Investigating Chemical Properties Of When The Molecule

Experiment 3: Stereochemistry This lab consisted of formulating a mechanism by which dimethyl
maleate (cis confirmation) could be isomerized to dimethyl fumarate (trans confirmation) by heat,
light, or bromine. In order to investigate chemical properties of when the molecule is in a chiral vs.
achiral environment, enantiomers of carvones were compared. Enantiomers and diastereomers are the
two classes of stereoisomers. Stereoisomers are molecules that have the same chemical formula, but
differ in their three dimensional arrangement in space. Enantiomers are mirror images of each other
that are non superimposable. In an achiral enviroment, they do not rotate plane polarized light with the
same ability, but they exhibit the same physical and chemical properties. In a chiral enviroment,
enantiomers show different reactions with other molecules. The configuration of the enantiomer is
what determines the direction that it will rotate light. Light will either be rotated to the left or to the
right. Most enantiomers produced in a lab have a value of zero as their net rotation of plane polarized
light value and end up being in a 50:50 racemic mixture. Diasteromers are when two molecules have
equivalent stereocenters, but are not mirror images of each other. The molecules have different
chemical and physical properties. The S (+) Caravone and the R( ) Caravone enantiomers were used in

What Is The Theme Of Psychology In Lord Of The Flies
In the movie Lord of the Flies, a group of boys become stranded on an island and have to survive until
someone comes to rescue them. Though they may seem like innocent school boys at first, many of
them soon regress into a barbaric way of life becoming hunters . With the island split in two, the
themes of personality theory, aggression, and adolescence become more prevalent. Focusing on Ralph,
Piggy, Jack and Simon, we can further delve into these topics.
In class, we studied Sigmund Freud s personality theory; the Id, ego, and superego combine to create
the behavior of humans. The Id is an unconscious part of our personalities that work to satisfy our
basic urges, needs and desires. In the movie, Jack, the leader of the hunters , is a perfect representation
of the Id. He is obsessed with hunting and killing, which are instinctual and primal. He and his group
accidentally kill Simon thinking he is a monster. Even though it was an accident, Jack shows no
remorse. Later on, his group purposely killed Piggy and again, he shows no remorse. He reasons that
everything he is doing is in order for him and his group to survive and is necessary. Instead of
cheering up the younger boys, he says You better start learning to live with yourself, because we ain t
gonna get rescued (Lord of the Flies). He sets in everyone s, except Ralph and Piggy s, minds that
they have to be in survival mode. Throughout the whole production, Jack was the human
representation of the minds Id.

Compare And Contrast The Devil In The White City
In the book The Devil in the White city written by Erik Larson, depicts two stories of two very
different people, Daniel Hudson Burnham and Henry H. Holmes. Larson takes the readers on a roller
coaster ride and leaves the reader hanging at the top of that roller coaster. His narrative flow builds up
tension in the reader as the story continues, he uses transitional warning signs to convey his next line.
Erik Larson differentiates and adds similarities between Daniel Hudson Burnham and Henry H.
Holmes, the architect and the murderer. To begin with, Daniel Hudson Burnham was best known for
being one of the greatest architects in Chicago, New York, Washington, San Francisco, and Manila.
He was an achiever For example, on page 33 it states, By traditional architectural standards the
challenge seemed an impossible one. Alone neither architect could have done it, but together,
BUrnham believed, he and Root had the will and the interlocking powers of organization and design

Holmes was a psychopathic doctor, a pharmacist, and a serial killer from New Hampshire who came
to Chicago. Holmes perceived himself as a lovable and charming young guy who manipulated anyone
who he came in contact with. Although, he was this successful doctor he had his secrets. The Devil in
the White City explains the evil human being that he was, it showed how he hid behind his mask.
Holmes used his good looks and blue eyes to lure anyone he knew. He was a monster as it says I was
born with the devil in me, Holmes wrote. I could not help the fact that I was a murderer, no more than
a poet can help the inspiration to sing. In the book, Larson shows how Henry H. Holmes did not feel
guilt for what he did, he accepted himself as a gruesome

Supply Chain Standards For Supply Chains
Setting Supply Chain Standards to Improve Supply Chain Management
In 2002 congress considered legislation authorizing $47 million to help develop supply chain
integration standards. Since the introduction of the bill to integrate supply chains, The legislation, The
Enterprise Integration Act of 2002, was enacted to authorize the National Institute of Standard and
Technology to work with major manufacturing industries on an initiative of standards development
and implementation for electronic enterprise integration (H.R. 2733 (107th): Enterprise Integration
Act of 2002). According to the case background readings setting supply chain standard will improve
supply chain management. In this paper I will discuss how setting supply chain ... Show more content

Supply chain management is the active management of supply chain activities to maximize customer
value and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. The management of the supply chain involves
the efforts of all partners in the supply chain working together to effectively and efficiently deliver
goods (Handfield, R, 20011). Supply chain standards that are shared globally throughout industries
results in methods and rules that allows predictability, and agreed standard and guidelines. These
standards will enable partners throughout the supply chain the freedom to apply influence on industry
standards that will result in sustainable business practices that mirror the needs of and integrated
supply chain aiding in maximum efficiency throughout the chain.
To maintain a business, supply chain management needs strong certainties on the everyday action of
the business from all accomplices in the supply chain. To spare cost and convey more products to
more destinations quicker, a business and their suppliers must have an institutionalized supply chain.
The test is to place the emphasis on stock inventory management instead of information management
(Spiegeleire, 2015). The absences of supply chain measures will build the expense of inventory
management, funds are forestalled and advantage opportunities over your supply chain are lessened.

Still Alice Research Paper
Tough times may be hard but when push comes to shove, those very times can be the very things that
makes you grow stronger. In the novel Still Alice, Lisa Genova demonstrates that going through
something painful helps you grow strong. In this novel, the main character Alice goes through a lot, as
the story processed the readers come to know a lot. While not knowing herself, the readers finds out a
lot and sees just how much Alice tried to stay sane. She is dealing with lots of suffering, such as the
loss of her mother, having Alzheimers giving up who she is and finding out who is really and truly
there for her. These painful times makes Alice grow stronger as a person in the end. First and
foremost, Alice, one of her toughest times was when her mother died. Alice having Alzheimers forgot
her mother died... Which was indeed tragic and she was so devastated finding out, that she passed

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Insomnia Essay
As a kid all I would want to do is pull all nighters , now all I want is to actually have one good night s
sleep, or at least half a night s sleep. For those who are completely oblivious to what insomnia is it is
characterized as a persistent lack of sleep, but those who have insomnia know that it is so much more
than just a lack of sleep. For instance, there are actually different types of insomnia that are
categorized by how long you stay awake, if lack of sleep last less than a week then it is considered
Transient Insomnia, if it last one to three weeks its Short Term Insomnia, and if it last longer than
three weeks it s called Chronic Insomnia. I myself suffer from insomnia, and my symptoms would
usually last one to two weeks so I have Short Term Insomnia. Now I didn t know I had any problems
till I was about seven years old, up till then I just thought I was a hyper energetic kid who just wants to
stay up. Before I was diagnosed with insomnia I was a energetic kid who was always enthusiastic
about everything, but as I grew older and school became more demanding I would be tired after
school but I knew there was no way I could go to sleep still and I couldn t understand why.
Sleep is for the weak, at least that s what I would try and tell myself. I wanted to believe that sleep
was not as important as everyone says it is, but that quickly changed when the lack of sleep I was
having was starting to affect my way of daily living. Around the age of eight or nine my

Representation And Misrepresentation
P3: Describe the law with respect to misinterpretation in given situation. Difference between
representation and misrepresentation: Representation true statement by one or more parties to the
agreement, Misrepresentation false or untrue statement by one party which is believed on by the other
party when they enter a contract. However, if one party did not rely on the statement and attempts to
seek the true of the false statement it is not considered misrepresentation. If misrepresentation occurs
damages can be recovered depending on the type of misrepresentation. Rules of misrepresentation 1.)

no reasonable ground to believe that the statement they made is true. For example: Hedley Byrne v

financial situation and they replied that the state of company finance is good. However, after Hedley
and Byrne went bankrupt and sued Heller for false statement which has cause business to close down.
Effect on contract: Negligent misrepresentation will allow the injured party to rescind contract or
claim damages. 3.) Innocent misrepresentation false statement but not deliberate. The representor
reliably believes that the statement is true. For example: For example if a person A makes a
misrepresentation to person B to say that the computer is able to work in Apple software and Person B
believed that the statement was true. Therefore, by person B believing the statement then it was an

Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Comparison
The movie Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, directed by Kenneth Branagh may be the most accurate
depiction of such a prestigious work of art in Mary Shelley s novel titled Frankenstein. The movie
encompasses the themes that Shelley set out to exhibit in her own novel in a mirror like fashion except
for the reason it is being portrayed on the big screen rather than on paper. In addition to the messages
being displayed in the film and novel being alike, the storylines were almost identical. The movie
even included the highly beneficial frame story with Robert Walton and his crew and their travelings
to the North Pole. Lastly, the actors and props within the movie could not have done a better job of
portraying the feelings of the characters and the setting of this well known story. ... Show more

Both of these themes are very accurately depicted in the film, as Shelley wrote them out in her novel.
For example, in the novel the dangers of knowledge are demonstrated when Victor Frankenstein uses
his own knowledge to create a monster which ends up being dangerous to all of humanity. However at
the conclusion of the novel, after Robert Walton understands what knowledge can do, he still leads his
crew in pursuit to the North Pole for knowledge. Now, the film portrays the exact line of events except
when Walton discovers what knowledge can do, instead of ignoring it, he turns his ship around for the
safety of himself and his crew. This may be even more effective to a reader or observer understanding
the theme, witnessing a character realize the unfortunate events of another character and making better
decisions for themselves. So, not only does the movie illustrate the same themes as Shelley does in her
novel, but it may even exhibit them in a more perceptible

Music Is A Important Part Of Our Life
Without music, life would be a mistake. Music is a very important part of our live, and those who
make music are very special in this world. Music not being involved in my life would result in
harmonies and melodies leaving me totally empty. When I was younger , I didn t have the great love
for music as I do now entering the second year of college. I mainly listened to whatever was playing
either in the background or what my mom was listening to. I can personally say that I didn t have
much of a care for musical compositions. At the time I didn t have a preference of the particular genre
of music much, but now as I am older, I enjoy it as it allows me to reminisce on memories from
specific times in my childhood. Once after I had hit my teenage years music began to become my life
and gradually started to inhibit on my soul. Music has the ability to convey all sorts of emotions in my
personal opinion. Whether the emotion is happiness or sadness and despair through foot tapping
rhythms, harmonies and the lyrics music shows it. The musical images that music and song are able to
portray and create are amazing. Music has created the ability to turn or transport me back in time just
like a time machine. Allowing me to revisit lost and forgotten moments in life. Songs can paint a
picture, for example in classical and country music where a story is being told compared to pop songs.
The music in classical music tells a story without lyrics which is a strong and powerful thing. I

The Impact Of Mass Media On Children
Mental health problems have been affecting nearly every society in some way, shape, or form for as
long as we can remember. According to the World Health Organization, approximately one million
people die from suicide every year (Schaefer, 2018, p. 6). Durkheim also noted that the suicide rate in
a society reflects how well the people were integrated in the society (Schaefer, 2018, p. 7). The
problem that I want to focus on revolves around how marketing to children teaches them values, like
material objects and money, that will eventually lead to higher rates of anxiety and depression at an
earlier age. It is known that the mass media strongly influences kids ages 12 to 17, but the age at
which kids gain access to technology is starting to decline (Schaefer, 2018, p. 90). Gradually, we can
see how the media has an overwhelming effect on the youth from the way children think about their
future and their career path to the way that they play. This is directly observed in a nationwide survey
of incoming college freshmen which shows that values having to do with money and power rose from
42 percent in 1966 to 82 percent in 2015 (Schaefer, 2018, p. 63). If corporations constantly promote
the idea that having more things will lead to happiness, then when kids can t have those things they
start to believe that they can t be happy without them. Method In this study, the first variable that will
be measured are the time kids (age five to twelve) spend either watching TV or on

such as freedom, equality, self rage, and the ways of society. The poem illustrates a bird that is in a
cage, and longs to be free. The bird is angry, but cannot do anything but watch and lone for what he
cannot have. The caged bird, stalks the free bird from his cage and imagines the beauty of being that

DNA Profiling Essay example
From cases such as OJ Simpson to Chandra Levy, DNA profiling also called DNA fingerprinting or
DNA typing has played a major role in the criminal justice system. The law enforcement community
uses DNA profiling to rule out or identify suspects. Unlike hair microscopy, bite mark comparisons,
shoe print comparisons, and firearm tool mark analysis, DNA typing has been developed through
massive scientific research and has undergone meticulous scientific evaluation (Innocence Project).
DNA is a foolproof method of identifying a perpetrator of a crime.

With over three million base pairs in the human gene, forensic scientists are able to distinguish a
person s genetic makeup.
. DNA profiling was first introduced to the criminal justice field in the mid 1980 s (DNA Initiative).
DNA profiling was first described in 1984 by Alec Jeffreys, a geneticist at the University of Leicester
in Britain (Aronson, 7). Dr. Jeffreys found that the genes that have no function, called junk DNA is
where most of the variation is used for DNA profiling (Aronson 9). This region contains DNA
sequences that repeat over and over again. Alec Jeffreys determined that the number of repeated
sections at different locations vary from individual to individual (DNA Initiative). Consequently these
repetitive regions became known as variable number of tandem repeats or VNTR s.
RFLP or restriction fragment length polymorphisms became the first scientifically accepted DNA
analysis method in the United States (Jones). The repeat segments are cut out of the DNA strand by a
restrictive enzyme that acts like scissors and the resulting fragments are sorted out by electrophoresis
(Saferstein 391). However, there are some drawbacks using the RFLP method in the forensic science
community. The RFLP technique requires a large amount of DNA and must be of high quality and
cannot be degraded (Jones). Forensic scientists and the law enforcement community

Transnational Criminal Organization and the Law...
The problem of transnational criminal organization poses some unique challenges to the law
enforcement community. The scope of these organizations activities and personnel creates
exponentially more work for law enforcement than relatively isolated or contained criminal acts by
individuals or small groups. Random and personal crimes committed by individuals can usually be
handled by police at the local level, as the investigation is limited to the known crime (or crimes) that
have been committed and reported. In these cases, identifying and apprehending the perpetrator is
possible through investigation of the evidence of the specific instance of crime. This is not the case
with large criminal organizations. The scale of criminal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These offenders may form groups and teams and play different roles (Xu and Chen). These groups and
teams may have vastly different functions, such as production, transportation, distribution and
marketing of illegal goods and services, as well as the eventual laundering of the ill gotten proceeds
from the illegal activity (Jiminez). Network analysis helps analysts determine the activities being
conducted by the criminal enterprise and who all is involved and in what capacity. In the end, criminal
network analysis integrates information from multiple crime incidents and even multiple sources to
discover regular patterns about the structure, organization, operation, and information flow in criminal
networks (Xu and Chen). This general intelligence on the groups will aid investigative efforts and
facilitate collection of evidence for use in court.
Several software programs (like i2 s Analyst s Notebook) have been developed to automate and
streamline criminal network analysis. Although these programs automate much of the analysis
(especially of large amount of raw data) there are still some basic techniques that occur behind the
scenes in the software, that could still be done manually by the analyst. The first step is creating an
association matrix of known and suspected associations between members of the criminal
organization (Precision Computing Intelligence).

Newspaper Comparison
Today s society is in many respects dominated by the media. Newspapers, books, television, radio and
the Internet not only play significant role in an average person s life but are also multi billion pound
industries that, through the public exposure they are subject to, carry great influence. One of the oldest
media formats still in use is the newspaper. This old printed format carries great political power and
boasts huge readerships, partly due to its cheap price, never exceeding a few pounds an issue, and its
portability.
Throughout the decades during which Newspapers have developed, two main styles of writing and
presentation in newspapers have emerged: Tabloid and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, tabloids are generally considered to be the more sensationalist, emotionally concerned and
subjective newspapers containing more pictures and easy to read text (such as the Sun and the Mirror).
Typically, Many Tabloid only require a reading age of 9, thus allowing them to be readily understood
by the less well educated and intellectual members of the public. Clearly, the properties of these
formats can be seen as direct opposites. However they do share some similarities. An obvious
common property of all newspapers is that they are commercial, that is, that they will try to appeal to a
large a readership as possible, within their market niche readership and this is reflected in their range
of content and style. Some newspapers try to appeal to more people by mixing elements of tabloids
and broadsheets (such as the Daily Mail and the Daily Express), although the large tabloid and
broadsheet newspapers tend to follow the traditional stereotypical styles for their type. The other key
similarity between each type of newspaper is that they all exist to report the news and current affairs,
differing only in the way in which they present and portray news stories which is also dependent on

Abstract
The differences between Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and the similar disorder, Attachment
Anxiety Disorder, were examined to show that the disorders are alike. The causes of Separation
Anxiety Disorder and the symptoms in which a child could be diagnosed were discussed. Following
that, the treatments that were presently available and ways parents could do to counter the onset of this
disorder were observed. Lastly, examples presented of the research studies were observed on a thirteen
year old boy and a two year old pointer cross. Both examples showed how both mother and owner of
the dog could figure out how the son and the dog were diagnosed and how they were treated.
Separation Anxiety disorder
Separation anxiety disorder is a condition that causes a child severe distress when away from the
parents or the caregivers. Studies show that 4 5% of children and adolescents typically have this
disorder. This paper will provide an overview of the present understandings of SAD. The information
covered in this paper will include an example of a study for both a child and an animal. The areas
examined will focus on the causes, symptoms, methods of diagnosis, ways to prevent it and the
treatment currently available for this order.

Asean Essay
The Quest for ASEAN Economic Community through Consensus Building
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) began on August 8, 1967, when Indonesia,
Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, settled their differences and decided to form the group
due to the prevailing geopolitical conditions. Fresh from the debilitating effects of historical
antagonism brought upon by territorial disputes drawn by colonial division, the power vacuum left by
decolonization is quickly replaced by Cold War polarization. The need to stay neutral and insulate
them from big power rivalry becomes a necessity for the newly independent states who have grown
tired of foreign domination and intervention and just wants to live in harmony and prosperity ... Show

This landmark agreement defined the group s development and organizational initiatives from its
inception until its current ten member states configuration. ASEAN adopted the principles of
consensus decision making and flexibility, which is an indirect pledge of non aggression and good
faith. Since then, ASEAN s negotiations were carried out on the basis of accommodating every
member state s position as much as possible. There is always the use of constant consultations and
discussions until a viable consensus is reached. This seems to have worked to bolster relations
internally and somehow preserve each participant s sovereignty. It was also during this time that
ASEAN declared the group s pursuit of political stability and economic prosperity through the
ASEAN Concord. It was supported by establishing a secretariat to further consolidate its
achievements and expand cooperation in economic, social, cultural and political fields.
Asian Financial Crisis
In 1997, the group was suddenly faced by a financial crisis which brought down the economic gains of
each member state at that time to catastrophic levels, especially Indonesia and Thailand. The group
responded by pursuing an integrated economic policy and made the historic decision of transforming
the region into a single market and

Paint Pigment Essay
The History of Paint Pigments
Chem 111 404
April 24, 2013
Introduction:
This report expresses five different pigments that were formed during chemical reactions. Three out of
the total five reactions went through a metathesis, or double replacment reaction. A metathesis
reaction can be defined as a chemical reaction in which an element or radical in one compound
exchanges places with another element or radical in another compound. (Webster). The other two
pigments underwent a neutralization reaction, which is A reaction between an acid and a base that
yields a salt and water. (Webster). In both types of reaction two substances are being combined to
form a new solution. The metathesis reaction produces a solution and a ... Show more content on

The first half was filtered and stored for the completion of the experiment, while the other half was
stored for a week, unfiltered. The next week the unfiltered solution in beaker was filtered and set aside
for another week.
The fifth, and final pigment, was Prussian blue. One milliliter of 0.5 M iron (III) chloride was
measured into a test tube. Then, 0.25 M solution of potassium ferrocyanide was mixed in. They were
then filtered, and left to dry. The next week there were four paint binding options: egg tempura,
casein, acrylic, and water color or gum arabic. This experiment used watercolor. The first step was to
grind the pigment with water to make a stiff paste. Then, gum Arabic was added in a 1:1 ratio.
Results:
The data produced from the experiment demonstrates that when two solutions are mixed, they undergo
a reaction that produces a pigmented or colored precipitate and also a liquid. The precipitate produced
then can be fashioned into paint. In the first pigment, chrome yellow was produced. The yellow
sodium chromate combined with the clear zinc sulfate created an orange liquid and a yellow
precipitate. This is a metathesis reaction that causes the solution to be neutralized. The addition of
sodium hydroxide causes the solution to become more basic. After the solution was filtered it created a
yellow solid, and when the precipitate was crushed up and gum Arabic was it created a yellow

Letter To Walden
Dear Henry David Thoreau, You may be dead now, but you left a huge impact on the world and on the
lives of high school and college students reading your essay Walden, for school. You spent two years
at Walden Pond. Why you spent exactly that much time, why you got away from society, why you
lived in a small house, will be cryptic to us. You say that this lifestyle was to avoid materialism and
find yourself in nature to achieve transcendence. And, this was true in your large essay, for the most
part. I began to learn from your writings (Walden, Civil disobedience), however confusing and
metaphorical they are. I respect you and what you have taught society. But, you always contradict
yourself. Also, I want to tell you know that in your essay of Walden you said that As you simplify live
your life, the laws of the universe will be simple; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be
poverty, nor weakness will be weakness. I agree with you but considering that in the light of these
modern days it is almost impossible to keep up with simplicity even though I know that to keep up
with simplicity is a good thing. like I said, it is almost impossible for our generation to live without
technology, without light, and without any facilities because in today s modern world technology is

Healthy Racial Identity Development Among Older White Youth
Healthy racial identity development among older white youth is a bit more complex. Often, white
students must come to understand that society attaches meaning to their whiteness and that they have a

The American Civil Rights Movement was a movement of the people. Black and white, male and
female, Jew and Christian, rich and poor ordinary people who came together across differences to
advance this nation s core value of equality and demand an end to the discrimination against African
Americans.

Juliette Morgan was a woman of wealth, status, education and connections. She was an aristocrat of
Montgomery society. On the surface, she appeared to be the definitive Southern belle.
One seemingly insignificant thing about Morgan s life separated her from her privileged friends. She
had severe anxiety attacks. These attacks prevented her from driving her own car so, to get to work,
she rode the city buses in Montgomery. On those buses, she saw white bus drivers use the tone and
manners of mule drivers in their treatment of Negro passengers. She watched them threaten and
humiliate black men and women who paid the same 10 cent fare she paid.
From Socialite to Social Activist
In 1939, 16 years before the famous Montgomery Bus Boycott, Morgan began writing letters to the
Montgomery Advertiser, the city s local newspaper, denouncing the horrible injustices she witnessed
on the city buses. In these letters, she said segregation was un Christian and wrong, and the citizens of
Montgomery should do something about it. The response was immediate: Morgan lost her job at a
local bookstore.

Voter Registration And Voter Id Laws
Recently state and federal legislators have been discussing voter identification laws, also known as
voter ID laws. This issue is controversial because it can lead states to deny voters a vote without an
approved ID. On one hand, some supporters of ID laws argue that these laws are preventing criminals
from committing fraud. From this perspective, the laws are protecting the value of a vote and what it
means to actually participate in an election vote. On the other hand, however, people argue that by
placing the restriction on voting it is impeding the people constitutional rights much like a poll tax.
Opponents also claim that by enforcing an ID law it is creating a poll tax similar to the ones created to
prevent the African American people from voting. A poll tax is a specific amount a person is charged
before being able to place a vote; the comparison between a poll tax and a driver s license fee is like
comparing apples and oranges, when getting a driver s license a person is using their license as their
main form of ID. Poll taxes were outlaw in the 1960s by the 24th amendment.
In the words of Cathy Cohen, one of the main opponents of voter ID, Voter turnout among young
people may be significantly reduced because of these laws (Frisby). According the view of Cohen, she
does not account for the young people who do not intend to vote, not because of the laws but because
of laziness, lack of interest, and outright apathy. The late United States president John F. Kennedy

Ron and Ablus can be bad characters because they encourage Harry and Hermione. Harry Potter also

Essay The history of video games
In the beginning........
The first real video game was made in 1958, by a physicist named William Higginbotham. It is a table
tennis like game and is played on an oscilloscope, a device used for visual displays. While some big
name games, company s, and events have yet to happen, this is what sparked the video game interest.
These paragraphs will guide you through the many years of games. Lets a go!!
Early years (1961 1972)
Things start off when the first interactive computer game SpaceWars (made in 1961) is visited by the
eventual founders of Atari Nolan Bushnell Ted Dabney attempt to make an arcade version of the game
in 1970. In 1971 they succeed, but the public finds it too hard to play. In 1972, a console ... Show

companies Atari will have to compete with. Let s see how long Atari will last.
Hits and misses, plus a crash. (1981 1984)
To start off, we go 1981, the beginning of the first video game magazine, Electronic games, made by
Arnie Katz and Bill Kunkle. 1982 introduces the Atari 5200. The next year is much more eventful. It
starts off with a video game market crash, and several companies go bankrupt. However, there is good
news and its name is Nintendo. The Japanese company is not willing to release the Nintendo
Entertainment System (NES) in America because Atari rules a large part of the market. Instead, they
decide to offer Atari the rights to release the product in the U.S. The plans fall through and we do not
see Nintendo until 1985.
Consoles galore!!! (1985 89)
If the title didn t give it away, there will be a lot of new devices to play on, plus a now game only
company that made a lot of consoles before it went game only will be introduced. So back on the
timeline........... We start off at 1985 where a Russian programmer named Alex Pajitnov makes the
popular game, Tetris. As said above, the NES is released. If you want to play some of its games now,

TRAVEL, in the younger sort, is a part of education, in the elder, a part of experience. (Francis

People from different age groups have different motive behind traveling. Children travel to have fun

There are several places to travel to, it depends on the traveler where he wishes to go and what is his
main objective. The general classification of places is by hill stations, beaches, desert, busy cities, etc.
Each of these places has their own charm and beauty. Not to forget these places also have a certain
time period to be visited in for the best experience. But that is applicable only when u have to visit the
place for a holiday time and not for a business trip. Travelling to take a gap from our busy schedule is
very good for health. It relaxes our mind and makes it all fresh for the work. It is advisable to take a
trip between busy schedules to calm our mind. Besides, if a person is stationary for a longer period of
time, he becomes monotonous. Travelling to various places broadens our mindset and refreshes our
brain. A visit to a place imparts practical knowledge of important places, persons, things and the
nature of people. (http://www.preservearticles.com/201104265980/essay on travelling.html) Travelling

also cared and loved for everyone. He would help those in need and enjoy it too. All around Roberto
Clemente was a wonderful man. In these next five pages I will be talking about his life and how he
was a good samaritan throughout his life.
Roberto Clemente was born in the summer in August 18, 1934. He was born in a house of concrete
and wood on an old country road in Barrio San Anton, Carolina, Puerto Rico. He was the youngest of
seven children. His father was a foreman overseeing sugar cane cutters and helped deliver sand and
gravel for a construction company. His mother did laundry, ran a grocery store and did other jobs on
the sugar cane plantation. Roberto did odd jobs so he could help the family and buy himself a bicycle.
Growing up, Roberto played baseball and participated in track and field. He won medals for the
javelin throw and short distance races. Throwing the javelin strengthened his arm for throwing a
baseball. Roberto was a very athletic boy.
Roberto Clemente had four brothers and two sisters. He did have to work with his father loading and
unloading trucks because his family was poor. He was very interested in baseball ever since he was
young and played against teams in his neighborhood. He went to Vizcarrondo High School in

It was all good until I was picked to be a goalkeeper. I hated being goalkeeper because being goal
keeper means one literally keeps the team s score, like you re the one responsible for your wins, if you
mess up the whole team is screwed. Compare it to an ancient war and someone is in charge of keeping

Essay about Patrick Henry s Famous Speech
Patrick Henry s Famous Speech
Give me liberty or give me death. These famous words were uttered by Patrick Henry on March 23,
1775, as a conclusion to his speech delivered to the Virginia House of Burgesses. Within his speech,
he uses the three rhetorical appeals (ethos, logos, and pathos) to convey a feeling of urgency toward
the changes occurring in policy within the Americas implemented by the British government. He
cleverly uses these appeals to disrupt the paradigm that Great Britain is going to let the American
people have any liberty.
The Purpose of this speech is to gain support for a freedom movement from the British government.

The very first sentence, ?No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of
the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the house. But?? conveys the message of him
caring about what others have said before he spoke. It also implies that he disagrees with some of their
views, which he goes on to explain through deductive reasoning in his speech
Patrick Henry uses logos in his speech by talking about Great Britain and how its military is infringing
on the right of the people living in the Americas, and how ?a British guard shall be stationed in every
house? when there is no war. The point he establishes about the extent of British abuse within America
can also be viewed as pathos.
Within Patrick Henry s speech, he states, ?? it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We
are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth.? Here he is talking about the people in the House of
Burgesses not realizing that the British are infringing on their rights as citizens.
[And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the

Principal Difference Between Apollonius And Jesus
Ehrman s first argument delves into the history of so called divine beings , particularly in ancient
Greece and Rome, to help his argument, as he claims that Jesus was not the first, and certainly not the
only, divine being in history, saying that We should not think of Jesus as unique , if by that term we
mean that he was the only one like that that is.....a man who was also in some sense divine (Ehrman
17). Ehrman s first example is Apollonius, a man whose story is very similar to Jesus. According to
Ehrman, the birth of Apollonius came with divine signs from the heavens, and as an adult, he left
home, traveling and preaching, collecting followers and performing miracles, and leading his
followers to believe that he was the Son of God. Later, like Jesus, he too angered the Roman
authorities and was put to death, though he allegedly ascended to heaven afterwards. However, the
principal difference between Apollonius and Jesus was that Apollonius was a pagan, a worshiper of
multiple Roman gods, who was seen by some as a competitor of Jesus, though historically, Jesus and
his followers rose victorious, due to the spread of Christianity, and Apollonius remains all but
forgotten to today s society. However, it wasn t just holy men who could come to be revered as divine,
according to Ehrman, as he moves on to talk about how Roman emperors were often revered as gods.
For instance, Julius Caesar declared that he had a divine heritage, In a funeral oration

Comparing Three Creation Stories
One of biggest mysteries that people have been trying to answer for centuries is, How was the earth
created? Every culture and religion has a different story that attempts to describe how we came to be.
When we pick different creation stories from cultures and religions it s interesting to see what
similarities and differences arise. This paper will analyze some of the similar and different aspects of
three different creation stories. The first creation story is described in the Bible in Genesis 1 2:3, the
second in Genesis 2:4 24, and the third is the creation story of the Kono people of Guinea called
Death, and Life and Death.

In Genesis 1, the creating power, God, creates plants on day three of the six days of creation. Living
creatures (excluding humans) were created on the fifth and sixth days (ESV Gen 1:11 25). In the
Genesis 2 creation account, the Lord God plants the Garden of Eden after he creates the man. He then
creates animals in the same way he created the man and the man names all the animals (ESV Gen 2:7
20). In Death, and Life and Death, the god Alatangana consolidates the earth from mud, creates plants
to cover the earth, and then creates animals to live on it ( Death, and Life and Death ).
The creating power in Genesis 1 is referred to as God (ESV Gen 1:1 31; 2:1 3). What s interesting is
that in Genesis 2, each time the creating power is referenced; he is referred to as the Lord God (ESV
Gen. 2:4 25). Christians believe that God and the Lord God are the same being, but it s interesting that
they aren t described with the same name. Still, both Genesis accounts creating powers differ from the

Sometimes, some people will use a lie to hurt or laugh at someone. For example, when I was in
primary school, my classmate enjoyed to laugh with someone in my class. Maybe they want to make
fun of people, but they always make other people feel really bad of themselves. My teachers always
told us to not do those awful things to other, but they didn t care about that. They still make fun of
other students. I think it is an immoral way to use lie because that would hurt not on the body, but on
the spiritual side! If the spiritual gets hurt, it is harder to recover than physique pain! Also, my
classmate could destroy a person childhood. It is the fact and grave! Lie can destroy everything not
only childhood!
Lies can be one kind of believe and have fun. For example, if the father and mother tell their kids
about Christmas has Santa Claus, who gives Christmas presents to their kids. Some kids usually
believe in Santa Claus. In the future, the kids will know it is not true, but they will think it was a good
memory in their childhood! I think it is a good way to use lie. Lying can be fun, but doesn t use it in a
bad way on other person because it will lets the person get hurt like my classmate.
In my daily life, people always lie for purpose. For instance, my friend would like to transfer to
California s college. The college required the TOEFL test, and she has already prepared for the test
and waited to transfer

Amaranth Advisors Essay
Amaranth Advisors LLC was created in 2000 as a multi strategy hedge fund with approximately $600
million in capital. It sought to employ a diverse group of arbitrage trading strategies particularly
featuring convertible bonds, mergers and utilities. In 2002, Amaranth added energy commodity
trading to its slate of strategies with JP Morgan Chase clearing Amaranth s commodity trades. A multi
strategy fund runs several different strategies in house that contribute to the total performance of the
fund. A single strategy fund concentrates the whole portfolio on one strategy.
Amaranth was long natural gas futures. They enjoyed huge profits from natural gas futures and option
trades in 2005 and early 2006. Brian Hunter used borrowed money ... Show more content on

During a follow up notification on August 9 NYMEX further notified Amaranth that they should not
reduce September positions simply by shifting those positions to the October contract. Amaranth
complied with NYMEX s directions and subsequently reduced its September and October positions.
However, at the same time Amaranth increased its positions in September and October in ICE
contracts and as a results increased their overall positions in natural gas. The events that followed in
late August and September led to huge losses with Amaranth losing significant value.
The losses were created due to overconfidence, lack of transparency, and lack of risk management.
Amaranth enjoyed huge profits and thought prices would just keep rising. There was no
communication between Hunter and the management team. Also, investors had no knowledge that the
majority of the portfolio was invested in natural gas positions. Leverage played a huge role in the
losses. A hedge fund will typically borrow money, with certain funds borrowing sums many times
greater than the initial investment. If a hedge fund has borrowed $9 for every $1 received from
investors, a loss of only 10% of the value of the investments of the hedge fund will wipe out 100% of
the value of the investor s stake in the fund, once the creditors have called in their loans.
Risk management at Amaranth failed in August

The Ideology Of The Nazi Party Essay
The 25 Points Aims and Ideology of the Nazi Party
In 1920, Hitler and Anton Drexler wrote the 25 points, explaining the main ideas of the party and the
principles to bring Germany to his former glory. They were written to appeal to the Nationalists who
believed that Germans were the superior race, socialists who wished to assist lower class people and
most others who wanted restore Germany and blamed other such as the Jews for Germany s defeat in
World War 1. The points regarded the unification of Germany, self determination gain back of land
and expansions of settlements, destroying the treaty, anti semitism, anti foreigner, member of the race

At the conclusion of World War 1, Germany were in a serious war debt. They continued to print paper
money but did not have the economic resources to back it up. There reparation need to be payed in
Gold or foreign currency, therefore the Germans printed paper marks in mass quantities to buy foreign
currency. This further increased the inflation of the paper mark. In 1922, Germany had no way to pay
there reparations as the price of Gold was beyond what they could afford. This forced the Germans to
pay there reparations in the form of coal. By November 1923, 4,210,500,000,000 German marks was
worth only 1 US dollar. The inflation mainly hit those who had savings, who s money became
worthless. This inflation was mainly as a result of German abandoning gold during WW1. To try and
solve this issue, the Weimar government began issuing more notes with higher values. Some notes
were worth over 1000 trillion Reichsmarks. The results of this hyperinflation divested the German
people. The prices of basic things doubled within minutes, leaving most unable to afford them. It
became so bad the money was used as fuel, toys and to line cake tins. Many people began trading
items, abandoning the currency completely. The hyperinflation also made it impossible for any
international trade to take

Suv And Crossover Vehicles Of Cars
SUV and Crossover vehicles are starting to take over the US car market. 2016 is the year of the SUV
and pickup truck. Each month the car sales share of the market slips a bit (NPR, 2016). This means
that sales of your average car are starting to slip. If you pay attention while driving down the road you
may notice this. I believe there are several reasons why this is starting to be the case. SUVs and
Crossover vehicles sit higher than an average commuter or luxury car. They tend to have more space
inside for passengers and cargo. They are starting to rival the fuel economy of cars. Four wheel drive
is a feature available to all of them. Now before I get started I said SUVs and Crossovers. While these
two types of vehicles are broadly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is especially true if a person has to commute long distances to work. A new study by
TrueCar.com finds tooling around in a small SUV is no longer that wasteful. The sales weighted fuel
economy average is only 2 miles per gallon apart (26.83 mpg SUV vs. 28.84 mpg sedan) SUV owners
typically will pay only another $3 more tankful to fill up their SUV compared to a sedan. (USA Today,
2015). Granted those numbers are for a Crossover, However manufactures like Nissan and RAM
Trucks are starting to place small diesel engines in half ton trucks in order to gain fuel economy
without sacrificing payload capability. RAM is claiming to make up to 29 MPG with their small diesel
(I was not able to find fuel economy numbers for the Nissan engine). So it is likely fair to assume that
it is only a matter of time before traditional SUVs get engines of that type. Height is also an apparent
factor in the purchase of these vehicles. People reportedly like the fact that they sit higher than an
average car. It gives people the feeling that they have command of the road . As someone that drives a
full size truck I can confirm that being able to see over the car(s) in front of you does give you a
certain commanding feeling. Driving a low sitting sedan just feels like you are dragging your backside
across the pavement. However I think there may be more to the height factor.
As an individual that has long legs and knees that are not so great, getting in and

  • 2. Investigating Chemical Properties Of When The Molecule Diack CH 220C Michael Wood 10/8/14 Experiment 3: Stereochemistry This lab consisted of formulating a mechanism by which dimethyl maleate (cis confirmation) could be isomerized to dimethyl fumarate (trans confirmation) by heat, light, or bromine. In order to investigate chemical properties of when the molecule is in a chiral vs. achiral environment, enantiomers of carvones were compared. Enantiomers and diastereomers are the two classes of stereoisomers. Stereoisomers are molecules that have the same chemical formula, but differ in their three dimensional arrangement in space. Enantiomers are mirror images of each other that are non superimposable. In an achiral enviroment, they do not rotate plane polarized light with the same ability, but they exhibit the same physical and chemical properties. In a chiral enviroment, enantiomers show different reactions with other molecules. The configuration of the enantiomer is what determines the direction that it will rotate light. Light will either be rotated to the left or to the right. Most enantiomers produced in a lab have a value of zero as their net rotation of plane polarized light value and end up being in a 50:50 racemic mixture. Diasteromers are when two molecules have equivalent stereocenters, but are not mirror images of each other. The molecules have different chemical and physical properties. The S (+) Caravone and the R( ) Caravone enantiomers were used in the first part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Is The Theme Of Psychology In Lord Of The Flies In the movie Lord of the Flies, a group of boys become stranded on an island and have to survive until someone comes to rescue them. Though they may seem like innocent school boys at first, many of them soon regress into a barbaric way of life becoming hunters . With the island split in two, the themes of personality theory, aggression, and adolescence become more prevalent. Focusing on Ralph, Piggy, Jack and Simon, we can further delve into these topics. In class, we studied Sigmund Freud s personality theory; the Id, ego, and superego combine to create the behavior of humans. The Id is an unconscious part of our personalities that work to satisfy our basic urges, needs and desires. In the movie, Jack, the leader of the hunters , is a perfect representation of the Id. He is obsessed with hunting and killing, which are instinctual and primal. He and his group accidentally kill Simon thinking he is a monster. Even though it was an accident, Jack shows no remorse. Later on, his group purposely killed Piggy and again, he shows no remorse. He reasons that everything he is doing is in order for him and his group to survive and is necessary. Instead of cheering up the younger boys, he says You better start learning to live with yourself, because we ain t gonna get rescued (Lord of the Flies). He sets in everyone s, except Ralph and Piggy s, minds that they have to be in survival mode. Throughout the whole production, Jack was the human representation of the minds Id. ... His narrative flow builds up tension in the reader as the story continues, he uses transitional warning signs to convey his next line. Erik Larson differentiates and adds similarities between Daniel Hudson Burnham and Henry H. Holmes, the architect and the murderer. To begin with, Daniel Hudson Burnham was best known for being one of the greatest architects in Chicago, New York, Washington, San Francisco, and Manila. He was an achiever For example, on page 33 it states, By traditional architectural standards the challenge seemed an impossible one. The management of the supply chain involves the efforts of all partners in the supply chain working together to effectively and efficiently deliver goods (Handfield, R, 20011). Supply chain standards that are shared globally throughout industries results in methods and rules that allows predictability, and agreed standard and guidelines. To maintain a business, supply chain management needs strong certainties on the everyday action of the business from all accomplices in the supply chain. To spare cost and convey more products to more destinations quicker, a business and their suppliers must have an institutionalized supply chain. • 7. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Insomnia Essay As a kid all I would want to do is pull all nighters , now all I want is to actually have one good night s sleep, or at least half a night s sleep. For those who are completely oblivious to what insomnia is it is characterized as a persistent lack of sleep, but those who have insomnia know that it is so much more than just a lack of sleep. For instance, there are actually different types of insomnia that are categorized by how long you stay awake, if lack of sleep last less than a week then it is considered Transient Insomnia, if it last one to three weeks its Short Term Insomnia, and if it last longer than three weeks it s called Chronic Insomnia. I myself suffer from insomnia, and my symptoms would usually last one to two weeks so I have Short Term Insomnia. Now I didn t know I had any problems till I was about seven years old, up till then I just thought I was a hyper energetic kid who just wants to stay up. Before I was diagnosed with insomnia I was a energetic kid who was always enthusiastic about everything, but as I grew older and school became more demanding I would be tired after school but I knew there was no way I could go to sleep still and I couldn t understand why. • 9. Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Comparison The movie Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, directed by Kenneth Branagh may be the most accurate depiction of such a prestigious work of art in Mary Shelley s novel titled Frankenstein. The movie encompasses the themes that Shelley set out to exhibit in her own novel in a mirror like fashion except for the reason it is being portrayed on the big screen rather than on paper. In addition to the messages being displayed in the film and novel being alike, the storylines were almost identical. The movie even included the highly beneficial frame story with Robert Walton and his crew and their travelings to the North Pole. Lastly, the actors and props within the movie could not have done a better job of portraying the feelings of the characters and the setting of this well known story. ... For example, in the novel the dangers of knowledge are demonstrated when Victor Frankenstein uses his own knowledge to create a monster which ends up being dangerous to all of humanity. However at the conclusion of the novel, after Robert Walton understands what knowledge can do, he still leads his crew in pursuit to the North Pole for knowledge. Now, the film portrays the exact line of events except when Walton discovers what knowledge can do, instead of ignoring it, he turns his ship around for the safety of himself and his crew. This may be even more effective to a reader or observer understanding the theme, witnessing a character realize the unfortunate events of another character and making better decisions for themselves. • 11. The Impact Of Mass Media On Children Mental health problems have been affecting nearly every society in some way, shape, or form for as long as we can remember. According to the World Health Organization, approximately one million people die from suicide every year (Schaefer, 2018, p. 6). Durkheim also noted that the suicide rate in a society reflects how well the people were integrated in the society (Schaefer, 2018, p. 7). The problem that I want to focus on revolves around how marketing to children teaches them values, like material objects and money, that will eventually lead to higher rates of anxiety and depression at an earlier age. It is known that the mass media strongly influences kids ages 12 to 17, but the age at which kids gain access to technology is starting to decline (Schaefer, 2018, p. 90). Gradually, we can see how the media has an overwhelming effect on the youth from the way children think about their future and their career path to the way that they play. This is directly observed in a nationwide survey of incoming college freshmen which shows that values having to do with money and power rose from 42 percent in 1966 to 82 percent in 2015 (Schaefer, 2018, p. 63). If corporations constantly promote the idea that having more things will lead to happiness, then when kids can t have those things they start to believe that they can t be happy without them. DNA profiling was first described in 1984 by Alec Jeffreys, a geneticist at the University of Leicester in Britain (Aronson, 7). Dr. Jeffreys found that the genes that have no function, called junk DNA is where most of the variation is used for DNA profiling (Aronson 9). This region contains DNA sequences that repeat over and over again. Alec Jeffreys determined that the number of repeated sections at different locations vary from individual to individual (DNA Initiative). Consequently these repetitive regions became known as variable number of tandem repeats or VNTR s. RFLP or restriction fragment length polymorphisms became the first scientifically accepted DNA analysis method in the United States (Jones). The repeat segments are cut out of the DNA strand by a restrictive enzyme that acts like scissors and the resulting fragments are sorted out by electrophoresis (Saferstein 391). However, there are some drawbacks using the RFLP method in the forensic science community. The RFLP technique requires a large amount of DNA and must be of high quality and cannot be degraded (Jones). Forensic scientists and the law enforcement community ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Voter Registration And Voter Id Laws Recently state and federal legislators have been discussing voter identification laws, also known as voter ID laws. This issue is controversial because it can lead states to deny voters a vote without an approved ID. On one hand, some supporters of ID laws argue that these laws are preventing criminals from committing fraud. From this perspective, the laws are protecting the value of a vote and what it means to actually participate in an election vote. On the other hand, however, people argue that by placing the restriction on voting it is impeding the people constitutional rights much like a poll tax. Opponents also claim that by enforcing an ID law it is creating a poll tax similar to the ones created to prevent the African American people from voting. A poll tax is a specific amount a person is charged before being able to place a vote; the comparison between a poll tax and a driver s license fee is like comparing apples and oranges, when getting a driver s license a person is using their license as their main form of ID. The Japanese company is not willing to release the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in America because Atari rules a large part of the market. Instead, they decide to offer Atari the rights to release the product in the U.S. The plans fall through and we do not see Nintendo until 1985. Consoles galore!!! Within his speech, he uses the three rhetorical appeals (ethos, logos, and pathos) to convey a feeling of urgency toward the changes occurring in policy within the Americas implemented by the British government. He cleverly uses these appeals to disrupt the paradigm that Great Britain is going to let the American people have any liberty. Principal Difference Between Apollonius And Jesus Ehrman s first argument delves into the history of so called divine beings , particularly in ancient Greece and Rome, to help his argument, as he claims that Jesus was not the first, and certainly not the only, divine being in history, saying that We should not think of Jesus as unique , if by that term we mean that he was the only one like that that is.....a man who was also in some sense divine (Ehrman 17). Ehrman s first example is Apollonius, a man whose story is very similar to Jesus. According to Ehrman, the birth of Apollonius came with divine signs from the heavens, and as an adult, he left home, traveling and preaching, collecting followers and performing miracles, and leading his followers to believe that he was the Son of God. Later, like Jesus, he too angered the Roman authorities and was put to death, though he allegedly ascended to heaven afterwards. However, the principal difference between Apollonius and Jesus was that Apollonius was a pagan, a worshiper of multiple Roman gods, who was seen by some as a competitor of Jesus, though historically, Jesus and his followers rose victorious, due to the spread of Christianity, and Apollonius remains all but forgotten to today s society. However, it wasn t just holy men who could come to be revered as divine, according to Ehrman, as he moves on to talk about how Roman emperors were often revered as gods. He then creates animals in the same way he created the man and the man names all the animals (ESV Gen 2:7 20). In Death, and Life and Death, the god Alatangana consolidates the earth from mud, creates plants to cover the earth, and then creates animals to live on it ( Death, and Life and Death ). The creating power in Genesis 1 is referred to as God (ESV Gen 1:1 31; 2:1 3). What s interesting is that in Genesis 2, each time the creating power is referenced; he is referred to as the Lord God (ESV Gen. 2:4 25). Christians believe that God and the Lord God are the same being, but it s interesting that they aren t described with the same name. Each month the car sales share of the market slips a bit (NPR, 2016). This means that sales of your average car are starting to slip. If you pay attention while driving down the road you may notice this. I believe there are several reasons why this is starting to be the case. SUVs and Crossover vehicles sit higher than an average commuter or luxury car. They tend to have more space inside for passengers and cargo. They are starting to rival the fuel economy of cars. This is especially true if a person has to commute long distances to work. A new study by TrueCar.com finds tooling around in a small SUV is no longer that wasteful. The sales weighted fuel economy average is only 2 miles per gallon apart (26.83 mpg SUV vs. 28.84 mpg sedan) SUV owners typically will pay only another $3 more tankful to fill up their SUV compared to a sedan. (USA Today, 2015). Granted those numbers are for a Crossover, However manufactures like Nissan and RAM Trucks are starting to place small diesel engines in half ton trucks in order to gain fuel economy without sacrificing payload capability. RAM is claiming to make up to 29 MPG with their small diesel (I was not able to find fuel economy numbers for the Nissan engine). So it is likely fair to assume that it is only a matter of time before traditional SUVs get engines of that type. Height is also an apparent factor in the purchase of these vehicles. People reportedly like the fact that they sit higher than an average car. It gives people the feeling that they have command of the road .
