Connecting Factors Essay
United Kingdom courts may consider additional connecting factors in establishing domicile of origin,
such as adoption. If the factor of adoption is not present in the case, United Kingdom courts do not
permit changes of domicile of unmarried children under the age of 16 unless their parents from whom
they depend change their domicile. The only exception to the general rule can be inferred from
Section 4 of the Domicile and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1973, according to which the domicile of
dependency may be established in the light of the following connecting factors: a) changes of the
father s domicile may justify changes in his child s domicile; b) the mother is entitled to elect whether
her child s domicile must be changed with hers, under the condition of the father s death or of when
the child is illegitimate. However, the factor of adoption changes everything, as it allows an adopted
child to receive a new domicile of origin derived from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are: a) jurisdiction; b) applicable law; and c) recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments.
In the United Kingdom, the aforesaid three domains are determined by connecting factors. In respect
of the first domain, English courts tend to establish jurisdiction by means of the following connecting
factors: nexus and ties between things, person, country, transaction, place of occurrence, etc. In the
context of the second domain, English courts often connect legal categories to applicable laws, such as
contract, succession, or tort in order to make decision with regard to the laws that apply to a specific
dispute or case. With regard to the third domain, English courts decide on the recognition and
enforcement of foreign judgments by way of focusing on outstanding facts that make it possible to
establish natural connection between factual patterns and specific system of

The Development Of The Kidneys
The embryological development of the kidneys occurs in three successive phases: the pronephros, the
mesonephros, and the metanephros. Because of the nature in this development, there are many forms
of congenital abnormalities associated with the kidneys. Because of their close developmental
association, there is also a complex relationship between the reproductive system and the urinary
system. During the pronephros phase in foetal development, by day 22, the intermediate mesoderm
(identified lateral to the paraxial mesoderm) gives rise to nephrotomes (nephric vesicles) in the
cervical region via the transformation of epithelial cells. The collection of the nephrotomes is referred
to as the pronephros and will proceed to develop in a cephalo caudal direction. However, the
pronephros is non functional and will atrophy within a few days. By day 23, the next phase of
epithelial cells are induced to develop (lateral to the somite) by the pronephric duct as it elongates
caudally into the thoracic region. The new epithelial tubules (mesonephric tubules) continue to receive
a blood supply from capillary tufts branched from the dorsal aorta. The mesonephric tubules envelope
the capillary tuft and are analogous to Bowman s capsules and glomerulus, respectively. These tubules
are now functioning for a short period of time to filtrate the blood into the continuation of the
pronephric duct, now known as the mesonephric duct or Wolffian duct. Between 24 and 26 days, the

Leonardo Da Vinci was a True Renaissance Man
Leonardo Da Vinci was a true Renaissance man. He was an inventor, a scientist, a mathematician and
a painter. He had the mind and visions of a thinker centuries ahead of his time. Hundreds of years
later, he is still one of the most recognized and iconic people in the world, known for his Paintings like
the Mona Lisa and changed the way paintings and art were created. But one success Da Vinci had that
is not as well known as his iconic art such as the Last Supper are his inventions. Leonardo Da Vinci s
genius achievements in his creations sketches, and ideas of inventions were able to impact generations
of people in the future significantly, but his inventions did not impact much of world history.
Leonardo Da Vinci s life began as an average but poor child in the midst of the Italian Renaissance. A
period where the main focus wasn t on religion and was more focused on secular themes and
creativity. He was born in 1452 in Vinci Italy and was raised on an estate belonging to his father, while
his uncle also helped raise him. Da Vinci never received a full education like others, but his artistic
abilities were noted by his father who eventually apprenticed him to a well known sculptor Andrea del
Verrocchio, of Florence (History ). When apprenticed, His skills as an artist developed, flourished and
even intimidated his mentor (Da Vinci s Inventions). Although he was gifted at his artistic abilities, Da
Vinci was looking to expand on his abilities and add more skills. He

Lease reporting regulations are contained in the GAAP FAS 13 and IFRS, IAS 17. The primary
differences entail the regulations on the leveraged assets, discount rates awarded to the lessee,
leaseback transactions under capital leases and operating leases as well as the profit or losses (Ashok,

Therefore, the CFO and the CEO should perform Risk Weighted Receivable and record the

The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry Essay
The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry
Many of Robert Frost s poems contain the vital ingredient of nature . Frost uses nature as a metaphor,
primarily, in his poems to express the intentions of his poems. He uses nature as a background
metaphor in which he usually begins a poem with an observation of something in nature and then
moves towards a connection to some human situation. He uses rural landscapes, homely farmers and
the natural world to illustrate this human psychological struggle with everyday situations that we seem
to experience.
Frost uses blank verse in The Wood Pile by using an iambic pentameter. This is very typical of Frost in
his nature poetry. We get this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker does not know which road to take; neither of the roads is less travelled by. He has to
make a decision and at the end of the day, the nature of the decision is that there is no Right path, just
a chosen path and the other path as show in The Road Not Taken .
The Wood Pile is appealing, but the point Frost is trying to make could be perhaps speaking of human
effort and what it comes to or hinting at despair. But the last two lines are warming and carves itself
into the poem permanently, perhaps ending the poem with a sense of hope, in that the wood decays,
generating heat, which makes it have some uses, even though it has been abandoned and left to rot, yet
it is a hopeless task all the same. In The Wood Pile , there was hard snow , which held the speaker
back from going any further, but the speaker persists on, but to only get lost. This leads the speaker to
the woodpile to a revelation of human effort, despair and decay, here is an example where Frost uses
nature as a barrier in his poems, but in a worthwhile way.
Another example of this is in the poem, Mending Wall . We have two men meeting only in terms of
civility and neighbourliness to build a barrier between them. They do so out of habit and tradition. Yet
the earth conspires against them, whether at hands of hunters or the

Prelude and The Wasteland by T.S. Elliot
In our daily lives, we are too busy to do the things that we always want to do. So, we live lives of
boring repetition. However, we have become adjusted to it so almost none of us complain. T.S. Eliot
was born in St. Louis, Missouri and eventually moved to London, England. Extremely well educated,
Eliot wrote many highly praised poems. For example, The Waste Land was assembled out of dramatic
vignettes based on Eliot s London life. Another poem, Preludes, talks about the daily lives of people
where it starts off simple, but leads into something deeper than everyday life. Three reasons why I
relate to Preludes by T.S. Eliot are evenings, mornings, and spiritually. In Preludes by T.S Eliot, a city
is being described by all the things that happen in the evening. The smell of steaks is everywhere.
When this poem was composed, steaks were inexpensive and were commonly eaten by members of
the lower class. I can relate to this part of the poem because my family cooks steaks and my town
calms down in the way that the city being described does. The poem then goes on to describe how a
gusty shower wraps the grimy scraps of withered leaves about your feet and newspapers from vacant
lots. The streets are gross and unattractive and the street lights flicker on and off. Parts of Worland
have grimy looking streets and houses like this city does. A lonely cab horse chugs along the darkened
streets. I believe that part of the poem is telling us that life is empty at night and everything

The Case Of Richard And Mildred Loving
Richard and Mildred Loving were arrested in 1959 for violating South Carolina s anti miscegenation
statue, barring interracial marriage between people of color and whites. The Lovings, who had to
travel hundreds of miles to Washington DC to legally wed in an attempt to appease South Carolina
law, were charged and found guilty for cohabiting as man and wife, against the peace and dignity of
the Commonwealth (Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967). As part of their sentence, the Lovings were
forced to leave the state of South Carolina and relocate in Washington D.C. After experiencing the
difficulties of living so far away from their friends and family, Mildred Loving wrote to the American
Civil Liberties Union who ultimately set the legal proceedings under the argument that the ... Show

Before this case, a number of states had anti miscegenation statues in place, criminalizing love in the
name of racism. This case brought an end to the acceptance of scientific racism in the realm of
marriage in that showed such legislation not as sound or logical but as hateful and unconstitutional.
Loving s legacy is strong even today, as it played a pivotal role in the groundbreaking same sex
marriage case, Obergefell V. Hoges, paving away for the legalization of gay marriage. Without this
case and the intervention of the federal government, states could have very well continued their
practice of anti miscegenation policies. The atrocities committed upon the Lovings and the millions of
couples affected by such hateful policies are an embarrassment to our nation s history. This case acted
as a federal resolve to past and future Americans fighting for the right to love. Loving V. Virginia led
the nation away from its dark past and towards a more equal future, filled not with scientific defenses
for racism but with scientific defenses against

The Imbalance Between Uniformity And Diversity
To match beliefs about diversity with practice, it becomes necessary to address the imbalance between
uniformity and diversity. Australia is the biggest example of having multiculturalism. In 2011, the
Census revealed that over a quarter (26%) of Australia s population was born overseas and a further
one fifth (20%) had at least one overseas born parent. This pattern of migration is evident in the make
up of the richly diverse society that has been recorded in the 2011 Census. This diversity can be seen
in the variety of languages, religions, ancestries and birthplaces reported by Australians (Australian
Bureau of Statistics 21 June 2102). Migration is social, cultural, technological, political and economic
integration, which also have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A child builds his basic life concepts at Primary age and when he is moved to a different environment
that never existed in his conceptual knowledge, it brings difficulty to him in adjustment. This

the immigrated students in Australia have different culture, different religious beliefs and different
language. Most sensitive dimension of diversity in schools is different religious beliefs of the students.
Equity in schools cannot be achieved by ignoring the different religious beliefs of its students.
To claim equity in schools it is necessary to eradicate the social injustice issues with the students
having different religious beliefs. Talking about religious diversity in a classroom, here is an example.
Upon entering his classroom during homeroom period, Mr. Ortiz, an eighth grade teacher, noticed
several students crowded around two of their peers, Nikhil and Jasper. Nikhil was the boy who
immigrated to Australia the previous year and was a Hinduism follower. Nikhil and Jasper were
arguing about something Nikhil was wearing. Mr. Ortiz asked the other student to explain the
situation. Mr. Ortiz came to know that Nikhil was wearing a swastika pendant in the memory of her
late grandmother, but that pendant was something similar to Nazi symbol which created disruption to
some students. Mr. Ortiz asked Nikhil if he knew

The Flawed System Of American Education
The Flawed System of American Education
The United States of America used to be known as one of the greatest countries to be apart of. From
the jobs to the economy to education people loved to be apart of the American culture. The problem
many Americans are facing today is poor education. Since America is viewed as a high profile country
many people have prominent expectations on what they are receiving, specifically the education. The
fact is that there are major problems with all levels of the education system today. Starting with early
education, teachers are quick to say children needs to be medicated or put into special education.
Proceeding to the general or high school education where kids are graduating but not prepared for
what s after. Lastly how higher education or college can hardly be afforded in today s society. As a
result of the failing education system, many parents blame the child or society when in actuality the
failing system is corrupted by some teachers, lack of preparation, and lack of affordability in higher
education. One of the most popular conversations parents have when their child is born is education. A
question that comes up is when should the child start school? The usual age to start kindergarten is
about five to six years of age. At a young age kids are like a sponge and learn a lot in the first few
years. Teachers are a great influence on the children considering they are at school between seven to
eight hours a day. Over time

Bayberry Candles Essay
Candles have cast a light on man s progress for centuries. However, there is very little known about
the origin of candles. Although it is often written that the first candles were developed by the Ancient
Egyptians who used rushlights, or torches, made by soaking the pithy core of reeds in molten tallow,
the rushlights had no wick like a candle. It is the Romans who are credited with developing the wick
candle, using it to aid travelers at dark, and lighting homes and places of worship at night.
Like the early Egyptians, the Roman s relied on tallow, gathered from cattle or sheep suet, as the
principal ingredient of candles. It was not until the Middle Ages when beeswax, a substance secreted
by honey bees to make their honeycombs, was introduced. Beeswax candles were a marked

However, extracting the wax from the bayberries was extremely tedious. As a result, the popularity of
bayberry candles soon diminished.
The growth of the whaling industry in the late 18th century brought the first major change in
candlemaking since the Middle Ages, when spermaceti, a wax obtained by crystallizing sperm whale
oil, became available in quantity. Like beeswax, the spermaceti wax did not elicit a repugnant odor
when burned. Furthermore, spermaceti wax was found harder than both tallow and beeswax. It did not
soften or bend in the summer heat. Historians note that the first standard candles were made from
spermaceti wax.
It was during the 19th century when most major developments affecting contemporary candlemaking
occurred. In 1834, inventor Joseph Morgan introduced a machine which allowed continuous
production of molded candles by the use of a cylinder which featured a movable piston that ejected
candles as they

Questions On Conflict Management On The Workplace
Conflict Management: How to resolve conflict in the workplace?

Conflict happens in any working relationship and it should not be avoided or ignored. Diversity is the
cause of conflict in the workplace because in almost every organization there is different cultures and
nationalities, and employees with different experiences, values, beliefs, and opinions. When conflict
arises in the workplace it is the manager s responsibility to resolve the issue as quick as possible.
Unresolved conflict can cause havoc in the workplace and can have a negative effect on the business.

observers to conflict among partners (Fox, 2015). Your decisions are essentially to turn away or

and you know they are not going to respond well, staying away from the contention is enticing
however incapable (Fox, 2015).
In my second research article by Heathfield (2016), she provides actions that should be avoided when
trying to resolve conflicts. She also provides ways to mediate and resolve conflict. According to
Heathfield (2016) these are the things to avoid when resolving conflict: Do not avoid the conflict , Do
not meet separately with people in conflict , and Do not believe, for even a moment, the only people
who are affected by the conflict are the participants.
In mediating and resolving conflict:
Meet with the participants together Let each quickly compress their perspective, without remark or
interference by the other party (Heathfield, 2016). This ought to be a short examination so all
gatherings are clear about the difference and clashing perspectives (Heathfield, 2016). Intercede if

The Issue Of Genetically Modified Organisms Essay
Genetically Modified Organisms, also known as GMOs, is one of the major issues arising in our
economy today. GMOs are distinctive organisms in which the genetic material has been altered to
improve productivity and the quality of the product. Genetically modified organisms have prominent
concerns over their apparent beneficial ways in that they re resistant to disease, help the epidemic of
famine, and improve the nutritional value of foods. Having certain foods in your everyday diet is very
substantial in humans to be healthy, and to have the quality of life we deserve. It s no secret in how
GMOs have affected our products worldly. In order to bring this epidemic to a halt we fist have to
come to an understanding on how dangerous these organisms can be. Genetically altered crops can
lead to serious destruction of not only our environment, but also contaminate our organic crops. Also
major companies who work with GMOs intend to monopolize market foods. To prevent these
Genetically Modified organisms, it should be labeled on their products, and so then people can be
aware of the danger that comes with these products. To understand genetically modified organisms,
you first have to understand how they are made. This helps you realize why they are so harmful to
your body. These organisms are modified by using bacteria and viruses. With known information like
this, scientific studies have a fear of the emergence of new diseases. Some GMO foods contain

What Are The Cons And Disadvantages Of Water
Water, is one of the crucial parts of life. Every living organism on our planet needs some combination
of water, or just plain water. Rivers are one of the natural features that transport water around the
biosphere. Water may flow over 1000 miles anywhere on Earth, which distributes water fairly well,
thanks to rivers. There are about 175 major rivers in the world. We, as humans, consume ridiculous
amounts of water, which keeps our world from dysfunctioning. Life is unimaginable without water,
which is why it is the most important resource for us, humans. We can t live for more than three days
without drinking it! In order to get the water we all need, we have found different solutions and

The first dam was built somewhere around 3000 B.C.. Over the years, we have built a lot of these
reservoirs, over 500,000 to be specific. A reservoir or dam is a wall built in a river, that keeps the
water from flowing, and stores large amounts of water behind the wall, since the water s flow is
interrupted. They are very helpful and efficient, but come with a number of worrying effects. I am
here to present three of the most critical flaws with dams and reservoirs, as well as present the pros of
these miracles.
When a reservoir or dam is built, all the water is trapped behind the wall, or in river terms, upstream.
Only groupings of people upstream of the dam have access to what s left of the river. Since the flow is
interrupted, people downstream of the reservoir or dam that rely on the river, have barely anything left
of it. Small villages, hamlets, and other fishing communities that survive thanks to rivers, start to
slowly destabilize or melt down. They can t drink, wash, eat, and are off limits to anything that
requires water, including transportation. Interrupting their access to the river is severe. If the
population downstream uses that one river for everything, where else are they going to get their
precious liquid?

Like everyone, Meursault has been born, will die, and will have no further importance. He then fully

Meursault stated deep down I know perfectly well that it doesn t much matter whether you die at 30 or

years. (Camus, 1946,

The Great Gatsby Argumentative Quotes
422726 Prompt 4 Comments The Hunt The human race can never be fully satisfied. There are goals
everyone tries to accomplish, hopes they want to achieve, and dreams they want to fulfill. Almost all
Americans want The American Dream of building up their own wealth, having the highest social
status, and lastly having a picture perfect family. Throughout the novel, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott
Fitzgerald, he reveals the truth behind the American dream: it is possible to build up an empire of
wealth, however, Americans can never get to the highest social class unless born into it, nor can they
ever have the ideal, perfect family. James Gatz through hard work and dedication turns himself into

Gatsby will never truly be as exclusive as the other high class members due to the fact he, along with
the other self made millionaires, are considered newly rich people [who] are just big bootleggers
(107). East Egg is home to the prestigious residents of old money including Tom and Daisy. West Egg
just across the bay is the less fashionable of the two, though this is a most superficial tag to express the
bizarre and not a little sinister contrast between them, which is home to Nick and Gatsby (5). A
distinction between the classes is their source of transportation. The people of West Egg drive the
modern, luxury cars, Gatsby himself included, who drives a rich cream color, bright with nickel car
(64), while the people of East Egg still believe horses are the best ways for transportation. Old money
folk believe horses are the more prestigious way to travel; Tom being from East Egg has a string of
polo ponies from Lake forest (6) giving him a sense of superiority. Gatsby [hasn t] got a horse (103)
since he recently came into his money, and is more into the modern luxuries the rich have to offer such
as cars. The people of East Egg look down on West Egg residents because in their eyes they are not as
good as themselves. The separation between the two classes cause the American Dream of being a
member of the highest social class to be unreachable for anyone including Gatsby. Not only can
Gatsby not reach the American Dream of being the highest social class, he will also never achieve the

The Open Boat Compare and Contrast Essay Rough Draft
This paper is about the story The Open Boat written by Stephen Crane. In this paper, I will try to
provide the similarities of the original story with the newspaper account. The differences in each
article will also be discussed. Lastly, I will provide a conclusion based on the facts of both articles.
The Open Boat begins with a description of men aboard a small boat on a rough sea. These men are all
survivors of a shipwreck. There is the cook, overweight and sloppily dressed, who is trying to remove
water from the bottom of the boat. The oiler, a physically powerful man named Billie who is rowing
with one oar. There is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He shares this thought with the other men, and the oiler smiles in sympathy. The men smoke cigars
drink their water and wait to be spotted by the lighthouse rescue crew, unwilling to run their boat
ashore in the rough waves. The lighthouse appears deserted. The men discuss rowing toward land
swimming through the surf once the boat finally capsizes in the rougher water that is closer to shore.
The crew knows that, over time, they will grow weaker and things will get worse, not better. They
exchange with each other addresses and admonitions , in case all of them do not live through this
whole ordeal Later, someone is seen on the shore waving to them. A while later, a crowd gathers,
disembarking from a bus. Despite their efforts to let the people know on shore they were in distress,
they realize that the people on shore are tourists and that they think they are just simple fisherman.
Thoughts of drowning run rampant in every man s mind on that boat. At dawn, the men decided that
their only chance is to row toward the distant shore again and swim when the boat finally capsizes. On
the Captain s order, the oiler rows the boat directly toward the shore. The boat capsizes and the people
on the boat are so weak that it is hard for them to even keep their heads above water. Suddenly, a man
appears on shore stripping his clothes off and running into the water. The rescuer

Argumentative Essay On Child Brides
Imagine viewing yourself standing against the backdrop of vibrant, beautiful tapestries wistfully
hanging from the wall behind. While taking a gander at the detailed rug underneath your feet, from out
of nowhere there are loud shouts and calls of joy and exultation, accompanied by the ringing of
cymbals, as a man in his mid to late fifties enters the room. Prominently, the man fully dressed in silks
and with a decorative ornament crowned around his head, recognizing him as the groom of the
wedding. Accordingly, as soon as he takes his seat at the wedding table, in a similar manner as the
groom, in walks a delicate figure no taller than your waistline. Notably, even though one can t observe
her face, the sounds of her relentless cries continuously heard, as the sight of her shed tears melt
through her beautiful red veil causing the light veil to stick upon her cheeks and mouth. Nevertheless,
she s forced to walk through the crowd and seated at the wedding table beside the older groom. Thus,
as the veil gets removed, to no one s shock, just your own, you discern she is just a child.
Emphatically, this depiction attended with other vivid descriptions are revealed in the article, Girls

Gymnastics has drastically changed since the time it began in ancient Greece. Looking back at it,

When Math and Science Rule the School Essay
In his essay Dehumanized: When Math and Science Rule the School published in Harper s Magazine,
Mark Slouka argues that mathematics and science are overshadowing important humanity studies
throughout schools all over the United States. Slouka s use of emotional and ethical appeals through
personal experiences and extensive observation offer insight into what he believes is a problem in our
modern society: Math and Science studies receiving more focus and importance than the humanities.
Slouka s target audience seems to be the young adults in the United States because they are the group
being affected by this shift in studies in colleges and universities, although our elders should be
equally concerned with the rising problem at hand. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanities are required for the development of an individual s creativity and expression, without
these skills our society would be monotonous and bland. Our nation was built on the ideals of freedom
and democracy, and although math and science help us to progress economically and technologically,
they don t help individuals to express themselves to be effectively represented by our government.
Furthermore, Slouka states that he is not taking away from the importance of math and science, he is
merely stressing the equal importance of humanities. Despite the fact that Slouka seems jealous and
mocking towards math and science at some parts in his essay, he does an equally effective job of
stating their necessity to everyday life. While expressing his idea of what teaching is for, Slouka states
It s about investing in our human capital...it s about ensuring that the United States does not fall from
its privileged perch in the global economy. Despite the fact businesses look for individuals who are
experienced in such areas as math and science, they are also interested in the ability to problem solve
and be creative, which cannot be taught by math and science alone. Slouka s goal is for the United
State s education system to find an equilibrium between what he likes to call mathandscience and the
humanities. If an individual is an

Difference in twins and clones
From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in
physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to be
somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many
are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is
a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of genetic material
called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in number in each cell and
are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology
and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins
made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host.
Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight
variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of two
types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining
is a biological process. There is another artificial process of making twins that is cloning, which
results same as twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed themselves

Natural Vs. Artificial Contraception
Natural vs. Artificial Contraception: What is moral? One would think the number one issue for women
s advancement in society in the twenty first century would be related to their careers: equal pay, better
maternity leave, or the removal of male hierarchical structures, etc. However, feminists, certain
politicians, and the media have put forward artificial contraception as the primary issue for women s
liberation. They claim women have a right to choose when they become a parent and with whom.
Women should have the sexual freedom of being able to engage in sex without consequences, so they
assert. Artificial contraception has allowed women to be more sexually active, but has it made them
freer? Catholic social teaching would answer that question in the negative. Artificial contraception has
made women slaves to sexual desires and stripped them of feminine personhood. This paper will
address how this objectification of women comes about from the disordered pursuit of pleasure and
pervasive cultural self centeredness in artificial contraception, and how NFP avoids such harmful
effects. People are formed by their actions. In our relativistic culture, we tend to think that things do
not have inherent meaning, but rather that they gain their meaning from the value one places on them
in terms of one s own desires (WSC, 113). People of this mindset do not see artificial contraception as
bad for they are being responsible in bringing a child in the world when they are

Kevin says Goodnight Kevin afterhis mom says it to him. This menas that Kevin wasnt really telling
himself goodnight he was mocking his mom. The movie Home Alone and the book Ransom of Red

Social Actors And Organizations As One Working Unit
Blumer lastly notes that although many methodologies observe large social actors and organizations as
one working unit, this does not allow the understanding of how the organization functions.
Researchers should look at the individuals within the organization to see how those individuals fit
together and how they interact. The interactions of the people within the organization paint a picture
of how the organization functions and makes its decisions. Blumer sums up his essay perfectly by
saying respect the empirical world and organize a methodological stance to reflect that respect
(Blumer 1986, p. 60). Criticisms of Symbolic Interactionism As with any theory there are critics of
symbolic interactionism. One weakness of symbolic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His reasoning behind why he believes this is a bit confusing and does not fully explain why this data is
unreliable. He does explain that data created from a recreated world is not useable which is
understandable because it is not being taken from the real world, but he does not fully explain why
quantitative data taken from the real world is inherently wrong. He dismisses any validity it may hold.
This is also confusing for the reader because he is very vocal about testability. He sees testability as
important but throws out research types with clear testability. Many believe that Blumer s symbolic
interactionism lacks hard evidence and testability. A person interprets a symbol and acts how they
choose to act. This lacks the ability to be tested incorrect. Because this theory allows for the actor to
respond in any way they want, then the theory can never be proven wrong meaning there is no
testability (Melzer, Petros, and Reynolds 1975). Skidmore (1975) points out that Blumer s theory does
not account for why an actor will make the same choice in a given situation. This paper allows for the
assumption that every time an actor faces a situation they consciously interpret it and then make a
choice on how to respond. This does not account for the unconscious acts and feelings that go into an
action. Some actions are made without a full understanding of why

Being A Coach
The importance of being a coach of a team is to encourage teamwork and enhance self confidence on
the pitch, as well as off. The coach is the structural foundation of developing a successful team. The
coaching role would include things like helping the team flow as one single unit other than multiple
little units, to help increase skill and teamwork and put the players together to create a winning
outcome. At their worst, coaches can push the psychological, emotional, and physical limits of their
players to the point of deleterious conduct, create a hostile and unfair environment, and turn young
athletes away from sports forever. Naturally every coach will need to know a variety of skills that
have to do with technique, obtaining omnipotent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first concern with being a coach is where to start with training the players. The coach is to
measure skill levels of the individuals, their mentality of the sport, and also, how they interact with
each other is key to being a coach. Secondly, the most important role of a coach is to be the role model
for his/her players and to be able to have patients and be forthright more often then not. A great place
to start coaching is by understanding the dynamics of the team. This is the process of figuring out how
team members relate to one another (Understand Team Dynamics). Forming positive relationships
with the players and also, the parents to acquire trust and assure the players a comfortable
environment would help with understanding dynamics. Gaining positive attitudes from everyone
involved will show a growth in skill relationship between the teammates, also the positive attitude will
make practices, games, and constructive criticism easier to come by. Having patients with the less
skilled is something that every coach needs to have. Individual athletes look to coaches for leadership
and encouragement beyond the sports environment, and this also carries over to athletic performance.
According to Athletic Insight, the relationship between a coach and a student athlete determines
overall motivation and stress levels (Leadership and Individual Performance). From personal
experience, when I had gotten along with a coach, and they were easy to talk to, the practices were
more fun to go to, the games were easier and all the players played as one unit. Getting constructive
criticism was easy to take and I became very coachable. The coach has more responsibilities than just
holding a practice, game, having a plan to the game or practice, but also bringing a friendly and easy
environment to be involved in. Coaches can push the psychological, emotional, and physical limits of
their players to the point of harm, create

in nature and the rich polytheistic culture and rituals shaped their daily life, art, religious beliefs,

their religious belief which influenced their whole existence changed based on the rise and fall of

Children s Testimony Of Judicial Proceedings Throughout...
Abstract
This research paper investigates children s testimony in judicial proceedings throughout the past few
decades. An increase in child abuse allegations in the 1980s resulted in mass allegations throughout
the United States. As a result, a child is interviewed by law enforcement and social workers regarding
what happened during specific incidents. Tactics to acquire the testimony of the children has been up
for debate by the judicial system and psychologists. These tactics include suggestibility, repeated
questions, or stereotyping that may alter the testimony of children to accommodate interviewers
biases, knowingly and unknowingly, resulting in false arrests and imprisonments. Psychological

Children s testimonies have serious implications for the accused and the question of whether or not
children are reliable sources of information have been brought to the attention of judges and cognitive
psychologists. The history of court proceedings allowing child witnesses to testify has seen an
increase in false accusations against teachers, friends, and family members, bringing to question as to
why or how a child may come up with false memories. Psychological research into the subject has
shed some light on some possibilities as to how some children may be susceptible to manipulations.
Research into children s memories has serious implications to society an individual s involved in a
specific case. Three outcomes are possible (a) the researchers may discredit the children s testimony in
real abuse cases and strengthens the defenses case against a real perpetrator; (b) the child who has
witnessed or experienced a crime testifies accurately and truthfully, resulting in a perpetrator going to
prison and not committing another crime; or (c) the child has given false accusations as a result of
faulty interview tactics by law enforcement or social service workers that result in false charges and
imprisonment. Cognitive psychologists take these instances into consideration when creating studies
regarding children s memories and relating them to the judicial system (Ceci Bruyn, 1993). One may

If the factor of adoption is not present in the case, United Kingdom courts do not permit changes of domicile of unmarried children under the age of 16 unless their parents from whom they depend change their domicile. The only exception to the general rule can be inferred from Section 4 of the Domicile and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1973, according to which the domicile of dependency may be established in the light of the following connecting factors: a) changes of the father s domicile may justify changes in his child s domicile; b) the mother is entitled to elect whether her child s domicile must be changed with hers, under the condition of the father s death or of when the child is illegitimate. Because of the nature in this development, there are many forms of congenital abnormalities associated with the kidneys. Because of their close developmental association, there is also a complex relationship between the reproductive system and the urinary system. During the pronephros phase in foetal development, by day 22, the intermediate mesoderm (identified lateral to the paraxial mesoderm) gives rise to nephrotomes (nephric vesicles) in the cervical region via the transformation of epithelial cells. The collection of the nephrotomes is referred to as the pronephros and will proceed to develop in a cephalo caudal direction. However, the pronephros is non functional and will atrophy within a few days. By day 23, the next phase of epithelial cells are induced to develop (lateral to the somite) by the pronephric duct as it elongates caudally into the thoracic region. The new epithelial tubules (mesonephric tubules) continue to receive a blood supply from capillary tufts branched from the dorsal aorta. The mesonephric tubules envelope the capillary tuft and are analogous to Bowman s capsules and glomerulus, respectively. These tubules are now functioning for a short period of time to filtrate the blood into the continuation of the pronephric duct, now known as the mesonephric duct or Wolffian duct. Between 24 and 26 days, the mesonephric ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry Essay The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry Many of Robert Frost s poems contain the vital ingredient of nature . Frost uses nature as a metaphor, primarily, in his poems to express the intentions of his poems. He uses nature as a background metaphor in which he usually begins a poem with an observation of something in nature and then moves towards a connection to some human situation. He uses rural landscapes, homely farmers and the natural world to illustrate this human psychological struggle with everyday situations that we seem to experience. Frost uses blank verse in The Wood Pile by using an iambic pentameter. This is very typical of Frost in his nature poetry. We get this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has to make a decision and at the end of the day, the nature of the decision is that there is no Right path, just a chosen path and the other path as show in The Road Not Taken . The Wood Pile is appealing, but the point Frost is trying to make could be perhaps speaking of human effort and what it comes to or hinting at despair. But the last two lines are warming and carves itself into the poem permanently, perhaps ending the poem with a sense of hope, in that the wood decays, generating heat, which makes it have some uses, even though it has been abandoned and left to rot, yet it is a hopeless task all the same. In The Wood Pile , there was hard snow , which held the speaker back from going any further, but the speaker persists on, but to only get lost. • 11. Prelude and The Wasteland by T.S. Elliot In our daily lives, we are too busy to do the things that we always want to do. So, we live lives of boring repetition. However, we have become adjusted to it so almost none of us complain. T.S. Eliot was born in St. Louis, Missouri and eventually moved to London, England. Extremely well educated, Eliot wrote many highly praised poems. For example, The Waste Land was assembled out of dramatic vignettes based on Eliot s London life. Another poem, Preludes, talks about the daily lives of people where it starts off simple, but leads into something deeper than everyday life. Three reasons why I relate to Preludes by T.S. Eliot are evenings, mornings, and spiritually. In Preludes by T.S Eliot, a city is being described by all the things that happen in the evening. The smell of steaks is everywhere. When this poem was composed, steaks were inexpensive and were commonly eaten by members of the lower class. I can relate to this part of the poem because my family cooks steaks and my town calms down in the way that the city being described does. The poem then goes on to describe how a gusty shower wraps the grimy scraps of withered leaves about your feet and newspapers from vacant lots. The streets are gross and unattractive and the street lights flicker on and off. Parts of Worland have grimy looking streets and houses like this city does. A lonely cab horse chugs along the darkened streets. I believe that part of the poem is telling us that life is empty at night and everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although it is often written that the first candles were developed by the Ancient Egyptians who used rushlights, or torches, made by soaking the pithy core of reeds in molten tallow, the rushlights had no wick like a candle. It is the Romans who are credited with developing the wick candle, using it to aid travelers at dark, and lighting homes and places of worship at night. • 27. Differences In Twins Compare And Contrast Subash Khanal ENGLISH 1113 @ TR@ 9:30 Mrs. Smith 8th Dec, 2016 Difference in twins and clones From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to be somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of genetic material called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in number in each cell and are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host. Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of two types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining is a biological process. There is another artificial process of making twins that is cloning, which results same as twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed themselves in a different ... • 28. Natural Vs. Artificial Contraception Natural vs. Artificial Contraception: What is moral? One would think the number one issue for women s advancement in society in the twenty first century would be related to their careers: equal pay, better maternity leave, or the removal of male hierarchical structures, etc. However, feminists, certain politicians, and the media have put forward artificial contraception as the primary issue for women s liberation. They claim women have a right to choose when they become a parent and with whom. Women should have the sexual freedom of being able to engage in sex without consequences, so they assert. Artificial contraception has allowed women to be more sexually active, but has it made them freer? Catholic social teaching would answer that question in the negative. Artificial contraception has made women slaves to sexual desires and stripped them of feminine personhood. This paper will address how this objectification of women comes about from the disordered pursuit of pleasure and pervasive cultural self centeredness in artificial contraception, and how NFP avoids such harmful effects. People are formed by their actions. In our relativistic culture, we tend to think that things do not have inherent meaning, but rather that they gain their meaning from the value one places on them in terms of one s own desires (WSC, 113). People of this mindset do not see artificial contraception as bad for they are being responsible in bringing a child in the world when they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social Actors And Organizations As One Working Unit Blumer lastly notes that although many methodologies observe large social actors and organizations as one working unit, this does not allow the understanding of how the organization functions. Researchers should look at the individuals within the organization to see how those individuals fit together and how they interact. The interactions of the people within the organization paint a picture of how the organization functions and makes its decisions. Blumer sums up his essay perfectly by saying respect the empirical world and organize a methodological stance to reflect that respect (Blumer 1986, p. 60). He does explain that data created from a recreated world is not useable which is understandable because it is not being taken from the real world, but he does not fully explain why quantitative data taken from the real world is inherently wrong. He dismisses any validity it may hold. This is also confusing for the reader because he is very vocal about testability. He sees testability as important but throws out research types with clear testability. Many believe that Blumer s symbolic interactionism lacks hard evidence and testability. A person interprets a symbol and acts how they choose to act. This lacks the ability to be tested incorrect. Because this theory allows for the actor to respond in any way they want, then the theory can never be proven wrong meaning there is no testability (Melzer, Petros, and Reynolds 1975). Skidmore (1975) points out that Blumer s theory does not account for why an actor will make the same choice in a given situation. This paper allows for the assumption that every time an actor faces a situation they consciously interpret it and then make a choice on how to respond. This does not account for the unconscious acts and feelings that go into an action. Some actions are made without a full understanding of why ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first concern with being a coach is where to start with training the players. The coach is to measure skill levels of the individuals, their mentality of the sport, and also, how they interact with each other is key to being a coach. Secondly, the most important role of a coach is to be the role model for his/her players and to be able to have patients and be forthright more often then not. A great place to start coaching is by understanding the dynamics of the team. This is the process of figuring out how team members relate to one another (Understand Team Dynamics). Forming positive relationships with the players and also, the parents to acquire trust and assure the players a comfortable environment would help with understanding dynamics. Gaining positive attitudes from everyone involved will show a growth in skill relationship between the teammates, also the positive attitude will make practices, games, and constructive criticism easier to come by. Having patients with the less skilled is something that every coach needs to have. Individual athletes look to coaches for leadership and encouragement beyond the sports environment, and this also carries over to athletic performance. According to Athletic Insight, the relationship between a coach and a student athlete determines overall motivation and stress levels (Leadership and Individual Performance). From personal experience, when I had gotten along with a coach, and they were easy to talk to, the practices were more fun to go to, the games were easier and all the players played as one unit. Getting constructive criticism was easy to take and I became very coachable. The history of court proceedings allowing child witnesses to testify has seen an increase in false accusations against teachers, friends, and family members, bringing to question as to why or how a child may come up with false memories. Psychological research into the subject has shed some light on some possibilities as to how some children may be susceptible to manipulations. Research into children s memories has serious implications to society an individual s involved in a specific case. Three outcomes are possible (a) the researchers may discredit the children s testimony in real abuse cases and strengthens the defenses case against a real perpetrator; (b) the child who has witnessed or experienced a crime testifies accurately and truthfully, resulting in a perpetrator going to prison and not committing another crime; or (c) the child has given false accusations as a result of faulty interview tactics by law enforcement or social service workers that result in false charges and imprisonment.
