Jablonksi Skin Color
In this video Dr. Nina Jablonksi from Penn State University talked about the evolution of human skin
color and why the gradient of skin color in humans exists. To begin this video she started by talking
about melanin, which is the main pigment in human skin. Melanin is produced in the lower layer of
skin and has two different types. The first type is called eumelanin, which is the most common type.
Eumelanin usually gives skin and hair black and brown coloring. The second type of melanin is
pheomelanin which is red and yellow in color. Certain amounts of these melanin are what determine
the different shades of skin tones. Melanin helps absorb the ultraviolet radiation which helps protect
the skin against the harmful and damaging effects of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is shown by the skin pigmentation in the Maasai people of East Africa because the women are a
lighter skin color than the men. Skin pigmentation does not fully develop until adulthood as well, the
Maasai people show this as well. Over time, researchers have hypothesized that lighter skinned
people, such as Europeans or Asians, resulted from a chromosome mutation in dark skinned people.
To prove this hypothesis, researchers analyzed DNA of bones that are 50,000 years old from skeletons
of Neanderthals. These bones showed the diminishing pigmentation and through the DNA analysis it
showed the genetic mutation. In the end, scientists have done enough research to find out that people
should not be identified by their skin color. It is actually seen as a complete fallacy to identify people
by the pigmentation of their skin. Everyone comes from the same place and we are all alike. The only
real difference is the color we see but that is all, the differences truly do only run skin deep. We all
have the same ancestry and all of our skin pigmentation is almost identical. People need to stop
judging a book by its color and look a little

How Tina Fey Changed Our Lives
All these places have their moments. With lovers and friends I still can recall. Some are dead and
some are living. In my life, I ve loved them all (The Beatles, In My Life). Us humans spend our time
in the world as voyagers on an endless journey. Our curiosity propels us into new, exhilarating
situations that result in more mistakes, more mishaps, and more memories as a result of it. Without
these mementos that are tucked away in our minds, who would we be? What would become of us? It
is these moments in life, whether pleasurable or painful, that mold us into the individuals we are.
In her book, Bossypants, Tina Fey speaks about her journey through the entertainment industry, and
says, I know that on that first writing night, I completely froze up. I sat at my computer from one p.m.
Tuesday afternoon until nine a.m. Wednesday morning and nothing came out. . . I d been improvising
with five other people every night for two years (Fey, 133). Tina Fey began working with Saturday
Night Live in 1997. Since then, she has produced unforgettable skits such as, Mom Jeans, and Women
s News. However, during these first writing days, she struggled to forge her first skit. Her writer s
block and endeavor to complete this task demonstrates how one may reach and conquer ... Show more

A point in time in which teenagers are tried and tested, a time despised by many, but a time in which
many remember. In the article College Is a Journey, Not a Destination the author, Martha O Connell
says, If I held the magic wand for education, my wish would be that students might approach the
college search, as well as their day to day learning, with a greater appreciation of the long view (O

expectations. This tip is crucial when on a journey. For you choose the fate of your journey, and these

Essay On Biodegradable Stents
Since the late eighties, stenting has been the primary means of treating stenosed passageways within
the body. This started with self expanding bare metal stents; however, these stents could eventually
lead to restenosis of vessels. In the Gastrointestinal system in particular, these stents tend to migrate
and are difficult to remove at a later date. Though stenting in the GI system with these methods
initially treated the pathologies, they could lead to additional cost and stress to the patient later on.
With the recent development of biodegradable stents, this problem could be eliminated. With the use
of biodegradable materials or biomaterials in stenting, the complications from metal of even plastic
stenting could be eliminated due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This metabolism is facilitated by the body s natural pH of 7 7.4 which is conducive to this process (2).
Biodegradable stents have been used for treatment of refractory benign stenoses including those in the
ureters, urethra, trachea, bile ducts, pancreas, small intestine, colon and esophagus (3). The first
biodegradable stents for the gastrointestinal tract were made from polylactic acid and were developed
by Goldin (4). He tested this stent on several patients to treat esophageal stenoses; however, his
prototypes were unable to maintain sufficient radial force for longer than three weeks and they also
degraded too quickly. Later, advancements were made with a material called polydioxanone, which is
a crystalline, biodegradable polymer with many ester linkages. This type of stent had greater integrity
and retained its radial force for 6 to 8 weeks after placement, and in 11 to 12 weeks, the stents began
to degrade. The degradation speed was also linked to pH; the lower the pH or the more acidic, the
faster the stent fragmented (1).
Biodegradable stents have found great use in treating stenoses of the esophagus and achalasia.
Esophageal stenoses are generally related to gastroesophageal reflux developed after esophageal
surgery or radiation therapy (5). Typically, this is treated with dilators and balloons and in 80% to 90%
of cases it initially works, but 30% to 60% of patients see their stenoses recur (1). In order to keep
their esophagi patent,

Six Dimensions of Health 2
The challenges of balancing work, school, and a social life can sometimes seem like a major task.
However, in spite of these challenges the six dimensions of health are the keys to living a quality and
prosperous life. My objective is to identify three of the six dimensions of health, and explain why they
re my strongest. Next, choose one of the remaining six dimensions of health and explain why it needs
improvement. In addition, I will discuss how I will make changes to improve that health dimension in
the future. Finally, I will discuss what I want to learn in this course to ... Show more content on

A life without spiritual wellness is like traveling without a destination; because there are no
expectations or a sense of guidance. Spiritual wellness is one of the three strongest dimensions of
wellness in my life. Spiritual wellness is primarily one of my strongest because its one that influences
my purpose of life and plays a very intricate part in my daily routines. For example, I m a very
religious person who practices Christianity which helps me boost my spiritual wellness. Christianity
allows me to build my faith in God and to follow his beliefs and principles. As a result of reading my
bible and learning religious principles overtime my morals will reflect this for the good of others. For
example, just as good Samaritans in the bible gave to those in need, I have learned to give back to my
community through participating in the AmeriCorps Vista program which is a volunteer program
whereby people can do community service. The opportunity of providing this community service also
gave me the chance to give to the poor. Participating in such events requires a person to posses a sense
of love, and compassion which are some the key characteristics of a spiritually well person.
Furthermore, since I have discovered Christianity, my life has been full of purpose, guidance, love,
joy, compassion, and the ability to give. According to Galatians chapter five and

MODULE 2, MINI REPORT 2
November 1, 2012 GWL Roofing Limited
Overview
GWL Roofing Limited (GWL) manufactures roofing materials, and installs and services roofs for
industrial, commercial, and investment (ICI) properties. GWL s head office and sole manufacturing
facility are located in eastern Quebec. In addition, GWL has distribution facilities located across
eastern Canada and the northeastern United States. The U.S. location houses the administrative
functions of GWL s wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, GWL Roofing U.S. Limited (GWL US).
Gaston Laroche, who was a roofer by trade, founded GWL in 1963. Gaston s business philosophy was
to offer his customers superior products at premium prices. Under Gaston s leadership, GWL grew ...

In addition, GWL claims that its products are specifically designed to meet the demands of the harsh
winters experienced in Canada and in the northern United States. As a result, GWL s products tend to
be more expensive to manufacture than those produced by its competitors. GWL s roofs are
guaranteed against defects in materials for a period of 15 years by its warranty program.
GWL markets itself as a provider of roof management solutions. The cost of a roof over its useful life
of about 20 years can be quite substantial for ICI properties. Maintaining a high quality roof is
essential to the value of the property, as well as to the continuity of the operations housed by the
property. However, most maintenance managers employed to manage ICI properties by property
managers, manufacturers, and other organizations are generalists, and typically don t have extensive
knowledge of roofing problems and proper roofing maintenance procedures. GWL not only sells the
physical roof itself, but also offers its customers worry free roofing solutions.
In order to meet the growing demand for expertise in roof maintenance, in 1998, GWL began offering
its customers a Roof Management Program with respect to the roofs that it installs. According to this
program, the customer enters into a long term maintenance and servicing contract with GWL. The
customer makes an annual maintenance payment, and GWL takes care of all matters pertaining to the
customer s roof. The annual

`` Atonement `` By Ian Mcewan
In today s society, people often times misinterpret things we hear or we tend to make assumptions
about several things such as who said what and worrying about whether or not it was true. It later
becomes a major problem when these misperceptions get out of hand and are used to penalize
someone for something they really didn t do. These people often times can be kids. Teens specifically
tend to have open ears and observe everything. They crave gossip and secrets and they aren t able to
contain themselves and keep it to themselves. Obviously it is possible that they don t understand what
they hear most times, but can easily make it up or give false information. False accusations lead to
difficult situations sometimes critical and can hurt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, McEwan uses symbols alongside, motifs such as the Trials of Arabella in order to
explain Briony s mindset as a child. This suggest and supports the idea that Briony being young is
unable to fully grasp and understand her surroundings.
To begin, in part one of Atonement we learn who each character is through the perspective of different
characters. Alongside we get the unique perspective of several scenes that take place. One very
important scene is the fountain scene where Robbie and Cecilia are filling a vase with water and
Robbie causes the vase to slip out of Cecilia s hands breaks some pieces falling into the fountain.
Cecilia acts fast and removes her clothing in order to retrieve the vase piece. Meanwhile, you have
Briony wondering her room and happens to see the two conversing and is shocked to see Cecilia
remove her clothes. Briony begins to assume things instantly The Triton fountain, and standing by the
basin s retaining wall was her sister, and right before her was Robbie Turner. There was something
rather formal about the way he stood, feet apart, head held back. A proposal of marriage. Briony
would not have been surprised. She herself had written a tale in which a humble woodcutter saved a
princess from drowning and ended by marrying her. What was presented here fitted well. Robbie
Turner (36). Here Briony is only able to see the interactions between Robbie and Cecilia but she can t
necessarily hear anything but, it doesn t impede her

The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber Analysis
The short story The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber, by Ernest Hemingway, tells the tale of an
African Safari and a man s journey to becoming courageous. The story focuses on Francis Macomber
and his transition from a life of cowardice to a life of courage. Hemingway surrounds Francis with the
secondary characters of the story, Margot and Wilson. Margot is Francis trophy wife, she believes that
her husband is a coward and has little respect for him. Wilson is the classic Hemingway character, he
is assertive, good with women, and shows no fear. These three characters exemplify the three types of
people that Hemingway believes to exist in this world. Margot Macomber, Francis wife, epitomizes
what Hemingway thought of women. She only focuses on her appearance, both her physical
appearance and her status. Hemingway went out of his way to mention her modeling career showing
her vanity and desire for others to see her beauty. Hemingway focuses more on her attempt to
maintain her high status image through her husband. When Francis had shown cowardice and a lack of
strength, she would then be ashamed of him and gravitate towards men that she found more
respectable. In the story she had an affair with Wilson, he was everything that she could wish for in a
man, strong, courageous, and not an embarrassing coward like her husband. Margot felt
disappointment with the weakness that Francis displayed during the incident with the lion. She
became upset when Wilson was talking about the incident and said, Let s not talk about the lion, she
felt shame because of her husband s actions and she worried about how it would reflect on herself.
Hemingway deliberately had her act this way because he felt that all women only care about status and
appearances. Robert Wilson, the safari guide, represents the manly man and what Hemingway
believes to be a man. Wilson embodies the ideal man, he is courageous, strong, fearless, and overall
acts like the quintessential man. Throughout the story he shows a lack of fear while facing the most
vicious and deadly animals on the face of the earth, he also has sex with a married woman, asserting
his dominance. Through the majority of the story Wilson is the foil character for Francis,

The Importance Of Belissa s Speech To Transcending
Fear is inevitable , I have to accept that, but I cannot allow it to paralyze me . How should you conquer
fear? You should conquer fear by facing it face straight on. For example , entering into high school as
a freshman was the greatest fear because of the new system, new school, new people, and new
teachers. Then, how I faced it , was by just simply talking and asking questions and getting put under
pressure because later you would feel happy and very comfortable about yourself. Conquering fear
leads you to transform or to transcend. You might be wondering what is transforming or transcending?
Well , transforming is a major change in the person or something about the person appearance . Then,
transcending is to pass beyond the limits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

everything for him and got him in the elections with Belissa speech and 2 words. Well, now we know
that Belissa had caught the colonel and the colonel isn t gonna give up Belissa and then we don t get

because her words had a really strong effect on him and changed the way he was into a nicer person. I

Applying A Thin Bonded Concrete Overlay
individual repairs, consider using a thin bonded concrete overlay. Fig 26: Popouts, Scaling and
Spalling.
2.11 SCALING
Scaling is the general loss of surface mortar exposed to freezing and thawing. The aggregate is usually
clearly exposed and often stands out from the concrete.
2.11.1 Causes
1.Scaling is primarily a physical action caused by hydraulic pressure from water freezing within the
concrete and not usually caused by chemical corrosive action.
2. When pressure exceeds the tensile strength of concrete, scaling can result if entrained air voids are
not present to act as internal pressure relief valves.
3. Scaling is also caused due to the use of deicing solutions. Fig 27: Scaling of Concrete Surface
2.11.2 Remedies
Begin by thoroughly removing any loose material to create a relatively smooth surface. Contact the
repair material manufacturer for guidance. Most manufacturers suggest surface preparation should
include repairing shallow delaminations, surface, scaling, and aggregate popouts. This may require
grinding the resulting rough surface. The committee recommends trying to achieve a concrete surface
profile in the range of 3 to 5 as described in the International Concrete Repairs Institute s Document
03732.
This is often the best range for applying most liquid applied membranes and most thin coatings. Most
liquid applied products are not intended to level off or hide imperfections, although trowel grade
materials can sometimes be used for this purpose.

Associative Memory
The research says we can be moved by music at a personal level, to the point that musical melodies
evoke autobiographical information associated with it, and we get a strong feeling of knowing ,
especially if the music we heard is associated with our past. There seems to be a link between text and
music, since we remember the titles of music we listen to better than recalling the melody by reading
or hearing the title. In remembering vocals, we remember titles better than melodic cues. This can
suggest that music is encoded in semantic memory like text by the brain s perceptual memory system,
where meaning is encoded. Even if it is not directly related to semantic information, musical
information can also be associated with associative memory.

only small fragment of his memory, he has to survive through the hardship and be a runner in order to
find a way to escape the glade. The maze runner is set in an apocalyptic world. Thomas should

of other gladers. Thomas starts as a whiner, unwilling and an impulsive kid who just wants to figure

dreadful and scary to Thomas. There is no way of knowing what is out there. The maze is too
dangerous and risky. The probability of getting stung by a griever was too high, but Thomas did not

trapped inside the glade which is already scary enough. He would also risk his life for his friend.
Having a friend is important than anything. In Thomas situation, he believed, he would be better off
alone. Yet, Chuck approached him despite the fact Thomas hates him. Thomas soon realizes that he
needs chuck when, Thomas finally snapped out of his his daze and took off after his new and only

Type A Behavior Analysis
In the textbook the authors talk about the fact that differences in an individual s personality can be
partially attributed to genetics and also that these differences in emotions and behavior can often be
noticed in early childhood, through a pathway called temperament (Cervone Pervin, 2013). There are
two characteristics of temperament however, that have been researched and studied the most, and
those two characteristics are inhibited behavior and fear reactions. As may be obvious, as is in fact
obvious in my family, people react differently in their emotions and behavior to new situations such as
moving out of a parent s house or being around groups of people they don t know, and these
differences in reaction can be attributed to genes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be related to a neurotic s more withdrawn personality type (Eysenck Fulker, 1983). The study has
proposed that of all the factors on the EPQ test (neuroticism, extraversion, psychoticism and
conformity) extraversion and neuroticism play the biggest role in the construction of a Type A
personality, and thus propose a genetic relation between personality and coronary heart disease that
can be altered by smoking habits. This study goes to show that Type A behavior is not clearly defined,
as can be seen in the differences between extraversion and neuroticism. It is also clear that Type A
behavior can be further magnified within the four factors (Tenseness, ambition, activity and
unrepressed) within the categories neuroticism and

As you can see replicators played a huge part in creating life. How did replicators lead to the first cell

membrane composed of phospholipids which are the principal components of cell membranes. The
process of replication lead to the first cell which is called LUCA (Last Universal Common Ancestor).

A lot of the time when a virus come into contact with the host or as we may know it, the cell, it can
insert its genetic material into its host, literally taking over the host s functions. Some viruses may
remain dormant inside host cells for long periods, causing no obvious change in their host cells, but
once stimulated new viruses are formed, self assemble, and burst out of the host cell, killing the cell
and going on to infect other cells. All this is just a constant battle between the host and cell. Without a
host cell, viruses cannot carry out their life sustaining functions or reproduce. They cannot synthesize
proteins, because they lack ribosomes and must use the ribosomes of their host cells to translate viral
messenger RNA into viral proteins. Viruses cannot generate or store energy, but have to derive their
energy, and all other metabolic functions, from the host cell. Sometimes the virus will not be in the
cell but outside functioning as coat for the protein. Viruses cause a number of diseases in humans most

The General Overhead And Construction Projects Essay
In the past, the general overhead in construction projects was not important compared to project costs.
However, with the new construction environment and its changes such as the high usage of lean, BIM,
and LEED, everything has changed. Nowadays, most of the construction contractors are measuring
their general overhead costs and trying to control it. To gain profits, they started to allocate their
general overhead costs to different construction projects they are working on. In this paper, we
investigate how a construction company (general contractor) manages its general overhead costs.
Preceding this stage, we should provide few definitions of the general overhead costs in order to give
readers a deep insight of what this paper is about. Moreover, it is essential to explain how construction
contractors allocate their general overhead costs to construction projects, what methods they tend to
use for allocating, and what advantages and disadvantages does every method have. Further, we shift
our focus to activity based costing method by defining it and describing its steps. Since the main
purpose of this paper is to examine how construction contractors deal with their general overhead
costs, an interview should be conducted to know how contractors allocate general overhead cost to
construction projects to get profits. Indeed, each construction contractor may use a specific method
when allocating. Due to our interest in estimating, the interview was conducted with a senior

Network Systems And Their Topology Essay
Network Systems
As one of the representatives of Corner Shop Realtor, I would like to present the advantages and
disadvantages of network systems and their topology. Changing the system of data management in the
company will allow the company to keep data more organised and secured, as well as give the
company opportunity to expand in other fields of business.
Network systems are divided into several categories, depending on their properties and use.
The smallest network is a PAN (Personal Area Network) currently the most common is wireless
networks used in offices or homes, which typically includes a computer, printer and mobile devices.
This is a small personal network, used to transmit data at the lowest level, which can operate
independently of the Internet connection. The individual devices are connected to it, in most cases
using a Bluetooth or Wi Fi module.
LAN (Local Area Network) is a local area network, which can be extended to multiple computers or
other devices, e.g. a larger office, hotel or apartment building. LAN allows its users to use the same
resources and applications, as well as transfer or exchange files. Communication can take place using
copper wires or wireless Wi Fi, and can be independent of the Internet as long as a network card is
available.
Individual LAN networks link to the larger network of MAN (Metropolitan Area Network), a
municipal network. The connection between local networks is via fibre optic cables, or radio waves.

shape who you are and ultimately influence your decisions, actions and personality. In The Battler by
Ernest Hemingway, Nick Adams, a young man of roughly twenty years of age encounters an older
gentleman named Ad Francis, a once famous boxer who claims to have gone crazy after his life as a

throughout the country and helps keep Ad in check. At one point, Bugs offers Nick and Ad some ham
and eggs that he had just cooked on the fire, and asks for nick to cut the bread with his knife. At the
sight of the blade Ad demands that Nick hand over the knife. In order to keep Nick out of any danger
that might arise from a conflict with Ad, Bugs whacks Ad in the back of the head with a frying pan,
rendering him immobile and unconscious, keeping Nick out of harms way. After Bugs knocks out Ad
with the pan, he proceeds to make sure he did not hit him too hard, making sure his eyes can close and
that he is still breathing. The strong, unassuming black man then goes on to explain why Ad is like the
way he is, crazy and unpredictable in a way that is threatening to others. He also goes on about how
after Ad left the ring, he got himself into some trouble on the streets, fighting whenever and wherever
he found an opportunity, landing himself a cell in the local jail where he met Bugs

The Life of Alexander Pope
An honest man s the noblest work of God. Alexander Pope life was rough as a child because of his
illness. In his early career, and even later in life he wrote a lot of famous poets. Alexander Pope lived
his life as a famous writer until death from his childhood sickness
Alexander Pope an, English poet was born on May 21, 1688 on Lombard Street in London. His father,
Alexander Pope, a Roman Catholic, was a linen draper who afterwards retired from business with a
small fortune, and fixed his home on 1700 at Binfield in Windsor Forest. Pope s education was a
purpose to his father s religion so that excluded him from the public schools. Before he was twelve he
had obtained a slight knowledge of Latin and Greek language masters from a priest in Hampshire.
Pope also received other masters from a school in Twyford near Winchester, Thomas Deane School in
Marylebone, and later Hyde Park Corner.
Between the age of twelve and seventeen there were a lot of applications for pope to study. During the
process it weakened his health, and he developed tuberculosis of the spine which left him crippled and
harmed his view of life in so many ways. Pope then thought of himself dying, but a friend Thomas
Southcott, gave him advice about a famous physician named John Radcliffe, which he prescribed a
diet and exercise. Under this treatment the boy recovered his strength and spirits. He thought himself
the better, Spence says,

Partners In Health Organization Analysis
Partners in Health are a very unique organization because they send their professional staff to the
countries in need of desperate help. Their main goal is to help the world s poorest and sickest
communities which are why they are on a mission to transform global health, one patient at a time.
Whether it is Rwanda or Zimbabwe, Partners in Health travel to help out the countries that are most in
need by delivering food or administering vaccinations. They care for patients in their homes and
communities. Partners in Health aid these countries in numerous ways through priority programs; a

Coming up with development strategies can be difficult because it is not a one shoe fits all concept.
Many different countries and organizations have their own development plans that specifically fit their
needs, for example; in class we learned that Africa as well as Europe and North America and Asia
have their own development plans special to their wishes and desires. For Partners in Health, I would
focus on donations and getting the organization more widely popular. This organization already has
well known sponsors such as the American Cancer Society and the Ronald McDonald House so I
would reach out to more businesses and encourage them to donate. There are a variety of development
strategies but there is only about one or two that would be useful for Partners in Health. One
development strategy that would not work would be the import substitution industrialization strategy
because it is a trade and economic policy which advocates replacing foreign imports with domestic
production. It is based on the premise that a country should attempt to reduce its foreign dependency
through the local production of industrialized

My First Love Essay
Everyone loves to tell the story of their first love, and the beautiful lesson they learned through the
adventure. You hear the phrase, you ll never forget your first as you see a small smirk flourish across
the faces of people who remember their story. Through all the experiences shared, I never would have
believed the result of falling out of love. All of the novels and sweet smiles never hinted about the
time I would end up crumbled down on my bedroom s floor, with two years of a person s presence
surrounding a broken heart. Nobody will speak of watching your first love leave for college, knowing
that they will want to move on. I went through the stages of heartbreak that left me with a cracked and
bruised heart. The recovery and journey of finding acceptance and love for myself, created a book of
my personal lessons. Going back to that summer is like reading the final book of your favorite series,
you soak in the words trying to read slow, savoring. Completing the series leaves a bitter sweet
moment, comparing to the emotions that overcame my mind through the process of watching him go.
However, it was not beautiful and bittersweet as romance novels paint your first love out to be. Each
page in our novel transformed from love to a war zone, as loyalty became nonexistent, and trust only
present in waves. The summer was beautiful, but in my heart I knew that this novel was only a fairy
tale coming to it s end. There was nothing left to be painted. That hot and humid

Professional Athletes Are Not Above The Law
Often times, professional athletes are role models and revered heavily by the media, franchise, and the
organization that the athlete performs for. However, to see a pro athlete fall and suffer due to
accusations and evidence brought against them is a very serious issue. There have been so many past
court cases where professional athletes have had to pay for their actions against their organization or
against society. Athletes are not above the law, but they are generally portrayed to be seen above the
law because of their financial success. Based on past court cases, professional athletes are not above
the law because they are simply still people that make mistakes. Also, athletes are not the exception to
the law. They have to follow the rules of society just like everyone else. Finally, professional athletes
are not above the law because they have a reputation to up hold. They are sometimes being watched
by millions of people on national television. Professional athletes are still people that have made
mistakes in the past. There is no professional athlete that does not wish that he or she did not make the
mistake that was made. A great example would be NFL Running Back Adrian Peterson of the
Minnesota Vikings. The article discusses how Peterson had punished his 4 year old son with a switch
bare bottom. Peterson had admitted that he had beaten his son enough for him to draw blood. The
court had declared this as child abuse against Peterson. Although, Peterson had defended

Impact Of Social Media Essay
Impacts of social media The English Definition of social media is websites and other online means of
communication that are used by large groups of people to share information and to develop social and
professional contacts ( social media ). In comparison a German professor defines social media like
this: Social media is used for the connection of their users and their communication through the
Internet (Prof. Dr. Oliver Bendel). One can see that the definition is nearly the same although the
people descend from completely different countries and cultures. Additionally, there was a big change
in the use of social media in the last years, which was influenced by the fast development of
technology. The influence of social media differs from country to country and the impacts, advantages
and disadvantages changed in the course of time especially in foreign countries. Social media can be
seen from completely different aspects and points of views. A major role in these different opinions
plays mostly the age of the beholder, because social media made an enormous change in the last 50
years. One very important aspect in our today s society is to get as many information as possible in a
very short time period ( Impacts of social media ) Through social media and especially social
networks such as twitter and Facebook, the information gets spread extremely fast. There are for
example reporters who search on those networks to get information for their news and articles. (

When I initially found out that I was interviewing Josh for my one to one I wasn t too stoked on the
idea. I was a bit worried that our session together might not be as personal as I would like and that he
would find it hard to open up because of our differences. I originally asked him to meet me at the
Minnesota International Student Association (MISA) lounge on the second floor of Coffman Union.
MISA is a space specifically catered to International students and multi cultural students so I assumed
it would be different from what Josh might be accustomed to. When Josh arrived at the MISA lounge
the room was occupied by a student group event, so I took him to the room right next door, the Asian
Student Union lounge. By the way Josh looked around the room, I could tell that he was a little
uncomfortable by the Asianess of the room, so I asked him if he would rather do the interview
somewhere else. He replied back that he was fine with the space so we carried on with our 1 on 1.
To begin with, I asked Josh to tell me his story and share some significant moments in his life. It was a
very vague question and I didn t expect much contend from his answers. He began with the very
nonspecific details about his childhood growing up in Woodbury, MN and how lived a very normal

Social And Legal Implications Of Driverless Cars
By definition, an autonomous vehicle, or driverless car, is one that is able to navigate terrain without
the need for human input but human input is also an option. It is undeniably possible that we will see
driverless cars on roads around the world at some point in the not so distant future. It has been stated
that the next generation of vehicles, such as BMW s self driving prototype, could be available within
the next decade and that within that decade Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, Volvo, and Audi all plan to
develop and sell some form of advanced automation (Knight, 2013). However, before they are rolled
off the production lines in their thousands, many questions that currently open need answers and
repercussions need to be considered. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Driverless cars would be able to take safety features such as these to a more advanced level that would
automatically make manoeuvres such as changing lanes suddenly or automatically slowing down at
higher speeds. For example, when driving through heavy fog, the driver would find it difficult to see
an oncoming traffic jam whereas an autonomous vehicle s (AV) sensors would be alerted and would
automatically slow the car down and alert the driver as to what was ahead. This system would also be
useful if a driver was travelling on unfamiliar roads: the AV would be programmed as to the optimum
speed to travel at certain times, eradicating the risk of an accident due to human error. A study by
Benenson et al highlights that vehicle to vehicle communication may be an effective way of increasing
safety with AV s: cars would communicate with each other their plans of direction and position to
ensure no collisions occurred. This reduce in road traffic accidents would also largely reduce other
societal costs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that in the US in 2012, crash
injuries totalled costs of $18 billion and $33bn in work lost (CDC, 2014). In the UK, the Department
for Transport suggests that, allowing for accidents that have not been reported to police, the total value
of the prevention of road accidents was £34.3 billion in 2012 (DFT, 2012). This shows that road

The Leadership Style Of Leadership
When one thinks of successful leadership, words like power, authority, and control often come to
mind. Examining leadership in detail reveals that many different leadership styles exist. Some leaders
may be authoritarian, where their rules are law and enforced in a utilitarian fashion. Others may prefer
to lead in a more democratic manor, where employees help make decisions and feel involved in
workplace happenings. Robert Greenleaf, who at the time was an executive at AT T, developed
another style, servant leadership (Marquis, 2014). Though the terms servant and leader may seem
paradoxical when paired together, his style of leadership focuses on the idea that leaders should serve

In one of the lessons, the characteristics of good leaders are discussed. Honest and trustworthy, good
role model, caring, committed, good listener, able to hold people accountable, respectful, encouraging,
positive, enthusiastic, and appreciative are all agreed upon attributes (Hunter, 1998). While all of these
qualities are important, trustworthiness, respectfulness, and appreciation for others are essential for
nurses to possess in order to be servant leaders. Trustworthiness Trustworthiness encompasses
veracity, one of the principles of ethical reasoning (Marquis, 2014). The ability to tell the truth is key
in interacting with both patients and coworkers. Being viewed as someone who is trustworthy helps to
establish effective leadership. Employees who view a leader as honest are more likely to be honest in
return, while patients who trust their caregivers can be confident in their treatment (Marquis, 2014).
Advocating for a patient further shows trustworthiness by assuring him or her that the nurse values the
patient, and is working to attain the best possible outcome. Being trustworthy also means showing
humility in certain instances, like being able to admit when mistakes have been made or a situation
could have been handled differently.

The Christian Of Harry Potter Essay
The Christian themes in Harry Potter have been undermined by Christian fundamentalists beliefs that
the Potter stories are a gateway into satanic culture. While these stories are loved by so many, there is
a section of the population that condemns them as a satanic welcoming. To fully understand the
condemnation of Harry Potter and the push to eradicate this condemnation we will address several
lenses of the argument; to start there will be a quick history of the condemnation, and an overview of
that specific audiences perspective on the novels. Next to be presented will be an overview of the
Christian allegories found in the Potter novels, and finally, the argument put forward by some

Sheila Priestley s Play Sheila
Advice to An Actor Playing Sheila
When creating the character Sheila Priestley s aim was to show the audience that the younger
generation of Birlings, and therefore the younger generation of society, were the ones who were the
most forward thinking and were the most likely to agree with a policy of socialism. Sheila is also used
as a means to highlight the stupidity and selfishness of Mr and Mrs Birling and Gerald. The play
begins with the Birling family celebrating the engagement of Sheila and Gerald. Despite the fact that
Sheila is an adult, her family are seen to treat her as a child. This should be reflected in the way that
the actress presents Sheila, as this is likely to be a response to her immature personality. The actress
must also be aware that during 1912 women were subordinate to men, therefore it must be clear that
Sheila has a lower position of power than her finance Gerald. This opening scene has a celebratory

Eva Smith s death she is visibly distressed and horrified. Despite the upsetting news, the actress needs
to make it clear that Sheila is vein and is still ignorant to the lower classes. This is due to the fact that

Eva was pretty is what makes her death even more upsetting. Therefore Sheila believes that a woman s

After reading the above case study, there are four distinct issues that contribute to the overall case.
First, there is an issue with an anonymous individual in the company, essentially whistleblowing

Therefore, this is an issue, since the anonymous employee chose to bypass the appreciate

Using Quorum Sensing Mechanism And The Inhibition Of Qs
Abstract:
Several antibiotic resistant bacterial strains exist due to the inappropriate usage of antibiotics
themselves as a result of this an alternative treatment is required. Quorum sensing (QS) is a process of
cell cell communication, which controls the expression of virulence factors by pathogenic bacteria.
There is evidence to suggest that the inhibition of QS in bacteria would reduce or inhibit virulence
factors being produced and could also prevent biofilm formation. This review focuses on quorum
sensing mechanism and the inhibition of QS in gram negative bacteria. QS inhibition has been
explored as a novel anti pathogenic therapy to control bacterial infections with promising results in
several previous studies.
Introduction
Excessive and indiscriminate usage of antibiotics has led to the emergence of multiple drug resistant
(MDR) bacterial strains. The need for alternative approaches to combat these MDR strains stem from
the fact that 16 million people die annually due to infectious diseases caused by them (Bjarnsholt. et
al., 2005 and Rasmussen. et al., 2005). It has been repeatedly observed that bacteria within these
specialised structures are around 1000 times more resistant to antibiotics than their free living
counterparts (Martinez and Baquero, 2002). Bacterial behaviour within biofilms is regulated by a
process named quorum sensing (QS), where bacteria release chemical signals and express virulence
genes in a cell density dependent manner (Ganin et al.

The Broad Museum Of Downtown Los Angeles

it a gift to the people of Los Angeles, Eli and Edythe Broad donated millions of dollars to open The
Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles. It stands next to the iconic Disney Concert Hall that is
designed by Frank Gehry and is the first major art museum that is free to. The public. The Broad is
designed by Diller Scofidio and Renfro in teamwork with Gensler. It is a first for the new York based
architect in this city, and one of the number of large new buildings for a firm that has built its
reputation with predominantly conceptual and theoretical projects recently .The architects, Diller,
Scofidio and Renfro, demonstrate the museum as consisting of three parts the vault, the veil, and the
exhibition spaces in between the two. The architecture highlights every painting and sculpture through
its use of veil, vault, and the exhibition spaces. Though it will continue to be controversial, many
architects will see the Broad Museum as the wave of future.
The concept of the veil and the vault in designing the broad is based on joining the two parts of the
building: one of them is public exhibition space and the other one is collection storage. Instead of
relegating the storage to secondary place, the vault, plays an important role in making the museum
experience from entry to exit.

Item Number Exemplified Learning Analysis
The way I determined whether each item number exemplified learning, was by using my definition of
what learning means and what I have been taught it means through this chapter. My definition of
learning is the acquired knowledge or skills one has obtained by being taught, through experience,

Inhumanity In Rwanda Genocide
The Belgians act of inhumanity through the discrimination of the Hutu is the main reason that the
Rwandan genocide took place. In the article titled, Rwanda Genocide of 1994, the author begins by
introducing the background of Rwanda: The three groups, Tutsi, Hutu, and Twa lived together for
centuries. Belgium ruled Rwanda in the 19th century and granted the Tutsi social power over the
Hutu. ( Rwanda Genocide ). For instance, the Belgian colonizers threw the Hutu into agriculturist and
other primary jobs which did not earn them enough to support themselves. Tutsis were given complete
control over the government. This cruel classification of the Hutus directly relates to the different acts
of inhumanity present before the genocide even started.

Illegal Immigration Reform in America Essay examples
One of the most controversial topics today in politics is what to do about illegal immigration in the
United States. Should we consider all of the illegal immigrants felons? Should we give them full
citizenship rights? These are all important questions related to illegal immigration. In 1986, the
Immigration Reform and Control Act made it illegal for employers to knowingly hire undocumented
workers and imposed fines of up to $11,000 for each violation. Recently, the United States House of
Representatives passed a bill, entitled H.R. 4437 (The Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal
Immigration Control Act of 2005). Just recently, due to massive overpopulation, the problem of illegal
immigration is really starting to be taken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those that have been here less than two years will be the only people that will have to leave the
country. I do believe that illegal immigrants do contribute to the economy in some ways, like doing
many of the jobs that most citizens will not do. My opponents would counter by saying that
Immigrants helped build this country and that immigrants come to America for a better life and end up
investing their money here, buying houses, and opening businesses that help the economy. When
addressing the fact that there are roughly 12 million illegal immigrants here and this Act could quite
possibly make them all felons, many wonder where we are going to put all of these felons. Our prisons
are already overpopulated and adding millions more is completely out of the question. Also, many
people opposing this Act believe that if we got rid of all of the illegal immigrants that our society
would quickly fall into an economic depression. They believe that they are such a vital part of our
economy that we could not afford to deport them. I agree that our country cannot afford to consider all
12 million of the immigrants here illegally felons. One of the many reasons why we have so many
illegal immigrants in the country is partly due to the fact that the number of immigration investigators
in the U.S. fell from 240 in 1999 to just 65 in 2004, according to the Government Accountability
Office.

As one of style of English that are mostly used by people around the world, British English (BE) has
their own dictionary. A dictionary has several functions, such as to help us with the concept, to

Essay On Navy Commencement Speech
The time has finally come: Commencement Day. This is the time in one s life where an individual has
overcome all the hardships throughout their training, persevered through extensive pain, and sleepless
days to finally earn the privilege to be called a Navy Seal. This is a moment in one s life where an
individual may also embark on a new journey after their commencement. Some of these individuals
may continue their path in the military, school, or their family. On the other hand, some people are left
stranded and feel helpless when it comes to deciding what to do next. In the 2014 Commencement
Speech, Navy Seal Commander William H. reminds every Navy Seal that they must strive for one
goal in life after their commencement : to change the world into a better place. William H. believes
that , regardless of ethnicity, gender, and background, anyone has the ability to change the world only
if individuals overcome all hardships and obstacles, complete every task to full potential, and never
give up, which may ultimately allow the next generations to live a better world. He supports these
assertions by using illustrations, analogies, cause and effects, and quotes to encourage and inspire the
audience to change the world. Navy Seal Commander William H. begins his commencement speech
by addressing and congratulating the graduating class of 2014. Although this is a typical method of the
introductory part of the speech, it shows appreciation for all the navy seals that overcame

A Meta-Analysis of the Impacts of Soy Milk, Skim Milk, and...
Five studies were found that coincide with the study selection criteria for on the effects of fermented
milk on cholesterol levels. Although some studies do not agree, a consensus can still be reached. Five
studies were found that agree consuming fermented milk products helps to lower cholesterol levels. Of
these studies Agerbaek et al., (1995) conducted a six week study on fifty eight healthy, non obese
males with normal cholesterol levels, all were age forty four. Participants were randomly placed in
either the fermented milk or placebo group; the placebo consisted of milk cultured with non living
bacteria and the fermented milk was fermented with E. faecium and two strains of S. termophilus.
Participants drank 200 ml per day of either fermented or placebo milk. The diet of each individual was
not altered at any time during the study. After six weeks, total cholesterol was significantly reduced by
14.3 mg/dL while the placebo had no significant change. LDL cholesterol levels had a 10% reduction,
a 16.24 mg/dL decrease while HDL cholesterol levels were unchanged. Agerbaek et al., (1995)
determined that fermented milk should significantly decrease total cholesterol and LDL levels in
middle aged men.
A study by Anderson and Gilliland (1999) came to the conclusion that fermented milk lowered total
cholesterol levels by 2.4%, LDL by 2.6% and HDL by 3.9%. The study was conducted over a three
week period with twenty females and nine males all with hypercholesterolemia. All

  • 2. Jablonksi Skin Color In this video Dr. Nina Jablonksi from Penn State University talked about the evolution of human skin color and why the gradient of skin color in humans exists. To begin this video she started by talking about melanin, which is the main pigment in human skin. Melanin is produced in the lower layer of skin and has two different types. The first type is called eumelanin, which is the most common type. Eumelanin usually gives skin and hair black and brown coloring. The second type of melanin is pheomelanin which is red and yellow in color. Certain amounts of these melanin are what determine the different shades of skin tones. Melanin helps absorb the ultraviolet radiation which helps protect the skin against the harmful and damaging effects of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is shown by the skin pigmentation in the Maasai people of East Africa because the women are a lighter skin color than the men. Skin pigmentation does not fully develop until adulthood as well, the Maasai people show this as well. Over time, researchers have hypothesized that lighter skinned people, such as Europeans or Asians, resulted from a chromosome mutation in dark skinned people. To prove this hypothesis, researchers analyzed DNA of bones that are 50,000 years old from skeletons of Neanderthals. These bones showed the diminishing pigmentation and through the DNA analysis it showed the genetic mutation. In the end, scientists have done enough research to find out that people should not be identified by their skin color. It is actually seen as a complete fallacy to identify people by the pigmentation of their skin. Everyone comes from the same place and we are all alike. The only real difference is the color we see but that is all, the differences truly do only run skin deep. We all have the same ancestry and all of our skin pigmentation is almost identical. People need to stop judging a book by its color and look a little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Tina Fey Changed Our Lives All these places have their moments. With lovers and friends I still can recall. Some are dead and some are living. In my life, I ve loved them all (The Beatles, In My Life). Us humans spend our time in the world as voyagers on an endless journey. Our curiosity propels us into new, exhilarating situations that result in more mistakes, more mishaps, and more memories as a result of it. Without these mementos that are tucked away in our minds, who would we be? What would become of us? It is these moments in life, whether pleasurable or painful, that mold us into the individuals we are. • 4. Essay On Biodegradable Stents Since the late eighties, stenting has been the primary means of treating stenosed passageways within the body. This started with self expanding bare metal stents; however, these stents could eventually lead to restenosis of vessels. In the Gastrointestinal system in particular, these stents tend to migrate and are difficult to remove at a later date. Though stenting in the GI system with these methods initially treated the pathologies, they could lead to additional cost and stress to the patient later on. With the recent development of biodegradable stents, this problem could be eliminated. Biodegradable stents have been used for treatment of refractory benign stenoses including those in the ureters, urethra, trachea, bile ducts, pancreas, small intestine, colon and esophagus (3). The first biodegradable stents for the gastrointestinal tract were made from polylactic acid and were developed by Goldin (4). He tested this stent on several patients to treat esophageal stenoses; however, his prototypes were unable to maintain sufficient radial force for longer than three weeks and they also degraded too quickly. Later, advancements were made with a material called polydioxanone, which is a crystalline, biodegradable polymer with many ester linkages. This type of stent had greater integrity and retained its radial force for 6 to 8 weeks after placement, and in 11 to 12 weeks, the stents began to degrade. The degradation speed was also linked to pH; the lower the pH or the more acidic, the faster the stent fragmented (1). Biodegradable stents have found great use in treating stenoses of the esophagus and achalasia. Esophageal stenoses are generally related to gastroesophageal reflux developed after esophageal surgery or radiation therapy (5). Typically, this is treated with dilators and balloons and in 80% to 90% of cases it initially works, but 30% to 60% of patients see their stenoses recur (1). Spiritual wellness is one of the three strongest dimensions of wellness in my life. For example, I m a very religious person who practices Christianity which helps me boost my spiritual wellness. Christianity allows me to build my faith in God and to follow his beliefs and principles. As a result of reading my bible and learning religious principles overtime my morals will reflect this for the good of others. For example, just as good Samaritans in the bible gave to those in need, I have learned to give back to my community through participating in the AmeriCorps Vista program which is a volunteer program whereby people can do community service. The opportunity of providing this community service also gave me the chance to give to the poor. Participating in such events requires a person to posses a sense of love, and compassion which are some the key characteristics of a spiritually well person. • 8. The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber Analysis The short story The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber, by Ernest Hemingway, tells the tale of an African Safari and a man s journey to becoming courageous. The story focuses on Francis Macomber and his transition from a life of cowardice to a life of courage. Hemingway surrounds Francis with the secondary characters of the story, Margot and Wilson. Margot is Francis trophy wife, she believes that her husband is a coward and has little respect for him. Wilson is the classic Hemingway character, he is assertive, good with women, and shows no fear. These three characters exemplify the three types of people that Hemingway believes to exist in this world. Margot Macomber, Francis wife, epitomizes what Hemingway thought of women. She only focuses on her appearance, both her physical appearance and her status. Hemingway went out of his way to mention her modeling career showing her vanity and desire for others to see her beauty. Hemingway focuses more on her attempt to maintain her high status image through her husband. When Francis had shown cowardice and a lack of strength, she would then be ashamed of him and gravitate towards men that she found more respectable. In the story she had an affair with Wilson, he was everything that she could wish for in a man, strong, courageous, and not an embarrassing coward like her husband. Margot felt disappointment with the weakness that Francis displayed during the incident with the lion. She became upset when Wilson was talking about the incident and said, Let s not talk about the lion, she felt shame because of her husband s actions and she worried about how it would reflect on herself. Hemingway deliberately had her act this way because he felt that all women only care about status and appearances. Robert Wilson, the safari guide, represents the manly man and what Hemingway believes to be a man. Wilson embodies the ideal man, he is courageous, strong, fearless, and overall acts like the quintessential man. Throughout the story he shows a lack of fear while facing the most vicious and deadly animals on the face of the earth, he also has sex with a married woman, asserting his dominance. Fig 26: Popouts, Scaling and Spalling. 2.11 SCALING Scaling is the general loss of surface mortar exposed to freezing and thawing. The aggregate is usually clearly exposed and often stands out from the concrete. 2.11.1 Causes 1.Scaling is primarily a physical action caused by hydraulic pressure from water freezing within the concrete and not usually caused by chemical corrosive action. 2. When pressure exceeds the tensile strength of concrete, scaling can result if entrained air voids are not present to act as internal pressure relief valves. 3. Scaling is also caused due to the use of deicing solutions. Fig 27: Scaling of Concrete Surface 2.11.2 Remedies Begin by thoroughly removing any loose material to create a relatively smooth surface. Contact the repair material manufacturer for guidance. Most manufacturers suggest surface preparation should include repairing shallow delaminations, surface, scaling, and aggregate popouts. This may require grinding the resulting rough surface. The committee recommends trying to achieve a concrete surface profile in the range of 3 to 5 as described in the International Concrete Repairs Institute s Document 03732. This is often the best range for applying most liquid applied membranes and most thin coatings. Most liquid applied products are not intended to level off or hide imperfections, although trowel grade materials can sometimes be used for this purpose. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Associative Memory The research says we can be moved by music at a personal level, to the point that musical melodies evoke autobiographical information associated with it, and we get a strong feeling of knowing , especially if the music we heard is associated with our past. There seems to be a link between text and music, since we remember the titles of music we listen to better than recalling the melody by reading or hearing the title. In remembering vocals, we remember titles better than melodic cues. This can suggest that music is encoded in semantic memory like text by the brain s perceptual memory system, where meaning is encoded. It has been stated that the next generation of vehicles, such as BMW s self driving prototype, could be available within the next decade and that within that decade Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, Volvo, and Audi all plan to develop and sell some form of advanced automation (Knight, 2013). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Driverless cars would be able to take safety features such as these to a more advanced level that would automatically make manoeuvres such as changing lanes suddenly or automatically slowing down at higher speeds. For example, when driving through heavy fog, the driver would find it difficult to see an oncoming traffic jam whereas an autonomous vehicle s (AV) sensors would be alerted and would automatically slow the car down and alert the driver as to what was ahead. This system would also be useful if a driver was travelling on unfamiliar roads: the AV would be programmed as to the optimum speed to travel at certain times, eradicating the risk of an accident due to human error. A study by Benenson et al highlights that vehicle to vehicle communication may be an effective way of increasing safety with AV s: cars would communicate with each other their plans of direction and position to ensure no collisions occurred. This reduce in road traffic accidents would also largely reduce other societal costs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that in the US in 2012, crash injuries totalled costs of $18 billion and $33bn in work lost (CDC, 2014). • 37. Using Quorum Sensing Mechanism And The Inhibition Of Qs Abstract: Several antibiotic resistant bacterial strains exist due to the inappropriate usage of antibiotics themselves as a result of this an alternative treatment is required. Quorum sensing (QS) is a process of cell cell communication, which controls the expression of virulence factors by pathogenic bacteria. There is evidence to suggest that the inhibition of QS in bacteria would reduce or inhibit virulence factors being produced and could also prevent biofilm formation. This review focuses on quorum sensing mechanism and the inhibition of QS in gram negative bacteria. QS inhibition has been explored as a novel anti pathogenic therapy to control bacterial infections with promising results in several previous studies. Introduction Excessive and indiscriminate usage of antibiotics has led to the emergence of multiple drug resistant (MDR) bacterial strains. The need for alternative approaches to combat these MDR strains stem from the fact that 16 million people die annually due to infectious diseases caused by them (Bjarnsholt. et al., 2005 and Rasmussen. et al., 2005). It has been repeatedly observed that bacteria within these specialised structures are around 1000 times more resistant to antibiotics than their free living counterparts (Martinez and Baquero, 2002). Bacterial behaviour within biofilms is regulated by a process named quorum sensing (QS), where bacteria release chemical signals and express virulence genes in a cell density dependent manner (Ganin et al. ... When addressing the fact that there are roughly 12 million illegal immigrants here and this Act could quite possibly make them all felons, many wonder where we are going to put all of these felons. Our prisons are already overpopulated and adding millions more is completely out of the question. Also, many people opposing this Act believe that if we got rid of all of the illegal immigrants that our society would quickly fall into an economic depression. They believe that they are such a vital part of our economy that we could not afford to deport them. I agree that our country cannot afford to consider all 12 million of the immigrants here illegally felons.
