Papilloma is a benign tumor that grows outwardly and produces frond-like growths that can develop anywhere on the body. Papilloma are commonly known as warts when they occur on the skin. The most common causes of papilloma are human papillomaviruses (HPVs). Papilloma can cause a variety of symptoms depending on their location, such as lumps, bumps, or discharge, and in rare cases can produce life-threatening complications by blocking respiratory tracts or increasing intracranial pressure. Treatment options include topical medications, cryotherapy, laser surgery, excision, or surgical removal depending on the type and location of the papilloma.
