Health Care And Affordable Care Act
In 2010, Congress enacted the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in order to increase
the number of Americans covered by health insurance and decrease the cost of health care
(Supreme Court Opinion, 1). In America, it is a basic necessity to possess health care, logically,
Congress would like to make such a necessity more accessible to Americans. Due to a divided
government, there are variant views on whether this is necessary and just. Health care benefits
all Americans; it is just a matter of if the policy of a required national health care is beneficial.
Under the Affordable Care Act, the scope of the Medicaid program was expanded and the number
of individuals the States must cover was increased . If states do not abide by... Show more content

16 27. By regulating the State s commerce, Congress is limiting what States really need to
satisfy, their residents. Each state is different, and so are their residents. Simply enforcing a
standard cookie cutter health plan forces States to ignore their previous needs, and budgetary
challenges; Each state should be able to develop solutions that meet its specific needs (Robert E.
Moffit, Ph. D). Not only do states desire their unique health care for themselves, but for their
citizens as well. Although the ACA is arguably for the public good, only a certain class desires
such a health care, not every citizen. Yet, if citizens refuse this health care, a penalty is imposed.
The payment is not so high that there is really no choice but to buy health insurance; the payment
is not limited to willful violations, as penalties for unlawful acts often are; and the payment is
collected solely by the IRS through the normal means of taxation . (Supreme Court Opinion) Yet,
a payment can be major for those who: do not have the means to pay for it, and disagree with the
health care plan. Also, the new law adds a number of health care services that insurers must cover
and in some cases restricts the ability of insurers and employer self insured health plans to impose
limits on the amount of services patients can consume. This combination will drive up health plan
costs and premiums for both individual insurance and employer group coverage (Edmund F.
Haislmaier). Yet,

Why Does Evolution Happen
The theory of evolution is a change over time to help the species survive due to natural selection.
(survival of the fit) I believe that evolution and change over time does happen, but it happened
after a creation. I will use the evidence to describe why evolution happens and how it happens.
Adaptation is the act of changing the way you look or the way you act in order to survive and
reproduce. Physical change is a type of adaptation. An example of a physical adaptation is the size
of the finches beaks, or the whale s nostrils turning into a blow hole. Next, behavioral change is the
other type of adaptation. Whales used to be land animals, but eventually changed their behavior and
became water animals so they could find food. Evolution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The whales couldn t find any food on land so they adapted their behavior and eventually the way
they look to survive in water. Each couple million years the fossils change. Whales started off
looking sort of like a wolf. Then, after a while their back bone started to change. At one point
whales almost looked like a seal. () Whales over time lost most of their fur, changed from paws
to webbed feet to fins, and their nostrils changed into a blow hole. Whales probably adapted
early on because some of them were dying off of they needed food so they went in the water to
hunt some fish. They were most likely successful at this so they continued to do this, and evolved
to make it easier. Whale evolution supports the theory of evolution because you can see the fossils,
and how they changed. Also, you see the fossil record and timeline of the organisms. Because of
this you see what they looked like, where they lived, and how the adapted. Scientists can make a
fossil record of whales because of the rock layers and fossil record. The law of superposition says
that any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, which means scientists can look at
those layers to create a fossil record. You can use absolute and relative dating to find the age of any
fossil. Scientists used half life of some type of chemical to find the absolute age of a whale fossil.
Also, they looked at fossils and whale relatives to find relative age, like some

Nonprofit co packer increases business with help from intuitive printer
Co packers provide supplemental personnel, production space and project management for
manufacturers that need expert help for quick turnaround projects, short runs or overflow

Plus, if the printhead requires any cleaning, the printer s self diagnostic and self cleaning process
takes only three to four minutes, minimizing downtime on the production line.
New equipment meets customer demand
Within IGE s 175,500 square foot facility, the company has two 10 foot assembly lines to
package two bowls of cheese dip into a double pack chipboard box. The individual bowls of
cheese shipped from the Berner facility were already coded with the freshness date. Then IGE
used the Videojet 1510 printer to place identical freshness dates on the chipboard packaging.
Since each bowl displays a freshness date, the chipboard packaging must display both dates,
requiring two lines of code if the dates are different on each bowl. The dates needed to be visible
on the box because they are used to track the cheese dip throughout the supply chain, and to indicate
the expiration date to the consumer.
Initially, we switched our single Videojet printer to different lines to keep up with the demand
created by the two packaging assignments, Miller says. The printer is compact and convenient to
move, so when we used one printer to accommodate both lines, changeover took only three or four
minutes which is really important to eliminate downtime. Eventually, we decided to get a second
Videojet printer so we could run both the single and double packaging projects simultaneously.

Cretaceous-Triassic Extinction Research Paper
An extinction event (also known as a mass extinction or biotic crisis) is a widespread and rapid
decrease in the amount of life on Earth. It occurs when the rate of extinction increases with respect
to the rate of speciation. Extinction occurs at an uneven rate.
The most recent and debatably best known, the Cretaceous Paleogene extinction event, which
occurred approximately 66 million years ago (Ma), was a large scale mass extinction of animal and
plant species in a geologically short period of time.
It is now generally believed that the K Pg extinction was triggered by a massive comet or asteroid
impact 66 million years ago and its catastrophic effects on the global environment, including a
lingering impact winter that made it impossible for plants and plankton to carry out photosynthesis.

The Car T Cells Essay
What are CAR T cells? Describe their structure.
Car T cells are more formally known as chimeric antigen receptors. These cells are genetically
modified t cells that are designed to target tumor cells. These CAR t cells work by circulating
through the blood looking for cells that they can bind to. The receptors of these cells are
specifically designed to recognize a pattern that is common cancer. Once they cell comes into
contact with the specific receptor, cell will then attack and destroy the cancer, but also can tell
the rest of the body that there is a problem. The additional hope is that the CAR T cells will
create memory cells within the body as a normal T cell. In the simplest explanation, CAR T cells
are genetically modified to attack cells the body would otherwise not recognize.
These cells are recombinant receptors that have been developed specifically for this purpose.
These CARs are usually composed of an extracellular antigen recognition receptor that is attached
by a spacer to a transmembrane domain. Around these transmembrane domains could be
additional domains that function as co stimulator to produce a further immune response. In a
normal t cell, there is a requirement of an MHC molecule to bind and recognize the antigen,
however, the CAR T cells are capable of overcoming the limitation. So CAR T cells are able to
bind directly and independent of this system allowing the cell to read a much diverse pool.
How are they generated for clinical use?

A dreamer, an inventor, and above all, Thomas Edison was an ambitious and ruthless businessman
who manifested the deep determination to take over the electricity market. Edison s portrayal in
Moran s book The Executioner s Current holds much more realistic and in depth aspects of his
personality, than shown in the short excerpt, They Transformed the World pertaining to America s

did indeed accomplish his mission of alerting the public, and it was not about to end.
After receiving the attention of the public due to the speech, Edison published a pamphlet entitled
A Warning from the Edison Electric Company . This red pamphlet included attacks on
competitors such as Westinghouse, who Edison claimed was a patent violator. (Moran 58) Edison

It was the New York Board of Health s conclusion that the only way to light safely by electricity
was to control, by ordinance, the strength of the current. 1 (Moran 58) Edison manipulated the
public to think that by using by the AC power it would succumb to death due to the dangerous

Research Paper On Taoism
Immortality does not mean living forever in the present physical body. In Taoism, death is just the
final step in achieving complete unity with the universe when Taoist draws closer and closer to
nature throughout their life. Taoism has a goal to raise the immortal practise to a higher level
which is spiritual immortality. To attain it, people have to transform all their qi into primordial qi
and proceed to refine it to subtler levels. This finer qi will eventually turn into pure spirit, with
which practitioners increasingly identify to become transcendent spirit people. To achieve this,
intensive meditation and trance training as well as more radical forms of diet and other longevity
practices are needed. Immortality implies the overcoming of the natural tendencies of the body and
its transformation into a different kind of qi constellation. It is a bypassing of death so that the end
of the body has no impact on the continuation of the spirit person. In addition, practitioners attain
super sensory powers and eventually gain residence in wondrous otherworldly paradises (Kohn
2005).
Taoism is a polytheist religion. Taoists believes that the universe is divided into human being and
gods. The latter is further divided into gods and ghosts. Each kind of god has ... Show more content

Kentucky was the state in where school finance system was relied heavily on local property tax

between wealth and poor districts. Kentucky Educational Reform Act seeks to address the problem
of unconstitutionality by bringing lawsuits against state from 66 Kentucky schooldistricts where

there were little criticism on KERA from anti tax citizens and organization concerning against state

educational system in Kentucky public schools, KERA acted as systemic reform and adequacy

everything at once from school governance, curriculum and finance system.
Kentucky had higher proportion of population who are in poverty than any other states except the
five states and Kentucky had weak education system in which 69% of the citizens in Kentucky

president of the Council for Better Education and Carnegie Foundation characterized the Kentucky
education as crumbling because they saw that the half of teachers teaching subjects unqualified to

Hunter V Moss Criticisms Essay
Certainty of subject matter and the critcisms of hunter v moss
When creating an express trust knight and knight articulated that there must be certainty of subject
matter, certainty of intention and certainty of objects.
Certainty of subject matter is where there must be an identification of the trust property and
certainty as to whom is which part of the trust property to be held. In relation to uncertainty of
beneficial interests, the trust will fail where the method of distribution is stipulated by the sethlow
but cannot take effect (Boyce v Boyce). However the trust will not fail where the method of

Oliver J articulated the orthodox approach or rule in re London wine where property must be
segregated form a lager mass of similar property for there to be a valid trust he said To create a
trust it must be possible to ascertain with certainty not only what the interest of the beneficiary is
to be but to what property it is to attach. The mere declaration that a given number of animals out
of the flock would be held on trust would not create a trust .
This approach was followed in re Goldcorp which affirmed that property must be separately
identifiable before it can be held on a valid trust.
The contention arose with Hunter v Moss which did not follow the orthodox approach where
Hunter was entitled 50 out of moss s 1000 shares. Under the Goldcorp rule there would be no
trust because the property was not separated however Dillon J said there was a valid trust. The
rationale for this controversial decision was that it would have made no difference which 50
shares would have been given because they were all identical. So here there was no need to
segregate the property if it was intangible.
The problem with this case is that Dillon is giving the trustee of the will who only has legal title
subject to the terms of the trust an executor status, i.e. putting him in the shoes of the sethlow. This
is a problem because the executor acquires legal

Wellcome Merger Case Study
In this individual discussion post, a review of the acquisition of Wellcome by Glaxo is explored
with focus on the complexities of Wellcome s business structure with Promedico. Additional focus
is placed on Ofra Sherman, manager of Wellcome Israel, as to her history with the company, team
interactions, reporting chain, and her reactions to the pending acquisition.
Glaxo Wellcome merger
Through a hostile bid for control, Glaxo announced in 1995 its plan to create the world s largest
pharmaceutical company with the acquisition of Wellcome. Wellcome was known as an antiviral
specialist and had ranked between tenth and twentieth worldwide in revenue (Jick Peiperl, 2011,
p. 348). The Wellcome employees felt secure in their position in this industry that had seen many
takeovers and mergers with assurances from Wellcome Trust, holder of 40 percent of the firm s
shares, that the holding was secure and would not be sold without advance communication.
Communication of the acquisition did not occur however and the bid came as a complete surprise
to the Wellcome employees who felt betrayed by the decision. Details of the acquisition should
have been originally shared by Wellcome Trust as promised, but now should be done by Glaxo as
the CEO, Sir Richard Sykes, assured Wellcome CEO, John Robb, Wellcome managementwould
play a role in the acquisition including job placement. This is an important aspect of any
acquisition as the lack of or ineffective communication strains the employer employee relationship
during such time and reduces personnel morale (Bansal, 2017, p. 421). Of particular importance to
both companies should be discussion and strategy as to how Glaxo would partner Wellcome Israel
with their existing Israel distributor, CTS.
Ofra Sherman s actions
Ms. Sherman was conflicted by the situation before her with the acquisition and had no answers
to the many questions leaving her with a sense of loss of control. As noted by Jick and Peiperl
(2011), most individual s negative reaction to change is related to control and a threat to their
influence, surroundings, pride, and accustomed way of working (p. 337). She had built a successful
team delivering results and was concerned with her team s

Risk Based Portfolio Construction Methods
Risk Based Portfolios
In this section, Lee Wai (2001) briefly explained characteristics of the four well known risk based
portfolio construction methods Equally Weighted Portfolio, Global Mean Variance Portfolio, Most
Diversified Portfolio, and Risk Contribution Portfolio.
First, the equally weighted portfolio is the simplest portfolio construction approach that gives all
assets same weights (Lee, 2011). Lee described the portfolio as the most heuristic portfolio because
it completely ignores the return and risk relationship of investments. Lee also argued that equal
weighting of assets does not guarantee diversification since this strategy does not have any
consideration of correlation among assets. This is the complete and undeniable truth. As we have
learned from the investment and financial theory courses, some of assets have close relationship
that can be estimated by covariance between assets.
Second, the global minimum variance portfolio (GMV) is a unique portfolio on a portfolio frontier
since it has the lowest volatility (Lee, 2011). Lee explained that although the marginal contribution
to risk of all assets in the GMV is identical, this does not mean risk contributions of each asset is
equal because of the different weights and volatilities of assets in the portfolio. Moreover, the
GMV tends to have high weights on low volatility assets in order to lower the total volatility of the
portfolio. As a result, the GMV portfolio can be more sensitive to the

When Elizondo finally arrived at Tepeyac he felt like everything was sort of in slow motion and

Variable pay is a way to reward employees for contributions to organizations goals and dangle a

Variable pay is a type of pay for performance plan that was once used for executive employees, but
is now used to award employees at all levels, also considered merit pay. Merit pay increases are
universal and are separate from cost of living adjustment. Merit increase is typically based on an
employees performance and once determined becomes part of the base pay.
Team based rewards are based on the team outcomes or accomplishment and can include noncash
rewards such as trips, time off, or luxury items.
Company wide rewards are based on the entire performance of the company. This is usually in the
form of profit sharing.
Progressive companies are using variable pay more as the workforce compensation, thus ensuring
when employees prosper the company prospers. This is yet to be proven especially in the recent

Hebrews In Babylonia
(1) What events lead to the exile of the Hebrews in Babylonia? To the Hebrew people, their exile
to Babylonia and the destruction of the First Temple was brought on because they had displeased
Yahweh by not following his laws and by not living a lifestyle devoted to him. Once the Hebrews
reached the land of Canaan, division splintered them into eleven tribes, but with war constantly
occurring in the neighboring nations, the Israelitessoon realized they had to unite if the Jewish
people and religion were going to survive: The eleven Hebrew tribes were united under one king.
The Kingdom of Israelprospered for a short time and under the rule of King David and the aid of
his son Solomon the First Temple was constructed as a home for Yahweh. But when Solomon died,
the Kingdom of Israel splintered again into the northern and southern kingdoms. This factoring left
both kingdoms weakened and in 721 BCE Assyria invaded, took control, and destroyed the northern
kingdom of Israel, and a century later the weakened southern kingdom was invaded by the
Babylonians. The Babylonians... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of Satan is linked to the Babylonian Exile/Captivity due to the influences that
Babylonian culture had on the Hebrew people. This includes the evil spirits and demons in
Babylonian belief and resentment towards Babylonians for the destruction of the First
Temple/ the exile of the Hebrews in Babylonia. Satan is an evil spirit who fights against god and
his people, belief in him and his stance against god stems from the mistreatment of the
Jewish people by Babylonians which was seen as a stance the Babylonians took against Yahweh.
The religion of the conquering people also influenced the idea of Satan in Judaism and is evident by
the similarities that Babylonian evil spirits share with the many depictions of Satan in Jewish belief.

wasted electricity cost a lot of money. We produce too much waste and we need to reduce this
and recycle whatever we can. And let s not forget about environment. Much of our waste ends up
in landfill sites. As the waste breaks down, it gives off carbon emissions, which is bad for the

Co rumination is a common occurrence among friends. It is an easy strategy to fall back on in order
to try to cope with distress. In the moment it may feel like a form of stress relief, however, it
prolongs negative cognitions and emotions leading to increased levels of internalizing symptoms.
Co rumination does however, have the benefit of increasing friendship quality among co ruminators
as it helps build intimacy, understanding, and trust among the pair. Despite this common
understanding, studies have revealed some conflicting results, suggesting that there are moderators

current interest in what has come to be called multicultural literature has focused critical

Cats Obligate Carnivores
Meat sits at the center of feline nutrition.
Cats are obligate carnivores.
Obligate carnivores are distinct from other predators because they absolutely must consume meat.
For them, meat isn t just a part of a varied diet. It s a biological necessity. From lions to ocelots to
domestic shorthairs, all cats are obligate carnivores. Other animals classified as obligate carnivores
are dolphins, sea lions, ferrets, and mink.
Because of their ancestral raw meat diets provided them, cats cannot produce certain meat sourced
amino acids and vitamins. They re physically incapable of making them in their own bodies, but
they need them nevertheless. The only way for them to get the nutrients they require is through
eating meat.

cat foods are pumped up with synthetic nutrients. It s the only way they can satisfy those nutrient
requirements.
But meat is expensive and corn is cheap. Rice and potatoes are also cheap.
So they tend to show up in cat food more often than the real meat nourishment that your obligate

One day I asked my dad to go canoeing. I had never gone canoeing before but I was trying new
things and canoeing sounded intriguing. My dad told me he hadn t been canoeing for over 47
years. I asked him why and he suddenly got quiet like he was trying to think of something to say.
Eventually he just said he didn t like it anymore. I thought that was the end of the story because
we never did go canoeing that day. A few days later my dad came up to me and said there was
something he wanted to tell me. He seemed off edge and had been acting unusual the last couple
of days. Eventually, he spoke up and said that he would go canoeing with me. Once we got in the
water with the canoe, me sitting in front and my dad steering in the back, he started to tell me a
story. He felt bad for not taking me sooner but he felt that I wasn t ready to hear what he was
about to tell me. It was a story he had never told anyone before, and it was quite intriguing. He
started off saying that he forgot the ending but he knew how it at least started so he decided to tell
me that at least. It went a little bit like this:
He slithered up the muddy slope, slipping on the moss and mud. Canoes parked on the edge of the
river. He had never been so scared in his life. He might ve been climbing to what would eventually
become a major injury or possibly death, but in his eyes, it was all worth it. It had been at least a

The Statue Of The Goddess Sekhmet Analysis
Mistress of peace and of the war cry. Lady of heaven, queen of the gods Great Mut. Creator.
Protector. Lady of joy. Cobra of dread. The vigilant mistress of Karnak. Mighty ruler in her
Theban temple. She whose spirit exists because her temple endures. She whose temple and city
will exist for millions of years 1. This writing comes from a hymn on a stela praising Mut. This
stela praising one of the prominent goddesses of Egypt shows the great praise and proclamations
given to their religious figures. Another such example of Egypt s adoration for their gods is in the
statue of Sekhmet, one of the many other statues found at the Temple of Mut. The statue stands as
another representation of not only Egypt s growing religious movements, but of the growing artistic
movements in sculpting as well and the appreciation the higher powers of Egyptians had on their
gods and religion.
The Statue of the Goddess Sekhmet is currently held at the Royal Ontario Museum in the Ancient
Egypt exhibit with the inventory number, 2007. 68. 1. The statue depicts a woman with the head
of a lion, the goddess Sekhmet herself, sitting on a throne and has a broken off muzzle due to
age. The figure sits rigidly on top of a throne, a common depiction of some of the important gods
of Egypt. Originally the statue had held an ankh but had broken off due to age. It was sculpted out
of black granite and stands at 184 centimetres.
The statue was built during the New Kingdom specifically the 18th dynasty

story I will give the assumption that you are familiar with the story and world. As I watched the
movies and read the books of Lord of the rings, I have noticed many things that were changed and
deleted from the original story. most changes that were made ranged from small to large. Out of
all of these changes I have seen one that stuck out the most and that is the personality of the
hobbits and other characters. In the books the hobbits are portrayed as very level headed and very

this would make the story itself very different depending how you chose to learn the it, either by

meaning there is a lot of suspense build up since there are many characters that you don t know the

the movie series more interesting as it follows all the characters at once keeping the audience s

expected of most movie adaptations of books) I personally enjoyed both renditions of the story. I

Before he was twelve he had obtained a slight knowledge of Latin and Greek language masters
from a priest in Hampshire. Pope also received other masters from a school in Twyford near
Winchester, Thomas Deane School in Marylebone, and later Hyde Park Corner.
Between the age of twelve and seventeen there were a lot of applications for pope to study. During
the process it weakened his health, and he developed tuberculosis of the spine which left him
crippled and harmed his view of life in so many ways. Pope then thought of himself dying, but a
friend Thomas Southcott, gave him advice about a famous physician named John Radcliffe, which
he prescribed a diet and exercise. Under this treatment the boy recovered his strength and spirits. He

Types Of Plants And Insect Herbivores Influence Community...
Nutrient availability, plants, and insect herbivores influence community structure and function both
aboveground and belowground, but it is unclear whether these factors are independent or
interdependent (Wright et al. 2014). Ehrlich and Raven (1964) used butterflies as a model organism
to examine coevolution between closely interacting organisms, specifically between plants and
insect herbivores. Ehrlich and Raven (1964) noted that structural and mechanical characteristics of
plants have the potential to modify these relationships. Additionally, many plants produce
secondary metabolic compounds, which may act as repellents to insects and correlate with the
presence of nutrients. The chemical composition of plants may change with age, exposure to
sunlight, or other environmental factors, and changes in chemical composition may influence the
attraction or repulsion of insects to plants (Ehrlich and Raven 1964). According to the study,
secondary plantsubstances played an integral role in determining patterns of plant utilization by
various speciesof butterflies, as well for other phytophagous and parasitic insect groups. Through
mutations and recombination, plants were able to produce chemical compounds not directly related
to their metabolic pathways. Ehrlich and Raven (1964) noted that some of these compounds
appeared to reduce the palatability of the plant. The abundance of phytophagous insects in the
tropics may accentuate the rate at which these interactions between

`` Gulliver s Travels `` By Jonathan Swift
By definition, dystopian texts are texts which take place in a futuristic, imagined universe in which
oppressive societal control and the illusion of a perfect society are maintained through corporate,
bureaucratic, technological, moral, or totalitarian control. Throughout the last two to three hundred
years, dystopian themes have been present in major, widely circulated texts, with the earliest
listed dystopian text, Jonathan Swift s Gulliver s Travels , dating back to 1726. And, while the
1800 s saw a good influx of dystopian texts, the first to catch my eye, and really grab hold of my
attention wasn t published until 1949: George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four. Since the publication
of George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four near two... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a main theme from George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four , in which the main character,
Winston (and presumably, all other inhabitants of Oceania), lives in a home equipped with a
telescreen (what we, today, would liken a television or computer monitor, equipped with a
webcam). Through the telescreen, messages could be displayed to the resident, but everything
happening inside the home could also be seen and heard by Big Brother . To someone for whom
the concept of Big Brother is foreign (as is the case with the Big Brother housemates or with
Winston in the book Nineteen Eighty Four), having this telescreen or any other source through
which you can be monitored without your knowledge or consent, can be very unsettling.
The novel Nineteen Eighty Four really gave people something to think about. What might the world
turn into, if dictators or tyrannical governments rose up and took hold of society? Could it ever be
possible that the government might have such a hold on their citizens that thoughts could be
controlled, and lies could be twisted into believeable truths? These are all questions that Orwell s
Nineteen Eighty Four raised.
The impact that Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four has had on the literary genre of dystopian texts is
undoubtable. The novel paved the way for many other s like it. As a text, Orwell s Nineteen
Eighty Four followed a set of rules for what a dystopian text needed to be. It included an

Compare And Contrast Early Birds And Night Owls
I am an early bird give me a job:
Well it is very essential that all of us drive out a balance between our biological clock and the
ticking clock, that decides our day to day activities. However, before this, we first need to identify
our biological clock.
There are too many comparisons made between early birds and night owls. You may find some,
that advocate for early birds; while, some say night owls are blessed with additional talents.
However, I believe that both these sections of people, belonging to different chronotype, possess
different potentialities. However, when they are working at their peak hours where they can remain
completely alert and energetic; only then they can perform at highest efficiency levels.
Hope you have identified that balance and know your biological clock. For those who are still

Postal Service mail carrier:

These professionals start quite early each day as they need to arrange mails according to the
shortest route they can opt for. Once they are done with deciding their route and arranging
consignments, they go out to deliver them and usually end their day s work by noon.
Barista and Bakers:
Almost 9 out of 10 individuals start their day with a cup of coffee and a freshly baked pan cake.
Pastry makers or bakers work around the 24 hour clock. They can sit up late at night to prepare
confectioneries that are served after supper or early mornings. Well this serves as a job
opportunity for night owls. However, you as a morning person can also start at dawn to prepare the
same bakery items that get served at breakfast time or lunch

Goodnight Kane Monologue
I ve just claimed back my life and yes, I am opening my heart to Kane, but is it love? I don t
know. Love leaves me vulnerable, open to pain and disappointment and inevitably loss. I can t go
through that again, I won t.
Pulling the covers to my chest, I roll to my side. Goodnight Kane, I say as I fight the urge to run
for my bike.
****
The rising sun nudges my eyes open. Damn, I hate mornings. I keep forgetting to close the freaking
curtains at night and I pay for it with every sunrise.
The searing light has no apparent effect on Kane s ability to sleep. I carefully unwind my body
from his embrace and leave him to it.
Pushing away the thoughts of Kane s avowal of love last night, I take a quick shower and look
through the limited choices of clothing I have. I throw on my best pair of jeans, which basically

I pour two cups of coffee just as Kane comes barreling out of the bedroom, his soft, worn jeans
riding low on his hips, the top button left undone. He looks sexy as hell with his tousled hair and
bare chest. I grin as the look of concern on his face lifts to a smile when he finds me in the kitchen.
Damn, just one look at Kane and my panties are ready to drop to the floor. No one has ever

Freud s Theory Of Instincts And The Individual Psyche
In Sigmund Freud s Civilization and its Discontents , we are introduced to a new outlook in the
way we view our lives due to his analysis of civilization and how it has affected our happiness.
Freud uses his theory of instincts in order to explain what encourages us as well as how our
behavior is all linked together and is motivated by our instincts. He explains why humans seek
happiness and how it is one of the toughest things to achieve. Towards the end of his book he also
gives an insight on how the individual psyche which consist of the id, ego, and super egoleads us to

The pleasure principles goal is to avoid pain, which Freud later states it is not always a good thing
because the longer things follow the pleasure principle the happiness received begins to decrease
and no longer has the same affect. Overall, this makes it harder for individuals to stay happy. Along
with the pleasure principle, Freud states there are three main things that also make us unhappy
which are our body, the external world, and our relations with others. And out of all these three, the
worst comes from our relations with others, we hurt one another more than anything else on earth.
Freud states, happiness ... is a problem of the economics of the individual s libido libido meaning
sexual desires, he demonstrates how an individual s sexual desires and being able to fulfill them
leads them to their happiness. At the same time, Freud s use of libido can also represent a
person s desires and pleasures as a whole and not limiting itself to sexual pleasure. Libido
connects to Freud s theory of instincts. Freud believes that our instincts influence our behavior,
and our behavior is caused by our desires. Satisfaction of instinct spells happiness for us , this
implies that if our desires are satisfied, our behavior is better and we will be happy. However,
there seems to be a problem when it comes to Freud s theory of instincts and civilization. Freud
states that civilization

Rosalie Metaphors
The way this book is written tricks me up sometimes because it goes from talking in past tense to
the quotes being in present tense and she also refers to the readers. It was strange to read at first,
but once I got the hang of it the book was made more enjoyable because of it. Matilda seems to
be in the background the whole time. She is present, but in the background. She seems to like to
keep to herself and listened to her sister when Rosalie was around, but never makes large
impressions on Agnes. Rosalie on the other hand makes that huge impression, when she turns
back and gives Agnes that hug. I almost forgave her for messing with all those boys. It showed
to me that deep inside she does have a heart and cared about people. Then when Agnes gets that
letter from Rosalie I realized that she was always going to be a little bit of a brat. She, what I
took as, whined for Agnes to come and visit her. Then she went on to tall Agnes about her
charming child. I feel bad that her husband does not like that it was a girl, but technically it was
his fault. I feel bad for that child though. She is going to have to grow up with a brat of a motherand
probably become a brat herself because of it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for Agnes and her family. It made me want to cry. Then when they were talking about money it
made me feel horrible for them. I was proud of Agnes s mother for standing up to her father

Is The American Dream True Essay
The American Dream is an idea that was crucial to the foundation of the United states and what it
meant to be an American . This dream is the belief that anybody can come to America and have life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It also implies that everyone can have equal opportunities to
find success and independence. Though the perception of this dream has been warped throughout
time, the true
American dream of achieving one s own idea of happiness is still attainable today.
The idea of the American dream was first introduced in the Declaration of Independence, which
was written by the nation s founding fathers. They based the declaration and the foundation of
this country on the revolutionary idea that each person s desire to pursue happiness was not just
self indulgence (Amadeo). The idea that these desires are a part of the unalienable rights of life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These beliefs also founded the basic ideas for the American
dream. A dream of having the freedom to find happiness in whatever way each person defines it.

The Wannsee Conference
The final solution, as outline in the Wannsee Conference, was anything but vague. Until this point,
it wasn t officially outlined as to what the goal of the Nazi regime was. However, through the
displays of propaganda seen in previous stages thought this paper, it is clear what their intentions
were. The extent of the implementation, as discussed at the Wannsee conference, as outlined by
the Nazi regime was meant for the soul purpose of eliminating the Jews from German society,
whether that was by mass immigration, deportations, and/or killings. There are, of course, other
examples of this seen. One of these examples includes the form of newspapers such as Der

This both emphasizes the heavily enforced identification of Jews with yellow cloth or Stars of

Jewish separation by a governing entity in stage three. These two very early stages of genocide
have escalated into mass bouts of organized violence and you can still see the results of
propaganda on the yellow arm bands and stars on Jews clothing as they are driven to mass grave.
The rest of Graebe s account of the actual mass shooting is very detailed and vivid as he

A Comparison Of The Tanach And Bible
A Comparison of the Tanach and Bible
Each religion has a sacred text which is used to understand their worldview and their religion
better. A sacred text is what a religion believes is holy and authoritative. Religious texts show its
followers what to do in worship, daily living and conduct. While Christianity and Judaism have
numerous similarities because of the mother daughter link, differences still exist. The sacred text
for Judaism is the Tanach while for Christianity the Bible is used. This essay will explore the
structure of each sacred text, the type of literature is in each canon, authorship of the text and how
it is used in daily practice such as food, interpretation of the commandments and how a Torah is
used in a synagogue.
STRUCTURE OF EACH CANON
The Bible is known as authoritative written source (Bowley, 1999) and is a library of 66 books
and is made of two parts: Old Testament (39 books) and New Testament (27 books). The Bible
was only officially put together around the third century. The Old Testament was written in
Hebrew and Aramaic while the New Testament was written in Greek. During the Reformation,
scholars wanted to allow everyone to read the Bible in their own languages (Beck et al, 2000).
Now, the Bible is written in over 1600 languages. However, Jewish people only read the Torah in
Hebrew. The Old Testament is similar to the Torah where the books are exactly the same.
The New Testament is made up of the gospels and letters. The word

Healthcare Data Essay
A. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each of the following categories of healthcare
data: 1. aggregate data 2. comparative data 3. patient centric data When it comes to reviewing
healthcare data there are certain data categories an organization needs to keep in mind, those
categories include aggregate data, comparative data, and patient centric data. All of the
categories have advantages and disadvantages. In the following paragraphs I will list out the
advantage and disadvantages of the categories mentioned above. First, let us start with aggregate
data. Aggregate data can be used to detect patterns or similarities from numerous groups of
patients. This data helps healthcare organizations and healthcare providers develop a plan of
care or prevention of illnesses and a better understanding of how to properly manage a disease
process. With the use of aggregate data, vital signs and other lab work can be tracked on a daily
basis and if there is a need for a different dose or type of medication, it can be caught early and
corrected. A disadvantage of aggregate data would be that there is underlying factors that is not
disclosed and because of the underlying factors, the data gathered is not beneficial when it comes
to treating the patient. Therefore, the patient can suffer from a specific event that was not treated
properly. Next, let us discuss comparative data. Comparative data can be defined as data that can

  • 2. Health Care And Affordable Care Act In 2010, Congress enacted the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in order to increase the number of Americans covered by health insurance and decrease the cost of health care (Supreme Court Opinion, 1). In America, it is a basic necessity to possess health care, logically, Congress would like to make such a necessity more accessible to Americans. Due to a divided government, there are variant views on whether this is necessary and just. Health care benefits all Americans; it is just a matter of if the policy of a required national health care is beneficial. Under the Affordable Care Act, the scope of the Medicaid program was expanded and the number of individuals the States must cover was increased . If states do not abide by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 16 27. By regulating the State s commerce, Congress is limiting what States really need to satisfy, their residents. Each state is different, and so are their residents. Simply enforcing a standard cookie cutter health plan forces States to ignore their previous needs, and budgetary challenges; Each state should be able to develop solutions that meet its specific needs (Robert E. Moffit, Ph. D). Not only do states desire their unique health care for themselves, but for their citizens as well. Although the ACA is arguably for the public good, only a certain class desires such a health care, not every citizen. Yet, if citizens refuse this health care, a penalty is imposed. The payment is not so high that there is really no choice but to buy health insurance; the payment is not limited to willful violations, as penalties for unlawful acts often are; and the payment is collected solely by the IRS through the normal means of taxation . (Supreme Court Opinion) Yet, a payment can be major for those who: do not have the means to pay for it, and disagree with the health care plan. Also, the new law adds a number of health care services that insurers must cover and in some cases restricts the ability of insurers and employer self insured health plans to impose limits on the amount of services patients can consume. This combination will drive up health plan costs and premiums for both individual insurance and employer group coverage (Edmund F. Haislmaier). Yet, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Why Does Evolution Happen The theory of evolution is a change over time to help the species survive due to natural selection. (survival of the fit) I believe that evolution and change over time does happen, but it happened after a creation. I will use the evidence to describe why evolution happens and how it happens. Adaptation is the act of changing the way you look or the way you act in order to survive and reproduce. Physical change is a type of adaptation. An example of a physical adaptation is the size of the finches beaks, or the whale s nostrils turning into a blow hole. Next, behavioral change is the other type of adaptation. Whales used to be land animals, but eventually changed their behavior and became water animals so they could find food. Evolution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The whales couldn t find any food on land so they adapted their behavior and eventually the way they look to survive in water. Each couple million years the fossils change. Whales started off looking sort of like a wolf. Then, after a while their back bone started to change. At one point whales almost looked like a seal. () Whales over time lost most of their fur, changed from paws to webbed feet to fins, and their nostrils changed into a blow hole. Whales probably adapted early on because some of them were dying off of they needed food so they went in the water to hunt some fish. They were most likely successful at this so they continued to do this, and evolved to make it easier. Whale evolution supports the theory of evolution because you can see the fossils, and how they changed. Also, you see the fossil record and timeline of the organisms. Because of this you see what they looked like, where they lived, and how the adapted. Scientists can make a fossil record of whales because of the rock layers and fossil record. The law of superposition says that any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, which means scientists can look at those layers to create a fossil record. You can use absolute and relative dating to find the age of any fossil. Scientists used half life of some type of chemical to find the absolute age of a whale fossil. Also, they looked at fossils and whale relatives to find relative age, like some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Plus, if the printhead requires any cleaning, the printer s self diagnostic and self cleaning process takes only three to four minutes, minimizing downtime on the production line. New equipment meets customer demand Within IGE s 175,500 square foot facility, the company has two 10 foot assembly lines to package two bowls of cheese dip into a double pack chipboard box. The individual bowls of cheese shipped from the Berner facility were already coded with the freshness date. Then IGE used the Videojet 1510 printer to place identical freshness dates on the chipboard packaging. Since each bowl displays a freshness date, the chipboard packaging must display both dates, requiring two lines of code if the dates are different on each bowl. The dates needed to be visible on the box because they are used to track the cheese dip throughout the supply chain, and to indicate the expiration date to the consumer. Initially, we switched our single Videojet printer to different lines to keep up with the demand created by the two packaging assignments, Miller says. The printer is compact and convenient to move, so when we used one printer to accommodate both lines, changeover took only three or four minutes which is really important to eliminate downtime. Eventually, we decided to get a second Videojet printer so we could run both the single and double packaging projects simultaneously. great results, future goals Between the two packaging assignments, IGE ... • 5. Cretaceous-Triassic Extinction Research Paper An extinction event (also known as a mass extinction or biotic crisis) is a widespread and rapid decrease in the amount of life on Earth. It occurs when the rate of extinction increases with respect to the rate of speciation. Extinction occurs at an uneven rate. The most recent and debatably best known, the Cretaceous Paleogene extinction event, which occurred approximately 66 million years ago (Ma), was a large scale mass extinction of animal and plant species in a geologically short period of time. It is now generally believed that the K Pg extinction was triggered by a massive comet or asteroid impact 66 million years ago and its catastrophic effects on the global environment, including a lingering impact winter that made it impossible for plants and plankton to carry out photosynthesis. • 6. The Car T Cells Essay What are CAR T cells? Describe their structure. Car T cells are more formally known as chimeric antigen receptors. These cells are genetically modified t cells that are designed to target tumor cells. These CAR t cells work by circulating through the blood looking for cells that they can bind to. The receptors of these cells are specifically designed to recognize a pattern that is common cancer. Once they cell comes into contact with the specific receptor, cell will then attack and destroy the cancer, but also can tell the rest of the body that there is a problem. The additional hope is that the CAR T cells will create memory cells within the body as a normal T cell. In the simplest explanation, CAR T cells are genetically modified to attack cells the body would otherwise not recognize. These cells are recombinant receptors that have been developed specifically for this purpose. These CARs are usually composed of an extracellular antigen recognition receptor that is attached by a spacer to a transmembrane domain. Around these transmembrane domains could be additional domains that function as co stimulator to produce a further immune response. In a normal t cell, there is a requirement of an MHC molecule to bind and recognize the antigen, however, the CAR T cells are capable of overcoming the limitation. So CAR T cells are able to bind directly and independent of this system allowing the cell to read a much diverse pool. How are they generated for clinical use? These cells ... • 10. Research Paper On Taoism Immortality does not mean living forever in the present physical body. In Taoism, death is just the final step in achieving complete unity with the universe when Taoist draws closer and closer to nature throughout their life. Taoism has a goal to raise the immortal practise to a higher level which is spiritual immortality. To attain it, people have to transform all their qi into primordial qi and proceed to refine it to subtler levels. This finer qi will eventually turn into pure spirit, with which practitioners increasingly identify to become transcendent spirit people. To achieve this, intensive meditation and trance training as well as more radical forms of diet and other longevity practices are needed. Immortality implies the overcoming of the natural tendencies of the body and its transformation into a different kind of qi constellation. It is a bypassing of death so that the end of the body has no impact on the continuation of the spirit person. In addition, practitioners attain super sensory powers and eventually gain residence in wondrous otherworldly paradises (Kohn 2005). Taoism is a polytheist religion. The mere declaration that a given number of animals out of the flock would be held on trust would not create a trust . This approach was followed in re Goldcorp which affirmed that property must be separately identifiable before it can be held on a valid trust. The contention arose with Hunter v Moss which did not follow the orthodox approach where Hunter was entitled 50 out of moss s 1000 shares. Under the Goldcorp rule there would be no trust because the property was not separated however Dillon J said there was a valid trust. The rationale for this controversial decision was that it would have made no difference which 50 shares would have been given because they were all identical. So here there was no need to segregate the property if it was intangible. The problem with this case is that Dillon is giving the trustee of the will who only has legal title subject to the terms of the trust an executor status, i.e. putting him in the shoes of the sethlow. • 13. Wellcome Merger Case Study In this individual discussion post, a review of the acquisition of Wellcome by Glaxo is explored with focus on the complexities of Wellcome s business structure with Promedico. Additional focus is placed on Ofra Sherman, manager of Wellcome Israel, as to her history with the company, team interactions, reporting chain, and her reactions to the pending acquisition. Glaxo Wellcome merger Through a hostile bid for control, Glaxo announced in 1995 its plan to create the world s largest pharmaceutical company with the acquisition of Wellcome. Wellcome was known as an antiviral specialist and had ranked between tenth and twentieth worldwide in revenue (Jick Peiperl, 2011, p. 348). The Wellcome employees felt secure in their position in this industry that had seen many takeovers and mergers with assurances from Wellcome Trust, holder of 40 percent of the firm s shares, that the holding was secure and would not be sold without advance communication. Communication of the acquisition did not occur however and the bid came as a complete surprise to the Wellcome employees who felt betrayed by the decision. Details of the acquisition should have been originally shared by Wellcome Trust as promised, but now should be done by Glaxo as the CEO, Sir Richard Sykes, assured Wellcome CEO, John Robb, Wellcome managementwould play a role in the acquisition including job placement. This is an important aspect of any acquisition as the lack of or ineffective communication strains the employer employee relationship during such time and reduces personnel morale (Bansal, 2017, p. 421). Of particular importance to both companies should be discussion and strategy as to how Glaxo would partner Wellcome Israel with their existing Israel distributor, CTS. Ofra Sherman s actions Ms. Sherman was conflicted by the situation before her with the acquisition and had no answers to the many questions leaving her with a sense of loss of control. As noted by Jick and Peiperl (2011), most individual s negative reaction to change is related to control and a threat to their influence, surroundings, pride, and accustomed way of working (p. 337). • 14. Risk Based Portfolio Construction Methods Risk Based Portfolios In this section, Lee Wai (2001) briefly explained characteristics of the four well known risk based portfolio construction methods Equally Weighted Portfolio, Global Mean Variance Portfolio, Most Diversified Portfolio, and Risk Contribution Portfolio. First, the equally weighted portfolio is the simplest portfolio construction approach that gives all assets same weights (Lee, 2011). Lee described the portfolio as the most heuristic portfolio because it completely ignores the return and risk relationship of investments. Lee also argued that equal weighting of assets does not guarantee diversification since this strategy does not have any consideration of correlation among assets. This is the complete and undeniable truth. As we have learned from the investment and financial theory courses, some of assets have close relationship that can be estimated by covariance between assets. Second, the global minimum variance portfolio (GMV) is a unique portfolio on a portfolio frontier since it has the lowest volatility (Lee, 2011). Lee explained that although the marginal contribution to risk of all assets in the GMV is identical, this does not mean risk contributions of each asset is equal because of the different weights and volatilities of assets in the portfolio. Moreover, the GMV tends to have high weights on low volatility assets in order to lower the total volatility of the portfolio. As a result, the GMV portfolio can be more sensitive to the ... When Elizondo finally arrived at Tepeyac he felt like everything was sort of in slow motion and every one moved as a procession up to see the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Kingdom of Israelprospered for a short time and under the rule of King David and the aid of his son Solomon the First Temple was constructed as a home for Yahweh. But when Solomon died, the Kingdom of Israel splintered again into the northern and southern kingdoms. • 32. Types Of Plants And Insect Herbivores Influence Community... Nutrient availability, plants, and insect herbivores influence community structure and function both aboveground and belowground, but it is unclear whether these factors are independent or interdependent (Wright et al. 2014). Ehrlich and Raven (1964) used butterflies as a model organism to examine coevolution between closely interacting organisms, specifically between plants and insect herbivores. Ehrlich and Raven (1964) noted that structural and mechanical characteristics of plants have the potential to modify these relationships. Additionally, many plants produce secondary metabolic compounds, which may act as repellents to insects and correlate with the presence of nutrients. The chemical composition of plants may change with age, exposure to sunlight, or other environmental factors, and changes in chemical composition may influence the attraction or repulsion of insects to plants (Ehrlich and Raven 1964). According to the study, secondary plantsubstances played an integral role in determining patterns of plant utilization by various speciesof butterflies, as well for other phytophagous and parasitic insect groups. Through mutations and recombination, plants were able to produce chemical compounds not directly related to their metabolic pathways. Ehrlich and Raven (1964) noted that some of these compounds appeared to reduce the palatability of the plant. This was a main theme from George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four , in which the main character, Winston (and presumably, all other inhabitants of Oceania), lives in a home equipped with a telescreen (what we, today, would liken a television or computer monitor, equipped with a webcam). Through the telescreen, messages could be displayed to the resident, but everything happening inside the home could also be seen and heard by Big Brother . To someone for whom the concept of Big Brother is foreign (as is the case with the Big Brother housemates or with Winston in the book Nineteen Eighty Four), having this telescreen or any other source through which you can be monitored without your knowledge or consent, can be very unsettling. The novel Nineteen Eighty Four really gave people something to think about. What might the world turn into, if dictators or tyrannical governments rose up and took hold of society? Could it ever be possible that the government might have such a hold on their citizens that thoughts could be controlled, and lies could be twisted into believeable truths? These are all questions that Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four raised. The impact that Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four has had on the literary genre of dystopian texts is undoubtable. The novel paved the way for many other s like it. As a text, Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four followed a set of rules for what a dystopian text needed to be. It included an ... This dream is the belief that anybody can come to America and have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
