Olanzapine
The adverse effects of drug drug interactions in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder can
be severe and depends mainly on the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug. Both the distances
between drug targets and the comparison of target neighbors are important when when administering
olanzapine in combination with other drugs due to its effects on the CNS. To avoid severe adverse
effects such as sedation, orthostatic hypotension, tachycardia or transaminase the prescribing drugs in
combination such as olanzapine with fluvoxamine or diazepam should be therapeutically monitored
while drugs such as sertraline will not cause adverse effects. (Spina, E., de Leon, J., (2007)). To

Olanzapine is associated with adverse effects when taken above the safe therapeutic range between 20
to 40 ng/ml, symptoms of toxicity include depression, tachycardia and hyperpryexia,, the effects of
these symptoms are normally more severe in children.. Olanzapine is considered to have a low
mortality rate although serious cases of olanzapine toxicity can lead to possible death. In postmortem
examinations olanzapine is not normally the main cause of death, but is a contributing factor therefore
the involvement of other drugs need to be considered. Early detection of toxicity is vital although
activated charcoal has previously been beneficial in the treatment for an overdose of olanzapine
(Chue, P., Singer, P., (2003)). The use of Olanzapine is contraindicated in patients with diseases such
as dementia or diabetes mellitus. Caution should also be taken when administering olanzapine to
patients with cardiac defects, liver problems and patients with a history of seizures. If allergic to any
of the ingredients within the drug or if the individual is pregnant it should also not be administered.
The dosage of the drug may need to be altered if the individual smokes and the consumption of
alcohol is not also not advised when taking the drug (Keefe, R. S., et al (2014), (Heres, S., et al

Bine Drinking Vs Binge Drinking
America perfectly represents the ideals of the Enlightenment: the land of the free and the home of the
brave; a nation in which citizens can choose who they want to be and what they want to do.
Throughout the Revolutionary War, the colonists relied on each other for support and no one could
afford the luxury of a peaceful, secluded life. That emphasis on sociability became a part of the
American identity. Lung cancer has declined steadily over the last thirty years (Cancer Statistics
Report), but liver cancer incidents have tripled over that time period as Americans are binge drinking
now more than ever (Key Statistics About Liver Cancer). While, at times, smoking can be social and
drinking can be anti social, America s emphasis on gregariousness causes society to hypocritically
scorn smoking but tolerate binge drinking because smoking is an anti social activity whereas binge
drinking is a social activity. Advertisement posters against smoking and binge drinking differ because
of the USA s cultural values, particularly due to the solidarity of smoking versus the camaraderie of
drinking. Although binge drinking is typically considered four drinks for women and five drinks for
men in a two hour span, this fails to account for someone s height, weight, and food consumed, and
therefore many people have no idea if they are binge drinking or not, causing some to black out
(Drinking Levels Defined). A photo of a passed out teenage girl with embarrassing sayings written in

Bo Jackson Myths
The Myth of Bo Many people think the stories of Bo Jackson are just a myth. Bo Jackson was an
absolutely amazing athlete during high school, college, and the pros. He did many things for baseball
and football inside and outside of the game. With Bo Jackson completely smashing records in high
school and being an amazing hall of fame athlete in both the NFL and MLB he set the tone for many
athletes to want to live up to the legacy of Bo Jackson. It wasn t all easy for him though with
hardships through school and childhood.
The childhood of Bo Jackson wasn t all great. His father walked out on him and his family when he
was young. We never had enough food. But at least I could beat on other kids and steal their lunch

So in the 1987 draft the raiders chose him with their seventh round pick. The owner of the raiders
seemed to take a liking in Jackson s baseball career so he offered him a contract that would allow him
to pursue baseball but also have to work part time in football after each MLB season. During the 1990
NFL season he rushed for 698 yards in 10 games and earned himself a Pro Bowl selection. But an
injury also came with all of those accomplishments as he suffered a hip injury that the treatment
couldn t help. That spring the Royals released him and he was later acquired the the White Sox. He
was able to play 23 games before his hip had deteriorated so much that he had to have it replaced.
Bo Jackson s career ended prematurely with the MLB players strike. After his Bo Knows campaign

This led to revolutions in the eastern bloc countries throughout 1989, which in turn led to the collapse

My Life Of My Grandma
Ever since I was small I had been close to my Grandma. Although she lived far away in
Mexico, we always went to go visit her during the summer. She was always sick and had a horrible
cough. She kept going to many doctors and kept talking the medicine the gaved her. We thought it was
just a cold and it was going to go away with time but it didn t. It was during our next summer visit that
we noticed that her cough hadn t gone away that we decided to take her to a specialized doctor in the
City of Mexico. What we were told after a the check up was shocking.
My beloved Grandma had cancer in her left lung and was spreading.
I glanced at my dad and saw pain in his eyes, he was devastated. I went over to hug him and
murmured, Todo va a estar bien mi abuelita es fuerte. everything is going to be fine my grandma is
strong. That night I tried getting some sleep but I couldn t. The thought of losing my grandma made
me want to cry. I heard my mom comfort my dad from the other room. Trata de dormir mañana
hablaremos sobre esto, try getting some sleep tomorrow we ll talk. It was about
1:00 a.m that my eyes finally closed. In the morning I woke up got ready and saw that a few of my
uncles had come over, to discuss my Grandma s sickness. I could hear them say Le diremos? should

Tv Vs Disney
By 1945, WWII had ended and America had entered a post war era. The film industry saw huge
revenue with its wartime themed films in support of America, but television was soon in every home
in across the United States. Americans were tired after a long day at work, and found comfort in
watching TV in their own homes. The development of suburbia drew many people away from the
hustle and bustle of the cities in search of a quieter lifestyle. This move to the suburbs took the studios
audience away and the availability of TV soon began to replace going to the movies. Coupled with the
Paramount Decision of 1948, the studio system was no longer in effect for the studio executives and
they found themselves at a crossroads of needing reinvention ... Show more content on

Drugs and music were outlets that caused major societal changes in personal views. America was
racially integrating and society was moving towards a more racially diverse community. Studios
turned to younger filmmakers to capture the vibe of a changing America. These visionaries made
movies that spoke to the minds of everyday American youth. Pornography also made its way to the
big screen in the wake of the sexual revolution. Deep Throat was released in 1972 and remained high
in the rankings for 48 weeks. Television, the MPAA film rating system, and the societal changes in
America had a drastic effect on the film industry. Box office sales plummeted and audiences shied
away from the big screen for the comfort of their own homes to watch TV. The film industry
responded with a change in the rating system to allow more mature minded, culturally relevant, and
more risqué films to be produced. Technological advances that greatly enhanced the movie experience
also helped bring people back to the theater. These changes proved to revitalize America s interest in

Safe Driving Age
I agree that the legal Safe Driving age should be at age 18, this is a point in your life where you are
growing to become a mature person, it is a time were you can work and you are considered to be
independent. At age 18 you have the consciousness that all laws apply to you, so you are aware that all
actions have a reaction. As the video in the link stated the number one killer of all teens is a car crash,
it is also the first cause of death in the United States; teens are 30 times as likely to be in a crash. Also
the economic cost of teen crashes is of 27 billion dollars to the nation (National Safety Council). In
my opinion in order to reduce all death factors for minors is to give them the license for driving at age

Good Plumber Research Paper
Finding a good plumber or electrician is a difficult task for home owners.
One, plumbers and electricians possess, or pretend to possess, a skill most of us lack. After all, if we
knew how to fix a broken pipe or wire the unfinished bonus room we wouldn t need a good plumber
or an electrician in first place.
Our ignorance not only makes us desperate for their services it also makes us vulnerable to their
scams, cons, and thievery not to mention their plain old shoddy work. To make matters worse, it s
usually an emergency that forces us to call a plumber or an electrician. In our panic for their help, we
tend to let our guard down which makes us even more susceptible to their tricks and dirty tactics.
Furthermore, due to the nature of the business, it s hard to prosecute a bad plumber or electrician. If
you re lucky enough to find them after they ve swindled you out of your money, the plumber or
electrician can usually claim and do so well within the law that they did everything you asked them to
do; it s their word against yours. In many cases the home owner is left with no recourse while the
plumber or electrician moves onto their next victim. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Definition Essay On Slang
There are thousands of slang terms usage out there that dated way back in the day. Slang terms tend to
be out of date as time continue. Even though the terms doesn t live very long, there are people of
different generations who still use them or at least have heard of them. After analyzing the thirty terms
I have come up, I noticed that the bigger the age gap between generations, the less knowledge they
have about the current slang terms. I am twenty one year old so I chose three other people to take the
survey range from eighteen, twenty five, and forty five years old to see their knowledge about the
terms. Different age group do have different perception of the word and its meaning. For example the

For an old slang term, I wanted to see if the two people who is younger know the term Booyah or not.
I believe Booyah is an old saying of excitement and kids these days don t use that anymore, but the
people in the nineties would for sure know about it. I was surprise to see that all three people knew
what Booyah mean. For a newer one I used Photobomb and I was not as surprise to see the forty five
person knew what it mean. Since photobomb gotten popular couple of years ago, it would make this
person early forties maybe even late thirties so it would make a lot of sense for this person to know the
term. Also this term was so popular when it came out so there is no way they wouldn t know or at least
heard about it, unless it is an elder citizen that don t use a phone or technology. Overall, everyone
could defined my list of slang even if it the literal meaning or slang meaning. The twenty five and
forty five have couple of question marks where they can t defined it, but of course the older one have
lot more than the younger one. I believe that no matter if the slang is consider old and out of date it all
depend on the person if they know the term or not. Someone could be young, but doesn t like to use
popular slang and like old style would probably not know what the slang mean. I myself don t use
now a day slangs and a good amount on my list I don t even

My Favorite Hobbies
In order to be able to call something a hobby, I must enjoy doing it, and be able to do it for years. At
eighteen years old, fitting my experiences and activities into those two categories is quite difficult. My
lack of experience in life gives me a limited view, but the hobbies that I do enjoy, I take pride in. I
grew up playing outside with my brother, so we were always doing something together as kids.
Whenever my mom would take us out grocery shopping she would blare the music in the car loud and
sing to whatever was playing. Having those memories and experiences helped shape me into who I am
today. Throughout this life, I have embraced many forms of hobbies and entertainment; however,
playing sports, traveling, and listening to music are my three greatest passions.
First, my absolute favorite hobby would be playing sports. I loved playing sports as a kid, and I
especially have a strong passion for playing tennis. In the mornings I would ride my bike with my dad
and brother to the local park, and we would play for a few hours. Watching tennis on TV led me to
admiring a respectful tennis Pro in the name of Roger Federer. Watching him play against others led
me to wanting to play more. Consequently, I played tennis in High School for four years, and I took
every opportunity to study his techniques, in order to practice them. I looked up to him for his on court
grace, humility for the sport, and ability to play the game.
Another sport that I enjoyed playing and watching

How Did Alexander The Great Impact Greek Culture
The Impact of Greek culture during the Hellenistic period. The definition of Hellenistic is imitating
Greece. The Hellenistic Period is known as the Time after Alexander the great spread Greek culture to
the eastern region and blended with the native culture. The Name Alexander the great is derived from
the great amount of accomplishments and military dominance that he displayed during his life.
However, some historians describe him as more of a ruthless warlord. Those who see Alexander as
aspiring autocratic monarchy present a very different portrait of him as a ruthless Machiavellian. One
has titled his biography Alexander the Great Failure. (Spielvogel 94) Alexander s Father was king
Phillip II who ruled Macedonia and after being a prisoner in Thebes developed an understanding and
admiration for Greek military and tactics. Once he was able to return to Macedonia he quickly
developed a standing army from the strongest men his country had to offer. It was with this powerful
army that he was able to conquer Greece and take control of the entire Greek peninsula. Once
Alexander was 20 his father was assassinated and he had to quickly take power and establish, he did
this by conquering the city of Thebes where a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Approaches Of The Classical And Human Relations...
There are hundreds of thousands of different approaches within the Classical and Human Relations
environment and management field. Many of these approaches are similar and compatible in nature,
and as well have various looks that show their differences and incompatibilities. Let s explore how
these organizations use systems and theories in their everyday work life and discover the
incompatibilities between each of the approaches.
Classic Management and its Structure
The definition of Classical management states that it is a result of the early attempts to formalize
principles for a growing number of professional managers (Jeliniek, 2005) . Mariann Jeliniek, Henri
Fayol, and Frederick Winslow Taylor are all seen as the forefathers of classical management (Parker
and Ritson, 2005). Classical theory sought rationality and order in the workplace, and worked through
what they had called the one best way, which is what they had thought was the most logical division
of labor, appropriate structure to relate the activities, the correct amount of control for directing
activities, and as well the proper allocation of responsibility designated to a proper authority. These
three classical theorists asserted their insights and became universally applicable to all organizations.
To help ensure there was efficiency in the workplace there had to be specialized labor, proper direction
and coordination, and effective planning in an organization.

The Hofstede Model Of Cultural Differences
Communication is one of the most important aspects of our lives. It is a process that ties us together
and helps us to get most of our work done. Communication plays a big role in transmitting cultural
values from one generation to the next. Communication can be categorized as two; verbal and non
verbal. In a multiracial country such as Malaysia good communication can be considered as a savior to
keep everyone united. Being a multiracial country, it shows the existence of cultural diversity in
Malaysia. Cultural diversity often leads to society s biggest challenge.

Malay is the largest ethnic group in Malaysia and Malay language is their mother tongue. Malay
language is Malaysia s official language.
Before we go deeper into the communication aspect, let us analyse the general cultural values from
these two major ethnic in Malaysia. The Hofstede Model of Cultural Dimensions can be a great use
when it comes to analyzing cultures. Hofstede basically treats all Malaysian cultures equally.
However, as based on the Hofstede Model of Cultural Dimensions, to compare both the Malaysian
Malay and Indian cultures, both of these cultures actually falls under the high context culture. High
context communication involves emotions and close relationships while low context interactions use
the logical part of the brain and are less personal. However, this does not mean these two cultures are
equally the same with one another as there are similarities and differences between these two cultures.
As there are many aspects of cultures that can be studied and described about the two cultures, only
few major aspects of cultural values will be discussed in this paper. One of the major cultural values
that can be compared between the two cultures is the Malays rank honesty as first on their list of
cultural values whereas the Indians find family as the important aspect in their cultural values.
In terms of marriage and weddings, there is a pure mix of cultures within the Hindu and the Malay

Diet And Exercise Of Living A Healthy Life
Jessica Gourneau
Professor Vanderlinde
English 101
8 November 2015
Diet and Exercise Many people struggle with living a healthy life or struggle to know what exactly a
healthy life means. Having good diet and exercise habits are an important part of living a healthy life.
Just because someone may look fit and healthy, does not mean they are healthy. In fact, they could be
just as unhealthy as an obsess person. This is also the same for someone who may not look like they
are healthy. Even if they are overweight, they can still have a clean diet and a healthy heart. The only
true way to determine if someone is living a healthy life and eating properly along with getting the
right amount of exercise is by taking a closer look at their activity level and diet. The foundation to
staying healthy is having a good meal plan. There are many different factors to consider when
customizing a meal plan for someone. Their age, existing health issues, and the amount of activity are
some of the main factors. For example, a younger person who is physical active will not have to limit
their diet as much as someone who is older and is not physical active. The average person should aim
for 6 11 servings of grains, 3 5 of fruits and vegetables, 2 3 of dairy and meat, and also limit the
amount of sugar and fats. This is a good base for someone to start off with until a meal plan can be
written specifically for them. Even though diet is the most important part of living a healthy

Carborundum Case Solution
Part A (i) Issue: Are members liable for Carborundum s debts when winding up? Rule Application:
Since Carborundum is limited by shares and member s liability is amount unpaid on share held, Alan,
Ben and Colin who fully paid up their shares owed no liability, while others had to pay unpaid
$0.9/shares. As stated in Salomon , debt is therefore the company s responsibility, and the corporate
veil protects shareholders in their personal capacity from any liability. Conclusion: Alan, Ben and
Colin owed no liability, Eric Sanders owed $3600 (4000*0.9), Donald Thump owed
$10800(12000*0.9), and Inventions owed $19800 (22000*0.9) (ii) Issue: How can company remove

can fire Hilary. If there is a separate employment contract between Hilary and Carborundum,
Carborundum would breach the contract and pay for damages. Conclusion: Shareholders may vote to
remove clause 5 considering 5 out of 6 shareholders agree the removal. Part B (i) Issue: Is it possible
not to pass deletion of Clause 3 in GM by Inventions? Rule Application: In order to remove Clause 3,
a special resolution must be passed. (s136 (2)). Therefore, on the GM, it only requires one of Alan,

Donald s concern is unnecessary because according to s 125, the statement of company s objects is

elephants. Luckily, there are many ways you can help to stop them from going extinct, including
donating to places like the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, encouraging selective logging, shutting
down ivory markets, donating and shunning places that advertise the chance to see a baby elephant.
The main problem causing Asian elephants to be endangered is habitat loss. People have been cutting
down the tropical forests where the elephants used to live and are building houses in the valleys and
plains. In fact, about 20% of all humans live close to the current habitat of the Asian elephant. The
elephants move to the hills and the remains of the forests, but even then they are still at risk. Because
the elephants are forced into smaller areas, inbreeding may occur. The elephants are unable to mix
with other herds, which causes their genetic material to be too closely related to that of other elephants
in their herd. The migrations of the elephants have also been disrupted by habitat loss. Dams, coffee
and tea plantations, railway lines, and roads break up the routes the elephants once used on their
seasonal migration. Selective logging is one solution to habitat loss. Selective logging

Essay On Shooting In Las Engasan
In an exclusive conversation with CNN in Pyongyang North Korea, Ri Yong Pil, a senior North
Korean official stated that North Korea has always brought its words into action and that people
should take his country s threat to test a nuclear weapon above ground literally . He also raised the
possibility that North Korea could test a powerful hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean. In
September, North Korea has carried out the strongest of its six nuclear tests, claiming that they used a
hydrogen bomb which is far more powerful than an atomic bomb. North Korea also stated that the
hydrogen bomb could fit into a ballistic missile which Pyongyang flew over Japan in September. Also,

Another interesting event that occurred, was Stephen s 59 year old brother Bruce Paddock being
arrested yesterday. He was arrested with child pornography charges for more than 600 images of child
pornography and 19 counts of sexual exploitations of a child. He is now being held at 60,000 dollars
for bail. This brought even more talk about the Paddock family and raised even more questions about
the Las Vegas shooting. In class, we have been discussing presidential elections in the past. We know
that before, the second runner up in the presidency would be the vice president, but now, that is not
how elections work. Yesterday in class, we watched John Adams sadly give the spot of the President
to George Washington. John Adams wanted to win the presidential very badly, just like how Trump
wanted to win against Hillary. The article that I read, talks about WikiLeaks, a website with many
leaked government files and documents. Yesterday, the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, stated
that he rejected a request from the head of a data firm that worked for Donald Trump. He said that he
was approached in 2016 by Alexander Nix, the chief executive of Cambridge Analytica which worked
for Trump during the final months of the campaign. No one is completely sure what the request was
but many suspect that Alexander Nix was looking for the copies of more than 30,000 emails that were

The Rational Way Of Life
The Rational Way of Life
Epictetus Stoic Recommendation of Freedom
Freedom is an arbitrary concept that has been and will always be limited. The notion of freedom is
possible among equals, however, equality itself is universally different. Arendt, a political theorist,
believes political freedom manifests through action, her reliance on the ability to act implies that
humans can tangibly live freely. Epictetus on the other hand, believes that all humans can be internally
free if they had a stoic mindset in their way of life. He believes that human beings are in complete
control of their happiness and should only worry about what they can control instead of what they
cannot. The revolutionary treasure is the original spirit of individual freedom that has been lost
through the principles of public freedom and public happiness. Freedom as Epictetus defines is an
internal condition that only we ourselves possess control over, his stoic recommendation offers a
simple yet rational approach of living life freely.
Public opinion suffocates the original spirit of the revolutionary treasure because public opinion
provokes a common opposition, thus killing true personal opinions of American citizens. Arendt states
that the Founding Fathers of America equated law based on public opinion with tyranny; in this sense,
democracy was to them a new form of despotism. Paradoxical as it may sound, it was in fact under the
impact of the Revolution that the revolutionary spirit in America

Odette Symbolism In Black Swan
Achieving perfection is not easy, and some may even say it is impossible. In 2010, Darren Aronofsky
s thought provoking film Black Swan was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best
Picture. The movie focuses on ballet dancer Nina as she lands the lead role in the New York Ballet
Company s Swan Lake. She has an obsession with becoming perfect and because of this, she slowly
slips into a state of madness and jealously of her understudy. The ballet of Swan Lake has many
interpretations, but the main story revolves around Odette the Swan Queen who has a cursed placed on
her by the evil Rothbart. In order to break the curse placed upon her, someone must fall in love with
her, but instead the Prince is tricked into falling in love with her ... Show more content on

The story of Swan Lake and Black Swan parallel, but when the movie does an actual performance of
the ballet, the aesthetic of ballet reflects the movie s themes overall. While the choreography remains
the same, the colors are much darker than a normal stage production would be. Since the film is a
thriller with a dark tone, the colors fit the mood better than the bright, cool colors of a normal stage
production. Even in the scenes with the White Swan, the color palette is somewhat more somber than
normal. The lighting has a red tent to it when Nina is dancing the White Swan. This could be a symbol
of even when she is most innocent, there is still darkness surrounding her. She also messes up during
that time as well so the red could also be adding to the fact that she is so far gone by the Black Swan
that she can no longer dance the White Swan. Also, the costuming of the antagonist, Rothbart, is much
more monster like and bulky than the original slim leotard that is easy to dance and move with. This is
to show how small Nina is compared to him, and that the darkness that is inside of her can overcome
her. He is not shown much throughout the film, but when he does he seems to blend in as compared to
Nina s overall psychological turmoil. Finally, the Black Swan appearance is much more sinister that
the ballet version, with its dark wings and red eyes. The audience only sees

Anthrax (Bacillus Anthracis) Essay
Anthrax (Bacillus anthracis) is an acute infectious disease caused by the spore forming bacterium. The
most common victims of anthrax are warm blooded animals, but it can also infect humans. Anthrax
spores can be produced in a powdery form for biological warfare. When inhaled by humans, these
particles cause respiratory failure and death within a week. Because anthrax is considered to be a
potential agent for use in biological warfare, the Department of Defense (DOD), in 1998, announced it
would begin a systematic vaccination of all U.S. military personnel. (DOD, 1998) Anthrax infection
occurs in three forms: cutaneous (skin), inhalation, and gastrointestinal. B. anthracis spores can

Inhalation: Initial symptoms may resemble a common cold. After several days, the symptoms may
progress to severe breathing problems and shock. Inhalation anthrax usually results in death in 1 2
days after onset of the acute symptoms.
Intestinal: The intestinal disease form of anthrax may follow ingestion of contaminated meat and is
characterized by an acute inflammation of the intestinal tract. Nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting and
fever are followed by abdominal pain, vomiting of blood, and severe diarrhea. Intestinal anthrax
results in death in 25% to 60% of cases. The incubation period is usually within seven days. There are
no reports of the disease spreading from human to human. Direct person to person spread of anthrax
most likely does not occur. Once a person has been infected with anthrax and survived, a second bout
with this disease is unlikely.
To treat anthrax, doctors can prescribe antibiotics. Usually penicillin based antibiotics such as Cipro
are preferred, but erythromycin, tetracycline, or chloramphenicol can also be used. To be effective,
treatment should be initiated early. The disease could be fatal if left untreated. (Sofaer, et al, 1999)

Should Schools Keep Junk Food
Keep junk foods in school cafeterias The controversial topic of childhood obesity has been going on
for a long time and because of it, many schools are debating if they should ban junk food from school
cafeterias or not. There are many opinions on what step should be taken to solve this problem. Some
say too ban junk food and some say it should not be banned. It should be up to the kids and the parents
as too what kids eat and not the government. By banning junk food in one place doesn t mean it s
going to stop them from eating sugary foods they can get it from another place. One of the reasons
why junk food should not be banned from school cafeteria is because the cafeteria isn t the only
source kids have too unhealthy foods. Kids in school can go just around the block to the gas station or
minimart and buy all sorts of junk foods, probably even more than what they can buy in school from
vending machines and the lunch lines combined. Like Rosenthal said, at some open campus schools
have made it a practice to walk to nearby mini marts and gas stations to buy the same products they
used to purchase in the vending machines (9). This quote tells us that campuses have made it easier for
students to go out during school and or afterschool to purchase the junk food they want. A school
administration recently did an experiment to see if students could purchase individual food and
beverage items, either from vending machines, school store, canteen, snack bar or a la carte

Three Types of Stigma Related to HIV
Goffman (1963) defined stigma as any condition, attribute, trait, or behavior that is deeply discrediting
and reduces the bearer from a whole and usual person to a tainted and discounted one. . Stigma consist
of an attributes that marks people as different leading to devaluation. Stigma is socially constructed
(Major O Brien, 2005) thus is dependent both on relationship and context. In fact, Goffman (1963)
emphasized using the language of relationships (p. 3) when considering stigma. A subsequent
framework proposed by Corrigan, Markowitz, and Watson (2004) expands the social mechanisms of
stigma by describing the structural determinants of stigma that arise from economic, political, and
historical sources.
Three types of stigma have been generally conceptualized in current HIV/AIDS psychosocial and
behavioral studies. These include: enacted stigma (overt acts of discrimination and hostility),
perceived stigma (subjective awareness of stigma), and internalized stigma (individual acceptance of
stigma as valid) (Steward et al., 2008). PLWH are stigmatized because their illness is socially
perceived as associated with deviant behavior; viewed as the responsibility of the individual; tainted
as to its immorality; perceived as contagious and threatening; associated with an undesirable and an
unaesthetic form of death; and not well understood by the lay community and viewed negatively by
healthcare providers (Alonzo Reynolds, 1995).

Squat Rack Research Paper
Sitting directly in front of me, the squat rack looked ominous and much like a torture cage. Naïve 16
year old me approached the rack the way a cat approaches a vacuum cleaner terrified, but insanely
curious.
Squats were introduced to me during weight training practices for high school soccer. Our coaches
valued the importance of muscle AND agility training, so naturally we spent a lot of time in the weight
room (though they didn t like that we goofed off during most of these intense sessions). Needless to

First, according to a Fit Day article, squat exercises are great for a total lower body workout. Not only
does this exercise target the gluteus muscles, but it also tones the legs, strengthens the core, increases
flexibility and with added weight, engages the upper body.
In general, it s a good idea to look over proper form before beginning this exercise. To start, a squat
rack and barbell is needed. Most gyms will have a squat rack, but some may have attached racks,
called Smith Machines. Several exercise science majors (and that Body Builder article) in my friend
group don t recommend these racks, partly because they don t allow for users to find their
center/balance and they place a lot of pressure on the knees.
Regardless, there are various ways to do squat exercises, but I prefer detached barbell racks. In that
case, according to a Workout Labs article, you ll want to set the barbell on the rack as the same height
as your upper chest. Then position your body under the bar while bending your knees slightly. At this
point, the barbell should be resting on your shoulders, but avoid placing it on the bone because you get

Keeping an Optimistic Attitude in Life Essay
Keeping an Optimistic Attitude in Life Optimistic and pessimistic attitudes constantly affect the
outcome of people s lives. In my life, I try to keep an optimistic attitude about the things I do because
I know it will help lead me to more desirable ends. There have been many situations in which
optimism has helped me through difficult times. Two areas in particular have provided me optimistic
experiences: athletics and academics. First, optimism was very apparent while I was the co captain of

The most challenging times for me were those when we would be losing and all the players would get
angry with one another. This was especially apparent when one of the defenders on our team would
make a mistake and allow the other team to score. Many players would then yell at him creating a
negative attitude both toward themselves and the player. At that time, even though I was actually
angry myself, I would both stop the other players from yelling and offer encouragement to the one
who had made the mistake. For the most part, I would simply offer some advice by pointing out what
he had done wrong and told him how to do it right the next time. Thereby, I would always keep a very
positive attitude and told the players that they were doing well, but they just had to do it better next
time. I know that the way I approached the problem helped maintain a positive attitude among all the
players. This approach led to the team playing better and winning more. Another application in which
an optimistic attitude has proven to be very beneficial has been in academics. Notably, there have been
classes in which assignments were difficult for me and led to less than sufficient grades. Even though I
was disappointed with my poor performance, I always stayed optimistic about bringing the grades

The Face Of The Menace In Pinter s The Room
Now, cleaning the room in total darkness is absurd as one can t see the dirt around. The real purpose of
using the vacuum cleaner is to scare Davies, as he is unaware that the sudden noise is actually the hum
of the Electrolux and that the object that moved along with him is the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner
operated by Mick. In both the scenes it is observed that darkness is used as a cover to put the evil
plans of the menacing elements into action. The face of the menace is veiled in the darkness and as
such its effect on its victims is more intensified and lasting in comparison to the menace that can be
seen in broad daylight. f) Violent/aggressive behavior of characters: In Pinter s plays, menace is also
enhanced by the violent and aggressive behavior of the characters. Towards the end of the play The
Room Bert becomes very violent and assaults Riley till he dies. This sudden violent behavior of Bert
indicates that menace is prevalent everywhere. Nobody can bar the menace from entering his/her room

The eager minds of the people and the skill of the two preachers are what lead the people to either life
or death. It is obvious that the Pardoner does not actually use sacred relics to cure anything:
quot;Relikes been they, as wenen they echoon / Thanne have I in latoun a sholder boon / Which that
was of an hooly Jewes sheep. quot; (Lines 349 51). He has actually quot;cured quot; those who come
to him seeking salvation and pardon. This mindset, with the addition of the Pardoner s great skill in
making himself sound so innocent and pure, is what actually cures the people. The people just need
something tangible, like the fake relics, to hold on to and believe in to be quot;cured quot;. Again, the
same is true for the old man. The three rioters that come to him are already in search of and eager to
find Death, as opposed to life or salvation. When the old man points them in the right

Evolution Of Pheromones In Dogs
Smell: Dogs use smell to identify individuals, determine gender and recognise another dog s mood.
Their olfactory sense is said to be 40 times more sensitive than a human s (Wiki, 2015). They are able
to use pheromones for communication, which are endogenous chemicals that carry messages
(Hedges.S, 2014). Different chemicals are secreted when dogs are angry, fearful or confident (Wiki,
2015). Different chemicals are secreted in females which give information on whether the bitch is
pregnant, has recently given birth or is in her oestrus cycle (Wiki, 2015). Many of these pheromones
are found dissolved in the animals urine, male dogs prefer to urinate on vertical surfaces as high as
they can as the sent will carry further (Wiki, 2015). Pheromones are detected by the vomeronasal
organ located on the hard palate behind the incisors (Hedges,S.2014).

It is thought that dogs mostly see in yellow, blue and grey and are less sensitive to grey shades than
humans (Wiki, 2015). Their sight has evolved to enable them to hunt therefore they have a great
ability to see moving objects (Wiki, 2015). Dogs have very large pupils and a high density of rods,
which gives them good sight in low light (Wiki, 2015). They have the ability to rotate their pupils
further than humans and can have a field of vision up to 270o in sight hounds with long muzzles
(Wiki, 2015). The eyes of puppies only open at about two weeks and they can initially only see light
and dark (Hedges.S, 2014). Visual development is complete by the age of 5 6 weeks of age (Hedges.

Ffa Should Not Be Allowed In Sports
Yet, for all of this success the treatment of the women s game within FIFA is appalling. They are
treated almost as if they don t exist within the organization, and it s not as if they don t try to get FIFA
s attention. In 2015, the Women s World Cup was due to be played, but before then an important issue
had arisen: it was going to be played on artificial turf. Several of the World Cup bound players
complained, but neither FIFA nor the Canadian Soccer Association would have any of it. The CSA
argued that the turf was FIFA approved and therefore suitable for playing the game, and FIFA was
silent on the matter. Furthermore, the CSA argued that the lawsuit is not valid because the majority of
their playing fields are turf. Kate Fagan, a writer

Case Study Of Kellobits
Old habits die hard, especially when it comes to Indian eating habits. When Kellogg India Ltd.
(Kellogg s), the wholly owned subsidiary of the US$ 7 billion Kellogg Company, entered the 3000 ton
cereal market in 1994, little did it realize the importance of the adage. It had a clear game plan to
position itself on the health platform, highlighting the nutritional values of the brand.
The journey from 1994 to present, 2011 has been full of large scale Up s and Down s.
Product: It is a tangible good or an intangible service that is mass produced or manufactured on a large
scale with a specific volume of units.

Corn Flakes, by contrast, are aimed at the whole family.
This targeting will determine the content of the advert and the time of broadcast. Product
Launched in September 1994, Kellogg s initial offerings in
India included cornflakes, wheat flakes and Basmati rice flakes. Despite offering good quality
products and being supported by the technical, managerial and financial resources of its parent,
Kellogg s products failed in the
Indian market. Even a high profile launch backed by hectic media activity failed to make an impact in
the marketplace.
Meanwhile, negative media coverage regarding the products increased, as more and more consumers
were reportedly rejecting the taste. Converting the experimenters into regular buyers had become a
major problem for the company. Realising that a major reason for Kellogg s failure was the fact that
the taste of its products did not suit Indian breakfast habits, it came up with the idea of Indianisation of
the taste. Kellogg decided to launch two of its highly successful brands Chocos (September 1996) and

News Programs Bias And Political Party
A news programs bias and political party standings can effect what types of propaganda they show of
certain candidates. For example, FOX news is a strictly Republican news channel, it supports
Republican candidate, meanwhile news channels such as MSNBC and PBS are extremely democratic
programs and support Democratic candidates in elections. News programs political bias can affect the
way that particular program portrays a candidate for an upcoming election and a candidate s portrayal
can change a voter s opinion of a candidate and can cause that candidate to lose viewers votes. The
broadcasting of malicious rumors and gossip in any form by news programs gives a negative
conception to a viewer. No viewer wants to vote for a candidate that is portrayed in a way that makes
the viewer believe that they are bad for the country. Every viewer needs to take in to consideration the
political bias of a news program before changing his or her opinion of a candidate as well as do some
research on the candidates of an election themselves.
Lastly, the dramatization by news programs today produces a glamorization of crime. News stories on
crimes are extremely popular due to the fact audiences remembers bad news much easier than good
news. Take history for example, much of history is filled with recounts of gruesome murders, wars,
and scandals. An estimated 71 million viewers across the country tune in to their local news station s
broadcast (Yanich, 2004, p. 537). It can easily be

Loneliness And Alienation In The Painted Door By Sinclair...
Loneliness and alienation can often have a strong effect on people, especially when facing normal
societal challenges. People will act differently and have different reactions if they aren t around others
facing these problems, this is illustrated well by Sinclair Ross in two of his stories. His story The
Painted Door focused on a farmer s wife named Ann. It begins with her husband, John, leaving to help
his father at his father s farm while Ann begs him to stay. He leaves anyway but stops to visit their
neighbour, Steven, and asks him to go visit Ann to keep her company. Out of loneliness and
desperation Ann cheats on John with Steven. The next morning, they find John frozen to death and
Ann sees paint on his palm, revealing John had seen Ann and Steven together and left back into the
cold to meet his demise. Sinclair Ross One s a Heifer focuses on a thirteen year old ... Show more

He strongly hints at it when they talk about her and expressess his distaste, Too many of the kind you
ll never get rid of again. She did, last summer when she was here. I had to put her out. (Ross 423)
Vickers is not used to having people around, so when this girl stays with him he is unsure how to deal
with her, and he ends up murdering her. He also does everything he can to keep the protagonist out of
the box stall, It s just kind of a harness room now. Up till a year ago I kept a stallion. (Ross 418)
Throughout the story it is strongly hinted that Vickers is keeping the body of the girl in the box stall.
He is very reluctant to let the protagonist see inside and tries to draw the protagonists attention away
from the box stall. Vickers is clearly a character driven by his comfortable loneliness and isolation
from the outside world to murder his companion. Both of these characters were driven to make
drastic, life changing decisions as a result of their loneliness and

Both the distances between drug targets and the comparison of target neighbors are important when when administering olanzapine in combination with other drugs due to its effects on the CNS. • 4. Bine Drinking Vs Binge Drinking America perfectly represents the ideals of the Enlightenment: the land of the free and the home of the brave; a nation in which citizens can choose who they want to be and what they want to do. Throughout the Revolutionary War, the colonists relied on each other for support and no one could afford the luxury of a peaceful, secluded life. That emphasis on sociability became a part of the American identity. Lung cancer has declined steadily over the last thirty years (Cancer Statistics Report), but liver cancer incidents have tripled over that time period as Americans are binge drinking now more than ever (Key Statistics About Liver Cancer). While, at times, smoking can be social and drinking can be anti social, America s emphasis on gregariousness causes society to hypocritically scorn smoking but tolerate binge drinking because smoking is an anti social activity whereas binge drinking is a social activity. Advertisement posters against smoking and binge drinking differ because of the USA s cultural values, particularly due to the solidarity of smoking versus the camaraderie of drinking. Although binge drinking is typically considered four drinks for women and five drinks for men in a two hour span, this fails to account for someone s height, weight, and food consumed, and therefore many people have no idea if they are binge drinking or not, causing some to black out (Drinking Levels Defined). • 19. Diet And Exercise Of Living A Healthy Life Jessica Gourneau Professor Vanderlinde English 101 8 November 2015 Diet and Exercise Many people struggle with living a healthy life or struggle to know what exactly a healthy life means. Having good diet and exercise habits are an important part of living a healthy life. Just because someone may look fit and healthy, does not mean they are healthy. In fact, they could be just as unhealthy as an obsess person. This is also the same for someone who may not look like they are healthy. Even if they are overweight, they can still have a clean diet and a healthy heart. The only true way to determine if someone is living a healthy life and eating properly along with getting the right amount of exercise is by taking a closer look at their activity level and diet. The foundation to staying healthy is having a good meal plan. There are many different factors to consider when customizing a meal plan for someone. Their age, existing health issues, and the amount of activity are some of the main factors. For example, a younger person who is physical active will not have to limit their diet as much as someone who is older and is not physical active. The average person should aim for 6 11 servings of grains, 3 5 of fruits and vegetables, 2 3 of dairy and meat, and also limit the amount of sugar and fats. • 21. Endangered Elephant Essay Asian elephants are an endangered animal. Their population is decreasing very quickly. In 2000, there were more than 100,000 elephants left, but now, in 2017, there are only 35,000 to 40,000 left. Some of the problems Asian elephants face is habitat loss, ivory poaching and the kidnapping of young elephants. Luckily, there are many ways you can help to stop them from going extinct, including donating to places like the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, encouraging selective logging, shutting down ivory markets, donating and shunning places that advertise the chance to see a baby elephant. The main problem causing Asian elephants to be endangered is habitat loss. People have been cutting down the tropical forests where the elephants used to live and are building houses in the valleys and plains. In fact, about 20% of all humans live close to the current habitat of the Asian elephant. The elephants move to the hills and the remains of the forests, but even then they are still at risk. Because the elephants are forced into smaller areas, inbreeding may occur. The elephants are unable to mix with other herds, which causes their genetic material to be too closely related to that of other elephants in their herd. The migrations of the elephants have also been disrupted by habitat loss. Dams, coffee and tea plantations, railway lines, and roads break up the routes the elephants once used on their seasonal migration. Selective logging is one solution to habitat loss. • 23. The Rational Way Of Life The Rational Way of Life Epictetus Stoic Recommendation of Freedom Freedom is an arbitrary concept that has been and will always be limited. The notion of freedom is possible among equals, however, equality itself is universally different. Arendt, a political theorist, believes political freedom manifests through action, her reliance on the ability to act implies that humans can tangibly live freely. Epictetus on the other hand, believes that all humans can be internally free if they had a stoic mindset in their way of life. He believes that human beings are in complete control of their happiness and should only worry about what they can control instead of what they cannot. The revolutionary treasure is the original spirit of individual freedom that has been lost through the principles of public freedom and public happiness. Freedom as Epictetus defines is an internal condition that only we ourselves possess control over, his stoic recommendation offers a simple yet rational approach of living life freely. Public opinion suffocates the original spirit of the revolutionary treasure because public opinion provokes a common opposition, thus killing true personal opinions of American citizens. Arendt states that the Founding Fathers of America equated law based on public opinion with tyranny; in this sense, democracy was to them a new form of despotism. • 26. Odette Symbolism In Black Swan Achieving perfection is not easy, and some may even say it is impossible. In 2010, Darren Aronofsky s thought provoking film Black Swan was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The movie focuses on ballet dancer Nina as she lands the lead role in the New York Ballet Company s Swan Lake. She has an obsession with becoming perfect and because of this, she slowly slips into a state of madness and jealously of her understudy. The ballet of Swan Lake has many interpretations, but the main story revolves around Odette the Swan Queen who has a cursed placed on her by the evil Rothbart. The story of Swan Lake and Black Swan parallel, but when the movie does an actual performance of the ballet, the aesthetic of ballet reflects the movie s themes overall. While the choreography remains the same, the colors are much darker than a normal stage production would be. Since the film is a thriller with a dark tone, the colors fit the mood better than the bright, cool colors of a normal stage production. Even in the scenes with the White Swan, the color palette is somewhat more somber than normal. The lighting has a red tent to it when Nina is dancing the White Swan. This could be a symbol of even when she is most innocent, there is still darkness surrounding her. She also messes up during that time as well so the red could also be adding to the fact that she is so far gone by the Black Swan that she can no longer dance the White Swan. Also, the costuming of the antagonist, Rothbart, is much more monster like and bulky than the original slim leotard that is easy to dance and move with. This is to show how small Nina is compared to him, and that the darkness that is inside of her can overcome her. He is not shown much throughout the film, but when he does he seems to blend in as compared to Nina s overall psychological turmoil. Finally, the Black Swan appearance is much more sinister that the ballet version, with its dark wings and red eyes. The audience only sees ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most common victims of anthrax are warm blooded animals, but it can also infect humans. Anthrax spores can be produced in a powdery form for biological warfare. When inhaled by humans, these particles cause respiratory failure and death within a week. Because anthrax is considered to be a potential agent for use in biological warfare, the Department of Defense (DOD), in 1998, announced it would begin a systematic vaccination of all U.S. military personnel. Nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting and fever are followed by abdominal pain, vomiting of blood, and severe diarrhea. Intestinal anthrax results in death in 25% to 60% of cases. The incubation period is usually within seven days. There are no reports of the disease spreading from human to human. Direct person to person spread of anthrax most likely does not occur. Once a person has been infected with anthrax and survived, a second bout with this disease is unlikely. To treat anthrax, doctors can prescribe antibiotics. Usually penicillin based antibiotics such as Cipro are preferred, but erythromycin, tetracycline, or chloramphenicol can also be used. To be effective, treatment should be initiated early. Should Schools Keep Junk Food Keep junk foods in school cafeterias The controversial topic of childhood obesity has been going on for a long time and because of it, many schools are debating if they should ban junk food from school cafeterias or not. There are many opinions on what step should be taken to solve this problem. Some say too ban junk food and some say it should not be banned. It should be up to the kids and the parents as too what kids eat and not the government. By banning junk food in one place doesn t mean it s going to stop them from eating sugary foods they can get it from another place. One of the reasons why junk food should not be banned from school cafeteria is because the cafeteria isn t the only source kids have too unhealthy foods. Kids in school can go just around the block to the gas station or minimart and buy all sorts of junk foods, probably even more than what they can buy in school from vending machines and the lunch lines combined. Like Rosenthal said, at some open campus schools have made it a practice to walk to nearby mini marts and gas stations to buy the same products they used to purchase in the vending machines (9). This quote tells us that campuses have made it easier for students to go out during school and or afterschool to purchase the junk food they want. • 29. Three Types of Stigma Related to HIV Goffman (1963) defined stigma as any condition, attribute, trait, or behavior that is deeply discrediting and reduces the bearer from a whole and usual person to a tainted and discounted one. . Stigma consist of an attributes that marks people as different leading to devaluation. Stigma is socially constructed (Major O Brien, 2005) thus is dependent both on relationship and context. In fact, Goffman (1963) emphasized using the language of relationships (p. 3) when considering stigma. A subsequent framework proposed by Corrigan, Markowitz, and Watson (2004) expands the social mechanisms of stigma by describing the structural determinants of stigma that arise from economic, political, and historical sources. Three types of stigma have been generally conceptualized in current HIV/AIDS psychosocial and behavioral studies. These include: enacted stigma (overt acts of discrimination and hostility), perceived stigma (subjective awareness of stigma), and internalized stigma (individual acceptance of stigma as valid) (Steward et al., 2008). PLWH are stigmatized because their illness is socially perceived as associated with deviant behavior; viewed as the responsibility of the individual; tainted as to its immorality; perceived as contagious and threatening; associated with an undesirable and an unaesthetic form of death; and not well understood by the lay community and viewed negatively by healthcare providers (Alonzo Reynolds, 1995). 2) The relation of stigma and ... The Pardoner does feel guilt and advocates not to commit avarice; he exclaims, quot; Radix malorum est Cupiditas, quot; (line 426) as his theme more than once. Because he ... Thus, the old man looks of death: quot;Lo how I vanysshe, flessh, and blood, and skyn! quot; (Line 732). On the other hand, the Pardoner s profession is to absolve sinners and steer them towards life; he guides people to spiritual and even physical life! Therefore, he personifies all that is pure and innocent, such as a youthful and innocent boy. Both, with this physical aid, do good jobs of preaching to people to get their desired results. The eager minds of the people and the skill of the two preachers are what lead the people to either life or death. It is obvious that the Pardoner does not actually use sacred relics to cure anything: quot;Relikes been they, as wenen they echoon / Thanne have I in latoun a sholder boon / Which that was of an hooly Jewes sheep. quot; (Lines 349 51). He has actually quot;cured quot; those who come to him seeking salvation and pardon. This mindset, with the addition of the Pardoner s great skill in making himself sound so innocent and pure, is what actually cures the people. The people just need something tangible, like the fake relics, to hold on to and believe in to be quot;cured quot;. Again, the same is true for the old man. The three rioters that come to him are already in search of and eager to find Death, as opposed to life or salvation. When the old man points them in the right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Ffa Should Not Be Allowed In Sports Yet, for all of this success the treatment of the women s game within FIFA is appalling. They are treated almost as if they don t exist within the organization, and it s not as if they don t try to get FIFA s attention. In 2015, the Women s World Cup was due to be played, but before then an important issue had arisen: it was going to be played on artificial turf. Several of the World Cup bound players complained, but neither FIFA nor the Canadian Soccer Association would have any of it. The CSA argued that the turf was FIFA approved and therefore suitable for playing the game, and FIFA was silent on the matter. Furthermore, the CSA argued that the lawsuit is not valid because the majority of their playing fields are turf. Kate Fagan, a writer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
