Reasons Of King Henry V Of France
In William Shakespeare s Henry V, King Henry V of England sets out to retake his rightful position of
king of France. Everyone agrees that Henry has a claim to the French throne, some say he should have
invaded France and others say he should not. Henry should not have invaded France for three reasons:
He does not have a legitimate claim, it could endanger Britain, and its selfish. Firstly, Henry should
not have invaded France is that he does not have a legitimate claim to the throne. Henry claims that he
is the rightful king of France because of a complicated family tree. He claims that because his great
grandfather, Edward III s, mother was Isabella the daughter of French king Philip IV, that he is the
rightful king of France. The French ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Henry s invasion carries one major risk, limited men. He only has so many men he can use for his
army. By using a large force he may not be able to defend his gains or even England itself, should
France launch a counter attack campaign. This risk would mean that not only would he lose all his
gains but he would lose his entire kingdom! This is not worth the huge risk to attack France. In Act 1
Sc. 2 lines 142 145, Henry worries about another threat to England during the invasion, the Scotts, We
must not only arm t invade the French, But lay down our proportions to defend Against the Scot, who
will make road upon us With all advantages Henry has a legitimate fear that the rebellious Scots will
take advantage of him and his army s absence to make themselves independent, and taking the
northern half of Britain with them. This fear is genuine but is put to rest again by the Archbishop of
Canterbury, who assures Henry that the Scots will have neither the will nor the manpower to mount a
serious revolt. Henry also is concerned that if he loses a fight with France over something he
seemingly has the right to, the British people might lose faith in him and begin looking to another
leader. This concern is grounded in Henry s fear of losing and that if he does his position as King will

Enhancing Game Theory Strategies And Techniques
Introduction Research Aim To exploit game theory strategies and techniques in order to apply them to
the AEC industry by creating a framework for dealing with the key players. Research Objectives
Identify the challenges of design and build contracts and seek solutions through game theory
strategies. Identify the players (competitors, complementors, suppliers, custromers) for non
cooperatives and cooperative games. Quantify the role of trust, cooperation (through alliancing and
partnering), and technology (i.e. BIM) in improving the decision making process Investigate the
feasibility of implementing the Value Net for Design and Build contractors and sub
contractor/suppliers through recognizing the role of PARTS model (Players, Added values, Rules,
Tactics, and Scope) 1.Introduction The construction industry is a dominant sector around the globe. It
is a key sector that plays a significant role within any country s economy, culture and social
development. There are many contradictions in defining the construction industry (Barrie and Paulson,
1992). One of the clearest definitions was by the National Construction Council (NCC), which defined
it as a sector of the economy that transforms various resources into constructed physical economic and
social infrastructure necessary for socio economic development. It embraces the process by which the
said physical infrastructure and planned, designed, procured, constructed or produced, altered,

Sociological Speculation through Theory
A) Socialist feminism argues that both men and women may also believe that economic and emotional
dependence go hand in hand. Fearful of the loss of economic security, a husband s power over his wife
is absolute. An example of this characteristic from the socialist branch can be seen in my own personal
life. When I was growing up, I experienced how my father would completely disregard my mother and
her duties serving the household and the family, as she was a stay at home mom and my father worked
and got paid for his labor. Her domestic work was trivialized as my father felt that he was doing real
work. Because of this, my mother was quite submissive towards my father s behavior because she felt
that she needed him for financial security and that she could not be capable of anything without him.
B) Liberal feminists believe society does not have to be completely restructured to achieve
empowerment for women and to incorporate women into meaningful and equitable roles. An example
of this characteristic from the liberal branch is seen in the political system in the United States. It is
harder for women to advance in politics due to the fact that it is a realm that has been dominated by
men for a long period of time. In today s day and age, we see more female politicians coming to the
forefront, and are dissolving the notion that politics only involves men by showing that they too are
knowledgeable and interested in the political processes. This demonstrates liberal

Cognitive Enhancement, Cheating, and Accomplishment
ABSTRACT. An ethics of enhancement should not rest on blanket judgments; it should ask us to
distinguish between the kinds of activities we want to enhance. Both students and academics have
turned to cognition enhancing drugs in significant numbers but is their enhancement a form of
cheating? The answer should hinge on whether the activity subject to enhancement is zero sum or non
zero sum, and whether one is more concerned with excellence in process or excellence in outcome.
Cognitive enhancement should be especially tolerated when the activities at stake are non zero sum
and when the importance of process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I argue that the use of CEDs is especially beneficial, and should be especially tolerated, when the
activities at stake are non zero sum and when the importance of process is outweighed by the
importance of outcome. Finally, I criticize the claim that CEDs unnaturally cheapen human
accomplishments; instead, I consider their use to be in line with well established conceptions of
collaborative authorship, which shift the locus of praise and blame from individual creators to the
ultimate products of their efforts.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE OF COgNITION ENHANCINg DRUgS
Among the most common CEDs are modafinil, methylphenidate, and dextroamphetamine, which are

ranging from narcolepsy to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, their off label use has been
reported to increase users recall, attention span, and ability to focus on cognitive tasks; in addition,
modafinil has been shown to increase wakefulness (Butcher 2003; greely et al. 2008). Some CEDs
also seem to enhance users executive function, or problem solving ability (Mehlman 2004, p. 484).

The Roles Of Male And Women In The Victorian Era
In today s era both males and females being seen as equals is a widely accepted belief; however, in the
Victorian era this thought would be laugh at. In fact, men were viewed far more superior to women.
Where as, the men were put on a pedestal the women seemed to have little to no use. Although,
women only had a few tasks to accomplish in life, what she was tasked with was highly expected of
her. These were things such as do not be a burden, act as expected, marry well, and have a son.
In the beginning, of a girls life if she had hope to live the average life span she would have to beat the
unruly high death rates for females. Despite the fact that all children, in any social classes, were a
mouth to be fed, they were still a potential source to help the family prosper. This however, did not
stop parents from malnourishing their daughters so their sons may live or giving far less access to
many essentials, such as clean bathing water. This lead to the daughters also being prone to infections.
If that or other accidents did not kill the girls; however, some time the families would result to outright
killing their own daughters. On the other hand if the girls lived through their early years they would be
groomed for something specific in life. It was more often than not up to their parents to decide what

The And Other By Ursula K. Le Guin
Here are the two cardinal truths of life: Boys aren t allowed to like the color pink and girls should
forget about a career of their own and instead strive to act as arm candy to their more accomplished
significant others. It s hard to imagine that these values are considered controversial to some but both
Ursula K. Le Guin, the celebrated science fiction author who penned works such as The Left Hand of
Darkness (1969), and Paul Theroux, an American travel writer best known for The Great Railway
Bazaar (1975), argue that they are socially harmful and socially regressive in nature. Both novelists
implicitly trace the root of the problem to the idea of The Other, a group viewed as different from one

In the end Le Guin s audience is gifted with a succinct, convincing paper as she successfully manages
to present a strong argument whereas by the end of his paper all Theroux proves to be successful at is
alienating himself. The approach both Theroux and Le Guin took to formatting their arguments helped
solidify their ideas, which easily coexist and even work to support each other. Theroux begins his
paper by defining what it means to be a man stating, It means: Be stupid, be unfeeling, obedient,
soldierly and stop thinking. (2) His intent, in this passage, is to express just how socially harmful
society s definition of manhood can be and he goes on to provide examples of the effects this thinking
has on both genders. He believes it contributes to the widening of the gap between the genders and
encourages them to think of members of the opposite sex as The Other . To be this kind of man means
to insist on a divide between the genders, depriving men of natural, healthy emotions and, although
perhaps unconsciously, promoting the idea of male superiority. He insists that to be a man in

Traditional Ethical Treatment Of Employees
The focus of modern economics has placed an increased emphasis on how companies treat employees.
This emphasis has been especially notable in the Omaha metropolitan area as firms have taken to
utilizing reduction in force procedures in effort to reduce operating costs thereby increasing profits.
While reduction in force proceedings have a grave effect on local economies, there are other situations
where employee terminations are contemplated as means of discipline for noncompliant workers.
What is truly unfortunate is that employee termination is often an early consideration for both
economic hardships and employee disciplinary actions when other alternatives may be available. This
commentary is often driven by the stockholder theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While these religions have differing faith based beliefs, all respect the need of human dignity which is
achieved, in part, through human work. To understand how each faith approaches the ethical treatment
of employees, there must first be an understanding of the secular approach to this topic.
SECULAR APPROACH TO EMPLOYEE TREATMENT AND ETHICS
The traditional approach to the ethical treatment of employees, including employee terminations, is
often considered from nonreligious viewpoints due to the wide array of opinions which may result
from considering faith. There are two primary sources of information when determining the ethical
ramifications of decisions impacting employees. The first is laws and regulations stemming from the
federal, state and other local governments. The second is the theories of firm management, which
includes stockholder theory and stakeholder theory. An examination of these sources is important as
each provides a baseline for determining whether a decision impacting employees is first legal and
second ethical. While it is important to note that not all laws and regulations may be deemed ethical,
the laws governing employment have been developed through careful consideration and evaluation in
an effort to mitigate any unethical nature present in their existence.

Comparing The Prague Spring And The Polish Solidarity...
Movements like the Prague Spring and the Polish Solidarity movement were rooted in frustration over
economic and social conditions in nations in the socialist bloc. The Prague Spring was ignited by
reforms made by new party chief and President Alexander Dubček. Dubček s reforms were intended
to address the disconnect between Soviet policy and Czechoslovakian life and to create new policies
to build socialism in a Czechoslovakian context. In his Action Program , Dubček s central concern
appears to be with the lack of liberties in society, especially in regards to freedom of expression. He
wanted to introduce complete freedom of speech and the free expression of political opinions and
ensure that they were constitutional guarantees and protected against influence from state agencies.

The Solidarity movement also addressed something they called dignity of the person of man and it
related to how current social conditions and actions of the government prevented an individual from
leading a dignified life. While the government could barely meet the basic needs of food, clothing, and
housing at a bare minimum, there were social and cultural needs that were completely ignored and
prevented the public from establishing an identity outside of the state and state ideology. The
Solidarity movement aimed to expand the participation of the working class through total democracy.
The members of the Solidarity movement wanted to eliminate what had become a feature of socialist
society, lack of fulfillment of constitutional guarantees and ensure the protection of civil liberties. An
important feature of the Solidarity movement was a desire for an economic overhaul with a return to a
market based system and freedom for the restrictions of state

The Client Of A Mental Health Facility
The Client s Right To Die
A client that has expressed he has been suffering from severe bipolar disorder and his quality of life is
so compromised by his illness that he logically and rationally chooses suicide, should be involuntary
admitted to a mental health facility. As a counselor for the client it is ethically necessary to try to
minimize harm where it is foreseeable and unavoidable (3.04, American Psychological Association,
2002). Subsequently, petitioning to have the client admitted to a mental health facility will serve as a
means of trying to minimize harm to the client. According to Illinois law the client is a candidate for
involuntary admission to a mental health facility because due to his illness he is reasonably expected
to engage in dangerous conduct which places him in harm (405 ILCS 5/1 119). According to Illinois
law, as a counselor of at least 18 years of age for the client and who has direct knowledge of the client
s desire to harm himself, I would present a petition for admittance to a mental facility to the facility
director (405 ILCS 5/3 601). The petition would include the descriptions of client s symptoms of bi
polar disorder such as his reports of terrifying and tormenting episodes of depressive psychosis as well
as his feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Most important, the petition would also include his
announcement that he has decided to commit suicide, rather than fight his recurrent mental illness. In

While the majority of tea is sold through retail outlets, foodservice volume sales increased at a faster
rate in 2009, 7%, than retail volume sales, 5%. Small independent restaurants, which are present
throughout the country, particularly in rural areas, are the key sellers of foodservice tea.
Small independent restaurants that sell inexpensive food also sell loose tea. These restaurants are
widespread throughout Pakistan and are found in both rural and urban areas. Restaurants that target
middle and upper income groups generally sell packaged/branded tea. Lipton and Tapal are the key
brands which are used by foodservice channels. In addition to retail sales through restaurants, almost
all small and large grocery stores carry packaged tea as one of their main products. There are,
however, speciality tea shops in key areas that sell a large variety of loose tea.
The price of tea per kg increased by 43% to PKR408 in 2009. Black standard tea bags suffered the

The Death Of A Fetus
Women are faced with a myriad of choices on a daily basis. Whether they are superficial, like how she
dresses or where she goes out to dinner, and others can be more life altering, like career she pursues
and the relationships she chooses to have. One choice that women should be able to make for herself
is what she chooses to do with her reproductive organs. A woman should be able to choose for herself
whether or not she will have an abortion, yet there are so many other people who think they know
better, whether that be government or the overly vocal Pro Life protestors sticking their nose in
someone else s privates.
Abortion, by definition, is the intended termination of a pregnancy that results in the death of a fetus
or embryo. This deliberate medical procedure can be done in two distinctive ways, mainly hinging on
how long the woman has been pregnant. A medical abortion is one that is done through prescription
medications while being closely monitored by a medical professional. According to Planned
Parenthood, Medical abortion, or the abortion pill, can occur up to 9 weeks into a pregnancy, and is
performed over a two to three day period. A woman would be given a hormone blocker called
Mifepristone in order to block progesterone, a hormone that vital for pregnancy during the first
trimester. A day or so after that, a woman would be given the drug Misoprostol, which is used to shut
down the uterus to stop the pregnancy, which results in the woman bleeding heavily and

How Did Hitler Become A Dictator
Who was Adolf Hitler before he became a dictator? What drove him to become the way he did?
Before Adolf Hitler became a dictator and murder, he had another life. He had friends and family that
cared about him. Now what do they think of him after he has done those terrible things to those
people.
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, an Easter Saturday evening. Adolf was the fourth child born
to Alois and Klara Hitler. On his birth certificate it says Adolfus, but he was referred to as Adolf. His
father Alois Hitler ruled over his family like a tyrant, often lashing out in drunken rages at his childern

Health Promotion on Hepatitis Virus
My health promotion or prevention will take place in a college seminar at community college; I chose
this group of people because I realized many colleges make medical records mandatory for only
students in the health related courses and also freshmen living on campuses. I asked myself, what
about those other students who are doing other courses or major who may also be at risk. The main
purpose for viral hepatitis teaching is to inform the students of the importance or benefits from
vaccines to prevent hepatitis virus. This will take place in the school auditorium to get access to
internet and projector to present the information.
After this teaching, students will be able to learn the following:
The types of viral hepatitis
Causes of the types of hepatitis
Ways of preventing viral hepatitis
The leading cause of liver damage due to viral hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus represents a
major health problem in the United States. CDC estimates that approximately 3.2 million of
Americans are chronically infected with hepatitis C virus, with an estimate of 8,000 to 10,000
hepatitis C virus related deaths annually (CDC foundation).
Hepatitis can be defined as liver inflammation caused by viral infection or toxins like drugs or alcohol

Corporate and Collaborate Consumerism
Prada, Mercedes, Target, are all widely spread brands in the common English vernacular. How many
brands of soap does the average citizen know but cannot list the 44 Presidents of the United States.
Quickly think of the 5 best luxury cars on the market. How about the top 3 highest paid athletes in the

Maybe if corporate or collaborative consumerism was trying to invest in the future, average citizens
could answer the last important question. Instead, corporate and collaborative consumerism is the
latest tool to help ruin modern society with lack of original thought, manipulation, and damaging the
environment. A young women walks into Ikea as she has been saying she needs a new bed for quite

The Argument Of Creation Vs. Evolution
The argument of Creation vs. Evolution has been debated for quite sometime. Since Darwin s theory
of Evolution by Natural Selection was published, some of those that thought the world and its
inhabitants was made by a creator now began to think differently. Evolution began to make sense,
there was evidence of certain types of species evolving (as in the finches in the galapogos islands as
observed by Darwin) however, with creationism there was no evidence, it was all based on faith.
Although Darwin s theory stands at the forefront for the belief in Evolution especially for those that
tend to lean towards this side of the argument, there have been and still is many who support the
argument of Design or what is referred to as the teleological argument. Philosophers such as St.
Thomas Aquinas and William Paley wrote about the belief in there being a creator in their famous

a lowlife reporter like me to do their dirty work. They gave me a house to use as a base of operations

When Jackie was about to leave the doorbell rang. I opened the door and Ted Williams was there. He

Compare And Contrast The Theory Of Planned Behavior
Across both the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and its descendant the Theory of Planned
Behavior, people are portrayed to behave in ways that they intended to (thus said to have planned
doing as such), with their intentions dependent on how favorably they view the behavior based on
what outcomes it would bring (attitudes), how people they consult with would act in the same
situation (norms), and how much they believe in their ability to act (behavioral control). The causal
path is then clear: People possess beliefs about their actions and act on their intentions if they find that
acting out their beliefs would be worth it (both because it would bring desired outcomes, and because
they intend to do so).
Taking into hindsight the theories we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While other cognition and motivation based theories have fallen short due to their discounting of the
limits of human cognitive processing, TPB is able to withstand this by invoking implicit attitudes and
intentions and clarifying the subjective nature of beliefs. That is, the theory recognizes that we do not
go through the laborious process of checking our beliefs and intentions each time we engage in
behavior. By encountering the regularity of routine in our daily lives, our intentions become implicit
and ingrained in our life schedules that the cognitive process of inferring what we wish to do becomes
automatic. In the same way, we arrive at our beliefs based on what information is readily available to
us as organized through what processes are most efficient or salient at a given time. Our intentions are
then sometimes informed by irrational and unrealistic states of thinking. Working within the same
framework as other theories, TPB comes somehow on top through its recognition of the biased and
miserly nature of human cognition: It does not weaken in the pitfalls of optimistically assuming an
objective rational agent, and instead recognizing a person who may heuristically process information
that lead to subjectively irrational beliefs that inform behavior nevertheless. In addition, it incorporates
the well established notion of

Operation Sovereign Borders Essay
Operation Sovereign Borders
The detention of asylum seekers on offshore islands has becomes central to Australia s border security
program (Dickson, 2015). The offshore detention, processing and resettlement regime branded the
Pacific Solution was terminated in 2008; it was reconfigured and resurrected in 2013 (Larkin, 2017).
Manus Island and Nauru were closed in 2008 by the Australian Labour government, bringing an end
to the Pacific Solution, the centres were once again used in 2012 to house asylum seekers by the same
government that ended the practice years before (Dickson, 2015). The next year, in 2013, the

The Coalition government declared that there was a national emergency on Australia s borders, in turn
demanding a direct response to this issue through a disciplined, focused and targeted military
operation (Dickson, 2015). Thus, Operation Sovereign Borders emerged with its primary objective
being to stop the boats (Dickson. 2015). This new policy involved the military interception of
unauthorized maritime arrivals, thus sending the individuals found on the boats directly to Manus
Island and Nauru (Fraenkel, 2016). From the inauguration of this revamped policy, no matter where an
asylum seeker arrived from by boat, they were subject to transfer to either Manus Island or Nauru
(Grewcock, 2014). The purpose of this policy was to ensure the removal of all boat arrivals attempting
to breach Australia and in turn any possibility of resettlement for the asylum seekers in the nation
(Grewcock, 2014). Thus, those accepted as genuine refugees would be permanently resettled in either
Papua New Guinea, or Nauru, although the government of Nauru held that it would not be granting

Squat Exercise
Knees buckling into the valgus position When performing the back squat, some clients tend to let their
knees collapse and position into a valgus or knock knee position as seen in Figures 8, 9 and 10. The
positioning of the knees is dramatically different in these figures as compared to Figure 18. This may
occur during the squat for three reasons: the client s quadriceps femoris musculature may be too weak,
a weakness in posterior chain muscles of the hip extensors and hamstrings or the client lacks the
dorsiflexion in their ankle to perform the squat with the proper depth necessary to achieve maximal
benefit. If there is a weakness in the musculature or a lack of range of motion in the ankle joint, the

Also, during the squat, the patella has its greatest compression force on the femur at 90˚. As a result, if
the patella is shifted laterally and there is a higher compressive force on a smaller surface area, there
will be an increase in patellofemoral irritation and shear. In addition to the patellofemoral pain,
increasing the valgus stress in load bearing predisposes the MCL to increased stress and injury. The
MCL accounts for 80% of the valgus restraint on the knee.34 With the addition of weight due to the
squat, this then places extra stress on the MCL and over time, could cause ligament laxity or for the
ligament to tear if the stress is too great. This tends to happen during the ascent phase, where there is a
valgus collapse, increased the stress placed on the MCL. The valgus moment also places increased
stress on the ACL during both the initial ascent and during the full return.1 One way to prevent some
of the valgus collapse and medial rotation of the femur

Analysis Of The Play A Funny Thing Happen On The World
The play A Funny Thing Happen On the Way to the Forum took place in the streets of ancient Rome,
in front of three houses. The play took place during the first century A.D. during the early years of the
Roman Empire. First house belongs to the house of Marcus Lycus, a buyer and seller of beautiful
women. Next is the house of Senex, a Roman senator, his wife Domina, their son Hero, and his slave,

Big Island Volcanoes
During the Big Island trip, I learned the predictiction of volcanic eruptions, the study of volcanoes,
and the effects of a volcanic eruption. To start off, the Big Island is known for its active volcanoes,
meaning it constantly erupts and spews lava. Geologists actually has a way to forecast the eruption of
the volcanoes. Seismometers can be used to pinpoint earthquakes which track the rise of magma and
its movement along fissures. (volcanoworld) This means that geologists uses seismometers in
predicting volcanic eruptions so they can warn people about it. In conclusion, geologists can predict a
volcanic eruption using multiple instrument, seismometer being one of them. Furthermore, I ve also
learned the study of volcanoes which is called vulcanology. The people who studies volcanoes are
called vulcanologist, and they are also the ones who knows how to use complicated instruments only
used for vulcanology such as a retroreflector, which is an instrument that reflects light back to its
source, and a geodimeter, which is an instrument to measure the distance between two points of laser

Duty Of Care And Diligence
|Duty of Care and diligence |
Concepts and standards of duty of care and diligence have changed significantly in contemporary
society and these are regulated in the general law and corporate legislation with slightly difference
(Ramsay, 1997). Legislation focuses on the appropriateness of the practice of directors, while general
law concentrates on the foreseeability of the consequent damage. As per s 180 (1) of Corporations Act
2001 (Cth) defines, directors or other officers must exercise their rights and undertake their
responsibilities with a duty of care and diligence, otherwise, they are negligent of duty. It is hardly
feasible to create a uniform standard of care because directors in different companies are various.
Daniels v Anderson (1995) 37 NSWLR 438 is an important case in understanding the care standards.
|Duty not to trade while insolvent|
In s 588G of Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), directors have the responsibility to cease any trading that
could incur debts when the company is in bankruptcy protection or is likely to be insolvent. This rule
is set to protect the benefits of creditors (Jiang, 2015). Besides, liquidator or individual creditors can
also sue the directors for the breach of this duty. S 588G is only applicable at the time of the
insolvency of company and a debt has been incurred. Officers or employees are not affected by this
section.

Poem Analysis, To A Daughter Leaving Home
As there were many poems to choose, this poem analysis is To a Daughter Leaving Home by Linda
Pastan. Linda Pastan s poems usually talks about families and the relationship between family
members. This poem talks from the mom perspective, who remembers many memory of teaching her
daughter how to ride a bicycle. From reading the whole poem, it seems to talk about how a mother
saw her daughter grew up. The poet used good amount of metaphor using bicycle as a path of life.
Analysis will start now with lines from the poem and explaining the meaning behind it. The mother
starts with, When I taught you at eight to ride a bicycle, meaning her mom started to teach her about
life at eight. Loping along beside your as your wobbled away on two round wheels. She has helped
her by staying by her daughter side and helping her through the problems.
My own mouth rounding in surprise when you pulled ahead down the curved path of the park. The
meaning behind this is her mom was surprised when she got through the path fine on her own. This
can have meaning such as the daughter fixed her own problem without the mother s support. I kept
waiting for the thud of your crash as I sprinted to catch up, while you grew smaller. Her mother hoped
she would need her help in disaster, but the daughter moves ahead on her own. This emphasizes that
her daughter is moving forward in life meaning

Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema Essay
Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema
Feature films in the United States influence American viewers attitudes on a wide variety of topics.
Americans attitudes toward politics are shaped by films, and specifically the politics of racial
interaction. The history of modern feature films begins with Birth of a Nation (1915), a film that
misrepresents the Black race by justifying the existence and role of the Ku Klux Klan in American
society. From this racist precedent, producers and directors understood that visual messages, however
latent, were a useful means of communicating a political message to a large audience. After this
epiphany, a myriad of films were made for different political causes. Most films had multiple
messages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stam states that this discourse is beside the point because it is impossible to make a realistic film. The
fact that film watching is an escapist endeavor cannot be denied, but the problem lies in the fact that
modern Western society has to see it to believe it, and subsequently viewers associate films with a
sense of the real. Stam is right in saying that a realistic film cannot be made, but he ignores the fact
that the stereotypes he dismisses had very real political messages in the Welles era. The presence of
these racial and political messages in films cannot be denied because to a large extent they account for
the racist attitudes against Latinos that persist today in White mainstream America.
Later in film s history, the Chicano resistance movement sought to change the overall racist views
that, by the 1970 s had been embedded in the American psyche. The conservative stereotypes of
violent, sex crazed Latinos had a negative impact on the race s treatment, so Luis Valdez and his
cohorts presented a liberal brand of politics to counter this racism, using films that embraced the true
Chicano cultural identity.
The history of film is essentially one of representation of certain groups, or as the case may be,
misrepresentation. After America s short stint with Nickelodeon type movie theatres, full length
feature films became the norm with Birth of a Nation (1915). D.W. Griffith used the film to innovate
cinematography, but made few compromises to create a

The Gay Liberation Movement Of Manhattan, New York City
On June 28, 1969, the Gay Liberation Movement was sparked due to the Stonewall Riot in Manhattan,
New York City, (History.com Staff). The Stonewall was a gay club located in New York City. It was
often regulated and harassed by police officers but one day the LGBT decided to stand up for
themselves and fight back. Although the police were legally justified in raiding the club, which was
serving liquor without a license among other violations, New York s gay community had grown weary
of the police department targeting gay clubs, a majority of which had already been closed. The crowd
on the street watched quietly as Stonewall s employees were arrested, but when three drag queens and
a lesbian were forced into the paddy wagon, the crowd began throwing bottles at the police. The
officers were forced to take shelter inside the establishment, and two policemen were slightly injured
before reinforcements arrived to disperse the mob. The protest, however, spilled over into the
neighboring streets, and order was not restored until the deployment of New York s riot police. The
raid on the Stonewall Inn lead to many riots and created an uproar from the LGBT community,
(Teal). The Stonewall Riot was followed by several days of demonstrations in New York and was the
impetus for the formation of the Gay Liberation Front as well as other gay, lesbian, and bisexual civil

The cross sectional study designs
My research is concerned about errors in Thai English translation and I want to know what are the
mistakes could be found in the translation. Therefore, I aim to ask the people who involved in my
population to do a test. Then I will analyze what are the mistakes in the translation from the test. From
the process I ve mentioned above, I believe that cross sectional design is the most appropriate design
of my research.
According to the number of contacts, I need only one time in order to contact the population of the
research because the objective I ve set doesn t need to find out about the difference or change between
before and after. Furthermore, my research doesn t need to do the comparison. Consequently, ... Show

The Importance Of STEM Education
The importance of transforming STEM teacher s professional development (PD) for the middle school
is central to the standard based transformation of STEM education and knowledge based competition
of the global economy. Because the knowledge based competition of the 21st century economy
depends on the competitiveness of STEM education, improvement of STEM education is a national
call. In addition, the needs for improvements in K 12 science education align with the needs for
improvement in science teacher s PD. STEM jobs require higher creativity and innovation, thus
STEM teachers and educational leaders are expected to encourage creativity and innovation in student
learning regardless of barriers. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to overcome all barriers in order to
foster active learning by students (Michael, 2007). In general, STEM education requires teacher s
creativity and flexibility. This urges rethinking of the education leaders and researchers about
identifying effective professional development for STEM teachers.
STEM teacher s professional development is becoming much more important than ever for mainly
three reasons. First, according to recent U.S. Bureau of labor statics, STEM jobs are growing faster
than any other U.S. sector estimated increase by 17% by 2024. Giant technology companies alone
need to fill more than 650,000 new jobs by 2018. Nevertheless, U.S. lags by STEM workforce.
Students academic achievement in STEM fields still lags that of their peers

Determinism And Free Will
Determinists believe that everything that occurs in the world follows both from the laws of nature and
also the prior state of the universe. As a result, they further believe that our actions are predetermined.
Many philosophers believe this it offers a simple justification as to why people commit such actions
and, even more broad, why history precedes in the way that it does.
As an incompatibilist, I believe that determinism rules out the possibility of human freedom.
Determinism relies on a cause and effect relationship between the current state and the past. it uses
empirical notions that past action, or experience, combines with natural law to basically set out our
actions. I cannot see how a philosophy that suggests this cause and effect ... Show more content on

Peter van Inwagen, a proponent of libertarianism, argues in his piece Freedom of the Will that freedom
and a society dictated. Libertarians often rationalize that one must believe that humans have free will
so that we as a society are able to hold people accountable for their actions. Yet, as a hard determinist,
I would say that yes we do exist in a cause and effect world in which actions are predetermined; yet,
we are the means of those actions. van Inwagen also rejects determinism because he believes in the
possibility of one having multiple futures which determinism does not allow for. Most importantly, he
rejects determinism s central idea, the causality relationship, in favor of a world in which humans can
choose their own paths. This idea of choice is not sound as actions that one has no control over before
birth indirectly influence their decision making, rationalizing, and so forth. For instance, people born
into households with lower incomes tend to go to lower performing schools. These lower performing
schools impact their ideas about society, their role in society, and in a broader view, the world. The
choices they make were already decided before they were even born from the socioeconomic
conditions and genetic history since the beginning of time that had preceded the birth. Unknowingly,
the person makes choices, which are not really their own, based off of

  • 2. Reasons Of King Henry V Of France In William Shakespeare s Henry V, King Henry V of England sets out to retake his rightful position of king of France. Everyone agrees that Henry has a claim to the French throne, some say he should have invaded France and others say he should not. Henry should not have invaded France for three reasons: He does not have a legitimate claim, it could endanger Britain, and its selfish. Firstly, Henry should not have invaded France is that he does not have a legitimate claim to the throne. Henry claims that he is the rightful king of France because of a complicated family tree. He claims that because his great grandfather, Edward III s, mother was Isabella the daughter of French king Philip IV, that he is the rightful king of France. The French ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Henry s invasion carries one major risk, limited men. He only has so many men he can use for his army. By using a large force he may not be able to defend his gains or even England itself, should France launch a counter attack campaign. This risk would mean that not only would he lose all his gains but he would lose his entire kingdom! This is not worth the huge risk to attack France. In Act 1 Sc. 2 lines 142 145, Henry worries about another threat to England during the invasion, the Scotts, We must not only arm t invade the French, But lay down our proportions to defend Against the Scot, who will make road upon us With all advantages Henry has a legitimate fear that the rebellious Scots will take advantage of him and his army s absence to make themselves independent, and taking the northern half of Britain with them. This fear is genuine but is put to rest again by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who assures Henry that the Scots will have neither the will nor the manpower to mount a serious revolt. Henry also is concerned that if he loses a fight with France over something he seemingly has the right to, the British people might lose faith in him and begin looking to another leader. This concern is grounded in Henry s fear of losing and that if he does his position as King will be at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Enhancing Game Theory Strategies And Techniques Introduction Research Aim To exploit game theory strategies and techniques in order to apply them to the AEC industry by creating a framework for dealing with the key players. Research Objectives Identify the challenges of design and build contracts and seek solutions through game theory strategies. Identify the players (competitors, complementors, suppliers, custromers) for non cooperatives and cooperative games. Quantify the role of trust, cooperation (through alliancing and partnering), and technology (i.e. BIM) in improving the decision making process Investigate the feasibility of implementing the Value Net for Design and Build contractors and sub contractor/suppliers through recognizing the role of PARTS model (Players, Added values, Rules, Tactics, and Scope) 1.Introduction The construction industry is a dominant sector around the globe. It is a key sector that plays a significant role within any country s economy, culture and social development. There are many contradictions in defining the construction industry (Barrie and Paulson, 1992). One of the clearest definitions was by the National Construction Council (NCC), which defined it as a sector of the economy that transforms various resources into constructed physical economic and social infrastructure necessary for socio economic development. It embraces the process by which the said physical infrastructure and planned, designed, procured, constructed or produced, altered, repaired, maintained and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Sociological Speculation through Theory A) Socialist feminism argues that both men and women may also believe that economic and emotional dependence go hand in hand. Fearful of the loss of economic security, a husband s power over his wife is absolute. An example of this characteristic from the socialist branch can be seen in my own personal life. When I was growing up, I experienced how my father would completely disregard my mother and her duties serving the household and the family, as she was a stay at home mom and my father worked and got paid for his labor. Her domestic work was trivialized as my father felt that he was doing real work. Because of this, my mother was quite submissive towards my father s behavior because she felt that she needed him for financial security and that she could not be capable of anything without him. B) Liberal feminists believe society does not have to be completely restructured to achieve empowerment for women and to incorporate women into meaningful and equitable roles. An example of this characteristic from the liberal branch is seen in the political system in the United States. It is harder for women to advance in politics due to the fact that it is a realm that has been dominated by men for a long period of time. In today s day and age, we see more female politicians coming to the forefront, and are dissolving the notion that politics only involves men by showing that they too are knowledgeable and interested in the political processes. This demonstrates liberal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An ethics of enhancement should not rest on blanket judgments; it should ask us to distinguish between the kinds of activities we want to enhance. Both students and academics have turned to cognition enhancing drugs in significant numbers but is their enhancement a form of cheating? The answer should hinge on whether the activity subject to enhancement is zero sum or non zero sum, and whether one is more concerned with excellence in process or excellence in outcome. Cognitive enhancement should be especially tolerated when the activities at stake are non zero sum and when the importance of process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I argue that the use of CEDs is especially beneficial, and should be especially tolerated, when the activities at stake are non zero sum and when the importance of process is outweighed by the importance of outcome. Finally, I criticize the claim that CEDs unnaturally cheapen human accomplishments; instead, I consider their use to be in line with well established conceptions of collaborative authorship, which shift the locus of praise and blame from individual creators to the ultimate products of their efforts. CHARACTERISTICS AND USE OF COgNITION ENHANCINg DRUgS Among the most common CEDs are modafinil, methylphenidate, and dextroamphetamine, which are available under the brand names Provigil, [ 146 ] Goodman CoGnitive enhanCement, CheatinG, and aCComplishment Ritalin, and Adderall, respectively. The Roles Of Male And Women In The Victorian Era In today s era both males and females being seen as equals is a widely accepted belief; however, in the Victorian era this thought would be laugh at. In fact, men were viewed far more superior to women. Where as, the men were put on a pedestal the women seemed to have little to no use. Although, women only had a few tasks to accomplish in life, what she was tasked with was highly expected of her. These were things such as do not be a burden, act as expected, marry well, and have a son. In the beginning, of a girls life if she had hope to live the average life span she would have to beat the unruly high death rates for females. Despite the fact that all children, in any social classes, were a mouth to be fed, they were still a potential source to help the family prosper. This however, did not stop parents from malnourishing their daughters so their sons may live or giving far less access to many essentials, such as clean bathing water. This lead to the daughters also being prone to infections. If that or other accidents did not kill the girls; however, some time the families would result to outright killing their own daughters. Theroux begins his paper by defining what it means to be a man stating, It means: Be stupid, be unfeeling, obedient, soldierly and stop thinking. (2) His intent, in this passage, is to express just how socially harmful society s definition of manhood can be and he goes on to provide examples of the effects this thinking has on both genders. He believes it contributes to the widening of the gap between the genders and encourages them to think of members of the opposite sex as The Other . To be this kind of man means to insist on a divide between the genders, depriving men of natural, healthy emotions and, although perhaps unconsciously, promoting the idea of male superiority. To start off, the Big Island is known for its active volcanoes, meaning it constantly erupts and spews lava. Geologists actually has a way to forecast the eruption of the volcanoes. Seismometers can be used to pinpoint earthquakes which track the rise of magma and its movement along fissures. (volcanoworld) This means that geologists uses seismometers in predicting volcanic eruptions so they can warn people about it. Duty Of Care And Diligence |Duty of Care and diligence | Concepts and standards of duty of care and diligence have changed significantly in contemporary society and these are regulated in the general law and corporate legislation with slightly difference (Ramsay, 1997). Legislation focuses on the appropriateness of the practice of directors, while general law concentrates on the foreseeability of the consequent damage. As per s 180 (1) of Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) defines, directors or other officers must exercise their rights and undertake their responsibilities with a duty of care and diligence, otherwise, they are negligent of duty. Poem Analysis Of To A Daughter Leaving Home By Linda Pastan Indu Tilija Professor Thomas ENG 125 008W November 17 2017 Poem Analysis, To A Daughter Leaving Home As there were many poems to choose, this poem analysis is To a Daughter Leaving Home by Linda Pastan. Linda Pastan s poems usually talks about families and the relationship between family members. This poem talks from the mom perspective, who remembers many memory of teaching her daughter how to ride a bicycle. From reading the whole poem, it seems to talk about how a mother saw her daughter grew up. The poet used good amount of metaphor using bicycle as a path of life. Analysis will start now with lines from the poem and explaining the meaning behind it. The mother starts with, When I taught you at eight to ride a bicycle, meaning her mom started to teach her about life at eight. Loping along beside your as your wobbled away on two round wheels. She has helped her by staying by her daughter side and helping her through the problems. My own mouth rounding in surprise when you pulled ahead down the curved path of the park. The meaning behind this is her mom was surprised when she got through the path fine on her own. This can have meaning such as the daughter fixed her own problem without the mother s support. I kept waiting for the thud of your crash as I sprinted to catch up, while you grew smaller. Her mother hoped she would need her help in disaster, but the daughter moves ahead on her own. This emphasizes that her daughter is moving forward in life meaning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema Essay Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema Feature films in the United States influence American viewers attitudes on a wide variety of topics. Americans attitudes toward politics are shaped by films, and specifically the politics of racial interaction. The history of modern feature films begins with Birth of a Nation (1915), a film that misrepresents the Black race by justifying the existence and role of the Ku Klux Klan in American society. From this racist precedent, producers and directors understood that visual messages, however latent, were a useful means of communicating a political message to a large audience. After this epiphany, a myriad of films were made for different political causes. Most films had multiple messages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stam states that this discourse is beside the point because it is impossible to make a realistic film. The fact that film watching is an escapist endeavor cannot be denied, but the problem lies in the fact that modern Western society has to see it to believe it, and subsequently viewers associate films with a sense of the real. Stam is right in saying that a realistic film cannot be made, but he ignores the fact that the stereotypes he dismisses had very real political messages in the Welles era. The presence of these racial and political messages in films cannot be denied because to a large extent they account for the racist attitudes against Latinos that persist today in White mainstream America. Later in film s history, the Chicano resistance movement sought to change the overall racist views that, by the 1970 s had been embedded in the American psyche. The conservative stereotypes of violent, sex crazed Latinos had a negative impact on the race s treatment, so Luis Valdez and his cohorts presented a liberal brand of politics to counter this racism, using films that embraced the true Chicano cultural identity. The history of film is essentially one of representation of certain groups, or as the case may be, misrepresentation. After America s short stint with Nickelodeon type movie theatres, full length feature films became the norm with Birth of a Nation (1915). D.W. The officers were forced to take shelter inside the establishment, and two policemen were slightly injured before reinforcements arrived to disperse the mob. Libertarians often rationalize that one must believe that humans have free will so that we as a society are able to hold people accountable for their actions. Yet, as a hard determinist, I would say that yes we do exist in a cause and effect world in which actions are predetermined; yet, we are the means of those actions. van Inwagen also rejects determinism because he believes in the possibility of one having multiple futures which determinism does not allow for. Most importantly, he rejects determinism s central idea, the causality relationship, in favor of a world in which humans can choose their own paths. This idea of choice is not sound as actions that one has no control over before birth indirectly influence their decision making, rationalizing, and so forth. For instance, people born into households with lower incomes tend to go to lower performing schools.
