The Causes Of Family Dynamics
Family Dynamics
Student s Name

Family Dynamics
Harmony among family members creates a sense of belonging and a feeling of security that is
incomparable to other kinds of associations. However, the emergence of tension and conflict may
threaten the prevailing coherence. Conflict is common to all families and siblings can occasionally
disagree; still, continuing clashes can damage relationships and create unnecessary strains among
relatives. Eventually, if such pressures are not resolved, they would affect family celebrations and
make them edgy occasions. Family tensions can be effectively solved through attending family events,
although they may cause siblings to boycott such occasions.
Siblings who have spent most of their early lives together have common values and perceptions.
Consequently, they are expected to live harmoniously together, as they hold common values, ethics,
and beliefs. However, a common upbringing and shared values does not always imply coherent
relationships. According to de Pontent, Aronoff, Mendoza, and Ward (2012) the order of birth, exposes
children to different circumstances depending on their parent s prevailing economic conditions.
Firstborns may arrive when the parents are not financial established. Consequently, they may adopt
different viewpoints from their siblings born when the parents are more affluent. Moreover, birth order
creates sibling rivalry; a cause of tension that may continue into adulthood.

The Ethics And Legal Implications Of The Internal Revenue...
The complexity of the Internal Revenue Code has been the source of genuine concern, standup jokes,
and political theater for years, but its greatest effect on practitioners of tax is to create a myriad of
complicated gray areas and thorny questions that are not quickly resolved to a neat yes or no answer.
This ambiguity has resulted in a situation where the ethical and legal implications of tax practice are
serious considerations for any professional who is engaging in this line of work.
Since 1881, U.S.C. 31 has regulated who can represent other people to the Treasury Department,
which encompasses the IRS. This representation, called practice before the IRS, includes not just
representation in court, but also all forms of communication on behalf of the taxpayer, including
written documentation, phone calls, and interviews. From the beginning, the qualities required to
practice before the IRS were good character, good reputation, competence and qualifications ( Beyond
the Basics. ) Today, those practicing tax or intending to do so need to be aware of a long list of
standards and requirements in order to be compliant with both the IRS, as outlined in Circular 230,
and the standards of the profession as outlined by the AICPA in Statements of Standards for Tax
Services.
Circular 230 covers an extensive list of the requirements, laid out in multiple sections of the Internal
Revenue Code, of being in compliance as a tax preparer and representative before the IRS, from

Summary Of On My Honor
This book is an emotional roller coaster ride. The moment you start to read this book, you can no
longer put it back down. The author of the book On My Honor made opposite characteristics for Tony
and Joel. The opposite characteristics of the two characters really caused the plot to be like an
emotional roller coaster ride. Joel has the characteristics of a cautious, smart, and usually honest boy.
(Bauer, 1) Joel yelled, CLIMB THE STARVED ROCK BLUFF? YOU VE gotta be kidding! Joel s
spine tingled at the mere thought of trying to scale the sheer river bluffs in the state park . On the other
hand, Tony is a self centered, daredevil, and unintelligent boy. (Bauer, 1) Tony just casually says,
Nobody even knows if the guy was really trying to climb the bluffs. Tony just says that as if dying on
the Starved Rock is like eating a piece of cake! In all, the details and characteristics put into the story
allow readers to understand the story a lot better.
In the beginning of the story, the basic situation Joel found himself in was, his childhood friend Tony
asking him to go to the Starved Rocks with. Joel didn t want to look like a coward, so he and Tony
went to his father getting permission for Joel to go to the starved rock with him. As a result, Joel s
father who is normally overprotective of Joel, allowed him to go to Starved Rock. (Bauer, 8), On your
honor? he said. You ll watch for traffic, and you won t go anywhere except the park? You ll be careful

The Importance Of Cultural Imperialism In How To Read...
Cultural imperialism and the popular culture of Disney s influence brainwashing the minds of young
children who read the comics. These comics in third world and war torn countries are a propaganda
targeted at teaching, children the ideals of capitalism and attacking socialists and the proletariat. How
to Read Donald Duck by Ariel Dorfman and Armand Mattelart shatter the glass created by Disney that
try and hide the message of politics, economics, and race behind talking animals. As children these
messages are implanted them without knowing, ideas of who is good and bad, a family dynamic, and
how luxury good items are made without any acknowledgment to the working class. The book s
popularity is in countries like Chile, where Disney comics are so popular and effective at telling the
story American popular culture wants to tell. The book discusses important and common themes
throughout comics from Disney for example the lack of a father or direct family relation, for example,
of siblings or a mother and father using only cousins or uncles to make characters expendable or easily
replaceable. There other factors and themes in these comics, but characters like Donald Duck always
seem to have the most fortunate of luck and have everything work out for them in the end. Other
characters are punished or always put down for example the Beagle Boys for trying to attain the
wealth of rich characters like Scrooge Mcduck and never end up triumphing. According to How to

Abstract
Fifty years ago, the concept of social media, cell phones, and the Internet was just being developed.
Today, these types of technology are being utilized in all aspects of life. About 40% of the world s
population has access to the Internet that is roughly 3.1 million people (Internet Live States). With so
many users able to access the Internet, social media is becoming a popular feature among enterprise
ecommerce project teams. In this paper, we will discuss the characteristics of effective project teams;
the use of virtual teams within electronic commerce projects, and the affects social media has on
electronic commerce project teams. The purpose of this report is to encourage the use of social media
within electronic commerce project teams while maintaining the characteristics of an effective project
team.

Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics Essay
Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics

Author Note
This research is being submitted on June 14, 2010, for Mr. Bergeen s Microeconomics course at
Rasmen College by John Divler.
Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics Southwest Airlines was created in 1967 and is headquartered
in Dallas, TX. Southwest offers flights to their passengers to get them to their destinations when they
want to get there, on time, at the lowest possible fare. The advantage that Southwest has in the
marketplace is their commitment to their customers. The mission of Southwest Airlines is dedication
to the highest quality of customer service delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual
pride, and company spirit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Southwest is reducing flights to try and be more efficient on their fuel consumption. Another issue is
the increase in ticket prices. Southwest Airlines has announced that they will be raising their ticket
prices to offset the high cost of jet fuel. In March of 2012 Southwest raised fares by between $4 and
$10 per round trip, depending on the distance (The Associated Press, 2012). In today s economy, this
may decrease the demand for flying and people may look for more affordable ways to travel or not
travel at all. When looking at the elasticity of demand Southwest is extremely impacted by the
elasticity of demand. Items such as externalities, unemployment, inflation, and monetary, fiscal, and
federal policies affect the elasticity of demand. The elasticity of demand is based solely on current
market conditions, the customer s purpose for travel, and available substitutes. The airline industry is
viewed has being unstable because it is based on current market conditions, and the market is always
changing. If Southwest decided that they needed to increase their revenue they would have to start by
raising the prices of their tickets. The need for increased revenue would need to be passed on to the
consumers . When a ticket price is higher with one airline than the other, the customer

US Military and the War in Afghanistan
Every day someone s child, spouse, sibling or parent makes the courageous decision to join the United
States Army. This is something less than one percent of Americans ever do, this takes a special person
to become a defender of the Constitution. Of those defenders, how many of them have deployed to a
combat zone, most specifically Afghanistan? The United States military has spent over 10 years in
Afghanistan. Soldiers and families are beaten and tired after this decade of combat and losses no one
can even understand. These losses and brokenness is why it is time to withdraw troops from
Afghanistan and bring them home in a steady and slow pattern or increments. Closing out a combat
and war zone takes a lot of planning, preparation, training and cooperation from all Allied forces and
host nations; Afghanistan is no different. A decade of war needs to come to an end and Afghanis need
to take charge of their country and people and stand on their own two feet.
The Afghani people have a proud culture and have been fighting for their land and freedom for
decades. They have fought against the Russians in the 1980s with the help of the Taliban, who happen
to be the force the Coalition forces are fighting against. I went on a convoy with an older Afghani man
and he could point out where all the IEDs were located from the 80s placed by the Russians. It s a
crazy feeling to know that this man was a part of an Army that supported the Taliban and now is
fighting against them. The

Comparing Suspense In The Sniper And Once Upon A Time
Suspense Essay
Aaron Little Holder
The Sniper and Once Upon a time give off different elements of suspense. When you read these two
stories they give off different vibes. In both stories you will see that there are both differences and
similarities.
In the story The Sniper the element of suspense starts with the setting. The story takes place during the
civil war in Ireland. The sniper is isolated and the time of day is twilight. We don t have a lot of
information about what is going on during the story. The story is being told by a third person so the
reader can only see what the person who is telling the story sees and feel. The mood that is set in the
story also adds to the suspense of the story. The images and sounds and the details shared throughout
the story lets the reader know that something bad is going to happen. Finally, the plot of the story
creates suspense. We are not aware of the background of the characters in the story. The narrator does
not share information about the different snipers and what may ... Show more content on

The story begins with the author telling the story from her point of view. She is home alone and the
time of day is night time. The suspense starts when she says that she was aroused by a strange sound.
This creates suspense. The author then starts telling herself a bedtime story. She begins telling the
story like a fairy tale. In all fairy tales there is a moral. This creates suspense. The story is now being
told from a third person s point of view. As the story is being told, the reader can begin to see that the
families fears, suspicions and mistrust are getting out of hand. You can see that the family is doing too
much and that they are about to put themselves in a situation that is not good. The story starts off with
a perfect family in the perfect home, just like a fairy tale starts, however it ends in tragedy. The son

Essay On Summer Vacation
Summer of 2017 was probably my best summer so far. I went to my dream place and somewhere else
I have heard so much about! Before this vacation, I was so excited and I thought this place was going
to be all movie stars and celebrities, but I was wrong. Over the summer I went to Los Angeles,
California and Las Vegas Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in
one trip. On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to
California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty eight minutes to be exact. We had
first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom and I sat next to each other. Once we
landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to get our suitcases and our rental car. Getting our
suitcases took about forty five minutes and getting the car rental took about an hour and a half. Once
we got to our hotel, it was ten o clock p.m. their time, Twelve o clock a.m. our time. We were all
hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn t eat it. So we ordered pizza
and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and saw all the movie stars names on the
stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there,
it was so much fun! We also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood
sign, from afar. We also went to this very nice restaurant, my dad enjoyed a lot. The next few days, we

1. Recommendations for Geographical distance
Geographical distance is a barrier than cannot be erased but its effects can be reduced with a better use
of the communication channels.
One issue that it was causing was that some subunits did not feel like they were receiving as much
information as productions units get. This was due to the fact the priorities were different from
subsidiaries to subsidiaries.
Bobst should for example make a further use of its Intranet since it s a communication channels that
every employees in the group has access to. Thus, subsidiaries would feel less frustrated not to have
access to all the relevant information. Moreover, to prevent teams from feeling neglected, the Intranet
should features more languages.
Additionally, the feeling of isolation of certain subsidiaries in certain decisions could be reduced if
Bobst favored more videoconferences to involve them in the decision making process.

Ethical Principles, Applied To The Use Of Professional Ethics
Professional Ethics
When ethical principles are applied to the use of professional ability to general situations, then
Professional ethics takes its origin. Those who are working in acknowledged professions exercise
specialist knowledge and skill. How the use of this knowledge should be governed when providing a
service to the public can be considered a moral issue and is termed professional ethics. Professionals
are capable of making judgments, applying their skills and reaching informed decisions in situations
that the general public cannot, because they have not received the relevant training. One of the earliest
examples of professional ethics is probably the Hippocratic Oath to which medical doctors still adhere
to this day. Professional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus it is also a form of applied ethics. It applies to all aspects of business conduct and is relevant to
the conduct of individuals and entire organizations. Business ethics has both normative and
descriptive dimensions. As a corporate practice and a career specialization, the field is primarily
normative. Academics attempting to understand business behavior employ descriptive methods. The
range and quantity of business ethical issues reflects the interaction of profit maximizing behavior
with non economic concerns. Interest in business ethics accelerated dramatically during the 1980s and
1990s, both within major corporations and within academia. For example, today most major
corporations promote their commitment to non economic values under headings such as ethics codes
and social responsibility charters. Adam Smith said, People of the same trade seldom meet together,
even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in
some contrivance to raise prices. Governments use laws and regulations to regulate business
behavior.Ethics implicitly regulates areas and details of behavior that lie beyond governmental

Benefits Of A Unified Salary Schedule
There are many advantages and disadvantages to a single, unified salary schedule. These types of
salary schedules only recognize years of service and amount of education to determine salary amounts
for all certified staff. Each salary schedule has strengths and areas of improvement, and analysis of the
salary schedule will highlight these areas. Salary schedules, including Hollister RV School District s,
only require teachers to remain employed thorough the school year to earn a raise in pay for the next
year, automatically moving to the next step on the salary schedule. Pay increases also are earned by
moving to the next lane or column based on the hours of graduate credit completed toward an
advanced degree, such as a Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree. Hollister RV School District s
certified staff s salary schedule discloses several areas of exceptionality, highlighting what is
important to the District. However, there are also areas to be improved, including recruitment and
retention (Hollister RV School District, 2016). One exceptional characteristic of the salary schedule is
that the vertical steps carry the same monetary value as the horizontal columns with the exception of
completing a Master s degree or a Specialist degree. This salary schedule indicates an equal value is
placed on service and completed education. Upon completing a degree, staff salaries increase $960
instead of the $480 earned by simply accumulating additional hours of education.

It is that time of the year again, prom season. Teenagers, mostly girls, prepare for weeks prior to this

people tan to fulfill their need for confidence and beauty. But, everyone seems to avoid thinking about
the consequences. Girls want to be tan to have a higher self esteem, even though studies show that

older, but today, dermatologists see patients in their twenties and even late teens with this type of
cancer. Experts believe this is caused by an increase in radiation from the use of tanning beds. A
sunburn or intense sun exposure may also increase a person s chances of developing this deadly
cancer. Being in the sun is inevitable, but people can still protect their skin from many forms of skin
cancer by doing the simplest things such as applying sunscreen. Staying out of the sun altogether may

Role Of The Nurse Leader Is Financial Management
Introduction
An essential role of the nurse leader is Financial Management, which involves planning,
consolidating, managing and monitoring the monetary activities such as obtaining and application
broad administration values in managing monetary funds of a given department. The nurse manager is
responsible to obtain the financial resources and ensure maximum resource application.
Interrelated parts of the operating budget, capital budget and the cash budget
According to Yoder Wise, (2015), healthcare organizations are service institutions, and the largest part
of their operating budget typically is for personnel. Therefore, staffing and supply management are
areas that are affected in cost management. The knowledge of fixed cost such as rental fee, salaries,
and variable cost such as supplies and medication is essential in the allocation of funds for cost
effective operations. All these aspects of budgets are interrelated with a goal of maintaining cost
effective budget for each unit.
The operational budget is the financial plan or estimated future budget for the day to day activities of
the organization. The nurse manager s role includes preparing and monitoring the operating budget,
mainly the expenditure part of this funds. (Yoder Wise, 2015). Our unit operational budget is about

Published people have been trying to ban and not allow people to read huck finn. Many people believe
that Huck Finn should not be taught in school simply because of the tone and words Twain decided to

Why should Huck Finn be taught in school and why is there so much controversy surrounding a novel.

Bravery In The Vietnam War
Whether on scales large and small, bravery is presented everyday. The disregard of fear has repeated
and will repeat many times in history. An example of this is the Tank Man. This man risked his
welfare to stop a convoy of tanks by merely standing in their way. In the days prior, innocent men and
women were slain in cold blood by the state. The morale of the protesters had fallen vastly due to the
threat of death. As all faith was declining, this man singlehandedly stopped a tank convoy. With this
he resented the heart and spirit of the protesters. Even after 100s slain and 1000s wounded, they
continued to detest the states constant push for taking control. With no hope, one man stood up to just

Essay on Role of Federal Rate in Economics
The Federal Funds Rate is the interest rate that Federal Reserve uses to trade funds with banks.
Changes in this rate can trigger a chain of events that can be beneficial or devastating to the economy.
If a bank is charged a higher interest rate to trade money or take out a loan, then the increase will be
passed on to their customers, causing them to pay higher transaction fees or more interest. Each
month, the Federal Open Market Committee meets to determine the federal funds rate. This in turn
affects other short term interest rates. The determining rate immediately impacts the rates at which
banks borrow money and the interest rates the banks use to charge their customers on loans. If the rate

Cut backs could be that employees take pay cuts, resulting in even less money available for spending.
Cut backs can also be that the number of employees is reduced, causing the remaining workers take on
more of a work load. The employees laid off will increase the number of people drawing
unemployment, and increase the number of job seekers trying to get a reduced number of jobs.
Obviously all of these factors can have some kind of effect on the economy. With cut backs comes a
slowdown in output and production from businesses and can cause inflation to occur where people
make the same or less amount of money but the price of goods goes up. Essentially, interest rates
control the whole economy: if interest rates go up then the economy slows down and vice versa.
However if interest rates go too low or stay low for a long period of time it can lead to inflation which
also hurts the economy. In essence, higher interest rates are not necessarily a bad thing. Higher interest
rates can curb inflation, meaning your pay will go further. A good example of this is the price of
gasoline. When the price of gas goes up people drive less and spend less because more and more of
their income goes toward fuel. When the price of gas goes down people have more money to spend.
The increase in spending will be seen somewhere in the economy whether it is at the grocery store or
online internet sales.

There is a time bomb that is ready to go off, possibly within our lifetime; this device is constructed not
by terrorist but by an ever increasing world population. In an effort to combat its own population
problem, China has promoted policies with the intent of slowing down the growth rate of that nation s
approximately 1.3 billion people. The population policies that are be ing adopted raise fundamental
issues concerning human rights. Does a government have the right to place limits on the size of the

China s official policy concerning the size of the family by its mere existence is a viola tion of basic

family size will go away; more than likely the current policy will be replaced by another of similar

Case Study Of Ethical Dilemmas In Public Hospitals
4. Ethical dilemmas in Public Hospitals in Thailand
Most organizations face ethical dilemmas that are situations in which there is a choice to be made
between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable manner. In
some cases, societal and personal ethical guidelines can provide dissatisfactory outcome for the
chooser. Ethical dilemmas consider that the chooser will abide by societal norms, such as codes of law
or policies given, in order to make the choice ethically impossible.

According to the Thai law, abortions are illegal in Thailand, except for the girls under the age of 15 or

incest. Actually, the abortion law is rarely enforced, and illegal abortions remain common and an
important public health issue for women in Thailand. There is evidence of wide public support led by
women s groups, some medical and legal professionals for reforming of abortion laws to widen the

The Standard American Business Suit Essay
It s happened to all of us. You re standing in front of your closet, staring into the deep abyss of
clothing in front of you. In a frantic search to find a suitable outfit for the day, you shuffle through the
myriad amounts of color options in front of you. Mystical teals, burnt oranges and chocolaty browns
fill your gaze. You just cannot seem to find anything that you would feel comfortable wearing for the
day. In terms of style, color is the cornerstone. Many, however, lack the ability to color coordinate.
The color of what we wear can exude an impact much greater than we could even define. The topic of
the unspoken language of color will allow those who are less fashionable to gain an understanding of
the silent essence their clothing gives off. The unspoken social language of color is one that relays
who we are. It can emit our emotions, our personality and allow us to relive eras of our humanity. The
standard American business suit is an example. Following a basic formula, it involves a grey suit,
white shirt, deep toned tie, and white pocket square with either black shoes. The dark tones are closely
tied with authority and leadership. There are a handful of ways to play around with this, but if you
wish to convey the message that you re there for business, you ll stick to the basic formula. Substitute
the white shirt out for light blue, and suddenly the suit means something completely different. Drop
the white pocket square for a green or orange, and the message

An Investigation Based Research Project
During the course of English 102 this semester, I analyzed, questioned, and made critical connections
between sources by using my research, my sources, interpretation, analysis, and critique. Upon
entering the class, I didn t understand what an inquiry based research essay was, and I didn t see the
distinction between this inquiry based research project and other types of research I have done.
However, through several modifications and suggestions from my classmates, instructor, and the
Writing Center, I now understand what inquiry is, and how to employ it.
Throughout all the papers I ve written it s always just started to write off my head with little to no
information about what the topic was. All thanks to English 102 it opened my eyes on how to create
and demonstrate what I could put down on a paper. The project first started out by asking a question.
Usually, I would stop there and go on with my paper, but for this paper, I dug deeper ask why, which
only created more questions to continue my project. We learn in class how you should take everything
into consideration, for example, my project is about the effects T.V commercials have on children the
things that I was looking for were age, race, gender, and background. When more question is being
asked if opens more information and forced me to determined what gives the meaning to the
information that I found. It also forced me to examine how I was organizing the information on my
website.

they are unfair to the children that don t cause problems and know how to act in public. Children
shouldn t be punished for things others are doing. On the one hand, some argue that curfew laws are
unfair to children that don t cause problems. It s unfair for all children that know how to behave to be
punished for what the children that don t have no home training actions. There should only be
consequences for those that don t know how to act in public, everyone shouldn t have to suffer for the
problems someone else is causing. Supports say teenagers shouldn t have a curfew because teenagers
need to hang out with their friends and at least go out In other words teens shouldn t have curfew
because children need to get out the house, some teens need to go out and kick it with their friends to

Evaluate The Closet Analysis
Evacuate the Closet Our lives are a kaleidoscope of vivid memories and experiences. There are good
memories we relive over and over in our heads; there are brutal ones we wish we could forget. Over
time, these experiences become a part of who we are, whether we like it or not. Therein lies a forked
road. Do we make the most of the situation and move on, or do we dwell on the past and choose a path
of embitterment? For all my life, I have considered myself as a sort of oddity. I didn t speak English
for most of primary school. My customs were different from my American classmates. Being different
became the norm for me; I wasn t really bothered by it. I learned to overcome all the little sarcastic
comments made by the other children in school. For the most part, everything was okay. Everything
was okay until I started my junior year of high school. By the beginning of my junior year, I knew that
I was gay. I had spent enough time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

research, I pulled out passages condemning every day actions as sins; this only seemed to incense her
more. That night, I went to sleep emotionally exhausted. It felt as if my world and family was falling
apart. As time went by, I discovered that I had misinterpreted my mom s anger. The nightly tears she
shed in what she thought was secret, revealed to me that she wasn t angry; she was extremely worried
and frightened. Being a religious woman, she obviously didn t want her son to go to hell. It occurred

Opportunity Reed Reflection
I look forward to the opportunity Reed offers, to share something of value with the community during
Paideia. The Greek word not only means education, as the prompt indicates; it also connotes the
development of the ideal citizen, requiring discipline and emotional health as well as content learning.
The experience I have had that comes closest to this is the work of being in the present moment. Often
called mindfulness, it s a tool for opening oneself up to a deep education of the mind, body and spirit;
along with significant connections to the intellectual pursuits of neuroscience and psychology.
I believe the mindfulness movement sprung from monastic requirements, rather than from academic
psychology or practical medicine, even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While I feel insufficiently trained to teach official MBSR, I would be glad to share not only what I
have learned about it, my passion and curiosity, but also how it can help others.
I see this class as especially pertinent to Reed because of its honor code. The principle of honor
requires that people have both integrity and mutual respect. One must be able to calmly and clearly
evaluate a course of action and a fair minded attitude towards it. For these goals there may be no
better prescription than calm abiding in the present moment.
Cultivating more skillful ways of responding to stress and distress is one of my goals, and another is to
share something I have found so beneficial for my mental health and general well being. The learning,
and its practice involve group activities and connection at their core, key aspects of a comprehensive
college education. Think of all the things college freshmen go through: leaving home for the first time,
interacting with different and new people in a community, test anxiety, regulating sleep/eating in a
new environment. Learning what is most healthy and good could all be experienced more positively

Huckleberry Finn Turning Point Essay
Introduction The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was a novel written by Mark Twain. It was and still
is one of the greatest American novels. It was first published in the United Kingdom during the year
1884, then in the United States in 1885. The story is told in the first person by its main character
Huckleberry Finn.
Huckleberry Finn Fist Appears in Tom Sawyer This novel is a sequel to Tom Sawyer, which is where
Huck is first mentioned. In the novel Tom Sawyer, Huck is the son of the town carouser, Pap Finn,
who also appears in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. In Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn: wears cast off
adult clothes and sleeps in doorways and empty barrels. Despite this, the other children wished they

This is the reason he considered helping Jim to escape as a sin. The moralistic turning point of the
novel is when Huck disputes whether or not he should send Miss Watson, Jim s owner a letter telling
her where Jim was. He decides not to, because his opinion on slavery is changing with every second
he spends with Jim. He tears up the letter and says, All right then, I ll go to hell. ( Guy, C.(2009). The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Ch. 31) Twain never questioned slavery. He lived in a slave state and
his uncle possessed 20 slaves. He stated in his Autobiography:
I vividly remember seeing a dozen black men and women chained to one another, once, and lying in a
group on the pavement, awaiting shipment to the Southern slave market. Those were the saddest faces
I have ever seen.(Cranberg, E. 2010)

father in law, who provided shelter for Fredrick Douglas.

American Society on the Change during the Post World War Years
After World War II, Americans experienced a time of rapid social change. American soldiers were
discharged and returned home from the battlefields, hoping to find work and to get on with their lives.
Marriage rate increased dramatically after the war. North American population experienced what is
known as the Baby boom an 18 year period of rapid population growth from 1946 to 1964. During this
period, many children were born than in the same period before or after. During the post war years, the
United States embarked on one of its greatest periods of economic expansion. Many Americans had
enjoyed economic prosperity. However, the United States has changed since 1950. ... Show more

These includes changes in social levels over time, death rates, economic conditions and laws the no
fault divorce laws, the reduction in fertility and the legalization of abortion increased the divorce rates
in the 1980s. However, scholars believe that the single most important social change which made
divorce possible was the increase in the employment of women and the economic independence that
employment provided. For nearly all decades, the lifetime probability of divorce for women of all ages
has been increasing. For women born in 1920, the likelihood of divorce by age 55 was 27 percent.
This same level of divorce was reached at a much younger age (age 30) for women born in 1950. At
least 40 percent of young adult women are likely to divorce. 16 percent are likely to divorce twice if
current divorce rates continue. In Document 1, in the 1990s and 2000s, divorce rates appear to decline
slightly. In the meantime, suburban population was growing and shifting during the post war years.
Baby boomers brought much prosperity as they grew up and entered the work force. With so many
people working and making a better living, growing families needed more room. Millions of
Americans were leaving the cities for the suburbs. The growth of the suburbs after 1945 was due
mainly to the large number of new homes financed by the G1 Bill which gave them low interest rate
mortgages to purchase new homes. Tax deductions also made the move from urban areas to the
suburbs

Dead Poets Society Reflection
The Dead Poets Society is a tale about a small secrete club established in an all male preparatory
school. In the beginning of the movie the school s newest English teacher arrives, Mr. Keating, a
former student at the school. The students discover his teaching methods are rather untraditional as he
would have his students tear pages out of the textbook to march around the courtyard. One of the main
lessons of Mr. Keating s lecture was the aspect of carpe diem or seize the day. In the beginning of the
movie, several boys find Mr. Keating s yearbook and discover that he was in The Dead Poets Society.
This club was reintroduced by several boys: Neil Perry, Todd Anderson, Charlie Dalton, Knox
Overstreet, Steven Meeks, Richard Cameron, and Gerard Pitts. Once the Dead Poets Society is
established each boy starts on their own ambitious adventure regarding love or their dreams. When
each boy is tested with one of their adventures they think of Mr. Keating s words, carpe diem, and
they peruse their challenge. In the story Todd Anderson struggles with his shyness and the idea that his
thoughts are meaningless. While others such as Knox Overstreet fall in love with a girl who he should
never peruse. Neil Perry, disobeys his father and tries to peruse his dream of becoming an actor
however, when Neil s father condemns the idea of Neil performing in the play. At the end of the
movie, the boys achieve their ambitions. Neil performs in the play however; Neil s father is present

Why High School Basketball Players Should Go To College
What would you do? Spend at least one year in college and go to the NBA, or play overseas in Europe
and Asia, play with seasoned veterans, earn a paycheck then go to the NBA? In the year 2006, the
NBA and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) agreed to a rule that would only allow
players that were at least one year removed from high school and were at least 19 years of age. This
rule caused much controversy among fans, players, and league executives. I believe players should
spend at least one year in college before declaring for the NBA draft.
The first reason a high school basketball prospect should go to college instead of going overseas is
because, they would have to adjust to a totally new culture. ESPN s college basketball ... Show more

Playing well on a good college team in the tournament could increase your draft stock tremendously.
Rather than being a backup on a bad Euroleague team scoring 5 points per game. Take Malachi
Richardson for example. Malachi Richardson, a wing for the Syracuse Orange, his team made the
tournament, but most thought they would not make it very far. Richardson was not considered a first
rounder in the 2016 draft, but after many wins and Richardson leading Syracuse to the Final Four his
draft stock skyrocketed and was seen by some to be a potential lottery pick in the draft (lottery is
within the first 14 picks). He eventually ended up getting picked at No.22 overall by the Charlotte
Hornets. Bottom line is that, going to college can help because then NBA scouts don t have to go to a
different country.
And the third reason is, if you do not think realistically that you will be drafted, you still have your
scholarship and can stay all 4 years and study for a degree. If you are considered a high draft prospect,
then fail to live up to expectations, you can then stay more years in college. You can stay more years
and improve at basketball for next year s draft. Or you can do both, stay all four years declare for the
NBA draft, and get your college degree. This is the best reason to go to college instead of going
overseas, because college is a privilege. Not

  • 2. The Causes Of Family Dynamics Family Dynamics Student s Name Institution Family Dynamics Harmony among family members creates a sense of belonging and a feeling of security that is incomparable to other kinds of associations. However, the emergence of tension and conflict may threaten the prevailing coherence. Conflict is common to all families and siblings can occasionally disagree; still, continuing clashes can damage relationships and create unnecessary strains among relatives. Eventually, if such pressures are not resolved, they would affect family celebrations and make them edgy occasions. Family tensions can be effectively solved through attending family events, although they may cause siblings to boycott such occasions. Siblings who have spent most of their early lives together have common values and perceptions. Consequently, they are expected to live harmoniously together, as they hold common values, ethics, and beliefs. However, a common upbringing and shared values does not always imply coherent relationships. According to de Pontent, Aronoff, Mendoza, and Ward (2012) the order of birth, exposes children to different circumstances depending on their parent s prevailing economic conditions. Firstborns may arrive when the parents are not financial established. Consequently, they may adopt different viewpoints from their siblings born when the parents are more affluent. Moreover, birth order creates sibling rivalry; a cause of tension that may continue into adulthood. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Ethics And Legal Implications Of The Internal Revenue... The complexity of the Internal Revenue Code has been the source of genuine concern, standup jokes, and political theater for years, but its greatest effect on practitioners of tax is to create a myriad of complicated gray areas and thorny questions that are not quickly resolved to a neat yes or no answer. This ambiguity has resulted in a situation where the ethical and legal implications of tax practice are serious considerations for any professional who is engaging in this line of work. Since 1881, U.S.C. 31 has regulated who can represent other people to the Treasury Department, which encompasses the IRS. This representation, called practice before the IRS, includes not just representation in court, but also all forms of communication on behalf of the taxpayer, including written documentation, phone calls, and interviews. From the beginning, the qualities required to practice before the IRS were good character, good reputation, competence and qualifications ( Beyond the Basics. ) Today, those practicing tax or intending to do so need to be aware of a long list of standards and requirements in order to be compliant with both the IRS, as outlined in Circular 230, and the standards of the profession as outlined by the AICPA in Statements of Standards for Tax Services. Circular 230 covers an extensive list of the requirements, laid out in multiple sections of the Internal Revenue Code, of being in compliance as a tax preparer and representative before the IRS, from standard ... • 4. Summary Of On My Honor This book is an emotional roller coaster ride. The moment you start to read this book, you can no longer put it back down. The author of the book On My Honor made opposite characteristics for Tony and Joel. The opposite characteristics of the two characters really caused the plot to be like an emotional roller coaster ride. Joel has the characteristics of a cautious, smart, and usually honest boy. (Bauer, 1) Joel yelled, CLIMB THE STARVED ROCK BLUFF? YOU VE gotta be kidding! Joel s spine tingled at the mere thought of trying to scale the sheer river bluffs in the state park . On the other hand, Tony is a self centered, daredevil, and unintelligent boy. (Bauer, 1) Tony just casually says, Nobody even knows if the guy was really trying to climb the bluffs. Tony just says that as if dying on the Starved Rock is like eating a piece of cake! In all, the details and characteristics put into the story allow readers to understand the story a lot better. In the beginning of the story, the basic situation Joel found himself in was, his childhood friend Tony asking him to go to the Starved Rocks with. Joel didn t want to look like a coward, so he and Tony went to his father getting permission for Joel to go to the starved rock with him. As a result, Joel s father who is normally overprotective of Joel, allowed him to go to Starved Rock. (Bauer, 8), On your honor? he said. You ll watch for traffic, and you won t go anywhere except the park? You ll be careful the whole ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Importance Of Cultural Imperialism In How To Read... Cultural imperialism and the popular culture of Disney s influence brainwashing the minds of young children who read the comics. These comics in third world and war torn countries are a propaganda targeted at teaching, children the ideals of capitalism and attacking socialists and the proletariat. How to Read Donald Duck by Ariel Dorfman and Armand Mattelart shatter the glass created by Disney that try and hide the message of politics, economics, and race behind talking animals. As children these messages are implanted them without knowing, ideas of who is good and bad, a family dynamic, and how luxury good items are made without any acknowledgment to the working class. The book s popularity is in countries like Chile, where Disney comics are so popular and effective at telling the story American popular culture wants to tell. The book discusses important and common themes throughout comics from Disney for example the lack of a father or direct family relation, for example, of siblings or a mother and father using only cousins or uncles to make characters expendable or easily replaceable. There other factors and themes in these comics, but characters like Donald Duck always seem to have the most fortunate of luck and have everything work out for them in the end. Other characters are punished or always put down for example the Beagle Boys for trying to attain the wealth of rich characters like Scrooge Mcduck and never end up triumphing. Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics Essay Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics John Divler Rasmussen College Author Note This research is being submitted on June 14, 2010, for Mr. Bergeen s Microeconomics course at Rasmen College by John Divler. Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics Southwest Airlines was created in 1967 and is headquartered in Dallas, TX. Southwest offers flights to their passengers to get them to their destinations when they want to get there, on time, at the lowest possible fare. The advantage that Southwest has in the marketplace is their commitment to their customers. The mission of Southwest Airlines is dedication to the highest quality of customer service delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and company spirit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Southwest is reducing flights to try and be more efficient on their fuel consumption. Another issue is the increase in ticket prices. Southwest Airlines has announced that they will be raising their ticket prices to offset the high cost of jet fuel. In March of 2012 Southwest raised fares by between $4 and $10 per round trip, depending on the distance (The Associated Press, 2012). In today s economy, this may decrease the demand for flying and people may look for more affordable ways to travel or not travel at all. When looking at the elasticity of demand Southwest is extremely impacted by the elasticity of demand. Items such as externalities, unemployment, inflation, and monetary, fiscal, and federal policies affect the elasticity of demand. The elasticity of demand is based solely on current market conditions, the customer s purpose for travel, and available substitutes. The airline industry is viewed has being unstable because it is based on current market conditions, and the market is always changing. If Southwest decided that they needed to increase their revenue they would have to start by raising the prices of their tickets. The need for increased revenue would need to be passed on to the consumers . When a ticket price is higher with one airline than the other, the customer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. US Military and the War in Afghanistan Every day someone s child, spouse, sibling or parent makes the courageous decision to join the United States Army. This is something less than one percent of Americans ever do, this takes a special person to become a defender of the Constitution. Of those defenders, how many of them have deployed to a combat zone, most specifically Afghanistan? The United States military has spent over 10 years in Afghanistan. Soldiers and families are beaten and tired after this decade of combat and losses no one can even understand. These losses and brokenness is why it is time to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and bring them home in a steady and slow pattern or increments. Closing out a combat and war zone takes a lot of planning, preparation, training and cooperation from all Allied forces and host nations; Afghanistan is no different. A decade of war needs to come to an end and Afghanis need to take charge of their country and people and stand on their own two feet. The Afghani people have a proud culture and have been fighting for their land and freedom for decades. They have fought against the Russians in the 1980s with the help of the Taliban, who happen to be the force the Coalition forces are fighting against. I went on a convoy with an older Afghani man and he could point out where all the IEDs were located from the 80s placed by the Russians. It s a crazy feeling to know that this man was a part of an Army that supported the Taliban and now is fighting against them. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When you read these two stories they give off different vibes. In both stories you will see that there are both differences and similarities. We don t have a lot of information about what is going on during the story. The story is being told by a third person so the reader can only see what the person who is telling the story sees and feel. The mood that is set in the story also adds to the suspense of the story. Before this vacation, I was so excited and I thought this place was going to be all movie stars and celebrities, but I was wrong. Over the summer I went to Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in one trip. On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty eight minutes to be exact. We had first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom and I sat next to each other. Once we landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to get our suitcases and our rental car. Getting our suitcases took about forty five minutes and getting the car rental took about an hour and a half. Once we got to our hotel, it was ten o clock p.m. their time, Twelve o clock a.m. our time. We were all hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn t eat it. So we ordered pizza and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and saw all the movie stars names on the stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there, it was so much fun! We also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood sign, from afar. Ethical Principles, Applied To The Use Of Professional Ethics Professional Ethics When ethical principles are applied to the use of professional ability to general situations, then Professional ethics takes its origin. The range and quantity of business ethical issues reflects the interaction of profit maximizing behavior with non economic concerns. Interest in business ethics accelerated dramatically during the 1980s and 1990s, both within major corporations and within academia. For example, today most major corporations promote their commitment to non economic values under headings such as ethics codes and social responsibility charters. • 15. Benefits Of A Unified Salary Schedule There are many advantages and disadvantages to a single, unified salary schedule. These types of salary schedules only recognize years of service and amount of education to determine salary amounts for all certified staff. Each salary schedule has strengths and areas of improvement, and analysis of the salary schedule will highlight these areas. Salary schedules, including Hollister RV School District s, only require teachers to remain employed thorough the school year to earn a raise in pay for the next year, automatically moving to the next step on the salary schedule. Pay increases also are earned by moving to the next lane or column based on the hours of graduate credit completed toward an advanced degree, such as a Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree. Hollister RV School District s certified staff s salary schedule discloses several areas of exceptionality, highlighting what is important to the District. However, there are also areas to be improved, including recruitment and retention (Hollister RV School District, 2016). • 21. Essay on Role of Federal Rate in Economics The Federal Funds Rate is the interest rate that Federal Reserve uses to trade funds with banks. Changes in this rate can trigger a chain of events that can be beneficial or devastating to the economy. If a bank is charged a higher interest rate to trade money or take out a loan, then the increase will be passed on to their customers, causing them to pay higher transaction fees or more interest. Each month, the Federal Open Market Committee meets to determine the federal funds rate. This in turn affects other short term interest rates. The determining rate immediately impacts the rates at which banks borrow money and the interest rates the banks use to charge their customers on loans. Cut backs can also be that the number of employees is reduced, causing the remaining workers take on more of a work load. The employees laid off will increase the number of people drawing unemployment, and increase the number of job seekers trying to get a reduced number of jobs. Obviously all of these factors can have some kind of effect on the economy. With cut backs comes a slowdown in output and production from businesses and can cause inflation to occur where people make the same or less amount of money but the price of goods goes up. Essentially, interest rates control the whole economy: if interest rates go up then the economy slows down and vice versa. However if interest rates go too low or stay low for a long period of time it can lead to inflation which also hurts the economy. In essence, higher interest rates are not necessarily a bad thing. Higher interest rates can curb inflation, meaning your pay will go further. A good example of this is the price of gasoline. When the price of gas goes up people drive less and spend less because more and more of their income goes toward fuel. When the price of gas goes down people have more money to spend. The increase in spending will be seen somewhere in the economy whether it is at the grocery store or online internet sales. Short term investments are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This rule caused much controversy among fans, players, and league executives. I believe players should spend at least one year in college before declaring for the NBA draft. If you are considered a high draft prospect, then fail to live up to expectations, you can then stay more years in college. You can stay more years and improve at basketball for next year s draft.
