Question 1
In this bar graph it shows me that
the people who completed the
questionnaire were mostly 11-20
this is good as this is my target
audience so it means I will get more
accurate results because they know
what is in rock magazine and why
they might buy the magazine so
they know how to get more people
to read the magazine this was
73.33% of all the people who took
my magazine which is 11/15
people. Also there is 3 people who
were 21-30 which is 20% which is
good as they are at the end of my
target audience so I can also see
what people think of and 1 person
is 41-50 which is 6.6% this is good
as not only my target audience can
read my magazine its also available
for other ages.
Question 2
This question is whether
the people doing the
survey were male or
female 8 females did my
survey which was
53.33% and 7 males did
the survey which was
46.6% and my target
audience is males so I
should use the same
answers as the males as
there opinions re the
most important.
Question 3
This question shows which
socio-economic need the
participants have and there is
one person who is in B middle
management which is 6.67% as
A higher management is no
one. C1 which is office
supervisors is 13.33% which is
two people and C2 is skilled
manual workers which is
26.67% and 4 people and D is
semi skilled workers which is
13.33% being 2 people. Finally,
the highest is E which is
unemployed which is 6 people
that is 40% of the people doing
the survey this is good as my
target audience is most likely to
be unemployed as the have to
be in education.
Question 4
This question is important as it
shows me what colours I
should use on my front cover
of my magazine red, white,
yellow and black was 2 people
out of 15 which is 13.33% and
my highest is red, white and
black which was 8 people
53.33% which shows this is
defiantly the colour I should
use in my magazine. This is
because white and black was
20% as it was 3 people ,red
and white had no people and
black and red was only 2
people as it was 13.33%. This
demonstrates that in my
magazine I should use red,
white and black as it is the
most popular.
Question 5
On this question everyone
could write who hey thought
would be the best person for
my rock magazine some of the
best answers were green day,
the killers , Axel rose,
Nickleback and Bastile. Also
my most common answer was
Paramore this means I could
use them and put them on the
front cover which would add
star appeal (Richard Dyer) as
more people will want to read
the magazine because
Paramore are very popular in
rock.
Question 6
This question shows which
promotions people prefer this
could be put on the front cover of
my magazine so it acts as puff
promotion and it means more
people will want to buy the
magazine so they can win
promotions. There was a clear
winner of which promotions to
use which was concert tickets
which was 11/20 people and one
person wanted Spotify tickets and
ITunes vouchers which is 6.67%
and lastly 13.33% said they would
want to win an album signed
which was 2 people.
Question 7
For the content for my
double page spread I am
going to use interviews as
66.67% which is 10 people
out of 15 said it’s the most
popular options and 3 people
wanted concert information
which was 20% and 2 people
said they would want album
reviews so I need to come up
with some questions to
interview someone for my
double page spread which
could relate to there life or
there life at singer.
Question 8
This question shows which
name I should use for my
magazine which could be
catchy so people remember it.
The most popular name was
Rock It which was 40% and 6
people this is a good name
because its catchy and Rock
Repay was second which was 5
people and 33.33%.Lastly,
Rock Block is 4 people which is
26.67% this is good as rock it is
a short snappy name and its
simple to remember.
Question 9
On this question people has to
write what they thought was the
most important prop to have on
the magazine and they has to
write what they thought so 11of
the people thought a guitar would
be a good prop which will help
everyone to know the genre of
the magazine and two people said
it would be good to have a
microphone this is good as it
demonstrated what the celebrities
play or sing. Two people also said
they thought drums would be a
good addition to the magazine
and one person said black clothes
and black eyeliner.
Question 10
This question shows what is
the most important part of the
front cover that I have to
include and focus on to make
sure it is the best it can be this
is a main image which is 13
people and it is 86.67% of
people this shows I need to
make sure I have a good
picture from there arms up
and make sure it is a good
model. Everything else was
zero except the master head
which was 1/15 and the
strapline was 1/15 so the title
and the strapline which will be
below it are important.
Questionnaire
Question 1
The biggest age group in
my questionnaire is 11-20
this is good as this is the
main age group in my
target audience and 41-
50 was the second
biggest amount doing the
questionnaire. Lastly, 51-
60 and 61+ of people are
both equal parts so my
main audience is 11-20
which is a good way of
knowing what to be in my
magazine as the people
dig my questionnaire are
my target audience.
Question 2 This question shows how
much people would pay for
my magazine at maximum
nearly everyone said they
would pay £2.00-£2.99 this
shows this is the price my
magazine is and 1 person said
they would pay £4.00 and
more and one person said
they would pay £3.00-£3.99
this shows that as know said
they would pay £1.00-£1.99.
This shows that I should
charge at the top end of two
pounds as people are willing
to pay three pounds and more
so I will charge the magazine
at £2.99 as this is in the
middle of what everyone
would pay.
Question 3 Most people said they
would like the magazine
to be advertised via
YouTube this is a good
way of advertising as I
could put it on specific
rock music videos so it
will be specified for my
target audience and
some people said on
the radio this is also a
good way to advertise
as they might listen to
rock stations but this
shows me I should use
YouTube
advertisements ass it
appeals to my target
audience more then
other advertisements.
Question 4 The most popular
colour scheme for my
magazine is red, white,
yellow and black this is
good as it gives the
magazine lots of colour
but it is still not too
simple so there is more
colour which will
outline important parts
of the magazine and
some people said red,
white and black were
good colours this is
also good because it
still has lots of colour
but it is still similar to
more rock magazines.
Question 5
The biggest promotion
people prefer on my
magazine is concert tickets
which is good as on my
survey people also said
they would want concert
tickets. Nott far behind are
Itunes vouchers and album
sighed which is 2/7 for
each one. This
demonstrates that concert
tickets are the most
important parts of
promoting my magazine.
Question 6
My magazines most
popular name is Rock it
this is good as in my
survey it was also the
most popular name so it
emphasis that it is the
name that my magazine
can be called. Also rock
block was second which
shows if I don’t use the
name Rock it then I can
use Rock Block as it is
the second best name
for the magazine.
Question 7
In the questionnaire
most of the people
who completed it
was female and
some people were
male which was 3/7
and 4/7 were female
which demonstrates
that it is quite equal
but males are my
target audience so it
might not be so
accurate.
Question 8
The questionnaire shows
clearly that my magazine
is going to be a monthly
magazine as 7/7 people
would rather buy it
monthly. Also, this is
good as it means that I
have more time to make
the magazine and it
means each month it will
be higher quality as I
have more time to make
the magazine.
Question 9 This pie chart shows that
there is not just one part
that is extremely important
in my magazine so I should
use all the techniques to
make sure the magazines
high quality but puff
promotion is the highest
but not by far this includes
competitions like winning
concert tickets and the
main image is also the top
most important as it is
what attracts the reader
first as it’s the biggest part.
Also the pull quote is
important and the selling
lines as it shows how
popular the magazine is.
Question 10
In my questionnaire I asked
people what the most
important props were and
they came up with 4 main
things which were drums
which was half the answers
and then the guitar was the
second most popular prop.
Next the hat was important
and the tattoos as it adds to
the individual characters in
the magazine and the
overall aesthetics and
house style of the
magazine.

Primary research evaluation template

  • 1. Primary Research Reflections Name: Emily Vaughan Candidate Number: 3147 Center Name: St. Andrew’s Catholic School Center Number: 64135
  • 3. Question 1 In this bar graph it shows me that the people who completed the questionnaire were mostly 11-20 this is good as this is my target audience so it means I will get more accurate results because they know what is in rock magazine and why they might buy the magazine so they know how to get more people to read the magazine this was 73.33% of all the people who took my magazine which is 11/15 people. Also there is 3 people who were 21-30 which is 20% which is good as they are at the end of my target audience so I can also see what people think of and 1 person is 41-50 which is 6.6% this is good as not only my target audience can read my magazine its also available for other ages.
  • 4. Question 2 This question is whether the people doing the survey were male or female 8 females did my survey which was 53.33% and 7 males did the survey which was 46.6% and my target audience is males so I should use the same answers as the males as there opinions re the most important.
  • 5. Question 3 This question shows which socio-economic need the participants have and there is one person who is in B middle management which is 6.67% as A higher management is no one. C1 which is office supervisors is 13.33% which is two people and C2 is skilled manual workers which is 26.67% and 4 people and D is semi skilled workers which is 13.33% being 2 people. Finally, the highest is E which is unemployed which is 6 people that is 40% of the people doing the survey this is good as my target audience is most likely to be unemployed as the have to be in education.
  • 6. Question 4 This question is important as it shows me what colours I should use on my front cover of my magazine red, white, yellow and black was 2 people out of 15 which is 13.33% and my highest is red, white and black which was 8 people 53.33% which shows this is defiantly the colour I should use in my magazine. This is because white and black was 20% as it was 3 people ,red and white had no people and black and red was only 2 people as it was 13.33%. This demonstrates that in my magazine I should use red, white and black as it is the most popular.
  • 7. Question 5 On this question everyone could write who hey thought would be the best person for my rock magazine some of the best answers were green day, the killers , Axel rose, Nickleback and Bastile. Also my most common answer was Paramore this means I could use them and put them on the front cover which would add star appeal (Richard Dyer) as more people will want to read the magazine because Paramore are very popular in rock.
  • 8. Question 6 This question shows which promotions people prefer this could be put on the front cover of my magazine so it acts as puff promotion and it means more people will want to buy the magazine so they can win promotions. There was a clear winner of which promotions to use which was concert tickets which was 11/20 people and one person wanted Spotify tickets and ITunes vouchers which is 6.67% and lastly 13.33% said they would want to win an album signed which was 2 people.
  • 9. Question 7 For the content for my double page spread I am going to use interviews as 66.67% which is 10 people out of 15 said it’s the most popular options and 3 people wanted concert information which was 20% and 2 people said they would want album reviews so I need to come up with some questions to interview someone for my double page spread which could relate to there life or there life at singer.
  • 10. Question 8 This question shows which name I should use for my magazine which could be catchy so people remember it. The most popular name was Rock It which was 40% and 6 people this is a good name because its catchy and Rock Repay was second which was 5 people and 33.33%.Lastly, Rock Block is 4 people which is 26.67% this is good as rock it is a short snappy name and its simple to remember.
  • 11. Question 9 On this question people has to write what they thought was the most important prop to have on the magazine and they has to write what they thought so 11of the people thought a guitar would be a good prop which will help everyone to know the genre of the magazine and two people said it would be good to have a microphone this is good as it demonstrated what the celebrities play or sing. Two people also said they thought drums would be a good addition to the magazine and one person said black clothes and black eyeliner.
  • 12. Question 10 This question shows what is the most important part of the front cover that I have to include and focus on to make sure it is the best it can be this is a main image which is 13 people and it is 86.67% of people this shows I need to make sure I have a good picture from there arms up and make sure it is a good model. Everything else was zero except the master head which was 1/15 and the strapline was 1/15 so the title and the strapline which will be below it are important.
  • 14. Question 1 The biggest age group in my questionnaire is 11-20 this is good as this is the main age group in my target audience and 41- 50 was the second biggest amount doing the questionnaire. Lastly, 51- 60 and 61+ of people are both equal parts so my main audience is 11-20 which is a good way of knowing what to be in my magazine as the people dig my questionnaire are my target audience.
  • 15. Question 2 This question shows how much people would pay for my magazine at maximum nearly everyone said they would pay £2.00-£2.99 this shows this is the price my magazine is and 1 person said they would pay £4.00 and more and one person said they would pay £3.00-£3.99 this shows that as know said they would pay £1.00-£1.99. This shows that I should charge at the top end of two pounds as people are willing to pay three pounds and more so I will charge the magazine at £2.99 as this is in the middle of what everyone would pay.
  • 16. Question 3 Most people said they would like the magazine to be advertised via YouTube this is a good way of advertising as I could put it on specific rock music videos so it will be specified for my target audience and some people said on the radio this is also a good way to advertise as they might listen to rock stations but this shows me I should use YouTube advertisements ass it appeals to my target audience more then other advertisements.
  • 17. Question 4 The most popular colour scheme for my magazine is red, white, yellow and black this is good as it gives the magazine lots of colour but it is still not too simple so there is more colour which will outline important parts of the magazine and some people said red, white and black were good colours this is also good because it still has lots of colour but it is still similar to more rock magazines.
  • 18. Question 5 The biggest promotion people prefer on my magazine is concert tickets which is good as on my survey people also said they would want concert tickets. Nott far behind are Itunes vouchers and album sighed which is 2/7 for each one. This demonstrates that concert tickets are the most important parts of promoting my magazine.
  • 19. Question 6 My magazines most popular name is Rock it this is good as in my survey it was also the most popular name so it emphasis that it is the name that my magazine can be called. Also rock block was second which shows if I don’t use the name Rock it then I can use Rock Block as it is the second best name for the magazine.
  • 20. Question 7 In the questionnaire most of the people who completed it was female and some people were male which was 3/7 and 4/7 were female which demonstrates that it is quite equal but males are my target audience so it might not be so accurate.
  • 21. Question 8 The questionnaire shows clearly that my magazine is going to be a monthly magazine as 7/7 people would rather buy it monthly. Also, this is good as it means that I have more time to make the magazine and it means each month it will be higher quality as I have more time to make the magazine.
  • 22. Question 9 This pie chart shows that there is not just one part that is extremely important in my magazine so I should use all the techniques to make sure the magazines high quality but puff promotion is the highest but not by far this includes competitions like winning concert tickets and the main image is also the top most important as it is what attracts the reader first as it’s the biggest part. Also the pull quote is important and the selling lines as it shows how popular the magazine is.
  • 23. Question 10 In my questionnaire I asked people what the most important props were and they came up with 4 main things which were drums which was half the answers and then the guitar was the second most popular prop. Next the hat was important and the tattoos as it adds to the individual characters in the magazine and the overall aesthetics and house style of the magazine.
