The Motto Analysis
Aubrey Drake Graham is one of the biggest rapper and television actor, who is best known in Canada
for playing a role as Jimmy Brook, the wheelchair guy on Degrassi. He began his transition into the
world of Hip Hop which is a style of popular music of rap, a subculture of inner youths who are
typically devotees of rap music. One of his well known songs is The Motto, a song that has been
popularized and defined as YOLO, an acronym for you only live once. It implies that one should
enjoy life, even if that means to take risks in life. The video, The Motto illustrates that acquiring loads
of cash and material possessions such as good looking low riders, fine women, and appealing jewelry
are the sources of pleasure and happiness. I agree with Drake s interpretation of YOLO because in the
United States, having money gives an individual access to anything and although the United States is a
free country, money can give freedom and choices.
The phrase YOLO has been widely used by young adolescents in high school. According to NBC
Chicago News article, Students arrested following Conant High ... Show more content on

The Negative Effects Of Technology On Education
In our world, technology has marked its own impact in our society. Since the birth of the digital age,
technology has only advanced and has lessened many difficulties previously imposed on earlier
centuries. Whether noticeable or not, technology is connected to every single action and transaction in
our world today. Mechanics, purchasing, communications, agriculture, and education are few fields
where technology have been implemented in. Technology has awarded consumers the opportunity to
purchase items from any location, allows for the exchange of information through individuals, and led
to productivity and accuracy in the agricultural field. However, the use of technology has been
misunderstood in its relationship with education. Opponents of technology in terms education can
state that it is the primary cause that literacy rates have decreased in recent years, since technology can
distract from literacy development or academic engagement. The question arises is technology
detrimental to literacy development and engagement or is it beneficial. Should technology and the
digital age be reevaluated in its effectiveness in literacy development and academic engagement?
Absolutely, technology should be reevaluated in effectiveness in literacy development due to the fact
it provides more opportunities then barriers. When evaluating ideas, we should look at the pros and
the cons; and if the pros outweighs the cons the ideas should be accepted as the influential.
Technology has made literacy development more adaptable, led to the development of new literacy
skills such as critical thinking and research skills, while providing personal instruction. A benefit of
technology in literacy development is that it can reach students with learning disabilities or challenges
than traditional texts. Students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, or ADHD are not able to sit
down over a long period of time and read a traditional text due to challenges imposed. To properly
gain an understanding of a text time must be spent with the existing knowledge of some words.
Students or persons in general with dyslexia are unable to understand words we common take for
granted students with ADHD are unable to stay focus over a long

The Pros And Cons Of The Banking Crisis
Banking crisis has been much more frequent than any of the expectations by research or any of the
banks. The annual probability of a crisis has been judged to be around 4 5% in both the industrial
sector and emerging market countries (Walter, 2010). The banking sector has been effected by many
factors which contributes to its vulnerability. Some of the factors that adds to the vulnerability of the
bank are minimum availability of high quality capital, lack of high quality liquid assets, and sources
for reliable funding.
After the great economic crisis of 2008 (Subprime crisis), many banks had failed leading to a great
recession. Since the beginning of the financial turbulence which began in the year 2007, globally the
banks have reported a total write downs and losses of more than 888 billion dollars. At the same time
some of them have estimated the overall expected loss of various banks and financial institutes in the
range of 2.2 trillion dollars (Global Financial Report Market Updated, 28 Jan 2009). Banking crisis
are usually associated with significant economic losses. During the crisis many banks had failed to

The major problem is with respect to the Ethics in Banking, which was the major cause of all the crisis
and failures. May even a stringent norm come, it will still have some loopholes which the Banking
Wizards will find out. Unless the core of banking which is the Trust of customer that is gained, no
bank can ever be successful. If we observe down the lane, we will see that behind all the failures of
the banks was the lack of trust by the customers over banks. And the reason being simple that the
banks had forgone the Ethics for the sake of Profitability. And this is the point where the main
problem starts, for this being the very foundation is

Essay about Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
The central conflict in the novel Wuthering Heights written by Emily Bronte is Heathcliff. Heathcliff s
internal conflicts affect how all of the other characters interrelate. Heathcliff throughout the book
never does anything honorable or dignified. Heathcliff creates whirlwinds of problems by just being
present, sometimes, by not even doing a thing. Heathcliff s problems not only the affect the Earnshaw
s but also their neighbors Edgar Isabella Linton. Heathcliff comes to live with the Earnshaw s, which
also includes their children Catherine and Hindley. As Graham Holderness states, The gipsy brat old

(Berg 59) Catherine provides Heathcliff with love, support, a sense of right and wrong, and a feeling
of self esteem. Heathcliff is addicted to the emotions that Catherine provides for him, that he is unable
to provide for himself.
Catherine cannot, at first, decide whom to marry. Catherine wonders if she should marry the man she
loves or the man that can provide her with material security. Catherine tells Nelly that I ve no more
business to marry Edgar Linton than I have to be in heaven: and if the wicked man in there had not
brought Heathcliff so low, I shouldn t have thought of it. It would degrade me to marry Heathcliff now
(Bronte 120) Catherine also states that Whatever our souls are made of, his {Heathcliff s} and mine
are the same, and Linton s {Edgar} is as different as moonbeam from lightening, or frost from fire.
(Bronte 121) Catherine wants to be with Heathcliff even though she knows all about him. But
Catherine s need for psychological security and material comforts out weighs her desire to be with
Heathcliff. (Goodlett 124)
Catherine marries Edgar Linton and moves to Thrushcross Grange and is separated from Heathcliff.
Heathcliff begins to lead Hindley to destruction, and courts Isabella in order to hurt Edgar. When he
finds out that Catherine married Edgar in his absence.

Absentee Voting in the United States
The U.S Constitution gives the states considerable latitude in the way of conducting elections. The
American citizens have many opportunities to vote. However, a turnout in American elections has
dramatically decreased over the past several decades. In order to address this issue, majority of states
have allowed absentee voting reforms. These convenient reforms are thought to increase the voter
turnout in the elections, as well as to reduce administrative costs. There are several forms of absentee
voting that are believed to improve overall voting quality. Permanent absentee voting is one of them.
This particular rule allows the voter to vote absentee without requesting an absentee ballot for each
election (Sabato 2013, 98). Generally, permanent absentee voting was available for military voter and
individuals with disabilities in order to increase certain categories of voters. Currently, According to
National Conference of State Legislatures, every state permits an absentee ballot to certain voters.
While 27 states allow no excuse absentee voting, in other 21 states the excuse is required. Eight states
including Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Montana, New Jersey and
Utah offer voters the option to register for no excuse permanent absentee voter status. Five states such
as Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri and West Virginia, allow permanent absentee voter
status for voters with disability. While Alaska and Delaware offer

Lutheran Church Research Paper
The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Historical Facts Where and How Does This Faith Perspective
Originate? The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod is a mission oriented, Bible based, confessional
Christian denomination headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., founded on the teachings of Martin Luther.
Its beginnings can be traced to 750 Saxon immigrants who came to the State of Missouri in the United
States of America in 1839. These German immigrants established a new church body in America,
seeking the freedom to practice and follow confessional Lutheranism. Initial members, that included
12 pastors representing 14 congregations from Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, New York and
Ohio, signed the church body s constitution on April 26, 1847, ... Show more content on

Antibiotics Vs Antibiotic Free Meat
I understand your confusion on whether or not to purchase antibiotic free meat because many people
are uneducated on genetically modified foods and their impact on our health. With that being said,
before you decide if antibiotic free meat is best for your family you have to understand what
antibiotics are, and the difference between meat that is treated with antibiotics versus antibiotic free
meat.
Antibiotics are commonly known as medicines that are used to prevent or kill bacteria and have been
used for decades to treat humans. In humans, antibiotics are seen as increasing the quality of health
care and extending the lifespan of people by essentially preventing death from infectious diseases.
Like you, many people are unaware that about 80% of the antibiotics sold in the United States are

Central Bank s Influence On The Market In The National...
Define the role of the Central Bank and its influence on the market in the national economy.
Monetary policy is the process of supplying nominal money, look after the availability of money and
cost of interest rate, which is controlled by the government or central bank, can be rather an
expansionary policy, or a contractionary policy. The expansionary policy is adopted to increase the
whole amount of supply of money in the economy, and a contractionary policy is used to decrease the
whole amount of nominal money supply. The central bank or government usually use the
expansionary policy to fight against unemployment in a recession, where they lower the interest rate,
so investment can grow. On the other hand the contractionary policy is ... Show more content on

The raising of government spending is done by purpose, the state wants people to consume and invest
more so the economy will grow faster. But the raising of interest rate is unexpected and not wished to
be the perfect result of tax cuts, because higher the interest rate, lower the investment rate, and this has
a negative effect on the economy.
The Central banks can create money in three different ways, the first is money creation, producing a
new monetary unit, and this is the case when older currencies need to be changed because they can t
be used anymore. Another example is when a new EU member adopts Euros instead of their old
currency. The second is credit creation, where Banks are lending money to other banks, the clue is that
they are not dealing with money as cash but they use virtual money. The third is electronic creation
which is the process of buying government bonds or other financial scriptures by central bank through
Open market operations.
The primary objective of the European Central Bank is to maintain price stability within the Euro
zone, or in other words to keep inflation low. The ECB aims at inflation rates of below, but close to,
2% over the medium term. It s obvious that inflation can influence the savings and that s why also
investment, when the price of goods are rising and peoples income stayed the same so consumers have
less money to save. Inflation can also used by the government

Children Of Lonliness By Anzia Yezierska
The bond between parents and children never deteriorates. Even in times of conflict, there is always
some love and unity between parents and children. However, as time goes on and generations drift
apart, different methods of behavior develop. The tensions between parent and child define the
conflict in Amy Tan s Two Kinds, Anzia Yezierska s Children of Loneliness, and Gish Jen s Who s
Irish. These conflicts explore the cultural gap between the two the way they act differently, their
behavioral differences, and their different thought processes are all conflicts found in the short stories.
Although there is always love and unity between parents and children, the generational divide between
parents and children is shown through the concept of

The daughter could still learn, however, she chooses to disobey her mother and merely pretend to

This indirect rebellion is a central conflict in Two Kinds, both internal, through her thoughts, and
external, through her relationship with her mother. In Children of Loneliness, by Anzia
Yezierska, Rachel struggles with the generational differences to a degree in which she indirectly
dehumanizes her own family. She [jumped] up from the table in disgust; I ll never be able to stand it
here with you people (Yezierska, 178). She refers to her own family as you people as if they are a
different species or race, even though they are her parents who raised her. These two examples
demonstrate the conflict between parents and children as well as the concept of non obedience in the
new generation. However, another factor is parenting style.
The shift in parenting styles through time further differentiates the parents and children with changes
in parenting and punishment. In Gish Jen s Who s Irish, the parenting styles of two generations clash
over their daughter/granddaughter, Sophie. Two perspectives fight over how

Argumentative Essay On US Draft
U.S. Draft Essay
The United States of America has always been a country based on the protection of its citizens
freedom. Due to this long held principle, which comprises the country s core values, the concept of
universal national service (more commonly known as the draft) is quite controversial. Advocates for
the draft argue that the drafting of eligible Americans is necessary to preserve a strong military that is
capable of protecting the U.S. from possible attacks, as well as instilling a sense of national pride in its
youth. While the draft could potentially strengthen the military in theory, the draft could also be quite
counterintuitive in reality. Furthermore, the U.S. Draft, in some ways, could be infringing on citizens
human rights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned above, military officials see the draft as unnecessary. In addition to these officials,
public opposition to the draft is growing. According to a survey, 80 percent of Americans opposed the
draft in 2007 (Text 5, graphic). If the majority of the country opposes something that would directly
affect its youth, then that something should not be reinstituted. Public opinion on the reinstitution of
the draft reflects the opposition that would be present if it were reinstituted. Draft eligible Americans
would most certainly try to find a way out of military service, as draftees have done in the past. But
because the public opinion on the draft has shifted dramatically since 1980, where 59 percent of
Americans were in favor of the draft, the resentment associated with serving would most likely be
higher (Text 5, graphic). This resentment is almost inevitable, especially with pro draft arguments
claiming the need to serve in the military in exchange for citizenship rights (Text 1, line 61). Rights
granted by citizenship should not have requirements in order to make use of them; that is why one is
granted these rights with U.S. citizenship and not after serving in the military. Not only are citizens
rights at stake, but also the right to education. Bill Maxwell argues that serving in the military should
be a requirement in order to attend college (Text 3, line 45). Military service as a requirement for
college would definitely

Argumentative Essay On Cyber Bullying
A recent review of 377 articles found that cyberbullying affects 10 20% of adolescents as either
victims or perpetrators, or both, and is associated with emotional stress, social anxiety, substance
abuse, depressive symptoms, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts (Wiederhold, 2016). Health
professionals can help identify cyberbullies in their young patients by questioning them about
problems they might be having on the internet and meeting strangers online. Health professionals are
encouraged to be alert and to try and detect these signs as soon as possible. Their help may help
prevent a suicide, which is the third leading cause of death for American youth ages 10 24
(Wiederhold, 2016). Help from our health professionals can make a big difference in the life of
children who are being affected by peer or online victimization.
As a community, all adults play an important role in ensuring that all children are safe and free of
victimization. Communities can create strategies that can help identify and support children that are
being victimized by their peers or strangers online. It is also possible to change the behavior of the
perpetrators and bystanders of these harmful events. There are many benefits of working together as a

everywhere within the community. It happens in our parks, churches, malls, extracurricular events,

Billy Budd, And The Fiery Bucephalus
Melville describes Billy in a sexual manner within the first few pages, introducing the sexual language
almost immediately. He is the handsome sailor compared to the young Alexander and the fiery
Bucephalus (Melville 6). Further down the same page he is described as, always attractive in
masculine conjunction and goes under the nickname Baby Budd (Melville 6). There is immediately a
sense of sexual attraction attached to the title character. He is described in sexual terms and presented
as a prime physical example of a man. Inciting feelings of attraction and a sense of tranquility within
the men around him, the reader is shown right away that this is natural when it comes to Billy Budd.
Additionally, due to the fact that the feelings Billy Budd incites in people are introduced within the
first few pages of the novella, the reader feels that it is a natural part of the story throughout it. The
description of Budd s attraction continues from chapter one, into chapter two. His physical
attractiveness is exhaustedly described and it works to allow the reader to see just how easy it is to fall
for the handsome sailor. He is compared to the Hercules of Greek mythology, a handsome and shapely
figure, and to Biblical Adam. The novella reads, Budd, In aspect looked even younger than he really

Consequences of Vietnamese Victory Against the French in...
Assess the consequences of the Vietnamese victory against the French for Indochina in the periods
1954 1964.
The Vietnamese victory against the French at the battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954 brought about
dramatic changes to Indochina. These changes took place in the Geneva Conference which shortly
happened after the battle of Dien Bien Phu. General Vo Nguyen Giap and Ho Chi Minh who were the
Vietminh s leader had only one goal and that was to unify Vietnam and declare independence from
colonial rule but however their goals were not achieved at the end of the Geneva Conference due to a
number of reasons.

The Soviets were more concerned about the security situation in Europe while China feared being
dragged into another Korea style confrontation against the US in Indochina and therefore pressured
the Vietminh to accept the division of Vietnam. The result of the tensions at the conference due to
behind the scenes pressures and secret meetings was the Geneva Agreement of 1954. It was a
compromise which satisfied nobody. This would soon lead to a second Indochina war due to the
involvements of the U.S who sought to spread nationalism and anti communist ideas throughout
Vietnam and the Soviet and China who supported the Communist North.
The historian Stanley Karnow made a comment that America had a strict desire to not be committed to
anything being signed at Geneva because of the fact that US Secretary of State Dulles ordered the US
delegation chief, Bedell Smith, to remain aloof and make no concessions to the Communists. Dulles
knew, suggests Karnow, that whatever was going to come out of Geneva was going to be
unsatisfactory.
The Geneva Conference produced no durable solution to the Indochina conflict, only a military truce
that awaited a political settlement, which never really happened. So the conference was merely an
interlude between two wars or rather, a lull in the same war

Racial Formation
The Racial Formations of the Model Minority and Assimilating Whites
We use the term racial formation to refer to the process by which social, economic and political forces
determine the content and importance of racial categories, and by which they are in turn shaped by
racial meanings. (Omi and Winant 14) Through observing certain events in the economy, politics, and
society, we can understand the unwanted ascribing of racial identities to the minorities that led to their
unfair treatment and discrimination. The underlying factors that led to this utilization of racial
formation were a scarcity of jobs, political policies to maintain power, and racial division through
class differences.
The Chinese migrants were a group of people who migrated to America roughly a year after the the
annexation of California. They were a people the leaders praised, would cultivate Californian land and
develop the railroads that would connect the Atlantic states to what the fathers envisioned as the great
emporium of commerce and trade. The turmoil on their native land was the biggest factor in their
emigration out of China.
They were initially referred to as guest up until there was a scarcity of jobs. Unfortunately for the
Chinese, the rapidly changing economic climate had molded their racial formation. Nativist began to
fight back against the Chinese once they realized that they working against these people for jobs.

Then one day they decide they had enough and decided to meet each other privately. The
characteristic between Romeo and Juliet is also very like Pyramus and Thisbe. Romeo is very brave
and would do anything to see or meet Juliet. Juliet is very obedient, quiet, and innocent. We may have
thought that Juliet is very shy but that doesn t seem to be the case as when she meets Romeo she
speaks as much as Romeo and they kissed twice. Pyramus is also very brave and talks as much as
Romeo. Thisbe is also very like Juliet and loves Pyramus so much. Pyramus is very ignorant as when
he sees a piece of Thisbe s cloth he immediately presumes that an animal killed her and he kills
himself. The same goes for Romeo as when he sees that Juliet is dead he also takes his own life. Juliet
and Thisbe also take their own life when they see that their love is dead. The conflict is also very like
Pyramus and Thisbe. Romeo and Juliet are both from different groups. One group is called Capulet
and the other is called Montague. Romeo is from the Montague while Juliet is from Capulet and this
causes a lot of trouble for both. The Capulets don t get along with the Montagues and if they ever see

The Water Brothers
This essay will evaluate the Water Brothers documentary Plastic Ocean and how well their findings
and the information in the clip, contribute to scientific research. While the Water Brothers did manage
to cover a few key issues, being constricted to a twenty two minute time frame left the Water Brothers
with very little room to address other important information. I believe that if more time had been
given to the Water Brothers, they would have done a better job of informing the public of what s really

Still In The Dark Silent Movie Audience By Gregg Bachman...
After reading the article Still in the Dark Silent Movie Audiences by Gregg Bachman, the experiences
of movie goers helped me understand how people watched or experienced movies when it first started
out. For instance, one person said You felt part of it; you became part of the picture with what was
taking place. We were part of the picture (pg. 121) meaning that as a movie goer you felt the emotion
or action of the film. This emotion still holds true, when I go watch a movie, I always feel the emotion
of the characters throughout out the film. For instance, when I was watching, the film 13 Hours, a
movie about the secret soldiers of Benghazi, the level of emotion throughout the film was high
because the soldiers were trying to survive and keep others safe while risking their own life s. I think
that when men and women go to movies today, it is more acceptable to show your emotions even
though it was entirely accepted in the past. Admittedly, when going to the movies it was seen as the
highlight of the week because you would do anything just go see a movie on a Saturday or Sunday
night. In the article, Still in the Dark Silent Movie Audiences by Gregg Bachman, one ... Show more

growing up, going to see a movie was a special occasion and our family would go out to eat after the

that Japanese customer preferred raw sea food like raw fish, seaweed along with rice in their pizzas.
The Japanese had the option of choosing between American style pizzas and local pizzas.

A Pundit’s Solution to Fixing Drug Violence in Mexico Essay
Thomas Friedman, a biweekly column contributor for the New York Times, is a pundit who
throughout his career has made some bold claims about controversial issues in the news. Bestement
and Gutherson argue that a pundit is merely one who gives opinions in an authoritative manner , and
that while they may speak convincingly, their skills as pundits lie in their ability... to learn quickly
about the broad contours of a wide range of subjects, and to project confidence and authority in
talking about them (Bestement, Gutherson 2005; 2,3). Since a pundit is one who uses existing
prejudices to explain complex issues to large audiences in a concise and very generalized manner,
inaccuracies are frequent in their arguments; but these inaccuracies ... Show more content on

The prohibition of drugs such as cocaine, opium, and marijuana is rooted in the racism and
xenophobia of the people of the United States. It was believed that cocaine consumption by the black
community could make them disregard the barriers that society had established between different
races , while Chinese were portrayed as assiduous opium smokers and Mexicans were labeled as avid
marihuana smokers (Recio 2002; 23,24). These faulty conceptions of the minorities in the United
States resulted in a new perception...that drug consumption could not be morally accepted and
therefore its use should be seriously restricted (Recio 2002; 24). Medical professionals in the United
States were strongly opposed to an all out ban of these drugs, but eventually the United States
congress passed the Harrison Act. This act was initially designed to limit the availability of these
narcotics by requiring a prescription from a physician to obtain them. Later, United States congress
passed the Volstead Act, which prohibited alcohol. In 1922 the Harrison Act became a totally
prohibitionist piece of legislation (Recio 2002; 25, 26). Immediately after the Harrison Act and the
Volstead Acts were passed, illegal drug traffickers took the place of physicians in providing narcotics
to the people who wanted them (Recio 2002; 26). In order to prevent this, the United States
government decided that if the country producing drugs

The Emergence of Surf Music Essays
The Emergence of Surf Music
Many different music styles emerged during the early 1960 s. One of these music styles that was
perhaps the most prominent music style to ever come out of Southern California was Surf Music. Surf
music was a short lived phenomenon that occurred from 1961 to 1965 (Nostalgia, 2002). Along with
the surf music craze, Hollywood also started producing numerous movies about surfing, including
Gidget, and Endless Summer (St. James Encyclopedia, 2003 and Nostalgia, 2002). These movies had
some amazing soundtracks that helped popularize the surf music phenomenon. There are two different
forms of surf music; instrumental and vocal (Holm, 1998 and St. James Encyclopedia, 2003). ... Show

First, let s start with the innovator of surf music and the king of the surf guitar; Dick Dale. Dick was
originally from Boston, but he moved to Southern California when he was seventeen (Wikipedia,
2003). While in California, he became popular for his country guitar playing. At the same time, he was
spending a lot of time with the surfers on the beaches in California. He immediately became intrigued
by the spirit of the surf culture, and the splendor of the ocean waves. He began experimenting with his
music, trying to capture the rhythm and sounds of the ocean. He formed the group Dick Dale and the
Del tones in 1961 (Wikipedia, 2003 and Bettenville). His live performances became a huge local draw,
and his double picking guitar style was admired by many (even Leo Fender who asked him to test
some of his new amplifier prototypes with the notion that if his amplifiers could survive Dick Dale s
playing, they could survive anything) (Bettenville). At the end of 1961, he released his first single, Let
s Go Trippin , which is considered to be the first surf rock recording (St. James Encyclopedia, 2003).
He followed that recording with a few more locally released songs, including Jungle Fever and Surf

The Issue
All over the world people are noticing that the impact of car is greater than we first anticipated. The
carbon emitted from the manufacturing of the mass produced vehicle industry is slowly but surely
ruining our ozone. Since the beginning of the car era to now they have been one of the top things
depleting our ozone, they have done most of the damage which happens to be 80% of the total
destruction. So ask yourself, What s My TireTrak? This growing problem is happening everywhere,
where cars are. The scariest of this entire problem is that we can t get the ozone that we have lost,
back! So if we want to start to help out the environment, we d better start now.

Well for starters, it s the air that your breathing and I m pretty sure that you don t want to be breathing
in all of that pollution. Another fact is that everything a car is made up of (How Stuff Works: Auto) ;
about 2,700 pounds of steel, 50% plastic, 9% aluminum, rubber to seal all the doors and the tires, and
finally all the glass that a car has, we will eventually run out of all of these sources.
(Chemistryexplained.com) There is about 4.7% Steel in the Earth s crust and once this is gone there
won t be anything else to make the strong frame of the car. The car is made of about 50% plastic
meaning that this is also using a natural resource, petroleum, which too will be depleted over time
because of over usage. Petroleum is also used to make lots of other plastic things like plastic bags and
water bottles so this source will be depleted quicker that we think. (Education.jlab) The 9% of
aluminum, aluminum is one of the most abundant metals on the Earth measuring in at about 8.2% of
the Earth s crust. This makes it very easy to take this source for granted. (rubbercal.com) The rubber
from the tires and the door sealings does more damage than you think. Did you know that rubber
comes from a tree called the Hevea brasiliensis that originates in South America. We get oxygen from
that forest! So there we go one great way to deprive us of our oxygen supply you know, not like we
need that. Also it uses glass(treehugger.com) , which uses a lot of electricity to make. we could be
using this waste energy on many other things like heating a home or lighting up a house. So all in all

Donald Trump Monologues
Although my main focus of my mockumentary was Trump s issue with Mexicans, I d like to expand
the focus onto Trump s racism, xenophobia and general thoughts, policies and views that have
offended many different individuals and groups of people. I believe that these things he has said he
would do should nullify his eligibility to run for president.
Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went
as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. According to Forbes
article written by Dolia Estevez, he wants to deport 11.3 million undocumented workers, 6 million of
which are Mexicans, and strip babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship.

Trump recently announced that Muslimes showeuld noot be alowed in the country
One of the scariest things about Trump saying all these things is that there s so many people out there
that think these things and when they see someone who s running for president, they feel like their
opinion is validated. This causes increased racism and xenophobia amongst the population. This is
dangerous because people also feel like they can also now act upon these things; for example someone

  • 2. The Motto Analysis Aubrey Drake Graham is one of the biggest rapper and television actor, who is best known in Canada for playing a role as Jimmy Brook, the wheelchair guy on Degrassi. He began his transition into the world of Hip Hop which is a style of popular music of rap, a subculture of inner youths who are typically devotees of rap music. One of his well known songs is The Motto, a song that has been popularized and defined as YOLO, an acronym for you only live once. It implies that one should enjoy life, even if that means to take risks in life. The video, The Motto illustrates that acquiring loads of cash and material possessions such as good looking low riders, fine women, and appealing jewelry are the sources of pleasure and happiness. I agree with Drake s interpretation of YOLO because in the United States, having money gives an individual access to anything and although the United States is a free country, money can give freedom and choices. • 3. The Negative Effects Of Technology On Education In our world, technology has marked its own impact in our society. Since the birth of the digital age, technology has only advanced and has lessened many difficulties previously imposed on earlier centuries. Whether noticeable or not, technology is connected to every single action and transaction in our world today. Mechanics, purchasing, communications, agriculture, and education are few fields where technology have been implemented in. Technology has awarded consumers the opportunity to purchase items from any location, allows for the exchange of information through individuals, and led to productivity and accuracy in the agricultural field. However, the use of technology has been misunderstood in its relationship with education. Opponents of technology in terms education can state that it is the primary cause that literacy rates have decreased in recent years, since technology can distract from literacy development or academic engagement. The question arises is technology detrimental to literacy development and engagement or is it beneficial. Should technology and the digital age be reevaluated in its effectiveness in literacy development and academic engagement? Absolutely, technology should be reevaluated in effectiveness in literacy development due to the fact it provides more opportunities then barriers. When evaluating ideas, we should look at the pros and the cons; and if the pros outweighs the cons the ideas should be accepted as the influential. Technology has made literacy development more adaptable, led to the development of new literacy skills such as critical thinking and research skills, while providing personal instruction. A benefit of technology in literacy development is that it can reach students with learning disabilities or challenges than traditional texts. Students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, or ADHD are not able to sit down over a long period of time and read a traditional text due to challenges imposed. To properly gain an understanding of a text time must be spent with the existing knowledge of some words. The annual probability of a crisis has been judged to be around 4 5% in both the industrial sector and emerging market countries (Walter, 2010). The banking sector has been effected by many factors which contributes to its vulnerability. Some of the factors that adds to the vulnerability of the bank are minimum availability of high quality capital, lack of high quality liquid assets, and sources for reliable funding. After the great economic crisis of 2008 (Subprime crisis), many banks had failed leading to a great recession. Since the beginning of the financial turbulence which began in the year 2007, globally the banks have reported a total write downs and losses of more than 888 billion dollars. At the same time some of them have estimated the overall expected loss of various banks and financial institutes in the range of 2.2 trillion dollars (Global Financial Report Market Updated, 28 Jan 2009). Heathcliff creates whirlwinds of problems by just being present, sometimes, by not even doing a thing. Heathcliff s problems not only the affect the Earnshaw s but also their neighbors Edgar Isabella Linton. • 6. Absentee Voting in the United States The U.S Constitution gives the states considerable latitude in the way of conducting elections. The American citizens have many opportunities to vote. However, a turnout in American elections has dramatically decreased over the past several decades. In order to address this issue, majority of states have allowed absentee voting reforms. These convenient reforms are thought to increase the voter turnout in the elections, as well as to reduce administrative costs. There are several forms of absentee voting that are believed to improve overall voting quality. Permanent absentee voting is one of them. This particular rule allows the voter to vote absentee without requesting an absentee ballot for each election (Sabato 2013, 98). Generally, permanent absentee voting was available for military voter and individuals with disabilities in order to increase certain categories of voters. Monetary policy is the process of supplying nominal money, look after the availability of money and cost of interest rate, which is controlled by the government or central bank, can be rather an expansionary policy, or a contractionary policy. The expansionary policy is adopted to increase the whole amount of supply of money in the economy, and a contractionary policy is used to decrease the whole amount of nominal money supply. But the raising of interest rate is unexpected and not wished to be the perfect result of tax cuts, because higher the interest rate, lower the investment rate, and this has a negative effect on the economy. The Central banks can create money in three different ways, the first is money creation, producing a new monetary unit, and this is the case when older currencies need to be changed because they can t be used anymore. Another example is when a new EU member adopts Euros instead of their old currency. The second is credit creation, where Banks are lending money to other banks, the clue is that they are not dealing with money as cash but they use virtual money. The third is electronic creation which is the process of buying government bonds or other financial scriptures by central bank through Open market operations. These conflicts explore the cultural gap between the two the way they act differently, their behavioral differences, and their different thought processes are all conflicts found in the short stories. Due to this long held principle, which comprises the country s core values, the concept of universal national service (more commonly known as the draft) is quite controversial. Advocates for the draft argue that the drafting of eligible Americans is necessary to preserve a strong military that is capable of protecting the U.S. from possible attacks, as well as instilling a sense of national pride in its youth. While the draft could potentially strengthen the military in theory, the draft could also be quite counterintuitive in reality. Furthermore, the U.S. Draft, in some ways, could be infringing on citizens human rights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As mentioned above, military officials see the draft as unnecessary. In addition to these officials, public opposition to the draft is growing. According to a survey, 80 percent of Americans opposed the draft in 2007 (Text 5, graphic). If the majority of the country opposes something that would directly affect its youth, then that something should not be reinstituted. Public opinion on the reinstitution of the draft reflects the opposition that would be present if it were reinstituted. Draft eligible Americans would most certainly try to find a way out of military service, as draftees have done in the past. But because the public opinion on the draft has shifted dramatically since 1980, where 59 percent of Americans were in favor of the draft, the resentment associated with serving would most likely be higher (Text 5, graphic). This resentment is almost inevitable, especially with pro draft arguments claiming the need to serve in the military in exchange for citizenship rights (Text 1, line 61). Rights granted by citizenship should not have requirements in order to make use of them; that is why one is granted these rights with U.S. citizenship and not after serving in the military. Not only are citizens rights at stake, but also the right to education. Bill Maxwell argues that serving in the military should be a requirement in order to attend college (Text 3, line 45). Racial Formation The Racial Formations of the Model Minority and Assimilating Whites We use the term racial formation to refer to the process by which social, economic and political forces determine the content and importance of racial categories, and by which they are in turn shaped by racial meanings. (Omi and Winant 14) Through observing certain events in the economy, politics, and society, we can understand the unwanted ascribing of racial identities to the minorities that led to their unfair treatment and discrimination. The underlying factors that led to this utilization of racial formation were a scarcity of jobs, political policies to maintain power, and racial division through class differences. The Chinese migrants were a group of people who migrated to America roughly a year after the the annexation of California. They were a people the leaders praised, would cultivate Californian land and develop the railroads that would connect the Atlantic states to what the fathers envisioned as the great emporium of commerce and trade. The turmoil on their native land was the biggest factor in their emigration out of China. They were initially referred to as guest up until there was a scarcity of jobs. After reading the article Still in the Dark Silent Movie Audiences by Gregg Bachman, the experiences of movie goers helped me understand how people watched or experienced movies when it first started out.
