This document describes the development and evaluation of sustained release matrix tablets of paliperidone using natural polymers. Tablets were prepared using different polymers like xanthan gum, guar gum, and locust bean gum. The tablets were evaluated for precompression parameters like angle of repose, bulk density, tapped density, Carr's index, and Hausner's ratio. Post compression evaluation included hardness, thickness, friability, and drug content. In vitro drug release studies were performed and the release kinetics was found to follow Korsemeyer-Peppas model, indicating drug release by non-Fickian diffusion. The formulation with locust bean gum showed sustained release over 12 hours and is a promising candidate for once-daily dos
