Compare Foebel And Montesssoel
Introduction.
My assignment is based on two well known theorists that are known around the world, and are
praised for their work , Maria Montessori and Friedrich Froebel. Both known for their educational
approach to teach children the basics of life in a fun, entertaining manner. The assignment will be
broken down into 3 parts , their philosophy of early childhood care and education , their contribution
to early childhood education in terms of their implementation and approach , and then finally my
own reflections about their work and who fit in better with my own personal attitudes, beliefs and
values.
1. The philosophy of the chosen theorists.
Montessori philosophy is based on the idea that children were distinctly different from adults. ...

Tovey (2017) suggested that Froebel understood that children were powerful learners and were
motivated to discover and be interested about the world and to try and understand it. The same
author wrote that Froebel believed that learning should be significant and related to the children s
own experiences.
Froebel believed that children learn best while using their hands ( Shields,2016)
2.Their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and implementation
Friedrich Froebel invented Kindergarten , meaning garden of children , over 170 years ago . His
play gifts were the original educational and the first tools for child development (Froebel
USA,2012) . His gifts were also called occupations.
Gifts and occupations is the terms used to describe the particular equipment created specifically for
children to manipulate in logical and orderly patterns (Hook,2014)
Elkind (2015) indicates that Froebel s first gift was giving a ball to the infant. The author also
suggests that Froebel argued that children of all ages are attracted to the ball and also argued that
the ball the sphere represents a union both at the concrete and abstract

There is necessity of aligning three critical levers to build a successful CRM: insight into customer
decision making, information about customers, and information processing capability. The sales
people pull up the customer data base in having the data about customer profile to adjust behavior
and offer before and during the sales call. Novel technical capabilities facilitate the adaptation of
sales presentations structure and content according to customers. Technology capacities allow the
adaptation of sales presentations structure and content according to customers. Also the way we use
CRM creates an impact on the information is delivered to customers in timely, accurate and adapted
manner.
We identify two critical components in the customer decision process: decision making assistance
and empathy. Keeping in mind the decision making assistance, the main concern for customers
remains reduction to ensure decision quality in risk monitoring. Customer uncertainty may be
related to different factors: the amount of information available, decision consequences forecast and
trust in decisions (Achrol and Stern 1988). The increase of salesperson knowledge (informing the
customer), personal attributes (proposed alternatives) and behaviors (customized information and
assistance in problem solving) through CRM is likely to guide customer in the decision

Sometimes the mental and physical anguish is too much for an individual to endure. There are a

Perceived Ultimacy In Zen Buddhism
This paper will explore the question of how to understand the nature of perceived ultimacy in Zen
Buddhism. This will be achieved through providing a justification for why this question should be
of any interest and then hypothesizing about possible implications of the results. Next, the
framework that is to be used in categorizing the core beliefs in Zenwill be explained and made clear.
After this description is complete the author will proceed to fit Zen Buddhism into this framework
and will demonstrate that the Zen religionis no exception to the employed framework. Finally the
author will describe the perceived ultimacy of Zen Buddhism.

Even when we are presented with answers or guides to the many questions we have about life and
to how we should live, as inquisitive animals, we strive to enhance our understanding and so begin
to learn that perhaps, ultimately, the answers don t simply come from outside but also from within
us. This is then perhaps the greatest implication of this paper, finding new ways in understanding
what the true way of life is for human beings and what the true way of life is for ourselves. In the
discussion of Zen Buddhism, William A. Young s framework s itself must first be explained and
understood.
Young employs a descriptive framework in his book The World s Religions that is used to
understand religion and the ways in which religion plays various roles in human life (Young 12).
The framework was developed from the definition of religion he describes in his book. Young
defines religion as being, human transformation in response to perceived ultimacy (4). This
framework developed by Young was a tool of analysis he employed to compare religions through
seven questions that formulate a basic understanding of a particular religion s worldview. The
seven questions that make up Young s framework are as follows: what does it mean to be human,
what is the basic human problem, what is the cause of the problem, what is the end or goal of
transformation, what are the means of transformation, what is the nature of reality, and what

Your answer: b
Correct answer: c
Explanation: When you bring the shotgun to your shoulder, the stock should be brought to your
cheek first and then back to your shoulder. A common error is lowering the head and cheek to the
stock, instead of bringing the stock all the way up to the cheek. When done properly, with your head
naturally erect, the gun butt always should come to the same spot on your shoulder.

Origin Of The Tokyo Raid
Origin of the Tokyo Raid
In the late 1930 s to early 1940 s tension between the United States and Japan was rising. Japan
invaded China and by 1931 was at war with China (Scott, 2015). The United States opposed the
invasion and ceased to give Japan oil, equipment, and fuel. Dependent on the United States for oil,
Japan saw this as an act of aggression. Japan started to invade western countries territories in the
Pacific in order to get resource needed for war with China. Japan was certain this would draw the
United States into a war. In order to prevent the United States from interfering they decided to
attack the United States Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Scott, 2015).
Once President Franklin D. Roosevelt heard of the news in Hawaii, he immediately gathered his
staff to discuss the next course of action. The decision was made to address Congress the
following day to declare war on Japan. Further meetings were held to plan an attack on Japan
(Scott, 2015). President Roosevelt wanted an attack as soon as possible in the heart of Japan. He
wanted to crush and demoralize the Japanese people s will to fight, and to send a message that the
United States can attack them at their home (Doolittle Glines, 1991).
President Roosevelt turned to his military advisors to figure out a way to complete the attack.
President Roosevelt was unsure how to accomplish an attack with the majority of the Pacific fleet
now destroyed. President Roosevelt tasked his War Secretary

Contaminated Drinking Water Research
Water is necessary to sustain life, but not all water is safe for drinking. Unclean water helps to
spread pathogenic diseases. It is especially dangerous in less populated areas where purified water
may not be readily available. In these areas, it may fall on the responsibility of the individual to
find their own water. People can collect water from streams, rivers, or lakes. The water from these
sources, however, is considered unprotected and cannot be consumed right away. Unprotected water
sources can easily become contaminated and are unfit for drinking. That is why this water has to be
put through purification methods to withdraw all bacteria, chlorine, nitrates, and phosphates in the
water. If a person consumes contaminated drinking water... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When measuring for bacteria, results from both the total Coliform count and the Fecal Coliform
were collected. Total Coliform accounts for all types of bacteria that is transferred to water by
facilitators such as: soils plants and animals, whereas, fecal coliform is found in the intestinal
tracts of warm blooded animals. Something should be done about water contamination if any
coliform is found in the water (Vermont Dpt. of Health 2014). The EPA has set the standard
regulation for coliform in drinking water at zero because of the high levels of risk associated with
the presence of bacteria in drinking water,. Nitrate, an additional impurity measured, can also have
damaging effects if consumed. Nitrate can enter drinking water from the runoff of fertilizer use,
erosion, sewage and the septic tanks leaks. As stated by the Environmental Protection Agency,
Symptoms include shortness of breath and blue baby syndrome (EPA 2014). The EPA also sets
standard maximum contaminant level at 10 mg/L. When completing the experiment, phosphate,
which is naturally occurring in rocks and mineral deposits and is released during erosion
processes facilitated by weather and time, was also measured. Excess phosphate can promote an
increase in plant growth, and in some cases catalyze the death of fish and other aquatic
invertebrates due to the presence of algal blooms. There has been no

The Value Of Philosophy By Bertrand Russell
The essay The Value of Philosophy by Bertrand Russell suggests that many practical people view
philosophy as rather useless, because these people are according to Bertrand Russell operating both
with wrong conceptions about the ends of life and wrong conceptions about what goods philosophy
strives to achieve. According to Russell the value of philosophyis in what it does for the person who
studies it. He makes the point that goods of the mindare as important in life as goods of the body.
He says that the main value of philosophy is that it enlarges one s thoughts, brings one into union
with the not Self , and helps us avoid being caught in narrowness as human beings. His main ideas
are that philosophy is to be studied to enrich our intellects, diminish our dogmatism, and make us
citizens of the universe.
In the essay, Russell presents the study of philosophy as a valuable undertaking, even though it does
not directly help the whole world or increase one s material wealth. The value is to be found for the
student of philosophy herself or himself. This value is primarily found in the intellectual
development that is available for those who undertake the study philosophy. They can escape
narrowness, dogmatism, and narrowness as they become citizens of the world, with enriched
intellectual capacities. Russell concludes with the idea that the mind becomes enlarged through the
study of philosophy.

You Ll Be In My Heart Literary Devices
Heart. Memories. Wishes. My first song is You ll be In My Heart By Phil Collins. In this song
the literary device used to convey the theme of when someone loses someone important to them,
they will be by there side forever and never leave is repetition. My second song choice is My
Wish By Rascal Flatts. In this song the literary device pathos helps convey the theme of never
giving up on dreams and when other people doubt other people s goals but they continue to keep
moving forward.
The song You ll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins and the novel, Jeremy Fink and The Meaning of
Life by Wendy Mass, both use repetition to get across the common theme of when someone
loses someone important to them they will be by their side forever and never leave. In the song,
Phil Collins writes, You ll be here in my heart. Always. Always I ll be with you. I ll be there for you

Write An Essay On Slavery In The 1800 s
Slavery Essay
Slavery was ongoing in the southern states. In the 1800 s many white slave owners believed that
the African Americans were inferior to them despite the fact that all men are created equal .
They were forced into labor and treated like property. The slave owners justified their behavior
and believed they acted caring and conscientious to their slaves. Truthfully, however, the slaves
were mostly treated very badly, as Fredrick Douglas, a black slave, testifies. There were select
groups of white men who realized the abuses of slavery and worked to abolish it. Not many white
people admired these abolitionists, but as time went by their support was increased.

The majority of free blacks expressed less extreme views that walker, but still formed anti
slavery groups by the end of the 1820 s. in 1850 there were approximately 434,000 free blacks
who worked as day laborers for white employers in the south. Some did hold jobs, such as
artisans, craftsmen, or seamstresses. In the north, free blacks were faced with society that
advocated segregation and job discrimination and offered only the lowest paying jobs to them.
Fredrick Douglass, however, was able to rise above all limitations that white society imposed.
Fredrick Douglas was born into slavery in 1817 and was taught how to read and write by the wife
of one of his owners. She was told to stop by her husband because, as he said, reading would
forever unfit him to be a slave . Douglas only studied harder when he realized that his knowledge
could be his pathway to freedom. By 1838, Douglas held a skilled job in Baltimore. He worked
well and earned high wages, but his slave owner took his pay each week. Douglas decided to
escape after having an argument with his owner. He borrowed the identity and official papers of
a free black sailor and went onto the train. He tasted freedom for the first when he reached New
York. When Garrison heard Douglas speak about his experiences, he was impressed and sponsored
Douglas as a lecturer for the American Anti Slavery society. Everyone who listened to Douglas
speak loved him, as he was an amazing speaker. In 1847 Douglas broke from

newspaper, or website and be prepared for many deadlines!
As washingtonian.com explains, deadlines are strike, a job is a job so even if you have food
poisoning, you will still be expected to meet the deadline.
You must be okay with being away from home and family.
Although most of the time, food critics work on their own schedule, they are often away frequently,
especially if their job includes travel.
In an interview for the June 2014 issue of Harvard Business Review, Ruth Reichel talks about her
experience of having to be away from home.
She describes having to eat out for dinner every night, so often that her son confronted her by
asking, Why don t we ever have family dinner?,
And most interestingly, You have to be a spy and keep your identity secret when reviewing a

Critical Assessment of 3 Causes of World War 1
Critical Assessment of 3 Causes of World War 1
Nationalism is being a strong supporter of the rights and interests of one s country. It was very
high in the 19th century and nations which had not obtained independence by 1900 were
determined to do so as it gave groups of subject peoples the idea of forming independent nations of
their own.
In 1815, the Congress of Vienna took place. This was a conference held in Vienna in Austria
between ambassadors from the major powers in Europe. This conference left people under the
control of local dynasts or other nations and ignored nationalism in favour of preserving the peace,
however, revolutions and strong nationalistic movements during the late ... Show more content on

The program called for autonomy and language rights but most importantly it asserted that Croats
and Serbs were a single people. This display of unity alarmed ruling circles but had little practical
impact at the time as Belgrade Serbs paid little attention to Croatian politics.
The ethnic tensions that were present in Croatia in the late 19th century were accompanied by a
break down in Austro Serbian relations driven by a crisis over trade. Since 1881 Austria had
dominated Serbia s foreign trade which consisted mostly of pigs driven to slaughterhouses in
Hungary. By 1905, 84 percent of Serbia s exports were going to Austria Hungary and 53 percent
of Serbia s imports were from Austria Hungary. However, when they were at war Austria blocked
Serbian pigs from entering ports on the excuse that they carried diseases. This gave the Austro
Serbian war the alternate name of the Pig War .
Austro Serbian relations continued to deteriorate over Bosnia as well. Anti Habsburg secret
societies were popular among Bosnian Serbs and upon that The Black Hand came to. This was an
extremely dangerous Serbian nationalist society. The Black Hand was willing to sponsor all kinds
of anti Habsburg mischief in Bosnia and in the end supplied the weapons used in the

Reflection On Solidarity Versus Charity
After having been in your domestic/ national/international field placement, what is your
perspective on solidarity versus charity? Provide examples from your experience. When I think
of solidarity and charity, they both appear very similar and there is no black and white answer.
However, when I think of charity, I always think of giving to those who have less than you. It is
this idea that you may have authority or higher power over someone less fortunate. When
volunteering for a charity, there is this idea that anything a volunteer does will be helpful. An
example of charity to me, would be donating cloths to a shelter. From experience, interning at a
shelter, people would always donate clothes. As this was necessary and helpful, at one point we
were unable to accept any more clothing donations because we had too much. I think when people
donate clothes, they automatically think they are contributing to the charity, following the idea that
by doing that they helped the agency out.
Solidarity on the other hand is a more personal approach to helping others. To me solidarity is
when an individual truly works with others to identify what it is that they need or want, not just
assuming that whichever service they provide will be helpful. I believe that solidarity takes more
of an equality and empowering approach, which leads to working more collaboratively with
individuals. I think an example of solidarity for me, would be my last year s internship at the
domestic violence

Buddhism On Indian Society Essay
How Has Buddhism Influenced Indian Society, Education, and Political System?
Buddhism, which emerged in ancient India (The Kingdom of Magadha) has a substantial impact on
Indian social, educational and political life. Although Buddhism could not be a primary religion due
to the dominance of Hinduism, it still played a considerable role. Buddhism in India, was not
confined to only ritual, ethical or social practice ; it drove a new world view that involves different
perspectives of the life (Wickramasinghe, 2009, p. 24). Buddhism provided a nascent morality
framework bringing equality, justice, and prosperity to the society that was suffering from religious
manipulation. People, who were exhausted from unjust system emerged from doctrines of
Hinduism, willingly accepted Buddhism, which brought equality, education, and democracy to the
Indian society.

India. Buddhism can be referred as a new outlook in ancient Indians life: it changed Vanna system,
which determined the society according to various grades (Banerjee, 2007, p. 5). During the revival
of Buddhism, the Indian society was divided into four groups, which were Khatiyya, Brahmana,

Mind and Hamlet
An admirable text does not define or exhaust its possibilities . What possibilities do you see in
Shakespeare s Hamlet? Discuss your ideas with close reference to at least two scenes from Hamlet.
Shakespeare s texts have been re visited, re interpreted and re invented to suit the context and
preferences of an evolving audience, and it through this constant recreation it is evident that Hamlet
does not define or exhaust its possibilities . Through the creation of a character who emulates a
variety of different themes, such as revenge, realisation of reality and the questioning of humanity,
we can see the different possibilities within Hamlet as an admirable text with enduring human
value. Furthermore, the emotional journey of Hamlet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A more definitive reading of Hamlet disputes the claim that he was mad, and instead suggests that
Hamlet feigns madness in order to become closer to the truth. This reading is an example of
Shakespeare demonstrating the changing context in Denmark through the projection of the
protagonist as an extended metaphor for the emerging Renaissance Humanism period. This period
was defined by choice and analysis of events, and is emulated through Hamlet s alliterated
statement in his soliloquy in Scene 3, Act 1, conscience makes cowards of us all. Hamlet believes
he is in a psychological state of cowardice, and that his conscience is holding him back through his
assessment of the consequences of acting on the orders of the ghost. L.C. Knight believes Hamlet
is the exploration and implicit criticism of a particular state of mind or consciousness . This
questioning on the theme of humanity and the final stage in Hamlet s complex thought process is
finally resolved in the soliloquy in Scene 4, Act 3. Hamlet s characterisation, once that of a pure
man whose mind was riddled with angst at the idea of murder shifts to a mind of bloody thoughts
as a result of his bound duty. This personified imagery is a reflection of Hamlet s now tainted mind
since the murder of Polonius, and the constant obsession with Claudius murder. Hamlet accuses
himself of thinking too precisely , and

first case had involved a neighborhood who had signed a covenant stating that for fifty years,
people of other races were to not buy a house in the area, it seems as if they did not believe in

Andy escapes by making a hole through the wall over a twenty year period and then during a
stormy night, Andy breaks the sewage pipe by using a piece of concreate while it is masked by
the sound of thunder. Escape is displayed very comprehensively through film techniques and
characterization. When Andy escaped through the sewers and ended in the river it felt like as if he
was baptised because he escaped from the claustrophobic confines of Shawshank and he also
escaped the corruption and money laundering as the warden had forced him to book his laundering
schemes otherwise he would make it hell for him. The major film technique that was involved in
this scene was when Andy was breaking the pipe, the camera was facing up towards him and then
switch to the lightning strike through the window, then quickly switch to Andy crashing the piece
of concrete against the pipe. This film technique gave the effect of intensity and made the audience
be on the edge of their seats. This scene if very significant to the story because this when Andy
literally escapes from Shawshank and the themes displayed in the scene displays how much
defiance and hope Andy really had. In conclusion, Shawshank Redemption used characterization
and film techniques to display Escape through Andy and the people around successfully. Personally,
I really enjoyed watching Shawshank Redemption because the film used a lot of thought provoking

Discussion of the Article The Influence of Economists on...
Discussing the Federal Reserve After reading the article, The Influence of Economists on the
Federal Reserve Act, it is apparent the author is trying to suggest that the economists played a
major role in the banking reform which led to the development of the Federal Reserve Act. During
the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, issues regarding the framework for which the bankoperates on was
inconsistent and did not perform as projected in foreseeable emergency situations. For this reason,
economists developed strategies and offered a plan that would deter the U.S. from the current sub
tier banking system currently in place into a more reliable centralized banking system. The author
gives evidence to this by including an array of economists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With copious amounts of supporting details, the author s point of view may be one that focuses
on economists in relation to the Federal Reserve Act and less on political agendas. The
economists were the ones responsible for providing research and acknowledging different
solutions to the crisis of 1907. The author depicts economists in the article as direct advisors and
policy makers which gives the reader a better understanding of their roles in which they were
perceived by the Senate and Congress (Caporal, 2003). These were individuals that strived for
excellence and would go to great means to make an impact in the economy that would alter the
banking system forever. Whether a reader agrees or disagrees with how the centralized banking
system was created, the foundation for which it was built off of has continued to grow over a
century with key fundamentals still in place today. The author s implications demonstrate that an
economists, the intellectuals, were responsible for the banking reform that led to a structured
banking system. Could this all have been possible without the influence of the economists? In my
opinion, the author has provided enough evidence that would allow the reader to properly analyze
and have confidence in the integrity of the article. The conclusion of the article signifies the
influence the economist s had on the Federal Reserve Act and the

Eugenics And The Eugenics Movement
Introduction Human beings have always been interested in success, in making sure they survive,
and creating new tools and technology to enable them to reach these goals. So it should come as no
surprise that eugenics follows this same guideline in human history. A term originally coined by
Francis Galton, first cousin to Charles Darwin, eugenicssimply means that the best people in society
with the most healthy normal genes should continue to reproduce and pass on their goodness to the
next generation, while the individuals with the unhealthy genes should be discouraged from having
any children (Allen 2001:59). With movements beginning in the early 20th century, eugenicists and
proponents of the eugenics movement, have taken particular interests in the heritability of social
behaviors, implementing enforcement mechanisms such as military force, law, and forced medical
procedures in order to maintain the well being of societies future generations. Although society
today frowns upon many instances of eugenics in our history, it is still being practiced in the 21st
century. Contemporary eugenics has become much more technologically advanced and individually
focused through the means of prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Although
these two approaches (past and present) to the eugenics movement are conducted in different ways,
the motivations behind them are theoretically similar. In this paper, I will be summarizing the

Stigmatization Of Black Queer Men Essay
Stigmatization of Black Queer Men For every Black man that is born, each is gifted with the
rigid expectations of being a hyper masculine male. These expectations seemed to be passed
down through generations from family members. The study African American Gay Youth and
Their Families: Redefining Masculinity, Coping with Racism and Homophobia. , portrays some
of the hardships of coming out within this specific community. A mother who was interviewed
in this study said You are told to be a man ... and being a man does not mean you sleep with other
men, she said. Being a man means you have a woman and you procreate and continue the family
name. And for queer black men especially, this expectation of needing a woman to be the
validation for your manhood takes a toll on them and their ability to feel safe in coming out. In
this essay I intend to outline the problematic expectations and stigmatization of the black queer
male community and develop ways in which this problem can start to be overcome while dealing
with different sections of intersectionality. Black men are often viewed as emotionless, physically
strong, hyper sexual, and mischievous. There are so many rules surrounding what passing is as a

Summary Of Charles Darwin And The Leakey
Charles Darwin Vs The Leakeys:
Charles Darwin and the Leakey s are two very similar yet different anthropologist s whose
discoveries have had an immense impact on the world of anthropology. However, which of the two
anthropologist s is better? Although the two are without a doubt, legends in anthropology history,
Charles Darwin is definitely better due to the greater impact his discovery has had on the way we
live. His theory of evolution by natural selection is the basis for many things we know today, and
without it, we would not know a lot of the things we do. It is from his theory that we were able
to learn exactly how we came to be, a question that anthropologists have been asking for several
years. Therefore, when looking at who is a better anthropologist, it is clear that the answer is
Charles Darwin because his discovery has had a larger impact on the way we live.
To begin with, Charles Darwin and The Leakey s are different because they both discovered
different things. While Darwin came up with a theory of evolution by natural selection, The Leakey
s found the earliest fossil of our genus, known as homo. Darwin came up with his theory in 1859.
The theory explained that evolution is due to a phenomenon called natural selection. According to
his theory, natural selection is a process where only the organisms best adapted to their environment
survive and transmit their genetic characters in increasing numbers to succeeding generations,
while those less adapted tend to be eliminated. He explained it as Multiply, vary, let the strongest
survive and the weakest die (cite). On the other hand, the Leakey s did not come up with a theory,
instead, they uncovered the earliest fossil of our genus, referred to as homo. Their discovery led to
the confirmation of the theory that humans are of African descent.
Even though their actual discoveries differed, Charles Darwin and the Leakeys are both similar in
the sense that the two are significant contributors to the understanding of our origins. Charles
Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection is responsible for explaining where all living
things came from, as well as how they became exquisitely adapted to their particular environments.
Whereas, the Leakeys

†The main reason for conservative dominance in the years...
The main reason for conservative dominance in the years 1951 to 1964 was labour disunity Assess
the validity of this view. (June 2011)
Labour disunity was a huge contributing factor as to why the conservatives were able to dominate
from 1951 to 1964. However, there are also other factors that assisted conservative dominance.
Whether that be conservative strengths, good timing, the end of austerity or their handle on public
opinion, all factors contributed to the dominant years. However, how long the conservatives
actually dominated is also a question. Did they dominate for the whole period, or just part of it?
The years 1962 1964 question conservative dominance and how labour reunited.
One of the major reasons why Conservatives were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure to exploit opportunities was also another labour problem. The 1956 sued crisis provided
labour with a great opportunity to get back on the attack. If there had been a general election in
1957 then things may have favoured labour. However, Suez did not split the conservatives and
labour were left with few targets to aim at in hoping to gain more supporters. The Labour party s
inability to counter conservative mistakes was a direct result of their disunity.
As well as labour disunity there are other factors to consider as to why conservatives dominated.
Firstly, the reorganisation of the party machine led by Lord Woolton after the dislocation caused
by the war and the shock defeat for the conservatives in 1946 proved pivotal for the conservatives
in improving their ideas (new conservatives with new ideas) and general organisation.
The conservatives recognised the extent of public approval for the legacy of the Attlee
government. Most Conservatives grasped the political realities of the time. There can be no
outright rejection of the welfare state, nor a total reversal of nationalisation. Attitudes towards
industry, the trade unions and social policy were going to have to be very different from the

Aboriginal Youth
Consequently, in regards to the Canadian context, the reader may be asking, how can sport help
Aboriginal youth given the dismal past of Aboriginal sport policy? As such, at this juncture, the
numerous challenges Aboriginal youth face must be discussed in order to properly contextualize
how sport participation can be tremendously helpful for Aboriginal communities. Accordingly,
despite only encompassing 3.8% of the total Canadian populace, health and social issues are
disproportionately prominent within Aboriginal communities (Ning Wilson, 2012). Consequently,
these particular challenges will be examined through the following variables: physical health,
mental health, and criminal justice. First, accordingly to the literature health disparities... Show

However, Mandela provided the country with a means to pull together as a unified unit and cheer
for the Springboks because of one astonishingly courageous act: in front of a crowd of 65,000
individuals that was virtually all white, Mandela marched onto the field wearing a Spingboks jersey
and embraced the teams captain Francois Pinenaar, which left the crowd silent at first, but quickly
transitioned into fans chanting Nelson! Nelson! Nelson! (Busbee, 2013, pg. 1). The South Africa
Spingboks would subsequently move forward and win the game giving South Africans both white
and black an opportunity to celebrate the victory together as not white or black, but rather as unified
South Africans with a more hopeful future ahead. In 2009, this amazing story was chronicled in the
film Invictius, which featured Morgan Freeman as Mandela and Matt Damon as Pinenaar with the
fundamental premise being the uniting power of the universal language of sport. To this end,
Mandela became the first global leader to use sport as a tool to unite individuals and reformulate a
nations international image through the transformative power of sport. His words, actions, and
leadership with respect to sport for developmental remain profoundly relevant today irrespective

The objects will be ungrouped as seen in below screenshot. Ordering objects
In addition to aligning objects in Microsoft word documents, Word gives you the ability and
freedom to arrange objects in a specific order. The ordering is important when two or more objects
overlap because word determines which objects are in the front or the back.
Understanding levels
In a Microsoft word document, Objects are placed on different levels according to the order in
which they were inserted into a document. In the illustration below, if we move the wave s image
to the beginning of the document, it will cover up several or many of the text boxes. That is
because the image is currently on the highest or top level. We can also change its level to put it
behind the other objects. To change an object s level:
Select the object you want to move. In our illustration above, we ll select the image of the waves.
From the Format tab on the Home menu, click the Bring Forward or Send Backward command
to change the object s ordering by one level. In our illustration below, we ll select Send Backward.
The selected objects will be reordered according to our selection. In our illustration below, the

Health Issues In Middle Adulthood
Some of the health concerns that clients may face as they reach middle adulthood includes physical
development. One of the physical developments includes muscle loss. Maximum muscular strength
is attained between the ages of 25 and 30 and gradually declines at 30(Zastrow Kirst Ashman,
2016). Sight, hearing, and other senses began to decline. Health issues are a huge concern during
middle adulthood. There are some concerns due to lifestyle as a young adult such as breast cancer,
diabetes, hypertension, poor cholesterol. Also kidney function is reduced, gastrointestinal tract
secretes fewer enzymes, and the ability for the heart to pump blood (Zastrow Kirst Ashman, 2016).
In men they have problems with their prostate and women with breast cancer. Other physical
changes are appearances such as gray hair, crow s feet, and wrinkle lose skin.
A characteristic that might impact breast cancer is that white women are stands are at greater
risk of developing breast cancer than women of the African American race. However, African
American women are at greater risk to die from it. Asian, American Indian, and Hispanic women
have a lower risk of developing and dying from breast cancer (Zastrow Kirst Ashman, 2016).
Another characteristic is diabetes. I can recall a time I went to a doctor to discuss a diet plan for
weight loss. It was a Caucasian lady and myself in his office. He educated us on obesity and health

Keerti s Heavy Influence In Japan
In Japan, many politicians and important people of power are families who have heavy influence
in Japan s economy through companies for products, television, business, and the like. Through
this financial power in advertisements and influence over what can be placed and expressed in
media, there is power over what is considered and thought about within the country. Keerti explains
that this aspect of Japanese life needs to be revised in order to achieve democracyso that all voices
are heard equally and no voices are left or censored out. Keerti also expresses how political
engagement and civics classes are mandatory within secondary school and college in order to

One common aspect across the three personalities is the degradation of the power of the rule by
the elite. All three agree that there is no good democracy that comes from a select group. Not
only because it is the elite in Japan, but it is those in power who are the problem. In Japan, a
majority of the House of Chancellors are passed down through bloodline or company relation.
We cannot be certain that those individuals are trained and knowledgeable in the problems in the
political view. However, this also brings up the concern of public awareness of political issues.
Today, according to Ikeda, Kohno, and Yamada s studies on citizen understanding political
concepts between 1960 1990, many Japanese citizens feel that they had no say in political
decision making and that they were not well educated in the policies and issues being discussed.
As we discussed in class, this is a common problem amongst democracy as a whole, not having a
well educated, well informed general public voting. Finally, the aspect of religious liberty brought
within the political spectrum. Although this contradicts John Locke s beliefs of keeping the politic
and religious spheres separate, this unity of religion ties together an ideal form of democracy for all
three individuals. It is through applying Buddhist values into Japanese government that would
provide a sense of patriotism through

Terrestrial Planets Essay
1.What are the terrestrial planets?
The terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. These planets are composed primarily
of silicate rocks with structures consisting of a central metallic core, mostly iron, with a
surrounding silicate mantle.
2.How were Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune formed?
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune were formed by different types of rock and frozen materials
(water, ammonia, and methane). These materials were once planetesmals, which formed from the
rocky, metallic solid materials that were able to survive the collapse of the solar nebula which
formed our solar system.
3.What role do impact craters play on Venus? Which planetis Earth most like? In what ways is this
planet like Earth?
Venus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, Mercury was once volcanically active, but no longer is. Eighty five percent of
Venus surface is made up of low lying volcanic plains. As we know, Earth has volcanoes. Mars
has two large volcanic systems, with the largest, the Tharsis region, stretching across 8,000
kilometers of the planet. Volcanoes exist due to the buildup of pressure in the outer core. This
forces the molten core up to the surface of a planet, in the form of lava.
4.What are the characteristics of the inner planets? How do these vary from the outer planets?
Inner planets all contain a core, mantle, and crust. These planets are very dense and rocky. In
comparison to outer planets, inner planets are smaller, denser, and rockier.
5.What evidence is there to support that planets exist outside of our Solar System?
The discovery of other stars in early stages of formation support the fact that planets exist outside
of our solar system. These stars, surrounded by disks of gas and dust, are called proplyds.
According to astronomers, these disks are like that which the solar nebula was believed to be
like, providing a good source of evidence of other planets. Extrasolar planets, or planets outside of
our solar system, are believed to have formed from the distortion of the proplyd

Education Budget Cuts
School budgets are being cut lower and lower year by year. For the past 6 years, after the recession,
the funding for education has decreased tremendously. The new budgets are providing less per
pupil funding to kindergarten through 12th grade. At the same, the nation wants graduates to excel
in their technical and analytical skill but the decrease in educational funds are contradicting and
raise concern. The budget cuts in educationsystems delay the school district s ability to deliver high
quality education to their students. Restoring school funding should be a top priority.
For the 2013 2014 school year, at least 34 states are providing less funding per student. Thirteen
of those states have cut back on the funding by ten percent. Fifteen of the states are providing
less funding to the school district then they did the year before. Despite the fact that most states
are experiencing a tax increases. 44 percent of the school funding comes from state funds and,
decreasing those mean the school districts have to scale back the educational services or raise
local property tax to cover to cost; some might have to do a combination of both. Education
budget cuts began in July 2008 with reducing the number of teachers and other employees but as
of August 2013 had cut 324,000 jobs nationally since 2008. Some states increased funding for the
current school years but not nearly, enough to compare to what was cut the previous year. New
Mexico for example had an increase of $72

Good Life In The Great Gatsby
A goal tempted to be achieved by people all over the world is the good life. The idea of endless
happiness is pleasing to everyone. Three components found in achieving the good life is an
intensive feeling of affection a person feels, when their heart starts racing when they see
something they love. Feeling belonged in a society helps a person feel connected and less lonely,
and significance to the world and to the people, feeling that one was put on this earth to make a
change. In an individual s life love, status and significance to the world and one another, are the
basic components in making the good life achievable. Achieving the feeling of love is desperately
wanted among everyone, in a person s lifetime the feeling of love... Show more content on

In a society people will compete and challenge others to have better status than others. Societies
all around the world work around status and every person works to have a good outlook on
themselves so others are intrigued. Glamorous lifestyles, known by everyone is the lifestyle
everyone wants to achieve, in the Great Gatsby social status is the hidden message behind every
action Gatsby did. Gatsby would throw lavish parties to keep his high class outlook. In Great
Gatsby it states, In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the
whisperings and the champagne and the stars... on weekends his Rolls Royce became an
omnibus, hearing parties to and from the city between nine in the morning and ling past midnight..
scrubbing brushes and hammers and garden shears, repairing the ravages of the night before.
(3.1). The high glamour of Gatsby parties was loved by all around the community, Gatsby was
seen as the mysterious high class man who was elegant with expensive personal items which
exemplified his class, and throwed the best parties, his status was amazing and he strived to keep
that up because it was important to him. Commenting on the idea of status, a report was written
about Social Class and Status in Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby stated, Gatsby s success is
dependent on the fact that he did not follow the rules of society. In A Corruption of Character
(2008), by Halmstad University. this provides a visualization that Gatsby was different from those
in a society, which made him stand out more when he hosted insane parties, making his status in the

Racism can be linked to the stolen generation which was a major event in Australia s
history.Lever implies the concept of racism throughout Bad Blood, although one scene in
particular can be found in chapter 21. Mrs Reed would do anything to get rid of Ruby as her
eldest son was having a relationship with the family s servant who was a half caste. Ruby is
accused of stealing Mrs Reed s silver cutlery and a fine crystal glass. After Mrs Reed ask her to
explain herself Ruby answers with This is not about cutlery, I love your son. That is no crime. ,
the words that is no crime are an example of hyperbole. The effect of this exaggeration is that it
helps us readers empathize for Ruby as she is only a half caste servant girl who is not meant to
be with someone who is not her race whose consequence for falling in love with the wrong
person is to be sent away from her love. The dark history of Australia can be seen in Bad Blood
through the theme of racism which is mainly depicted in Ruby s

Rogo who is the manager of manufacturing plant. His plant is one of the few plants which
company operates. Alex s plant was not making enough money to sustain on its own. Orders were

After discussion with Jonah, he ought to think that what exactly he is trying to achieve in his plant.
Alex then goes though lot of brainstorming and comes to conclusion that his plant s goal is to make
money. As long as his plant keeps making money for the company, management would not shut it
down. Another challenge was how to achieve this Goal within the resources and capacity currently
available in the plant. At this point when plant is loosing money management would not allow to
add more machines or capacity to the plant for the sake of productivity. Alex gets in touch with
Jonah and start to learn from him about how to approach this issue. Jonah gives hints to the Alex
and he implements those suggestions and he starts to see the results. There are three main
components to achieve the goal: 1. Throughput 2. Operational expenses 3. Inventory. Alex figures
out that throughput should increase at the same time operational expenses and inventory should
decrease in the system in order to make money. When he starts to apply this concept he learns
about the new concept called bottlenecks. Bottlenecks are the processes in the system which
consumes the most amount of time and have more load than available capacity. So when he adds
capacity to the bottlenecks, non bottlenecks had waiting inventory to be processed. The main
challenge here is to achieve the balance between those two processes. He learns

The Death Of Marat By Jacques-Louis David
The Death of Marat by Jacques Louis David is a well known painting constructed during the
French Revolution. The main character of the painting was called Jean Paul Marat. Marat was a
lawyer during this time period. In his time alive he was able to defend many French people that
weren t able to defend themselves even if he suffered while doing it. Initially, Marat was killed
by Charlotte Corday. Corday was a young royalist who believed that she was destined to liberate
France. One of the main reasons that Corday killed Marat was because of the anti royalist
politics that he represented also known as lower class people. As a lawyer Marat was able to
help his patients and attending his terrible skin disease at the same time. Furthermore, what Marat
did for the French people was extraordinary. He would defend the French people who couldn t
defend themselves. This was very hard to find during this age because most of the people believed
in what the King would say and do. When Marat was assassinated the people felt like they could no

David captures the political circumstances in France through the depiction of this historical event
by showing that the pen will always be mightier than the sword. No matter how bad the
community is getting beaten up with the sword, the words that are left behind are what will
make the difference in history even bigger for future generations. In other words David was
telling the people that it was now time to fight back. To conclude, David s The Death of Marat
has a lot of symbolism in it. It shows how if it wouldn t have been for Marat the peasants of
France would have nobody to defend them, how Marat would put his clients first before himself,
and how the pen will always be mightier that a

  • 17. The Value Of Philosophy By Bertrand Russell The essay The Value of Philosophy by Bertrand Russell suggests that many practical people view philosophy as rather useless, because these people are according to Bertrand Russell operating both with wrong conceptions about the ends of life and wrong conceptions about what goods philosophy strives to achieve. According to Russell the value of philosophyis in what it does for the person who studies it. He makes the point that goods of the mindare as important in life as goods of the body. He says that the main value of philosophy is that it enlarges one s thoughts, brings one into union with the not Self , and helps us avoid being caught in narrowness as human beings. His main ideas are that philosophy is to be studied to enrich our intellects, diminish our dogmatism, and make us citizens of the universe. In the essay, Russell presents the study of philosophy as a valuable undertaking, even though it does not directly help the whole world or increase one s material wealth. The value is to be found for the student of philosophy herself or himself. This value is primarily found in the intellectual development that is available for those who undertake the study philosophy. They can escape narrowness, dogmatism, and narrowness as they become citizens of the world, with enriched intellectual capacities. Russell concludes with the idea that the mind becomes enlarged through the study of philosophy. [PLEASE NOTE!: I have not put much commentary on the quotes here, but ... Some did hold jobs, such as artisans, craftsmen, or seamstresses. • 23. Reflection On Solidarity Versus Charity After having been in your domestic/ national/international field placement, what is your perspective on solidarity versus charity? Provide examples from your experience. When I think of solidarity and charity, they both appear very similar and there is no black and white answer. However, when I think of charity, I always think of giving to those who have less than you. It is this idea that you may have authority or higher power over someone less fortunate. When volunteering for a charity, there is this idea that anything a volunteer does will be helpful. An example of charity to me, would be donating cloths to a shelter. From experience, interning at a shelter, people would always donate clothes. As this was necessary and helpful, at one point we were unable to accept any more clothing donations because we had too much. I think when people donate clothes, they automatically think they are contributing to the charity, following the idea that by doing that they helped the agency out. Solidarity on the other hand is a more personal approach to helping others. To me solidarity is when an individual truly works with others to identify what it is that they need or want, not just assuming that whichever service they provide will be helpful. I believe that solidarity takes more of an equality and empowering approach, which leads to working more collaboratively with individuals. This period was defined by choice and analysis of events, and is emulated through Hamlet s alliterated statement in his soliloquy in Scene 3, Act 1, conscience makes cowards of us all. Hamlet believes he is in a psychological state of cowardice, and that his conscience is holding him back through his assessment of the consequences of acting on the orders of the ghost. L.C. • 37. Eugenics And The Eugenics Movement Introduction Human beings have always been interested in success, in making sure they survive, and creating new tools and technology to enable them to reach these goals. So it should come as no surprise that eugenics follows this same guideline in human history. A term originally coined by Francis Galton, first cousin to Charles Darwin, eugenicssimply means that the best people in society with the most healthy normal genes should continue to reproduce and pass on their goodness to the next generation, while the individuals with the unhealthy genes should be discouraged from having any children (Allen 2001:59). With movements beginning in the early 20th century, eugenicists and proponents of the eugenics movement, have taken particular interests in the heritability of social behaviors, implementing enforcement mechanisms such as military force, law, and forced medical procedures in order to maintain the well being of societies future generations. Although society today frowns upon many instances of eugenics in our history, it is still being practiced in the 21st century. Contemporary eugenics has become much more technologically advanced and individually focused through the means of prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Although these two approaches (past and present) to the eugenics movement are conducted in different ways, the motivations behind them are theoretically similar. • 39. Stigmatization Of Black Queer Men Essay Stigmatization of Black Queer Men For every Black man that is born, each is gifted with the rigid expectations of being a hyper masculine male. These expectations seemed to be passed down through generations from family members. The study African American Gay Youth and Their Families: Redefining Masculinity, Coping with Racism and Homophobia. , portrays some of the hardships of coming out within this specific community. A mother who was interviewed in this study said You are told to be a man ... and being a man does not mean you sleep with other men, she said. Being a man means you have a woman and you procreate and continue the family name. And for queer black men especially, this expectation of needing a woman to be the validation for your manhood takes a toll on them and their ability to feel safe in coming out. In this essay I intend to outline the problematic expectations and stigmatization of the black queer male community and develop ways in which this problem can start to be overcome while dealing with different sections of intersectionality. Black men are often viewed as emotionless, physically strong, hyper sexual, and mischievous. There are so many rules surrounding what passing is as a man. However, not all of these rules are created by Black men themselves. These are the rules the media portrays, neighbors portray and even women in elevators clutching their purses portray. • 40. Summary Of Charles Darwin And The Leakey Charles Darwin Vs The Leakeys: Charles Darwin and the Leakey s are two very similar yet different anthropologist s whose discoveries have had an immense impact on the world of anthropology. However, which of the two anthropologist s is better? Although the two are without a doubt, legends in anthropology history, Charles Darwin is definitely better due to the greater impact his discovery has had on the way we live. His theory of evolution by natural selection is the basis for many things we know today, and without it, we would not know a lot of the things we do. It is from his theory that we were able to learn exactly how we came to be, a question that anthropologists have been asking for several years. Therefore, when looking at who is a better anthropologist, it is clear that the answer is Charles Darwin because his discovery has had a larger impact on the way we live. To begin with, Charles Darwin and The Leakey s are different because they both discovered different things. While Darwin came up with a theory of evolution by natural selection, The Leakey s found the earliest fossil of our genus, known as homo. Darwin came up with his theory in 1859. The theory explained that evolution is due to a phenomenon called natural selection. According to his theory, natural selection is a process where only the organisms best adapted to their environment survive and transmit their genetic characters in increasing numbers to succeeding generations, while those less adapted tend to be eliminated. He explained it as Multiply, vary, let the strongest survive and the weakest die (cite). On the other hand, the Leakey s did not come up with a theory, instead, they uncovered the earliest fossil of our genus, referred to as homo. Their discovery led to the confirmation of the theory that humans are of African descent. Even though their actual discoveries differed, Charles Darwin and the Leakeys are both similar in the sense that the two are significant contributors to the understanding of our origins. Charles Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection is responsible for explaining where all living things came from, as well as how they became exquisitely adapted to their particular environments. However, there are also other factors that assisted conservative dominance. Whether that be conservative strengths, good timing, the end of austerity or their handle on public opinion, all factors contributed to the dominant years. Failure to exploit opportunities was also another labour problem. The 1956 sued crisis provided labour with a great opportunity to get back on the attack. However, Suez did not split the conservatives and labour were left with few targets to aim at in hoping to gain more supporters. The Labour party s inability to counter conservative mistakes was a direct result of their disunity. As well as labour disunity there are other factors to consider as to why conservatives dominated. Firstly, the reorganisation of the party machine led by Lord Woolton after the dislocation caused by the war and the shock defeat for the conservatives in 1946 proved pivotal for the conservatives in improving their ideas (new conservatives with new ideas) and general organisation. The conservatives recognised the extent of public approval for the legacy of the Attlee government. Most Conservatives grasped the political realities of the time. There can be no outright rejection of the welfare state, nor a total reversal of nationalisation. Attitudes towards industry, the trade unions and social policy were going to have to be very different from the 1930s because the experiences of the war years had made people far more ready to accept the need for state intervention and planning.
