The London Inter Bank Lending Rate
Introduction
LIBOR, the London inter bank lending rate, is considered to be one of the most important interest
rates in finance, upon which trillions of financial contracts rest. The London Interbank Offered Rate (
LIBOR ) is often called the world s most important number,
As well as helping to decide the price of other transactions, it is also used as a measure of trust in the
financial system and reflects the confidence banks have in each other s financial health.
Libor acts as the rate at which the world s most preferred borrowers are able to borrow money, and as
an indicator for less preferred borrowers. The Libor is not important for just financial institutions, but
is also relevant to the common man. This benchmark for short term interest rates is used for retail
products such as college loans, credit card rates, student loans, and adjustable rate mortgages which is
roughly a ten trillion dollar market.
History
Begining of the 1980s, the London financial market saw an increasing number of banks actively
trading new instruments. As attractive as these new instruments like the forward rate agreement
seemed to the banks, they were apprehensive of the rates which had to be agreed upon before entering
a contract. To solve this problem, the banks turned to the British Bankers Association (BBA) to create
a uniform measure which could act as a benchmark for the new instruments. This uniform rate had the
ability to facilitate the operation of markets and allow more

North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
The United States, Mexico, Canada constitute the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA),
which in principle has eradicated all the barricades to trade among these states and developed a large
North American market. Myriad economic advancements have taken place because of this treaty and
are intended to enhance business in the region. Some of the most significant advancements encompass
the removal of tariffs and also import and export shares; the establishment of government procurement
markets to corporations in the other two countries; a rise in the opportunity to make savings in each

The Use Of Rubia In Aramaic
It s a tradition on Rosh Hashanah, to eat a variety of random foods as symbols for the upcoming
Jewish New Year.
Each food has a different meaning, weakly attributed to its name in Aramaic or Hebrew. At any given
time there is at least one food that you will find completely revolting (fish head anyone?) and a couple
others that you kind of like anyway.
But what you didn t know is that each food you like actually tells you everything you need to know
about your own personality and what type of neurosis awaits you in the coming year.
What s your hang up? Take the poll to find out!
Beans are called Rubia in Aramaic, which sounds like the word for multiplicity, i.e. you want your
merits to multiply .
Interpretation

I bet a lot of you would have picked date from this list. Well, guess what the word for date in Hebrew
is Tamar, as in may my enemies be finished (off) .
Interpretation
You and leek lover should get married. Have some nice Jewish babies together. At least you re not as
forceful about it he needs his enemies diced, you just want them ended. So on the spectrum of 1 to 10,
he s an 11 and you re an 8.
Good job. Keep being the voice of balance and reason in the world.
A timeless classic in the shtetls of Poland, the word for beet is Selek and it means you want your
enemies to be banished
Interpretation
Your sense of victimhood is so strong you are incapable of banishing your inner and outer demons
completely. At least Leek and Date have the strength of character to seek total annihilation of their
imaginary enemies. You prefer to banish them deeper in your subconscious where they can continue to
wreak havoc on your relationships and health. Your recurring migraines? Yup.
You were waiting for this one, right? That s why I put it at the end. We dip apples in honey in the
hopes that we ll have a sweet new year . For some reason even though it tastes great, Nestle hasn t
packaged it as a yearlong snack

Most Common Orthopedic Surgeries
What are the top most common Orthopedic Surgeries?
The Orthopedic Surgery involves treatment of the conditions of muscles as well as skeletons through
surgical methods. Initially, the orthopedic surgeons try to treat the ailment with non surgical methods,
but in the cases of failures of such methods the orthopedic problems are then treated through surgical
methods. There are many types of treatments that a surgeon performs on its patients according to their
problem, but there are some procedures that are noted as the most common. Here are 4 most common

Personal Narrative Of An Exorcist
someone from the exorcist movie. The cops finally got there, but they did not do anything because my
mom had not given her a proper eviction notice. My aunt was allowed to stay there until 30 days were
up, and I did not stay there at all while my aunt was there. In all honest, I was afraid to stay there after
what happened. When my aunt finally moved out, she left over half of her stuff and left the house a
mess. She had also stolen some of the things from the house that were not hers. Another thing she did
was put crosses all over the walls. One day when my mom and I were at the house, my mom was
walking in the hallway, and she noticed that there was something on the walls. After looking closely,
she noticed that they were crosses that were on the walls. I tried to figure out what it was that my aunt
had used to put the crosses on the walls, but it had no distinct smell. I don t think that anyone ever
found out what it was that she used on the wall. Anyways, my mom would go to the house day after
day to try to get it off the walls so the landlord would not find out what had happened. We never saw
my aunt again, (well maybe just once to get some of the stuff that she had left), but other than that she
never came around again. Chapter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

We met each other when we went to Sutter Middle School in eighth grade. She was a new student, and
she needed another class so she ended up being one of the TA s in my math class. To be completely
honest, I thought that Bella hated me when we were in eighth grade. She never talked to me, and I
always thought that she was glaring at me for something that I did, even though I had never done
anything to her. I didn t express my feelings about her though because I didn t know her, and I didn t

Direct Characterization Eliza Gant
Getting ready to go on stage, I felt the first stomach sinking feeling of being truly nervous, for the first
time in my life. Eliza Gant was the character staring in my high school s spring play, and she had
completely taken over my being. Her motherly instinct found its way into my teenage lifestyle, and
the way she approached conflict with a loud voice and obvious attitude altered my usually easy going
demeanor. I had never played a role so great and I was truly worried that my own unique
characteristics would come out on stage, unconnected with this woman who was so unlike me. When I
came exited the stage doors, finally able to address my family and friends who had come to support
my achievement, I was met with surprise. I found that my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

seemed to shape one another and become one, especially as the show came to its closing. My mother
saw the way I had used her traits to take on an empowered, though aggressive, motherly figure. My
emotions and way of addressing family members were taken directly from the approach I had
witnessed her in mothering my siblings and the many important phone calls she shared with her father
concerning their legal practices and daily lives. She hated seeing her bad traits come out on stage, but
loved the way I looked up to her with all the hard work that made its way into the part. I was
incredibly proud to find out how much people seemed to dislike my character. She was an
overwhelming and angry woman, something that I had never wanted to become. The way Eliza Gant
seemed to possess me was something that had never occured for any other character I performed, and
I was amazed at the feedback I received. So many people who knew me well acted as if they had

Miller Frederick-Personal Narrative
It was a fine, summer, Saturday when everything changed for a young teenager named Miller
Frederick. School had already started for Miller and he was at a new school. That summer, his family
had moved from Pensacola, Florida to Dewitt, Michigan so Miller didn t have many friends. He lived
in a very rural area so he didn t have many neighbors he could hang out with. Miller had just gotten
back from his first day at his new school and he became friends with another new kid from Germany.

The University Of North Florida
According to the Gallup Purdue Index Report, only 39% of the over 30,000 college graduates
surveyed had experienced elements of well being as well as felt engaged in their work (Great Lives 7).
Interestingly, the study also found there was no difference if they attended a public, private, non
selective, or a highly selective institution (7). Therefore, graduates of the University of North Florida (
UNF ) are doing the same in job engagement and well being as graduates from all other colleges.
Thus, less than half the graduates from UNF enjoy overall good lives; UNF must do better. UNF must
revise its education policy with the goal of having all of its graduates enjoy good jobs and good lives.
Amazingly, based upon my research this is not a Herculean task; the Gallup Purdue Index Report
found that if a graduate had a professor who captivated and mentored the graduate, then that graduate
had more than a 200% likelihood of having job engagement (7). Additionally, graduates were also
shown to have more than a 200% likelihood of being engaged in their job if they had experiential and
deep learning, which was having an internship, a job related to their major, a long term project, or
extracurricular activities while attending college (10 11). Therefore, the jobs and lives of UNF
graduates can be improved if they had been captivated and engaged in learning as students.

the law of conservation of momentum was conserved in this scenario.
For the second collision in part one, the change in momentum from initial conditions to final

Impact Of Globalization On Business And Foreign Markets
Globalization is economics that is worldwide and a powerful force. It is tendencies of business and
investing in domestic and foreign markets. The globalization strengthens the interconnections of
various markets. It is social and technological trends that shows policy changes. When looking at
economics worldwide one has to consider the history of trade, the relationship of tariffs, and the
standards in the industries.
International trade indicates a large part of the economic research of production growth. Market size
has grown from exports of a companies products. By exporting a company learns about the foreign
markets. The company may gain some expertise from feedback they obtain from the buyer. This is
called the learning by exporting theory.
The learning by export theory shows a link between the productivity and trade. It shows
improvements that is tied to the trades and resource reallocations. The theory relies on studies and the
cross industry with time variations within trade. This is a link between the countries. It can run mock
trails to find evidence of more productive in certain periods of time. For instance Egyptian
manufacturers of rugs may not have had as much opportunity to export their goods. Yet the production
levels increased as the rugs were later traded on the foreign market (Economic, 2016). Such studies
shows the improvements in productivity may not come from domestic reallocations.
Sometimes globalization can be an exaggeration in

Essay about African American Religious Music
African American religious music is the foundation of all contemporary forms of so called black
music. African American religious music has been a fundamental part of the black experience in this
country. This common staple of the African American experience can be traced back to the cruel
system of slavery. It then evolved into what we refer to today as gospel music. The goal of this paper
is to answer three main questions. What are the origins of African American religious music? How did
this musical expression develop into a secular form of music? What is the future of African American
religious music? These questions will be answered through factual research of African American
traditions, artists, and various other sources. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gospel music was developed and inspired by the blues and jazz that was storming the country. Many
traveling, singing preachers began to accompany themselves with piano and guitar. An example of this
can be found with a gentleman who many refer to as the father of Gospel Music, Thomas A Dorsey.
The son of a minister, Thomas Dorsey was a consummate musician and as a young man, he
accompanied some of the most famous blues singers of all time including Bessie Smith and Ma
Rainey. He also arranged and composed blues tunes. However, his penchant for bouncy tunes and
bawdy lyrics did not keep him from attending the annual meeting of the National Baptist Convention.
It was at these conventions that Dorsey first heard compositions of Charles A Tindley. Tindley inspired
him. Musical historian Arna Bontemps argues that it was at this point in Dorsey s life when he began
to write religious music. He abandoned his brash lyrics but not the jazz rhythms and blues flavor.
Naturally, older conservatives considered this blending of sacred music, such as spirituals and hymns
with secular music, such as blues and jazz, to be devil s music. They shunned it and declared Dorsey s
brand of gospel music unworthy of a hearing within sanctuaries of the day. The traditional church
failed to see the positive influence contemporary

Environmental Factors In Night By Eliezer Wiesel
The environmental factors in an individual s life can influence their sense of morality, leading to the
notion that morality is not set at birth, but developed. If the environment is stable and welcoming, a
good sense of morals can be developed; whereas, a disorderly environment has the opposite effect. An
example of this concept can be seen in Eliezer Wiesel s novella Night, as the Holocaust alters the
moral sense of many characters. Franek, Eliezer s foreman, changes as it becomes harder to survive.
As Wiesel adapts to the Buna concentration camp, he points out that, All the sudden, this pleasant and
intelligent young man had changed. His eyes were shining with greed (55). Moral changes are rapid in
the containment of an erratic environment, as emphasized by the diction choice sudden . In the case of
Franek, the concentration camp environment has made him so desperate that he progresses from a
pleasant and intelligent man to one full of greed. Numerous philosophers, such as William
Shakespeare and Leonardo Da Vinci, quote the metaphor, Eyes are the windows to the soul . The
intentions and driving motivation of an individual can be seen through the eyes alone. Franek s eyes
give away his inner desire of obtaining objects for his own benefit: the thought of possessing Eliezer s
gold tooth fills him with so much happiness that his eyes shine. The adjective shining is apprehended
as positive and innocent, but brings emphasis to Franek s corruption by contrasting

Plutarch, coming from an upper class family, was able to get a good education and find a purpose to
his life1. Philosophy was his calling and he was brilliant in his work. An aficionado of the works of
his forefathers in thought (from Zeno to Plato), Plutarch used their systems to take his knack for
observing the behavior of men and formulating the proper way to live. His essays, On Being Aware of
Moral Progress, On Listening, and How to Distinguish a Flatterer from a Friend, came at a time when
the city states of Greece were in moral as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romans were complaining that Rome itself was becoming `a Greek city4. Greek became an
international language; cultured Romans would make a point to learn it and Greek slaves introduced it
to Roman families5.
Although it may have been an intellectual inspiration, much of Greece was still barren and the
economy was far from perfect. The country suffered from uniform poverty and the collapse of
autonomy6. From the decades of warring came a population on the downfall and a great decline in
merit. Whereas at its summit the Hellenic states could boast handsome temples, theatres, halls, and
palaces ... they found their monies being spent in maintaining wars and in offsetting a growing
unfavorable balance of trade7. The only cities with anything close to prosperous trade at this time
were Corinth and Patras. People were not concerned with anything but survival. Ancient beliefs of
morality and plain old goodness were lost. There was a need for someone, anyone, to turn this awful
trend around. Enter Plutarch.
The year AD 46 brought the new thinker into the world. Greece had experienced almost 250 years of
Roman rule by the time Plutarch was born and was in need of some serious ethical assistance. Plutarch
was born in Chaeronea, in the province of Boeotia which was approximately half the distance between
Athens and Delphi. He was born into an old family that was known to have been holding high public

Ethnographic Analysis Of Pharmacy
The popular sector in the United States is something that carries a large impact on the individuals.
Many people will choose to ask others for advice or figure out what they need themselves, rather than
go to the doctor. From my quick ethnographic research in the pharmacy sections in a couple of
different stores, I noticed some interesting similarities and some differences in how people interact in
this sector. Many individuals had some sort of communication going with others about what product
they should get, whether it be in person or on the phone. They also had some interesting differences
between them. Both times that I went there was an overwhelming majority of females to males. The
setting of both of these pharmacies was very well lit and easy to get around in. This is very helpful to
people who may be ill or someone who is in a hurry to find medicine for a sick loved one. All of the
medicines were arranged in neat rows and clearly labeled that made it easy to choose what kind of
medication was necessary for the symptoms present in the first pharmacy. The ... Show more content

there was in the first pharmacy. I noticed a couple of people wandering up and down the aisles
searching for medications, but seemed like they could not find what they were looking for. According

Dolphin Foraging Techniques Essay examples
Bottlenose dolphins are known to use sea sponges as tools when foraging for food in the ocean. This
behavior is referred to as sponging . Sponging refers to when these particular dolphins put a sea
sponge over their rostrum (snout area) and use it to help collect food. Different explanations have been
given as to why Bottlenose Dolphins engage in this behavior. It has been perceived that young
dolphins learn this behavior from their mothers. Researchers are also exploring the option that a
differentiation in diving skills exists between dolphins caused by variation in the mitochondrial genes
processing of proteins that are involved in the creation of the Bottlenose Dolphins respiratory system,
and that variation may have lead them to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once found, researchers documented the behavior of these groups and the activities that these groups
partook in. Long term photographic databases were used to establish identity, and if the dolphin was
noticed to be engaged in sponging at least once, they were included in the dataset for the study. On the
eastern gulf, researchers were already aware of the sponging dolphins due to previous studies.
Between the years of 1994 and 2008, remote biopsy samples of sponging dolphins were taken when
the opportunity to do so allowed. Using a Magellan Meridian Marine GPS device, the site that each
biopsy was taken at was noted appropriately. The biopsy sample was made up of 29 sponging dolphins
and 54 non sponging dolphins. At a total of 83 dolphins, 59 of the dataset consisted of 24 males and
59 females. The researchers recognize that sponging is a predominantly female activity, however they
observed some males engaging in the activity as well and for that reason they decided to include males
in the data, as to test for possible gender influences, but genetic influence is what they researchers
were truly looking to rule out. To do this they chose to examine the coxII and ctyb genes, using a
Gentra Tissue kit to obtain the DNA. These two mitochondrial genes play a vital role in the respiratory
chain, which is link directly to the dolphins metabolic energy and therefore could possibly affect the
overall diving ability

personal opportunities by providing personal mobility and freedom, gives people transportation
options to get to work, go to school, visit friends, or go to a doctor s office, provides access to job
opportunities. It saves fuel and reduces congestion, provides economic opportunities and drives
community growth and revitalization. Statistically, every $1 invested in public transportation
generates approximately $4 in economic returns, every $10 million in capital investment in public
transportation yields $30 million in increased business sales, every $10 million in operating

Tyre were able to harass the Macedonians. The Tyrians knew they had to take an offensive action.
They took action by using their superior war ships and used an old horse ship filled with combustibles,
lit it on fire, and rammed it against the bridge burning their work. Macedonians tried to put out the fire
but were killed or forced to flee due to warships coming filled with archers. Alexander s anger grew
far worse and stayed persistent. He sent out twice as many engineers to work on the bridge as they
headed north along the coast. He went back to the recently captured cities Byblus and Sidon. He

He conquered Egypt and other major cities such as Babylonia and Elam. As he returned north,
Alexander knew it was time to head east and finish his Persian campaign (S. 2008). The battle of the
Persian Gate is the most significant. He wanted to invade Persia propery before winter started. This
was easy because the Royal Road, a Persian road used for trading and other political reasons,
connected Elam and Persepolis. The roads were split through the mountains in modern day Haftgel.
Parmenion was to take the Royal Road and Alexander took the most dangerous road through the
Zagros Mountains. Alexander massacred the Uxians tribe and no one dared to challenge the
Macedonian army. Soon Alexander crossed the Marun River, the boarder of Elam and Persis, and
reached to a plain. The Macedonians prepared to cross the Persian Gate to reach the city of Persepolis.
Persepolis is very important because if Alexander were to capture it, the rest of the empire would too.
However, Persian satrap, Ariobarzanes, was aware of the move and prepared his counter attacks

soldiers, but since he took the most difficult passage, he took the strongest troops. The opposing army

Sunset Blvd Analysis
From coloring and lighting to music direction and the score, there are many ways for a film s story to
be told. Film noir mirrors its detective pulp book predecessors, where a strong narrative character is
key and the protagonist walks a fine line between hero and villain. The use of voice over, black and
white film, and evocative lighting techniques define the style we know today. Modern films, such as
The Artist (2011) and Sin City (2005), attempt to incorporate these creative devices, but unlike their
predecessors, these techniques don t support and further thematic developments. In

The ability to color film has been around since the 1920s and in 1939, films like Gone With The Wind
(1939) and The Wizard Of Oz (1939) utilized these processes to create a film spectacle. Film noir
translates to dark film and Sunset Blvd. and Double Indemnity fit that both physically and
thematically. The use of black and white film blurs the lines between good and evil. Without the use of
color to easily distinguish the villains from the heroes, we are unsure of who we can and cannot trust.
The lack of color allows the viewer to focus on content and forces them to concentrate on what is on
screen. It is easier to make color look good on film, as it requires less work. It is much harder to make
color associate with the story. Black and white film requires the skill of balance between dark and
light in a scene. When done correctly, it can become a character of its own, helping breath life into sets
such as Norma s immense mansion. Both films exaggerate the use of shadows giving the feel of a
horror film. Lighting does more than draw focus on a character. It can be used to showcase the
deceitfulness of a character and highlight their sinister deeds. Lighting can hide the truth from the
audience and shroud the plot in mystery. In Sunset Blvd., Norma is shown in the shadows while she is

Examples Of Love Will Save The World Essay
Love will save the world
Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Nowadays we live in a world surrounded by violence, racism, injustice, and hate. In the world where
killing an animal is worse than killing a human. In the world where teenagers commit suicide because
they are being bullied. In the world where indifference and egoism rule. For years, we have been
searching a solution to these problems. We tried blaming the governments, the society, the economy or
even the religion.
The truth is that blaming others is not the solution. We need to start analyzing our faults. Do we care
about others? Do we realize our actions affect others? Do I put my needs before the other s needs?

Have you realized the newspaper have more bad than good news? This situation could be prevented

teach the new generations the power of love; they are our future. An effective way is teaching with our
actions. Put others needs before you, and we ll spread the

The role of 3,4 Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in the scientific community is

A 5 HT2A receptor antagonist blocked the social effects of MDMA. A 5 HT2C agonist decreased
huddling but did not affect social vocalizations, and a 5 HT1A agonist decreased huddling (Pitts et al.,

behaviors and vocalizations in a dose dependent fashion, and the behavioral effects of MDMA are 5
HT2A receptor dependent (Pitts et al., 2017). This study has many strengths. Squirrel monkeys are an
excellent model because they are behaviorally well characterized and metabolize MDMA quite
similarly to humans, which gives the results better translatability to humans than rodent models

relationship between several variables while also reducing the risk of a type I error. Testing both
racemic MDMA and its individual enantiomers was critical to improve understanding of each
enantiomer s distinct behavioral effects, which was seldom considered in past studies. Controlling
doses by subject mass was also essential the effects of MDMA are heavily dose dependent, and skew
from dosing error could alter the size of the observed behavioral effect between individuals (Liechti et
al., 2001). The use of antagonists and agonists to observe the function of individual receptor subtypes
in relation to the behavioral effects of MDMA was critical for improving the pharmacological

Navy Uniforms Case Study
Financial Burden to Maintain Uniforms
Navy uniforms are some of the most striking and recognizable symbols of honor and tradition around
the world. Whether in dress blues, dress whites or khakis, the men and women who dawn the Navy
uniform wear it with pride and distinction. Senior Enlisted Leaders must be aware of available
organizational clothing and maximize Sailor usage to minimize the financial burden on members. This
paper will cover the background of the Navy s uniform requirements and the financial burden required
to maintain them, offer discussion on the impact it has on personnel and recommendations for
mitigating these impacts.
Problem
The U.S. Navy provides an initial issue of uniforms to all members upon accession into the service,
however the work schedule and working environment reduces wear life. The problem is Sailors are
forced to pay the high cost of maintaining and replacing uniforms required for daily use. The U.S.
Navy provides 3 sets of Navy Working Uniforms (NWU) and 2 sets of Navy Service Uniforms (NSU)
(NAVPERS 15665I). This allotment does not meet the daily use requirements nor are they durable
enough to endure the rigors of the work environment and required laundering. The next topic will
focus on a discussion about maintenance of the working uniforms attributing to the financial burden
our Service Members and their families incur.

Negative Effects Of Technology On Youth
Technology varies widely from one decade to the next. The invention of the television increased the

versions of technology now exist to create technological distractions. Computers, cell phones, and

advancements technology has gone too far. Youth remain greatly affected by technology. Since
technology has become a normal routine for youth, they fail to realize the problem occurring. Older
individuals who grew up without as much technology, can point out the issue easily. Technology
affects today s youth negatively because it distracts, promotes violence, and lowers independence.

Minimum Wage vs. Slavery
SLAVERY VS. MINIMUM WAGE
Le Sean Marks
English 102; Civil War Term Paper
March 21, 2013
In a time like today, everyone who has ever received minimum wage could agree that it is not ideal,
nor is it fair in most cases. However, to compare the brutality of minimum wage to that of slavery is
preposterous! In slavery, especially the slavery that occurred in America, human beings lacked more
than just proper compensation for their labor. Along with not being fairly rewarded: families were
ripped apart by slave trades, dignity could never be gained, scare tactics and inferiority were at an all
time high, women were raped, people were beaten almost to death, and the list goes on. There is no
way to downplay minimum wage. People work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In slavery the best benefit one could get would be getting good leftovers and hand me downs from the
master and his family. Healthcare for slaves consisted of examinations made by the slaves master or
his hired help to determine if they were strong enough to handle the labor or clean enough to be a
house slave. Dental care consisted of checking their teeth by having their mouths forcibly opened by
the master s hands. Monthly and holiday bonuses were nothing more than getting a few extra pieces of
meat for dinner. As for employee discounts and services, well, slave labor was free; could they really
ask for anything? The biggest thing of all that minimum wage can t be compared to slavery is the
abuse. There are three types of abuses that slaves suffered and those were physical, mental, and
emotional. Employees who make minimum wage can suffer from emotional abuse, but as stated
before they have the opportunity to get out of that abuse. Slaves would often be abused and the abuse
didn t stop at beating. The abuse that slaves experienced kept the submissive to their master and kept
them at a level of worthlessness. Many southerners would say that slaves didn t have any right but it is
observed that slaves were important to them and this is why they did not want the slaves to be literate
because they were afraid that they would revolt. Slave masters would often abuse slaves so bad until

What Is The Theories Of Three Human Development Theorists,...
Human development is an essential aspect in early childhood education. This essay is going to discuss
the theories of three human development theorists, Urie Bronfenbrenner, John Bowlby and Mary
Ainsworth s. Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems theory is concerned with family, cultural and
social influences and all the other environmental elements. Bowlby s Attachment theory and Stages of
attachment and Ainsworth s Strange Situation research which breaks down attachment into three types
are related to the relationship between adults and children. These theories are all associated with socio
cultural theory, which is throughout the New Zealand early childhood curriculum Te whariki (Ministry
of Education, 1996). Bronfenbrenner (Sigelman Rider, 2014) created an ecological system model
which illustrates both direct and indirect influences (these influences are bi directional) in an
individual s growth environment. This ecological system consists of five systems which all have an
individual as their same centre and gradually extend from this individual to the last and largest system,
including minute but immediate impacts like a bee in the garden that stung this individual and
macroscopical but subtle impacts like global warming. Meanwhile, they are inclusive, as Te Whariki,
the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, describes it as a set of nested Russian dolls (The
Ministry of Education, 1996, page.19), which means these in systems, one contains another.

Aristotle Final Good
Aristotle begins to question what is good? The good is explained to differ in different activities and
arts, but shares a common ground because it appears to be for the sake of how things are done; a
means to an end. Aristotle uses the example of medicine; its mean is to end in health. However, there
are many different ends and humans chose some of them, as a means to something else, therefore not
all ends are final ones. That which is chosen never as a mean to something else proves to be more final
than that which is chosen for itself and something else. Therefore, Aristotle justifies that the mean that
is always chosen for itself and not for means of something else is called the final. Aristotle uses this
definition and applies it to happiness, since happiness is always chosen as an end in itself and never
for the sake of something else. The thought of honor, pleasure and virtue being chosen as an end for
itself may apply but can be assumed they lead to happiness as a means to an end. ... Show more

When thinking about the final, it can be accepted that the final good, to be self sufficient, something it
itself that makes life worth living and is not limited to man alone. For something to be a final good it
needs to not be defined by itself alone but for political beings as well, something that can be shared
with family and friends. A self sufficient thing takes itself and makes something desirable. Again,
Aristotle fits happiness into this definition because happiness is the most desirable thing. Thus to
Aristotle, happiness is the end that all acts are directed towards, both final and

Women’s Inequality in the 20th Century Essay
Throughout the twentieth century, American women fought for the right to vote, the right to make
choices regarding their own bodies, and the right to be their own people. The disparities between men
and women were often overlooked or blindly accepted, but as Gloria Steinem said, history is herstory
too. After nearly 200 years of struggling, women made up only 10% of Congress, received wages less
than 75% of their male counter parts, and are stigmatized based on their class and race. By the end of
the century, female citizens were still treated unfairly in every aspect of American society. Women did
not achieve equality in America in the 20th century, based on their roles in politics, the widespread
views of female sexuality, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The English word for being devoted to your country is patriotic, which literally translates from Latin
to loyal to a country ruled by men. In America during the 20th century patriotic was still the accurate
word, as men overwhelmingly ruled the United States. Because of this fact, women in the 20th century
did not reach political equality with men. In terms of sexuality, women in the 20th century were not
considered equal to men because they were overwhelmingly abashed and judged due to the personal
decisions they made regarding sex. While men s sexual conquests were disregarded or even praised,
women were often shamed or called derogatory names for choosing to have sex. That the same
decisions made by two different genders could have such opposite results proves that there wasn t
sexual equality in America in the 20th century. Sexual assault is another place where 14.78% of
women in America are victims of rape at some point in their lifetimes as of 2000. Yet the 60% of rape
cases are never reported, and the vast majority of rapists investigated are never charged. That such a
horrendous crime can affect so many women and yet have such a small penalty is appalling and a
testimony to the sexual inequality of women. Another issue

The Issue Of International Taxation Essay
International taxation is one of the most pressing global topics in the world today. Tax regulations was
one of the most pressing topics in the recent United States presidential campaign. The reason that
people are so concerned with taxation is because it affects many aspect of society. Taxes affect how
much money employees are able to take home. The government is concerned with taxes because it is
hoe it generates revenue to fund governmental programs. The Mariam Webster dictionary defines a tax
as a compulsory contribution to state revenue, levied by the government on workers income and
business profits or added to the cost of some goods, services, and transactions. Therefore, a tax is any
contribution levied by a government for some types of transaction. In addition, taxes are not unique to
any particular country. The type of taxes and tax rates that are utilized in countries may vary.
However, every government in the world use taxes as a means of generating revenue in order to fund
governmental activities. With the spread of globalization, countries were able to engage in business
transactions with other countries across the globe. Therefore, major corporations began to conduct
more business activities in other countries. As a means of regulating its counter trade and business
global regulatory organization were established. Organizations such as the World Trade Organizations
are designed to allow a uniform and fair trade among countries. However, a tax is

Crafty Research Paper
This is the story of a twelve year old girl named Craftmatsu Matsuno or Crafty for short. She loved
watching the birds fly across the sky. She loved floating peacefully down the river on her homemade
raft. But most of all, she loved eating sweets with her parents and her sextuplets older brothers. Crafty
was usually happy and peaceful. But even so, she sometimes felt lonely. The Gods of the Galaxy took
pity on Crafty. They each created three beings and confined them within star candies. The star candies
were made from each god s favorite constellations and were tossed down into Crafty s world. The
Gods of the Galaxy believed each being would teach something to Crafty. It was up to Crafty to find

The Interlopers Conflict
The outcome of conflicts between characters vary due to the drive each character has. Each character s
drive is shown in how passionate they are about how they want something to end up. The more you
are driven to do something, the more likely that what you want will happen. However, if two people
have the same drive, the conflict will resolve itself in a different way. Conflicts arise in different ways
in each individual story, but most conflicts are introduced during the rising action in the literary piece.
This gives the author of the story time to get the readers wondering. As the rest of the story unfolds,
each reader uses inferences to predict how the conflict will be resolved. Each narrator s drive towards
the conflict is one way to predict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This hatred and drive to kill the opposing person allows simple things such as communication to cease
and allows the drive to take the lead. These families hatred for one another influence the drive to kill.
The two families will not stop until the other one is dead. Therefore, each narrator has the drive to kill
the other one. Once the drive to kill is gone, their plans are altered. Ulrich states, Neighbour, if you
will help me bury the old quarrel, I will ask you to be my friend, (Saki 4). Each family has its own
drive, each family is willing to kill, one family breaks, both drives are destroyed. The one family that
breaks first is not willing to kill, destroying the other families will to fight. This is because if one
family does not want to fight, what is the point in fighting to the death? The original outcome does not
come true due to the fact that one narrator changed and started communicating. Once this narrator s
drive was known, the other narrator also communicated the lack of wanting to kill. With both narrator
s realizing that neither wanted to kill, their drives changed and the plan was foiled. The conflict could
resolve itself in a different way, though, if only one narrator has the drive to

Los Angeles Dodgers Business Analysis
A season ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers put together a dominating regular season, winning the
National League West. At the 2015 All Star break, the Giants were the closest competitor to the
division leading Dodgers, trailing Los Angeles by 3.5 games. By the end of the season, however, the
Dodgers won the division by eight games over second place San Francisco.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Under new general manager Farhan Zaidi, the Dodgers underwent a dramatic overhaul in the 2014
2015 offseason. Most notably, the Los Angeles unloaded outfielder Matt Kemp, trading the two time
All Star to make room for top prospect Joc Pederson. The infield also experienced dramatic turnover
when the Dodgers added Howie Kendrick and Jimmy Rollins as middle infielders. ... Show more

After displaying dominance throughout the 2014 playoffs, Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner
produced one the most historic World Series performances as San Francisco captured its third
championship in five years. However, a year after San Francisco s third title since 2010, the Giants
failed to make the playoffs 2015.
Attempting to turn their fortune around in 2016, the Giants made a few key signings in the offseason.
San Francisco signed free agent outfielder Denard Span to a three year, $31 million deal, while the
Giants also sured up their rotation behind Bumgarner by signing 2015 World Series Champion Johnny
Cueto and 2014 All Star Jeff Samardzija.
Aside the Giants new additions, a solid cast of starters return, led by outfielder Hunter Pence, who hit
.275 last season, and catcher Buster Posey, who batted .318 in 2015. In its lineup, San Francisco also
has up and coming second baseman Joe Panik, who batted .312 last year. Returning right handers
Sergio Romo and Hunter Strickland hold down the Giants bullpen.

  • 2. The London Inter Bank Lending Rate Introduction LIBOR, the London inter bank lending rate, is considered to be one of the most important interest rates in finance, upon which trillions of financial contracts rest. The London Interbank Offered Rate ( LIBOR ) is often called the world s most important number, As well as helping to decide the price of other transactions, it is also used as a measure of trust in the financial system and reflects the confidence banks have in each other s financial health. Libor acts as the rate at which the world s most preferred borrowers are able to borrow money, and as an indicator for less preferred borrowers. The Libor is not important for just financial institutions, but is also relevant to the common man. This benchmark for short term interest rates is used for retail products such as college loans, credit card rates, student loans, and adjustable rate mortgages which is roughly a ten trillion dollar market. History Begining of the 1980s, the London financial market saw an increasing number of banks actively trading new instruments. As attractive as these new instruments like the forward rate agreement seemed to the banks, they were apprehensive of the rates which had to be agreed upon before entering a contract. To solve this problem, the banks turned to the British Bankers Association (BBA) to create a uniform measure which could act as a benchmark for the new instruments. This uniform rate had the ability to facilitate the operation of markets and allow more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each food has a different meaning, weakly attributed to its name in Aramaic or Hebrew. At any given time there is at least one food that you will find completely revolting (fish head anyone?) and a couple others that you kind of like anyway. But what you didn t know is that each food you like actually tells you everything you need to know about your own personality and what type of neurosis awaits you in the coming year. Keep being the voice of balance and reason in the world. A timeless classic in the shtetls of Poland, the word for beet is Selek and it means you want your enemies to be banished Interpretation Your sense of victimhood is so strong you are incapable of banishing your inner and outer demons completely. At least Leek and Date have the strength of character to seek total annihilation of their imaginary enemies. You prefer to banish them deeper in your subconscious where they can continue to wreak havoc on your relationships and health. Your recurring migraines? Yup. You were waiting for this one, right? • 7. Personal Narrative Of An Exorcist someone from the exorcist movie. The cops finally got there, but they did not do anything because my mom had not given her a proper eviction notice. My aunt was allowed to stay there until 30 days were up, and I did not stay there at all while my aunt was there. In all honest, I was afraid to stay there after what happened. When my aunt finally moved out, she left over half of her stuff and left the house a mess. She had also stolen some of the things from the house that were not hers. Another thing she did was put crosses all over the walls. One day when my mom and I were at the house, my mom was walking in the hallway, and she noticed that there was something on the walls. After looking closely, she noticed that they were crosses that were on the walls. I tried to figure out what it was that my aunt had used to put the crosses on the walls, but it had no distinct smell. I don t think that anyone ever found out what it was that she used on the wall. Anyways, my mom would go to the house day after day to try to get it off the walls so the landlord would not find out what had happened. Eliza Gant was the character staring in my high school s spring play, and she had completely taken over my being. • 12. The University Of North Florida According to the Gallup Purdue Index Report, only 39% of the over 30,000 college graduates surveyed had experienced elements of well being as well as felt engaged in their work (Great Lives 7). Interestingly, the study also found there was no difference if they attended a public, private, non selective, or a highly selective institution (7). Therefore, graduates of the University of North Florida ( UNF ) are doing the same in job engagement and well being as graduates from all other colleges. Thus, less than half the graduates from UNF enjoy overall good lives; UNF must do better. UNF must revise its education policy with the goal of having all of its graduates enjoy good jobs and good lives. Amazingly, based upon my research this is not a Herculean task; the Gallup Purdue Index Report found that if a graduate had a professor who captivated and mentored the graduate, then that graduate had more than a 200% likelihood of having job engagement (7). Additionally, graduates were also shown to have more than a 200% likelihood of being engaged in their job if they had experiential and deep learning, which was having an internship, a job related to their major, a long term project, or extracurricular activities while attending college (10 11). When looking at economics worldwide one has to consider the history of trade, the relationship of tariffs, and the standards in the industries. International trade indicates a large part of the economic research of production growth. Market size has grown from exports of a companies products. By exporting a company learns about the foreign markets. The company may gain some expertise from feedback they obtain from the buyer. This is called the learning by exporting theory. The learning by export theory shows a link between the productivity and trade. It shows improvements that is tied to the trades and resource reallocations. Many traveling, singing preachers began to accompany themselves with piano and guitar. An example of this can be found with a gentleman who many refer to as the father of Gospel Music, Thomas A Dorsey. The son of a minister, Thomas Dorsey was a consummate musician and as a young man, he accompanied some of the most famous blues singers of all time including Bessie Smith and Ma Rainey. He also arranged and composed blues tunes. However, his penchant for bouncy tunes and bawdy lyrics did not keep him from attending the annual meeting of the National Baptist Convention. It was at these conventions that Dorsey first heard compositions of Charles A Tindley. Tindley inspired him. Musical historian Arna Bontemps argues that it was at this point in Dorsey s life when he began to write religious music. He abandoned his brash lyrics but not the jazz rhythms and blues flavor. Naturally, older conservatives considered this blending of sacred music, such as spirituals and hymns with secular music, such as blues and jazz, to be devil s music. Countless numbers of dark figures stand on parade, speaking in unison to pay our respects to one whom we adore. The sadness corrupts my inner soul and my heart bleeds a river inside. Nothing could change the wretchedness I feel. We leave, what seems to me, not a holy church, but more of a devil s palace. But the worst is yet to come. Still shedding tears I climb into the hearse, my eyes fixed upon the noble man in the back, in the vain hope that there would be life in him once again. It is useless. I think to myself, This is no gate . A gate would be an astonishing gift to me right now. The only thing I can do now is pray and hope. To pray that I will not have to go through this anguish, suffering and endless hell once again. In one sudden movement, my hopes and dreams are crushed into minute pieces of terror and misery, as the hearse driver opens the door. Resistance is pointless. We are already here. A foot away from the gates of fire. I push open the gate upon its rusty hinges. Though, I know, cemeteries are supposed to be depressing and solemn places, this is out of the ordinary. I am welcomed by an old, decrepit yet elegant chapel, that has been abused by weather and man, but preserved and decorated by Mother Nature. Ivy droops over the freestanding wall and fades away into the rubble and ruins. Through a slight crack in the wall I see the remains of a derelict altar. I continue on, picking up my drained feet off the grassy surface from under them. They are comforted by the pleasantness of a spongy carpet of autumn leaves. A mosaic of infinite colors. A mild breeze slithers past my face and cools me throughout as we enter a kingdom of beauty. My eyes ascend up into the branches of an oak that has past its prime, but nothing can steal the ... • 19. Environmental Factors In Night By Eliezer Wiesel The environmental factors in an individual s life can influence their sense of morality, leading to the notion that morality is not set at birth, but developed. If the environment is stable and welcoming, a good sense of morals can be developed; whereas, a disorderly environment has the opposite effect. An example of this concept can be seen in Eliezer Wiesel s novella Night, as the Holocaust alters the moral sense of many characters. Franek, Eliezer s foreman, changes as it becomes harder to survive. As Wiesel adapts to the Buna concentration camp, he points out that, All the sudden, this pleasant and intelligent young man had changed. His eyes were shining with greed (55). Moral changes are rapid in the containment of an erratic environment, as emphasized by the diction choice sudden . In the case of Franek, the concentration camp environment has made him so desperate that he progresses from a pleasant and intelligent man to one full of greed. Numerous philosophers, such as William Shakespeare and Leonardo Da Vinci, quote the metaphor, Eyes are the windows to the soul . The intentions and driving motivation of an individual can be seen through the eyes alone. Franek s eyes give away his inner desire of obtaining objects for his own benefit: the thought of possessing Eliezer s gold tooth fills him with so much happiness that his eyes shine. The adjective shining is apprehended as positive and innocent, but brings emphasis to Franek s corruption by contrasting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people will choose to ask others for advice or figure out what they need themselves, rather than go to the doctor. From my quick ethnographic research in the pharmacy sections in a couple of different stores, I noticed some interesting similarities and some differences in how people interact in this sector. Many individuals had some sort of communication going with others about what product they should get, whether it be in person or on the phone. They also had some interesting differences between them. Both times that I went there was an overwhelming majority of females to males. The setting of both of these pharmacies was very well lit and easy to get around in. Sponging refers to when these particular dolphins put a sea sponge over their rostrum (snout area) and use it to help collect food. Different explanations have been given as to why Bottlenose Dolphins engage in this behavior. It has been perceived that young dolphins learn this behavior from their mothers. Between the years of 1994 and 2008, remote biopsy samples of sponging dolphins were taken when the opportunity to do so allowed. At a total of 83 dolphins, 59 of the dataset consisted of 24 males and 59 females. The researchers recognize that sponging is a predominantly female activity, however they observed some males engaging in the activity as well and for that reason they decided to include males in the data, as to test for possible gender influences, but genetic influence is what they researchers were truly looking to rule out. To do this they chose to examine the coxII and ctyb genes, using a Gentra Tissue kit to obtain the DNA. The ability to color film has been around since the 1920s and in 1939, films like Gone With The Wind (1939) and The Wizard Of Oz (1939) utilized these processes to create a film spectacle. Film noir translates to dark film and Sunset Blvd. and Double Indemnity fit that both physically and thematically. The use of black and white film blurs the lines between good and evil. Without the use of color to easily distinguish the villains from the heroes, we are unsure of who we can and cannot trust. The lack of color allows the viewer to focus on content and forces them to concentrate on what is on screen. It is easier to make color look good on film, as it requires less work. It is much harder to make color associate with the story. Black and white film requires the skill of balance between dark and light in a scene. When done correctly, it can become a character of its own, helping breath life into sets such as Norma s immense mansion. Both films exaggerate the use of shadows giving the feel of a horror film. Controlling doses by subject mass was also essential the effects of MDMA are heavily dose dependent, and skew from dosing error could alter the size of the observed behavioral effect between individuals (Liechti et al., 2001). • 38. Animals In Life Of Pi The film Life of Pi is an unsuccessful adaptation by reducing the contents of Pi s knowledge of animals, scenes are made less scary, and the lack of presence of his peers. First, the film reduced the introduction a lot where it contains most of Pi s knowledge about animals. In the movie, Pi is unable to tame Richard Parker who represents Pi s animalistic instincts. Here, it shows how surviving in the wild makes Pi lose control of himself when he took the fish from the tiger, and dislike his carnivorous side as he tried many ways to kill Richard Parker for almost half of the film. Even though they remain a wary distrust towards one another, in the novel however, Pi and Richard Parker are shown with a loving trusting relationship when Richard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Minimum Wage vs. Slavery SLAVERY VS. MINIMUM WAGE Le Sean Marks English 102; Civil War Term Paper March 21, 2013 In a time like today, everyone who has ever received minimum wage could agree that it is not ideal, nor is it fair in most cases. However, to compare the brutality of minimum wage to that of slavery is preposterous! In slavery, especially the slavery that occurred in America, human beings lacked more than just proper compensation for their labor. Along with not being fairly rewarded: families were ripped apart by slave trades, dignity could never be gained, scare tactics and inferiority were at an all time high, women were raped, people were beaten almost to death, and the list goes on. There is no way to downplay minimum wage. People work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In slavery the best benefit one could get would be getting good leftovers and hand me downs from the master and his family. Healthcare for slaves consisted of examinations made by the slaves master or his hired help to determine if they were strong enough to handle the labor or clean enough to be a house slave. Dental care consisted of checking their teeth by having their mouths forcibly opened by the master s hands. Monthly and holiday bonuses were nothing more than getting a few extra pieces of meat for dinner. As for employee discounts and services, well, slave labor was free; could they really ask for anything? The biggest thing of all that minimum wage can t be compared to slavery is the abuse. There are three types of abuses that slaves suffered and those were physical, mental, and emotional. Employees who make minimum wage can suffer from emotional abuse, but as stated before they have the opportunity to get out of that abuse. Slaves would often be abused and the abuse didn t stop at beating. The abuse that slaves experienced kept the submissive to their master and kept them at a level of worthlessness. Many southerners would say that slaves didn t have any right but it is observed that slaves were important to them and this is why they did not want the slaves to be literate because they were afraid that they would revolt. Slave masters would often abuse slaves so bad until they had no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. What Is The Theories Of Three Human Development Theorists,... Human development is an essential aspect in early childhood education. This essay is going to discuss the theories of three human development theorists, Urie Bronfenbrenner, John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s. Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems theory is concerned with family, cultural and social influences and all the other environmental elements. Bowlby s Attachment theory and Stages of attachment and Ainsworth s Strange Situation research which breaks down attachment into three types are related to the relationship between adults and children. These theories are all associated with socio cultural theory, which is throughout the New Zealand early childhood curriculum Te whariki (Ministry of Education, 1996). Bronfenbrenner (Sigelman Rider, 2014) created an ecological system model which illustrates both direct and indirect influences (these influences are bi directional) in an individual s growth environment. This ecological system consists of five systems which all have an individual as their same centre and gradually extend from this individual to the last and largest system, including minute but immediate impacts like a bee in the garden that stung this individual and macroscopical but subtle impacts like global warming. Meanwhile, they are inclusive, as Te Whariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, describes it as a set of nested Russian dolls (The Ministry of Education, 1996, page.19), which means these in systems, one contains another. • 41. Aristotle Final Good Aristotle begins to question what is good? The good is explained to differ in different activities and arts, but shares a common ground because it appears to be for the sake of how things are done; a means to an end. Aristotle uses the example of medicine; its mean is to end in health. However, there are many different ends and humans chose some of them, as a means to something else, therefore not all ends are final ones. That which is chosen never as a mean to something else proves to be more final than that which is chosen for itself and something else. Therefore, Aristotle justifies that the mean that is always chosen for itself and not for means of something else is called the final. Aristotle uses this definition and applies it to happiness, since happiness is always chosen as an end in itself and never for the sake of something else. The thought of honor, pleasure and virtue being chosen as an end for itself may apply but can be assumed they lead to happiness as a means to an end. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When thinking about the final, it can be accepted that the final good, to be self sufficient, something it itself that makes life worth living and is not limited to man alone. For something to be a final good it needs to not be defined by itself alone but for political beings as well, something that can be shared with family and friends. A self sufficient thing takes itself and makes something desirable. Again, Aristotle fits happiness into this definition because happiness is the most desirable thing. Thus to Aristotle, happiness is the end that all acts are directed towards, both final and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Women’s Inequality in the 20th Century Essay Throughout the twentieth century, American women fought for the right to vote, the right to make choices regarding their own bodies, and the right to be their own people. The disparities between men and women were often overlooked or blindly accepted, but as Gloria Steinem said, history is herstory too. After nearly 200 years of struggling, women made up only 10% of Congress, received wages less than 75% of their male counter parts, and are stigmatized based on their class and race. By the end of the century, female citizens were still treated unfairly in every aspect of American society. Women did not achieve equality in America in the 20th century, based on their roles in politics, the widespread views of female sexuality, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The English word for being devoted to your country is patriotic, which literally translates from Latin to loyal to a country ruled by men. In America during the 20th century patriotic was still the accurate word, as men overwhelmingly ruled the United States. Because of this fact, women in the 20th century did not reach political equality with men. In terms of sexuality, women in the 20th century were not considered equal to men because they were overwhelmingly abashed and judged due to the personal decisions they made regarding sex. While men s sexual conquests were disregarded or even praised, women were often shamed or called derogatory names for choosing to have sex. That the same decisions made by two different genders could have such opposite results proves that there wasn t sexual equality in America in the 20th century. Sexual assault is another place where 14.78% of women in America are victims of rape at some point in their lifetimes as of 2000. Yet the 60% of rape cases are never reported, and the vast majority of rapists investigated are never charged. That such a horrendous crime can affect so many women and yet have such a small penalty is appalling and a testimony to the sexual inequality of women. Another issue ... However, if two people have the same drive, the conflict will resolve itself in a different way. Conflicts arise in different ways in each individual story, but most conflicts are introduced during the rising action in the literary piece. This gives the author of the story time to get the readers wondering. As the rest of the story unfolds, each reader uses inferences to predict how the conflict will be resolved.
