This document describes the development and evaluation of liquisolid compacts of curcumin, an antioxidant with poor solubility. Various liquisolid formulations of curcumin were prepared using different liquid vehicle to drug ratios, carrier materials, coating materials, and amounts. The formulations were evaluated for pre-compression properties, tablet properties like hardness and friability, drug content, and in-vitro dissolution. The liquisolid technique enhanced the solubility and dissolution rate of curcumin compared to its pure form. The results showed that liquisolid systems could be considered as an effective technique to improve the solubility and dissolution of curcumin.
