Synthesis Lab
Introduction: The purpose of this lab was to utilize roasting, smelting, spectroscopy, and the carbonate
test in order to determine the identity of an unknown copper mineral. I determined that the most useful
of these tests in determining the mineral was roasting because it provides a fairly accurate percent
composition of copper in the unknown mineral.
Results: The purpose of performing the variety of tests that we did was to give more accurate results
of what the unknown mineral was. By roasting the copper mineral, we obtained copper(II) oxide. This
new sample came out of the crucible grayish black. It was very brittle and full of cracks. This provided
the percent composition that was necessary in finding the unknown mineral. When performing ...

The small sample fell apart after the roasting process, making it hard to separate from the charcoal.
Also, I think allowing more time to let all the copper(II) oxide be smelted would have increased the
accuracy of our results.

Types of Marketing Strategies on Foreign Markets
Types of Marketing Strategies on Foreign Markets
On the single European market, the development of a company marketing strategy should be preceded
by a market research to identify the following elements: the potential capacity of selected segments of
the market for a relevant industry, consumers tastes and needs, appropriate methods for entering a
market (including identification of the methods employed by major competitors), as well as the
necessary degree of product standardisation and differentiation.
The marketing strategy means setting a long term objective for an enterprise, as well as identifying the
instruments, methods and measures for its achievement. In the classic approach, M. Porter
distinguished three major market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, shifting from a double concentration strategy to a domestic concentration strategy
equals a product development strategy (modified or upgraded products for new groups of buyers on
the same foreign market).
A departure from a segment concentration strategy towards a double diversification strategy results in
a product development or innovation strategy (upgraded or new products are offered to new segments
in the same foreign markets). Replacing a domestic concentration strategy with a double
diversification strategy resembles a market development strategy (going out from one country s
segments to similar segments in many countries).
Besides, the objectives of company operations allow several strategies to be identified [16,17].
■ expansion,
■ defending the position,
■ selective development.
The first of these aims at enhancing sales, profits and the market position. Yet it is difficult to
implement, as an enterprise must have large disposable funds, the competition cannot be too strong
and there must be an unmet demand for the enterprise s products. It is also necessary to precisely
examine the market of an enterprise s operations and to make investments whose value must largely
exceed those carried out under other strategies. All this exposes the activities to a high risk.
The strategy of attempting to defend the existing position is quite frequent, as it is less costly than the
strategy of expansion. It aims to conserve the

Introduction
Well known companies like Nike, Microsoft, Sony, Shell Group are just some of the big companies
that went global and expanded their trading around the world, they are large businesses that operate
internationally in many countries. Development of worldwide integration urges companies to reach
out international markets and interact with foreign customers. Businesses focus on fulfilling the
demand of the market by its products or services, their focus is also increasing profit, and to achieve
these goals they favor to expand their work in a foreign market. Other reasons to internationalize their
business may be to become stronger than the other competitors and also to lower their expenses by
getting resources they need at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Uppsala Model considers two types of knowledge objective and experience based knowledge.
(UPPSALA MODEL) After first entrance firms understands how to work in foreign country, and later
they step by step increase level of internationalization to physically distant countries.
Can Uppsala model be applied to services? This model was mainly reliable for manufacturing
industries; a paper with contrary arguments was published by BRAZIL providing two variables;
environment related and service specific, to question whether Uppsala model can be used for service
firms. Psychic distance and uncertainty in environment, need for quality, face to face contact with
clients in service delivery, capital intensity are some of the arguments that contradicts Uppsala Model.

Mainly services would choose a mode to internationalize that has higher control like licensing.
In 1990s in USA the business service companies used franchising as a method to internationalize their

In Recent Years, Public Sector Organizations Increasingly
In recent years, public sector organizations increasingly leverage collaboration as a means of
overcoming resource constraints and solving complex problems such as natural disaster preparation.
Collaboration offers a means of achieving synergy among the public sector, private sector, and non
governmental organizations when strategizing, preparing, and responding during times of impending
disasters. When faced with such a complex challenge, various federal, state and local agencies unite to
develop and implement an emergency response plan, outlining essential responsibilities (Perry Nigg,
1985). This paper describes the need for stakeholders along the west coast of the United States to
conduct disaster response planning collaboration to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, according to U.S. Code Title 18, it is not legal for the U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force to assist with
law enforcement activities. Thus, under disaster conditions, only the local police or state controlled
National Guard elements may conduct law enforcement and peace keeping. Stakeholder organizations
or communities may expect assistance from federal military units to respond to their policing needs,
but the federal military units must contact the local police or National Guard to respond. This can
create significant friction because of stakeholder organization or community expectations.
Second, resource management for disaster relief is another complicated friction point. Each
organizational member of the council has their own methods for managing and acquiring resources
and supplies and maintaining capacity. The aforementioned issue of authorities creates legal
considerations that organizations must rectify prior to the sharing of resources. Additionally, since
each organization may use separate methods for resource management, this could cause numerous
friction points from management philosophies to automated systems passing information. Finally, if
some communities or organizations perceive there is unfair sharing of resources, this can create
significant disruption to these communities or organizations squabble among each other.
Third and finally, communication is another major friction point that the

The Green Party Research Paper
The Green Party took off heading to Western Europe and would soon find itself at the other side of the
world and hit the United States. It became extremely popular in Germany, turning from the Value
Party to Die Grnen (the Greens). It was considered the mother of all Green Parties (Arthur) and was
given a strong presence there and later gained many seats. The party still routed in environmentalism
focused on the climate change and global warming lost a lot of popularity to the citizens captivated
with a strong patriotism and little care for the environment. It later teamed up with the Social
Democratic Party but when it began to fail in the polls Germany went back to the conservative
Christian Democratic Party. About 5 years after the Green ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In order to meet the energy demand and a sustainable future, renewable energy is a better way to
achieve it.
Commonly, renewable energy is defined as energy which is able to be captured from existing natural
resources that are replenished rapidly, such as flowing water, sunshine, wind, geothermal heat flows
and ocean [2]. Renewable energy technologies are required to provide technologies to use one or
several renewable energy resources. There are some different types of renewable energy technologies,
which include solar energy, bioenergy, hydropower, wind energy, geothermal energy and tidal energy.
This thesis project will focus on the solar photovoltaic which is currently one of types of solar energy
technologies, and this technology using photovoltaic cells to converts sunlight directly into
electricity.Solar photovoltaic system can generate electricity from sunlight through using PV modules,
and the system can be integrated into building designs, installed on rooftops, or large scale power
plant. With the development of photovoltaic technologies, solar photovoltaic capacity has been
increased from 3.7 GW (2004) to 177GW (2014) [3]. Figure 2 shows this change from 2004 to 2014,
there is a big trend of increase in these years. The increase of PV capacity can reduce the carbon
emission and provides more job opportunities. It also helps to reduce air pollution and make a friendly
environment for living. One of the common PV system is

Essay about Social Security
Social Security
On a daily basis senior citizens face a choice between buying food, paying the rent, or buying
medicine. Senior citizens slice pills into halves because they can t afford their full prescriptions.
(Federal News Service Sept. 2002)
Social Security is what keeps many elderly and disabled Americans from being stricken by poverty.
Without Social Security in our society 15.3 million elderly would have incomes below the poverty
line, however after Social Security was added to the equation only 3.8 million elderly have incomes
below poverty. Three fourths of those elderly people who would have been poor without Social
Security were removed from below the poverty line by Social ... Show more content on

This is a topic that will effect everyone, those 65 and above, and those 65 and below. Both sides of the
argument are very persuasive and their perspectives can be found below.
· Brief History of Social Security
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Democratic President, invented Social Security as part of The New
Deal in the year 1935. Its invention was to combat the The Great Depression . It was invented along
with welfare to help America s elderly, disabled, and unemployed.
How Social Security functioned was a part of the workers check would be deducted and given to the
elderly as Social Security at that present time. Then in turn when that person came of age to retire
(generally 65) America s working force at the time would support them with a monthly check.
Sometimes that check would coincide with how much they made when they were working but not
always.
Since its creation in 1935 the Republican Party has been trying to change it. In 1935 the Republican
party opposed its creation, in 1964 the Republican party tried to make it voluntary , and now there is a
new debate on Social Security and privatizing it or parts of it.
· Current Policy by the Bush Administration (2000 2004)
When George W. Bush first took office he claimed that there would be no changes on Social Security
as part of his policies. Soon after he took office though things changed as he began to implement plans
to change social security and how

The Olympic Games During The Cold War
The Olympic Games has been a lens through which to scrutinize the world s political, social, and
economic spectacles. It has seen tsarist autocracy, fascism, despotism, and the great associated
movements of the political solidity and contrariety of communism and capitalism. During the Cold
War, sport was a sphere in which the USSR and the West competed bitterly. Following World War II,
the Soviet Union utilized the Olympics to assure the world of its superiority and to prove communism
s stability as a political ideology. Purportedly amateur, sport meant a lot to Soviet authorities, as did
awards and gold medals. Athletes often spent most of their time training in world class facilities, even
though they were meant to be factory workers or army officers. From 1950 to 1980, the United States
exploited the Games as a platform to undertake a propaganda operation against communism, releasing
an abundance of material to promote American ideals. On February 22, 1980, in Lake Placid, New
York at the XII Winter Olympics, one unlikely hockey game served as a catalyst for newfound
patriotism in America and marked the commencement of a new era in Soviet and American Cold War
politics. The tensions between the United States and the U.S.S.R following the 1980 Winter Olympics
and the Miracle on Ice represent strong, unwavering surges of nationalism. By analyzing the story of
how 20 men and a determined head coach shocked the world through the words of those present and

Animals are dying on a daily basis or living out their lives being abused or neglected. Statistics show
that more than five thousand animals are mistreated and neglected each year in Michigan#. This
number is increasing rapidly due to lack of knowledge of animal care, also the number increases due
to the lack of penalty for animal cruelty. I see a need to educate because of violence toward animals. I
plan to educate children to successfully care for their four legged friends.

Writing a school newsletter for the Source is a good way to inform people who have pets to care for
them. I would provide information on tips from my own personal experiences from volunteering at the
humane society and my pets. I would also provide resources on questions that are hard questions I
couldn t answer. I would ask the Humane Society to also put their newsletter in the Source as well.
This gives an opportunity to educate students on professional health care tips for pets. It also shows
how hard it is to care for a pet if one has never had a pet. Therefore, pets are not neglected. For
example pets should not be left outside in extreme weather. Put the animal in a warm garage or
somewhere else warm. Or did you know that it is state law to have an adequate shelter for your dog?
Many people do not know these laws or choose to ignore them. I think giving animal care tips on the
live news show is also a good way to inform people weekly.
Since the newspaper is monthly, it s good to have a weekly tip as well. As stated above in the previous
paragraph, the tips are helpful for you and your pet. I could have people send questions and answer
them on the air. I could give live demonstrations on pets from the humane society and have people
come in and try it themselves.

by George Savige relates so well to baking and how I feel when I do it.
Just do your best and smile a lot. You ll keep an even keel. This metaphor is so true in baking you can

Who Is Victor Frankenstein Responsible
I admire Victor Frankenstein creative ability to utilize his scientific knowledge to figure out how to
create a man. In order to accomplish this goal, I am impressed at the inordinate amount of time Victor
spent studying and learning how the body works in order to create a human monster. To me that s
impressive but Victor is extremely irresponsible by not including anyone when he is creating another
human. He is selfish and careless in his scientific research. When Frankenstein comes to life he does
not tell anyone about the human creature he created leaving the creature off into the world with no
guidance. Victor s irresponsibility of not understanding the capabilities of his scientific research and
abandoning it makes him careless and jeopardizes society. The decision not to locate the creature and

The purpose to create eternal life without dedication to complete the task of which you set forth was at
the cost of the lives of others, his own and the creatures happiness. Being irresponsible does not
overshadow his obsession, it demonstrates Victor had a more complex problem by creating another
creature, human or monster in secrecy. It is difficult for me to understand how when you create
something or discover something how you can be so unresponsive to completing the task which you
set forth to do. And the obsession to create life with the purpose to create but not take care of will
bring overwhelming unhappiness to the rest of your life. As a friend of Victor, I would advise him to
be responsible for his actions being his scientific creation and seek help to his scientific plan. I would
explain why it is important to share knowledge, thoughts, and intentions with others as a sounding

ideas, gain a well rounded perspective, and the ability to solve problems better taking on an idea or

Why Is Racism Wrong
Racism is the belief that a specific race is superior or inferior to another, that a person s social and
moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racism can also be
defined as the belief that some races are superior to others. This definition is not sufficient to describe
what racism truly is. For example, people who are racist do not like other races such as their skin
color, language, traditions, and place of birth or any aspect that supposedly reveals the basic nature of
that person. Long ago in America, racism was a very serious and immoral problem, and it is very
much a problem in today s society, as it was back then but on a dissimilar level. The African
Americans, labeled as Blacks, were slaves to white men. The slaves were disregarded, and beaten and
insulted badly. Thus, sparked the beginning of a war and civil rights movements, all in attempts to
resolve this problem. Although there is no flawless way to solve racism and it is evident that racism
will always exist, what can be done nevertheless, is to limit its magnitude as much as ... Show more

What continues racism is unawareness. A person may be raised doing a certain thing their whole lives
and everyone else around them is doing the same thing. It seems right to them, even if it seems
morally wrong to another individual that does not partake in same view on life. A group of people will
not see anything erroneous with their actions because they see their actions as the truth. The only way
to stop this ignorance is through education and awareness of their actions and the resulting
repercussions. A person s ignorance needs to be educated because it will continue to drive racism.
People who have been raised uninformed may be fed with negative stereotypes about other races, thus
increasing the chances of racism. For an example, parents show their children negative stereotypes in
which they will follow as they grow

Discipleship In Jesus
Discipleship
Teachers around the time when Jesus lived thought that learning was such that the people who wanted
to learn should come to them to be taught. But Jesus felt differently and rather than waiting for people
to come to him, he went out to find them and then chose them to be his followers. He called them
disciples and this word means one who learns. But Jesus chose his disciples carefully as we are told in
Mark 1:16 20 and also in Mark 3:13 19. In the first passage, Jesus appoints his first four disciples,
Simon, Andrew, James and John. Jesus said to them Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of
men. (Mark 1:17) In Mark 2:13 17, Jesus calls up the fifth disciple, Levi who was a tax collector, and

They have to rely on other people and as it is said in Morley s passage on discipleship, For they set out
with nothing but the word of God in their hearts.
When Jesus tells the disciples about the cost of discipleship (Mark 8:27 33) he means that they should
be prepared to put God and his commandments first before anything else, and they must be prepared
to suffer for their beliefs. Jesus told them that the most important commandment is Love God and
your neighbour as yourself, (Exodus 20: 3 17) and many disciples throughout the ages have made
many sacrifices to try and put this teaching into practise. When Jesus said to take up the cross, we can
assume that because we all have a cross to bear, we should take up our vocation, and that means for us
to follow Jesus regardless of the sacrifices we have to make. When we are told we should follow him,
it means that we should travel down the same road as Jesus and suffer the many trials of being a
disciple.
But, in Mark 10:29 31 we are told about the rewards of discipleship and the strange reward they
receive for their suffering. Jesus says this to the disciples after he tells them the story of the Rich
Young Man.
In this passage, the rich young man asks Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus tells him
that he must give up his wealth, but the man is unable to do so. The

Essay on Moliere s Tartuffe and the Religious Hypocrisy
Moliere s Tartuffe and the Religious Hypocrisy
Moliere s Tartuffe is a satire based on religious hypocrisy. Every character is essential in Tartuffe. All
of the characters play an important role, but it is easy to say that Tartuffe and Orgon are the main
characters. First, we must know the definition of satire. According to the Merriam Webster Online
Dictionary, satire is defined as literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn (
satire ). In other words, a satire is defined as literary work that uses humor to point out the foolishness
of a person or just in human nature. Religious hypocrisy can be self defined as a false assumption of a
person. What follows are examples of how I believe Tartuffe exposes humor ... Show more content on

In spit of the fact that Mariane wishes to marry with Valere; but she wants to please her father as well.
Dorine, Mariane s maid, questions Orgon by saying,
There s lately been a rumor going about Based on some hunch or chance remark, no doubt That you
mean Mariane to wed Tartuffe. I ve laughed it off, of course, as just a spoof (Tartuffe 2.2.5 7).
It is obvious to see at this stage in the story that many of the characters are in disbelief that Orgon
wishes Mariane to marry Tartuffe. Several of the characters have confronted Orgon about his decision
and have given their own opinions on Tartuffe is blindness. There have not been any positive
comments or statements made about Tartuffe to Orgon but Orgon stubbornly believes that Tartuffe is a
heaven s blessing. As the story progresses, Orgon is left with no other choice, but to believe what is
being said. But Orgon learns such wisdom at a near tragic cost.
Before Orgon is left to believe the statements about Tartuffe, it is the discussion between Orgon s
wife, Elmire, and Tartuffe that begins to reveal the truth of the rumors of Tartuffe. As Elmire and
Tartuffe talk about Orgon s proposal to marry Mariane, Tartuffe says that he would rather find
happiness elsewhere. It is at this point in the play that Tartuffe begins to reveal his feelings towards
Elmire.

Real-Time Analysis
Solution to the Problem An innovative solution to combat this issue is to have real time monitoring for
athletes deemed high risk. This may be done by creating a synthetic shirt, which is currently worn by
many athletes during activity already, that has three EKG leads and a telemetry unit built in the
material. It would be imperative to have the leads, wires, and telemetry streamlined to reduce
bulkiness, especially since the device would be worn under pads in sports like football and hockey. A
second step would be to develop a smart phone application that can wirelessly monitor each player s
cardiac rhythm by a trained sideline medical professional. This application would have real time
analysis monitoring for a concerning rhythm that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historically, when SCA does occur, the most successful outcomes happen when there is early
implementation of defibrillation attempts and advanced cardiac life support, including advanced
airways, cardiac stimulating medications, and post cardiac arrest hypothermia protocols (Piper
Stainsby, 2013). In other words, there is only a short window of opportunity to initiate life saving
measures before irreversible damage occurs to the cardiac muscle.
Additionally, having the telemedicine option provides immediate medical consultation in areas where
resources are limited. Often, best practice methods take time to be adopted due to skepticism of the
change, with rural areas traditionally lagging the most. The telemedicine provider can be trained based
on the latest research, essentially bringing the top experts to the scene of the event. The biggest
disadvantage would be the large monetary costs of the start up. Research and development of the EKG
shirt and of the smart phone application, distribution of the product, hiring telemedicine providers, and
implementing an effective marketing campaign are some of the obvious major costs. One could argue
that the relatively low estimated incidence rate would not justify the overall monetary cost.
Unfortunately, the costs would project past the

Apocryphal Gospels ...are those which the Church did not accept as part of the genuine apostolic
tradition, even though they themselves claim to have been written by one of the apostles ( What Are

was translated to mean secret and would later become to mean heretical . Apocryphal writings started
very early in the history of the church with their main purpose serving to fill in the early details of
Jesus life that had not been provided in the other gospels. While there is no exact number for how

The Pros And Cons Of Trade Secrets
Trade secrets bill with controversial civil seizure provision passes Senate
By Teague I. Donahey, Holland Hart LLP
Recently, Congress and the courts in the United States have been active in reining in what many have
seen as patent system that has run amuck. In the process, they have placed a number of limits on
patent holders ability to effectively and successfully enforce patents. But as opportunities to enforce
intellectual property through patent suits have been narrowed, another IP door appears to be opening.
For several years, Congress has been working on legislation that would, in effect, federalize what until
now has been a state by state system of trade secret law. The current version, the Defend Trade Secrets

Significant Controversy
Nevertheless, the prospect of ex parte seizures in the trade secrets context has generated significant
controversy in the United States. One major source of concern is the fact intensive nature and overall
complexity of trade secrets disputes. What exactly is the information at issue and does it qualify as a
trade secret? How, if at all, has it been maintained in secrecy? Does the target of the seizure really
have the information in his or her possession, and if so, how was the information obtained? Was
reverse engineering involved? And so on.
Even on a preliminary basis, the complex factual issues involved in trade secret disputes may not lend
themselves to fair resolution through expedited and non adversarial ex parte procedures. Indeed, it
does not take much imagination to conceive how, in the wrong hands, one sided ex parte seizure
proceedings might be used for improper

My Creative Process Of Visual Merchandiser
Visual Merchandisers have many employment options available in many different sectors. I believe
that displays are all encompassing. It is the little details that culminate a theme or feel that makes
customers want to shop at a particular store and have a certain type of experience. It is about making
an environment inviting, whether that environment is a store, a party, a home, etc. I strongly believe
that there is so much inspiration in the world that can be used to create compelling store displays that

The Godfather Opening Scene Essay
The Godfather is the story of Vito and Michael Corleone. Michael is the son of Vito who is the Don of
the Corleone mafia crime family. The Godfather depicts how an orphaned Sicilian immigrant rises to
the top of organized crime in America and how his son, who at first shuns his father s world, embraces
his father s way of life after the attempted murder on his father.
Mise en scene paints the picture of a film and is also known as what is on the stage. At the beginning
of The Godfather, the movie starts at in darkness with the words of the undertaker being heard saying,
I believe in America. We then see the undertaker come into frame. The low key lighting on the face of
the undertaker casts a dark shadow over the entire scene and immediately makes the audience feel the

Naturalism As A Literary Genre
Anyone who has read American literature will know of the significance of naturalism as a literary
genre in American literature. Merriam Webster s definition of Naturalism is as follows: A theory that
art or literature should conform exactly to nature or depict every appearance of the subject that comes
to the artist s attention, specifically a theory in literature emphasizing the role of heredity and
environment upon human life and character development. Naturalism went from being a movement in
the 19th and 20th century to the literary genre it is today. Even though some consider naturalism to be
stereotypical and one dimensional, naturalism remains an important literary genre in American
literature today because of it s ability to turn from a literary movement to a literary genre and it s
popular novelists and major characteristics remain front and center in American literature today. Emile
Zola created the term naturalism. Zola was a French novelist who sought a new and modern way of
convincing his readers of his fiction (Zhang 196). According to Xiaofen Zhang, naturalism is believed
to be a new and harsher realism (195). Naturalism became prominent in the late nineteenth century in
America. However, the Naturalistic movement had been going on for some time in Europe. The
movement of naturalism is heavily influenced by Charles Darwin s theory of evolution (Literary
Devices). Naturalistic writers had the belief that one s heredity and social environment determine, the

The Effects Of Heroin Abuse
Heroin use has steadily increased post Vietnam to current day, although it has seen a sharp climb in
recent years. This sudden spark in heroin addiction is termed the Heroin epidemic. The Heroin
epidemic can affect all members of society, and it does not discriminate between race, income level or
gender; the government fights the war on drugs but the community and mass media are vital in the
total annihilation of addiction and the epidemic. Many Heroin users first interacted with opioids, such
as painkillers which is a close relative to heroin, but the cost was too much, so they turned to a cheap
and destructive drug, Heroin. Heroin inherits its addictiveness from the opioid family. Opioids are
extremely addictive painkillers such as OxyContin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The drug is a part of the highly addictive opioid family, which are used to make painkillers needed by
many Americans. The issue is that the many Americans who have used painkillers, whether prescribed
or taken illegally, are forty times more likely to try heroin ( Today s Heroin Epidemic ). The epidemic
is hard to control because it effects everyone. Not one gender, race or economic level is considered
safe from the abuse of this substance. The government has been attempting to end the high levels of
abuse in America since the late sixties, but old methods proved costly and ineffective. The
transitioning of viewing heroin addiction as a crime to mental health has reaped some benefits.
Facilities now a days have made break throughs in assuring better futures for addicts by proving them
with proper treatment and arming them with correct knowledge of how to combat their disease.
Heroin has sparked an important discussion in society involving media, race, sex and economic status,
and the epidemic forced the federal government to act accordingly, which allowed communities to
properly react and try to lower addiction. Though the rise of heroin use will most likely continue, the
epidemic has to eventually come to an end; whether the government makes a final push to eliminate
drug use completely or police enforcement cuts down on dealers, the epidemic eventually

Throughout these ten years many social and cultural changes occurred leaving the United States to be

CDDP Induces Phosphorylation of TRAF6 Reducing Ubiquitination in the Cytosol Genotoxic stresses
are hypothesized to reduce K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 which would then cause TRAF6 to not be
recruited. K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 was assessed through stimulation with the genotoxic stress
agent CDDP. To test this hypothesis, an immunoprecipitation assay of mouse embryonic fibroblasts
(MEFs) was used to observe p53 ubiquitination in the cytosol of wild type and TRAF6 knockout cells
in the presence of CDDP for 4 hours. P53 was blotted as an input to ensure presence. This assay shows
that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 was only observed in wild type MEFs in the cytosol indicating
that TRAF6 is necessary for K63 linked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an immunoprecipitation assay, 293T cells testing wild type and mutated TQ/SQ sites in TRAF6 was
utilized to determine the effect of genotoxic agents on the phosphorylation of TRAF6 at TQ/SQ
motifs. The authors immunoprecipitated for flag asTRAF6 was tagged with the flag antibody. CDDP
and ATM/ATR were used as our tested variables. The assay elucidated that the double mutation of S13
and T330 on TRAF6 significantly reduced phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the presence of CDDP and
absence of ATM/ATR. Consequently, this data provides information for belief that mutated TRAF6 is
not sufficient for phosphorylation to occur in the presence of CDDP. Finally, a cellular fractionation
assay for 293T wild type and mutant TRAF6 cells with or without CDDP treatment tested whether
such mutation in the presence of genotoxic stress inhibits or promotes TRAF6 expression. As in the
previous fractionation studies, tubulin and laminB were loading controls. These results concluded that
the mutant displayed resistance to the CDDP mediated reduction of TRAF6 in the cytosol. Overall,
these studies suggest that CDDP induces phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the cytosol, which may
contribute to the reduction of K63 linked ubiquitination in the cytosol. The information provided thus
far suggests that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 is accomplished by TRAF6, which is hypothesized
to suppress spontaneous apoptosis. Moreover, genotoxic stress is shown to promote TRAF6

  • 2. Synthesis Lab Introduction: The purpose of this lab was to utilize roasting, smelting, spectroscopy, and the carbonate test in order to determine the identity of an unknown copper mineral. I determined that the most useful of these tests in determining the mineral was roasting because it provides a fairly accurate percent composition of copper in the unknown mineral. Results: The purpose of performing the variety of tests that we did was to give more accurate results of what the unknown mineral was. By roasting the copper mineral, we obtained copper(II) oxide. This new sample came out of the crucible grayish black. It was very brittle and full of cracks. This provided the percent composition that was necessary in finding the unknown mineral. When performing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The small sample fell apart after the roasting process, making it hard to separate from the charcoal. • 3. Types of Marketing Strategies on Foreign Markets Types of Marketing Strategies on Foreign Markets On the single European market, the development of a company marketing strategy should be preceded by a market research to identify the following elements: the potential capacity of selected segments of the market for a relevant industry, consumers tastes and needs, appropriate methods for entering a market (including identification of the methods employed by major competitors), as well as the necessary degree of product standardisation and differentiation. The marketing strategy means setting a long term objective for an enterprise, as well as identifying the instruments, methods and measures for its achievement. In the classic approach, M. Porter distinguished three major market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the Cold War, sport was a sphere in which the USSR and the West competed bitterly. Following World War II, the Soviet Union utilized the Olympics to assure the world of its superiority and to prove communism s stability as a political ideology. Purportedly amateur, sport meant a lot to Soviet authorities, as did awards and gold medals. Athletes often spent most of their time training in world class facilities, even though they were meant to be factory workers or army officers. From 1950 to 1980, the United States exploited the Games as a platform to undertake a propaganda operation against communism, releasing an abundance of material to promote American ideals. For example, people who are racist do not like other races such as their skin color, language, traditions, and place of birth or any aspect that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. Long ago in America, racism was a very serious and immoral problem, and it is very much a problem in today s society, as it was back then but on a dissimilar level. How, if at all, has it been maintained in secrecy? Does the target of the seizure really have the information in his or her possession, and if so, how was the information obtained? Was reverse engineering involved? And so on. Even on a preliminary basis, the complex factual issues involved in trade secret disputes may not lend themselves to fair resolution through expedited and non adversarial ex parte procedures. Indeed, it does not take much imagination to conceive how, in the wrong hands, one sided ex parte seizure proceedings might be used for improper ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Merriam Webster s definition of Naturalism is as follows: A theory that art or literature should conform exactly to nature or depict every appearance of the subject that comes to the artist s attention, specifically a theory in literature emphasizing the role of heredity and environment upon human life and character development. Naturalism went from being a movement in the 19th and 20th century to the literary genre it is today. Even though some consider naturalism to be stereotypical and one dimensional, naturalism remains an important literary genre in American literature today because of it s ability to turn from a literary movement to a literary genre and it s popular novelists and major characteristics remain front and center in American literature today. Emile Zola created the term naturalism. Zola was a French novelist who sought a new and modern way of convincing his readers of his fiction (Zhang 196). According to Xiaofen Zhang, naturalism is believed to be a new and harsher realism (195). Naturalism became prominent in the late nineteenth century in America. This sudden spark in heroin addiction is termed the Heroin epidemic. The Heroin epidemic can affect all members of society, and it does not discriminate between race, income level or gender; the government fights the war on drugs but the community and mass media are vital in the total annihilation of addiction and the epidemic. Many Heroin users first interacted with opioids, such as painkillers which is a close relative to heroin, but the cost was too much, so they turned to a cheap and destructive drug, Heroin. The epidemic is hard to control because it effects everyone. Not one gender, race or economic level is considered safe from the abuse of this substance. The government has been attempting to end the high levels of abuse in America since the late sixties, but old methods proved costly and ineffective. The transitioning of viewing heroin addiction as a crime to mental health has reaped some benefits. Facilities now a days have made break throughs in assuring better futures for addicts by proving them with proper treatment and arming them with correct knowledge of how to combat their disease. Heroin has sparked an important discussion in society involving media, race, sex and economic status, and the epidemic forced the federal government to act accordingly, which allowed communities to properly react and try to lower addiction. In 1969 much of the youth was embraced in the Summer of Love focusing on peace, love, and peaceful protests. Individuals were advocating for their personal beliefs in a way they never did before. However this all came to a crashing end in August when eight influential individuals were found murdered in their own homes. On August 9, actress Sharon Tate, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, and Jay Sebring were found at Tate s home and one day later, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were found murdered in the same brutal fashion. Cdp Lab Report CDDP Induces Phosphorylation of TRAF6 Reducing Ubiquitination in the Cytosol Genotoxic stresses are hypothesized to reduce K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 which would then cause TRAF6 to not be recruited. K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 was assessed through stimulation with the genotoxic stress agent CDDP. To test this hypothesis, an immunoprecipitation assay of mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) was used to observe p53 ubiquitination in the cytosol of wild type and TRAF6 knockout cells in the presence of CDDP for 4 hours. P53 was blotted as an input to ensure presence. This assay shows that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 was only observed in wild type MEFs in the cytosol indicating that TRAF6 is necessary for K63 linked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In an immunoprecipitation assay, 293T cells testing wild type and mutated TQ/SQ sites in TRAF6 was utilized to determine the effect of genotoxic agents on the phosphorylation of TRAF6 at TQ/SQ motifs. The authors immunoprecipitated for flag asTRAF6 was tagged with the flag antibody. CDDP and ATM/ATR were used as our tested variables. The assay elucidated that the double mutation of S13 and T330 on TRAF6 significantly reduced phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the presence of CDDP and absence of ATM/ATR. Consequently, this data provides information for belief that mutated TRAF6 is not sufficient for phosphorylation to occur in the presence of CDDP. Finally, a cellular fractionation assay for 293T wild type and mutant TRAF6 cells with or without CDDP treatment tested whether such mutation in the presence of genotoxic stress inhibits or promotes TRAF6 expression. As in the previous fractionation studies, tubulin and laminB were loading controls. These results concluded that the mutant displayed resistance to the CDDP mediated reduction of TRAF6 in the cytosol. Overall, these studies suggest that CDDP induces phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the cytosol, which may contribute to the reduction of K63 linked ubiquitination in the cytosol. The information provided thus far suggests that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 is accomplished by TRAF6, which is hypothesized to suppress spontaneous apoptosis.
