The Requirements For Starting A Corporation
The requirements for starting a corporation in the United States. In the united states, starting a
corporation is not too hard, but it has some steps to it. A Corporation is a legal separate and distinct
entity from its owner. A corporation is created (incorporated) by a group of shareholders who have
ownership of the corporation, represented by their holding of common stock. Shareholders elect a
board of directors (generally receiving one vote per share) who appoint and oversee management of
the corporation. Although a corporation does not necessarily have to be for profit, the vast majority of
corporations are setup with the goal of providing a return for its shareholders. When you purchase
stock you are becoming part owner in a corporation. (Investopedia.com) A corporation the USA must
be formed in compliance with corporate law, which is a state law. Most corporations incorporate
where their principal place of business is located, but not all do, for example, Delaware chancery(A
court with jurisdiction to decide cases based on equity as well as law) has a reputation for fairly and
quickly applying a very well developed body of corporate law in the state of Delaware, that s why lots
of companies chose to corporate in the state of Delaware even though they have no business presence
there. To start a corporation, the corporate founders must file the articles of incorporation with the
state agency charged with managing business entities. These articles might vary from

Mucci Mag Transformational Leader Essay
The average American receives information of current events by television, paper magazines, radio
and social media. News reporting has become a very competitive industry where creativity becomes
key to the success of the company. For a news reporting magazine like Mucci Mag to be successful,
the company will need a transformational leader who can keep the magazine moving forward in an
innovative path. A transformational leader expands their capabilities and move outside of the
transactional space and into a transformational space that focuses on long term solutions rather than
short term gains. (Hogg Bill, 2017). Behind the scenes at Mucci Mag (a magazine publishing

They are courageously imperfect, embrace their true selves, and regularly exhibit integrity, vision, and
compassion in a way that awakens and inspires others. When the Transformational leader is
courageous enough to evoke changes for their team, they are also providing intellectual stimulation.
This stimulation will occur by speaking to each other, brainstorming ideas, debating topics, and
discovering and encouraging new ideas. When the Transformational leader is courageous, others in
their team will become inspired by their values and the ability to trust their way of thinking. In
conclusion, a Transformational leader with a clear vision and courage can bring change to a team.
They can inspire others with creativity and can direct a company to become innovative in their
industry. Their job requires a great deal of passion when it comes to sharing your innovative ideas and
vision with others. The Transformational leadership core is courage. When a leader leads with

The Causes And Consequences Of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a huge turning point in history at which the development of industry
began in England in the 18th century. It introduced machinery to the world. The industrial revolution
was characterized by hand production to new machine manufacturing, the increased use of steam
power, the rise of the factory system and development of machine tools. As time passed by, the
technological innovations continued to shape the modern world, Everything that everybody uses
throughout their daily lives is due to manufacturing. How would people ever have been able to put a
man on the moon or get to travel from New York to Paris without the things that came from the
Industrial Revolution? Of course, the consequences of the industrial revolution were brutal, but for the
most part there were solutions to those consequences, that changed the world for the greater good. The
benefits of the industrial revolution outweigh the costs because it led to the creation of unions, and the
technological innovations from the industrial revolution helped change the lifestyle of many people.
Some will say that the benefits of the industrial revolution do not outweigh the cost because child
labor was terrible, and many workers were working in horrible condition at low wages for long hours.
When the industrial revolution began, the rise of the factory system was high. But there were no rules
of how a factory should be run, considering it was a capitalist economy. In a capitalist

Pmf Job Fair Essay
After attending the PMF Job fair on Monday, I ve learned more information about the process that I
thought would be helpful to pass along. The purpose of the Presidential Management Fellowship is to
recruit candidates for jobs that are traditionally harder to fill and provide them with the training
needed to become a leader in that role. Although the agency would have to pay a $7,000 fee and also
fund 160 hours of training within the 2 years of the fellowship, this is an opportunity for the agency to
recruit qualified staff at a fraction of the cost. Regular positions are often converted into PMF
positions to fill agencies needs by the designated Human resources Manger. For example, you are
trying to fill the position we discussed at the GS 12/13 level but it may be difficult to recruit someone
who is highly qualified. You could hire a PMF with experience like mine at a GS 9/11 level and train
them for the position. At the end of the first year of this two year fellowship, if I receive favorable
scores on my performance review, I move up to a GS 11/12. At the end of the fellowship, if I continue
to do well on evaluations I advance to a GS 12/13. Usually, PMF s are converted to permeant or term
positions however this up to the discretion of the agency. As a PMF, I ... Show more content on

Evaluation Of A New Hybrid Strategy
Abstract
Testing is an important process in software development and widely used by developers to reveal
bugs. Often, software failures can lead to disastrous consequences such as loss of data, fortune and
lives. Test engineers have generated a set of test cases to validate against the user requirements. The
highest number of reduction can save a cost of testing. When dealing with a large line of code (LOCs)
there still has redundancy happened. Our experiment studies about hybrid tReduct GNA_SA and the
existing strategies to counter test redundancy reduction issues. In our experiment, we apply four
(tReductLAHC, tReductSA, tReductGNA and tReduct GNA_SA) test suite reduction strategies for six
different situation. After that, we then measure the effectiveness of the diversified solutions of four
test suite reduction strategies. Our experiment shows that a new hybrid strategy tReduct GNA_SA
offers more effectiveness to reduce redundancy compared to existing work.

What Is The Tone In The Masque Of The Red Death
Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe is about when a plague strikes a kingdom somewhere in
Europe. The Prince decides that he can protect himself from this plague by securing himself in his
castle. He believes that the plague won t harm him and that he can defeat death. But he is not so
fortunate at the end of the story. The three literary devices that will be discussed are the symbol, tone,
and theme. The Tone of Masque of the Red Death is more of a darker atmosphere. At the beginning of
the story, the author starts off like this The Red Death had long devastated the country. No pestilence
had ever been so fatal, or so hideous. Blood was it is Avatar and its seal the redness and the horror of

a thief in the night. (394). No one would expect the Red Death to come in especially the prince. Who
thought that he would be safe in his big castle. The prince sends his guards to run after the stranger,
but the stranger gets away. The Prince gets away and the stranger leads him to the seventh room which
is the next symbol. The prince follows the stranger into this room and the reason it symbolizes death
because this is where he dies. Poe describes this room as The seventh apartment was closely shrouded
in black velvet tapestries that hung all over the ceiling and down the walls, falling in heavy folds upon
a carpet of the same material and hue. But in this chamber only, the color of the windows failed to

Malcom X And The Civil Rights Movement
Fahad Algarni Ms. Kristi Brock ENG 101 College Writing (WC) 15 July 2015 Analysis of Ballot or
Bullet On 3rd April 1964, Malcom X addressed the Negro community assembled in Cleveland over
the controversial issue of the civil rights movement. The Ballot or the Bullet speech of Malcom X can
be considered as a direct response to I have a Dream speech of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Malcom X
and Dr. Martin were taking a stand for the true freedom of the same community but with a diagonally
opposite philosophies. Dr. Martin chose a non violent approach inspired from an Indian freedom
fighter Gandhi, whereas Malcom X s approach was radical and violent. The aim of Malcom s speech
was to invoke a need for action amongst the African American community while at the same time
generating a fear of civil war amongst the Whites. Ballot or Bullet can be considered as one of the
most influential speeches that America has ever witnessed. It can be noticed that there has been an
extensive use of rhetorical appeals such as emotional appeal (pathos) and cold grave logic (logos).
Also the credibility (ethos) of the author is built because of the reference that were strategically used
in the speech to relate to the people present to listen to the speech in person. Even though Malcom s
speech seems in support of the African American community, the credibility of the speaker is damaged
because of multiple usage of attacking the character of the White politicians and the White people in

Essay about Alexander The Great
Alexander The Great was one of the greatest emperors and leaders of the world. In fact, he was the
only emperor to be called, quot; The Great. quot; He had studied under a great Greek Philosopher,
Aristotle, who taught Alexander literature, science, medicine, philosophy and to speak and write well.
Alexander was the son of Philip of Macedonia. Philip became king of Macedonia in 359 B.C., but
died in 336 B.C. He left his kingdom to Alexander.
Alexander ruled for only thirteen years but he succeeded far beyond what his father had planned. After
his father s death in 336 B.C., Alexander became king of Macedonia. He strengthened his claim of
king by quickly stopping revolts by Athens, which tried to break away from Macedonia, by destroying

Darius, was killed by his own soldiers, Alexander declared himself king of Persia Alexander was
determined to conquer the whole world.
In 327 B.C., Alexander led his armies into India. Soon after that, the Macedonians refused to go
further and wanted to return to their homes and families because they had been fighting for six years.
Reluctantly, Alexander agreed to turn back. He arrived in Babylon in 323 B.C. but shortly caught a
fever and died. He was not yet 33 years old.
Alexander the Great admired Athens and the Greek culture so he brought many Greek ideas to the non
Greek people of his empire. He spread Greek civilization throughout wester Asia, and opened the east
to Greek trade. Alexander had a very open mind. He adopted ideas and customs from the people he
had conquered. He married a Persian princess and Persians served in his army. Wherever he
conquered lands, he made new cities. The most famous city he named Alexandria, in Egypt.

Rain drops splashed on top of the rooftop as the sun began to set .Amber hopped of the counter in the
kitchen and walked over to the fireplace were we were all sitting at. I opened up a can of ravioli and
poured it in a pan and began to warm it up on my portable cooking stove. Amber sat beside me as we
felt the warmth of the fireplace. Eve was rocking back in forth in the corner her face in her knees eyes
not blinking as she seemed to be in deep thought. I focused my attention on Isamu who was staring
out the window staring at the rain his hands behind his back probably contemplating what he will say.
He turned around and looked at me and Amber and released his hands behind his back .
I am going to just cut to the chase I have kept you two waiting for a very long time and I have come to

Impact Of The Great War On The World War I
The Great War
The War to end all Wars
1914 1918
The First World War was one of the most remarkable wars in history. Out of one shot from a Serbian
rebel came one of the bloodiest conflicts in human history, and one of the most revolutionary.
(importance of world war one, 2015) The purpose of this assignment was to find out the role of
Australia in the war and its impact upon the nation. In this assignment, key events and actions that
lead to the outbreak of war and Australia s involvement in the war will be talked about. A particular
element of the First World War is the technology that was used. Weaponry, artillery, aircrafts and
technological advances will also be mentioned.

As the war progressed, further acts of aggression drew other countries into the conflict. (How did the
First World War start?, 2015) Australia became involved in the First World War because they were part
of the British Empire at the time. Once Britain declared war, Australia was automatically involved in
the war, as well as all her other colonies.
Technology in World War 1 World War One had introduced machine guns, modern artillery and
airplanes to the battlefield. Horses were removed from the battlefield, replaced by tanks in 1916.
(World War 1, 2015) A wide variety of weapons were used in this period of time. Before World War I,
there were no machine guns. Instead, hand cranked Gatling guns were used, and riflemen had to
reload after every shot. However, it was in the First World War that the machine gun would rise to
dominate the battlefields. By 1914, gas driven, water cooled machine guns had been perfected. A two
man team could fire hundreds of rounds per minute. (World War 1, 2015) It was easy to kill opposing
army on a larger scale, did not require constant reloading, was accurate and was easily mountable on
many things like ships and planes. Because of the use of machine guns, trenches were used
extensively in World War 1. A trench is a long, narrow

Ella Wheeler Wilcox s Poem Solitude
Ella Wheeler Wilcox creates and displays a realistic tone in her poem Solitude through her usage of
diction, imagery, and details. To begin, the author uses specific diction to express a realistic tone in her
piece. Ella Wheeler Wilcox shows real life wisdom with a strong usage of polar opposite words in
order to deeply express the conflicting paths taken in life. She states, ...full measure of all your
pleasure...not need your woe. Pleasure and woe are used as polar opposites, which shows how
negatives introduce new negatives; likewise, when one is positive, new positives are further
reinforced. The word woe is used as a stronger word than the fundamental phrase sad ness to describe
the sorrow and contagious pain one may carry onto another. The writer also decides to include long
and lordly train... to describe life. Train is an incredible word describing the length and amazing
journey that is life, that happiness may still shine through in a tough life. A realistic and powerfully
true piece is achieved through the writer s diction throughout the text. ... Show more content on

The religion of Islam has become a controversial issue in today s 21st century. In spite of excessively

The Global War on Terror is a military campaign led by the United States and the United Kingdom
and supported by other NATO members. It was originally against al Qaeda and other terrorist
organizations with the purpose of eliminating them. This paper discusses how the Bush Administration
handled the War on Terror as well as different aspects of it, including its terminology, its objectives, its
military operations and criticism against it.
The United States of America was deeply shocked when, on September 11, 2001, airplanes we used as

Moreover, most Muslim communities around the world condemned these acts. Politicians have tried
very hard to separate terrorists from Muslims, but it has been difficult. Economical and geopolitical
history has led to some elements of distrust, as well as extremism in both Christian and Muslim
communities adding to the animosity.
The War on Terror campaign has been addressed by many other names such as: World War III, Bush s
War on Terror, The Long War and The Global War on Terror. It with in Camp David on September 16,
2001, that President George W. Bush used the term War on Terror. In an infamous quote, President
Bush said, This crusade this war on terrorism is going to take a while... This comment was deemed
controversial due to the negative associations of the term crusade with Muslims.
The term War on Terror alone has created a psychological phenomenon that struck fear in the minds of
many Americans. The Bush Administration elevated those three words to a national mantra that had
impacted the American democracy destructively. It had impacted the American psyche as well as the
United States standing in the world. In an article by Zibigniew Brzezinski, he explains, Using this
phrase has actually undermined our ability to effectively confront the real challenges we face from
fanatics who may use terrorism against us.

Genocide Of The International Criminal Court
Introduction Genocide is defined as violent crimes committed against a group of people with the
intention to destroy the existence of the group. Usually these crimes are committed against racial,
religious, national or ethnical groups. These crimes can vary from simply murder to deliberately
inflicting the group s conditions of life, other crimes such as causing serious bodily or mental harm,
imposing measures to prevent births within the group and forcibly transferring children from the
group to another group. All these crimes are aimed to serve one goal that is destroy the existence of a
certain group, whatever the crime may be it all serves as genocide. In 2002 the International Criminal
Court was established to help prevent crimes against humanity. Genocide is one of those crimes the
court set forth to prevent, although genocide may seem like a crime that must be listed under crimes
against humanity or war crimes, it is the intent of destroying the existence of a certain group that
separates it from similar crimes. Other acts that are related to genocide are also punishable by law,
such as: conspiracy to commit genocide, direct and public incitement to commit genocide, attempt to
commit genocide and complicity in genocide. Some of these laws might seem obvious to some of us,
but the term genocide was only found in 1944 that is after the Second World War (the holocaust). Nazi

Rhetorical Strategies In The Antiwar Protest
The Antiwar Protest of the late 1950s and early 1960s was a successful protest movement that utilized
effective protest politics as defined by Zoe Trodd in her book, American Protest Literature. The
effectiveness of the protest was due to the movement causing the American public to challenge their
belief in the nation s leaders capacity to provide unquestionable truths and due to the protest placing a
colossal amount of powerful pressure on the nation s leaders.(Zimmerman) Many historians believe
the success of the protest led to a change in policy and a change in the American public s view of
politicians.(Zimmerman)
The Antiwar Protest began in the late 1950s and early 1960s.(Zimmerman) The protest effort was
centered around two groups: peace groups formed by left wing activists that opposed the Cold War
and America s interference in other countries and a group of students that felt the government was
high handed and unjust, Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). (Zimmerman) These groups had a
mission to educate the public about Vietnam and convert large amounts of Americans around to their
antiwar agenda.(Zimmerman) Early on, the groups formulated a plan to bring about the change they
sought by using the press, literature, music, and the public domain.(Zimmerman) The Antiwar Protest
used three rhetorical strategies: empathy, shock value, and symbolic actions.(Trodd) Of the three
strategies, the movement relied most heavily on shock value. Bill Zimmerman, an

The bottom line is that people love to gamble. The success of Las Vegas, the revitalization of Atlantic
City, and the huge success of Indian run casinos are not without reason at all. People have a
fascination with casinos and gambling. The popularity of the casino is becoming more and more
popular everyday. The last few years the casino has become a craze. Las Vegas tourism has been
booming in the last five years. In 1998 alone a little over 30 million people visited Las Vegas. Five
years later, in 2003 that number grew by over to percent to close to 35 million guests. The amount of

Team B,
You have done a great job on the assignment. I have noted some minor issues to help you on future
assignments.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the budget process. It analyzes flexible budgets,
discusses the relationship between fixed and variable cost, explores the differences between static and
flexible budgets, and how budgets assist in the cost volume profitability analysis.
The Purpose of Flexible Budgets A budget is a tool used by businesses to plan for upcoming revenues
and expenses. Businesses understand the difficulty of planning for the future. Circumstances ... Show

These budgets differ from static budgets in that they show projected expenses and revenue at a variety
of levels (Edmonds, 2007). Like all budgets, the flexible budget establishes line items for expenses
and revenue for a given period with a value assigned to each line. This budgeting approach allows for
quick changes to line items in the event of unforeseen complications. A rigid, static budget that is
based on a single set of projections, and doesn t [Contractions are inappropriate in academic writing

How a flexible budget lends itself to a cost volume profit analysis Flexible budgets are a very useful
management tool. These types of tools can provide information needed for planning and performance
evaluation. Flexible budgets are based on actual volume of activity [Add comma here for clarity or to
offset an afterthought from the rest of the sentence] which assists organizations with achieving
desirable profit levels. Managers may assess whether the company s cash position is adequate by
assuming different levels of volume. They may judge if the number of employees, amounts of
materials, and equipment and storage facilities are appropriate for a variety of different potential levels
of volume, (Edmonds, 2007, p. 5). A flexible budget often compliments a cost volume profit (CVP)
analysis. Both

Major Themes In Brave s Life
Robotics prodigy Hiro lives in the city of San Fransokyo. Next to his older brother, Tadashi, Hiro s
closest companion is Baymax, a robot whose sole purpose is to take care of people. When a
devastating turn of events throws Hiro into the middle of a dangerous plot, he transforms Baymax and
his other friends, Go Go Tamago, Wasabi, Honey Lemon and Fred into a band of high tech heroes. All
of them fight to beat the masked man from taking over the entire world.
Some majors themes in the movie are friendship, anger, and creativity. Early on the movie, it is known
that Hiro is a lonely child, his only friends are his brother and his toy robot. After the loss of Tadashi,

He gets mad at Callaghan for what happened to his brother and feels the need to seek revenge on him.
His friends encourage him not to kill Callaghan because of what happened to his brother. Listening to
his friends, Hiro does not kill Callaghan and it turns out to be a great decision that he made. This
theme in this movie is relevant today because many people often feel the need to seek revenge if
something bad was inflicted upon them. For example, when my brother punched me in the stomach
randomly just to inflict harm on me, I felt the natural want to punch him back for what he has done. In
hindsight, it is not good to seek revenge because it just made the situation worse, both sides wounded
after the brawl. While many may believe that seeking revenge is the way to settle disputes, in many
cases, people tend to end up getting hurt like I did myself. Another moral in the story is friends and
family help each other. After the event that happened to his brother, his family and friends helped
comfort him. Baymax, his personal healthcare robot, diagnoses Hiro and finds out that his emotional
health is low, so it prescribes Hiro with support from his family and friends. On top of that, his friends

Similarities Between Napoleon And Snowball And The Russian...
How did the characters of Napoleon and Snowball fill in the gap between reality and imagination with
a focused scope on Stalin and Trotsky?
The Introduction
The leading historians told us so much information about the Russian Revolution starting from the
appearance of the new ideologies related to people like Carl Marx, many changes happened to the
Soviet society so that no one could predict what was going to happen. The dilemma was based on the
fact that many changes happened to the different classes of the Soviet society starting from the leading
class to the poorest one.
The Discussion of the Question of the Study
Many people in Russia who used to live in the basements during the Tsar Era had become living in the
upper rooms of the Tsar palaces. Everything had come upside down.
There are other changes related to the ideologies that moved life in Russia. These ideologies had been
gathered in a way or another under the slogan of communism . It seemed to be good for the Soviet
society in Russia as well but the consequences prove to be wrong.
Stalin was supposed the real leader who should implement the rules of communism but just like
Napoleon, he was the first to break these rules. Stalin used to live in a very luxurious life while the
Russian people were working and working and dying! The analogy between this reality and the ...

Different Models And Theories Associated With Adult Learning
There is several different models and theories associated with adult learning. Through my research it
seems that andragogy is the first thing educators think of when adult learning process is mentioned.
Malcolm Knowles says, Andragogy is the art and science of helping others learn (Merriam, Caffarella,
Baumgartner, 2007). Andragogy are learning strategies focused on adults. It is often interpreted as the
process of engaging adult learners with the structure of the learning experience (Clardy, 2005).
Andragogy is an assumption that there are different characteristics and requirements when it comes to
learning between adults and children. Therefore, the learning procedures used in teaching adults must
be altered from the pedagogical procedures related to teaching children. Andragogy is based on five
assumptions concerning the adult learner (ASTD, 2007).
First is the assumption that as a person matures, their self concept moves from a dependent personality
towards more of a self directing personality. (Merriam et al., 2007). At this point the learner is
considered self directed. The second assumption is that an adult accumulates a growing reservoir of
experience, which is a rich resource for learning (Merriam et al., 2007). Basically, adults can utilize
their experiences to influence themselves and others. Third, the readiness for an adult to learn is in
close relation to the developmental tasks of the adult s social role. (Clardy, 2005). This readiness to
learn is a direct

Leadership Styles With Personal Leadership Style
Leadership
Leadership is a vital part of the business environment because it entails of giving direction to member
in order to accomplish a common goal. Leadership styles are important aspects of an organization
because certain techniques are more effective in different situations. When leadership is effective, then
the outcomes are positive and desired goals are attained. This paper will explore the different
leadership styles with reference to my own personal leadership style. It will give reasons why a
participative style works best in the healthcare profession.
Leadership Styles
There are four types of leadership styles that describe the amount of interaction a leader has to its
members. The leadership styles include autocratic, consultative and participative and free rein leaders
(Lamberton Minor, 2014). Autocratic is a leadership style that has the leader as the dictator giving
direction to members to follow. The group members are expected to follow the orders without inquiry
and focus on task completion. This style leaves little room for individual development among its
members however, can be effective in situations that demands strong leadership such as in crisis
situations. Consultative leadership style involves having the leader spend a decent amount of time
conferring with other members on ways to tackle the situation. Under this leadership, tasks are
delegated to the proper individuals with the right skill set fit for job. The focus is on

Targeting Stereotypes
On a similar subject, consumers would generally prefer to see targeted ads over generic ads because
targeted ads can help consumers shop great prices and make informed decisions about a product they
are in the market for. When shopping online, algorithms take your previous data about things like
shopping, style preferences, brand preferences, etc. This data can then be used in order to give the
consumer ads that relate to these things. So say a consumer shops for a product online, say that
particular consumer only shops prices on one particular site for that product. These algorithms can
take the information about you shopping for these products and promote advertisements for similar
sites that may sell the same or similar products for better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I really wanted to get a long board that I could use to get myself around campus when I got for school,
as I knew that longboards are a common form of transportation around college campuses. Little did I
know Doane was so small that everyone walked and no one uses long boards, but that is a different
conversation for a different time. So I go online to shop, but I really only knew of one company that
sold longboards, at least the quality of longboards I was in the market for. That company was Zumiez.
So I go to their website and start shopping around for the best longboards, shopping all of the styles
and prices to find some of the best options. However, when I had looked through all of the possible
options, I was shocked by the price just about every time. The prices were way out of my small high
school graduation money budget. So from there in my mind I really only had one option, try to get
more money before the end of the summer, or else I was not going to be able to afford a longboard.
However, shortly after looking for longboards on Zumiez, I was scrolling through Twitter when I got
an ad for a smaller and less known shop, BC surf and sport. So, I get curious and go to their site to see
what they have to offer. On their site, I find out that they sell mostly the same longboards, however
they also sell a local made brand of high quality longboards that sell for a lower price. And the best
thing about them, they have designs of the Colorado flag on them so I get to always have a little piece
of home. So I instantly make this purchase and never look

The Diet Of The Atkins Diet
A physician by the name of Robert Atkins started the Atkins Diet in 1972 after he stumbled upon a
study he read in the Journal of the American Medical Association about weight reduction through the
elimination of sugar and starch. At the time he was overweight and decided to implement this study
into his own life and ended up losing a significant amount of weight. This led him to promoting the
diet in his own series of books. The overall premise of the diet is to start with limiting the number of
carbohydrates being consumed while eating as much fat and protein you want. Then, gradually
increasing the amount of healthy carbohydrates consumed. There are 4 phases to the Atkins diet:
Induction, Ongoing Weight Loss, Pre Maintenance, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second phase of the Atkins diet is Ongoing Weight Loss where you slowly increase the amount of
carbohydrates in your diet. Essentially you add 5 grams of carbs to your diet every week until you
reach a point where you aren t gaining or losing weight (Atkins, 2002). The third phase of the diet is
Pre Maintenance in which carbohydrate intake is slightly increased again. However, this time the
increase is significant enough that the body is no longer in a state of ketosis. The key here is to find a
maximum level of carbohydrates you can consume without gaining weight (Atkins, 2002). Lifetime
Maintenance is the final phase of the Atkins diet. In this phase you are expected to carry out the habits
acquired from the previous phases. If you find yourself gaining weight again then you can revert back
to one of the previous phases. This is a permanent lifestyle you need to adapt in order to carry on with
the progress you made so far (Atkins, 2002). The main reason we are limiting carbohydrates in the
first place is to control the release of insulin by the pancreas. Carbohydrates are responsible for raising
insulin levels, which in turn promotes glucose uptake by the cells. On the other hand, insulin initiates
a pathway that inhibits fat breakdown and at the same time promotes synthesis of fatty acid,
cholesterol, and glycogen. Therefore, elevated levels of insulin are associated with cardiovascular
disease.

you re playing a lot of color boys, are you concern whether the Negro players can handle the pressure
at the national level? The reporter is implying how a team with mostly only African American players

enough to handle the mental strains. The African American athletes were only shown for their
physique because they were only capable of playing great basketball. Coach Haskin didn t care if they

American were tools to win the championship. The interviewer may see them as physically fit, but not

The Process of Photosynthesis and Practicals
Introduction One of the most important bological processes on earth is photosynthesis. Plants that
comprise the majority of the food we consume need photosynthesis in order to produce life sustaining
energy. This energy is harnessed by the sun. If it were not for photosynthesis to capture and use this
vital energy, life itself would be minimal or almost non existent. Photosynthesis entails a process that
involves complex and fundamental actions that occur in plants, algae as well as some bacteria. They
use sunlight to produce carbohydrates. Oxygen is then created from carbon dioxide (CO2) and water
(Jackson, 2008). The carbohydrates created through photosynthesis enables growth and normal
functioning for the plant to sustain life. Here is an example of a formulation of photosynthesis by
Campbell et al. Light 6CO2 + 6H20 6 (CH2O) + 6O2 Chlorophyll (Campbell et al. 2009) Chloroplasts
are the main place for photosynthesis to occur in plants occurs. Chloroplasts are important organelles,
and can be found within plant cells. The structure of chloroplasts are complex networks of sacs. These
are called thylakoids. Chlorophyll. located within the membranes of thylakoids, give color to plants
(Campbell et al. 2009). Cholrophyll is a key component in allowing most photosynthesis. Chlorophyll
a and chlorophyll b are the two forms within chlorophyll. Along with chlorophylls, chloroplasts
contain other photosynthesising pigments. These are called carotene

Violence, Terrorism, and the Interactions between Cultures
When humans from different cultures interact, the result is often bloodshed, domination and disease.
Also, without exception, the exchange of ideas gradually occurs. All of these factors have shaped the
course of history. While much of the spread of disease has been reduced since the Black Death, much
bloodshed still comes from the interaction of cultures, possibly from physical contact without
intellectual or rational interaction and understanding. Interaction itself is necessary and does result in
good as well, especially in terms of technological advancements.
The spread of disease is possibly one of the most dramatic results of interactions between cultures.

(Diamond) Millions of Romans died during the fifteen year epidemic. In the fourteenth century, the
Black Death (bubonic plague) traveled from Central Asia to Europe and killed a third of Europe s
population. It continued to reappear periodically for the next 300 years. The Great Plague hit London
in 1665 and was killing about 6,000 people a week by September. (Ponting) Close quarters and a lack
of good sanitation helped perpetuate the problem.
While this logic seems sound, it is also true that we have limited knowledge of the history of meso
American peoples and the diseases they may have discovered. For example, the Mayans disappeared
mysteriously, and disease has been suggested as the cause. What we do know is that when the
Europeans interacted with the indigenous American peoples, the Americans had no immunity to the
diseases the Europeans carried, while the Europeans health remained unaffected by the interaction.
(Diamond) The result of the spread of European diseases was drastic. When CortĂŠs tried to conquer
the Aztecs in 1519, he barely managed to make his way back to the coast with the remaining third of
his men. The second time he tried, smallpox had preceded him, resulting in the deaths of half of the
Aztecs and some depressingly better luck for CortĂŠs. The disease killed over 18 million of Mexico s
initial 20 million people by 1618. (Diamond)

The similarities are that both opera and oratorio have soloists, ensemble, distinguishable characters,
arias, and choirs. Most of the arias in opera are very similar in musical style, form, nature of the
musical ideas, and technique of expressing affects to the arias in oratorios. Handel s arias in operas
have strictly Da Capo structure which makes them longer because of repeating. Since many people
didn t like the idea of using of Da Capo and the fact that after the character is done singing exited the
stage, both of these things were abandoned. Today arias are in strophic form as in ballad opera. One
more big similarity between opera and oratorio is that they both have librettos and recitatives that

Purposely difficult and intentionally obsessive, Plato s Phaedrus is an exceedingly difficult read that
defies all conventional logic as a piece of discourse. The text is extremely subjective, open to
interpretation and individual creativity as to what or whom the narrative is about. Written by Plato, a
close disciple of Socrates, this text is set along the Illissus river where Phaedrus and Socrates meet for
a day of speech, debate, rhetoric and okay...flirting. Phaedrus leads of the day and recites a speech by
his close friend Lysias, who Phaedrus considers to be a top speechmaker. Socrates then, after chiding

We, on our part, must prove that such madness is given by the gods for our greatest happiness; and our
proof will not be accepted by the merely clever, but will accepted by the truly wise (469).
It is my intention with this quote to show the crucial relationship between madness and the evolution
of higher thought. I argue very plainly for this correlation linking the truly wise and madness because
it demonstrates Socrates attempt to dangle an idea in front of Phaedrus, who after Socrates 1st speech
was expecting a philosophical, structured way of defining the soul and now left to wonder what
madness has to do with anything. The quote defends the claim that madness is an essential part of
Socrates attempt to persuade Phaedus (the reader) that madness is not something bad; the way Lysias
outlined it in his speech, but an obligatory element in developing a passion for something.
My discourse has shown that this is, of all inspirations, the best and of the highest origin to him who
has it or who shares in this madness, is called a lover (483).
Taken from Socrates 2nd speech, Socrates is using madness now on a different level, this time as tool
to describe inspiration to be a lover. Socrates literally cites his entire speech to explain how madness
leads to love; to passion, not just an evolution of thinking, but also a pursuit of how it manifests itself
through madness. It is the madness that I consider

MRIs are used to allows researchers to see structures in the brain (2007) A great advantage to using
MRI is it is non invasive. The less researchers harm their patients the more ethical it is which can help
with the validity. The downside is however, researchers can only use MRIs to look at activation in the
brain making its use limited. A study that can show how MRI scans care used to investigate the
relationships between biological factors and behavior is Maguire et al. (2000). The aim of this study
was to determine if well experienced taxi drivers in London would have differing hippocampus
structures compared to London bus drivers. MRI scans were used to scan the structure of their
hippocampus, and measured the amount of gray matter in their brain. Maguire noticed there was a
larger amount of gray matter found in taxi drivers. Maguire found the data could suggest that the
increase amount of gray matter in the hippocampus of taxi drivers is due to the active and repetitive
use of the spatial memory skills required to remember roads; the neurons are stronger in areas of the
brain which are used most. Maguire because of the MRI technology was able to observe the structures
of the subject s brains and find a correlation between environment and neuroplasticity which has been
known to affects behavior in terms of memory. Maguire effectively used MRI scans to investigate the
structure of the hippocampus, he could not have done this using other technologies such as an EEG or
a PET scan. With this study Maguire was able to see the biological factor of brains areas and the
hippocampus as well as the behavior of memory and spacial

His Coy Mistress Tone
Everyone need to save their time and enjoy their life when they are young. Both To His Coy Mistress
by Andrew Marvell and To the Virgins, To Make much of time by Robert Herrick both examines the
idea of carpe diem. However, the way that the two speakers elaborate their point is slightly different.
The speaker in the poem To His coy Mistress use more passive tone to let people have more thinkings
of life.
To His Coy Mistress by Marvell states the idea that if people want to fall in love with others, do not be
shy or they will regretted in the future. Reading between the lines, the speaker first expressed how
much he love his girlfriend. Time s wingèd chariot hurrying near (Marvell 22) then the speaker use
military metaphor to show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To His Coy Mistress use a rapid tone while the other poem use a relaxed tone. The speaker in To His
coy Mistress use lots of exaggerations and metaphors to examines his idea. In the first stanza, he uses
the Indian Gange s side , a hundred years , Vaster than empires (Marvell 5 7), and other words that
form a parallelism with exaggeration to explain how much he adores his girlfriend. The speaker use
those huge words in the parallelism and contradiction to create how good the time while he was falling
in love. Furthermore, the metaphors also contributes to the tone of the poem. In the second stanza,
Time s wingèd chariot hurrying near (Marvell 22) which make the passing of the time as the war
happens to show how fast the time pass and create a nervous feeling of the time passing. Nevertheless,
the speaker make his love as the vegetable My vegetable love should grow (Marvell 11) in the Deserts
of vast eternity (Marvell 24). This is a contradiction, use two opposite things emphasize that the time
can not be back and people don t know their future. So the use of parallelism, metaphor and
contradiction shown how rapid and hurry the speaker s tone is. In the comparison, the speaker state a
lighthearted tone in poem To the Virgins, To Make much of time . The pome construct a image of a
beautiful girl singing for her youth but also has worries while she was growing up. The speaker first

Primates, Humans, And Humans
Primates, unlike humans are found only in tropical or subtropical regions of the Americas, African,
and Asian continent. Primates come in different sizes and shapes. They range from Lemurs as small
as, Madame Berthes Mouse Lemur to the largest primate living known as the Eastern Gorilla.
Primates, similar to humans are species that play an important role in maintaining and influencing our
ecological system. They maintain the forest system between animals and its resources by taking on
various roles such as being herbivores, pollinators, and seed dispersers (Chapman Peres, 2001).
However, over time many species of primates have become endangered and are threatened with
extinction due to human activities such as Habitat Destruction, Hunting/Bush meat, Pet Trade, and
Diseases. It has been estimated that more than 50% of all primate species are faced with some sort of
threat (Chapman Peres, 2001). Leaving us with an increasing number of discovered and undiscovered
primate species endangered or at the brink of extinction. Primates are threatened by many different
factors but Hunting and Habitat Disturbance has become the most common threats to primate survival.
As the human population continues to grow and thrives to meet its daily needs and resource demands
(Oates, 2013). In other words, forest areas are altered for urban and economic development through
agricultural expansion, logging, mining, road expansions, water projects and cattle grazing
(Mittermeier, 1988).

09 December, 2014 Need of Meditation and Yoga in Our Education System
If you are like millions around the world, you may be frustrated with the state of the education system.
A system which leaves us in debt, grants degrees that do not guarantee jobs or happiness, earns us
only ordinary jobs that are not fulfilling; jobs where we survive instead of thrive. When I went to high
school, I spent a large amount of time studying subjects such as geography, math, history, and etc. kids
are still studying these subjects, and these are truly important, but the ... Show more content on

Think about the times we are concern about our weight and we wished we had been taught to exercise
and eat well, or times we are down and we wished to learn meditate to better control our emotions.
These are the real world problems that can really hold us back in life, and directly influence our
happiness and I thinks it is about the time to make these skills more accessible to everyone. The point
is, if someone wants to get good at math, then he studies math, or if he wants to get good at science,
he studies science and the same thing applies here. If you want to get good at relationships, you study
relationships, or if you want to get successful, then you need to study success. School is definitely
necessary, but it is not complete. Imagine an education that included the best of the current system, but
at the same time, teaches you how to have healthier relationships, be better lovers, a better parent, live
healthier, and not just live a successful life, but a deeply meaningful and fulfilled life.
Given these points, the big gap in our educational system today is the gap between what skills people
truly need to learn to live extraordinary lives and the amount of exposure they actually get to those
skills. There is a way to fill this gap. Science has proven that our minds have inevitable power to
shape our lives and our happiness. Whether it is intentionally or unwanted, our thoughts are actually

Jumping Bean Lab Report
The Mexican Jumping Bean is indigenous to Mexico and has a peculiar life cycle. The process begins
when a moth (Cydia deshaisiana) lays its egg inside a plant (Sebastiania pavoniana) then the egg
incorporates itself with the seed of the flower. When the larvae hatches it eats its way to the inside of
the flower. It lives their until the spring rains come which separates the seed into 3 pieces (Each of
those pieces harden and turn into a brownish color.) and one of those pieces is where the larvae is.
This means that the larvae is trapped inside the bean. From then on the bean becomes part of the
larvae and until the larva turns into a moth it is part of it. Finally after some time the bean will spin a
silk cocoon and then go dormant for a few days. Afterwards it will reemerge as a moth. It will then
live for some days before it dies after it becomes a moth. During its lifetime as a bean it jumps or
moves a little bit every so often. We wanted to discover how temperature would affect the number of
times it jumped so we decided to test our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of them would be how many times a bean jumped in a stable environment within the span of two
minutes. The second would be to see how many times the bean would jump in a colder environment.
We kept the jumping bean in a stable environment inside a petri dish for two mins and observed that it
had jumped 3 times. We conducted this same experiment 5 times and saw similar results. We then put
the petri dish inside a cup of ice which lowered the temperature drastically. We conducted this
experiment 5 times and had the same result every time the Jumping Bean did not jump at all. We
graphed both tests on a graph to better compare the differences. As we analyzed the results of our
experimentation we discovered that when the temperature was dropped the bean stopped jumping and
seemed to go dormant which proved that our predictions were correct after examining the

The Success Of The Database And Data Warehouse
The success of the database and data warehouse (DW) project really depends on the quality of data. If
data quality is not good enough, the information will logically be unreliable when the business users
retrieve it from the database/DW environment. Good quality of data will be useful for the decision
maker to make the right decision, gain more trust and make the organization more efficient. In
contrast, the bad quality of data will drive the decision maker to make a wrong decision. Debbarma,
Nath and Das (2013) stated that good quality of data will enable DW environment to provide right
information in the right place at the right time with the right cost in order to support the right decision
. Thus, data quality needs to be maintained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most prominent issue that always occurs is duplicated records the records that represent the same
real world object in numerous ways (Christie, Timothy, 2005). Such duplicates could cause many
significant problems. Therefore, data cleaning strategy is essential to ensure these redundancies.
However, duplicate elimination is one of challenge tasks because it is caused by many different types
of errors such as typographical errors, null values, abbreviations, word transformation and different
representations of the same word. To detect and eliminate data duplication, there are many algorithms
that have been proposed by researchers and scholars. Those algorithms include standard duplication
elimination algorithm (SDE), adaptive duplication detection algorithm (ADD), sorted neighborhood
algorithm (SNA), duplicate elimination sorted neighborhood algorithm (DE SNA), etc. Most of the
algorithms use the following techniques in different ways to achieve a duplicate detection and
elimination goal: Character based similarity measure techniques. Phonetic similarity measure
techniques Numeric similarity measure techniques Semantic similarity measure techniques To
measure the similarity between characters, numbers and semantic words, the above techniques use
standard string similarity functions such as edit distance, generalized edit distance, hamming distant,
cosine metric, and Jaccard coefficient function, etc. There are many approaches

In the united states, starting a corporation is not too hard, but it has some steps to it. A Corporation is a legal separate and distinct entity from its owner. A corporation is created (incorporated) by a group of shareholders who have ownership of the corporation, represented by their holding of common stock. Shareholders elect a board of directors (generally receiving one vote per share) who appoint and oversee management of the corporation. Although a corporation does not necessarily have to be for profit, the vast majority of corporations are setup with the goal of providing a return for its shareholders. When you purchase stock you are becoming part owner in a corporation. (Investopedia.com) A corporation the USA must be formed in compliance with corporate law, which is a state law. Most corporations incorporate where their principal place of business is located, but not all do, for example, Delaware chancery(A court with jurisdiction to decide cases based on equity as well as law) has a reputation for fairly and quickly applying a very well developed body of corporate law in the state of Delaware, that s why lots of companies chose to corporate in the state of Delaware even though they have no business presence there. • 4. The Causes And Consequences Of The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was a huge turning point in history at which the development of industry began in England in the 18th century. It introduced machinery to the world. The industrial revolution was characterized by hand production to new machine manufacturing, the increased use of steam power, the rise of the factory system and development of machine tools. As time passed by, the technological innovations continued to shape the modern world, Everything that everybody uses throughout their daily lives is due to manufacturing. How would people ever have been able to put a man on the moon or get to travel from New York to Paris without the things that came from the Industrial Revolution? Of course, the consequences of the industrial revolution were brutal, but for the most part there were solutions to those consequences, that changed the world for the greater good. The benefits of the industrial revolution outweigh the costs because it led to the creation of unions, and the technological innovations from the industrial revolution helped change the lifestyle of many people. Some will say that the benefits of the industrial revolution do not outweigh the cost because child labor was terrible, and many workers were working in horrible condition at low wages for long hours. When the industrial revolution began, the rise of the factory system was high. But there were no rules of how a factory should be run, considering it was a capitalist economy. In a capitalist ... • 5. Pmf Job Fair Essay After attending the PMF Job fair on Monday, I ve learned more information about the process that I thought would be helpful to pass along. The purpose of the Presidential Management Fellowship is to recruit candidates for jobs that are traditionally harder to fill and provide them with the training needed to become a leader in that role. Although the agency would have to pay a $7,000 fee and also fund 160 hours of training within the 2 years of the fellowship, this is an opportunity for the agency to recruit qualified staff at a fraction of the cost. Regular positions are often converted into PMF positions to fill agencies needs by the designated Human resources Manger. For example, you are trying to fill the position we discussed at the GS 12/13 level but it may be difficult to recruit someone who is highly qualified. You could hire a PMF with experience like mine at a GS 9/11 level and train them for the position. At the end of the first year of this two year fellowship, if I receive favorable scores on my performance review, I move up to a GS 11/12. At the end of the fellowship, if I continue to do well on evaluations I advance to a GS 12/13. Usually, PMF s are converted to permeant or term positions however this up to the discretion of the agency. As a PMF, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Often, software failures can lead to disastrous consequences such as loss of data, fortune and lives. Test engineers have generated a set of test cases to validate against the user requirements. The highest number of reduction can save a cost of testing. When dealing with a large line of code (LOCs) there still has redundancy happened. Our experiment studies about hybrid tReduct GNA_SA and the existing strategies to counter test redundancy reduction issues. In our experiment, we apply four (tReductLAHC, tReductSA, tReductGNA and tReduct GNA_SA) test suite reduction strategies for six different situation. After that, we then measure the effectiveness of the diversified solutions of four test suite reduction strategies. Our experiment shows that a new hybrid strategy tReduct GNA_SA offers more effectiveness to reduce redundancy compared to existing work. Keywords: Test suite redundancy reduction. Malcom X And The Civil Rights Movement Fahad Algarni Ms. Kristi Brock ENG 101 College Writing (WC) 15 July 2015 Analysis of Ballot or Bullet On 3rd April 1964, Malcom X addressed the Negro community assembled in Cleveland over the controversial issue of the civil rights movement. The Ballot or the Bullet speech of Malcom X can be considered as a direct response to I have a Dream speech of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Malcom X and Dr. Martin were taking a stand for the true freedom of the same community but with a diagonally opposite philosophies. Dr. Martin chose a non violent approach inspired from an Indian freedom fighter Gandhi, whereas Malcom X s approach was radical and violent. The aim of Malcom s speech was to invoke a need for action amongst the African American community while at the same time generating a fear of civil war amongst the Whites. Ballot or Bullet can be considered as one of the most influential speeches that America has ever witnessed. It can be noticed that there has been an extensive use of rhetorical appeals such as emotional appeal (pathos) and cold grave logic (logos). Also the credibility (ethos) of the author is built because of the reference that were strategically used in the speech to relate to the people present to listen to the speech in person. The effectiveness of the protest was due to the movement causing the American public to challenge their belief in the nation s leaders capacity to provide unquestionable truths and due to the protest placing a colossal amount of powerful pressure on the nation s leaders.(Zimmerman) Many historians believe the success of the protest led to a change in policy and a change in the American public s view of politicians.(Zimmerman) The Antiwar Protest began in the late 1950s and early 1960s.(Zimmerman) The protest effort was centered around two groups: peace groups formed by left wing activists that opposed the Cold War and America s interference in other countries and a group of students that felt the government was high handed and unjust, Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). (Zimmerman) These groups had a mission to educate the public about Vietnam and convert large amounts of Americans around to their antiwar agenda.(Zimmerman) Early on, the groups formulated a plan to bring about the change they sought by using the press, literature, music, and the public domain.(Zimmerman) The Antiwar Protest used three rhetorical strategies: empathy, shock value, and symbolic actions.(Trodd) Of the three strategies, the movement relied most heavily on shock value. Like all budgets, the flexible budget establishes line items for expenses and revenue for a given period with a value assigned to each line. Listening to his friends, Hiro does not kill Callaghan and it turns out to be a great decision that he made. This theme in this movie is relevant today because many people often feel the need to seek revenge if something bad was inflicted upon them. For example, when my brother punched me in the stomach randomly just to inflict harm on me, I felt the natural want to punch him back for what he has done. In hindsight, it is not good to seek revenge because it just made the situation worse, both sides wounded after the brawl. While many may believe that seeking revenge is the way to settle disputes, in many cases, people tend to end up getting hurt like I did myself. Another moral in the story is friends and family help each other. After the event that happened to his brother, his family and friends helped comfort him. • 25. Different Models And Theories Associated With Adult Learning There is several different models and theories associated with adult learning. Through my research it seems that andragogy is the first thing educators think of when adult learning process is mentioned. Malcolm Knowles says, Andragogy is the art and science of helping others learn (Merriam, Caffarella, Baumgartner, 2007). Andragogy are learning strategies focused on adults. It is often interpreted as the process of engaging adult learners with the structure of the learning experience (Clardy, 2005). Andragogy is an assumption that there are different characteristics and requirements when it comes to learning between adults and children. Therefore, the learning procedures used in teaching adults must be altered from the pedagogical procedures related to teaching children. Andragogy is based on five assumptions concerning the adult learner (ASTD, 2007). First is the assumption that as a person matures, their self concept moves from a dependent personality towards more of a self directing personality. (Merriam et al., 2007). At this point the learner is considered self directed. The second assumption is that an adult accumulates a growing reservoir of experience, which is a rich resource for learning (Merriam et al., 2007). Basically, adults can utilize their experiences to influence themselves and others. Third, the readiness for an adult to learn is in close relation to the developmental tasks of the adult s social role. (Clardy, 2005). This readiness to learn is a direct ... This paper will explore the different leadership styles with reference to my own personal leadership style. It will give reasons why a participative style works best in the healthcare profession. Leadership Styles There are four types of leadership styles that describe the amount of interaction a leader has to its members. The leadership styles include autocratic, consultative and participative and free rein leaders (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Autocratic is a leadership style that has the leader as the dictator giving direction to members to follow. The group members are expected to follow the orders without inquiry and focus on task completion. This style leaves little room for individual development among its members however, can be effective in situations that demands strong leadership such as in crisis situations. Consultative leadership style involves having the leader spend a decent amount of time conferring with other members on ways to tackle the situation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second phase of the Atkins diet is Ongoing Weight Loss where you slowly increase the amount of carbohydrates in your diet. Essentially you add 5 grams of carbs to your diet every week until you reach a point where you aren t gaining or losing weight (Atkins, 2002). The third phase of the diet is Pre Maintenance in which carbohydrate intake is slightly increased again. However, this time the increase is significant enough that the body is no longer in a state of ketosis. The key here is to find a maximum level of carbohydrates you can consume without gaining weight (Atkins, 2002). Lifetime Maintenance is the final phase of the Atkins diet. In this phase you are expected to carry out the habits acquired from the previous phases. If you find yourself gaining weight again then you can revert back to one of the previous phases. This is a permanent lifestyle you need to adapt in order to carry on with the progress you made so far (Atkins, 2002). The main reason we are limiting carbohydrates in the first place is to control the release of insulin by the pancreas. Carbohydrates are responsible for raising insulin levels, which in turn promotes glucose uptake by the cells. On the other hand, insulin initiates a pathway that inhibits fat breakdown and at the same time promotes synthesis of fatty acid, cholesterol, and glycogen. Therefore, elevated levels of insulin are associated with cardiovascular disease. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. The Process of Photosynthesis and Practicals Introduction One of the most important bological processes on earth is photosynthesis. Plants that comprise the majority of the food we consume need photosynthesis in order to produce life sustaining energy. This energy is harnessed by the sun. If it were not for photosynthesis to capture and use this vital energy, life itself would be minimal or almost non existent. Photosynthesis entails a process that involves complex and fundamental actions that occur in plants, algae as well as some bacteria. They use sunlight to produce carbohydrates. Oxygen is then created from carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (Jackson, 2008). The carbohydrates created through photosynthesis enables growth and normal functioning for the plant to sustain life. Here is an example of a formulation of photosynthesis by Campbell et al. Light 6CO2 + 6H20 6 (CH2O) + 6O2 Chlorophyll (Campbell et al. 2009) Chloroplasts are the main place for photosynthesis to occur in plants occurs. Brain Imaging Discussing the Use of Brain Imaging Technologies In Investigating the Relationships Between Biological Factors and Behavior This essay will attempt to offer a balanced review of the use of brain imaging technologies in investigating the relationships between biological factors and behavior. The different types of brain imaging technologies are PET: Positron Emission Topography, MRI: Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fMRI: functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EEG: Electroencephalogram, and lastly CAT: Computerized Axial Tomography (Demitri, 2007). Brain imaging technologies are methods used in psychology to examine and further understand the human brain. While each of the differing methods has qualities that are beneficial in general it is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MRIs are used to allows researchers to see structures in the brain (2007) A great advantage to using MRI is it is non invasive. The less researchers harm their patients the more ethical it is which can help with the validity. The downside is however, researchers can only use MRIs to look at activation in the brain making its use limited. A study that can show how MRI scans care used to investigate the relationships between biological factors and behavior is Maguire et al. (2000). The aim of this study was to determine if well experienced taxi drivers in London would have differing hippocampus structures compared to London bus drivers. MRI scans were used to scan the structure of their hippocampus, and measured the amount of gray matter in their brain. Maguire noticed there was a larger amount of gray matter found in taxi drivers. Maguire found the data could suggest that the increase amount of gray matter in the hippocampus of taxi drivers is due to the active and repetitive use of the spatial memory skills required to remember roads; the neurons are stronger in areas of the brain which are used most. Maguire because of the MRI technology was able to observe the structures of the subject s brains and find a correlation between environment and neuroplasticity which has been known to affects behavior in terms of memory. Maguire effectively used MRI scans to investigate the structure of the hippocampus, he could not have done this using other technologies such as an EEG or a PET scan. With this study Maguire was able to see the biological factor of brains areas and the hippocampus as well as the behavior of memory and spacial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. His Coy Mistress Tone Everyone need to save their time and enjoy their life when they are young. Both To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell and To the Virgins, To Make much of time by Robert Herrick both examines the idea of carpe diem. However, the way that the two speakers elaborate their point is slightly different. The speaker in the poem To His coy Mistress use more passive tone to let people have more thinkings of life. To His Coy Mistress by Marvell states the idea that if people want to fall in love with others, do not be shy or they will regretted in the future. Reading between the lines, the speaker first expressed how much he love his girlfriend. Time s wingèd chariot hurrying near (Marvell 22) then the speaker use military metaphor to show ... The speaker in To His coy Mistress use lots of exaggerations and metaphors to examines his idea. In the first stanza, he uses the Indian Gange s side , a hundred years , Vaster than empires (Marvell 5 7), and other words that form a parallelism with exaggeration to explain how much he adores his girlfriend. The speaker use those huge words in the parallelism and contradiction to create how good the time while he was falling in love. Furthermore, the metaphors also contributes to the tone of the poem. In the second stanza, Time s wingèd chariot hurrying near (Marvell 22) which make the passing of the time as the war happens to show how fast the time pass and create a nervous feeling of the time passing. Nevertheless, the speaker make his love as the vegetable My vegetable love should grow (Marvell 11) in the Deserts of vast eternity (Marvell 24). This is a contradiction, use two opposite things emphasize that the time can not be back and people don t know their future. So the use of parallelism, metaphor and contradiction shown how rapid and hurry the speaker s tone is. In the comparison, the speaker state a lighthearted tone in poem To the Virgins, To Make much of time . The pome construct a image of a beautiful girl singing for her youth but also has worries while she was growing up. The speaker first use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Primates come in different sizes and shapes. They range from Lemurs as small as, Madame Berthes Mouse Lemur to the largest primate living known as the Eastern Gorilla. Primates, similar to humans are species that play an important role in maintaining and influencing our ecological system. They maintain the forest system between animals and its resources by taking on various roles such as being herbivores, pollinators, and seed dispersers (Chapman Peres, 2001). However, over time many species of primates have become endangered and are threatened with extinction due to human activities such as Habitat Destruction, Hunting/Bush meat, Pet Trade, and Diseases. It has been estimated that more than 50% of all primate species are faced with some sort of threat (Chapman Peres, 2001). Leaving us with an increasing number of discovered and undiscovered primate species endangered or at the brink of extinction. Primates are threatened by many different factors but Hunting and Habitat Disturbance has become the most common threats to primate survival. As the human population continues to grow and thrives to meet its daily needs and resource demands (Oates, 2013). In other words, forest areas are altered for urban and economic development through agricultural expansion, logging, mining, road expansions, water projects and cattle grazing (Mittermeier, 1988). ... The Need For Mindfulness Practices The Need for Mindfulness Practices in Our Education System Sharereh Vakili Dastjerd Dr. Weldon PSYC 101 December 09, 2014 Sharereh Vakili Dastjerd Dr. Weldon PSYC 101 09 December, 2014 Need of Meditation and Yoga in Our Education System If you are like millions around the world, you may be frustrated with the state of the education system. A system which leaves us in debt, grants degrees that do not guarantee jobs or happiness, earns us only ordinary jobs that are not fulfilling; jobs where we survive instead of thrive. When I went to high school, I spent a large amount of time studying subjects such as geography, math, history, and etc. kids are still studying these subjects, and these are truly important, but the ... Think about the times we are concern about our weight and we wished we had been taught to exercise and eat well, or times we are down and we wished to learn meditate to better control our emotions. These are the real world problems that can really hold us back in life, and directly influence our happiness and I thinks it is about the time to make these skills more accessible to everyone. The point is, if someone wants to get good at math, then he studies math, or if he wants to get good at science, he studies science and the same thing applies here. If you want to get good at relationships, you study relationships, or if you want to get successful, then you need to study success. School is definitely necessary, but it is not complete. Imagine an education that included the best of the current system, but at the same time, teaches you how to have healthier relationships, be better lovers, a better parent, live healthier, and not just live a successful life, but a deeply meaningful and fulfilled life. Given these points, the big gap in our educational system today is the gap between what skills people truly need to learn to live extraordinary lives and the amount of exposure they actually get to those skills. There is a way to fill this gap. Science has proven that our minds have inevitable power to shape our lives and our happiness. • 45. Jumping Bean Lab Report The Mexican Jumping Bean is indigenous to Mexico and has a peculiar life cycle. The process begins when a moth (Cydia deshaisiana) lays its egg inside a plant (Sebastiania pavoniana) then the egg incorporates itself with the seed of the flower. When the larvae hatches it eats its way to the inside of the flower. It lives their until the spring rains come which separates the seed into 3 pieces (Each of those pieces harden and turn into a brownish color.) and one of those pieces is where the larvae is. This means that the larvae is trapped inside the bean. From then on the bean becomes part of the larvae and until the larva turns into a moth it is part of it. Finally after some time the bean will spin a silk cocoon and then go dormant for a few days. Afterwards it will reemerge as a moth. It will then live for some days before it dies after it becomes a moth. During its lifetime as a bean it jumps or moves a little bit every so often. One of them would be how many times a bean jumped in a stable environment within the span of two minutes. The second would be to see how many times the bean would jump in a colder environment. We kept the jumping bean in a stable environment inside a petri dish for two mins and observed that it had jumped 3 times. We conducted this same experiment 5 times and saw similar results. We then put the petri dish inside a cup of ice which lowered the temperature drastically. We conducted this experiment 5 times and had the same result every time the Jumping Bean did not jump at all. We graphed both tests on a graph to better compare the differences. As we analyzed the results of our experimentation we discovered that when the temperature was dropped the bean stopped jumping and seemed to go dormant which proved that our predictions were correct after examining the ... • 46. The Success Of The Database And Data Warehouse The success of the database and data warehouse (DW) project really depends on the quality of data. If data quality is not good enough, the information will logically be unreliable when the business users retrieve it from the database/DW environment. Good quality of data will be useful for the decision maker to make the right decision, gain more trust and make the organization more efficient. In contrast, the bad quality of data will drive the decision maker to make a wrong decision. Debbarma, Nath and Das (2013) stated that good quality of data will enable DW environment to provide right information in the right place at the right time with the right cost in order to support the right decision . Thus, data quality needs to be maintained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most prominent issue that always occurs is duplicated records the records that represent the same real world object in numerous ways (Christie, Timothy, 2005). Such duplicates could cause many significant problems. Therefore, data cleaning strategy is essential to ensure these redundancies. However, duplicate elimination is one of challenge tasks because it is caused by many different types of errors such as typographical errors, null values, abbreviations, word transformation and different representations of the same word. To detect and eliminate data duplication, there are many algorithms that have been proposed by researchers and scholars. Those algorithms include standard duplication elimination algorithm (SDE), adaptive duplication detection algorithm (ADD), sorted neighborhood algorithm (SNA), duplicate elimination sorted neighborhood algorithm (DE SNA), etc. Most of the algorithms use the following techniques in different ways to achieve a duplicate detection and elimination goal: Character based similarity measure techniques. Phonetic similarity measure techniques Numeric similarity measure techniques Semantic similarity measure techniques To measure the similarity between characters, numbers and semantic words, the above techniques use standard string similarity functions such as edit distance, generalized edit distance, hamming distant, cosine metric, and Jaccard coefficient function, etc. There are many approaches ...
