Political socialization is the process by which people acquire political attitudes and behaviors through agents like family, school, media, religion, and political parties. It shapes political culture and participation. Political culture refers to the attitudes and values that characterize a political system, while political socialization deals with individuals. Factors like social status, demographics, and family relationships impact political socialization and how people engage with the political system. In Bangladesh, political socialization is shaped by its history of autocracy, centralized wealth and power in political parties, and the tension between democracy and authoritarianism.
Political socialization is the process by which individuals learn and frequently internalize a political lens framing their perceptions of how power is arranged and how the world around them is (and should be) organized; those perceptions, in turn, shape and define individuals' definitions of who they are.

Security is the deepest and most abiding issue in politics. At its heart is the question: How can people live a decent and worthwhile existence, free from threats, intimidation and violence?' The search for security is therefore linked to the pursuit of order; and for the establishment of relative peace and stability amongst individuals and groups with different needs and interests. These concerns are commonly thought to resolved in the domestic realm by the existence of a sovereign state, a body capable of imposing its will on all the groups and institutions within its borders. Nevertheless, domestic security raises important issues, particularly about the roles of the institutions of the 'coercive state'; the police and the military. However, the issue of security is often considered to be especially pressing in international politics because the international realm, unlike the domestic realm, is anarchical, and therefore threatening and unstable by its nature. There has been fierce theoretical debate about whether this implies that international conflict and war are inevitable features of world affairs, and about the extent to which states are able to keep war at bay through cooperation. These debates have become increasingly pressing due to the advent of new challenges to international security, such as the rise of transnational terrorism and the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Finally, growing interest in the concept of 'human security' has shifted attention from the security of the state to the security of the individual, and, in the process, widened the notion of security to include, for instance, economic security, food security and personal security.
Realists advance a power politics model of world affairs in which security is primarily understood in terms of 'national security' and war is kept in check by the balance of power. The liberal belief in interdependence and balance in world affairs inclines them to place their faith in 'collective security', while critical theorists have either emphasized the extent to which state interactions are mediated by beliefs, values and assumptions, or exposed masculinist biases in the conventional realist paradigm.

International relations represent the study of foreign affairs and global issues among states including the roles of the states, intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), non- governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational corporations (MNCs). It is both an academic and public policy field, and can be either positive or normative as it seeks both to analyze as well as formulate the foreign policy of particular states. It is often considered as the branch of political science.
Apart from political science, IR draws upon such diverse fields as economics, history, law, philosophy, geography, sociology, anthropology, psychology and cultural studies. It involves diverse range of issues including but not limited to: globalization, state sovereignty, ecological sustainability, nuclear proliferation, nationalism, economic development, global finance, terrorism, organized crime, human security, foreign interventionism and human rights.
this chapter focuses on how individuals learn about culture and become members of society. Specifically, this chapter aims to help students determine how people identify and acquire norms and values that define their interaction with others in society, understand the consequences of ignoring these aspects, assess the rules of social interaction, appreciate the role of innovation in response to problems and challenges, and recognize the value of upholding human rights and promoting the common good.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. What is Political socialization?
2
1
*Political socialization encompasses the way in which
people acquire values and opinions that shape their
political stance and ideology by which people acquire
political attitudes, culture and behaviors."
* It’s a learning process by which norms and
behaviors transmitted from one generation to
another.
3. Agents of Socialization.
Family:
Schools:
Media:
Families contribute to children's initial political ideological views, or party
affiliations. Families have an effect on "political knowledge, and
participation", depending on variables such as "family demographics, life
cycle, parenting style, parental level of political cynicism and frequency of
political discussions.
Spending numerous years in school, children in the United States are taught
and reinforced a view of the world that "privileges capitalism and
ownership, competitive individualism, and democracy
Mass media is not only a source of political information; it is an influence
on political values and beliefs. Various media outlets, through news
coverage and late-night programs.
4. Religion:
Political
party:
The state:
Religions beliefs and practices play a role in political opinion formation
and political participation. The theological and moral perspectives offered
by religious institutions shape judgment regarding public policy, equality,
tolerance, Gender roles.
Man is political & social animal. So political parties are the most powerful
agents among all others.
The state is a key source of information for media outlets, and has the
ability to "inform, misinform, or misinform the press and thus the public", a
strategy which may be referred to as propaganda, political or economic
agenda.
5. Socialization on the Political culture and Political participation.
1
2
3
*The term Political Culture means the attitudes, feelings, ideas, and values that
people have about politics, government, and their own role, and more generally
about authority in all its various forms that make up and characterize a political
community. A political culture is the way in which the individuals within the social
setting view their political system.
*Without political culture there would be no political socialization and without
political socialization there would be no political culture.
* Whereas Political culture deals with the collective, political socialization deals with
the Individual.
6. 1

The major factor in political socialization is social status/standing; this has a major influence on the
way in which a person would choose to deal with social issues, and the way in which they would try
to influence policy.
*Demographics also play an important part in the way people respond to politics as their different
situations are affects differently by their political system. Ethnic Identity, race, gender, age, economic
standing, country and education would have a significant effect on what they view as important to
them and what they would like to be done for them through their political system.
* Therefore, society is crucial for human beings because it is associated with their survival. In this
regard, family plays the most important role in spreading socialization. The type relationship formed
in family influences the early stages of children life and formation of their personality and thereby
prepares them to abide by social norms and rules and to have a successful and effective presence in
society.

One groups, made distinction between the state and society. They gave
primacy to society and general will of the people over the state.
second group of philosopher did not make and accept any distinction
between the state and society and advocated the supreme and total
control of the state over all aspects of life of the people. They gave
sharp focus on individual as basic unit.
