My Experience Of Moving To A New Country
Moving to a new house it s exciting but moving to a new country it s terrifying. That s how I felt when
I moved here to the states, terrified. Entering unknown land without knowing a sense of English can
be very overwhelming at a young age. Leaving my family was definitely one of the hardest thing I ve
experienced because I couldn t just drive back to visit them. Even though I was only 12 when I moved
from Venezuela, that journey has helped me grow and have a better mindset. I get to see things
differently and have a different look on life. I would say that it has definitely help me transition from
childhood to adulthood. Because moving with new people, learning a new culture and language is
something special yet so stressing. At times I find

Aaron Copland Research Paper
I became very preoccupied with writing serious concert music that would have a specifically
American flavor. ( UXL Biographies 2). Those were the words of Aaron Copland, which he told to
Edward Rothstein of the New York Times. Copland wanted to make American music speak in its own
unique way. Over the course of his existence he did that by composing some of the most well known
classical scores and ballet theme of his time.Truly studying Aaron Copeland s life, an individual can
recognize that Copeland is a true American icon by analyzing his life experiences and understanding
how his tremendous impact and influence had touched lives of Americans, most particularly,
musicians.
Aaron Copland was born in the year of 1900 on November 14th, near Brooklyn, New York. As the

Growing up on the streets of New York made Copland independent, as his music conveys. He revealed
a great interest in music during his early life, composing songs when he was only eight years old (
UXL Biographies 1). Composing at this young age was already a sign of a true gift. Copland s family
had already invested a significant amount of money in the four older children with less than stellar
results ( UXL Biographies 1). Copeland s siblings all took after music for a hobby, but his talent was
unmatched. His parents finally paid for private piano lessons with Leopold Wolfsohn when he turned
13 ( UXL Biographies 1). Short after that he attended Boys High School in Brooklyn, where he took
music theory classes with Rubin Goldmark for the next four years ( Encyclopedia of World Biography

great American composer, also studied with Goldmark ( Newsmakers 1). The teacher of Copland not
only taught one, but two, amazing composers, artists, and musicians. In 1924 Copland went to France

Anxiety And Anxiety Disorder
Fear and anxiety are feelings that are natural human responses. These feelings are necessary in
humans and animals for survival and to deal with dangerous and stressful events. They/such feelings
help individuals cope with adverse or unexpected situations. However, there are certain individuals
who will experience these feelings on a daily basis for long periods of time. The constant fear and
anxiety interferes with individual s daily lives and it is then when these feelings become a mental
health problem, identify as Anxiety Disorders (Steimer, 2002). One of these anxiety disorders is Panic
Disorder. Panic Disorder is characterized by individuals suffering from unpredicted and constant
attacks of fear which normally last between 10 to 20 minutes. These attacks are known as panic
attacks. Panic attacks are identified by fear of losing control even in situations where there is no real
danger. Some of the most frequent symptoms a person experience when having a panic attack are
chest pain, palpitations, sweating, feeling short of breath and the feelings of going crazy or having a
heart attack (National Institute of Mental Health, 2016). Furthermore, people who suffer from Panic
Disorder often develop other conditions such as depression, phobias and drug abuse. Many people
with Panic Disorder will avoid certain situations and environments because they fear they may suffer a
panic attack. Because of this, it is also very common for individuals with Panic Disorder to develop
agoraphobia (NIH, 2016). As a consequence of fearing a panic attack, people with this disorder often
engage in catastrophic and negative thinking. A common example is my heart is beating fast, I am
having a heart attack (Steimer, 2002). Therefore, Panic Disorder is a condition that have a negative
impact on people s family, social and working lives (Kessler et al., 2005). Panic Disorder is treatable,
and numerous treatments exist which help reducing the severity of the symptoms as well as decreasing
the number of panic attacks that occur in the disorder. These treatments are biological treatment,
which involve pharmacological drugs, psychotherapy or a combination of both (National Institute of
Health and Care Excellence, 2013). This essay

Advertisement Analysis Of An Advertisement
There are many things that go in to make an advertisement successful for the audience. In 2014, a
photography blogger, Johnny Baker, posted a set of four photos stating that smoking dulls your senses.
The ad is successful because of the use of how simple and plain the photos are but also explaining the
true facts and how dangerous and expensive smoking is. To understand the purpose of this print
advertisement, you must understand why Baker created these. He states, I created still life scenes that
represented certain facts about smoking, these facts were chosen as they would be off putting to new
smokers and people that smoke already. (baker)I feel the ad appeals more towards women than men
but also relates a little to everyone because it talks about the effects that smoking has during a
pregnancy and how smoking can cause your skin to wrinkle and age faster. This is important because
pregnancy is wanted for most women and smoking can cause serious affect to fertility. Also, men do
not care as much about wrinkles like women. All four of the photos are items, but what makes the
message so powerful is Baker creates them with cardboard. He says he did this to make it eye catching
and to replicate the color of the addictiveness, which is nicotine. The first picture to appear, appeals to
everyone because everybody needs food to survive. It shows a drink, a hamburger and some fries, but
all made from cardboard. The caption explains that smoking dulls your

What Is Leon Trotsky s Allusion For Snowball On Animal Farm
Leon Trotsky once said, The end may justify the means as long as there is something that justifies the
end, . Leon Trotsky was a Bolshevik revolutionary and Marxist theorist. Trotsky served as the People s
Commissar for Foreign Affair and the People s Commissar of War and was the founder and
commander of the Red War. He was also an allusion for Snowball on Animal Farm by George Orwell.
He has gone through so many bumps on the road throughout his life, but still made his way back and
he always knew how to be a great leader. Lev Davidovich Bronstein was born on November 7, 1879
in Yonovka, Ukraine. At age 8, he was sent to school in Odessa for 8 years. He moved to Nikolayev in
1896 to complete his schooling, and was introduced to Marxism. After briefly attending the University
of Odessa, he returned to Nikolayev to help organize the underground South Russian Workers Union.
He was arrested in January 1898 for revolutionary activity and spent 4 ½ years in prison and in exile
in Siberia. In 1902, he escaped with a forged passport with the name Trotsky and adopted as his
revolutionary pseudonym, then moved to London and joined the Russian Social Democrats working
with Vladimir Lenin, where he sided with the Mensheviks. On May 1917, Trotsky ... Show more

Dance Philosophy
The question, why I dance, seems simple and obvious. My first thought is that I just dance, that s why.
Because there was never a day when I chose dance, it is just a part of me that has always been there.
My mother put me in dance classes when I was three years old to give me something to do while my
newborn brother got all of the attention. For as long as I can remember I was dancing. I thought that
dance was just what I did, but the truth is that no one is forcing me to dance. It would be more
accurate to say that I am forcing everyone else around me to let me dance. I choose walk myself to
dance when my parents will not drive me, and I choose to stay up until three a.m. going over every
correction given to me in every combination at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My beloved teacher taught us that it is okay if there is that one percent of the time where your feet so
desperately want to escape your pointe shoes, your legs are so sore that they can barely walk up the
stairs, your mind is so foggy after rehearsing your variation over and over upwards of 50 times during
the past 6 hours, and you still cannot manage to get the turn section at the end correct. You are allowed
to hate ballet for that one day as long as you wake up the next morning ready to go dance your heart
out and nail that turn section. All real dancers love dance most of the time. When I am feeling extra
stressed because I have a test in every subject at school the next day and three large projects to finish,
everyone around me tries to force me to stay home from dance. They do not understand that dance
class is the one way I can escape from my anxieties about school. Dance does not add to my stress, but
is the only way I can cope with it. It is impossible to be worried at dance because there are so many
things to be thinking about at the same time that there is no room to worry about anything else.
Dancers do not dance because we want to, but because we have to. Wherever we are, we find a way to
dance because it is a part of who we are. We are

The Problem Of Nuclear Power
Nuclear power is one of the most controversial issues of today s society. This stems from the fact that
although nuclear power holds vast amounts of potential, it currently has many problems. One of the
main problems is figuring out what to do with the waste. The waste itself is too dangerous to dispose
of in any conventional way, so presently, most of it is sealed in concrete casks and put into storage (in
bunkers) until it stops being dangerous. This might not seem like a bad idea at first, but the problem
with this idea is that the waste won t stop being dangerous for many, many years. There have to be
better solutions to this problem.
As it turns out, there are a few. The most promising in the short term is to recycle the nuclear waste,
like any normal type of waste. In order to understand how this and some other solutions work, a crash
course in basic nuclear physics will be provided. Now, that might sound a bit difficult, but it s actually
pretty simple, and chances are some of it was taught in elementary school science class. Anyone who
feels they already know what they need to know, or can t be bothered to read it, should feel free to
skim through or skip the crash course.
Let s get started! Every physical object in existence is made of atoms. Atoms are made of three basic
components: protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons carry a positive(+) electrostatic charge,
electrons carry a negative( ) electrostatic charge and are about a thousandth the mass of a proton,

No-No Boy Essay
In the novel, No No Boy, John Okada provides an ideological perspective of a young Japanese
American during the aftermath of World War II that gives the reader an insight into the racial
discrimination towards a race that is rarely acknowledged in United States history. The author uses the
past of Ichiro to determine the effect it has on his family to guide the story and appeal to the reader s
pathos over a topic that is not widely discussed in modern society. The importance of the past plays a
huge role on the decisions and actions the characters take during Post World War II. The influences his
family gives him and the rapid change on how the Japanese descents are viewed by Americans
contributes to Ichiro s decisions and plans for his future. Although Ichiro grew up during a world crisis
in which his race was targeted in the United States, he was able to distinguish those that fell into
conformity and how he will be able to move on with his life with the limited resources.

Do Fans Take Things Too Far Research Paper
Do fans take things too far?
This story is going to give you the answer once in for all. Do fans take things too far? NO! 1 thing is
fans just want to be good supporters of their team. 2nd fans act the same way their team does after a
loss upset, mad, and sometimes enraged it s just the way the fans feel after a game. 3rd all the fans
want to do is one let the players know that we the fans represent them and want them to win, second
we the fans are on that teams side and third we the fans will scream and shout and let it all out too let
the players we represent them and that they are our favorite. The first reason being fans are all about
supporting their team they will stop at nothing to prove that they love the team they cheer for ... Show

Thats just because fans sometimes get enraged because their team has lost all fans will feel the same
way the team does sad and depressed about the loss many fans will take the team loss and count as a
loss as if it was the fans loss in real life. The last reason, fans want to support the team they like they
want to show that team they want them to win, even if that means screaming at the top of their lungs
and dressing up like their team, meaning the fans wearing face paint or that teams jersey or even body
paint like painting the teams logo on your stomach. Believe you me fans will do anything and
everything to let the team know that we are their supporters.
Now yes I know we the fans can go a little over board. We the fans can take things a little too far and
start vandalising things but thats not what every fan does. You have to realise that fans just want their
team to win. Fans tend to get mad enraged or even start breaking things if their team doesn t win. It s

The Dangers Of Mass Shootings
Mass Shootings
There is no question that mass shootings are happening more frequently. The question is are they
happening to often? They have become more common, but have always been a problem in the world.
Shootings have been happening since the invention of guns, but as we come closer to our era mass
shootings have been happening more regularly. These shootings need to be stopped and put an end to.
But how can we as a whole all come together and put an end to it? The statistics and facts that are
going to be used give valid reasons to where the shootings take place, how it happens and the number
of casualties and lives taken from these shootings.
Mass shootings have recently become more frequent and more deadly over the years. Living in the
U.S. we have lived through at least fifty years of mass shootings and a variation of tragedies. A mass
shooting is when a gunman shoots or kills four or more people in the same general time and location.
The three most deadly shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in the past ten years are Las Vegas
attack (at least 58 killed), Virgina Tech massacre (32 killed), Orlando nightclub shooting(49 dead)
(Willingham). These shootings exemplify the lack of control that we have over guns and the type of
people that have possession of the guns. If we want to try to control the type of people who can own a
gun, then the government should keep updated on the people who buy bigger guns with more rounds
and do mental background checks. The researchers also found that most mass murderers suffered from
some mental instability, though they usually weren t flagged by mental health specialists or law
enforcement. And military style rifles were used in 18 of the 66 mass public shootings in the most
recent 15 year period the researchers studied (Shastry, Anjali). If a person has possession a military
style rifle that should automatically redflag the government. Some of the main reasons that these
things happen are because the government or law enforcement don t keep tabs on these people. Media
today plays a big part in the mass shootings believe it or not. Media contagion is largely responsible
for the increase in these often deadly outbursts (Media Contagion). By showing the number

Bpa Research Paper
An Investigation of BPA BPA is an industrial chemical used to make plastics. BPA stands for
bisphenol A. BPA Is used in a wide assortment of products from packaged food to dishes. FDA
approved BPA for use in the 1960s.1 The effect of BPA on human health has been highly disputed by
FDA and scientists. It is estimated that over 90% of the United States populous is exposed to BPA on a
daily basis (Brennen, 2017). To fully understand the ramifications of this chemical an examination of
research is required. BPA is a primary building block in most plastics, specifically polycarbonate

In fetal mouse prostate you can stimulate receptors with estradiol at about two tenths of a part per
trillion, and with BPA at a thousand times higher, vom Saal says. That s still 10 times lower than what
a six year old has. Mice with the same amount of BPA measured in urine the later developed cancer
and other health issues. There s also evidence from the journal of reproductive doxology that found
that humans must be exposed to levels of BPA at least 10 times what EPA has deemed safe because of
the amount of chemical detected in tissues and blood samples. In 1997 Japan began to use other
natural resin instead of BPA after their scientists show the leaching of BPA into baby bottles. They did
point out though that some of these same studies have shown that other foods we eat containing
estrogen like chemicals including some soy products have shown similar effects.(biello,2008) One of
the reasons for our quick excretion of BPA is our body turns it into glucuronide, and it is excreted
through feces and not urine, which is why the amount of BPA in urine indicates far higher exposure
than the actual amount in the urine. Also most is excreted within 6 hours and almost most all by 24
hours.(Carwhile, 2010) There is also studies that indicate that BPA in women can act like estrogen in
the body which increases the risk of breast cancer and cancer cell growth. (biello,2008) It s also been
linked through animal studies to cardiovascular disease and diabetes, early onset of sexual maturity,
problems with development of tissue organization of the mammary gland, reproductive tract lesions,
increase prostate size, and decrease sperm production in offspring.(Carwhile, 2010) Even short
periods of exposure can cause infertility in female

Go Set A Watchman Compare And Contrast
Harper Lee is the author of a very beloved book known as To Kill a Mockingbird. This book resonates
with us because it brings issues into the light that, at the time, were difficult to discuss. To Kill a
Mockingbird, is incredibly different from her other book newer novel Go Set a Watchman. She
originally wrote Go Set a Watchman, and then it was her publisher that told her the story would have a
greater impact if set from a younger Scout s perspective. How the publisher was able to see the
potential that the story had, I find to be fascinating. Personally, I did not enjoy Go Set a Watchman
like I did To Kill a Mockingbird. I feel that this is partly due to the order of how we read the books. It
is the same scenario as it was when we read the novel first then watched the movie with To Kill a
Mockingbird. Our entire view would be altered because both conveyed the same story but used
different techniques. I do not know how much we would have enjoyed reading Go Set a Watchman

Even though it was difficult to finish, I found that seeing a new side to Atticus was something that

Sarah Imeinu Research Paper
There are four great women of the Pentateuch, but I think Sarah is the greatest of all. The following is
the main background information about Sarah. Sarah Imeinu is the wife of Abraham and Mother of the
Jewish Nation. Sarah was the first matriarch, and Abraham was the first patriarch (father), of our
Jewish people. She was born and raised from the city of Ur, Kasdim, the Sumerian city of Ur.
Sarah s early life consists of many different names for herself. As a young girl, she was originally
known as Yisach (Jessica), which means to see. She is said to have been born blessed with divine
inspiration. She was exceedingly beautiful, so her original name reflected her beauty. She was a

a changed place because of her strength and insight. The most impressive thing about Sarah to me was
her popularity, power, and strength. Siftei Chachamim, a famed 17th century Torah commentator,
wrote that Sarah s level of prophecy was actually superior to that of Abraham. It is said that Sarah was
such a powerful prophetess that God spoke to her directly, while to the others he spoke through a
messenger. She was entirely free of sin, and she was exceptionally modest. One event that changed
Sarah s life was her giving birth to Isaac. God made a covenant with Abraham. This was that his wife

The Effects Of Dementia On The Brain Essay
Usually in chronic or progressive nature, Dementia is a syndrome where there is a deterioration in one
s cognitive function. Which is dramatically greater than normal cognitive deterioration expected from
normal aging. It is caused by a variety of diseases and injuries that affect the brain, such as a stroke or
Alzheimer s disease, 60 70% of cases are contributed to Alzheimer s. Dementia affects memory,
comprehension, calculation, language, judgment, thinking, and learning capacity. This is devastating
on the person affected and also the family of the person affected and can commonly lead to
deterioration in emotional control, motivation, and social behavior. Worldwide, it is estimated that
47.5 million people are living with dementia, 7.7 million new cases every year, and it is estimated that
75.6 million will be affected in 2030. Dementia is damage of nerve cells in several areas of the brain
and affects people differently based on the location of the damaged nerve cells. The type of dementia
is usually grouped by what they have in common, as in the area of the brain affected or whether they
are progressive (worsen over time). There also some dementias that are caused by a reaction to
medications or vitamin deficiencies and can possibly improve with treatment. Progressive dementias
that progress over time and are not reversible and have causes that are currently unknown but, over
time, science might be able to pinpoint a direct cause. Alzheimer s disease is the most

Tales From The Mekong Delta Essay
Everything turns a beautiful blue. Sights, sounds, touch, and mind sets are changed. Creativity flows
freely from your mind to the hand to the pen and to the paper. This blue is the blue that knows you and
where you live and it s never going to forget (107). The blue is the fix and excitement an addict gets
from drugs. Addicts look for an escape. They feel that if they just have that hit they will enjoy life and
its experiences to a fuller extent. In Kate Braverman s short story Tall Tales From the Mekong Delta,
she describes one woman s struggle with drugs and how she eventually turns back to them after being
sober for so many years. Through examining the changing appearance of Lenny, her longing for

coming to her house because now her addiction is following her home and effecting her daughter.
When the daughter is first mentioned, the narrator tries to go to a different clinic and avoid Lenny, but
she ends up going back anyway. It is evident that she can t leave her addiction behind. For her,
everyday acts seem much more enjoyable when on drugs. She goes out of their way to experience
something new and exciting. She is a creative writer and uses drugs as a way to get back to her child

3D Art Case Study
1. The 2D manuscript painting on vellum of The Limbourg Brothers from the February calendar was a
beautiful lively artwork. The painting illustrates the frigid winter air by using the white colors of the
snow to cover the landscape. Proportion is used to portray the far distance at which the center village
lies. The individuals in the painting are also larger in size than the animals to give a more realistic
representation. The artist uses lines to create the edges of the farm building built of wood. The top of
the calendar uses a half circle shape in which to illustrate the dates. Emphasis is given to the top of the
calendar that displays the dates using a dark blue and gold color to depict the night sky with
constellations. The 3D sculpture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This 3D sculpture is providing balance with its symmetrical borders that surround Saint Mark.
Emphasis is placed on the center of the sculpture where Saint Mark is situated inside the empty space
off the sculpture. The 2D I found least aesthetically pleasing was the Flemish oil painting of Jan Eyck,
Portrait of Giovanni Arnolfini and Giovanna Genami. Although painted with an astonishing level of
realism, his use of proportion when painting the hands is disproportionally small and seem flattened.
This illustrates how marriage back then did not require the presence of a priest or minister. The 3D
German gothic Pieta made from polychromed wood was a disturbing sculpture. The heads of the
Virgin Mary and Jesus are larger than their bodies. Anatomical details are exaggerated to emphasize
the suffering Jesus endured. Repetition within the sculpture takes form in the flowers of the pedestal in
which the Virgin Mary sits. These flowers contrast with the gruesome blood pouring from the body of
Jesus. Overall this sculpture lacks color and looks like it has a rough texture. These artworks all
correlate to one another because they are within the 15th century

Why Housing Price Is So High
Why housing price is so high in China, especially in core cities? And why the government didn t do
anything to reduce the price? Because government is the one of the cause of high housing price. In
China government own the land, government sell the land to real estate developers at a very high price
at the beginning, and then heavily tax real estate industry s income which from selling the house they
built on that land. Real estate industry wants to make profit; therefore, they increase housing price in
order to make a better profit from consumer. Additionally, since real estate is a big part of China s
economy and a large portion of government s tax revenue is coming from the real estate industry;
therefore, government does not want housing price to drop. Government does publish some policy to
adjust hosing price when it increased too rapidly, and the purpose of government s adjustment is not to
decrease the housing price, but to slow the speed of increasing.
Although the housing price is incredibly high in China today, the demands for housing are kept
increasing, which is another reason lead to high housing price. The average Chinese city dweller takes
their first mortgage at the age of 27, far earlier than in other countries. Why do young urban Chinese
are buying first home so early? First, concerns over future increases in house prices were driving them
to buy their first homes too soon (Boehler, 2013). Second, the traditional pressure on young urban
Chinese to own

Examples Of Tolerance In Freedom Writers
Tolerance in Freedom Writers
In the movie freedom writers kids learn to be tolerant and respect others for their color and race. It
shows how these kids from the streets improve and change their perspective on color. The help from
their teacher Ms. Gruwell really inspired and changed them. In their minds everything is about color.
Slowly throughout the movie they change and accept others.
In the beginning of the movie Erin Gruwell the new teacher is joyful and tolerant of everyone. Her
husband and she are happy and he supports her teaching her new class. On the other hand, Eva, a girl
who at first had no tolerance for others and based everything off color had a father who was in jail and
lived just with her mother. Her whole life was dedicated to the gang life that was basically her family.
She s not excited about school and could really care less. In the middle of them movie Erin s husband
starts to get annoyed and insults those kids who are learning tolerance. The kids are doing fine and are
really changing already. Ms. Gruwell has come home late from school and her husband is blaming it
on the kids which leads to his annoyance. In Eva s life she is struggling because she is changing and

What Is David Hasselhoff Ever Done
David Hasselhoff is one of the most known faces throughout the world for his performance in
countless movies over the years. Hasselhoff is most well known from His show Baywatch . He has
also starred in Click, Dodge ball, and Fugitives Run to name a few (imdb.com). But, for those who do
not know, Hasselhoff was also a singer. This week I decided to do my listening log on Hasselhoff s
live performance at the Berlin Wall in 1989. I chose this because it is iconic. Hasselhoff s singing
performance at the Berlin Wall is definitely the most significant song performance he had ever done.
David Hasselhoff s performance at the Berlin Wall is on video on youtube.com, this is where I
watched it. For his performance he sang one of his recorded songs looking for freedom on New Year s
eve 1989, just weeks after the wall started being tore down (wikipedia.org). He wore a piano keyed

The song is very upbeat all throughout. Hasselhoff is the leading voice in the song, but you can hear

We are also able to say in which time period the actions take place.
As an indicator we are using the dance at the gym in Act I,Scene 4, where Tony and Maria first meet.

Bernardo, who is the leader of the Sharks and Maria`s older brother seems to be in control of
everything. It also appears as if he is more dominant than his parents possibly because they are, just
like he is, immigrants but less adapted to the new situation.
Both groups are struggling for survival in the streets and their social lives. Certain similarities can be
found even though they would never admit to these.
Many of the above mentioned aspects are typical prejudices and therefore named as typical features of
the society (in this case the society consists of the Jets and the Sharks).

Jets. No matter what he might have had in the gang in the past he left his buddies some time ago.
What is important is that even though he no longer appears to be an active member of the Jets he still
is accepted and what is even more respected by the other members. His presence is important for them
at the dance, as well is his decision concerning the rumble.

Outline Of Unresponsiveness
Considering the high mortality in the intensive care unit in hospitals compared to other units as well as
the high costs of inpatient treatment in these units, mortality prediction has long been a concern [3]. In
recognition of these problems, various scoring scales have been proposed and validated. However, no
score has been used as a gold standard and some are difficult to use [4]. The most commonly used
scale is Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) [5]. Lately Full Outline of Unresponsiveness (FOUR) score has

brain damaged patients [2]. GCS was introduced in 1974 as a method to objectively determine the
severity of brain dysfunction and coma six hours after the occurrence of head trauma [1]. It takes into
consideration of three parameters, eye opening, verbal response and motor response. It was revised in
1976 with the addition of a sixth point in motor response subscale for withdrawal from pain stimulus

In my opinion, gender roles are being challenged today to a certain degree, but in order for us to
become more open minded, it is imperative to find a central path between the two extremes. While it
is important for us to maintain our physiological differences and fulfill certain individual
responsibilities, it is equally important for women to assume more significant roles outside the
household and to realize their full potential.
No Exit, by Jean Paul Satre follows three characters who have been condemned to hell , for the evil
deeds committed by them. Here, Satre has represented hell, not in its biblical or Christian sense, where
the sinners and transgressors are tortured, but as a room, with no windows and only one door, and
where the inhabitants are left alone with their thoughts and the other persons that reside therein.
As the play unfolds, the audience is made aware of the sins committed by the individuals that have
caused them to be here, including adultery, murder and cowardice. Through this explication, the
author has showed us the differing gender roles adopted by men and women but more importantly
how certain individuals will tend to deviate from these norms. Though the expected norm is for a man
to be brave and fearless, Joseph Garcin is a coward and refuses to accept his responsibilities, made

Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome Research Paper
Abstract Thiamine is an essential vitamin needed by all cells in the body. When the body lacks
thiamine for an extended period of time, many problems arise, mainly in the brain and heart.
Alcoholism and malnourishment are two of the leading causes of thiamine deficiency. Although fairly
rare, Wernicke Korsakoff syndrome (WKS) can be a severe consequence of thiamine shortage. WKS
is a neurodegenerative disease that affects the brain and disrupts the neuronal signaling. Not only does
it make daily life very difficult, it can become life threatening and cause permanent damage. The lack
of thiamine interrupts many biochemical pathways in the body, including the pentose phosphate
pathway, glycolysis, and the Citric Acid cycle. Disrupting these pathways causes WKS to present
along with multiple other complications.
Introduction
WKS is actually a combination of two different diseases. Wernicke s Encephalopathy is the first to
appear. It is a short lived, but life threatening mental condition. It causes ocular disturbances, mental
state variation, and unsteady movements and stance (Thomson, 2009). Wernicke s Encephalopathy is
mainly seen in alcoholics, but has been observed in non alcoholics as well. Korsakoff s syndrome is
the second illness to present. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, if caught early enough, the less likely there will be residual brain damage and memory
impairment. Treatment for WKS is immediate administration of thiamine. Thiamine doses differ from
patient to patient depending on severity of the WKS. Oral thiamine supplements are not effective in
severe cases because of the liver damage and disrupted thiamine metabolism. It usually is
administered intramuscularly. Taking the thiamine may not completely reverse all damage, but can
prevent the progression of the disease. Also, a few lifestyle changes should be made, including a
complete diet and refraining from heavy

So this raises the question, is using forced labor acceptable if it is for the overall good of the company,
customers, and economy? The International Labor Organization defines forced labor as all work or
service, which is exacted from any person under the menace of any penalty and for which said person
has not offered himself voluntarily. ( Understanding the Role of Labor Recruiters.... ). Apple used
forced labor; they faced many problems in 2012 dealing with forced labor and awful working
conditions. Workers in Apple factories received pay for only a part of the time they worked, and the

Examples Of Deceiving Others In A Doll s House
Deceiving others is not always done with ill intentions. Saving your life or someone else s is enough

between two sentences or ideas (Langer Smith Burke, 1982). Only cohesive ties in which the referent

  • 2. My Experience Of Moving To A New Country Moving to a new house it s exciting but moving to a new country it s terrifying. That s how I felt when I moved here to the states, terrified. Entering unknown land without knowing a sense of English can be very overwhelming at a young age. Leaving my family was definitely one of the hardest thing I ve experienced because I couldn t just drive back to visit them. Even though I was only 12 when I moved from Venezuela, that journey has helped me grow and have a better mindset. I get to see things differently and have a different look on life. I would say that it has definitely help me transition from childhood to adulthood. Because moving with new people, learning a new culture and language is something special yet so stressing. At times I find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Aaron Copland Research Paper I became very preoccupied with writing serious concert music that would have a specifically American flavor. ( UXL Biographies 2). Those were the words of Aaron Copland, which he told to Edward Rothstein of the New York Times. Copland wanted to make American music speak in its own unique way. Over the course of his existence he did that by composing some of the most well known classical scores and ballet theme of his time.Truly studying Aaron Copeland s life, an individual can recognize that Copeland is a true American icon by analyzing his life experiences and understanding how his tremendous impact and influence had touched lives of Americans, most particularly, musicians. Aaron Copland was born in the year of 1900 on November 14th, near Brooklyn, New York. As the youngest of 5 siblings and was raised by his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Growing up on the streets of New York made Copland independent, as his music conveys. He revealed a great interest in music during his early life, composing songs when he was only eight years old ( UXL Biographies 1). Composing at this young age was already a sign of a true gift. Copland s family had already invested a significant amount of money in the four older children with less than stellar results ( UXL Biographies 1). Copeland s siblings all took after music for a hobby, but his talent was unmatched. His parents finally paid for private piano lessons with Leopold Wolfsohn when he turned 13 ( UXL Biographies 1). Short after that he attended Boys High School in Brooklyn, where he took music theory classes with Rubin Goldmark for the next four years ( Encyclopedia of World Biography 1). Goldmark was a very well known educator in Brooklyn which is why George Gershwin, another great American composer, also studied with Goldmark ( Newsmakers 1). The teacher of Copland not only taught one, but two, amazing composers, artists, and musicians. In 1924 Copland went to France to study at The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Anxiety And Anxiety Disorder Fear and anxiety are feelings that are natural human responses. These feelings are necessary in humans and animals for survival and to deal with dangerous and stressful events. They/such feelings help individuals cope with adverse or unexpected situations. However, there are certain individuals who will experience these feelings on a daily basis for long periods of time. The constant fear and anxiety interferes with individual s daily lives and it is then when these feelings become a mental health problem, identify as Anxiety Disorders (Steimer, 2002). One of these anxiety disorders is Panic Disorder. Panic Disorder is characterized by individuals suffering from unpredicted and constant attacks of fear which normally last between 10 to 20 minutes. These attacks are known as panic attacks. Panic attacks are identified by fear of losing control even in situations where there is no real danger. Some of the most frequent symptoms a person experience when having a panic attack are chest pain, palpitations, sweating, feeling short of breath and the feelings of going crazy or having a heart attack (National Institute of Mental Health, 2016). Furthermore, people who suffer from Panic Disorder often develop other conditions such as depression, phobias and drug abuse. Many people with Panic Disorder will avoid certain situations and environments because they fear they may suffer a panic attack. Because of this, it is also very common for individuals with Panic Disorder to develop agoraphobia (NIH, 2016). As a consequence of fearing a panic attack, people with this disorder often engage in catastrophic and negative thinking. A common example is my heart is beating fast, I am having a heart attack (Steimer, 2002). Therefore, Panic Disorder is a condition that have a negative impact on people s family, social and working lives (Kessler et al., 2005). Panic Disorder is treatable, and numerous treatments exist which help reducing the severity of the symptoms as well as decreasing the number of panic attacks that occur in the disorder. These treatments are biological treatment, which involve pharmacological drugs, psychotherapy or a combination of both (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, 2013). This essay ... • 5. Advertisement Analysis Of An Advertisement There are many things that go in to make an advertisement successful for the audience. In 2014, a photography blogger, Johnny Baker, posted a set of four photos stating that smoking dulls your senses. The ad is successful because of the use of how simple and plain the photos are but also explaining the true facts and how dangerous and expensive smoking is. To understand the purpose of this print advertisement, you must understand why Baker created these. He states, I created still life scenes that represented certain facts about smoking, these facts were chosen as they would be off putting to new smokers and people that smoke already. (baker)I feel the ad appeals more towards women than men but also relates a little to everyone because it talks about the effects that smoking has during a pregnancy and how smoking can cause your skin to wrinkle and age faster. This is important because pregnancy is wanted for most women and smoking can cause serious affect to fertility. Also, men do not care as much about wrinkles like women. All four of the photos are items, but what makes the message so powerful is Baker creates them with cardboard. He says he did this to make it eye catching and to replicate the color of the addictiveness, which is nicotine. The first picture to appear, appeals to everyone because everybody needs food to survive. It shows a drink, a hamburger and some fries, but all made from cardboard. The caption explains that smoking dulls your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because there was never a day when I chose dance, it is just a part of me that has always been there. My mother put me in dance classes when I was three years old to give me something to do while my newborn brother got all of the attention. For as long as I can remember I was dancing. I thought that dance was just what I did, but the truth is that no one is forcing me to dance. It would be more accurate to say that I am forcing everyone else around me to let me dance. • 8. The Problem Of Nuclear Power Nuclear power is one of the most controversial issues of today s society. This stems from the fact that although nuclear power holds vast amounts of potential, it currently has many problems. One of the main problems is figuring out what to do with the waste. The waste itself is too dangerous to dispose of in any conventional way, so presently, most of it is sealed in concrete casks and put into storage (in bunkers) until it stops being dangerous. This might not seem like a bad idea at first, but the problem with this idea is that the waste won t stop being dangerous for many, many years. There have to be better solutions to this problem. As it turns out, there are a few. The most promising in the short term is to recycle the nuclear waste, like any normal type of waste. In order to understand how this and some other solutions work, a crash course in basic nuclear physics will be provided. Now, that might sound a bit difficult, but it s actually pretty simple, and chances are some of it was taught in elementary school science class. Anyone who feels they already know what they need to know, or can t be bothered to read it, should feel free to skim through or skip the crash course. Let s get started! No-No Boy Essay In the novel, No No Boy, John Okada provides an ideological perspective of a young Japanese American during the aftermath of World War II that gives the reader an insight into the racial discrimination towards a race that is rarely acknowledged in United States history. The author uses the past of Ichiro to determine the effect it has on his family to guide the story and appeal to the reader s pathos over a topic that is not widely discussed in modern society. The importance of the past plays a huge role on the decisions and actions the characters take during Post World War II. • 11. The Dangers Of Mass Shootings Mass Shootings There is no question that mass shootings are happening more frequently. The question is are they happening to often? They have become more common, but have always been a problem in the world. Shootings have been happening since the invention of guns, but as we come closer to our era mass shootings have been happening more regularly. These shootings need to be stopped and put an end to. But how can we as a whole all come together and put an end to it? The statistics and facts that are going to be used give valid reasons to where the shootings take place, how it happens and the number of casualties and lives taken from these shootings. Mass shootings have recently become more frequent and more deadly over the years. Living in the U.S. we have lived through at least fifty years of mass shootings and a variation of tragedies. A mass shooting is when a gunman shoots or kills four or more people in the same general time and location. The three most deadly shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in the past ten years are Las Vegas attack (at least 58 killed), Virgina Tech massacre (32 killed), Orlando nightclub shooting(49 dead) (Willingham). These shootings exemplify the lack of control that we have over guns and the type of people that have possession of the guns. If we want to try to control the type of people who can own a gun, then the government should keep updated on the people who buy bigger guns with more rounds and do mental background checks. The researchers also found that most mass murderers suffered from some mental instability, though they usually weren t flagged by mental health specialists or law enforcement. And military style rifles were used in 18 of the 66 mass public shootings in the most recent 15 year period the researchers studied (Shastry, Anjali). If a person has possession a military style rifle that should automatically redflag the government. Some of the main reasons that these things happen are because the government or law enforcement don t keep tabs on these people. Media today plays a big part in the mass shootings believe it or not. Media contagion is largely responsible for the increase in these often deadly outbursts (Media Contagion). By showing the number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There s also evidence from the journal of reproductive doxology that found that humans must be exposed to levels of BPA at least 10 times what EPA has deemed safe because of the amount of chemical detected in tissues and blood samples. In 1997 Japan began to use other natural resin instead of BPA after their scientists show the leaching of BPA into baby bottles. To Kill a Mockingbird, is incredibly different from her other book newer novel Go Set a Watchman. She originally wrote Go Set a Watchman, and then it was her publisher that told her the story would have a greater impact if set from a younger Scout s perspective. How the publisher was able to see the potential that the story had, I find to be fascinating. Personally, I did not enjoy Go Set a Watchman like I did To Kill a Mockingbird. I feel that this is partly due to the order of how we read the books. It is the same scenario as it was when we read the novel first then watched the movie with To Kill a Mockingbird. Although painted with an astonishing level of realism, his use of proportion when painting the hands is disproportionally small and seem flattened. This illustrates how marriage back then did not require the presence of a priest or minister. The 3D German gothic Pieta made from polychromed wood was a disturbing sculpture. • 24. Why Housing Price Is So High Why housing price is so high in China, especially in core cities? And why the government didn t do anything to reduce the price? Because government is the one of the cause of high housing price. In China government own the land, government sell the land to real estate developers at a very high price at the beginning, and then heavily tax real estate industry s income which from selling the house they built on that land. Real estate industry wants to make profit; therefore, they increase housing price in order to make a better profit from consumer. Additionally, since real estate is a big part of China s economy and a large portion of government s tax revenue is coming from the real estate industry; therefore, government does not want housing price to drop. Government does publish some policy to adjust hosing price when it increased too rapidly, and the purpose of government s adjustment is not to decrease the housing price, but to slow the speed of increasing. Although the housing price is incredibly high in China today, the demands for housing are kept increasing, which is another reason lead to high housing price. The average Chinese city dweller takes their first mortgage at the age of 27, far earlier than in other countries. Why do young urban Chinese are buying first home so early? In other words, America is composed of a myriad of cultures and backgrounds. This sets America apart from other nations within the globe. With Japan s heavily guarded enemy lines, there was no way that the U.S. would be able to invade them without the tragic loss of numerous soldiers. As a result, Truman gave the Japanese a chance to surrender, but they turned it down, so Truman gave the command to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I support the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki because Japan refused to an unconditional surrender, it would save many allied lives, it would establish U.S. as a dominant power, and end the war. Hasselhoff is most well known from His show Baywatch . He has also starred in Click, Dodge ball, and Fugitives Run to name a few (imdb.com). But, for those who do not know, Hasselhoff was also a singer. This week I decided to do my listening log on Hasselhoff s live performance at the Berlin Wall in 1989. I chose this because it is iconic. Hasselhoff s singing performance at the Berlin Wall is definitely the most significant song performance he had ever done. David Hasselhoff s performance at the Berlin Wall is on video on youtube.com, this is where I watched it. For his performance he sang one of his recorded songs looking for freedom on New Year s eve 1989, just weeks after the wall started being tore down (wikipedia.org). The song is very upbeat all throughout. Hasselhoff is the leading voice in the song, but you can hear what sounds like a choir joining in with Him at different parts of the song. This song gets you motivated as it repeats the same few words, I ve been looking for freedom. The play West Side Story takes place in a suburb on the West Side of New York City. We can conclude that we are talking about a socially disadvantaged suburb as the surrounding area is described with high brick walls, not very attractive and by the presence of the two gangs the Jets and the Sharks. We are also able to say in which time period the actions take place. As an indicator we are using the dance at the gym in Act I,Scene 4, where Tony and Maria first meet. It also appears as if he is more dominant than his parents possibly because they are, just like he is, immigrants but less adapted to the new situation. In recognition of these problems, various scoring scales have been proposed and validated. However, no score has been used as a gold standard and some are difficult to use [4]. The most commonly used scale is Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) [5]. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my opinion, gender roles are being challenged today to a certain degree, but in order for us to become more open minded, it is imperative to find a central path between the two extremes. While it is important for us to maintain our physiological differences and fulfill certain individual responsibilities, it is equally important for women to assume more significant roles outside the household and to realize their full potential. No Exit, by Jean Paul Satre follows three characters who have been condemned to hell , for the evil deeds committed by them. Here, Satre has represented hell, not in its biblical or Christian sense, where the sinners and transgressors are tortured, but as a room, with no windows and only one door, and where the inhabitants are left alone with their thoughts and the other persons that reside therein. As the play unfolds, the audience is made aware of the sins committed by the individuals that have caused them to be here, including adultery, murder and cowardice. Through this explication, the author has showed us the differing gender roles adopted by men and women but more importantly how certain individuals will tend to deviate from these norms. When the body lacks thiamine for an extended period of time, many problems arise, mainly in the brain and heart. Alcoholism and malnourishment are two of the leading causes of thiamine deficiency. Although fairly rare, Wernicke Korsakoff syndrome (WKS) can be a severe consequence of thiamine shortage.
