Explain Why The Hangman Gets A Close Up
The Hangman gets a Closeup Being a hangman was a fruitless job, living your life just to see death.
There was no point to it, the harm was only coming to the person who hangs people. Hangman s
decrease population and cause people to not rest in peace. While the buffoons out there trying to pull
the same old shenanigans, they are getting themselves harmed. Now enough with the people getting
hanged, let s give the hangman a closeup. A hangman hangs wayward people because hanging has no
discipline so they have no way of getting out of it. The hangman was hostile towards the people he
hanged otherwise he wouldn t hang them. All a hangman does is basically inflict death for something
that may have been a petty crime. This was a job back in times

Courtroom Observation
Going into this particular assignment I wasn t really sure what to expect or even where I needed to go
to see an interesting case mainly because I had never been to the County building before or observed a
courtroom proceeding before. However, I went this past Thursday to try to watch and see what I could
learn. When I arrived to the county building I wasn t sure where the courtrooms were so I was kind of
wandering around. After a few minutes a man approached me and asked what I was there for and I
told him to observe a courtroom for a class so he directed me to the info office for further help. After
explaining to them why I was there an officer told me Courtroom 4 which is the Major Felony court
had some interesting cases so I should go there. Throughout the duration of this paper I will explain in
detail the five different cases that I observed while I was there. The first case I observed I missed a
little bit of the beginning due to wandering around the building lost for a while. Due to this I missed
the name the defense attorney as well as the name of the prosecutor. This particular case was The State
of Indiana v. Kim Cooney Thomas and her charges were battery with a deadly weapon, criminal
recklessness, as well as leaving the scene of an accident. The second case that I observed was State of
Indiana v. Nikki Hart. The defendant was in court due to a probation violation from a prior arrest. This
case moved pretty fast and the judge set her trial date for December 1,

Anne s Case
Anne s case study Anne is a 10 year old girl who has admitted to the emergency department (ED) with
the right iliac fossa pain. Further assessment has done for her by the emergency registrar and
appendicitis suspected. The surgical team decides that she needs an appendectomy. Anne returns to the
ward with an IV therapy and triple IV antibiotics, morphine PCA, a nasogastric tube in situ on free
drainage. Anne is an older of the five children and her parents has a restaurant in the city. This essay
will discuss about the appendicitis pathophysiology, the growth and development theories. Moreover,
this essay will discuss about how the nurse can provide a family central care model and the ... Show

This model can help reduce the impact of illness for children and families by encouraging all family
members as well as health care workers to work together to achieve the best outcomes for their child
(Arango,2011). According to Kuo et al. (2012), the main point of this model is respect and dignity,
information sharing, and participation. Firstly, a nurse must listen and respect the patient and caregiver
for their background, culture, values, and beliefs. Providing the welcoming, assessable and responsive
care to Anne and her family. Protecting privacy during consultation and treatment time for Anne and
her family. The nurse should not make any assumption about Anne or her family s beliefs (Wilfred et
al., 2012). The nurse need to find out what Anne and her family know about health problem and
treatment. This is because planning and delivery of care will be affected by the patient and caregiver s
perspective, therefore, a nurse should be understanding Anne and her family s concerns and put them
into treatment and care with appropriate support for her and her family members (Wilfred et al.,
2012). By doing this the nurse will have the benefit such as gaining the greater trust and respect from
Anne and her family. Secondly, the nurse should share all the useful information for patients and their
families. Anne is under age to

Research Paper On Women Longboarding
Women Longboard MadnessIt wasn t long after extreme sports became a trend, women got in on the
game. Longboarding is one such trend where a lot of women participate in. Some of these women
make something more of the activity, and turn it into an adventure, like these women. You have to
admit, there s nothing more sexy or endearing than a women bombarding the neighborhood hill on her
longboard, sparking and smoking like Native American Chieftain upon greeting a guest. It s the way
their faces go pious and their hair scatters and gathers like mercury. Everybody gets into one extreme

Huburt Watches Case Study
Course Name: Market Management Student Number: 2014104 Purpose of the paper This paper will
highlight how Hublot watches use the elements of the marketing mix to target its position and to
achieve its competitive force. The essay is composed of two main parts. The first part includes the
analysis of the segmentation and target of Hublot watches and its major competitors. The second part
is adopting marketing mix (4P) to illustrate how the company differentiate itself from competitors to
satisfy costumers, then to enhance its market share percent and sales. Background Currently, luxury
product can be found everywhere and the demand of them is high (Kapferer and Bastien, 2008: 311).

Hublot segment its target market by demographics which illustrate different customers attitudes.
According to Dubois et al. (2001: 35), there are three types of customers. The first is Elitist s Group ,
customers in this group state that luxury product must be small educated, sophisticated and refined.
And it should differentiate itself from others. It is indeed expensive and cannot be mass distributed
(ibid). The second type is Democratic group that customers in this section consider the luxury should
be mass distributed and accessible to consumers. To appreciate luxury goods no special education is
required, this section do not consider luxury should be reserved to refined people. Additionally, they
think that it is not the word of good taste or differentiation, it is also not necessary to be expensive.
The customers in this section has being positive to luxury (ibid). While the last section should be the
Distant group , which means customers do not have a negative attitude towards luxury, they consider
luxury is another world where they do not belong to. In fact, luxury does not attract them, also they
cannot find out any value, attribute or relevance, especially useless and too expensive. They report that
more taxes should be paid from luxury (ibid). Thus, based on the customers attitudes, Hublot mainly
focuses on the Democratic group which can be shown in Appendix 1 (Gautschi, 2005: 9) and
Appendix 2 (ibid). Hublot s products are

Scarcity, Accessibility, Utilization And Stability Factors...
Chapter 5
The availability, accessibility, utilization and stability factors affecting the intake of fruits from trees in
forest areas in Cameroon
Introduction and problem
In sub Saharan Africa, just under one in every four people, or 23.2 percent of the population, is
estimated to be undernourished in 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). This is the highest prevalence of
undernourishment for any region in the World and, with about 220 million hungry people in 2014 16,
the second highest burden in absolute terms. The number of undernourished people increased by 44
million between 1990 to 92 and 2014 to 2016. In the Central African sub region, the number of
undernourished people more than doubled between 1990 92 and 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). The lack
of progress in the rate of undernourishment in absolute terms reflects prevailing problems in the sub
region, notably poor food consumption patterns caused amongst others by limited understanding on
the dimensions of food security, political instability and forest degradation. It is therefore absolute to
carry out investigations to properly understand the dimensions of food security especially with
changing environmental conditions. Promoting the consumption of fruits in poor communities and
amongst vulnerable groups could help in addressing problems of nutrient deficiency and malnutrition
(Kehlenbeck et al., 2013; Place et al., 2013; Tchoundjeu et al., 2012).
Deforestation has existed ever since the existence of mankind (de Wasseige et

The Yellow Press Book Summary
1. The Yellow Press as defined in our book was a battle to sell more newspapers that pitted the New
York World owned by Joseph Pulitzer and the New York Journal owned by William Randolph Hearst
against one another (book p. A 70). Hearst used the color yellow to print his comics mixing facts with
sensationalizing accounts of crime and political corruption with aggressive appeals to patriot
sentiments (book p. 667). Pulitzer and Hearst send reporters to Cuba. They sent back reports of
Spanish cruelty some of which are factual and some that were not. These stories begin to rile the
American people. Also at this time, Thomas Edison invents the motion picture camera and people are
shown newsreels of the Cuban struggles. Atrocities are shown ... Show more content on

The Filipinos had been fighting the Spanish prior to the arrival of the U.S. Aguinaldo knew he needed
a major power to help him with his struggle. Aguinaldo met with Dewey in Hong Kong and sailed
with him to the Philippines. After Dewey s naval victory in the Manila Bay, Aguinaldo believed he
could begin Filipino independence so he formed his government based on the U.S. Constitution.
However, the U. S. turned against him when they annexed the island nation. McKinley justified his
position saying it would take them 100 years to understand what true freedom means (book, p.672). At
the time of the insurrection, America was becoming aware of the atrocities committed by American
troops such as the burning of villages, torture of POW s, and rape and execution of civilians (book,
p.677). Aguinaldo was not treated fairly at all. If the U.S. was not so short sighted, he could have
founded his government. We could have had a stronger ally during WWII. We were lucky the
Japanese were more brutal than we were. However, in our defense, we did our best to Americanize the
island nation by modernizing their infrastructure, education and medical treatment systems (book, p.
672). Why was this war so little remembered by the American people? I believe this had a lot to do
with Douglas McArthur. He loved the Filipino people and it about killed him to leave them to the
Japanese. He vowed to return and return he did. He along with his Filipino guerillas defeated the
Japanese. After winning WWII, the Philippines were granted their independence. I believe this is why

How Does Starvation Affect Larval Behavior
Starvation impacts larval behavior as measured in the two choice assay a) 3rd instar larvae: From
previous studies of our lab (Newquist, Novenschi et al. 2016) we learnt that each larval ORN is
functionally diverse and each ORN differentially contributes to olfactory behavior in the Drosophila
melanogaster larvae. Based on these results, we postulated that individual ORNs might be
differentially modulated under starved state conditions. To begin to address this question we started
with a panel of seven different odorants from the panel of 19 different odorants published in the study
by (Mathew, Martelli et al. 2013). Each of the seven odorants elicits a strong, specific physiological
response from a single ORN (Or 47a :: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Larvae on each half are counted, RI is calculated using simple equation RI =(S C)/(S+C) [S denotes
number of larvae on the odorant/test side and C denotes number of larvae towards the control side].
The data from this experiment is presented in Figure 1. When tested for odorant acetal, starved larvae
showed higher RI when compared to non starved larvae. In other words, starved larvae have a stronger
attractive response towards acetal compared to the non starved larvae. Next, we looked at the olfactory
responses of the remaining six odorants from the panel of seven that were mentioned above. As
mentioned in the previous paragraph, starved and non starved larvae were subjected to the two choice
assay after 2 hours of the starvation protocol. Data collected for all seven different odorants are shown
in Figure 2. Of all the seven odorants tested, only three odorants showed significant changes in
response indices upon starvation. Acetal (shown in Figure 1), 4, 5 dimethylthiazole, and pentyl acetate
were the three odorants that showed higher RI values for starved state larvae when compared to non
starved larvae. In other words, for these three odorants starved larvae had higher attractiveness
towards odorants compared to non starved larvae. This supported our hypothesis that individual ORNs
might be differentially modulated by the animal s starved state. b) 2nd instar larvae: Next, we looked
at the olfactory behavior response of 2nd

The Dangers Of Adolescent Substance Abuse
Adolescent substance abuse is a big concern in the country today. There are many risk factors that can
contribute to adolescent substance abuse. Peer pressure has continued to be one of the leading risk
factors. Adolescents substance use increases health problems, dependence on drugs, conduct disorders
and other risky behaviors leading generally to poor social consequences. Parental influence plays a
great role in what a teenager becomes because teenagers mostly learn by example. The counselor
helps provide therapy to those impacted by effects of substance abuse. The effectiveness of such
therapy may require inclusion of family friends and other forms of positive support the teenager has.
Some schools and organization, and communities have programs that help teach adolescent on the
dangers of drug abuse. It is important to make these programs appropriate for the age concerned in
order to get them attracted and compliant.
Description of the problem nationally and locally
Adolescent substance use or abuse remains number one public health challenge revealing that teenage
years is the grave age for the beginning substance use and its implications. Using dangerous
substances when the brain is still undergoing development increases addiction and other catastrophic
risks among young people. Substance abuse among young people in the metropolitan environments
constitutes common syndromes that can greatly affect the individuals, families and societal health. In

Driftless Area
I live in part of the upper Mid West known as the Driftless area. The terrain contains high bluffs and
hills with narrow valleys. The Driftless area, unlike the rest of the Mid West, escaped the terrain
smoothing, mineral depositing influences of the ice sheets during the glacial period (Jefferson, 2010).
The bedrock contains limestone, sandstone and shale, and is exposed or near the surface making it
popular for sand mining. About 95 present of the frac sand mining in the United State is done here.
Driftless Area When the sandstone layer in the bedrock is broken down and crushed into individual
granules it is called silica sand. This type of sand is very uniform, non porous and strong; it can
maintain its shape when exposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This material is often stockpiled separately on the site for use during mine reclamation (Wisconsin).
Unfortunately the wild life is displaced, bird migration is interrupted and the vegetation is destroyed.
The Driftless area has a lot of plants that are unique to this area only. Explosives are then used to
break the bedrock apart. The unwanted rock such as the limestone and shale are stock piled to be used
later for the reclamation process. Excavation equipment and dump trucks bring the sandstone to the
crusher that is located on the mining site. The crusher breaks the sandstone chunks into individual
sand grains. The sand has to be filtered to remove the smaller grains of sand that are not acceptable for
fracking. The entire process causes a release of silica dust. Inhaling silica dust can lead to serious,
sometimes fatal illnesses including silicosis, lung cancer, tuberculosis (in those with silicosis), and
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Silica exposure has also been linked to renal disease
and other cancers. In 1996, the World Health Organization International Agency on Cancer Research
(IARC) identified silica dust as a known human carcinogen (Center). Due to this risk factor the federal
government regulates workers exposed to silica dust, but there are no limits set for the general public
(Wisconsin). This is a big

Analyzing Wilson s Disease
Wilson s disease is a well known leading cause of chronic liver disease in children. However it may
remain undiagnosed in a resource limited setting for a long period. We describe a six year male child
diagnosed Wilson s disease with extreme elevation of liver enzymes which is not reported earlier. The
diagnosis was also baffling because of inconsistency of other laboratory parameters.
Introduction
Wilson disease is one of the common metabolic liver disorders prevailing worldwide. The diagnosis is
always difficult in children [1]. It is also a chronic liver disease for which effective therapy is available
therefore, early diagnosis is crucial. However because of its varied range of clinical manifestation, at
times the diagnosis is clinically challenging. Early ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

history of passing high coloured urine for three months. It was associated with nausea, diffuse
abdominal pain and decreased appetite. There was no history of irritability, change in behaviour or
altered sleep pattern and no bleeding from any site. He had not received blood transfusion any time in
the past. There was no similar illness any of the family members. The child was admitted to a private
institution for a two week period, but as there was no improvement, he was referred to our institute. At
admission, he was afebrile and vitals were stable. General physical examination revealed mild pallor
and severe jaundice. Gastrointestinal systemic examination revealed moderate hepatomegaly along
with an enlarged left lobe of liver. There were no other clinical features suggestive of chronic liver
disease. Investigations revealed a total serum bilirubin of 15.6mg/dl with conjugated fraction of

Difference Between Absolute And Nietzsche

Escaping Modernity: Freedom and Happiness at the End of History An argument exists that there is a
difference in the conception of Hegel in the relationship of agency and the absolute with that of
Nietzsche and Heidegger. My argument now is that the difference in Hegel s conception of the
relationship of agency and absolute is fundamentally different from that of Nietzsche and Heidegger in
that, according to Hegel, we can, through reason fathom the absolute and though we constitute it, we
can never be the absolute. Nietzsche and Heidegger, on the other hand, locate the absolute in human
where they demand that the whole (worthy) human subsumes the absolute. My thinking is that
Nietzsche is concerned with the master ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In 1789 Thomas Malthus, English cleric and scholar, studied the nature and gist of population growth.
He argued that the population growth was faster than the rate of food production and thus it would
lead to global starvation. According to the most recent United Nations estimate elaborated by
Worldometers, the current world population is 7.5 billion.
Overpopulation is an objectionable condition which the number of human population expands faster
than the Earth s capacity. Overpopulation is a result of various factors such as improvements in
medical facilities. Moreover, overpopulation also has a critical impact on the environment and is a

A physical, biological or chemical alteration to the air in the atmosphere can be termed as pollution. It
occurs when any harmful gases, dust, smoke enters into the atmosphere and makes it difficult for
plants, animals and humans to survive. Since the creation of the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts,
significant improvements have been made to the overall water and air quality. Despite efforts,
pollution remains a major threat to our general health and well being and the problem still persists at
harmful levels. America s Troubled Waters, a report by US Public Interest Research Groups (U.S.
PIRG), cites the following statistics regarding the state of America s waterways: Approximately 39%
of rivers, 46% of lakes, and 51% of estuaries are still too polluted for safe fishing or swimming.
Furthermore, pollution has caused nearly 20,000 beach closings in 2004, the highest level in 15 years.
The EPA s Wadeable Streams Assessment finds that 42% of all U.S. stream miles are in poor
condition. More than half of those found in the eastern portion of the U.S. and 40% of those in the
central region are considered to be in poor condition. Even though water pollution has spread, there
are many solutions to this problem. Responsible practicing of Fertilizer and Pesticides use, filter
runoff, capture and dispose of floating pollution in waterway are some measures which can be taken in
order to prevent water pollution. Fertilizers and

The Environment Of A Soil Ecosystem
A soil ecosystem is composed of both living and non living matter with a diversity of interactions (The
Environmental Literacy Council, N.d.). This is a place where energy and matter are transformed and
transported. Analyses that can be used to assess the functioning of land ecosystems is abiotic
indicators, biological indicators, and atmospheric indicators. Abiotic indicators can include pH,
moisture, and temperature. Soil temperature and moisture are important environmental factors that
affect the conservation and physiology of earthworms (M.L. Presley et al, 1996). Biological indicators
can include earthworms, plants, and leaf litter. Atmospheric indicators include carbon dioxide
emissions. Interactions among these three indicators can also help to assess if the ecosystem is
functioning. It is hypothesized that a functioning ecosystem is related to many types of interactions,
such as earthworms eating leaf litter and leaf litter falling from the plants. It is predicted that IU has
good soil quality based on the fact is is near Jordan River, and there is a diversity of plant life
growing. What is the ecosystem s quality based on the interactions between leaf litter, soil, and
worms? The ecosystem is claimed to be functioning based on the biomass of the earthworms and leaf
litter and the pH, moisture, and temperature of the soil.

temperature of the soil was collected. As

What Is The Similarities Between Villa Mairea And Baker House
Harry and Mairea Gullichsen, the owners of this villa provided Aalto a chance to express his thoughts

strips, brick wall and also rendered masonry. It is not only consist of the traditional Finnish vernacular
and modern design, but also the influence of the English and Japanese architecture. This can be seen
in the sauna of this villa, which is built with wooden walls and flat grass roof, just like a Japanese tea

First of all, there are two similarities between Villa Mairea and Baker House. Designs related to nature
and landscape surrounding were never out of Aalto s consideration. For examples, the vertical tree like
columns and curved panels in the library of Villa Mairea and the direction of the rooms facing to the

Nonetheless, some of the design ideas in Villa Mairea are different from Baker House. For examples,
the transformation of the design style, from traditional to modern due to the request by the owner of
Villa Mairea, the open concept into the plan and also the transformation of materials which is the
change of the floor furnishing to make the villa more interesting. For Baker House, open concept

Gift Of The Magi Literary Analysis
The Magi s are the wise men that created the art of giving Christmas presents. Just like Jim and Della
in The Gift Of The Magi. In The Gift of The Magi, Jim and Della expressed their inordinate amount of
love through their gifts, and through Literary elements , expressing the theme of the story. Three
literary elements that enhanced the theme Love is more valuable than possessions , in The Gift of The
Magi are, the characterization, the plot, and the setting. The characterization in the story expresses she
s the theme in many ways. Primarily, the characterization shows that Jim and Della are selfless and
willing enough to give up their most prized possessions, in an act of love to please each other on
Christmas. Secondly, the characterization shows that also that both Jim and Della have loving

The Attachment Theory and Factors Damaging to Attachment
Attachment Theory
Relationships are the building block for personality and are significant in children s ability to grow
into substantial individuals who can thrive in an often harsh world. Constructing lasting and fulfilling
relationships is an integral part to development as the interpersonal bonds forged are not only highly
sought after but also set the ground work for all upcoming expressive interactions. Relationships and
attachment go hand in hand as attachment is the strong and lasting linkage established between a child
and his or her caregiver. Moreover, attachment significantly influences a large capacity of ones make
up as it these first relationships that teaches morals, builds self esteem, and develops a support system.

These included Secure attachment, Avoidant, and resistant patterns . Also furthering the work of her
predecessors, Mary Main a student of both Ainsworth and Bowlby provided additional categories of
attachment which included the disorganized disoriented pattern. Many children growing up in homes
plagued by substance use of any nature struggle the most when into adulthood and as a result of poor
attachments often develop negative relational patterns. Children in these households often develop
what is known as an avoidant attachment style in which they have not maintained trust with caregivers
early on thus lending to behaviors of mistrust later in life as they weren t provided stability early on.
Culture and Attachment Attachment theory is a great model for understanding the maladaptive
patterns of behavior many adults may present later in life. As relationship and relational patterns are
developed early in life the way in which people view themselves and the world are greatly influenced
by their experiences with attachment figures. Though attachment theory wishes to look at the
universal inner workings of child development and attachment organization it does not fully discuss
the cultural contexts. Attachment theory instead looks to universally categorize the survival needs of
all infants but does not take into consideration cultural, racial, and socio economic elements that may
affect the differential attachment

Social Location
Social location can be defined in numerous ways due to the aspects that influence it. Predominantly, it
is a person s place in the world based off of race, religion, sexuality, gender, etc. All the factors that
influence a person s social location not only tell their standing or place in the world, but how they
were raised, who they are looking forward to becoming, and how they will fare in the future. A person
s beliefs weigh heavily into social location more than other factors later in life. Early on, it tends to be
the unchangeable features such as gender and race that weigh down. The main factors that have

Official Language In The United States
According to urban legends, German was almost the official language of the United States (Sick,
Bastian). In the myth, a group of Germans living in the United States got a petition for German to be
the official language of the United States to Congress in 1794. By one vote, it didn t pass. As you can
see, having an official language in the USA was a topic of debate ever since the founding fathers were
alive ( National American? ). Having a national language would mean all official government business
is conducted in English ( Official English ). I believe that the USA shouldn t have an official language
since it goes against freedom of speech, it would be racist, and it wouldn t help unite the country.
The first reason for that is that it would go against freedom of speech. If you were the president, you
wouldn t be able to give speeches and talk about anything in any language other than English. If you
wanted to create laws in a state like Hawaii in the official language, you wouldn t be able to because
the official language in Hawaii is Hawaiian ( Hawaiian Language Basics ). This goes against freedom
of speech because you wouldn t be allowed to speak however you want to without interference from

The Is My Heart And My Soul, America, My Mind And Spirit,...
According to the article The Korean Language in America , Cultural identity is formed by the complex
configuration of one s awareness of one s own culture and a recognition of the social group to which
one belongs in practice. (117). Everyone has an identity that was created by culture. Everyone have a
culture that they were born into, sometimes with a mix of two or three cultures. Each culture has
different values and traditions that conflict a person s decision in life. However, having different
cultures make one interesting to learn about and explore the cultures. Cultures define my life with
romance, traditions, language, and friendship.
The autobiography I chose is Korea is My Heart and My Soul, America is My Mind and Spirit by
Leah Lee. It is about a woman whose conflict is with herself, her Korean and American cultures, and
her values. The article I chose is Living in Two Cultures by Andrew Lam; he described his
experiences coming to the United States and comparing and contrasting Vietnamese and American
cultures. Another article I chose is The Korean Language in America: The Role of Cultural Identity in
Heritage Language Learning by Jin Sook Lee. It is a study about the role of cultural identity and
language for Korean Americans.

Memorandum of Oral Pleading
Memorandum of Oral Pleading
Parties: Mr de Jong (Claimant) and Mini Coza (Defendant)
Date and time: Thursday 4th October 2012, 10:00hrs
Judge: Mr. de Vries
The Group: Pasi Lindqvist, Daan Bredenbeek, Nick Bruurmijn and Redmer van Berkum
Overview of the Facts and the Compensation Sought
On the 1st of January 2011 the claimant Mr. de Jong purchased a buggie through a German provider
Mini Coza, who operated in the Netherlands for €275. The buggie was to be used by the claimant s
over one year old son Daan.
According to the product description the buggie was suitable for kids aged one year onwards. The
claimant used the buggie in a proper and normal manner on a paved path without any serious
obstacles. Regardless of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Misrepresentation has occurred in the sense of providing misleading product description inducing the
claimant to buy the product i.e. to conclude the contract with the trader.
Because of the defective performance the council of the claimant suggests that the buggy shall be
replaced, as special performance on the part of the trader, with a similar product. This can be
established by Article 6:103, which states that the compensation can be paid in another form than only
money, in this case, a new buggy.
Tort Law Wrongful Act: Dutch Private Law (BW)
Tort Law and Wrongful Act shall be used in the claimant s case because of the fact that the purchase
price of the buggy has been below €500. Therefore the rules and regulations of product liability do not
hold, and the case needs to be considered in terms of a wrongful act.
First of all the fact that Mini Coza has manufactured a defect product, and furthermore the fact that
Mini Coza has let this faulty product to enter the market, which finally led to a one year old child to
fall down to the ground and hurt himself, can be considered as a wrongful act. This is established by
Article 6:162 in the Dutch Private Law, which measures the wrongful act.
Furthermore, this wrongful act has caused damages to the claimant s son, which can be represented by
the monetary damage (the medical costs) worth of €2500.

One attribute that we measured in this study was the participant s tendency to engage in and enjoy

this survey participants indicated the extent to which they endorse each statement using a Likert type
scale. This scale consists of 18 items on a 5 point scale ranging from 1 (extremely characteristic) to 5
(extremely uncharacteristic). (Petty et. al, 1984) In the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (ASI) (Glick
Fiske, 1996), two positively correlated components of sexism: sexist antipathy or Hostile Sexism (HS)
and a subjectively positive orientation toward women or Benevolent Sexism are used to predict
subject s ambivalent attitudes toward women (Glick Fiske, 1996). This scale consists of 12 items on a
5 point Likert type scale ranging from 1 (Disagree strongly) to 5 (Agree strongly). Using this scale,
participants were able to indicate their level of agreement to each statement presented. Furthermore, in
order to measure the BIG FIVE personality dimensions, participants completed the Ten Item

Analysis Of Kelly Clarkson s Piece
Learning to Trust: Kelly Clarkson Piece by Piece
A recent performance that captured not only the audience but also the judges on American Idol by
Kelly Clarkson called Piece By Piece not only had everybody in tears but also in complete awe. This
performance became huge in the world of Facebook, so many people watching the video, sharing the
video, and telling their stories about their feelings related to the lyrics. Throughout this essay I will be
discussing Kelly Clarkson s journey throughout her life, how single family parenting is impacting the
society, how the outlook on single family homes have changed throughout generations because it is
becoming more of a norm and finally the emotional connection to the songs that she has written in
regards to her father and the struggles she has faced throughout her life. To me Kelly has a way of
capturing her audience and pulling them into the songs and really making the lyrics make sense, and
helping people in similar situations realize that they are not alone in their struggles. Watching the
judges including Keith Urban sit and cry at her performance, showed how much this song really spoke
to so many people, and got me crying even harder then I was just listening to the song. Kelly has been
a huge success since winning the first season of American Idol. She came back to perform this
powerful piece on their final show. Even watching Jennifer Lopez reaction was hard to see. Everybody
was just pulled into this song and you

The Stigma Of The Homeless
During the Great Depression, the homeless were almost glamorized as vagabonds who rode the rails
with their belongings neatly tied up in a bandana over their shoulder. Today, the homeless can be
anyone: children or women escaping an abusive relationship or those who just cannot afford to pay for
housing. While some homeless people maintain employment of some sort, long term homelessness is
usually a function of the inverse; either severely under employed or no income stream at all with
which to pay rent and utilities. While quite a bit of academic research has shown the need to focus on
societal causes of homelessness, people who are homeless seem to be increasingly perceived and
treated within a paradigm of individual sickness. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
National estimates suggest that nearly 2 million youth experience homelessness (Rhodes, Wine Rice,
April 2014) and that between 5 25% of those have some sort of pet. While it appears that pet
ownership may contribute to a wide range of benefits, this also presents conflicts that arise within the
homeless population. Homeless respondents also have stated that the general public tends to treat them
better or are more likely to talk to them because of their pets, with the pets acting as social facilitators
(Ibed). Pet ownership can strike such a strong emotional chord within a homeless person that it has
been found within research that had not specifically focused on pet ownership within the homeless

mechanisms. This attachment to their pets are many times so strong that they (homeless) would
sacrifice personal healthcare and other social services if no one was available to care for their pet
while utilizing said treatment (J. Wasserman and J. Clair, 2010).
Studying the comparison between people helping the homeless with a pet, rather than helping the

Bourbon Reform In Spanish America And Pombaline Reforms In...
The Bourbon Reforms in Spanish America and the Pombaline Reforms in Brazil were both motivated
by the European state s interest in increasing defense, centralizing authority, and expanding economic
benefits of the their Latin American colonies. The Bourbon Reforms began under Philip V, the first
Bourbon King of Spain, and were initially concerned with proper and efficient governing of the
Spanish Colonies in America. These early reforming projects primarily focused on issues of
administration and jurisdiction. The viceroyalty of Peru was divided. In 1739 the viceroyalty of New
Granada was created with its capital in Bogotá. Later in 1776 the viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata
was established with its capital in Buenos Aires, which gained control of the silver mines and mint in
Potosí. One of the most significant of the Bourbon administrative reforms was the implementation of
the French style intendancy system, in which a government official, an intendant, was appointed
essentially to supervise an established territory, responsible for overseeing the military and financial
affairs of the region. Most all of the officials appointed during the administrative restructuring of the
Spanish colonies were Spanish born, this, combined with other Bourbon Reforms, which were meant
to limit the authority and autonomy of creoles, resulted in tension between different social classes in
the colonies. Defense was also of paramount importance to Bourbon Reformers. Many Spanish

August 10, 2015 Abstract
The term computer virus is often used as a blanket term for all types of malware. The opposite is true.
A computer virus is, simply, yet another type of malware, although one of the most common. This
paper will discuss several of the different types of malware, from viruses, to worms, to Trojan horses,
what exactly they are, the ways they are used to attack us, and ways to combat them. Perhaps the most
important in the fight against malware is the prevention of them. We will discuss ways to prevent
being infected by malware, by using programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term computer virus is frequently used to describe any software that is used to cause damage to
the computer, although it is merely one type of malware. There are many types of malware currently
in use, and there will likely be many more created. Although there are many similarities between the
different types of malware, there are also many differences in the ways they are created and the ways
they behave.
Common Types of Malware
According to Nate Lord, in an article titled Common Malware Types , found on Infosec Island
(www.infosecisland.com), although the number of malware programs will make your head spin , some
of the most common types of malware are: Spyware, Trojan Horse, Virus and Worm. Malware is short
for malicious software and is used as a broad term that refers to a variety of malicious programs .
(Lord, 2012)
Virus
A computer virus is a computer program that is usually hidden within another seemingly innocuous
program and that produces copies of itself and inserts them into other programs and usually performs
a malicious action (as destroying data) (www.merriam webster.com, 2015). The traditional computer
virus, as we know it, began to emerge in the 1980s, however, the first detected computer virus, known
as the Creeper Virus, in the early 1970s (Computer Virus, 2015). The first personal computer virus to
appear was in 1982, and was known as Elk Cloner . It attached

Greatest Scientific Discoveries
Antibiotics Antibiotics transformed medicine. The discovery of antibiotics began by accident. On the
morning of September 3rd, 1928, Professor Alexander Fleming was having a clear up of his cluttered
laboratory. Fleming was sorting through a number of glass plates which had previously been coated
with staphyloccus bacteria as part of research Fleming was doing. One of the plates had mould on it.
The mould was in the shape of a ring and the area around the ring seemed to be free of the bacteria
staphyloccus. Further research on the mould found that it could kill other bacteria and that it could be
given to small animals without any side effects. However, within a year, Fleming had moved onto
other medical issues and it was ten years later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They wanted to devise an inter networking system (or internet) whereby different networks could talk
to one another. Arpanet devised TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol). This was a
set of rules for communication between networks. The Internet became a network of networks. Only
the military stayed outside of this for security reasons. In 1988, there were 50,000 computers attached
to the Internet. By 1991, there were 1 million. However, it was difficult to access the information
contained on the Internet as the system had little organisation. This problem was solved by Tim
Berners Lee, a British scientist studying at a research facility in Switzerland. He invented a method of
organising information which he called the world wide web (www). His system linked documents
from different sources and guided users to related information. The www was first used by the public
in 1991 and it allowed the transfer of text, sound, images and video clips. Above all else, it was simple
to use. In 1998, 130 million people were using the Internet and the figure continues to grow annually.
The Jet Engine Sir Frank Whittle s jet engine transformed travel. The jet engine has allowed millions
of people now to do something that was barely thinkable just 70 years ago crossing the Atlantic at

The Orion Skyquest Series
The Orion SkyQuest series is one of the most distinguished brands when it comes to reflector
telescopes. While all the reflectors in this range are highly durable, they are also quite well marked for
an undeniable value. A dobsonian is a telescope that uses the Newtonian style of bouncing rays of
light back into the scope from the tube. The mirror s width allows for varying amounts of photons
depending on the telescope. The wider the mirror the more luminous the image. Newton was able to
create a reflecting telescope that was much more powerful than the small tube used by Galileo, and
this resulted in a revolution in telescope construction adhered to by Orion SkyQuest today. Here is a
listing of all the telescopes from the SkyQuest series ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it is petite when placed next to the more professional reflectors in this product range, you
will most likely be floored by the strength it demonstrates when placed next to your 60mm refractor.
Indeed, it is 260 times more powerful! You can slew Mars, Saturn and track some great crater filled
sights of the moon. The XT4.5 is perfect for your children, and if you re excited about the outdoors,
pack it along on camping trips. A major step up from the 4.5 , the XT6 sends you 80X more light than
the XT4.5. The thing people will often tell you is that it s best not to spend less than $300 on a
telescope. The 6 destroys this rule. Toss out the 60mm; the 6 mirror makes for an excellent 1st or 2nd
telescope. The Skyquest 6 comes with an additional option, the Intelliscope. This add on allows you to
travel the sky by way of a computerized system. Introducing the Orion XT8. This is powerful enough
telescope to capture the ice caps on Mars and a catalogue of other attractions with flare. The 8 also has
a price that is well positioned at just over $300. This telescope is also stocked with two laudable

Essay On Jefferson Davis Death
Abraham Lincoln, the president of the United States of America, had a difficult job. Not only did this
man strive to unite the country once again, he also had the responsibility of deciding the fate of
Jefferson Davis, the former president of the Confederate States of America. Many Northerns believed
Jefferson should at least be imprisoned, if not put to death for his actions. Southerners, on the other
hand, viewed Davis as a hero and could not bear the thought of their hero being punished. Wanting to
keep the recently re united country at peace with one another, President Lincoln was left in a bind.
Former Confederate President Jefferson Davis was arrested on May 10, 1865 at Irwinville, Georgia by
Northern soldiers. He was then transferred to Fort Monroe, Virginia where he was placed in prison for
two years. He was never tried for treason for fear that Davis would be able to successfully prove that
succession was legal. In May of 1867, almost exactly two years later, Davis was released from prison
on bail due to the funds of several wealthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While I believe Davis should have had some sort of punishment, I would not go as far to believe he
should be put to death, like many Northerns. I do not believe in the death sentence. The death sentence
is no different from murder, regardless of what the reasoning is; it is taking a life. In Exodus 20, God
gives the commandment, You shall not murder. The death sentence is murder.
Instead of a death sentence, I would sentence Jefferson Davis to life in prison. This man did commit
treason by leading a country that was viewed as illegally seceding. However, Davis did not desire to
become president of the Confederate States of America. He rather had the desire to be the general of
the Confederate states. A life in prison would ensure that Jefferson

Jem Finch Character Development
To Kill a Mockingbird was written by Harper Lee and was published in 1960. This story occurs in the
1930 s. The story is told in first person participant as told by Scout Finch. The story takes place in
Maycomb county Alabama. There are many impotent characters who play a crucial role on the
evolution in the story.
There are six main characters who play a role in the development of the story. These six characters are
Scout Finch, Jem Finch, Atticus, Tom Robinson, Calpurnia and Boo Radley. Scout Finch is the
daughter of Atticus Finch and she is a central character. She is controlling, a genius and is a tom boy.
The story would be radically different without her. Jem is Scout s older brother, he is a teenager, loves
football and he takes care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The expedition starts with introducing Maycomb county to the reader. Next the book introduces the
reader to the Finch family. This is when Scout, Jem and Atticus become central characters. After this
the book tells the reader about the Ewell family, they are not such good news. Around the same time
Scout, Jem and Dill (their friend) play the Boo Radley game. Conflicts arise in the story when Scout,
Jem and Dill start to annoy Boo Radley, their quiet neighbor. Action picks up when Tom Robinson
(black man) is arrested for allegedly beating Mayella Ewell (white woman). Atticus Finch is a lawyer
in town and he takes on Tom Robinson s case. To Kill a Mockingbird reaches a climax when Tom
Robinson is wrongly convicted of the crime. Atticus made the jury stay out for a while to think about
their decision. Ultimately Tom gets convicted, he tried to escape prison but he got shot by the guards.
This is a turning point in the story because a lot of people are mad at Atticus, specifically Bob Ewell.
Atticus undermined Bob s character during the trial accusing Bob of committing the crime. The falling
action consists of a false sense that things are calming down in the Maycomb community but that all
changes when Bob Ewell attacks Scout and Jem on a night near Halloween. He attacks them with a
kitchen knife. Boo Radley came to the rescue and killed Bob. During the scuffle, Jem s arm gets
broken in this ordeal. The story ends with an unexpected meeting between two characters. Bob gets
stabbed by Boo but Mr. Tate(sheriff) says that Bob fell on his own knife. Mr. Tate does this so Boo
does not need to go to court. After overhearing this conversation, Scout decides to walk Boo home and
he will never be seen

How Did Joseph Haydn Develop
Joseph Haydn (1732 1809) is recognized as one of the most famous composers of the Classical Era
due to his contributions to the classical style. Not only is Haydn recognized today as a brilliant
composer, but he was also popular during his time due to his originality and new ideas in music. Some
of his new ideas include generating the basic development of formal structure in various styles of
music and creating his own musical characteristics that deviate from the standards of his time. His
individuality is demonstrated through his numerous symphonies, string quartets, piano trios, piano
sonatas, masses, and operas specifically the works that were composed while he was at the Esterhazy
palace. Haydn s success and originality is attributed to the time he spent working for the Esterhazy
family while developing his unique style of composing. The time Haydn spent at the Esterhazy Palace
contributed greatly to his musical success and individuality through his relationship with the family,
isolation from other musicians, and the support he received both inside and outside of the palace.

  • 2. Explain Why The Hangman Gets A Close Up The Hangman gets a Closeup Being a hangman was a fruitless job, living your life just to see death. There was no point to it, the harm was only coming to the person who hangs people. Hangman s decrease population and cause people to not rest in peace. While the buffoons out there trying to pull the same old shenanigans, they are getting themselves harmed. Now enough with the people getting hanged, let s give the hangman a closeup. A hangman hangs wayward people because hanging has no discipline so they have no way of getting out of it. The hangman was hostile towards the people he hanged otherwise he wouldn t hang them. All a hangman does is basically inflict death for something that may have been a petty crime. This was a job back in times ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Courtroom Observation Going into this particular assignment I wasn t really sure what to expect or even where I needed to go to see an interesting case mainly because I had never been to the County building before or observed a courtroom proceeding before. However, I went this past Thursday to try to watch and see what I could learn. When I arrived to the county building I wasn t sure where the courtrooms were so I was kind of wandering around. After a few minutes a man approached me and asked what I was there for and I told him to observe a courtroom for a class so he directed me to the info office for further help. After explaining to them why I was there an officer told me Courtroom 4 which is the Major Felony court had some interesting cases so I should go there. Throughout the duration of this paper I will explain in detail the five different cases that I observed while I was there. The first case I observed I missed a little bit of the beginning due to wandering around the building lost for a while. Due to this I missed the name the defense attorney as well as the name of the prosecutor. This particular case was The State of Indiana v. Kim Cooney Thomas and her charges were battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, as well as leaving the scene of an accident. The second case that I observed was State of Indiana v. Nikki Hart. The defendant was in court due to a probation violation from a prior arrest. This case moved pretty fast and the judge set her trial date for December 1, ... This model can help reduce the impact of illness for children and families by encouraging all family members as well as health care workers to work together to achieve the best outcomes for their child (Arango,2011). According to Kuo et al. (2012), the main point of this model is respect and dignity, information sharing, and participation. Firstly, a nurse must listen and respect the patient and caregiver for their background, culture, values, and beliefs. Providing the welcoming, assessable and responsive care to Anne and her family. Protecting privacy during consultation and treatment time for Anne and her family. The nurse should not make any assumption about Anne or her family s beliefs (Wilfred et al., 2012). The nurse need to find out what Anne and her family know about health problem and treatment. This is because planning and delivery of care will be affected by the patient and caregiver s perspective, therefore, a nurse should be understanding Anne and her family s concerns and put them into treatment and care with appropriate support for her and her family members (Wilfred et al., 2012). By doing this the nurse will have the benefit such as gaining the greater trust and respect from Anne and her family. Longboarding is one such trend where a lot of women participate in. Some of these women make something more of the activity, and turn it into an adventure, like these women. You have to admit, there s nothing more sexy or endearing than a women bombarding the neighborhood hill on her longboard, sparking and smoking like Native American Chieftain upon greeting a guest. • 6. Huburt Watches Case Study Course Name: Market Management Student Number: 2014104 Purpose of the paper This paper will highlight how Hublot watches use the elements of the marketing mix to target its position and to achieve its competitive force. The essay is composed of two main parts. The first part includes the analysis of the segmentation and target of Hublot watches and its major competitors. The second part is adopting marketing mix (4P) to illustrate how the company differentiate itself from competitors to satisfy costumers, then to enhance its market share percent and sales. Background Currently, luxury product can be found everywhere and the demand of them is high (Kapferer and Bastien, 2008: 311). Each company wants its products to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hublot segment its target market by demographics which illustrate different customers attitudes. According to Dubois et al. (2001: 35), there are three types of customers. The first is Elitist s Group , customers in this group state that luxury product must be small educated, sophisticated and refined. And it should differentiate itself from others. It is indeed expensive and cannot be mass distributed (ibid). The second type is Democratic group that customers in this section consider the luxury should be mass distributed and accessible to consumers. To appreciate luxury goods no special education is required, this section do not consider luxury should be reserved to refined people. Additionally, they think that it is not the word of good taste or differentiation, it is also not necessary to be expensive. The customers in this section has being positive to luxury (ibid). While the last section should be the Distant group , which means customers do not have a negative attitude towards luxury, they consider luxury is another world where they do not belong to. In fact, luxury does not attract them, also they cannot find out any value, attribute or relevance, especially useless and too expensive. They report that more taxes should be paid from luxury (ibid). Thus, based on the customers attitudes, Hublot mainly focuses on the Democratic group which can be shown in Appendix 1 (Gautschi, 2005: 9) and Appendix 2 (ibid). Hublot s products are ... • 7. Scarcity, Accessibility, Utilization And Stability Factors... Chapter 5 The availability, accessibility, utilization and stability factors affecting the intake of fruits from trees in forest areas in Cameroon Introduction and problem In sub Saharan Africa, just under one in every four people, or 23.2 percent of the population, is estimated to be undernourished in 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). This is the highest prevalence of undernourishment for any region in the World and, with about 220 million hungry people in 2014 16, the second highest burden in absolute terms. The number of undernourished people increased by 44 million between 1990 to 92 and 2014 to 2016. In the Central African sub region, the number of undernourished people more than doubled between 1990 92 and 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). The lack of progress in the rate of undernourishment in absolute terms reflects prevailing problems in the sub region, notably poor food consumption patterns caused amongst others by limited understanding on the dimensions of food security, political instability and forest degradation. It is therefore absolute to carry out investigations to properly understand the dimensions of food security especially with changing environmental conditions. Promoting the consumption of fruits in poor communities and amongst vulnerable groups could help in addressing problems of nutrient deficiency and malnutrition (Kehlenbeck et al., 2013; Place et al., 2013; Tchoundjeu et al., 2012). Deforestation has existed ever since the existence of mankind (de Wasseige et ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Yellow Press Book Summary 1. The Yellow Press as defined in our book was a battle to sell more newspapers that pitted the New York World owned by Joseph Pulitzer and the New York Journal owned by William Randolph Hearst against one another (book p. A 70). Hearst used the color yellow to print his comics mixing facts with sensationalizing accounts of crime and political corruption with aggressive appeals to patriot sentiments (book p. 667). Pulitzer and Hearst send reporters to Cuba. They sent back reports of Spanish cruelty some of which are factual and some that were not. These stories begin to rile the American people. Also at this time, Thomas Edison invents the motion picture camera and people are shown newsreels of the Cuban struggles. Atrocities are shown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Filipinos had been fighting the Spanish prior to the arrival of the U.S. Aguinaldo knew he needed a major power to help him with his struggle. Aguinaldo met with Dewey in Hong Kong and sailed with him to the Philippines. After Dewey s naval victory in the Manila Bay, Aguinaldo believed he could begin Filipino independence so he formed his government based on the U.S. Constitution. However, the U. S. turned against him when they annexed the island nation. McKinley justified his position saying it would take them 100 years to understand what true freedom means (book, p.672). At the time of the insurrection, America was becoming aware of the atrocities committed by American troops such as the burning of villages, torture of POW s, and rape and execution of civilians (book, p.677). Aguinaldo was not treated fairly at all. If the U.S. was not so short sighted, he could have founded his government. We could have had a stronger ally during WWII. We were lucky the Japanese were more brutal than we were. However, in our defense, we did our best to Americanize the island nation by modernizing their infrastructure, education and medical treatment systems (book, p. 672). Why was this war so little remembered by the American people? I believe this had a lot to do with Douglas McArthur. He loved the Filipino people and it about killed him to leave them to the Japanese. He vowed to return and return he did. He along with his Filipino guerillas defeated the Japanese. After winning WWII, the Philippines were granted their independence. I believe this is why no one knows about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. How Does Starvation Affect Larval Behavior Starvation impacts larval behavior as measured in the two choice assay a) 3rd instar larvae: From previous studies of our lab (Newquist, Novenschi et al. 2016) we learnt that each larval ORN is functionally diverse and each ORN differentially contributes to olfactory behavior in the Drosophila melanogaster larvae. Based on these results, we postulated that individual ORNs might be differentially modulated under starved state conditions. To begin to address this question we started with a panel of seven different odorants from the panel of 19 different odorants published in the study by (Mathew, Martelli et al. 2013). Each of the seven odorants elicits a strong, specific physiological response from a single ORN (Or 47a :: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Larvae on each half are counted, RI is calculated using simple equation RI =(S C)/(S+C) [S denotes number of larvae on the odorant/test side and C denotes number of larvae towards the control side]. The data from this experiment is presented in Figure 1. When tested for odorant acetal, starved larvae showed higher RI when compared to non starved larvae. In other words, starved larvae have a stronger attractive response towards acetal compared to the non starved larvae. Next, we looked at the olfactory responses of the remaining six odorants from the panel of seven that were mentioned above. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, starved and non starved larvae were subjected to the two choice assay after 2 hours of the starvation protocol. Data collected for all seven different odorants are shown in Figure 2. Of all the seven odorants tested, only three odorants showed significant changes in response indices upon starvation. Acetal (shown in Figure 1), 4, 5 dimethylthiazole, and pentyl acetate were the three odorants that showed higher RI values for starved state larvae when compared to non starved larvae. In other words, for these three odorants starved larvae had higher attractiveness towards odorants compared to non starved larvae. This supported our hypothesis that individual ORNs might be differentially modulated by the animal s starved state. b) 2nd instar larvae: Next, we looked at the olfactory behavior response of 2nd ... The Driftless area, unlike the rest of the Mid West, escaped the terrain smoothing, mineral depositing influences of the ice sheets during the glacial period (Jefferson, 2010). The bedrock contains limestone, sandstone and shale, and is exposed or near the surface making it popular for sand mining. About 95 present of the frac sand mining in the United State is done here. This material is often stockpiled separately on the site for use during mine reclamation (Wisconsin). Unfortunately the wild life is displaced, bird migration is interrupted and the vegetation is destroyed. The Driftless area has a lot of plants that are unique to this area only. Explosives are then used to break the bedrock apart. The unwanted rock such as the limestone and shale are stock piled to be used later for the reclamation process. Excavation equipment and dump trucks bring the sandstone to the crusher that is located on the mining site. The crusher breaks the sandstone chunks into individual sand grains. The sand has to be filtered to remove the smaller grains of sand that are not acceptable for fracking. The entire process causes a release of silica dust. Inhaling silica dust can lead to serious, sometimes fatal illnesses including silicosis, lung cancer, tuberculosis (in those with silicosis), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Silica exposure has also been linked to renal disease and other cancers. In 1996, the World Health Organization International Agency on Cancer Research (IARC) identified silica dust as a known human carcinogen (Center). Due to this risk factor the federal government regulates workers exposed to silica dust, but there are no limits set for the general public (Wisconsin). This is a big ... This is a place where energy and matter are transformed and transported. Analyses that can be used to assess the functioning of land ecosystems is abiotic indicators, biological indicators, and atmospheric indicators. Abiotic indicators can include pH, moisture, and temperature. Soil temperature and moisture are important environmental factors that affect the conservation and physiology of earthworms (M.L. Presley et al, 1996). Biological indicators can include earthworms, plants, and leaf litter. Atmospheric indicators include carbon dioxide emissions. Interactions among these three indicators can also help to assess if the ecosystem is functioning. It is hypothesized that a functioning ecosystem is related to many types of interactions, such as earthworms eating leaf litter and leaf litter falling from the plants. It is predicted that IU has good soil quality based on the fact is is near Jordan River, and there is a diversity of plant life growing. What is the ecosystem s quality based on the interactions between leaf litter, soil, and worms? The Bourbon Reforms in Spanish America and the Pombaline Reforms in Brazil were both motivated by the European state s interest in increasing defense, centralizing authority, and expanding economic benefits of the their Latin American colonies. • 32. The Orion Skyquest Series The Orion SkyQuest series is one of the most distinguished brands when it comes to reflector telescopes. While all the reflectors in this range are highly durable, they are also quite well marked for an undeniable value. A dobsonian is a telescope that uses the Newtonian style of bouncing rays of light back into the scope from the tube. The mirror s width allows for varying amounts of photons depending on the telescope. The wider the mirror the more luminous the image. Newton was able to create a reflecting telescope that was much more powerful than the small tube used by Galileo, and this resulted in a revolution in telescope construction adhered to by Orion SkyQuest today. Here is a listing of all the telescopes from the SkyQuest series ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 34. Essay On Jefferson Davis Death Abraham Lincoln, the president of the United States of America, had a difficult job. Not only did this man strive to unite the country once again, he also had the responsibility of deciding the fate of Jefferson Davis, the former president of the Confederate States of America. Many Northerns believed Jefferson should at least be imprisoned, if not put to death for his actions. Southerners, on the other hand, viewed Davis as a hero and could not bear the thought of their hero being punished. Wanting to keep the recently re united country at peace with one another, President Lincoln was left in a bind. Former Confederate President Jefferson Davis was arrested on May 10, 1865 at Irwinville, Georgia by Northern soldiers. He was then transferred to Fort Monroe, Virginia where he was placed in prison for two years. He was never tried for treason for fear that Davis would be able to successfully prove that succession was legal. In May of 1867, almost exactly two years later, Davis was released from prison on bail due to the funds of several wealthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While I believe Davis should have had some sort of punishment, I would not go as far to believe he should be put to death, like many Northerns. I do not believe in the death sentence. The death sentence is no different from murder, regardless of what the reasoning is; it is taking a life. In Exodus 20, God gives the commandment, You shall not murder. The death sentence is murder. Instead of a death sentence, I would sentence Jefferson Davis to life in prison. This man did commit treason by leading a country that was viewed as illegally seceding. However, Davis did not desire to become president of the Confederate States of America. He rather had the desire to be the general of the Confederate states. A life in prison would ensure that Jefferson ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not only is Haydn recognized today as a brilliant composer, but he was also popular during his time due to his originality and new ideas in music. Some of his new ideas include generating the basic development of formal structure in various styles of music and creating his own musical characteristics that deviate from the standards of his time. His individuality is demonstrated through his numerous symphonies, string quartets, piano trios, piano sonatas, masses, and operas specifically the works that were composed while he was at the Esterhazy palace. Haydn s success and originality is attributed to the time he spent working for the Esterhazy family while developing his unique style of composing. The time Haydn spent at the Esterhazy Palace contributed greatly to his musical success and individuality through his relationship with the family, isolation from other musicians, and the support he received both inside and outside of the palace.
