study design, namely, a continuous dependent variable, a categorical independent variable with two or more independent groups, a continuous covariate variable, and the need for independence of observation (Field, 2012). Other assumptions are presented during the course of the SPSS analysis to ensure data does not violate assumptions, even though there is some leeway for violation of certain assumptions. For the analysis, time spent stalking after therapy (stalker2) was the dependent variable, the intervention group (cognitive behavior therapy contrasted with psychodynamic therapy) was the independent variable, and time spent before therapy (stalker1) was the covariate to control for incoming behavior. Two study designs are associated with ANCOVA pre post study designs and condensing the outcome of inappropriate variable, but only after the preliminary assumptions have been satisfied (Huitema, 2011). The Stalker.sav data was appropriate for measuring the same dependable variable in two or more unrelated independent groups over two points; hence the pre post study design. Linearity Assumption There was a linear relationship between the time spent stalking before therapy (pre) and the time spent stalking after therapy (post) for each intervention type, as evidenced by the scatterplot below. • 4. Discuss The Differences Between The Chesapeake And New... Starting in the 1600 s, the English began immigrating to the New World. While the settlers from both the Chesapeake and New England colonies were originally exposed to the same religion within the Anglican Church, as well as primarily the same intention within the government system, the colonies differed in how they would manage their societies once they were settled in the New World. The Northern New England areas economy was built upon rocks. Their soil was very rocky, farming was much harder than in chesapeake. The people who settled in this colony were families not single white men who were to be indentured slaves. These factors created the New England colonies. As far as the social aspect of the two colonies, there were significant differences in how the colonies were populated. New England came over with big families which they would use to begin small communities. The relationships that were already built between these settlers would go to benefit them and provide the means to creating the society in an organized and well thought out manner. When you are able to develop and rely on ones you trust making a wholesome community becomes easier, the supplies, the labor needed to be done and issues that need to be dealt with come at a faster pass with a trusted group of people (doc 1). The Ships List of Emigrants Bound for New England, 1635, lists families who boarded the ships, giving the relation and age of each member (doc 2). Within these communities they ... • 5. Descriptive Of The Starry Night The Starry Night is one of the most famous paintings in the history of western culture. It was painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889 and is recognized as his finest work. This artwork is oil on canvas and is currently in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. An interesting fact about the artwork is that it is painted from Van Gogh s memory, unlike his other works which are painted outdoor. This painting is the view from the east facing window of his asylum room at Saint Reme de Provence. The view includes the starry sky, cypress tree, village, and hills. This morning I saw the countryside from my window a long time before sunrise, with nothing but the morning star, which looked very big. wrote Van Gogh. The first thing I notice in The Starry Night is the sky in the background because it stands out the most. There are many shining stars, the big bright crescent moon and wind swirls painted throughout the blue sky using contrasting colours like orange, yellow and white. Through the swirling wind, thick curve lines are flowing across the sky to form this spiral like formation. Eleven yellow stars which look like huge fireballs lighten the whole art piece by contrasting with the cool blue, dark night sky that contains a variety of shades of blue and grey. There is also the crescent moon at the top right hand corner that is bigger and emits an even brighter light compared to the rest of the stars. Next, I notice the giant cypress tree on the left side because of how its proportion is a lot bigger than everything else in the rest of the painting. It blocks out part of the sky and the village located at the bottom. The village houses are tiny and painted in the shade. It is compact and is close to the hills and its surrounding objects which makes the houses blend in and become unnoticeable. Many elements and principles are portrayed in this art piece. To begin with, the first thing I see and grabs my attention is the swirling wind. Rhythm and Movement can be seen and it creates a flow to the rest of the painting in which leads your eyes to follow along the path of the swirl and brings you to the next subject. It allowed me to view the art piece up to down and left to right, as I started from the swirl to the stars ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Planned Behavior The Theory of Planned Behavior The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) predicts an individual s intention to engage in a behavior at a particular time and place ( Summary of theory of planned behavior. Abstract, 2016). It theorizes that individual behavioral conduct is driven by behavior intentions, where conduct intentions are function of three determinants: an individual mentality toward behavioral conduct, subjective standards, and perceived behavioral control ( Summary of theory of planned behavior. The theory consolidates some of the focal concepts in the social and behavior sciences, and it characterizes these ideas in a way that grants prediction and comprehension of specific behaviors in specified contexts (Ajzen, 1991). As stated in a previous paragraph, all histories are important to intercultural communication. When we learn about and understand other cultures we create the ability to communicate more effectively with others. The history of gays and lesbians has a place within every culture so it is just as important to intercultural communication as any other histories are. How can we negotiate histories in interactions? • 19. The Effect Of Substrate Concentration On Activity Of Catalase The purpose of this experiment was to analyze the effects of substrate concentration and temperature on activity of catalase. The activity was measured by observing the amount of time it took for 10 mL of oxygen to evolve as an outcome of the catalyzed breakdown of hydrogen peroxide. Increased temperature and substrate concentration will both effect the activity of a catalase enzyme. We used 4 different temperatures of an enzyme, as well as a variety of scientific materials. The results of this experiment confirmed the hypothesis that was tested. Introduction: A catalase is an enzyme that is typically found in all living organisms that are exposed to oxygen. A catalase catalyzes the decompositions of hydrogen peroxide to hydrogen and water. Catalase are categorized as tetramers because they are polymers consisting of four monomer units. The complex structure of the catalase tetramer as well as the hydrophobic nature of heme and its potential in generating reactive oxygen species indicate the need for tightly controlled and assisted assembly of catalase (Baureder). They are much different from the peroxidases, with considerable pleated sheet structure, and usually with a bound NADPH molecule (Dunford 12). Enzymes are important because they protect the cell from oxidative damage by reactive oxygen species. Catalase levels help to define the oxidative state of cells (Terlecky). Change was not predicted to occur if there was no catalase present. Although, the higher the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Clinical Support System Analysis 1. A Clinical Support System is a system that aids physicians and clinical staff in finding the right course of action for patient care. The system recommends the action and also explains why that route was chosen for that specific patient. An example of a clinical support system is one that assists with the retrieval of scientific medical information as well as takes into consideration the particular clinical context. The system does not perform the clinical decision making but it provides relevant information, analyses and recommendations about the specific patient, this helps the healthcare provider make an educated decision about the care that needs to be provided. Clinical support systems can also allow for patient specific alerts, situation specific alerts, and assist physicians with order sets to facilitate decision making which enhance the effectiveness and quality of care. 2. The critical difference between a clinical decision support system and a personal health record is that the two differ greatly in the degree to which they interpret data and recommend patient specific action (Cimino Shortliffe, 2014, p.190). Controversy Regarding Cannabis-Related Legislations in Canada There is presently much controversy regarding Cannabis related legislations in Canada, as while there is a great deal of individuals supporting conditions in the present, there are also numerous people who are against contemporary laws. It is presently illegal to grow cannabis plants in Canada, but the authorities allow cannabis to be consumed for medical purposes. Many people in Canada believe that cannabis should be legalized in the country, with some of the most recent polls pointing toward the belief that the majority of individuals in the country consider that the substance should not be illegal. Although it would be difficult to assess the effects that legalizing cannabis would have, it is only safe to assume that the government should express more tolerance concerning the substance, considering that more than half of Canada s population has expressed its support in regard to the drug. Individuals who consume cannabis for recreational purposes are certain that the fact that this substance is included in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as illegal is proof that the authorities directly discriminate them on account of their substance orientation. Canada has a history in debating the use of cannabis and the circumstances when it can be beneficial for the consumer and for society as a whole. • 23. Russian Revolution And The Soviet Revolution For over three hundred years, Russia had been controlled by an autocratic government known as the tsarist regime. This empire was ruled by a series of tsars who had absolute dictatorship over the country. (BBC, 2014). From around the time of Peter the Great s reign, the empire began to impose its will on the people with absolute disregard for their lives and liberty. This incorporation of force caused repression and unrest amongst the people and the Russian Revolution was essentially an outburst from this. (Columbia Encyclopedia, n.d). The Russian Revolution consisted of two separate strikes in 1917, the first of which overthrew the imperial government and the second strike which placed the Bolshevik party in power. The Russian Revolution evidently brought a drastic transformation to the government, society and economy of Russia. The communist party who took power over Russia did evidently improve the economy and reshape the military forces which proved vital for Russia in WW2. (Quizlet, 2015). Overall, the Russian Revolution was beneficial to the country s development. Today, in modern history we credit Vladimir Lenin for the Revolution s succession. However, many people forget to acknowledge the role played by Leon Trotsky who stood by Lenin s side throughout the Revolution. Long Distance Running Advantages The Benefits of Long Distance Running Health professionals and the general public have thoroughly researched and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of long distance marathon running; the physical and mental benefits make it apparent that long distance marathon running is overall an activity that supports a healthy lifestyle. Nathan Critchfield Mrs. Voigt Senior Project Research Paper October 20, 2017 When considering the topic of health benefits and the risks of running long distances the well known story of the original marathoner Pheidippides is often brought up. The story is often told that Pheidippides, after running nearly twenty six miles from Marathon to Athens to declare that the Athenians had won the Battle of Marathon, fell dead from exhaustion. This version of the first marathon often casts a negative light on the health benefits of running. However, this is not the full story. The real story involves Pheidippides traveling one hundred forty miles in an attempt to recruit the Spartans to aid the Athenians in their upcoming battle; then running again the return trip to report to the Athenians that aid would not be coming before the Persians arrived to battle. Finally, he ran the twenty six miles to Athens to report the Athenian victory. That is when he finally collapsed from wounds and exhaustion. From this tragedy, we see that at some point distance running can be harmful or even fatal. The real question is, have marathons reached ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Conformity can have a negative undertone in school because students are supposed to be individual and should not have to be the same as everyone else. Students should be able to act how they want to be who they are. Children in school should be given their own opportunity to do what they please.
