Rap Vs Rap
From the beating of the drums to the use of instruments, music has been around us and has
changed the way we, as humans, interact with one another. As music changes over time, it starts
to differentiate itself from other types and creates what we now call genres and a style that
keeps pushing itself further and further, is no other than Rap/Hip Hop.This genre was started
back in the 1980s in New York where it was an outlet for artists to tell their stories. As Rap music
moves forward, subgenres rise and start to create their own distinctive sounds, and this is where
rap begins to split. A very popular subgenre that has blown up over the course of a decade is
called Trap. Recently Trap music has made huge waves in the music industry, this style of music
is everywhere! it is hard to escape, but recently there has been a great deal of talk going around
that Trap music is way better than rap but this is where the disagreement comes into place. Once
you compare all the facts and key points about what makes a genre better than the other, Rap is
miles ahead of Trap music in every way possible and any avid music listener will and can tell you
this. When listening to music, often times the listener would want the song or album to relate in
some way. Knowing that a specific artist has the same problem or is going through the same
predicament makes it more special and establishes a connection between the listener and the artist,
but when there is no message, it is just words

Good Cover Letters
When I decided to reenter the workforce and began the tedious and gut wrenching task of
sending out resumes and good cover letters for resumes to every employer I could think of, I
quickly realized my hard work and tenacity were not getting me very far. I am a pretty decent
writer, and I thought my good cover letters for resumes were truly works of art. I was sure I would
get at least an interview for each and every one of these beauties.
But I was barely getting even so much as a courtesy confirmation that my good cover letters for
resumes were being received in the appropriate HR mailbox, much less an interview.
I dug into every contact I had, and twisted a few arms to get early heads up on any one retiring, or
being fired. I canoodled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a sad reality in the corporate world where they still think they want one person per task,
instead of sharing the work load as a creative collaborative effort. So for my good cover letters for
resumes to really have the desired effect: (get me an interview) I needed to narrow their focus a bit.
You need to sound less fancy when writing your good cover letters for resumes.
What? This threw me for a loop. But she explained: My writing was in fact great. I had a very
extensive vocabulary and my sentences were complex and interesting.
Unfortunately this was not a good thing. In fact it was hurting my good cover letters for resumes
for two reasons, both of which are silly but true:
1. It makes me sound like an insufferable prig. Certainly not the impression you want your good
cover letters for resumes to leave.
2. The managers I am applying with are likely less verbal, and might feel threatened if they were to
hire someone they viewed as possibly smarter than they are.
I found this last one a bit far fetched, but she assured me that while many managers realize the
value of having people on your team with better skills than your own, just as many are insecure and
would fret that they might eventually be replaced by a superior individual they themselves had

Theme Of Loyalty In King Lear
Shakespeare s play, king Lear, is a true masterpiece and it portrays many of the struggles man
faces in their lifetime and the many lessons we must face in order to learn from our mistakes. King
Lear calls into question many different ethical dilemmas and it makes us as humans question our
own beliefs and how we interact with each other. King Learis not only a terrific story but it is an
example and a guide to show us the events that could happen when we drift away from those we
love and we focus more on material things. Throughout the play king Lear, Shakespeare
incorporates many different themes within the play. But truly the three biggest themes are the
abuse of power, betrayal, and loyalty. Throughout the play, the reoccurring theme... Show more

Loyalty is one of the strongest bonds people can form and it shows in the play king Lear with
many different characters. The first character that displays true loyalty throughout the whole
play is the nobleman Kent. Even after the king banishes him from the kingdom Kent still finds
his way back into the king s life and ends up being one of the few people that actually care about
the king. Kent s loyalty towards the king was so strong he would even fight and confront anyone
that treated his master wrongly. This is a true sign of loyalty and when everyone started
abandoning Lear Kent was the constant at his side never wavering always there for Lear to lean
on, this is true loyalty. A knave rascal, an eater of broken flesh, a base proud, shallow, beggarly,
three suited, hundred pound, filthy worsted stocking knave (2.2.13 15). This quote again shows
that anyone that disrespects the king in front of Kent will be sure to hear it from him and it
speaks to his character. It shows that Kent is not afraid to stand up for what he thinks is right
and that no matter what he will always be there for the king even if he doesn t have his powers.
The next example of loyalty is the fool. He has been by Lear s side from the beginning and it is
ironic that he is by his side when everyone else is gone. Prithee nuncle be contended tis a naught
night to swim in (3.4.105) this quote shows that the fool is very close to the king as he calls him
nuncle so he has been there through thick and thin with the king. It also shows his loyalty he
followed the king out into the blistering cold for nothing only because he was loyal. He cared for
the king and he wanted him to be safe and that is a great example of loyalty by the fool. The
lesson Shakespeare delivers here is that there are very few people in life that would lay down their
life for you and have absolute loyalty to you until the day you die, and those people

Example Of The Rood Approach
5.Rood approach
Rood approach was first introduced by Margaret Rood in the 1950 s which become center of origins
for many facilitation techniques used in this century. This approach came from the reflex of motor
control, also it builds up an arrangement of helpful activities to enhance cutaneous incitement for
patients who have neuromuscular dysfunctions adjacent to proprioceptive manoeuvers like
situating, joint pressure, joint distraction and the general utilization of reflexes, extend, and
protection. The best accentuation is given on interceptive applications, for example, tapping,
stroking, brushing, icing, warmth, weight, and vibration to fulfill ideal solid activity.

Task oriented approach
Task oriented approach is often suggested as a preferred neurorehabilitation intervention to enhance
the work by polishing motor behavior. This approach is based on system model of motor behavior
and environment factors on motor performance. Task oriented approach patients is mainly having
neurological conditions like a cerebral vascular accident and traumatic brain injury which result to
shifts in multiple body function such as mental, sensory, and neuromusculoskeletal and movement
related functions.
Task oriented approach uses a top down, client centered, and occupation focused approach to
evaluation and treatment. The evaluation process starts with the decision of role performance and
occupational performance. Then the therapist detects the patient performing challenging and
meaningful tasks, and determines the patterns that can be stable.
The therapist identifies the crucial person factors that intrude with task performance which known
as control parameters, control parameters are personal or environmental variables that are reflection
to constrain movement into desirable patterns and have the potential to shift behavior to a new
pattern. For example, therapists observe client and identify the following control parameters such as
amount of trunk support, level of attention to tasks, amount of energy, and incorporation of right
hand, all of control parameters referred to assessment

Characters And Evil In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
In the beginning of William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies , readers meet four young boys
from ages 11 13 who have been stranded on a deserted island with no adults after a flight from
home. Readers come to understand the relationship between Ralph, Jack, Simon and Piggy get
complicated and violent once all laws and rules have disappeared by the end of the novel, 2 boys
are dead and the have changed dramatically. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech for the novel,
Golding stated that, ... men produce evil as bees produce honey. His statement is that Golding
believes that human nature is automatically evil; he is right.
Golding s view is that evil exists in all humans from birth; he is right. In the lord of the flies the
author shows this clearly. They re all dead, said Piggy, an this is an island. Nobody don t know
we re here. Your dad don t know, nobody don t know His lips quivered and the spectacles
dimmed with mist. we may stay here till we die . ( 14 )This passage says Piggy is doubting
about being rescue. When he says, they re all dead, he is referring to the people who were in the
airplane with them before they ended up in the island. When Golding writes that Piggy s lips
quivered, this shows us that piggy is afraid. This matters to the central idea of human nature
because there s fear in the boys.In the lord of the flies , the author reinforces this idea. If I blow
the conch and they don t come back; then we ve had it. We shan t keep the fire

Essay on Buddhism in Japan
Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future; it
transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural and spiritual, and
it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a
meaningful unity. Albert Einstein (Buddhism)
Buddhism has affected many people. From the Buddha s first followers to my next door neighbor,
people everywhere have followed the teachings of Buddhism. Buddhism was started by a Prince; a
prince who wanted more. Many different ways of showing appreciation to Buddha are present in

One was an elderly man, another was a man suffering from illness, and finally he saw a dead
body surrounded by mourners. Since he had never seen anything like this before, he asked his
charioteer what these things were. He responded to the Prince that these things were natural and
unavoidable, and happened to everyone. Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him
out into the city; this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life
forever. The last sight he saw was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was
completely shaved and he was wearing a yellow robe. Having seen all these things, Buddha not
only became aware of the pain and suffering of humankind, but was also prompted to do something
about it. He left his family in search of the answers to his questions (Buddhism).
Siddhathra traveled throughout the northeastern portion of India, seeking out holy men and
teachers who taught him ancient Indian techniques of meditation. Even though meditation was
important to him, his main quest was to find the answer to the problem of suffering. He wanted
to know why they were suffering and how it could stop. So Siddhartha studied the teachings of
Hinduism. He was very fascinated by the belief of reincarnation or Samsara. (This was the belief of

Caged Bird Thesis
Thesis Statement: Maya Angelou s poem, Caged Bird, demonstrates her emotional stress of grief
and desire for freedom, which stems from her personal struggle as an African American woman and
from the viewpoints of her peers.
She chose to write about her thoughts through beautiful poetry which related to her past dealing
with racism, sexuality, and separation.
Like an unfinished painting, the autobiographical series is an ongoing creation, in a form that
rejects the finality of a restricting frame. Its continuity is achieved through characters who enter the
picture, leave, and reappear, and through certain interlaced themes self acceptance, race, men, work,
separation, sexuality, motherhood (Lupton 257).

The Scarlet Letter And The Making Of A Pearl

The Scarlet Letter and the Making of a Pearl
Every pearl begins as a dangerous and harsh intrusion into life. A piece of dirt is inserted into an
oyster s environment where it doesn t belong. The oyster can either respond by dying, or by
accepting and surrounding the sand with care. With continual care, the oyster turns the small speck
of dirt into a beautiful pearl. The Scarlet Letter is a story of how one woman takes a scandalous
event and rather than allowing the event to define her, she, by constant kindness, turns her life and
her child into something of worth. The theme I am focusing on in The Scarlet Letter is the person
and the concept which embodies courage and redemption.

The oyster must believe that it can survive the intrusion of the sand particle. Similarly, Hester
decides that after being socially shunned she would have to daily overcome the negative
statements from around her and the negative thoughts within her. Hester shows courage under all
the stigma when she entered the Governor s hall (Hawthorne 98). Even though people are
judgmental and cruel, she stays strong. This is a positive example of courage just as when an
oyster accepts and nurtures a piece of dirt. A negative example of courage is Dimmesdale and his
deceitful heart toward his sin. He is like the oyster that doesn t accept the piece of sand and dies
because of the intrusion. He hides the fact that he is also a guilty party in the sin and as a result,
he can t forgive himself and slowly withers away under the social pressure (Hawthorne 238).
The final example of courage is Pearl herself. She is symbolically the piece of sand. Being raised
under Hester s care, Pearl s nature is an embodiment that she is not wanted by her community
and only loved by her mother. Pearl shows great courage by not conforming to the expectations
of those around her. Yes, she is sometimes very demonic like (Hawthorne 126), but she is not a
coward like her father. She doesn t let society define her, she defines herself. Throughout the
process of turning a grit of sand into a pearl, the oyster must keep courage. Likewise, the theme of
courage is represented in the book as Hester grows

Economic and Monetary Union (Emu)
History In June 1988 the European Council confirmed the objective of the progressive realization of
Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). It mandated a committee chaired by Jacques Delors, the
then President of the European Commission, to study and propose concrete stages leading to this
union. Economic and monetary union evolved in three discrete but evolutionary steps.
First step On the basis of the Delors Report, the European Council decided in June 1989 that the
first stage of the realisation of economic and monetary union should begin on 1 July 1990. On this
date, in principle, all restrictions on the movement of capital between Member States were

A chronological sequence of events was pre announced for the changeover to the euro. This
scenario was mainly based on detailed proposals elaborated by the EMI
At the same time, the EMI was given the task of carrying out preparatory work on the future
monetary and exchange rate relationships between the euro area and other EU countries. In
December 1996 the EMI presented its report to the European Council, which formed the basis of a
Resolution of the European Council on the principles and fundamental elements of the new
exchange rate mechanism (ERM II), which was adopted in June 1997.
Third step On 1 January 1999 final stage of EMU commenced with the irrevocable fixing of the
exchange rates of the currencies of the 11 Member States initially participating in Monetary Union
and with the conduct of a single monetary policy under the responsibility of the ECB.
The number of participating Member States increased to 12 on 1 January 2001, when Greece

Personal Narrative about Skiing Essay
The coat of armor I adorned, made of down feathers and a nylon shell, yielded no protection
against the daggers of that cold winter air. As I peered out toward the horizon, I saw nothing but
tree tops, and some snow capped mountain tops in the distance. With my feet bound to freshly
waxed skis, the only thing stronger than my skipoles was my determination to get down the
mountain.
I turned to my right, only to see the immediate drop off of the ski slope. As I crept up a little
closer to the edge, I noticed an incline that before now was only known to me through pictures of
cliff diving, or an exaggerated road runner and coyote cartoon.
With a deep breath of that icy cold air that seemed endless at the time, I pushed myself off the ...

my body to the right in hopes to avoid the oncoming danger, that devil dressed in the needles of a

As my upper body shifted to the right, everything from my waist and below stayed true to the
course, including the ski poles. I ran over the handle of my ski pole, with my stomach. The pole
was pushed up into my lower abdomen, propelling me off of the slope entirely, I was airborne. I
landed on my back, completely out breath, and dazed to the point I had no recollection of where
I was. The next moment was particularly scary for me, all I can recall was the ringing of a
whistle in my ear, and the red lights flashing from the ski patrols snowmobiles. Unsure of any
injuries, the ski patrol had braced my back and neck, strapped me to a board, and began to tow me
down the mountain.
I spent the next three hours in the lodge under the watchful eye of a very pleasant paramedic,
who prescribed me the perfect blend of warm blankets and hot chocolate. The throbbing pains
finally ceased, and I was able to stand up under my own power. I slowly staggered out the door,
eternally grateful to the paramedics and ski patrol that came to my

Impact Of Computer In Medicine And Medicine
Computers and Medicine
Technology is vital to society in today s age and it affects almost every single thing that goes on in
a person s daily life. I believe technology has spread to nearly every field, even if it is a minor use
of it.
Transportation, conversation, banking, and even working places have some sort of technology with
it now. But what is going to be discussed in this Wiki is the impact that technology and computers
have made with medicine and healthcare.
The creation of technology changed the way healthcare is being received, and even organized. The
introduction of electronic medical records, to finding cures that humans thought would not be
possible, healthcare has changed right in front of everyone s eyes. Let s discuss what exactly a
computer is and how technology is changing in the field of healthcare and medicine.
What is a computer?
According to dictionary.com, a computer is a programmable device that reads data, performs
calculations, and outputs the results of the data.
How are computers used by doctors to deal with medical efforts?
In today s age, computers help patients and the hospital communicate together for reasons, such as
booking appointments at home or in office, sending medical prescriptions to pharmacy, or just in
house communication between doctors and nurses. The introduction of electronic medical records
has allowed doctors and nurses to get rid of paper work and have all electronic documents for
easier access and storage. Many

standards. On March 12, 1929 a man named Edward Harvey was born in Washington D.C. Two

affirmation , which basically means questioning everything honestly. He is one of the most
famous philosophers and he had an interesting look at philosophy. He believed philosophy was
not a critique of words by means of other words (untimely meditations) but it is a practical way to
help your self grow, overcome and become a greater person. By doing this one would be able to
affirm life no matter what tragedies you are faced with, There are heights of the soul from which
even tragedy ceases to look tragic (Beyond Good and Evil). He considered himself to be a teacher
to these great individuals or the higher man his target audience. Inside the higher man there are
different instincts/drives that are forever battling making them a chaotic being. This results in
suffering and possible self destruction. To reach life affirmation one must take hold of this chaos
inside of them. Because that isn t an easy thing to do, a person might give in to a Herd Instinct .
The Herd instinct exists in everyone and is easy to fall into. It is

Compare And Contrast Worldviews
Comparing Worldviews
Worldviews vary from person to person and faith to faith, resulting in everyone seeing the world
through their own assumptions and beliefs. Out of the many worldviews discussed in the text,
Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, and in class three stood out to me for
comparison. These three worldviews consist of Naturalism, Pantheism and Polytheism.
Worldviews, although not always correct, are how people see the world and reflect on our
expectations about life. Differences can be seen in beliefs such as if they believe in a spiritual
world, a material world, or both. Worldview s purposes are to explain the purpose of man and the
world. All three worldviews attribute the problems in the world to different aspects based on their
beliefs and have diverse notions of how to resolve the world problems. Although a few similarities
can be found among these world views, there are multiple differences found.
When attempting to explain the purpose of man and the world, all three worldviews use different
approaches. Naturalism believes man is here by chance, that humanity just happened and one day it
will phase off the earth. Polytheism takes the approach of men and creatures on earth being the
creation of gods and were put here to entertain the gods and spirits. Pantheism believes only in a
spiritual world, so everything outside the spiritual world is an illusion. Naturalism and Pantheism
are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum

Animal Farming In Bangladesh Essay
In Bangladesh, livestock is one of the most potential sub sectors of agriculture which plays an
indispensable role in promoting human health and national economy of the country. Livestock not
only assists to upgrade the financial condition but also makes a substantial contribution to human
nutrition. However, livestockis an integral part of a farming system which has a better contribution
to enhancing the economy of Bangladesh. Large ruminants (Cattle and Buffalo) and small
ruminants (sheep and goat) constitute the major portion of livestock. The present population of
livestock is 23.7 million cattle, 1.47 million Buffalo, 25.76 million goats and 3.3 million sheep
(DLS, 2015 16). The total contribution of livestock sub sector to Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
in Bangladesh is approximately 7.23% and livestock in agricultural production 17.32%
(Anonymous, 2007). It also generates 13% of foreign currency and provides 20% fulltime
employment and 50% partial employment of rural population (Alam, 1993). In this country, 80%
rural people are involved with livestock farming (Siddiki et al., 2009). Most animals are reared in
houses under the traditional husbandry practices where small ruminant especially goat and sheep
are mainly reared for several reasons including meat, wool and skin production (Hossain et al.,
2004). The production and productivity of animals are greatly hampered by different diseases

Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier Essay example
Cold Mountain
In Charles Frazier s Cold Mountain, the theme of music is one of the novel s most powerful themes.
From symbolizing character growth to the healing of physical wounds, music plays an integral part
in this novel. While many critics will point out that music has little effect on the human psyche,
Charles Frazier shows his belief that music does indeed have a profound effect on the human mind
throughout Cold Mountain. Throughout the novel, Inman, Ada, Ruby, Stobrod, and many other
characters experience music that allows them to keep faith against the odds or even heal their
wounds! There are three major types of music used in this novel; hymn music, folk music, and
natural music . It is through these types of music that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But Monroe preached that they were misunderstanding the song if they fooled themselves into
thinking all creation would someday love them. What it really required was for them to love all
creation (78). Monroe used the hymns of his church as a means to spread his ideas of how
people ought to live their lives. This pattern is also apparent with Inman. When he meets
Swimmer, a Native American, he learns of a chant that could kill the soul of an enemy (20).
Inman cannot accept this notion because he had been taught by sermon and hymn to hold as truth
that the soul of man never dies (20). Charles Frazier believed in the power of hymn to influence
what people believed about spirituality and the soul. This parallels the historical usage of hymns
in church during the Civil War as well as in today s church as a means to pass down culture. Hymn
music also had the ability to strengthen the Church and to solidify the beliefs of the parishioners.
There is a large disagreement over the influence of religious music over a person s beliefs. The
evangelical song leaders believed that religious music moved people with no faith to a life
dedicated to praising God, but people from outside the church described religious music as cheap
and tawdry (Squire 242). According to the United Evangelical Front religious music was a way to
articulate God s plan and extend the influence of religion outside of the church

Healthcare Data Essay
A. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each of the following categories of healthcare
data: 1. aggregate data 2. comparative data 3. patient centric data When it comes to reviewing
healthcare data there are certain data categories an organization needs to keep in mind, those
categories include aggregate data, comparative data, and patient centric data. All of the
categories have advantages and disadvantages. In the following paragraphs I will list out the
advantage and disadvantages of the categories mentioned above. First, let us start with aggregate
data. Aggregate data can be used to detect patterns or similarities from numerous groups of
patients. This data helps healthcare organizations and healthcare providers develop a plan of
care or prevention of illnesses and a better understanding of how to properly manage a disease
process. With the use of aggregate data, vital signs and other lab work can be tracked on a daily
basis and if there is a need for a different dose or type of medication, it can be caught early and
corrected. A disadvantage of aggregate data would be that there is underlying factors that is not
disclosed and because of the underlying factors, the data gathered is not beneficial when it comes
to treating the patient. Therefore, the patient can suffer from a specific event that was not treated
properly. Next, let us discuss comparative data. Comparative data can be defined as data that can

Microsoft Corp. And Alphabet Inc.
Microsoft Corp. and Alphabet Inc. are two of the world s biggest technology companies and an

Surrealism In Poetic Realism
1930 s France saw the growth of a small film movement known as Poetic Realism.
The tenants of this movement were loose at best and mostly consisted as a tendency that a handful
of independent filmmakers used in their films. Their influences came primarily from literature of
the time and the fantastic styles of Impressionism and Surrealism. From great literature came the
scripts and stories for this movements. Great writers like Emil Zola and Leo Tolstoy had their tales
appear on the screens of French theaters.
From Impressionism, the Poetic Realist infused their films with stylized cinema, optical effects,
and editing to render reality as it is subjectively perceived ( ( removed HTML ) https:/

Impressionism dealt in over emphasized movements and scenery that were indicative of the mood
or perspective of a character. These techniques were translated into the fantasy like worlds of Poetic
Realism.
Surrealism also had a part to play in the creation of these poetic and fantastic worlds. The dream like
quality present in the Surreal movement found its way into Poetic Realism through bizarre and
incongruitous scenes and sequences. A move towards subverting narrative continuity facilitated the
use of Surrealism and Impressionism as many filmmakers wanted to distance themselves from the
American Hollywood style of straight forward narrative( ( removed HTML )

The Impact Of D-Day Landings In Normandy

Who Should Determine The Destiny Of Tana River Communities
Who Should Determine the Destiny of Tana River Communities in 2017?
Tana River is a multi ethnic County that is gifted with abundant natural resource wealth, which
includes, among others water sources, fertile land, beautiful beaches, forests and wild game. These
resources have never been fully exploited in favour of the communities in the County. Since
independence, the successive governments deliberately renounced to listen to the plight of the
communities by yielding insignificant attention by not prioritizing Tana River Districtin their

More so, the aspects of poor leadership from some of the previous government and political
officials, who behaved in a servile manner, and the unwarranted internal ethnic acrimonies have
endorsed the current contemptible state of the County. Consequently, the County is marred by poor
infrastructure, dilapidated and non existence (in some areas) of health facilities, impoverished
communities, insecurity, virtually non existence of clean water and sanitation facilities, low

Visiting Phantom Bodies
Art 1010 Art Appreciation
Visiting Phantom Bodies at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts (919 Broadway) was one of the
most thrilling experiences I have experienced in the recent past. The exhibition provided me with
an excellent opportunity to view countless works of art by a wide range of artists, an opportunity I
treasure especially because I got to learn a lot from the different works of art available at the center.
Phantom Bodies essentially refers to works of art that take a provocative approach in addressing
themes such as loss, trauma, and transformation, and which aim to demonstrate the possibility that
an animating spirit could potentially exist independently of the body (Frist Center for the Visual Arts
2015). I was most fascinated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the work engages the mind in a lot and this happens because of the powerful impact of
color and texture, which serves to demonstrate emphasis and variety, which also occurs because the
artist has combined them in a perfectly symmetrical manner (John F. Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts 2014). The thoughts relating to the body are powerful to the reader, and they serve
to remind the audience that death is inevitable and that we all have to face it as some point in our
lives. Therefore, the principles of texture and color trigger remembrance especially because of the
numerous repetitions that help to create balance, unity, harmony, and symmetry (Sayre 2012).
I find this painting to be quite appealing because it evokes many thoughts and emotions relating to
the mind, body, and the soul. More importantly, I find it very appealing because of its stunning
beauty, which mainly happens because the artist has focused a lot on achieving harmony, unity,
balance, and symmetry, all of which are critical in ensuring excellent art work. The use of
butterflies helps to enhance its appeal. Similarly, the use of different colors and different sizes of
butterflies contributes a lot in creating some form of texture and form that is appealing to the

Strategic Management Process
STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT PROCESSS
Strategic or institutional management is the conduct of drafting, implementing and evaluating
cross functional decisions that will enable an organization to achieve its long term objectives[1].
It is the process of specifying the organization s mission, vision and objectives, developing
policies and plans, often in terms of projects and programs, which are designed to achieve these
objectives, and then allocating resources to implement the policies and plans, projects and
programs. A balanced scorecard is often used to evaluate the overall performance of the business
and its progress towards objectives.

An organization, with a effective management, should try to implement its plans without signaling
the fact to its competitors.[3]
In order for a policy to work, there must be a level of consistency from every person in an
organization, including from the management. This is what needs to occur on the tactical level of
management as well as strategic.
Strategy evaluation
Measuring the effectiveness of the organizational strategy, it s extremely important to conduct a
SWOT analysis to figure out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (both internal and
external) of the entity in question. This may require to take certain precautionary measures or even
to change the entire strategy.
In corporate strategy, Johnson and Scholes present a model in which strategic options are evaluated
against three key success criteria:
Suitability (would it work?)
Feasibility (can it be made to work?)
Acceptability (will they work it?)
[Suitability
Suitability deals with the overall rationale of the strategy. The key point to consider is whether the
strategy would address the key strategic issues underlined by the organisation s strategic position.
Does it make economic sense?
Would the organisation obtain economies of scale, economies of scope or experience economy?
Would it be suitable in terms of environment and capabilities?
Tools that can be used to evaluate suitability include:

This huge growth was later stagnated and then in 2008, Italy was hit with a recession that it has

introduced, Italy greeted it with unconditional approval. The end of the Marshall Plan should
have ended Italy s recovery after World War II. However, the end of it coincided with the Korea

Sign Language Should Be Taught In Public Schools Essay
There are many opportunities in the world today. But has anyone ever stopped to think if they are
the right ones? Public schools have languages they offer to take as an elective to learn and use
later in life. Usually Spanish, French, German and Japanese. But what about the people who cannot
speak or hear a language? What are they supposed to do? Not giving equal opportunities to all
students is quite unfair. That s why I propose that there should be sign language courses taught in
public schools.
There are, of course, thousands of schools around the world for the deaf or hard of heating. To me,
that sounds very secluded. To make a special school for a group of people because they re different

This would teach all heating children priceless communication skills and encourage their physical

towards the deaf or partially heating (based on healing adults fear of being unable to communicate

Deaf Connections is a charity in Scotland that is spearheading the first steps towards a project like
the one Richard Sinnott proposed, by helping youngsters in Glasgow to learn the basic signing
skills. The project is being carried out in conjunction with Glasgow City Council s education
department and is being supported by a grant from the National Lottery.

I started off with two dicot plants (pinto beans) and was able to observe the sprout. In both dicot

were transferred to a pot of soil where they remained for the rest of their time. As time passed one
of the pinto beanplants dried out and the other was fertilized producing a bean pod, which can be
seen in the picture for week 14. This could have occurred because of the competition that plant
faced for sunlight and water. The surviving dicot plant was the one that sprouted first of the two,

The cross sections demonstrated the basic differences that distinguish a monocot plant for a dicot
plant. When looking at the cross section of the monocot stem you can see that the vascular
bundles are scattered. These vascular bundles consist of only a phloem and xylem. The phloem
is responsible for transporting soluble compounds (food) created by photosynthesis, to the rest of
the plant, especially where they are needed. The xylem is important for the movement of water
throughout the plant. Another difference that can be seen by looking at the cross section of at
stem is that the ground tissue (parenchyma) is not partitioned into pith and cortex. In the dicot
stem cross section the vascular bundles form a ring and they are made up of a phloem, xylem,

more cost effective, meaning more families can afford equine therapy. With this in mind, it shows
promise of becoming a standard form of early intervention for individuals with disabilities (Holmes
et. al. 120). As the childages, research is showing more and more support for equine therapy. It was
mentioned previously how equine therapy can help a child in the classroom. Research shows that
equine therapy can help a child in nearly every aspect of his or her life. Equine therapy proved in
one study that it helps children with intellectual disabilities with their balance, thanks to the
stimulating movements of the horse(Biery et. al. 1). Motor skills have improved after just a few
sessions in equine therapy, whether it be riding or hippotherapy (Snider et. al. 1). In addition,
researchers have found that social skills have improved with equine therapy (Bass, Dunchowny
llabre 1266). The reason for the improvement in social skills is because in therapeutic riding
lessons, children are given the chance to interact with other individuals who are similar to them.
This creates a bond between the students. Individuals in hippotherapy gain social skills because of
the interactions they have with a therapist, and the bonds formed with the horse. All of these
researchers have

Leadership Self Assessment Of The Field Of Nursing Leadership
Leadership Self Assessment
In the field of nursing leadership is critical within the units and nursing practice. However, in the
healthcare feel we may find ourselves interacting with different types of leaders. Upon completion
of my leadership self assessment, I was found to be a Participative, (democratic) type leader. To
understand what this means the individual must understand that there are three main types of
leadership styles. There is the Authoritarian, (autocratic) leader, participative, (democratic) leader,
and Delegative, (laissez faire). In alignment with theses leadership styles, are leadership and
management theories. It is also known that certain leadership styles excel in specific work
environments. The health care field involves organization, planning and implementing changes.
Therefore, the job of a leader can be very complex.
Upon completion of my leadership self assessment. It was determined by a strong indicator of
40 points, that I am a Participative Style leader. My second place scoring of 31 was in the
Delagative, (laissez fair) style of leadership. Coming in last was the authoritarian leader. The
type of leadership style that I exhibit is also known as a democratic leader. A democratic leader is
known for being very people oriented. The democratic leader encourages input from their peers,
and does so with an open mind. Often decisions under this leadership seem to occur at a much
slower pace, (due to taking the time to listen to

Summary Of On A Tightrope
Before diving into the analysis of the documentary, it is important to gain an understanding of the
context in which the protagonists live. Overall, China has a relatively high Human Development
Index (HDI) ranking of 90 out of 188 countries ( Human Development Report ). This ranking is
reflective of the major development that has occurred in Chinathroughout the last few decades,
but the country s almost mid tier position is indicative of necessary progress that has yet to take
place. To explore this topic a little more, one aspect of the HDI, the Multidimensional Poverty
Index, captures China s level of poverty at 5.2 percent, while 22.7 percent of the population stands
at the edge of multidimensional poverty ( Human Development Report ). Despite the fact that
complete multidimensional poverty is relatively low, socioeconomic disparities affect over a fifth
of the Chinese population. Not to mention, this level of poverty can be especially magnified within
certain groups or ethnicities. In the documentary On a Tightrope directed by Petr Lom, this
occurrence is investigated as the producers film the daily lives of four Uighur orphans in the
province of Xinjiang, China.
In creating the film, the producers focus on the lives of the orphans as they interact with the
tradition of tightrope walking. While watching the film, I understood that both the children and the
coach see tightrope walking as an escape from cyclical poverty. As part of a fairly unacknowledged
minority on

Nadine Gordimer Research Paper
Being bon in a small gold minding town of Springs, South Africa, Nadine Gordimer was exposed
to the immigrant and racial status that flowed through the early 1930 s. It was very common for an
African American to be born in a Caucasian environment, but Nadine was a Caucasian born in an
African environment. Gordimer was born to parents that contradicted their geographical existence.
Her father was Jewish born and often occupied a stratum underneath the earlier settlers. Gordimer s
mother, Nan, had opposing opinions on blacks. Instead of complying with the discrimination blacks
were bound to receive, Nan felt repugnant towards the discrimination and therefore found a daycare
for the children of black workers. In solitary existence, with very

The Medi An Effective Message
5.6 Buzzwords
The news media used a few key phrases that were repeated in order to perpetuate positive
understandings of the NZDF deployment of troops in Afghanistan. Messages such as NZDF
personnel are not going to war , not just fighting Taliban... , not just about a war on terror, but also
about the overall kindness and affable attitude of New Zealand reconstruction, hospitals, schools,
(He Toki, 2013). The airtime in mainstream media is increasingly limited and these kinds of
buzzword portray an effective message in increasingly shrinking time frames (Louw, 16). However,
these buzzwords extended further than the media itself, they were preserved among government
too. The Annual Report for the year ended 30th June 2002, has a whole section reiterating
peacekeeping highlighting the active, and long standing participation in international peace
operations. In this section noting, that there have been more operational commitments in the last
five years compared to the previous 20. This was a good thing (Annual Report, 2002).
6. Institutional Analysis Government Framing
Phil Goff s media release, 10 April 2006 emphasised the importance of continued deployment in
Afghanistan, justifying the cost for the government, therefore taxpayer, through buzzwords without
any scrutiny.
$130 million invested in peacekeeping and development.

Targets of Satire in The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to...
Targets of Satire in The Ultimate Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy Douglas Adams satirizes many
targets in The Ultimate Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy. Adams came up with the idea for The
Ultimate Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy in a drunken haze in Germany while he was lying in a
field with the stars spinning over him (Adams, Douglas 12) which explains the style of humor, and
the satirein the novel, which does not appear to make sense at first, but eventually does. Adams
almost forgot about his idea for the novel (Gaiman 7). The Ultimate Hitchhiker s Guide to the
Galaxy satirizes many targets, but especially government and religion. The Hitchhiker s Guide to
the Galaxy began as an idea that Adams had, believe it or not,... Show more content on

Contrary to that fact of radical atheism, however, the satire of religion is generally mild. For
example, God does exist, but His final message to the Universe is We apologize for the
Inconvenience (Adams, Ultimate Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy, IV 665). However, other
minor gods also exist, with Thor being a recurrent character. Another particularly memorable
moment is when Zarquon, a Jesus surrogate character, returns to the Universe... a few seconds
before the Universe ends (Galaxy, II 272), demonstrating how Adams believes that even if
religions are correct, that would not change much. Finally, Adams satirizes religion very
effectively with the in book device, the Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy Mk. II, which is a
device which appears to be a bird, but has immense power. God indeed exists in The Hitchhiker s
Guide to the Galaxy, but that s about the extent of His powers. His entire involvement in the
series is minimal. The opening words of one of the novels are In the beginning, the Universe was
created. This has made a lot of people angry and been widely regarded as a bad move (Adams II,
176). So the first thing God does in the entire history of everything was a mistake, in Adams s
eyes. Next, when God sent Jesus, in the words of the novel, One man had been nailed to a tree for
saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change (Adams I, 18). So, according to
Adams, God has almost no power to influence

Majoritarian And Effective American Voting System
Voting systems are the set of procedures that determine who will run our local, state, and federal
governments. These procedures include how the ballot is structured, how the vote is casted, how
the votes are counted, and how the winners are selected. Although there are a variety of ways a
voting system can be structured to enable citizen authorization of authority there are two dominant
votingsystems in Western democracies: plurality system and proportional representation. Douglas J.
Amy in (2000) and G. Bingham Powell in (2000) present a list of criteria that can be used to
determine which voting system is preferential. In this paper I will consider Accountability, High
Quality Campaigns, and Stable and Effective Governmentas the criteria for evaluating voting
systems, and evaluate the degree to which majoritarian and proportional representation systems
fulfill these criteria. In the majoritarian vision of citizen control, concentrated power is necessary.

In a majoritarian system, voters are able to easily identify which representative they should be
holding accountable when unacceptable actions are being taken. This is possible because the
majoritarian system uses single member districts in which members of the legislature are elected
one at a time in small districts (Amy 29). It also important to note that candidates are elected
based on who receives the most votes. This means that it is easy for constituents to not only
identify which representative was elected to serve them but to hold them accountable as well. The
same can be said about political parties, because of the two party system it is very likely that one
party will win the majority of the seats in the legislature, which means that voters will know who to
blame for unacceptable actions (Amy

Romanov Family Essay
No matter what age I am, history has always been my favorite subject. It s a story that I can
immerse myself completely in. It s so interesting to me how one action can change the future so
much. Looking back, it s no surprise to me how my deep fascination with the ill fated Romanov
family of Russia came to be. In eighth grade during world history we read about how the familywas

Thus far, I have read close to a dozen books about the family and have been able to read various
conspiracy theories (all untrue in my humble opinion, but very interesting) about the possibility of a

has taught me that if something piques your interest, you should dig deeper and dedicate time to
quench your thirst for more. Surprisingly, I have formed many relationships or created great
conversation with total strangers because of the Romanov family. I will never forget the day last
year I was at Starbucks during winter break reading a book about the time when the Romanovs
were imprisoned to the weeks after they were killed and a 70 year old man approached me. He
saw the cover and title and said he thought it was one of the most interesting events of history. I
invited him to sit with me and talk about the family and he obliged. That day I learned about his

Battle Of Trenton And The American Revolutionary War
Abstract
Battle of Trenton was analyzed to ascertain what Military Intelligence assets could have been used
to provide a different outcome to the battle for the British forces. The Battle of Trenton is widely
considered to be the turning point of the American Revolutionary War. If the British Commander
had used his intelligence assets appropriately, it could have led to a different outcome to the battle.
A different outcome would have changed the course of the war and possibly led to a British victory.
Battle of Trenton Information The Battle of Trenton was fought on 26 December 1776 in Trenton,
New Jersey. General George Washington, concerned with the low morale among the Soldiers of the
Continental Army and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Continental Army had been pushed out of New York and forced to retreat west of the
Delaware River. General George Washington feared he would lose his forces when the annual
enlistment of the Soldiers was up at the end of the year. General Washington decided to mount
an attack before his Army scattered back to their homes. Under his command General
Washington had 2,400 American troops and 18 guns, with infantry divisions under the command
of Major General Nathanael Greene and Major General John Sullivan, as well as artillery under
the command of Brigadier General Henry Knox. General Washington planned to launch three
coordinated attacks. The plan was to have General John Cadwalader attack the British at
Bordentown, New Jersey as a diversion and to block off reinforcements. Meanwhile, General
James Ewing would take a force of 700 militia across the Delaware to capture the bridge over
Assunpink Creek to prevent the British forces from escaping. George Washington would lead the
main attack force of 2,400 troops. They would cross the Delaware nine miles north of Trenton and
split into groups one under General Sullivan and another under General Greene. The plan was to
attack before dawn. General Greene would attack from the north and General Sullivan would attack

The Second Amendment Of The United States
December 4, 2015, in San Bernardino, CA, fourteen residents at the Inland Regional Center lost
their lives due to Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik shooting many residents.
Attending a holiday party at the center for thousands of residents with disabilities, Mr. Farook left
the center angry over a dispute and came back with Ms. Malik. Armed with .223 caliber assault
rifles and semiautomatic handguns, they killed 14 residents and wounded at least 17. Shootings
seem to be becoming more habitual, therefore, people fear guns and want to enact gun control laws.
Recent attacks from terrorist groups spark the question of who should have the right to own guns.
Controversies over interpreting the Second Amendment date back to the turn of the twentieth
century because so many viewpoints and regulations have accumulated; it is all in the manner of
which interpretation citizens subscribe to loose verses strict interpretation. Due to the
controversies, certain gun regulations have been enacted and fears have risen because of this. In
the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, it states, A well regulated militia,
being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall
not be infringed. After the American Revolutionary War, James Madison wrote the Bill of Rights
for the Anti Federalists. The main purpose of the Bill of Rights was to protect individual s rights
and freedoms against the strong national

Just don t ask me. PFC Miller being a PFC continued on anyway, What s the difference between a

that a gang, a large unruly mob that has a loosely defined chain of command and with no real
direction. A militia calls itself a militia or army. It has a clearly defined chain of command, some
sort of rank structure and looks somewhat military. PFC Miller nodded at that and seemed
satisfied with the answer at least he didn t ask any more questions. When they reached the five

Country, enter at your own risk. Sergeant Major Valliant radioed for the convoy to pull over to
the side of the road. He got out and met with the General and the Platoon Leader, it was decided
it was time to lock and load all weapons. Word was also passed that the area they were entering
was not secured and they could expect anything. The troops were told of some potential militia
movements in the area and to be on alert. If they are fired on they are allowed to return fire and
please please keep civilian casualties down to a minimum. It was a sign of the times that there

  • 2. Rap Vs Rap From the beating of the drums to the use of instruments, music has been around us and has changed the way we, as humans, interact with one another. As music changes over time, it starts to differentiate itself from other types and creates what we now call genres and a style that keeps pushing itself further and further, is no other than Rap/Hip Hop.This genre was started back in the 1980s in New York where it was an outlet for artists to tell their stories. As Rap music moves forward, subgenres rise and start to create their own distinctive sounds, and this is where rap begins to split. A very popular subgenre that has blown up over the course of a decade is called Trap. Recently Trap music has made huge waves in the music industry, this style of music is everywhere! it is hard to escape, but recently there has been a great deal of talk going around that Trap music is way better than rap but this is where the disagreement comes into place. Once you compare all the facts and key points about what makes a genre better than the other, Rap is miles ahead of Trap music in every way possible and any avid music listener will and can tell you this. When listening to music, often times the listener would want the song or album to relate in some way. Knowing that a specific artist has the same problem or is going through the same predicament makes it more special and establishes a connection between the listener and the artist, but when there is no message, it is just words ... • 3. Good Cover Letters When I decided to reenter the workforce and began the tedious and gut wrenching task of sending out resumes and good cover letters for resumes to every employer I could think of, I quickly realized my hard work and tenacity were not getting me very far. I am a pretty decent writer, and I thought my good cover letters for resumes were truly works of art. I was sure I would get at least an interview for each and every one of these beauties. But I was barely getting even so much as a courtesy confirmation that my good cover letters for resumes were being received in the appropriate HR mailbox, much less an interview. I dug into every contact I had, and twisted a few arms to get early heads up on any one retiring, or being fired. I canoodled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a sad reality in the corporate world where they still think they want one person per task, instead of sharing the work load as a creative collaborative effort. So for my good cover letters for resumes to really have the desired effect: (get me an interview) I needed to narrow their focus a bit. You need to sound less fancy when writing your good cover letters for resumes. What? This threw me for a loop. But she explained: My writing was in fact great. I had a very extensive vocabulary and my sentences were complex and interesting. Unfortunately this was not a good thing. In fact it was hurting my good cover letters for resumes for two reasons, both of which are silly but true: 1. It makes me sound like an insufferable prig. Certainly not the impression you want your good cover letters for resumes to leave. 2. The managers I am applying with are likely less verbal, and might feel threatened if they were to hire someone they viewed as possibly smarter than they are. I found this last one a bit far fetched, but she assured me that while many managers realize the value of having people on your team with better skills than your own, just as many are insecure and would fret that they might eventually be replaced by a superior individual they themselves had ... • 4. Theme Of Loyalty In King Lear Shakespeare s play, king Lear, is a true masterpiece and it portrays many of the struggles man faces in their lifetime and the many lessons we must face in order to learn from our mistakes. King Lear calls into question many different ethical dilemmas and it makes us as humans question our own beliefs and how we interact with each other. King Learis not only a terrific story but it is an example and a guide to show us the events that could happen when we drift away from those we love and we focus more on material things. Throughout the play king Lear, Shakespeare incorporates many different themes within the play. But truly the three biggest themes are the abuse of power, betrayal, and loyalty. Throughout the play, the reoccurring theme... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Loyalty is one of the strongest bonds people can form and it shows in the play king Lear with many different characters. The first character that displays true loyalty throughout the whole play is the nobleman Kent. Even after the king banishes him from the kingdom Kent still finds his way back into the king s life and ends up being one of the few people that actually care about the king. Kent s loyalty towards the king was so strong he would even fight and confront anyone that treated his master wrongly. This is a true sign of loyalty and when everyone started abandoning Lear Kent was the constant at his side never wavering always there for Lear to lean on, this is true loyalty. A knave rascal, an eater of broken flesh, a base proud, shallow, beggarly, three suited, hundred pound, filthy worsted stocking knave (2.2.13 15). This quote again shows that anyone that disrespects the king in front of Kent will be sure to hear it from him and it speaks to his character. It shows that Kent is not afraid to stand up for what he thinks is right and that no matter what he will always be there for the king even if he doesn t have his powers. The next example of loyalty is the fool. He has been by Lear s side from the beginning and it is ironic that he is by his side when everyone else is gone. Prithee nuncle be contended tis a naught night to swim in (3.4.105) this quote shows that the fool is very close to the king as he calls him nuncle so he has been there through thick and thin with the king. It also shows his loyalty he followed the king out into the blistering cold for nothing only because he was loyal. He cared for the king and he wanted him to be safe and that is a great example of loyalty by the fool. The lesson Shakespeare delivers here is that there are very few people in life that would lay down their life for you and have absolute loyalty to you until the day you die, and those people ... Characters And Evil In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies In the beginning of William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies , readers meet four young boys from ages 11 13 who have been stranded on a deserted island with no adults after a flight from home. Readers come to understand the relationship between Ralph, Jack, Simon and Piggy get complicated and violent once all laws and rules have disappeared by the end of the novel, 2 boys are dead and the have changed dramatically. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech for the novel, Golding stated that, ... men produce evil as bees produce honey. His statement is that Golding believes that human nature is automatically evil; he is right. Golding s view is that evil exists in all humans from birth; he is right. In the lord of the flies the author shows this clearly. They re all dead, said Piggy, an this is an island. Nobody don t know we re here. Your dad don t know, nobody don t know His lips quivered and the spectacles dimmed with mist. we may stay here till we die . ( 14 )This passage says Piggy is doubting about being rescue. When he says, they re all dead, he is referring to the people who were in the airplane with them before they ended up in the island. When Golding writes that Piggy s lips quivered, this shows us that piggy is afraid. This matters to the central idea of human nature because there s fear in the boys.In the lord of the flies , the author reinforces this idea. Albert Einstein (Buddhism) Buddhism has affected many people. From the Buddha s first followers to my next door neighbor, people everywhere have followed the teachings of Buddhism. One was an elderly man, another was a man suffering from illness, and finally he saw a dead body surrounded by mourners. Since he had never seen anything like this before, he asked his charioteer what these things were. He responded to the Prince that these things were natural and unavoidable, and happened to everyone. Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him out into the city; this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life forever. The last sight he saw was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was completely shaved and he was wearing a yellow robe. Having seen all these things, Buddha not only became aware of the pain and suffering of humankind, but was also prompted to do something about it. He left his family in search of the answers to his questions (Buddhism). Siddhathra traveled throughout the northeastern portion of India, seeking out holy men and teachers who taught him ancient Indian techniques of meditation. Even though meditation was important to him, his main quest was to find the answer to the problem of suffering. He wanted to know why they were suffering and how it could stop. So Siddhartha studied the teachings of Hinduism. He was very fascinated by the belief of reincarnation or Samsara. Caged Bird Thesis Thesis Statement: Maya Angelou s poem, Caged Bird, demonstrates her emotional stress of grief and desire for freedom, which stems from her personal struggle as an African American woman and from the viewpoints of her peers. She chose to write about her thoughts through beautiful poetry which related to her past dealing with racism, sexuality, and separation. Like an unfinished painting, the autobiographical series is an ongoing creation, in a form that rejects the finality of a restricting frame. Its continuity is achieved through characters who enter the picture, leave, and reappear, and through certain interlaced themes self acceptance, race, men, work, separation, sexuality, motherhood (Lupton 257). i. • 10. The Scarlet Letter And The Making Of A Pearl Sarah Thompson Mr. Carter English III 7 November 2017 The Scarlet Letter and the Making of a Pearl Every pearl begins as a dangerous and harsh intrusion into life. A piece of dirt is inserted into an oyster s environment where it doesn t belong. The oyster can either respond by dying, or by accepting and surrounding the sand with care. With continual care, the oyster turns the small speck of dirt into a beautiful pearl. The Scarlet Letter is a story of how one woman takes a scandalous event and rather than allowing the event to define her, she, by constant kindness, turns her life and her child into something of worth. The theme I am focusing on in The Scarlet Letter is the person and the concept which embodies courage and redemption. To ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The oyster must believe that it can survive the intrusion of the sand particle. Similarly, Hester decides that after being socially shunned she would have to daily overcome the negative statements from around her and the negative thoughts within her. Hester shows courage under all the stigma when she entered the Governor s hall (Hawthorne 98). Even though people are judgmental and cruel, she stays strong. This is a positive example of courage just as when an oyster accepts and nurtures a piece of dirt. A negative example of courage is Dimmesdale and his deceitful heart toward his sin. He is like the oyster that doesn t accept the piece of sand and dies because of the intrusion. He hides the fact that he is also a guilty party in the sin and as a result, he can t forgive himself and slowly withers away under the social pressure (Hawthorne 238). The final example of courage is Pearl herself. She is symbolically the piece of sand. Being raised under Hester s care, Pearl s nature is an embodiment that she is not wanted by her community and only loved by her mother. Pearl shows great courage by not conforming to the expectations of those around her. Yes, she is sometimes very demonic like (Hawthorne 126), but she is not a coward like her father. She doesn t let society define her, she defines herself. Throughout the process of turning a grit of sand into a pearl, the oyster must keep courage. Likewise, the theme of courage is represented in the book as Hester grows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They wanted America to join the Allied Forces and go to war, but couldn t do much about the US policy of non interference at the time. Hence, Captain America came into existence. Steven had been born on July 4, 1922 in the lower east side of Manhattan to poor Irish immigrant parents. He was an orphan by the time he was in his teens and, disturbed by the rise of the Nazi party, desperate to fight against them. His repeated attempts to enlist in the army, however, were rejected because he couldn t pass the physical. Steve s persistence, however, paid off when he was selected to be a test subject for a super soldier project where a special serum created by a Professor Reinstein would instantly and permanently turn him into a stronger and faster soldier codenamed Captain America. Every superhero needs an evil to fight, and for Joe Simon, that evil was Adolf Hitler. As I peered out toward the horizon, I saw nothing but tree tops, and some snow capped mountain tops in the distance. With my feet bound to freshly waxed skis, the only thing stronger than my skipoles was my determination to get down the mountain. I turned to my right, only to see the immediate drop off of the ski slope. The pole was pushed up into my lower abdomen, propelling me off of the slope entirely, I was airborne. Unsure of any injuries, the ski patrol had braced my back and neck, strapped me to a board, and began to tow me down the mountain. I spent the next three hours in the lodge under the watchful eye of a very pleasant paramedic, who prescribed me the perfect blend of warm blankets and hot chocolate. Impact Of Computer In Medicine And Medicine Computers and Medicine Technology is vital to society in today s age and it affects almost every single thing that goes on in a person s daily life. I believe technology has spread to nearly every field, even if it is a minor use of it. Transportation, conversation, banking, and even working places have some sort of technology with it now. But what is going to be discussed in this Wiki is the impact that technology and computers have made with medicine and healthcare. The creation of technology changed the way healthcare is being received, and even organized. The introduction of electronic medical records, to finding cures that humans thought would not be possible, healthcare has changed right in front of everyone s eyes. Let s discuss what exactly a computer is and how technology is changing in the field of healthcare and medicine. What is a computer? According to dictionary.com, a computer is a programmable device that reads data, performs calculations, and outputs the results of the data. How are computers used by doctors to deal with medical efforts? In today s age, computers help patients and the hospital communicate together for reasons, such as booking appointments at home or in office, sending medical prescriptions to pharmacy, or just in house communication between doctors and nurses. Friedrich Nietzsche, The German Philosopher Tia Holenstein Professor Tevanyan RS 100 20 October 2015 Nietzsche and Agnosticism I chose to conduct my research on Friedrich Nietzsche, the German philosopher. One of the main reasons I decided on him, is because of my personal beliefs. I am agnostic and Nietzsche s philosophy has an atheistic view on religion, which I resonate with. Nietzsche was born in a small village in Germany on October 15th 1844. He often spoke of an idea called life affirmation , which basically means questioning everything honestly. He is one of the most famous philosophers and he had an interesting look at philosophy. He believed philosophy was not a critique of words by means of other words (untimely meditations) but it is a practical way to help your self grow, overcome and become a greater person. By doing this one would be able to affirm life no matter what tragedies you are faced with, There are heights of the soul from which even tragedy ceases to look tragic (Beyond Good and Evil). He considered himself to be a teacher to these great individuals or the higher man his target audience. Inside the higher man there are different instincts/drives that are forever battling making them a chaotic being. This results in suffering and possible self destruction. To reach life affirmation one must take hold of this chaos inside of them. Because that isn t an easy thing to do, a person might give in to a Herd Instinct . Out of the many worldviews discussed in the text, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, and in class three stood out to me for comparison. These three worldviews consist of Naturalism, Pantheism and Polytheism. Worldviews, although not always correct, are how people see the world and reflect on our expectations about life. Differences can be seen in beliefs such as if they believe in a spiritual world, a material world, or both. Worldview s purposes are to explain the purpose of man and the world. All three worldviews attribute the problems in the world to different aspects based on their beliefs and have diverse notions of how to resolve the world problems. Although a few similarities can be found among these world views, there are multiple differences found. When attempting to explain the purpose of man and the world, all three worldviews use different approaches. Naturalism believes man is here by chance, that humanity just happened and one day it will phase off the earth. Polytheism takes the approach of men and creatures on earth being the creation of gods and were put here to entertain the gods and spirits. Pantheism believes only in a spiritual world, so everything outside the spiritual world is an illusion. Naturalism and Pantheism are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum ... From symbolizing character growth to the healing of physical wounds, music plays an integral part in this novel. Throughout the novel, Inman, Ada, Ruby, Stobrod, and many other characters experience music that allows them to keep faith against the odds or even heal their wounds! But Monroe preached that they were misunderstanding the song if they fooled themselves into thinking all creation would someday love them. What it really required was for them to love all creation (78). Monroe used the hymns of his church as a means to spread his ideas of how people ought to live their lives. This pattern is also apparent with Inman. When he meets Swimmer, a Native American, he learns of a chant that could kill the soul of an enemy (20). Inman cannot accept this notion because he had been taught by sermon and hymn to hold as truth that the soul of man never dies (20). Charles Frazier believed in the power of hymn to influence what people believed about spirituality and the soul. This parallels the historical usage of hymns in church during the Civil War as well as in today s church as a means to pass down culture. Hymn music also had the ability to strengthen the Church and to solidify the beliefs of the parishioners. There is a large disagreement over the influence of religious music over a person s beliefs. The evangelical song leaders believed that religious music moved people with no faith to a life dedicated to praising God, but people from outside the church described religious music as cheap and tawdry (Squire 242). All of the categories have advantages and disadvantages. In the following paragraphs I will list out the advantage and disadvantages of the categories mentioned above. First, let us start with aggregate data. Aggregate data can be used to detect patterns or similarities from numerous groups of patients. This data helps healthcare organizations and healthcare providers develop a plan of care or prevention of illnesses and a better understanding of how to properly manage a disease process. With the use of aggregate data, vital signs and other lab work can be tracked on a daily basis and if there is a need for a different dose or type of medication, it can be caught early and corrected. A disadvantage of aggregate data would be that there is underlying factors that is not disclosed and because of the underlying factors, the data gathered is not beneficial when it comes to treating the patient. • 34. Sign Language Should Be Taught In Public Schools Essay There are many opportunities in the world today. But has anyone ever stopped to think if they are the right ones? Public schools have languages they offer to take as an elective to learn and use later in life. Usually Spanish, French, German and Japanese. But what about the people who cannot speak or hear a language? What are they supposed to do? Not giving equal opportunities to all students is quite unfair. That s why I propose that there should be sign language courses taught in public schools. There are, of course, thousands of schools around the world for the deaf or hard of heating. To me, that sounds very secluded. To make a special school for a group of people because they re different in some way, well I don t think that sounds fair.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would teach all heating children priceless communication skills and encourage their physical fluidity, expressiveness, and development. And not only would it get rid of received prejudices towards the deaf or partially heating (based on healing adults fear of being unable to communicate without awkwardness) but it would end the disability status of the deaf. Deaf Connections is a charity in Scotland that is spearheading the first steps towards a project like the one Richard Sinnott proposed, by helping youngsters in Glasgow to learn the basic signing skills. The project is being carried out in conjunction with Glasgow City Council s education department and is being supported by a grant from the National Lottery. Only 16 states in the U.S. have schools with the option of sign language in their schools. To me, that number isn t nearly large enough. There should be options of sign language in every state. Better said their needs to be fair opportunities in every state. Now in Portland Public Schools if a proposal for sign language was made all that would be said is that there aren t enough funds. Well, how about we get some funds. I thought Education was the most important thing in school. I guess not because they re using so much money on sports and not enough on the education value in ... Once the plants had developed mature roots they were transferred to a pot of soil where they remained for the rest of their time. As time passed one of the pinto beanplants dried out and the other was fertilized producing a bean pod, which can be seen in the picture for week 14. This could have occurred because of the competition that plant faced for sunlight and water. The cross sections demonstrated the basic differences that distinguish a monocot plant for a dicot plant. When looking at the cross section of the monocot stem you can see that the vascular bundles are scattered. These vascular bundles consist of only a phloem and xylem. The phloem is responsible for transporting soluble compounds (food) created by photosynthesis, to the rest of the plant, especially where they are needed. The xylem is important for the movement of water throughout the plant. Another difference that can be seen by looking at the cross section of at stem is that the ground tissue (parenchyma) is not partitioned into pith and cortex. In the dicot stem cross section the vascular bundles form a ring and they are made up of a phloem, xylem, and a cambium which divides the two. The ground tissue (parenchyma) for a dicot is separate into a pith (nutrient storage and distribution) and a cortex (conducting tissues). The Leaf cross sections reveal the venation of each plant. For monocots, the veins appeared run parallel to each other, while the veins for the dicot plant had no clear pattern. When compared to traditional intervention methods, equine therapy is a bit more cost effective, meaning more families can afford equine therapy. With this in mind, it shows promise of becoming a standard form of early intervention for individuals with disabilities (Holmes et. al. 120). As the childages, research is showing more and more support for equine therapy. It was mentioned previously how equine therapy can help a child in the classroom. Research shows that equine therapy can help a child in nearly every aspect of his or her life. Equine therapy proved in one study that it helps children with intellectual disabilities with their balance, thanks to the stimulating movements of the horse(Biery et. al. 1). Motor skills have improved after just a few sessions in equine therapy, whether it be riding or hippotherapy (Snider et. al. 1). In addition, researchers have found that social skills have improved with equine therapy (Bass, Dunchowny llabre 1266). The reason for the improvement in social skills is because in therapeutic riding lessons, children are given the chance to interact with other individuals who are similar to them. This creates a bond between the students. Individuals in hippotherapy gain social skills because of the interactions they have with a therapist, and the bonds formed with the horse. Overall, China has a relatively high Human Development Index (HDI) ranking of 90 out of 188 countries ( Human Development Report ). This ranking is reflective of the major development that has occurred in Chinathroughout the last few decades, but the country s almost mid tier position is indicative of necessary progress that has yet to take place. To explore this topic a little more, one aspect of the HDI, the Multidimensional Poverty Index, captures China s level of poverty at 5.2 percent, while 22.7 percent of the population stands at the edge of multidimensional poverty ( Human Development Report ). Despite the fact that complete multidimensional poverty is relatively low, socioeconomic disparities affect over a fifth of the Chinese population. Not to mention, this level of poverty can be especially magnified within certain groups or ethnicities. In the documentary On a Tightrope directed by Petr Lom, this occurrence is investigated as the producers film the daily lives of four Uighur orphans in the province of Xinjiang, China. In creating the film, the producers focus on the lives of the orphans as they interact with the tradition of tightrope walking. Contrary to that fact of radical atheism, however, the satire of religion is generally mild. However, other minor gods also exist, with Thor being a recurrent character. Another particularly memorable moment is when Zarquon, a Jesus surrogate character, returns to the Universe... a few seconds before the Universe ends (Galaxy, II 272), demonstrating how Adams believes that even if religions are correct, that would not change much. Finally, Adams satirizes religion very effectively with the in book device, the Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy Mk. II, which is a device which appears to be a bird, but has immense power. God indeed exists in The Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy, but that s about the extent of His powers. His entire involvement in the series is minimal. It also important to note that candidates are elected based on who receives the most votes. This means that it is easy for constituents to not only identify which representative was elected to serve them but to hold them accountable as well.
