GENDER
I asked this question as I wanted to know the audience’s point of view of what
gender they think will be seen the most through the magazine. If found out that my
audience thought that in a rock magazine males are seen more often and that will
guide me to produce a magazine that maybe focuses more on the males than
females. This is because then I will be sure that male’s will buy the magazine.
However, two people said that both genders would be seen in the rock magazine.
This tells me that I should use both genders in the magazine so that people see
variety in my rock magazine. The result of this question was that 80% people chose
males, 0% people chose females and 20% people chose both. In my opinion, I
thought that a better majority of the audience would’ve picked females as the
audience however the majority was mostly males. This went wrong as I wanted to
make a Rock magazine that was mostly based off, of females as there aren’t a lot of
female rock magazines on the market. This means that I will have to focus on males
however, I can focus on females as well as some people in the audience picked both
genders. This tells me that stereotypically most of the audience still think that the
genre of rock is still targeted mostly towards males. Now I am thinking of making my
magazine more universal however, I would like to stand out to the male gender more
as I can see that the male gender dominates the rock genre.
FONTS
I asked this question as I wanted to find out which font was most suitable for a Rock
music magazine. I wanted to see which font was picked the most and then I would
use the font more frequently throughout the magazine as it would stand out more to
the audience. From this I was hoping to see which of the fonts mostly suited the rock
genre and this way I would learn about more about the genre and what sorts of
things rock fanatics like to see in a magazine. The result out of the 4 questions given
to them was: 30% for the first font, 20% for the second font, 0% for the third font and
50% for the fourth font. This tells me that the target audience likes the fourth font the
best as it is bold and it stands out to the audience which shows that the rock genre is
bold and out there. This represents the rock genre as a very out there genre and that
it appeals to people who like to go all out. I am now thinking of including the 3 most
popular fonts throughout the magazine and this will catch the audience’s attention. I
will use the font that got 50% on the front page of my magazine.
ETHNICITY
I asked this question as I wanted to see what ethnic group was most popular in a
rock music magazine. This would then tell me what ethnic group is most likely to
read and what ethnic group is most likely to be seen in the magazine. This helped
me learn that the white ethnic groups are popular and I should probably use them
throughout the magazine the most. The result was 100% white. This tells me that the

background are shown. Also, this tells me that only white ethnic people mostly buy a
rock magazine. This tells me that the rock genre mostly focuses on white ethnic
backgrounds. I am now thinking of including people who are from white ethnic
backgrounds mostly throughout the magazine.
