parameters that were determined included; temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen (DO), free
carbon dioxide, total alkalinity, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, biological oxygen demand
(BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), phosphate, sulphate , total dissolved solids (TDS) and
nitrate . The study revealed that, pond water was not much polluted. In the light of standards of water
quality recommended by WHO and BIS , the pond water should be used for drinking and cooking
after proper treatment.

With as many environmental problems that plague the world today, they all fall within three different
aspects of everyday life: political systems, economic systems, and material structures and resources.
The following theories conceptualize the root of environmental problems in these different areas of
society but are able to offer solutions independent of each other. In the selections of From Welfare
State to Ecostate, James Meadowcraft suggests that the key to solving environmental problems lies
within political systems and that we must rebuild those systems so that the environment will be
considered in every decision that gets made. Anthony Weston, in his book Mobilizing the Green
Imagination, feels that environmental problems lie in economic systems and that the solution would be
to revamp how products are made and distributed to limit the impact that production has on the
environment. Finally, in Techno Fix Michael and Joyce Huesemann see environmental problems
stemming from material structures and resources and that the way to combat problems in this aspect is
to reinvent technology that is sustainable, rather than having society function on resources that are
unsustainable (fossil fuels, for example).

However Gibson uses his words well and there are some smart lines throughout the poem. The
rhyming is very simple and the final word in each line rhymes with the other final word in each two
lined stanza. The simple nature of the rhythm in the poem gives it a gentle flow which is very
appropriate for the subject matter.
The poet s ability to use basic words, structure and rhythm appropriately enables him to create a smart
and crisp poem. The simplicity of the poem allows the readers to recognize the serious subject matter
of the poem, which is war.

My Dream Of Becoming A Doctor
I know that it sounds cliche, but for as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of becoming a doctor.
Luckily for me, Employment of physicians and surgeons is projected to grow 14 percent from 2014 to
2024, much faster than the average for all occupations (Bureau of Labor Statistics). After graduating
from high school next May, I plan to major in Engineering, and then go on to Medical School in order
to become a Neurosurgeon. After taking both the Gardner s Intelligence test and Myers Briggs
personality inventory, I discovered new things about myself that I never knew before, and I believe
that this new knowledge will help me excel in my dream of becoming a doctor. My highest score on
the Gardner s Intelligence test came in the Logical/Mathematical category. This score makes perfect
sense for me because I enjoy math and science classes. Additionally, I use logic and math almost
everyday because of my participation on Southview s Science Olympiad team. In order to achieve my
degree in engineering and then medical school, I will go though countless math and science classes.
